ok so my boss has 4x16tb Seagate expansion storage, and we do have a mini pc at work here so i could try to make a NAS out of that?
not ideal
nope - memory voltages can mean a bunch of things, generally either the voltage of the power on the DIMMs themselves or sometimes the voltages used to send the messages themselves. The IMC voltage (called VSOC on Ryzens) is the voltage of the I/O controller
What cpu
imma move to #networking
13900kf
Yes
ah nvm
Aha, I just know Ive set it to 1.35V
this is a better homelab than I even have 💀
unfortunately, having a parity drive on a 4x16 setup is going to mean "only" 48TB out of 64... but still, that's huge
Ill be upgrading to the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K tho
from what?
13900kf
OOH sorry I didn't read
Supposedly arrowlake plays much nicer as far as ram oc goes
no problem, i want to sell this PC and keep the 4090, put in a 3070Ti
Can maybe get $1k for it
But that is about it
AMD ryzen 7000/9000 use 6nm IODs, while Intel chips use the same node as the cores because monolithic (and because weird tiling)
do you guys think theyre gonna do a rtx 5000 refresh and if yeah what theyll change Perf/price
finally copped the 5700x build for 280$
All I know is that Intel tends to have better memory controllers, but theres something to do with distance that offsets those gains on the newer arrow lake CPUs or something like that?
hence why raptor lake / arrow lake is better for RAM OC.
beware, though; Intel says that they're going to change to a different socket in the next generation, so LGA-1851 is only ever going to be arrow lake with no upgrade path
despite the controller itself being more robust than raptor lake
Why? Thats so stupid
Why cant they be like AMD with socket support
It forces consumers to choose AMD if they want a path to upgrade thats cheaper than buying a new mobo and CPU
Then maybe I'll wait until next gen comes out and mess with the RAM OC then
what the fuck up to 52 cores in a flagship configuration for Nova Lake
Ryzens also have weird tricks to reduce latency, but it does take some knowledge ||raising FCLK to be a fraction of MCLK||. I'm on a 7900X3D with DDR5-6200 with the latency reduction trick. TL:DR - Ryzen IODs are weird. also the 7000s and the 9000s use the same IODs. the 8000s use different IODs which are actually very intel-like and very fast, but they're weird chips and not really good for other reasons.
Truthfully, the best RAM overclock is X3D.
Really, the big limitation with Ryzen 7000/9000 is that the infinity fabric can't go any faster than around 64GB/s read and 32GB/s write per CCD. they're gonna change that with 10000 but in the meantime we're stuck here
Nova Lake Silicon SKU #1: 52 Cores (16 P-Cores + 32 E-Cores + 4 LPE-Cores)
16 P-cores, 32 E-cores, 4 LPE-cores, 144MB L3?
either this is straight up not going to exist or it's gonna be on some insane quad-channel socket, because there's no way you're getting that many cores on dual-channel DDR5, even at DDR5-11000 or something. also this will cost at LEAST a billion dollars. also it doesn't make sense to have LPE cores on a desktop?
I fear nova lake is not cooking
are we getting a sequel to LGA-2066?
yeah, that doesn't make sense
AMD is already going pretty far with 12-core CCDs (24 total cores), 52 cores is just stupid and unusable, only for threadripper fanboys
Is the fabric you speak of here the same as in this comment?
It's been rumored that Intel is reworking their chiplets to fix the poor fabric latency so hopefully that's true. LPe Skymont on Lunar Lake only has 4mb of L2 but it performs as well as skylake along with having great efficiency due to a lack of L3 cache
AMD and Intel use different fabric methods, but same idea - the "infinity fabric" is the connection used to connect the CCDs inside the CPU, a little bit like how PCIe connects external parts.
"it performs as well as skylake" is what they said about the OG ecores and those things suck 😭
I wonder if ill be able to run the 6800 cl34 XMP profile 4 dimms with this thing
6800? should be easily achievable on a 13900K. even most ryzens can hit ~7400 with good ram and custom timings
oh 4 DIMMs? lord no
hahaha
Saw a video of a dude doing 6000 CL32(4?) gear 1 (192gb) on an AM5 board
Whats with the "gear 1" with 4 dimms on AMD boards?
apparently its not real gear 1, but it does say gear 1
faster than gear 2 tho?
absolute satisfaction (it was a post that was very intentionally misleading)
Are tablets worth it over a laptop if it's mostly for watching movies web browsing
idk about Intel, but on AMD, "gear" refers to the ratio between the fabric clock and the memory clock
really, you can run whatever timings you want on both of them, but ideally you make it so that your fabric clock is exactly 1/3 of the RAM clock, otherwise signals will have to wait for a little bit every time they go between the two. 1/3 is gear 1, 1/4 is gear 2. gear 2 lets you go up to ~7600 or so, but it does mean you might need to slow down the fabric clock to maintain that 1/4 ratio
as an example, my ryzen is at 2066MHz fabric and 6200MHz RAM, in gear 1, which is right about the sweet spot for Ryzen. stock fabric clock is 2000MHz, so that's a liiittle overclocked
i find a keyboard and mouse (trackpad but close enough) to be infinitely better then using touch controls for anything
dont get bad laptops then
generally the upper limit for AM5 fabric is ~2133, so DDR5-6400 is doable, maybe DDR5-6600 if you're really lucky in first gear.
if you go to second gear, you can usually set fabric to ~1800 and run DDR5-7200, but the low fabric clock means bandwidth is bad. generally, DDR5-7800 is about the limit for AM5, even with good memory. But in gear 2, the limited fclk means that you kinda get "stuck" and you can't improve bandwidth beyond that
latency does improve though
I shall continue this convo if I remember once I wake up, its 3 AM here I will take a nap
Well I don't want to break the bank
And seems only apple has laptops with good battery
so is it even worth to oc past 1st gear?
going past 1rst gear can improve latency, but bandwidth will be kinda constant
what does bad bandwith do?
it really depends, some applications are sensitive to that (photo editing, data analysis, AI) but others don't care
do note; the dual-CCD ryzens can pull 64GB/s per CCD, so multi-thread workloads can usually make use of a second-gear bus with that
it's really a preference thing, just like "good CL vs good MHz"
still not sure i understand but thanks
NVIDIA is preparing RTX 50 SUPER products?
