why not 1200 hmf/m
@wary sonnet since you mentioned alts.
show us in screenshots
i want to see the dedication
I’ll boot up the game real quick and grab a few then
I have a main factory in my starting area then a steel and aluminum one that get brought in with trains currently
The dilemma I have (I just started phase 4) is whether I want to think about the space elevator parts now, or just not think about it until I've done all the milestones and then deal with it then.....
Like I have the phase 3 parts automated over by crater lake (excluding the adaptive control unit, I just manually did those to finish phase 3). But will those be enough for phase 4? Can I just drone them over to a new facility to assemble phase 4 parts or do I want to set up a bigger line for the previous components than I currently have?
id say plan for it somewhat, but you dont need to start on it now. Also, i would automate ACU's, even just a small amount cause you need them for assembly director systems, then you need assembly director systems for biochemical sculptors
I have 20/min versatile framework and 5/min modular engine right now.
Also 10/min automated wiring I think.
I can ship those out once I get drones and automate ACUs and the rest downstream, but I'm not sure if that will be enough of these base components
why not bring em over with trains, or even trucks
Yeah trains too but I need to think more about how to set up my train network, will definitely work on that this phase
Done
I can also grab pics of my steel and aluminum but those are pretty small
Point is I'm not sure whether I want to build more production of the phase 3 elevator parts to buffer against phases 4 and 5 or not
very clean, i like how u got diagonal platforms going too
are you using the CTRL snap for platforms at all?
and just making diagonal also?
I probably should but no I didn’t use the world grid
yea it looks kinda cool with that unique spacing
I made this mistake of the 1st 2 playthrough, I use the world grid now, so convenient lol just makes it look weird sometimes on initial planning cause it doesn't go exactly the way you want it
I do like having my little platforms of stuff scattered around yeah
i snap everything to world grid unless i know for sure im not connecting it to anything else
I mean none of my things are really connected apart from the conveyer lines taking copper parts to the iron line
I often use the world grid unless I want to follow the terran. Then I follow the terran.
Honestly I’m most proud of my steel factory it looks so beautiful
I got the iron from the cliff above so it’s almost like a waterfall coming down to the factory
#design-and-architecture message
opinions on my train spiral?
That is really nice
im gonna go back and look at what my first save looked like
yea the game gets really fun when you star using the foundry to make more complex stuff... still needs a roof tho
thanks
The skill people have with building is awesome
i dont usually try to build good looking stuff lol
I don’t know how to decorate well so I’m using open concept factories lmao
thats the first blueprint ive made for aesthetics
@bleak valley
Thoughts about your screen shot.
Don't upgrade your facility. Leave it as is.
If you want more then that facility produces just upgrade the miner throw a smart splitter infront setting. New line to overflow. Send the ore to a new facility.
This gets around the bad feeling of changing or dismantling your old facility.
It also preserves it so you can see your growth as a player.
I’m a Minecraft builder so I really like decorating but I’m not very great at it lol
a roof is not decoration

Yeah I'm keeping my machines organized and neat but all my factories just have no walls or ceilings except multiple floors right now lmao. I'll go back and turn them into real buildings later
my god what is this save i just loaded up
holy shit this is terrible what was i thinking
I actually never thought of doing a splitter like that. Very helpful tip thank you
I’ve been fighting the urge to start a new save since I know I’m not very far into the game
why is there just 2 mk1 belts going into 4 storage crates 😭
WHY IS THERE A SINGLE COAL GEN WITH A 500m LONG PIPE GOING TO WATER
Now that’s peak
why do i have imkibitz old save from pre 1.0
reminds me of when i used to source my resources naturally ... yikes, spaghetti
and why is it taking so long to load up
unless u wanna use all drones
all of my factories look like unfinished apartment buildings lmao
concrete is a fantastic resource
all my factories look like a concrete slab with machiens on it
A good chunk of bad feelings is the self pushed need for efficiency. So I have tried to think of way to avoid that ^-^.
I used to be like this. Then, thanks to the glory of the awesome shop....
All my factories now look like a COATED concrete slab with machines on it! 🙃
my factories look like beautifully erected temples to the machine spirit, i'll have to post some screens soon
after i build a world with like 20 massive christmas trees and 20 nuclear plants, and then another world with a perfectly symmetrical modular motor factory i needed a break
i have to say the place with the arch waterfall is probably my favorite place to build, a lot of cool places around there
I’m glad this discord exists none of my friends are interested in the game but I’ve been dying to talk about it :D
And now I’m getting tips from pros lol
As long as we all can understand its a sandbox game any there is a many of ways to approach the task at hand its a great community
the only way to play is to make everything 100% efficient and perfectly use every resource on the map. Fiscsit does not waste
whats everyones favorite method of early travel?
The zip line is awesome
Oh ok, do you need to place the power lines then one end higher than the other?
early travel? all time travel is zipline. Because zipline is cool.
Nope it’s powered so doesn’t matter the incline
I dont like hypertubes... zipline is where its at 🙂↕️
Ziplines should be mandatory, a must. 🙂↕️
Nope
Awesome so do you just make a stair case up to the power tower?
