that's fine haah

noble sluice
#

forward TCP and UDP 7777 to your server IP...
That means 2 rules need to be made.

sudden sphinx
#

.

noble valve
#

well, you did the restart

how are your other resources? ram, disk latency/iops/usage ?

broken parcel
#

again i don't really think it's the actual server, i think it's the satisfactory server

#

i ran it on update 8 before 1.0 litterally the same day and played on it for a bit, and it was going flawlessly like usual

noble valve
#

i dont have any tickrate issues, i only have a relative high ping, my ping is 17ms which is for other game servers below 2ms

broken parcel
noble valve
#

let me boot the game

#

medium

broken parcel
#

mhhh

#

what does that setting actually do btw?

noble sluice
noble valve
#

how much data it sends in 1 message i believe

#

but i do not see any real difference in changes, i got internal 100gbit connection and 2gbit external

broken parcel
#

sorry i'm not too good at this stuff

noble valve
#

i am not the guy who created the net code, but this is their explanation

from what i understand it sends bigger packets at once i would stay around medium/high if you got good networking and your cpu can keep up

broken parcel
#

i'll try and leave it on medium and see

sudden sphinx
broken parcel
#

thanks for the help

sudden sphinx
broken parcel
#

from what i gathered from the preview video of coffeestain

noble valve
#

yup

#

click this tcp thingy and try to make it udp & tcp

sudden sphinx
noble valve
#

then you need to create 2 rules, one using udp and another tcp

#

but you still need to add to adress and to port fields

sudden sphinx
#

the action section is complelty diffrent

#

from example

sudden sphinx
noble valve
#

what does this drop down menu give you?

I'm aware I probably have to wait until the Mod Manager updates, but are there any working discord bots that link the game server chat to discord?

sudden sphinx

latent raven

Passthrough sounds like a good candidate. Does it change, when you select that?

still canyon
sudden sphinx
mint zinc
#

What a shame though, I don't know why something like discord integration isn't bundled/added to the server side stuff.

still canyon
#

its not that hard to connect discord bot to the server API, but we dont have chat functionality)

#

Now i'm interested if mods could enchance HTTPS API with new endpoints... ๐Ÿค”

latent raven
# sudden sphinx

Okay, could you also show me what it shows on top, if you expand the Src. Address Node?

sudden sphinx
#

Chain expands to

#

forward

#

input
output

latent raven
#

What happens if you try forward?

latent raven
# sudden sphinx

And regarding the action, what does it show, when selecting accept?

sudden sphinx
latent raven
#

And thats all for the action tab for both options? I can see you can scroll, but it might be just the other sections.

sudden sphinx
#

yeah

#

thats it

#

its Statistics tab

#

idk

latent raven
#

Sorry, me neither. I wish I could help.

#

Does anything change once you apply it?

Hey guys! i am having issues with blueprints on my dedicated server. Seems to be kicking everyone whenever someone tries to save it. im hosting it on g-portal. any suggestions?

robust plinth
#

Hi Everyone, could you please help me with the following?

I've tried to setup my dedicated server, it is only, i can see it running but for my friends it shows offline.
Port 7777 15000 15777 are open and everything is good.
I've used Steamcmd.

Any idea?

worthy saddle
#

Port 7777 is good enough, but you have to make sure to open it for tcp and udp both

keen tide

Good afternoon, I have a dedicated server on 8x CPU 32 GBs RAM
I've started using Blueprints heavily in the last two days, somehow today I'm starting to get Timeout (and the server crashes).
I have no mods and no modifications made, it's a simple vanilla setup.
You can see attached it has enough resources for sure but it still crashes, any idea what might have went wrong ?
Before I started using Blueprints I had 0 timeouts/crashes.
I can only see the following errors:

Sep 22 14:22:18 satisfactory-server FactoryServer-Linux-Shipping[38963]: LogOnlineSchema: Error: Invalid schema category lobby: Service descriptor id lobby not found.
Sep 22 14:22:18 satisfactory-server FactoryServer-Linux-Shipping[38963]: LogOnlineSchema: Error: Invalid schema category lobbymember: Service descriptor id lobbymember not found.

PS: The game/server crashes when I press Clear Blueprint Designer and sometimes when I use specific blueprints.

I would assume it's because of that belt maybe ? Is it possible that one of the blueprints bugged and it's doing this ?

Thank you!

PS: I have removed all the blueprints that I've created recently from the server, restarted the server and re-created some of the blueprints again. Now it looks stable, somehow it might have bugged before ?
PS2: Now even if the bugged blueprint doesn't exist, when I clean the blueprint creator (from a total different blueprint) the bugged one pops up, wtf ?

I might have some bad news for you if you're running a dedicated server.
I was running mine with 4x CPU and 16 GBs of RAM, it was LAGGY as fuck. ( I mean, 2 seconds to pull your sword )
After bumping to 8x CPU and 32 GBs of RAM, everything is instant & smooth
This happened right at the start, without any building or any complex setup, literally just 2 miners on the map.
Vanilla, no mods, no modifications, nothing extra.

iron scarab

short flower
wary bane
# wary bane it prolly has something to do with the fact that each player atm can have multip...