- RTX 5080 SUPER 24GB
- RTX 5070 SUPER 18GB
https://www.ithome.com/0/849/425.htm
https://www.chiphell.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=2691582&pid=57221021
The 5080 24gb seems to be a Super model
we need to flog samsung more so they make more of the 3gb vram chips
thats literally the perfect solution to the current woes
9gb gpu's
probably coming 2026 ig then
9gb 96bit
If you want good battery life then Windows is out of the equation
If you want good battery then Macbook is ur best choice
Was thinking of going drop tablet to a laptop
Currently have a Samsung tablet
Don't want apple products
A laptop with an 7840U/8840U chip but those chips are reserved for business laptops so they're extremely expensive
Apple is all about eco system bs
I ain't about that
Aren't macs expensive af
And mostly for productivity
Macbook Air M4 is like 1k or less
Like I don't use any of those apple exclusive programs
I just like windows idk
What are you gonna use it for
Great, 4090 undervolted edition!
it’d be crazy if the 5070 gets 18gb vram icl
5070ti is gonna be in a weird spot
18gb or 24gb 5070TiS?
Whats up dudes, What TV's are recommended for PC gaming atm? Can't find any info on people using their PC's with TV's for gaming. Heard TV's have bad input lag. But can PC's solve the input lag the same way consoles can?
lots of TVs do have G-Sync
I been thinking about getting a Sony Bravia 8, want to make sure i get a good experience if i hook my pc to it. Its an expencive screen.
bro a 2400 and a gt710 is not £75
Just daily browsing and movies ect
guys, would a 12600kf (+£75) be a worth while upgrade from a 13400f? (I haven't bought either)
its £75 more because I need a cpu cooler with it
Cheaper even
nope, you'd want a 13600k/14600k/13700/14700/13700k/14700k
I am talking high end
He has nothing
High end cooler for lower end cpu :P
What are your current parts
Well he can then over time grab a higher end cpu without changing cooler all while also low temps aka low noise over that time
Yah, you right
I haven't got any atm, but I just got a new job, my plan is to save up and buy everything but as gpu (use my gt730) and then one I decide I don't wanna wait any longer I'd get the gpu, I might also be able to save some money by getting certain parts for birthdays, so cheaper things like cpu coolers/cases ect technically might not be a cost.
Part List - Intel Core i5-13400F, Tecware Forge M2 MicroATX Mid Tower
I plan on changing it though, this was just getting a rough idea on the cost of everything
Have you looked used
I know it might sound dumb, but I don't wanna buy used if I am going to be spending £1000 on a pc, I'd rather wait a month or 2 longer than go used
maybe with the gpu I might go used but thats it
That's not dumb
also, I've never actually built a pc for myself before
I don't want to buy used either even though it's cheaper
I don't like having extra variables that can go wrong
I'd only go used if I found a 4090 for like 400 bucks off of msrp
and I knew it wasnt a scam
Same
You don't have to justify your decisions to anyone but yourself
I learned that after getting into several stupid and useless arguments with people
if your budget is 500, you could do way better than this
I haven't done pc stuff in too long, I go dry if I am not constantly doing stuff :/, could you help me?
xd
tbf, an r5 5600 +6700xt build could be found for 500 or there abouts
scam
a 12400f (better lows) performs the exact same for gaming as a 5600 and a 13400f is so much better than
oh dude hol up
FYI that is with a 4090
I am not buying gpu, the £500 budget is for no gpu
13400f = 12600k minus being able to OC
I see
I see 2.0
Also do not use any other then a i3 intel cpu with the stock cooler
I see 3.0
tbh, i5's that aren't 'k' or 'ks' it can be used with
the k's dont even come with coolers
Well no shit
tbf I think most would be fine without a cooler, but since all chips vary, its probably not worth the risk
I would rather it be quieter anyway
doing this i'd go for an am5 build
Yup
(Ik its random, but too quiet is bad, whenever I turn my pc off my ears start to ring because its too quiet ://
8500g and some good ram
Either some 99.9% risk pyramid scheme or straight up scam
no
Get a white noise machine
8600g and some bad ram
better but tbh, 7600 + good ram easily
It only happens when I am sat down at my setup, I have conditioned my brain to freak out when im at my desk with no pc on
How bad would the 7600 igpu be compared to a 730
so healthy...
Is the NZXT C850 good? Is it ATX 3.1?
It's fine
atx 3.1? like the psu standard?