People who dont use ziplines should be forced to download Windows 11
There is one with a ladder
Nooooooooooo
And normal powerlines
Thanks I hadnt even looked at it that closely
Zip line in anything with a power line
Awesome thanks yall, saves me driving 3000m for some oil
Power towers make the zip line even better since you can right click and be locked onto the line
You can scale cliffs with it also
Ziplining on power towers. I rush power towers.
Hyper tube cannons are fun now that I’ve experienced one
I must be missing out nearly everyone recommended them.
Vomit cannons for some of us lol
I've seen cannon launchers on youtube, you need a jetpack to break your fall or is there another item you can use?
Very sad you need a Jjetpack to survive
You guys don't make sidewalks and use the walk key to rp?
Yes or those green things but you need a jet pack
Ok thanks, is fuel ok for the jetpack or should i rush turbofuel instead?
question. Water + coal combo can produce max 600MW? Or i can make it bigger to have more
depends on how much coal you have, i make 2400 with coal
i have 4 coal mines if thats what ur asking
also, iis it me or do the kitty faces not make the spiders any less terrifying
how many MW can i get out of 4 coal mines?
Hey everyone! This guy is afraid of kittys!
depends on the purity of the node, the miiner on it and overclock rates
idk whats overclock on this game
I use liquid biofuel until I get packaged ionized
75 x 4
you'll figure that out along the way, do you know how node purity works?
Ok, you also must package the biofuel?
Yah
but im getting 600MW from it
Can't have it on you otherwise
so that dont make sense
each overclocked generrator produces 137.5 MW of power i think
i have 4 coal mines, 4 water extractors + 8 coal generators
Parachute
making 600MW
you can definitely get more out of that
One coal miner can power four gens on its own iirc
187.5. 75 * 2.5
The ground breaks the fall too (and if full hp you don't die 🤣 )
so i should have double? 16 coal generators and keep 4 water extractors?
Bio fuel gives the slowest speed but greatest height.
For the most part its preference. I like rocket fuel
That’s it, I made it! Automated everything except for the 3 Phase 2 elevator products so I’ll get to Phase 3 soon! My steel factory/1200 MW coal plant now produces steel beams/steel pipes/encased industrial beams/rotors/motors/stators/modular frames, but everything is at very small scale if you see what I mean (5, 10, max 20 per item, depends on the product), but at least, everything’s automated. BIG STEP!
Overclocking generators is not worth imo, all it saves on is space
gotta say that I love how, in early game the map felt sooooo sooooo big, but now that my factories and buildings span some quilometers and how theres a lot of them, specially rail way tracks, and with jetpack/hoberpack, everything feels like 10 times small now
Biofuel have longest burn time in jetpack
And space is basically infinite
It doesn't give greatest height
will you unlock better power generators levling up?
Yes
You can also make compact coal which has longer burn rates.
Generally speaking people rush to coal to get off biomass. Then rush oil to get off coal.
which tier ?
im currently doing phase 2 of the ship
My nitro rocket fuel needs 480 fuel generators set to 240%
Time and space management is the key factors for the overclocking
so after i do phase 2 i get the oil right?
In phase 3 yes
nice
Problem is design. I don’t make PLANS, you know, I build machines as they come. I’d like to get to the point like all my ressources are centralized, for exemple. Haven’t reach that point yet.
coal is great and all because it is finally automated, but the power generated is pretty lame compared to oil
wait oil won't be fully automated?
oil will be too
it will be. the gains for oil is huge
I was comparing to biomass
ah
it makes coal look like childs play
When it comes to liquids. Overclocking also helps cause smaller manifolds are easier to manage. Feeding 60 fuel gens is easier than 144.
biomass farm never gets old
your coal will be better used for steel and other stuff in the future instead of coal gens
just take a stroll get some wood come back and throw a somersloop in there
May be I should finish my decoration and show you a little video! 😊
I mean sometimes they get stuck around and all you guys are hearing is constant meowing. I simply overexposured myself to get use to the big variants as I hunted for orbs etc which in return I got PTSD but got use to them bois 😄
so yeah don't worry about making a big coal plant because the effort will be much better spent on making a big oil to fuel plant
just make it big enough to support your for the time being
at least from my experience
(Saying that because I made a big ass 28 coal gens power plant that I kinda regret now)
@void gorge Feel better and is there a video this Friday and Don't Forget some people have time change this weekend
I've made several large coal plants on the account of... they look really cool
I made a 48 gen coal plant in the lake next to the grass fields and still have it running even though I'm mainly on fuel now. But I might turn it off soon to use the coal for other stuff
On average I make 32 coal generators. 4 sets of 8
I usually do 2 nodes so 16 coal gens. Then with MK2 miner and T3 belts double it to 32. Enough power to fuel :)
You idea of big will change as you play. Especially when you start using manufacturers
the thing is that I made these coal plants when I already had oil gens
I wish I had used that time on them instead
@elfin smelt
All this is for 17 parts a minute and the 850 copper ingots are crafted elsewhere
Live and learn. Coal is a key lesson no one should skip
how does the doggo work? ive tamed 2 but i never see them anymore
Keep them in cages!
yeah i still have 16 of my first 32 coal generators going mostly for old time's sake
Give them a strawberry and make them follow you
yeah crystal oscillators are evil
Same, 32 coal generators
Enough for now
I have 48 coal gens running
I knew what I was getting into. Just using it as a example for factory size
Water always makes me so god dam mad, my Mk.2 Coal generators need 720 m3 water and I give 900 m3 and they still dont run propperly HOLY
February 27th, 2026
Q&A: Will the Patch Notes Video be released before or the day of?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOkCbcu2cME&t=1855
Jason
The day of we'll have a patch notes video. So be on the lookout for that on the 17th.
