Since smelters by default take 30 items per minute shouldn’t I use a MK1 belt (60 items per minute) to feed the required amount of resources per minute as close as feasible to the requested amount?

Regardless if I use a faster belt it’s just going to consume 30 per minute and just stock pile in the machine. Plus wouldn’t it take longer to fill up the manifold with all MK4 than Mainline MK4 and the input lines being MK1?

If you do them purely from iron and no other resource (can show you the design) it is very simple. 300 iron = 5.4 motor

You can but it looks pretty funky, best done in a blueprint, but you just nudge it into place

You can make constructors pretty compact anyway, 4 rows of two, then combine 2 side by side and then you can encase it in beams and frame foundations and stack em