Yes ig
closer to a 1030 tbh
i see
Is it ATX 3.1 or 2.5
Oh... No
Should I go for the white one to put in my black and silver build? I'm planning on getting a white gpu for a monochrome
What's the price
As a 7600 owner, idk
$105 approx (USD)
Ye
Unless you have any other good options
What are your other options
Can you help me out by checking startechbd or Ryan's bd
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 8600G, Antec AX20 ATX Mid Tower
There's a thermal take one but I don't like thermal take, and then there's a cooler master one that I forgot the name of
Thermal take is GF3 850w
yea
I am looking for the best pc for £500 no gpu (act as if I already own smt like a 7800 xt)
No used parts, Has to be on PcPartPicker (no aliexpress)
I don't mind stretching the price to even £700 if the bump in performance is especially good
no bios flashes (unless I can do it with an xeon e3-1220v2 xD)
well
wait do you already own a pc
whats the am5 version of smt like a 5600
yes but its older than my arse crack
8400f
I mean the direct version, not performance wide, like i3 12100f vs i3 14100f
i asked about that and you said you did not have it
not a massive amount of performance there, can only do so much with 4 cores
ik ik, that was just an example
anyways, no gpu then this
best APU build
Hi just wondering would I lose performance if I would connect a monitor to my laptop and use it as my main screen?
no
Brother disappeared
might even make it feel better
Okay thanks
needs a bios flash doesn't it? also act as if I alr own a 7800 xt, I'd rather not compromise my performance in the future at all, everything that a new pc would help with tbh, hardly uses gpu at all
it does not
alr
Any good monitor recommendations around 150€-170€ 165hz-180hz hdmi?
then go a650bn
Which resolution
What res
Hi rauko
https://www.awd-it.co.uk/amd-ryzen-5-7600x-six-core-5-3ghz-asrock-a620m-hdv-m-2-motherboard-cpubundle.html this plus https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/QnP9v4 = £479 totsl
I've looked high and low are there any adapters for the WI-FI plug thing?
Adapter?
gigaabyte doing a dumb as usual
how did you lose them
Uhh
sup
yeah something to make it standard
It’s just RP-SMA type connectors
Bro doesn't know
1920x1080 HD
thats not actually that good of a deal, you can get that with a better mobo for the same price + its in stock
1920x1080 Hd but I want to be able to stretch my rez
Won't the gigabyte g24f v2 (I think that's the name) be good then?
@tidal geyser £29 more with alot more performance tbh
thinking of getting a mini itx mobo with no native sata ports and already have a plan to put 2 nvme ssd in and a gpu so have no slot for pcie so would this work for running 2 blue ray drives in the case https://a.co/d/51NReIU

They are generally RP-SMA connectors
Could you send me a link on Amazon of the monitor?
last time i checked the r5 7600x igpu is utterly dogshit
Uhh alright 1 sec
anyways yes with a gpu it is way way better
I said to act as if I own a 7800xt
This is where my RF knowledge actually applies in the real world
Dunno if it's on sale though
Oh frixk
but you do not, how long did you plan it out until you got it after the pc
it's basically a 1030 for an igpu, which tbh is better than a gt730, in the end it would give more performance for when he puts in a better gpu
yes
whink about this mobo
but if he is going to take like half a year to do it then just go 8600g and sell it for then a 7500f or something

no, no you can't get a better mobo with the 7600x for the same price, it then becomes £100 more for the better mobo

Skip, just buy the nzxt C or rmx
anyone have experience with intune? I want to update an app link to an existing app link app, but it's grayed out
a 7600x costs £171 free shipping, that leaves £109 for a mobo

i have heard of it
its for IT system managment over lots and lots of computers
How's cooler master? Let me go get the model real quick
I stopped going main brand when it comes to monitors
did you not see anything he sent you
you ask what then ingore what i am asking
This looks good
I wanted an AOC one but the Asus XG27ACG stole the spot for me
I wanna know how to actually update the url, I can't find the solution
yes, I would save £30 to go buy the exact same mobo and cpu seperately
nope
Pretty popular iirc
and a good b650 that's atx and not matx if you want atx mobo instead is going to cost you an easy £130
no clue, good luck
I don't know much about monitors but the g24f 2 seemed good to me if you can get a good deal on it
that mobo exactly is £80 with free shipping, the cpu is £171 with free shipping, The combo costs £280 I could get them both for £251 seperately
I got a matx B650 and I regret it
g24f 2 is hdmi port?
matx boards are good, but tbh if you want to connect a ton of pcie stuff to a mobo, you'd want atx
why
Im pretty sure it has one but I don't know if the HDMI port can handle 180hz
his case is prolly atx
or not a consumer platform
How would I connect it to my laptop then?
adapters
Didn't realize it, saw that it's $130, which was pretty cheap for a 4 slot for ram sticks b650
But I realized that it's a matx after buying it
4 ram slots doesn't make a mobo better
I wanted to be able to increase the amount of sticks in the future without selling my current sticks
Yeah ik
thanks.
But ram is extremely expensive in my region for some reason and the resell value is absurd
but lose like 20% of your performance
lol, that would be fine if it was a mobo using ddr4, not ddr5 tbh
Just so you know, you’ll most likely LOSE performance using 4 slots
A worth it trade off for me as I don't really need the best performance in the world by spending more money in the long run
Yeahhh
But what do you need more ram for
not most likely, it's a most definitely
I definitely will but I'm not planning on upgrading anytime soon, but when I do need to get more ram, I'll keep my current sticks
How much are you getting now? 32GB is enough for literally any game
I learned this the hard way with my last motherboard 💀
Minecraft at 128+ render distance mod: hehe
at that point i would imagine ram sticks are a lot better
like 6000 cl20 sticks for cheap or some shit
32gb but I often play with my friends and whatnot and need to host servers for mc on my pc
And you’ll have more money to make an upgrade instead of buying more of the same one
Mc server only needs like 8GB max
cl20
Leaves you with 24, still enough for most games
Which is silly but windows also uses like 30-40% of the ram on kdle
Not when you add mods
Then it isn’t idle
uhm sorry to tell you but windows only uses like 4GB
4 is not 20-40% of 32
this is what I am going with so far
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/n2hGNz (£533)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Tecware Forge M2 MicroATX Mid Tower
anything extra is you
By idle I meant Firefox running in the background, discord, and some other stuff. But Im not using the pc when it uses up 30%
._.