Mikael
Yes.Which is going to be the next YouTube video in general.
YouTube will be still now until March 17 when that video drops.
Im gonna smash my god dam Monitor
Are all your pipes that feed into the gens* level with each other?
that's not what an hdmi port is for
ye, im gonna name myself "just a mad dude"
you came to the right place for help
show us your pipes and we'll find the problem
I’ve given up on having all green on my coal plants lol
The game only renders what you can see.
As far as I can tell the doggo will reappear in the general location you left it but not exact. For this reason doggo can get out of cages.
I just feed every doggo I see and when I see one I feed it or just pwt it and claim the gift
vanilla players build cages
modded players use doggo houses
hard to send a picture
my doggo has never got out of his grassy fenced off bit after hundreds of hours
I tried to have free range dogs but I lost three that way
How to make suggestions
No clue where they went lol
try other channel, #screenshots or #math-and-meta
You can send Questions, Feedback, Suggestions, and Bug Reports

<3 @leaden turret
To start their own factories, of course
I can’t wait to see how much better than me they are at organizing them
Hey you seen my smart plate factory lol.
God speed Tony the lizard doggo
Likely but you can refresh my memory. From what I remember you play modded
can't reply in screenshots but that looks fine, though piping fluids upwards can be a real pain; what's the above look like
Your generators are above the pipes, yeah? That might be the issue @woeful meadow
photo is a bit dark tho
They should add huge cargo planes
It was a little crasy factory lol I had to split line into 3 parts bc rotors take 100 screws rn
I'm getting set to re-online aluminium products, about time too, my void storage cans are almost out of sheets & casings 🤣
I am not a stranger to floating platforms. Although I avoid them these days
omg
Don't worry I'll unlock walls
Like what do you mean i cant transport 20k of supercomputer a kinute from the rocky desert to my main base
if unlocks, is door, not wall, why wall have keyhole?
why is it such a pain to play... it should be SATISFYING
Like how can i transport 20k supercomputer a minute from the exact corner od the map to the middle
I rebuild my coalfactory for the 13 time now becasue I want it to be perfect and now REBUILDING IT AGAIN
Just double it
yeah you can make that work, I have
also that looks clean as hell
Why not leave it be and move on to fuel?
I find my coal plant the only build i consistently remove come late game as I want all the coal for end game production
are the pipes just before the coal generators full?
it says natrual headlift is 10 meters, I precisely messure with the perfect scalable layout AND ITS NOT WORKING
"Achievement unlocked: Move faster than 140 km/s!"
.... I was falling to my death but hey if it counts it counts!
Are you feeding the coal generator inputs from above?
are you measuring center to center?
it shows it in the screenshots
I dont get that tbh
That’s exactly how I got that too lmao
Feeding from above reduces the chance of sloshing and lets gravity help fluid physics are really weird so you have to treat them differently from conveyers
add a pump then
its below 10 so it should work
I mean the coal generators. Are the inputs for the coal generators fed from below? Or do you raise the pipe above the inputs then feed those inputs from above
not neccesarily true
well if you measuring the gap between the pipes that's gonna be 10m + the radius of each pipe
i bet itll work if you add a pump
ah yeah headlift is a uh. a guideline rather than a rule; if you're using exactly as much head lift as you have, it'll be weird
I try with the pumps... if it dosnt work my god
headlift doesnt work like "perfect pressure for 10 meters, after that nothing" if you measure it perfectly its probably not gonna work
Also, you might want to turn off the coal gens and let them fill up
They sent a screenshot it is being directly fed from below
Okay and some people have time change this weekend i was hoping that he was aware
#screenshots message @woeful meadow I got this working eventually but it was a pain
it works now...
yey
so I rebuild everything to not use pumps and now need pumps anyway... MY GOD
head lift is always worth over-speccing
you might only need one to add the required head lift
I restored my sanity, thanks alot to you all
Fluids are confusing as there is no way to directly see what's happening. All you can do is see averages by clicking a pipe and inferring information seen through behavior.
now I destroy everything again to place it back as before when I used pumps...
I have a reasonable handle on fluids only because of the plumbing guide and word of mouth and experimentation.
also fluids can hit a dead end and bounce backwards, which cuts into your throughput
Only one way to learn... my coal plant took forever to make lol
try only one pump in the system, it should add head lift to all the pipes
Coal is a valuable but frustrating lesson.
