yeah i didnt mean that theyre the same experience, just that theyre both valid flagship options

They're in the same thermal profile you should be fine

theyre the two best available and you pick based on what you prefer

why are you bothering with 13 year old CPU's

merry stirrup

wwhy specifically real world

shell void

that will depend on what youre doing on the PC so nobody can give you a single wattage figure

merry stirrup

your device absolutely has enough power available

IIRC you have a 42" deep desk so it'd be even more weird for you

when i went 13100f -> 12700k my fps doubled

edgy laurel

And play some fortnite

merry stirrup
shell void
#

my personal preference is having my display size be the same as my desk depth

#

so your 42" desk would be perfect for a 42" display for me

#

42" is a bit too large for my preference on my 36" desk, but 27" is wayyyy too small

# edgy laurel why are you bothering with 13 year old CPU's

Because its my secondary PC. Picked it up for like 15 Bucks. And i saw that the CPU wasnt only socketed, it even is a Desktop Socket 1155. BIOS is definetly NOT locked down for higher CPUs. i threw in a Core i5 2400 before i realised its an 95W TDP CPU and that the PSU can only provide 90 Watts.

So that not only makes me curious but also wanting to Upgrade it to an i7-3770T which is the highest CPU on the Socket with a Maximum TDP of 45W.

Also the CPU should be running approx as fast as an N100, so its useable at least.

shell void
merry stirrup
#

lol

jaunty horizon
pure garnet
#

i should just disable my igpu since the master only has an internal hdmi port

hoary hatch
shell void
#

my 9800x3d could be a 45W PPT chip at 4.7GHz if it werent for the SOC and fabric burning like a coal plant

merry stirrup
#

i dont know if 3770t's are cheaper than 3770s or 1230 v2's

steel stream

pure garnet

shell void

@hoary hatch

shell void

the rationale is that a desktop user doesnt care about 20W vampire power and 9800x3d runs games well so whatever

shell void
merry stirrup
#

pretty efficient at using cores

shell void
#

it would put my 14900K to 100%

merry stirrup
#

yeah

#

its shocking seeing like 60-70% usage in games like apex on my cpu

jaunty horizon
# merry stirrup you wwill be fine

I will be measuring the 3470T (Current 35W TDP CPU) with a CPU Burner and a SMart Outlet that can report the Wattage of the Whole device. Subtract Efficiency from it and i have a rough number of what the System Uses and how much i can strech the Wattage until i hit 85W

merry stirrup
#

you cant measure via socket at all thru like throttle stop or idk some linux shit?

#

and keep in mind on earlier intels the TDP includes the igpu, you should be more than fine

shell void
jaunty horizon
#

I mean... it took a fucking i5 2400 with 95W TDP and didnt explode. I think it did something around 60W Wattage so it SHOULD be fine

shell void
#

portable monitors barely use any power because they’re laptop panels

I got two servers and want to access a database running on server B from server A.
I setup a docker container on server A running wireguard and connected to it from server B.
I can access server A from server B but not the other way around (not even from inside the container running the wireguard server), and i'm not sure if it's a configuration issue or whether i need to run a second container on server A running wireguard as a client connecting to it as well...

i'm sure AllowedIPs is the culprit here which's definition i'm not 100% able to grasp... from a client perspective i understood it as a list of IPs or ranges that the client should connect to through the tunnel