I didn't word it properly but I meant all the other background applications 💀
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Tecware Forge M2 MicroATX Mid Tower
get rid of em
Idle would be considered windows after booting with no background tasks or at most a launcher running in the background
I'm going to get a psu in the next 2 days and planning on going for the Nzxt one
I use them
Hmm.. I kinda want a steam deck but it's kinda weak for devices from the same category and price, but I don't want to deal with windows on a handheld..
Ohh I see
You most likely won’t though, Minecraft servers have automatic garbage collection, as long as the mods themselves don’t use up more than 8GB, which they shouldn’t, you’ll be fine
would you see the red text on them in a case? the ram that is
wat
these are temps with 32 render distance and minecraft shaders
not sure if that would matter but probs not
thermal paste coming in clutch
those are great
for laptops thermal pads are best
just replaced the paste with mx-6
working really really well
I'd probably disable the launcher as well from starting at boot up if you're doing testing
it had a thermal pad but it was starting to die
Anyway, I know it’s not what you want to hear, but you don’t need an upgrade path for more than 32GB, lol
so no additional tasks are running
It becomes messy when you've got mods on the server and on the game client
still gets 60fps with a gtx 1650 at least
good to see it finally not thermal throttle
Ye very middle of the line paste
i was told to get it from this server too lol
yeah cmon LM all of it, LM the WORLD
the difference of even a thermal pad and mx 6 is like 1-2c
60 fps with shaders? Should I be concerned that my 2060S struggles with 50 fps on medium settings
which is what like 8usd idk
LOLL what im on high settings
I like how people laugh about how undemanding Minecraft is... Till you turn on shaders
Oh wow
its still kind hard to run but if you get the right optimizations ur all good
Because it’s not, it doesn’t count when you need a modded client
I'm going to buy a 9070 xt next month, should I replace my GPUs thermalpad or whatever right now?
Ye sodium and shit, I use fabulously optimized and add my own mods
Y it's alright especially for a gtx 1650
this is with fabric and a couple of fps mods and i can get 300+ on 32
Vannila Minecraft is downright unplayable, no matter what ur PC is
oh nice i use simply optimized
Unplayable how?
im not lying but i find it works just fine when speedrunning
i can play just fine on 20 render distance and yeah its a lil stuttery when loading in but it smooths out
the ram sucks, and tbh, you'd want a 750w psu for that gpu
Since they switches to 64bit only it has improved iirc
I wouldn't say unplayable, but it can feel like it's missing something after playing for some time
Its very demanding on the cpu in singleplayer, and it stutters a lot, another thing... It's just less fun
what ram should I go with?
the stuff i sent
What's your cpu
alr
what cpu
the silicon power one i put in the link i sent would have been way better, do not go for corsair ram
faster then me 😦
He said no matter what PC 💀
what
Alright guys I'm going for the NZXT C850's UK one 🫡
not seen a 9800X3D and 5090 pc stutter
how much should I be spending on a 750w psu?
no
damn
R5 5600 and I tried the same with a 12400f, and my laptops Ryzen 7735hs, and my dad's laptop 185-something, they all were trash
tbf cant remember the last time I played vanilla minecraft, even when we play vanilla i use fabric 😄
tbf 750w seems a bit overkill
What about the recent drivers issue?
7800xt dude, he'll want a 750w
not that
no as in do not do that kinda stuff, go for quality not generic price
ok 9800X3D and 9070 xt
if I was to go with a 7900 gre would that need a 750w?
ah, true
i dono, not seen ANY issues on anything i own
forcing minecraft bedrock to not use vsync and 900 fps in menus lol
minimum yes
I am talking pure vanilla no mods thru the mc launcher and everything
I’m gonna show you something if I remember, I bet you I could get a 4500U running 60FPS 720P no stuttering
me too
would it be enough for a 7900xtx?
Sure...
yes
I have my doubts
https://stupidpenisx.com/HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN/status/1916781758621843557?t=LRXaRnqoKDtYwpHtMIIdCA&s=19
What kinda phone case is that why is it screwed down 😭
Nah issue with vanilla mc is chunk generation, if you explore a lot you do get stuttering even on high end systems
Singleplayer is not very optimized
if 850w isnt that much more expensive I'll go with it, but if its more than like £20 I wont
Make ur iphone a Samsung type shit
how big was the render distance
yes but for a 7900xt/7900xtx you'd really want an 850w psu instead
12
I'll see what I can/will afford
Altho I usually use 20
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Tecware Forge M2 MicroATX Mid Tower
hol up
what is it about that motherboard
£4 more and you get a usable one
nothing tbh, just much cheaper than the rest and seems sufficient
alr, I'll go with that then
btw what is the difference
Hmmm interesting
you can see
no joke its literally the same motherboard but with one difference
does it just have pcie gen 5 or 1 more slot or smt
cmon you can do this
Its smt to do with m.2's but I dont wanna look at the image to tell
alr yeah its the ports
NO
o wow they are different boards
One is bad the other one is trash
ding ding ding
nukes you
but no a620 is usable and it has qflash+ and so on
the main difference is that one has a VRM heatsink
Different vrm setup and so on
xd
bro
@tidal geyser is the idle RAM usage based on memory in the system linear until it hits a max?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Tecware Forge M2 MicroATX Mid Tower
So like, if you have 8gb installed, itll use 2gb, but once you hit for example 32gb it doesnt need more than 4gb?