Pipes are totally working functionally and there is nothing wrong with them also there is no war in ba sing se
but how can 1 pump on 3 seperat pipelanes pump 3 lanes
because
sorry that's all I have for you lmao
xD
Ficsit classified technology
Fluids are something for sure
Fluids kinda easy. :p
Over time you develop process and self governed rules around pipes.
For example my rules to myself are
Feed from above.
Treat max flow as theoretical
Prefill pipes as they only reach max flow when full.
Keep it simple stupid
feeding them above looks disgusting
but it works
Again these are my rules for myself.
@normal orbit feels the same as you do and has ways to make it work for their setups
I like chewing on live cables
electicrty
Im gonna destroy FiCIT property agaIn
Junction manifold in and out. Use pumps before manifolds. Don't place buildables on pipes. If you do rebuild them. Pump assist flow.
Kinda all ya need tbh
Works for bottom feeding or top feeding
No loops
@woeful meadow this info dump from neko is for you.
just cover the whole pipeline with pumps so you cant even see a pixel of pipe
More like pump lines am I right lol
perhaps
Pipes also hit max flow that's put into em instantly. Pipevolume will take a bit to fill. Prefilling isn't needed, but can speed up warmup. It can also mask problems so what seems to work can fail after hours
Speaking of the buildable thing, if you delete a pump should you remake the pipe before putting the pump back?
If you delete a pump there should be a section missing
So you kinda need to redo the pipes to connect new one
If the pipe welded back together, you broke rule of not rebuilding pipes after placing the pump on em
I need to do loops with MK1 pipes
or else I cant feed sufficiently
thats why I have 3 pipes for 2 pipe lanes, so the middle one feeds enough water
700h into the game and i still struggle how i want to do basic builds and let them look nice.
same with 450
and btw, I love mods so I looked for essential mods and one of the mods that gets the most hype is "SMART!"... so I use it and holy... the amount of keybind coalition is crazy and with a 70% keyboard you are fucked
Another question that involves pipes: If I pump my water up to the logisticsfloor that is below my constructions, will it have a natural headlift on that construction-floor or do I need pumps again?
I use a 70% compressed keyboard with no issues. I have a separate numpad mind you as I cannot live without it
yeah, I need my numpad again, its so essential for mods in any sandbox type game
Pumps reset headlift. It is not cumulative. So you need more pumps if you run out of headlift
so with 1 pump per pipelane, it should work... I hope
You can get hot swappable numpads for pretty cheap. I am replacing the switches with quality ones as I have the old one die.
Min you only one switch has died over 5 years
I use Roccat keyboards and my old Vulkan 2 broke and the 70% one was on sale
mk1 pump sets it to 20m head lift, so anything under 20m above the pump should get fluid; though I like to operate as if it's 15m because pipes are wack
do they fix pipes in 1.2?
or are they just scuffed forever?
we dont know. We get full patch notes on st patties day
i want to believe
becasue I heard that you should avoid pipefloor holes too
pipe floor holes used to be straight up broken, so they have a reputation
they say fluids aren't being changed in 1.2 but they also said they weren't making a Mk6 belt for years
General rule. Once you done lifting, put another pump at level
MK.2 Poduction would be nice, especially for performance
anyone else notice the "straight" build mode for conveyors is never straight, someetimes it angles itself, sometimes it turns awkwardly in a path that is nowhere near straight
since my return in 1.1 i have had little issues with floor holes. A odd time they refuse to connect to a pipe and i just replace it and its good to go. Of course this is personal exerience
ye, the belts sometimes bent
its so anoyingh 🙁
If you want to build a straight line on foundations, use default and it'll work like you expect. Then switch to straight for making nice bends
Which is to say yes you're correct but it's fairly easy to work around
yup, true. Had that problem a few minutes ago and default works fine
straight bases straight on the starting point, which sometimes isn't perfectly straight
I think it's because the snap to foundation messes with the straight line calculation in very minor ways that can cause it to twist slightly sometimes
Default mode seems to just prioritize the snap to foundation so it works fine because obviously the foundation is straight
i find some times it is relative to what the belt is orienting itself to. For example if i clip foundations to make a curve it will choose a foundation at a odd angle to align to.
when this repeatedly happens i place two conveyor supports manually then connect
oh alr ty
straight is meant for making perfect 90 degree turns, not straight lines
Well it's supposed to do straight lines too
Worked fine in 1.0 it's 1.1 which make em bug out every now and then
Yeah, it's because of how the game is placing conveyor poles. The game's been bugging with poles a bunch this patch
I've been resorting to placing poles before belts, which is probably the better practice anyway lol
The poles are based off of the belt
There's no issues with default and curved. So poles are fine
From what I've seen. Doing a 90 bend in the belt sometimes is like 89 instead which messes up next
Been kinda doing pre 1.0 build technique. Place belt where curve, move back two ticks
The conveyer placement logic works perfectly. It just knows better than us where they should go
trust in the system
Ok I think my initial big plans for phase 4 are gonna be
Aluminum factory north of crater lake to kickstart the milestones
Train over the bauxite + coal + quartz from the top near the west over to the oil nodes at the west, make a big plastic + rubber + aluminum factory there
And top left desert area is for computers, radio control units, etc.
don't forget the factory cart skatepark
If you dont have that prephase 4 what are you even doing
it's a minimum of 1 skatepark per phase otherwise you're playing the game wrong
man, every time i try to give the game another chance, i get to space elevator stage 1 and get bored
i just got the car, it's cool but man idk if i can keep this going
I'm restarting I think somewhere else on the map. I got to phase 4, but, I can do better than my current factory. May just set the outputs up to trains and use it as bonus production, keep it as is once I fix the copper and iron lines up
And house my refineries (they're currently just sitting in a field).
