I can't remember the name of the input, but the newer ones use usb-c. Which is possible to swap out cables with. Mine is using the old cable, and those have a pillow in front of the input that makes custom/different cables impossible to use with it

It doesn't need to be the latest and greatest.
It's just for making music so I don't need to consider gaming or graphics.
I'm either looking for a system in a case or just a couple, mobo ram bundle.

Based on my current system and the performance increase I'm expecting I've landed in a Core i7 12700kf, as it hits a used price sweet spot for me.

Before I commit to that are there any other CPUs I should consider in the same performance range, with a primary consideration of a particular CPU that was very common in big brand pre-builts so there would be a lot of them available on eBay at good prices?
