Just to set expectations: map expansions are basically not going to happen outside of very major stuff like hypothetical new DLC or "Satisfactory 2" or whatever (neither of which have been even hinted at yet)

They've thought about snow as an environmental effect but the work required to make it look decent while retaining performance (at least if done the way they'd want to do it) has been too high to justify. Though on that front, who knows what the future may bring

Anyone know why my prebuilt elevators with splitters that are attached to a roof floor hole do not connect to the elevators on the top side? Every time I have to build the ones on top first, then replace the ones on the bottom to make it connect. This is a problem since I'm using logistics floors with floor holes in the ceiling, and I want to be able to do the elevators on that floor before adding the floor above it. Seems like this isn't possible?

no, you have to build the machines first for a lift to snap. But if lift output isn't too close to machine input, you can connect lift to machine with a belt no problem

Codeweavers (who make Crossover) are the primary corporate sponsor of Wine, btw, and have been for years. Wine is the foundation of all Windows-gaming-on-Linux. You're using Wine when you run any Windows app on Linux. Valve's version is branded "Proton," but it's the same stuff in the backend
You said the version for life though and that one costs 500 usd which is just not a reasonable price in my opinion

The "lifetime subscription" you refer to is to keep getting updates, which aren't necessary.

Crossover is Codeweavers' commercial product which, yes, is based on Wine. Like many companies supporting opensource software, they have a model where the software remains opensource but they have a paid version with support and potentially extra custom bits on top (like I assume Crossover still has GUI prefix management and such)
There's nothing sinister about Codewavers selling a commercial product; it's how they stay in business
Wine (and Valve's Proton) would be in a far weaker state without the literal decades of development that Codeweavers have put into the codebase

The main thing you get by buying Crossover is commercial support for a specific suite of apps which they spend time QAing and supporting. AFAIK it's more geared towards businesses and the like, but I admit it's been a long time since I've looked too closely. :)

Long before Proton and the near-ubiquity of Windows-games-on-Linux I was happily paying money for Crossover versions; for many apps+games it was your best shot at compatibility and a good experience

Anyway, yes, wine is free, as is Proton. :D For a Linux gamer who mostly just wants to play games, I agree that Crossover may not be worth your dollars given the (equally impressive) work that Valve continues to do to support it

precision only goes to the 4th decimal. However you can get this number by doing calculations in the UI, never got any issue like this

The one i’m using now runs satisfactory miles better through two different layers of translation (satisfactory-> crossover -> rosetta 2 -> M4) than my old laptop

I've found that the best way to make conveyors over any surface look good is to build conveyor tunnels. But that may be a little bit too much work before blueprint designer.

Since trying experimental I've been making a lot more use of trucks and I am in love with them
this is not true though. No matter how you put it, the precision will always be the 4th decimal of the clock percentage. But it's precise enough not to cause issues
As a last resort you can make curve foundations in vanilla. with rail splines by putting pillars under the splines at regular intervals using the noitches in the spline. the resulting foundation have enogh overall that one can even widen the curve.

sence your curve follwed the rail and belts on them will be curved perfectly and look good

rail splines give you more flexibilty.
don't worry I do the same and I never noticed machine stalling. when doing that it's a good idea to prefill the last machines on the manifold just to be sure
I connect the lower floors to power and let it fill up completely before the next floor is done anyway.

its possibly the most natural thing to do ever to zoop curves. Thiers still time you want to make manual curves understanding cat walk trick lets you make large pie sections that you can build machines inside. perfect cicrles are not optimal build areas.

satisfactory runs excellently on both arch systems I've run it on (better than windows did, as a matter of fact)
barring one small issue I can't seem to figure out where running the game for more than 24 hours causes a crash
no I just leave my factories runnign while I'm doing stuff and forget about it when I go to bed

You have diagonal Metal Beam or Painted Beams, it's a build mode. I think pillars are only vertical or horizontal
I just need to figure out where all the resources I'm gonna need are and what the best way to go about doing it is

found a bug in experimental, dont know if its in base also. If you attach a spliter/merger before you attach the other lift end to a floor lift hole, it will bug out the lift and disconnect it from the lift hole.

thats a lot of extra work over most fuel types
packaged turbofuel is better than batteries and far less of a resource hog too

and the drones absolutely scream with rocket fuel, ridiculously fast

m trying to make blueprints in 1.2 but they arent saving on my end. They do however save on the hosts end (my friend) yet, when he places them down they don't load properly and are invisible. How would we go about fixing this issue?

I have an oil extractor overclocked at 300m^3 a minute feeding into 5 refiners making fuel to later turn into turbo fuel and I can’t get it to balance

for my factories should i have 1 factory dedicated to each material and create new ones as I grow, like currently 1 drill is feeding into 1 factory that is making, plates, screws, rods, reinforced plates and rotors. should I instead dedicate the factory to 1 of these and then create new separate ones for the others and link them all into 1 hub and travel in-between with hypertubes
its generally considered a bad idea to try and make all of one part in one place
i tend to make parts where I need them in a chain
so I dont for example attempt to make modular frames in only one place and distribute to where needed
instead I make modular frames in lots of places where they are needed

at 2/min, first nuke gen fills at 1/min (50/50 split) until its full inside. then 0.2/min will be diverted to that one, 2nd gen then gets 0.9/min (half 0f 1.8) until thats full, then 3rd gets 0.8/min (half 0f 1.6/min) and so on

I'd be happy if they just made the "rings" on pipes a bit better somehow... Flow is rarely a stable number anyway, so I don't see a need to have a number displayed over a pipe (without having to interact with it)
I mean, essentially a meter would be useless on any pipe not running max flow because pipes rely on average flow
and you will immediately know if a pipe isn't at max flow because machines are stuttering
so what would be the point?