What's the boring part?
I started in the forest which people have told me is dumb but like, I'm doing fine IMO
Just first time player issues making me move
You start wherever you want to start, don't ever let others tell you how to play your game 🙂
North forest? That's where I started my first file, it's really good
I just like trees so I ignored the warning lol. But it wasn't that hard. Granted I don't have a reference point because this is my first playground
the only rough part about that start is it's right next to the cliff which newer players aren't really used to dealing with yet
all the starts are good though
Yeah, the tight spaces, the cliff and the verticality in general are the hard part of the forest. Resource-wise, it's one of the best
? Cliff? Why would I care about a cliff lol? Dumb newbie question. I didn't notice any impending hardships from the cliff lol
At the Cliff, I just build a platform outwards then incorporate my designs around how the factory is set, but i do try to do a lot more verticality there
makes getting up and down harder, limits buildable area a bit, that sort of stuff
compared to like rocky desert or grassy field where there aren't nearly as many terrain challenges 😆
i would be cool if coffe stain released a pioneer contract as souvinir
Hey. The belt straight mode doesnt work when it should definitely work. The belt is red. Source is belt, destination is a splitter. In default mode it works. I guess, its just a bug...?
default is basically straight with no extra turns, for some reason straight if its not perfectly aligned will want at least 1 "turn" which can be red in tighter spaces
I wonder if there's any mod that adds variable demand
.... I just discovered I can dismantle the crashed pods by accident and get some pretty useful salvage and not mix up which I've opened. Auuuugh this game sometimes D:
ah yeah thanks they added that
Its nice. Although the way the game renders distance it kinda assumes you havent got the hardrives and renders in in a poor low details state. Then when you get close enough it registers you already got it and disappears.
A many of times I've gone for a crash in the distance to find out it was a illusion. Like water in the distance while wandering the desert
I’ve done that so many times
what are the recommended specs for sf ?
I'm only getting a good framerate on low graphic settings
I just saw there's literally only 5 uranium ores in the entire game, not a single pure one.. How does that make sense? Do you just need so little for nuclear energy that its actually a lot of uranium or are we super limited with the amount of nuclear power w can generate in the first place?
oh, thanks 👍
This is the offical but I have a feeling it hasn't been changed for ue5
checks update 8 launch date
Whats a good spot to setup my first computer factory?
theres 5 uranium spots!
3 impure, 2 pure.
Depends on your resources. If you have lots of rubber being made in lets say the blue crater then that would be good.
cc <@&370483737957236737> #faq system requirements are apparently out of date
Oop, yeah I meant to type 5 lol
But yeah, exactly. That seems very little, no?
you just dont need a ton of it
I just finished automating 20 computers/min and found the best* spot to be the spire coast (started in the northern forest)
The former, I think, uranium fuel rods go a long way and you can use the byproduct to produce 2 more types of nuclear fuel rods
I do not have any trains setup or anything like that. I do have a small refinery making i think 100 rubber/min
Where that is can you easily get the other resources for computers?
A nuke plant that uses all 2100 uranium is huge
You may need plastic not rubber. I dont have the recipes memorized
Yeah okay, makes sense
Either way I have a small refinery on the west coast making both plastic and rubber. I didnt see any copper nearby though
Does anyone know how much energy it'd produce if all uranium was used and turned into plutonium etc?
Hm out of curiosity what is the theoretical maximum number of reactors you can power with all 2100 uranium + the resulting plutonium and fixonium?
Lol yeah I'm curious, think the numbers can also vary if you sloop stuff too
So take notes on what you need and find the location with the majority of the resources needed.
I dont have spare poly for rubber or plastic so I made crystal computers as I had lots of quartz.
Great fun, don't get me wrong, but just the first phase for uranium rods is 100,8 fully sharded nuke power plants
Holy
jeez
Can you sloop the fuel rods? At that point I feel like you might run out of the other resources required lmao
it's like 100,8 for uranium, 70something for plutonium and maybe thirtyish for ficsonium maybe? don't quot me on that. The issue later becomes SAM ore
if you get to the end you could sloop the ficsonium rods, since burning those doesn't produce waste, but slooping the others is tricky since you have to deal with the waste somehow
Yeah the issue is probably running out of components to make extra plutonium and ficsonium rods
Components other than the waste
idk if all my recipes and methods are a 100% optimal but you get the idea, it's a substantial undertaking
yes exactly
you have to process the uranium waste into plutonium rods at the minimum, since you can't directly sink any of the waste
while it would be best to sloop plutonium rods for power if at all i would only sloop ficsonium rods since would not have to deal whit any waste.
so even starting the plant is interesting since you have to build this huge processing facility for the waste and then just hope that you didn't make any huge mistakes while building it. If you did, you're soon going to drown in nuclear waste 😁
u could still do the old method and build a huge storage and just store all the uranium waste.