im stealing this
Thats the lowest I can get it to go on boot
i typed for like 10 seconds
it was showing that you were typing for 3 minutes
well yea
the more ram you have the more windows uses i find 😄
I havent seen a boot go over 8gb with startup disabled on everything
i have a laptop with 64GB after boot i am at 4GB
After boot im usually 900MB-1.2GB
I shall test on a win 11 iot enterprise ltsc install later today
with 8gb ram
ddr3 💀
After I start vscode and chrome I'm usually using about 20gb ram
Hey guys need some help with my out put on streaming. My recording all look a bit blurry when moving around but stationary looks great. Any idea why?
low bitrate?
use cqp
Bit rate is a 4500 gpu is a 9070xt
XD
use cqp
if recording or the highest bit rate allowed for streaming
also make sure its doing your screen res
cpq??
My screen res is 1440
...well?
a ghost
Ah
Im kidding, sometimes im thinking of something to type and I type while thinking but end up not sending and deleting what i typed
is OBS doing 1440p
Aight, makes sense
I love when steam actually uses all of your internet speed
instead of downloading slow af
I dont think so let me check.
Sometimes I just wanna download in the background
are these the same?
Now I can't watch yt cuz steam is busy
common 👎 fractional 👍
Yep
what are you streaming to
Twitch this is my output
best bitrate
well yea that too
set it to 7800 for bitrate
ofc
unless someone is torrenting or something its fine
So try run 7800 on my stream?

bro i did it again, you cant run the install of rocket league from steam if you have the same epic games account
yes
Amazing thank you for your help ❤️
ew they made a popout for epic games when you wanna look at your active downloads
thats so gross, put it back into the same window
is 12gb vram really that low or why are ppl complaining
because it seems all stuff I can try fits in this limit
or is it just bad to be close to the limit performance wise
4k

i think theyre tapping screws, gotta buy a screwdriver now :(
(please ping me for a reply)
i hope aldi sells screwdrivers rn
You don't have a screwdriver?
nope, not a proper one
js some small shit from when i repaired my phone
theyre gonna strip the screws
Think I'm looking at the right specs for the router
Imagine
Depends how you set it up like wifi 5g travels less then a 2.4g signal so to speak but it's a solid router all in all. As for if you should wait, couldn't say
gimme 😭
fucking kids are outta school i js wanna go my way

Yeah it's sad
i got a ltt screwdriver and an ifixit mako kit, basically every bit you’ll ever need
I'm a cheap beasy I got like a $20 specialty kit that works well
aldi is my last hope 🙏
I like buying quality stuff once than cheap stuff multiple times
cheap doesnt mean bad
That's fair depending on the item haven't had to replace this kit over the last 20 repairs so it's working for now
Restored every one
generally speaking, it does
you get what you pay for
For some things*
I have a specific screwdriver for most screws and a screwdriver with bits for basically any screw I would ever need
an indication yes but dont use it as Synonym
Ahh yiss theee screwdriver I have all these specialty ones but there's an old philips I prefer to use every time cause it's just convenient probs muscle mem or smth
Not that I wouldn't get the nicer brand stuff if I had it like that ❤️ 🐛
real shit
ig i gotta do some Sidequests to search forba phillips screwdriver
and hope its somewhat the right size

Quite the collection 👀
also its the arctic liquid freezer 3 420
I got a few for cheap one neaded the traces on the mobo repaired some needed new dvd drives (got way lucky fixing all those) but got it all set now my brother's have one, my kids, myself and sold like 3 now have 1 left to get rid of
for what thats worth
And then ofc pasting and upgrading from 40 pin ide to 80 pin satas for each ❤️. Was alot easier then restoring the ps2's
Artic is my fav
Artic lf2 and 3 are superbs
All had LF's

So... did a thing yesterday.. with a lot of headaches with installing windows 10 (it was my first time doing it...)
But got this time machine working again:
GGs That Athlons doing it's best
nice
I mean, it is installing windows updates.
When its doing nothing, it sits at ~18%
i got the amd athlong II x2 270 running windose 11
Yea, I tried to get windows 11 to work.
It continuously did boot loops...
I mean, hey, this one use to run... drum roll please
Windows 7
With an hdd..
But at least she bootsss
Technically, its a hand me down system.
It was my wife's mother's old pc.
Can't really get my personal pc up and running, because, well...
Hopefully you saw the images I sent yesterday.
It has no CPU or ram.
Has everything else..
Oh I see, that'll do it
, my baby has me up since 3:30am today I'm barely alive, send hallp
this pcpp list is gonna be all sorts of fucked up
rate my build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mc8QKq
Part List - Intel Core i7-4790K, GeForce GTX 970, Aerocool XPredator X3 ATX Mid Tower
I wonder what titles that can play
outside the cpu like doesn't seem all to shabby for retro gaming
it beats a i5 13400F and 4060 in fornight
That's killer
Oof...
Take a few melatonin gummies. Like, 5 at least.
You'll be fine! You won't wake up with a headache so bad that you'd wish you were dead.
yes the game engine is pile of crap
If I didn't have to tend the to the baby I'd be out like a rockkk xD
No gummies neededs

But where's the fun in that?..
But, seriously, try to get some type of sleep.