Generally, the first byte of the ID indicates the type of Online Backend used (1 for >Epic Games Store, 6 for Steam, see values in UE's EOnlineServices type), and the following bytes are specific to the Online Backend, but generally represent the player account ID. For Steam, it would be a big-endian uint64 representing the player's SteamID64, and for Epic, it would be a HEX-encoded EOS ProductUserId string.
so given u connect ur epic account, to your steam install or vice-versa you may have 2 ids

iron scarab
short flower
#

it can be due to config issues then, make sure you connect to the local ip directly and that the server doesnt crash

#

with default configs, should run fine

fluid prawn
# wary bane you can set server password to control who plays

For a public community this is easily bypassed even if you had a whitelist and give the password to those that only ask. Someone that was banned would just create a Discord alt and ask for the new password, just hard to trace and I have no single clue why the devs didn't implement such a standard feature (again for 3 years straight ๐Ÿค”)

iron scarab
#

thats just it.. i have default configs, i can jump into the server and not even 2 minutes later. i get that error. then just close the game. reconnect to the server. the server doesn't even crash. or shutdown. its stays up. i just get kicked

how do i change the direction of a conveyer lift floor hole? i want it to go downwards

iron bear
#

Our server has becoming nearly unplayable. The visual glitches are out of control. The material bug isn't the end of the world, but it's annoying to have to relog just to see the right materials on things. Decal rotations don't place the way they're visualized anymore, which is annoying but not awful. The big issue now is that trees will randomly exist when you log in even though they have been removed. They stop being able to be removed after a few minutes as well. So it's just this constant logging-off and logging back on when you need to do tree work. Vehicles also "See" the trees when this happens, so all transportation is screwed.

192.168.1.1(IP)/api/v1 - This works to pull from, given you've also done server.GenerateAPIToken and put your bearer token in whatever script you're running also

# peak vessel Mine. Mine does. Mine goes to sleep. I do not keep it on 24/7.

if it is not online 24/7, then shutdown the service before suspending the server, then start the dedicated server again when you resume the server.

most servers do not go to sleep, going to sleep will cause the dedicated server to loose its network connections, and is unable to recover from it.

it seems you would be the first person to report this type of behaviour so there is no known workarounds other than keeping it online 24/7 or be sure to stop the dedicated server before sleeping, and starting it again after it wakes.

Trying to run my server has been BRUTAL.
Using playit.gg to generate a sharedIP for the server.

I can join it.
My friends can add the server and see it online but are unable to join due to connection timed out.
Anyone had this and been able to get around it?

steel osprey
#

if yes; fix your network

#

playit.gg isa for homehosters and it looks like, you didnt setup your network correkt.

you should check out default gateway from ipconfig in windows or ip route show in linux. Head there with your web browser, log in to your router and set up port forwarding and static ip dhcp for your server

#

so git good before asking for help? ๐Ÿ™‚

i was being sarcastic. I'm not a mod, and I don't dictate what is ot and what is not. But I'm glad to help if I can, and not whine about having to read other people's problems.

Im using playit gg because starlink routers do not support port forwarding but kk thx

i bet starlink support can help; they get a lot of money from you

And if you can join and not your mate, then its a problem in your home network

lmfao dude you're giving discord mod energy.
How dare i come to a satisfactory discord with an issue getting people connected to my dedicated server and ask for help.

does playit.gg limit anything such as connectivity speeds, ive heard of it but never used it.

not a problem with the server

Only thing he's done so far is tell people they're in the wrong place to ask

And talk about how the dedicated servers have absolutely no problems with them

Hello. I see massive fps drops when riding the hypertube (or flying after taking an hypertube cannon) towards my main base. I have a quite large base, so my guess is maybe there's trouble when loading all the assets in this area (probably a different chunk of the world, too ?) : fast travel = lots of assets to load in a short period of time, probably.
I'm having trouble figuring out if it's a server or client related issue (since it's graphical assets, I would guess the dedicated server doesn't have much to handle in this particular case ? idk)

Are there known issues (and hopefully solutions) to this ? Is this a common issue ? I have done a search, both online and this very discord server, and most of the time it's people having slow Internet or low-end hardware on their server, which is not my case.

I was running my dedicated server from my laptop, playing on my main PC. I went on a trip, playing on my laptop, then when I got home, trying to load the save on the dedicated server crashes, every time, giving the error in the picture. I can run it fine in client, but not on the dedicated. (No Mods or anything) D:
Any ideas what the cause could be?

feral dawn

also @distant linden - does playit.gg allow you to specify UDP/TCP and both?, because if so you need both.

any information on a fix for the server going offline when certain players disconnect?

u can see them attempting to connect on the servers console?

I can yes

They timeout after 60s though

20-24 Gb are given to the Docker container

I'm not too sure how latency sensitive Satisfactory is, i understand your using Starlink where latency can be all over the place.

#

perhaps u can try something different, such as ngrok (not totally free) or radmin.

#

you can also use a VPN provider, such as AirVPN which support port forwarding @distant linden

ok, should be enough. Is this a new Factory or an old save?

we have long belts across the map. I wondered if this, too, couldn't cause issues since we have had occurrences of items being invisible on some of the longest ones

Sorry one other question. It seems weird that hes getting booted after 60s when I've set my engine.ini file to allow for 3 minutes.
Does client side need to change this file as well?

hollow shore
#

can't this be set in Engine.ini or something ? This is a docker container, so I would have to mess with the compose to alter the command line

it'll most likely be the latest one that was placed down, if u know which one that is u can try to remove only that.

hopful they fix it proper soon, because a few of my builds crash the server if i delete a belt lol.

go to the Interactive Map, and on the right is a click/drop your save file here.

perhaps some additional logic decides if its enabled or not, or the settings changed since a patch, i dunno. ๐Ÿคท
in either case, when folks have tried using/setting it, folks had noticed a difference.