Yeah nuclear seems like a super fun project, I can't wait to get to it in like 200 more hours lmfao
I havent crunched the numbers but I think slooping ficsonium rods gives you negative energy. The margins are close without slooping
to a point yes, but what do you do when it's full? not sustainable trying to expand it all the time
Are drones enough throughput to get all the uranium? Seems like the cleanest way to grab it
Fill a tractor and send it the the void lol .
If only you could automate tractor crafting and preload the driving recording lol
well depending on how long u plan to play and how much waste u produce a decent siced storage could last u multiple 100 hours.
I saw a video where someone gave a stack of nuclear waste to a lizard doggo and launched it into the void
the tractor never despawns and starts to create lag.
There is no Geneva on this planet 🙂
Ya. You can flush it down the toilet too.
ya gl flushing 100 nukes worth of waste down the toilet!
good luck flush like 5million waste
One by one
I'm Canadian. We have a history of committing acts that become war crimes
It does now. That was a thing way back when
Thats the joke
The latest kibitz video was hysterical, turned on the entire plant and it immediately was a disaster
Somehow managed to mix plutonium waste into a load balancer and got it perfectly mixed into all the uranium waste, 10/10
Do any of y'all play with the global illumination? I don't notice it much in screenshots but I think it looks nice. (My factory does need lights though hella bad now lol)
I play with it on. I like it.
I love it but I'm a nerd for lighting effects in games. Weird pull but jacksepticeye is just as obsessed with lighting as me and it makes me feel seen when he rants about it lol
This was my first project with global illumination in mind
Using painted beams to make a slotted roof so the sun would create cool shadows was a lot of fun
o shit I think you're right. I didn't even think of this. My modeler agrees on quick calculations that you're losing power if you sloop ficsonium rods at least on my recipes. But at this point you should have a LOT of power so could still do it just for the love of the game and not necessity
for sure, Its a sandbox game. If you want to do something you don't need a reason ^_^ i just like pointing out positives and negatives just incase it effects you.
no that was a good call, hadn't even crossed my mind
My wife said it was pretty. I do too, but so did my wife
i manually build curves ( a converstion im having in #design-and-architecture ) because i like ripping a bong hit listening to music while i do it
I have a a few mods. Under 15, but one of them has curved walls and foundations, because I too enjoy ripping a bong and then doing anything else but that :p
^_^exactly whatever achieves your goals
Are there good/worth to grind for alternative recipes for nuclear energy with plutonium?
depends what your goals are. There is a recipe to create more waste then normal. If you want that go for it ^_^
all recipes have there place. just tools to use
my goal is getting so much energy that I hopefully wont ever need to bother with it anymore lol, and that as easily as possible. Not trying to mix max energy possible or something
then you can just use regulare recipes. OR not even use nuclear, Nitro rocket fuel using one pure oile node gives you 200gw.
Yes there are some very useful alts and one not very useful
@normal orbit likely has suggestions to keep it simple
Uh most power is infused uranium cell to uranium fuel unit. Then non fissile uranium to instant plutonium cell into plutonium fuel unit
Nitro rocket fuel will basically get you to the end of the game without having to ever worry about it
If you ok with a little less power plutonium pellet path is pretty good too
Fertile uranium I would steer clear of
hey guys just a quick question, when around a plan designer, how to disable that it loads a plan when you select one to build it next to it ? I don't know if I'm clear.
I have parts saved as plans and would like to make new plans from assembling these parts but each time i select one in the building window (not the planner), it deletes what i'm working on to open the plan i just selected... sos xD
I'm not sure such a minor thing would require a proper question post but i can do so if you deem it appropriate
is plan designer some kind of layout planer?
sorry, i'm not sure about the word in english, my game is in my mother tongue but it is the thing allowing to do blueprints ?
if you mean the blueprint designer ingame (the big cube): it shouldnt load blueprints when you select them in the build menu
what if we had invisible conveyor lifts so it looked like items were falling off one belt and onto another
invisible lifts so items magically ascend to heaven
I had that happen once
yes that
Deleted and rebuilt designer
it is doing it since yesterday (session was restarted and all) and it is the most infuriating thing xD
i did that as well ! 😢
although at the same spot, i could move it to try
?have you restarted you computer to clear all caches?
I think I built it elsewhere yes
i'm not sure how to clear the cache in that instance but restarting the rig sounds manageable xD
sometimes restarting is all that is needed. Turning off your computer doesnt clear temperary data.
@cerulean valley Congrates!
now you can play for real !
it looks like it is fixed... i'm a bit ashamed but thank you a lot guys, what a weird bug tbh
No need to feel ashamed for encountering a bug
Im honestly surprised how well this game runs on steam deck.
I do notice a slight drop in fps after completing stage 1 of the space elevator though
A permanent -2fps id say
Can someone tell me if 45° is the best angle for longest range hypertube cannon, or not ?
