The login anonymous part means you're not signing in with a specific account. So it has no way of knowing if you actually own it

I had a hard time configuring my Hyper-V to connect to other computers on the host network, in the end it was the fucking firewall and I had been smashing my head against the wall for a few days.
Basically double tunneling, but overall tunnel is web traffic outbound (any monitoring shows it as regular outbound https traffic)

I had one office that hated that we blocked certain sites so they would walk in there and hit the pin whole reset to factory and then 10min later ask why they couldn't access any of the corporate stuff and I would look and say umm because you removed all the vpn info

I'm in the process of setting up this company right now, but nothing on site except 1 router and enough switches for the computers. Everything else is cloud managed. If those computers are on the internet, they follow our settings. No local admin account to override.

I opened 10 ports for mine... 7777 - 7787, 15000 - 15010, 15777 - 15787 .. etc.
in my coal plant area I went as far as painting the water machine the pipes the power poles for each set of machines so I knew which was powering and which sub parts went to which ones

I made a barebones debian with just enough for steamcmd/satisfactory. But all my saves have mods...
most were saying 4 was enough with an OS that is more bare bones because windows pretty much needs 8 for it's self
I'll never know that server has 196g of ram so even running multiple vm's I never hit 50%
min should be what will run an empty save.. it should be more like min that would run reasonably thru the game
mid to late alot are 8gb or more used if they have the ram
I think that is a clear difference between Linux run servers and windows run ones.

There are no commands except for exit and server.SaveGame
without satisfactory running, it uses 158MB. With server installed but no saves running/open it jumps to 786mb

I had the server crash creating a new game when constrained to 4GB. With 8GB it worked fine.
5 players over hours, never had any issues. We'll see what late game looks like.

Hi folks. Playing a new dedicated server with a couple of mates. As soon as I try to shoot the rebar gun the game core dumps - easily repeatable. Where do I log that?

I've been saving but haven't tried loading so not sure (logged into server as admin) when I hit save the ONLY saves that show up is the current game and it doesn't save it on my computer so I'm going with it does save on the dedicated

my dedicated server is on linux
jump mine is at 14g right now (not sure what my server uses without the game though) and we are just to tier 6 with 1 of each material machines and the constructer stuff having maybe 3 machines each
I did not. This was a linux container - the whole system had 128GB, but the dedicated server was only allowed 4GB before the kernel would OOM kill it.

Memory usage is a funny thing. Many apps will eat a lot more than they actually need. Constrained to less, you might find it still runs fine.

I remember for killing floor 2, you need steam off to install the server through cmd, but you need it on to download workshop items. If you opened it too early, it would crash, if you opened it too late it wouldn't download

u can change state of triggers for events and such so u can mess with save more with less ram
I figured out the Issue i believe.. for my issue turns out the client that first connects to the server has the server information on it.. found the server file on my other machine and now i was able to redo my server woot its up and running lol..

Is the steps to create a pterodactyl server the same as doing it normally?
whenever you need to update, just go over to the settings tab and click "reinstall"
it'll update the server and you won't lose your savegames (but it's always a good thing to make backups before doing so!)
if you install pterodactyl, it'll use docker to run the server for you

if you check the wiki, you'll notice it uses an anonymous account during the SteamCMD install process

- Rent vServer or Cloud Server
- Install OpenVPN
- Setup OpenVPN Client/Server to tunnel all Traffic
- Modify IPtables to forward vServer Ports to your Client (in my case 10.8.0.2)

try to verify your serverfiles if its your own dedicated server, check or verify client files. The last today patch is working with client and server, my client is on CL#170636 and i'am currently connected to an dedicated server.
He sent me the Error the Server shows.
Make sure all satisfactory precesses is ended in task manager.

the folder and/or its files are locked/in use. Make sure the process for the server isn't running.

The PC, on wich the dedicated Server is running, is not running the Game itself. So the problem shouldn't occur.
All worked fine, and perfectly stable so far, until the last patch.

try rebooting your machine and not starting unnecessary apps before running the update (that's what he 0x606 error might be)

That's ignorable, I haven't had any issues running a server with that warning
Make sure your server and clients are the same version, you can check the server console/logs for what version it's running. Most issues I've seen are people not using the +force_install_dir in updates

Unless you script it to run the update in your system, you'll have to run it manually to update the server

well then they are not opened... you need to redirect the ports using your router and open the ports in your local firewall of the system like windows/linux
You need to check your firewall/router if you have one, if you have one you'll need to port forward those ports to the internal server, all ports are UDP

Not sure what VDS is, but sounds like you need to investigate the path from the internet to your server, make sure any firewalls have the ports allowed and if necessary forwarded.

No, sorry that was for @bleak salmon, as to your question. I'm not familiar enough with windows networking to speak to what you need to do to open ports and such. The issue seems to be that you aren't getting communication from the internet to your server. I would start making sure everything is open and forwarded properly.

The FactoryServer.exe binary you are using to run the server. Make sure you are in the directory you used in +force_install_dir

So if I take what you posted for your install/update command then the directory you should be in to run the .exe file (not sure where your .bat is located) should be C:\steamcmd\SatisfactoryDedicatedServer

Sounds like your paths are off then, double check your install command. Paths need to be absolute.

you can run a quit from the in game console or ctrl-c from the console you started the server under, if you are on Linux, sending a SIGINT to the process will also gracefully shut it down

if you're having issues just do the commands one at a time... so, type login anonymous <enter>, and then force_install_dir C:\steamcmd\SatisfactoryDedicatedServer <enter> etc

simple solution to the version mismatch between client and server is to simple delete the steamcmd directory and the dedicated server directory and start again
I wrote an egg for pterodactyl a few hours after release, and outside of them changing a port command switch, no issues with it.
but lacks some finer contorl but that will be resovled once conslol command and saves menu are add/fixed

took a while to sort something out, but the end result was that McMyAdmin users could use their existing licence with AMP - albeit only for Minecraft servers

that sounds like a hosting issue. Normally a server that dies will revert to the last autosave

Not sure if this has been asked or not, but is there a way to save the world without logging into the game itself? I just lost a lot of progress because the last save was at 2AM this morning and I couldn't log in to save before updating a few minutes ago because of a version mismatch after the game updated, but the dediserv didn't.

It should autosave every 5 minutes the game is active, in addition to saving every time a player disconnects
Yeah, it only autosaves every 5 minutes when there's a player in the world and upon disconnect, but not when there's no player in the world.
