How does one calculate how long a trains max distance is?

Am I dumb for thinking I can take how many carts I have x that by how many the items stacks too and how many it can hold if each and then dividing that by how much is going in too give me a rough estimate

The tempered ones? , if you're nowhere near water and have spare coke, have at it.

Doubles your output of ingots as compared to the smelter recipe and is generally easy to set up because there's usually copper and iron nearby each other

Yes. The max output of ingots is from pure copper, but that requires refineries and water and is more annoying to set up

Refineries are really big and you need more of them

At the cost of coke, if you're in a position to do so, pure is less effort, but in my case, I built two foundries burning coke because the distance to nearby water was too much effort for me.

funny enough, i can setup a foundry with iron/coal and the other with a alt copper recipe. the best part? i found a location where there’s copper, coal and iron nodes in one area. water is slightly further away than i’d like, but still accessible lol

well i (at 4am one night) decided the BEST way was to have a smart splitter on the center, going into priority merger(on a lower priority than the other machine on that merger), this then goes into a splitter with 2 outputs, a mk2 and a mk4, this equals exactly 600 and introduces the 600/min bottleneck, then the other output of the smart splitter (set to overflow) gets merged with the third machine. Thus making 2x600/min

it seemed more... sophisticated... than just "Manifolding" the output to two different lines