No. I think it's around 30
Just to see if I’m dumb how long did it take yall to realize you can store more in the dimensional depot then what’s in the starting list
I accidentally dragged an item into the list and saw it expand and my view was changed lol
Oh really ?
Okay
Starting list?
In the inventory when you first unlock the depot it shows you a list of items and I thought that was the only things that could go into the depot
Mm no. It's empty. Won't show anything until you upload something
I very distinctly remember it showing a bunch of basic items like rods, plates, screws, concrete etc at 0/200 or whatever stack size
That's not normal. I suspect you or someone joined your game uploaded then took it out
Whatever you wanna believe ig
.... I read the upgrade when it was introduced
#screenshots message its facts, not a belief
Might’ve bugged then and filled the list early idk
I’m not very smart
How do you have dimensional depots before the hub
Creative
i just started an ags game
ags?
advanced game settings
tick box all mam unlocks and no build cost, place a depot, upload an item
Helpful for planning factories
why has nobody talked in almost 20 minutes
no need
we are making factorys etc etc
They are looking for the hidden mk.1 conveyor belt somewhere in their factory
Or the piece of MK1 pipe inside a junction
Panicking now oh God you can't just say that shit
Oh God I'm going to puke oh God
what do you do when a tractor d spawns but still shows here on map?
It prob fell thru the world. Load save in scim and move it/delete it
fluid trucks......
some people just wanna watch the world burn
need.....fluid trucks
when you come back after not playing for a while and forgot what you were doing
When I know I can't play for a bit. I put down a billboard or more and leave a note to myself :p
Knowing myself, i would look at the billboard and think "that's a stupid idea, why would I do that", redo it entirely, and realize halfway through that there was a good reason for doing it the billboard way
I'd lie if I said that hasn't happened :p
is there a good spot in the rocky deasert to get all the biomass i need for like 6-10 hours until i get my coal running ?
Past me, present me, and future me are all archenemies and constantly trying to sabotage each other
All of rocky desert. Go hog wild with the chainsaw
There's trees, leaves and mycelia aplenty
Also remember that animals are a renewable source of biomass
They're somehow incredibly energy-dense
if you're on biomass so much you need to renew it you're doing it wrong
If you kinda know what you're doing you can complete phase 1 in under 2 hours, think my record is 1h41m
is there a starting list? 🤔 afaik it's empty at the start
There's as much biomass in 1 creature as there is in 20 pieces of wood
Step one is do the milestone that unlocks solid biofuel and the chainsaw
From there 6 biomass burners should get you going to the next phase
anyone know why when i scan for limestone it dosnt go further than around 500m?
It only shows past 500m if there isn't 1 or 2 nodes within that radius
thank you
Worst case there should be enough Reinforced Iron Plates and Rotors at drop pod crash sites to just shove them in an assemblers to make the smart plating
Hand feeding your project parts is viable
im only on phase 3 rn but tbh idk if ill ever not hand feed with somersloops for space ele parts its sm easier than making a factory for what i need atm
Me crafting nuclear pasta by hand despite FICSIT safety executives telling me not
Valid
But nice factories are gonna make things a lot easier
how are your hands still intact.
They aren't
That'd be funny. Dinkdinkdink some hyperdense degenerate matter :p
Don't worry I just made a mini neutron star by hand don't worry about me
im currently rebuilding my factory to make and store most basic parts up to around computers and the idea of making a factory for even 2 adaptive control units or modular engines sounds like a nightmare just my setup for 10 modular frames /s feels huge
holding the densest object that is before black hole is totally fine
#satisfactory-memes message I refer to my meme
Is there a vanilla way to get Runic characters to work with signs?
If they ASCII just copy paste
I don't think you can do alt+code in game but you can in notepad and just copy paste into game
ᚠᚡᚢᚣᚤᚥᚦᚧᚨᚩᚪᚫᚬᚭᚮᚯᚰᚱᚲᚳᚴᚵᚶᚷᚸᚹᚺᚻᚼᚽᚾᚿᛀᛁᛂᛃᛄᛅᛆᛇᛈᛉᛊᛋᛌᛍᛎᛏᛐᛑᛒᛓᛔᛕᛖᛗᛘᛙᛚᛛᛜᛝᛞᛟᛠᛡᛢᛣᛤᛥᛦᛧᛨᛩᛪ᛫᛬᛭ᛮᛯᛰ
hi is there a website that i can use that i can input how many nodes of iron, the purity and see how much i have to overclock to get the desirable output of resources?
Check pins in #math-and-meta
I don't use em so dunno which is good. But there's some links there
There are too many variables to have a calculator to do that for you
if you need twice as much, clock to 200%. Don't need a tool for that
you can build a spreedsheet to calculate this
I tried before and after pasting in a notepad, and it doens't seem to work. I just get diamonded question marks. It would have been amazing to include those for my nuclear power plant, because runes are magical and powerful, but alas, I guess not all ascii characters are supported.
I know I used some to make like arrows and lines. But yea guess it's limited
Knowing how much each quality node outputs with whatever level miner you have and a calculator is sufficient
#screenshots message like those
Fun in theory, in practice you're more likely to use a variety of different quality nodes
is their a way to quick delete a blueprint you just put down?
