I have the i5-12600k variant. I also chose it because 1) I paid 50% MSRP and 2) issues with 13th / 14th gen. Haven't bothered overclocking, undervolting, ultrasplurging, megahyper-ing, RGB-er-ring, or whatever they call all this time consuming tweaking these days. Works fine ~3 years later. No plans to upgrade for at least another 5 years.

PCIe 2.0 x4 provides 2 GB/s, SATA III drives theoretically max out at 750MB/s but since HDDs generaly max out at 170 MB/s, you can do probably 10 or more drives simultaneously

HBAs are generally 8 port anyway, so I would just go with that

Capacity doesn't affect performance, it only affects things if you were hitting the ram capacity before, x3d is actually a bit more sensitive to RAM latency for gaming iirc

I read the opposite. It's less sensitive due to the amount of cache it has access to. Also what I meant was the higher capacity and speed to smooth things out with ML workloads. Gaming is almost a non factor due to the 3d VCache from what I read in regards to the latency or speed. Now I'm not saying there isn't a performance loss going from 6000 to jedec but it should have less impact than if it were a standard 9950X.