In an hour my girls get up for school only dooms, eventually sleep though.. one day
I'm sitting^
Gotcha.
Also, I don't think you guys will like how the system is standing...
How is it standing?
Lmao my man's risking it for the biscuits
Yea, I'm kind of treating it like grandpa..
When I power it down, gotcha unplug 'em.
I'd give that psu alittle space but if she works
Thats the least of your concerns...
Its the cpu
There is no thermal paste on it as we speak
We have no thermal paste in this house 🥲
Actually that's probs fine for short burst use
But eventually gotta get like at least a $5 stick
Idk your temps I'm sure you could undervolt or something if needed and survive off the fan heatsink transfer temporarily
Good, cancel that shit
There's no reason for a 9060 XT to be 8gb 😭
Minimum 12gb
Already had plans on getting a €7 stick today
is it worth it to buy a contact frame for am5
You got thiss
Not really
2 gens ahead of me, nice
Contact frame is useful only on LGA1700
alright
But if you think it's neat ofc ❤️
LGA1700 has a design manufacturing issue AM5 doesn't
Also, from what I remember, the cpu is idling at 41C
That's still fine
wdym?
ah the bend
Pentium 3 can hit up to 43c scrolling
Yeah
40+c idle when dusty
Bending causing inproper contact with the cooler
at least they run way cooler
I mean yeah cuz AM5 was made to run 95C
am5 cpus like 7700x run at way higher temps then lets say 13600k at same powerdraw
I know cuz AMD made the cpu's run at 95C 24/7
and so did intel
Core performance boost being disabled helps a good bit to reduce temps (similar to intels multicor enhancement via bio)
amd unlike intel locks down mobo overclocking out of box
Also setting the pbo to either limit thermally or depending upon the mode to eco levels 1,2,3
DONT USE THTAT AUTO OC SHIT
They definitely make it easier
All core -20
is that stable?
Yeahhh buddy's
its locked
Haven't updated drivers yet but whoever did those time spy scores did some wizardry for best*
Nah
eclk?
You can still tune it
Can't remember but i just remember there was a method
Having me beat by a whole 1k is nutz
.... howwww hrmmm I could tighten ram and push cpu 200 maybe, re enable cpb for a test hrmm. Mission for a non sleep deprived day
only thing you can do is offset VF curve ib a cpu where that dose not realy matter
if your going to spend time making faster DO RAM
Custom pump where the tubes all connect to a central section connected to a metal plate that heats your food up through boiling temps lmao
I think Intel is better suited for that
Bigger surface area too so it's easier aswell
amd R9 cpus if lap the IHS run very cool
I just got a razer blade 15 wtf is their charging port
It's an usb-c port but overengineered with magnets and prongs
Freaky

whats the best £800 card on the market right now? for some reason all the 7900xtx's are ridiculously expensive
is it just worth going for a 7900 xt instead or is there an nvidia option for better
9070XT?
Also if ur looking at last gen products look for them at the used markets instead
my friend wont go used I don't think, but I'll have a look, might be able to convince him
There's no difference in used vs brand new
In brand new you'll have a couple plastic peels
They can pre-order a 9070XT from overclockers for £649
Shipping in 1-2 weeks
I'll have a look
Ebuyer has a white 9070XT in stock for 679 pounds
Nice
Damn nice
what is nuvoton nct6798D?
Hey everyone, I have family is currently in the US for work reasons. and generally electronics in my country are quite a bit more expensive. are things already affected by the tariffs? is it still worth buying?
namely I'm looking to buy headphones. either sony or senheiser.
Do they use/need wifi
If its still cheaper than in your country then makes sense to buy it regardless of tariffs pricing
ignore the mobo, just say about £250/300 for the cpu
He can prolly stretch for a cooler
Do any Uk dealers do bundles
Scan do but its mostly just rrp pricing
And expensive bundles
Yeah, they are literally all rrp with like 10% markup
I looked at some stores and the prices seem to be up for the sony wh1000 xm4 for example. but I was wondering if anyone knew if that's the case everywhere before I scour a bunch of stores to make sure.
or maybe I'm just dumb and don't know how to check idk
Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice.
Over the past few months, I've been experiencing unusually high CPU temperatures, even when playing low-requirement games.
Initially, I suspected an issue with my CPU cooler pump, so I submitted an RMA request. Corsair were brilliant and quickly sent me a replacement — however, this didn’t resolve the issue. My CPU continued spiking over 80°C and sometimes even hitting 99°C according to the NZXT monitor.
Next, I arranged a CPU replacement through Intel, as they agreed there could be a fault. I installed the new CPU today, but unfortunately, the problem persists. Right now, while just sitting in a Call of Duty lobby, my CPU is sitting at 70°C, and during gameplay it reaches 80–90°C, which seems unusually high.
At this point, the only remaining component I can think to check is the motherboard.
For reference, my CPU is an Intel i9-13900K.
Any help or suggestions would be hugely appreciated!
Prices are super crazy rn for everyone. I'd give it a few weeks for our peeps to figure things out
i run with 32gb ram, and windows doesn't go above 8gb on it's own
I get trying to stimulate economys by promoting panic buying but like they got take it easy got businesses confused
Doesn’t that cpu run hot regardless of cooler? Try undervolting it
you have to do the hack/bug and make one of those xbox's run linux
Oh they all do fams splinter cell and a usb transfered linux load ❤️
It could be worth a try for sure, it just started happened out of the blue and I didnt change anything
Happening*
Had to backup all the eeproms and such and winscp to ftp in. Need to setup isnignia
Which corsair aio do you have btw?
