i have 2x2tb NVMEs as the cache drive in my NAS, with 4x6tb (3x6 with 1 parity) HDDs as the main storage. was ALMOST going to go full solid state, but, once you push over 2tb, the prices diverge pretty quickly

yeah thats what i found, up to around 2tb, the prices for HDD and SSD are not that far apart, but once you get to 3tb, 4tb and above... SSDs become wildly more expensive than HDDs

My keycaps have the letters see-thru, and I remembered LTT making a video about DIYing custom keycaps. I wonder how difficult would it be to redo the see-thru part on a keycap so that I can have for example wingdings characters on the keycaps. As it's a membrane keyboard, I can't replace the keycaps (there's no custom replacements avaliable)

Was thinking about sanding the black coating away, covering it with a new layer of "paint-like" substance and then applying a template to either dissolve the letter or scratch it

It depends how they were made in the first place, but honestly it will be a lot of work and/or a lot of money, and you'd really want to love it to do that to a non mechanical keyboard

Guys help I am stuck with a 2022 HP ENVY x360 and the battery is dying already, it’s filled to the brim with bloatware, the fingerprint sensor barely works, it’s slow as heck, and it’s bent. I am looking for a new laptop within the price range of about ¥100,000 ($1,000)
