I find the cell tower location portion of the app useful when I'm wondering why my phone is (stupidly) hanging on to a 5G connection that's not routing any traffic. Depends on the limiting factor of your internet. If you only pay for 20mbps down / 2mbps up, then yes, upgrading your internet plan will likely help. However, if you happen to be using a computer from 20 years ago, you may start by upgrading the computer. And if you happen to be using WiFi, you may find a wired connection faster.

Going wired removes the distance drop-off. It's connects you directly to your wifi instead of it going through the air and dealing with obstructions. Your wifi should run as advertised on wired

It might not. Depends where your router is located. Ideally, you'd have the "patch panel" inside a PLASTIC (never metal, stupid homebuilders) wall cabinet so that you can "patch" the router into each ethernet run that goes to the room(s) where you want a wired connection.

Problem with this setup is it's a REALLY BAD IDEA to place a WiFi emitting device into a METAL CABINET, or if the cabinet is NOT centrally located in your home, since that would impede your WiFI. This can be mitigated by getting a WiFi solution that includes multiple Access Points (like MESH WiFi hardware) or by leaving your router where it's located now and instead connecting a Network Switch in the wall cabinet where all the ethernet runs are located.

I'm in the UK, I'm looking for a used laptop.
Essentially I want a CPU that gets at least 30,000 on CPU benchmark.
I've been trying to search on eBay getting the best bang for my buck, but they way their search works seems inefficient.
Can anyone who has a bit more immediate knowledge of laptops and laptop CPUs point me in the right direction please?

I'm using it strictly for making music so I don't need a GPU, just raw CPU grunt, 32 gig of the best spec'd ram under £1,000.