9070xt + matx y/n?
I have the rx titan 360 and my 9800x3d reaches peaks of 85 c according to hardware monitor
During bo6
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700
Fatxplorer is ones friend for anyone looking to rev their old rig ❤️ beats the old chimploader hotswap of doom
A nice little upgrade from corsair because mine wasnt in stock, let me get the model for you, one sec
hehehe
Oh nice
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/fV7wkf better mobo tbh
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700
Mine has a wifi option so it's better long term when you might not have ethernet available at that moment
should accept a refund and get either an arctic aio orthermalright aio instead
That would be nice but I dont think its the cause for my overheating
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/dvz9ZJ wifi version instead, still a better mobo, and him being british, it should be easy getting ethernet setup tbh
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700
failing pump, failing fans, or poor mounting causes that
I found an LG Oled C1 55" for 100€ just needs a motherboard replacement which is another 100€
99%, unless the plastic was left on the mount (that's probs more frequent then 1% honestly maybe %10? It happens aloot xD)
That TV seems to go for around 600€ that are in working conditions
I'd get it but idh anything to pick it up with
My car is also in another country
So likely user error 🤣
Aio can be trixie sometimes when learning
Not sure what to do because I feel like ive tried everything
Isn't it way fucking overbuilt lol
Check these 2 threads

I've also been on the FE for like 2 years so who caresssss
I've literally never had my GPU get too hot haha
The 4080 fe does pretty solid I wouldn't pay it much mind. I had 2 4080s fe that mined 24/7 at 250-300 core and clocks 1200win 2400 on lin
They stayed sub 70c around 64-67
They do get alil noisey sometimes but same as any blower
the last one definitely is, the first 2 not so much
truthfully
I don't mod the bios on my card so I don't really care
"No zero rpm policy"
I'm looking at my GPU atm and the fan is not spinning.
Bios flashing I've heard mixed things
scrollwheel on a g502 = fidget spinner supreme
That has literally never happened to me in 10+ years
It's pretty rare these days luckily
My gpu doesn't run the fan at idle either but the newer gens only turn on after x temp is reached and once upon boot
tbf, with vbios it's best to have a saved backup of the original vbios incase it bricks
Doesn't sound to shabby
Bios only updates within the bios environment outside of laptops I want to say
And doing nothing else is required
And a bad bios update won't affect the gpu but the motherboard I think
Or wait raukoo halp I'm tired xD
It's the mobo or cpu, and yeah it's 5am kids had me up since 3am I'm not a person rn
bios's do, but vbios's can be done from the OS itself
tfw I install GPU driver update
and my screens instantly black out and haven't come back on

I'll just give it a few minutes before I force reboot it lol
Nah - I didn't have the nvidia drivers installed lol
If done through the app it should aways be ok even if interrupted these days right rauko? Or is the app still risky?
so I went to install Nvidia App + drivers
Like if they used command to upgrade the vbios and then like turned off wifi or booted down that myte have an issue I'd think hrm
I didn't have anything installed other than the default windows drivers
And did auto not custom right?
I did auto lol
Gameready*
auto express game ready
I swear ali has the most random recommendations ever
I'd give it a reboot should come back a black screen for a few seconds can happen
maybe technically, but nvidia control panel etc is great
@lethal bay you got your mouse yet
im a guy, ive never bought anything related to that and i only get skirts and lingerie, ive done 50+ orders of tech shit on aliexpres the algorith hates me
Same brb
I mean, i guess it makes sense atleast for me? being a woman and into keyboard
ayo how many fans can i daisy chain?
Nvm Mines actually tech today
not usually no afaik, but i can't say for sure with nvidia cards
depends on their rating, but generally 4-5 max
like, sure, yes, maybe? but that's not helpful advice lol
You can
hmm okay
the p500c case fans got these Connectors idk if its daisy but they go into each other and theyre 4
but you don't have to, it's otherwise bundled
as long as the amperage doesn't go above 1am all together
I don't know why you're advocating for not installing drivers
Kind of asinine advice
i have a pic of shit aliexpress has recommended me before but its kinda nsfw so im not gonna send it
how would i know
still risky if it ever gets interupted, good way to brick devices
Right it'd be sketchy forsure
look at the back of the fan, usually would tell u how much they draw
Heck I've even shutdown during a whole bios update luckily went straight back into the update even without the stick in. Just glad it didn't brick that was like my 2nd build xD

.15 allegadly, what the hell
rofl, i'm a dude, and despite what i've ordered hardware wise, let alone some tech stuff, it still shows me stuff that's nsfw when it comes to temu
then it's fine, it's going to draw .6 A
when upgrading from a 6700xt in the near future, choosing between 7900xtx and 9070xt drives me crazy, i don't know whether to prioritize fsr4, or more vram, usecase is gaming 1440p and content creation... What do yall think?
way under the 1A general limit for fan headers on most motherboards
Rauko you know you want the silk g strings and hot pink glasses
worry about it when you get to it
yeah that what happens to me, it was showing me bikinis and shit lmaoo, and some other more questionable ones
With with capacitors now 75% off
no point worrying about it now when you're not buying yet
Gotta keep you on your toes xD
I think AliEX takes in your searches on other platforms
wrong ones you're thinking of
one of the fan headers connectors are red for some reason, any idea why?
normally to indicate that it should be the fan header used by the CPU
Maybe I do buy stuff for my lady sometimes, makes sense all the sites gather our info these days
ie the fans that goes in your cooler
@rigid fjord https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DZXFqH what do we think?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Phanteks XT PRO ATX Mid Tower
yeah me too but its all keychains and stuff not BIKINIS
Did cubity reboot and have that blackscreen fixed or rip cubity?
