The extra temperature sensor I inserted into the GPU heatsink for case fan speed control, near the power plug, seems to be working nicely.
As the MB firmware can control each fan header with temperature from up to three temperature sensors.
So set them to CPU, MB and that extra sensor.

i did an OS swap a couple years ago on two systems, one AMD one Intel. the AMD one had 0 issues with it, the Intel system needed a complete OS reinstall because it didn't like that the old OS got its hands filthy with AMD hardware

Ok, the VRAM leak problems were at least party caused by changing AA settings in Radeon Settings.
From default Application Preferences & Multisampling to Enhance Application & Adaptive Multisampling.
That combo caused leak both in Control and Satisfactory.

Which was in a way to be expected.
Those were for times when MSAA etc. still worked.

Just something I started to put the settings when they were added LONG time ago.

Now I am able to get rid of the update 1.0.11.0 and now I try to update again, it doesn't find the 1.0.11.0. Maybe it realized I have 1.2.0.0 installed. What is going on.

Think of your computer like a factory. The CPU gets a bunch of parts on a truck from SSD and RAM, and builds them into a frame of the game. How is troubleshooting more difficult? Most places would say it's the memory, and although the what it did seems like more of a failure on the cpu, I'll change the memory and hope it's the memory too.

I could replace the cpu, but for new color... or used color with "new" being $10 more at that price it's really not worth it if it is the cpu. it's a $500 laptop, and with the amount of work required to replace a bga IC + my labor it's not worth it to a customer at that price.

and when a whole new motherboard is $60... yay ewaste.

not as easy no, this dell laptop is pretty nice.. good display. taking it apart there's screws on the bottom and the bottom cover pops off. there's clips, but no hidden screws under the feet like on other laptops