it's decent but tbh, i'd get a 7600x and something like an idcooling a620se pro
7600x and 9600x here have a 20$ price difference
and thats the only sensible cooler i could have gotten
It was as I left whew
ggs
so i daisy chained them all, now i just need to plug one fan into the header right
you can save abit of money on b650 the put that savings on a better CPU
there are no non mATX B650's here 😔
I'd also swap out that PSU for something else, you can get RM850X for the same price with better components
is your case atx?
hell for the same price you might even get the rm1000x
yup
matx fits too
Used rmx1000x is noicee
no i know but i dont want a matx mobo
i want my pcie lanes
yeah i know but i have other pcie expeansions
oh
rm1000x is 300 and rm850x is 170
Dammn macs
yknow what, installing Windows might give me a headache.
Maybe I should just hang out in the BIOS forever.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Phanteks XT PRO ATX Mid Tower
optimized it for you
eva i would fucking love to more than you know
but im in Albania, there is no option here
i also wanted to get the same ram too yeah
what do you guys use to shop over there
They got our boy on aussy prices
currency is lei right?
The eagles not bad chunky lil heatsink
pffftt i shouldnt have put skroutz in there because most of the things in there are in Athens and they cant come here
by most things 98.78819%
hey there , im a student who's getting fresh into college this fall , i need a laptop for my 4 years in this place and need to run linux as because why not , is the asus proart p16 a good choice? (the 120hz one)
i just stuck something into a 3 and 4 pin
how about you.gr?
that one yes
This store in your area mac? I'm browsing
its a ryzen 9 ai hx chip (i really hate this name) , so its efficient asl and it also has like 64 gigs of ram
Yup
its not good its fucking amazing
get warshipped lol
aw
hmm intereseting
its such a cool chip but they gave it a name like " 9 aI hX " ts pmo icl
basically just change your mobo psu , cooler and ram
amd fucked up tha naming but whatever
true
mobo i dont mind changing ( as in i dont want to change it ), the pcie5 is nice because im willing to get a new drive, psu cooler and ram i dont know where to find
so , if i place the custom order (without network adapter , storage or windows license) i can get a pretty good deal and linux support since i get to fit in my own hardware in places where drivers are usually faulty
how much of a good deal
my vendor is saying 100 usd off , if i remove windows , 20 for the network adapter and 200 for the ssd , add it all up and i get this machine for (2000-320)=$1680
2000 bucks is NOT bad for amd newest laptop offerings and a rtx 4070
5070*
@frail topaz https://www.you.gr/anavathmisi-diktyaka/anavathmisi/trofodotika-ypologisti/trofodotiko-psu-corsair-rm850-gold-fully-modular good price, but it's white
and a 120 hz panel
oh yeah right
i know right dawg
its just the nvidia gpu which is a tad bit of a struggle
but i can jsut disable that in the bios
WOAH OK
just go thru the struggle or install pop os
or just bear with it since i am using arch btw
arch usually has good support with nvidia
its not worth disabling your gpu
since its yk , arch
its an rtx 5070 , it will suck up a lot of power and disabling it might help battery life?
itll only suck up battery life if youre activly using it
i want some different ram tho because its 6400@CL32
do you really want RGB ram?
whats wrong ?
Pfft i dont care that much
for AMD 6000@CL30 is ideal
no 6400 faster on 7000/9000 cpus
yeah but timings
wdym?
the 6400 ram is cl32
yes better
lower timing is better, you do know that right?
you cant do math can you
timing is delay in clocks
meaning you doing 3ghz and it takes 30 clock that 10ns vs 3.2ghz at 32 clocks that 10ns
and also causes issues with boot
ut higher mhz is just faster
fair
what about hardware accelaration
i wont be actively using it
oh shit ugh
but wont it be noticeable
it's fine on intel but on 7k it can cause issue, it's safer to go with 6000mhz cl30 for that reason as it's easier to run than 6400 cl32
dont ryzen cpus only support ddr5 till 5600mt/s?
yes
5200 for 7000/8000 and 5600 for 9000
you using xmp?
nah
wow jedec user nice
nah , im just too lazy to set it up or risk damaging anything
6000MT/s cl30 is the sweetspot rn
for jdec / stock yes
for XMP no, it can go higher
how do the AI chips hit like 7650mt/s if the ryzen chips themselves cant hit more than 5600mt/s
i mean sure its onboard memory but still
you can hit way more than 5600MT/s
on stock?
no
because it's overclocked
is that not bad for long term stabillity or does asus know what they are doing
anything over 6000MT/s can cause issues but 6000MT/s is still the sweetspot
or does asus know what they are doing (planned obscelence)
amd was marketing ddr5 8000 suprot on there x870 now that was a meme
support is not a hard limit, it's what it can officially support with XMP / Expo
ah
i see
XMP/EXPO is completely safe
No, it's not bad for long term stability, does asus know what they're doing? probably
wait so i can overclock my laptop's ram and possibly increase its megatransfers? (im on a 4th gen ryzen currently)
higher mhz offen faster just 6000 is highest speed that most run and if you just set 6000 its 3:3:2
its currently at 3200mt/s
laptop offen locked down hard
ah that sucks
yes you can if the laptop allows it but it's a very lengthy process
it took me hours to get my 6800MT/s cl38 overclock stable
its an msi laptop , probably thrown somewhere in their hidden bios
set what to 3:3:2?
M:U:F
still shouldnt risk it tho