Disassemble change mode to blueprint
is there a wiki for molded steel beam and pipe recipes? cant find it on fandom and need to know which is more efficient for encased steel beams
While in that mod if you mouse wheel click it'll copy that bo for quick placement
Don't use fandom as it hasn't been. Updates in three plus years.
Use wiki.gg
thank you
there's nothing like "more efficient recipe"
you'd need to specify what "efficient" means, and even then you can't compare two recipes in vacuum
i mean for iron specifically
yeah again, can't compare in vacuum
Side note, recipes are not about efficiency. They are tools for the job.
Maybe you want to use less power or use less space or change the resources you use.
They are just tools
im using a molded recipe into encased steel beams or pipes i figure if encased pipes with molded pipes is more iron efficient i could get hard drives for that
Yeah but what if it's like iron filings? A vacuum can probably pick those up
you need to compare the whole chain
A vacuum definitely can't pick up a chain...
not funny and not helpful
Are the chilling snails I turn into overclocking potential finite in amount? I'm not sure if I should start using them in production lines or save them for "important" things (such as say overclocking a mining rig)
they are infinite
i suppose its time i figure out how to use satisfactory modeler then
Sorry I'm just not very engaged because it's not a screw recipe. Yet another iron item you can't compare in a vacuum 🙁
wouldn't use modeler for that tbh
what would you reccomend
There is 1000+ slugs in the game if you put them through a constructor with a somersloop installed you should have plenty of power shards.
||That being said come end game you can craft power shards||
I have decided I hate aluminium
Why?
Usually when efficiency is mentioned it's more product from input which is the basis. You really don't need a whole chain to see you get like 2.5x the ingots from the pure copper alt
I use a beautiful mind wall for this game
Everything is so far apart lmao
something that generates the production line quickly instead of having to do it manually
e.g. https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/
Wanted to avoid shipping liquid but feasibly I need to be shipping alumina solution
Phase 4 has a lot of logistics challenges.
Did land lucky on sloppy alumina though
thank you so much
build near resources
why not just solidify the aluminum and move that if you don't want to do liquids?
I personally am shipping bauxite next to lakes and process them there
Bauxite is like highly concentrated in a thin strip in the middle of map
i mean shipping to places next to lakes
Thats when you get to have fun with trains
Trains and trucks is where all the fun is at
the majority of which can be solved by the mighty factory cart
I think for ease I need to ship alumina to the depot where I offload a bunch of coal and refine there
My general consensus without more details, molded pipes are easier on steel but the concrete cost is high and the logistics burden of using assemblers over constructors is seldom worth it
Because I also have quartz somewhere down the line on that
coal is probably less effort to move than any significant amount of alumina solution
Is liquid shipping awkward?
Concrete is cheap as chips. Tons of limestone around. Not really used awhole lot for other things. Wet concrete alt makes loads of it. Also molded pipes are in the foundry not assembler.
it's not too bad with trains but it's still more work than shipping solids
Coal shall come to me then
I made the mistake of building my refinery’s near the aluminium
it's just fine
Is there a recipe to use petroleum coke in aluminium scrap? I hope so as it’ll be a useful sink for oil residue
people that have issues with fluid shipping are the same that have issues with fluids in general, and that's because they do fluids badly, not because the fluids are bad
Electrode scrap yes
My general attitude to them has been fill the pipes and try not to think about it
im making steel pipes and beams not only for my depots and storage but also with heavy modular frames and encased steel beams for storage and depots in mind too so i scooped up alot of nearby limestone since it seemed abundant but the 10 overclocked constructors i need for concrete and smelters i need for solid steel and extra foundries im using to use the molded recipes is making me think all this extra logistics is more work than just importing a ton of iron and coal
all I know is 1.2 is going to make liquid stuff even more perfect than it already is
It would kind of hilarious if all 1.2 does is fix the bug in vertical junctions
and trucks! we can't ignore the trucks!
my steel setup has quickly turned into a limestone black hole
You know, could be a fun challenge, nuclear power but you do all the transportation with trucks
That's not how you spell miserable
But who am I kidding, I haven't even started my factory cart laden elevator part factory
Follow your dreams. I support you and your beautiful madness
I still have to finish my high-speed connector factory ugh
But that brings new challenges, I am trying to sushi my manufacturers
couldnt you just use smart splitters on every one?
I am, the trouble is I import circuit boards by train and make the rest of the stuff locally
I haven't figured it out yet
that doesn't force you to sushi tho
i havnt really delt with trains yet but that sounds like it could get a bit awkward
No, that's a self imposed challenge
#screenshots message @bitter kiln just a fyi. You're about 500.000mw short on power. You have some issues in your plant.
I mean if capacity isn't flat, you already probably have issues
Not finished bro
I like the lumps, they add character
I only have Uranium Rods Online and Plutonium arent burnt
That would be an issue :p
😄
yall do mega factories or modular factories
megafactories are generally not recommended
logistical and performance issues would be two of many reasons why
If mega is all in one then heck no. But I make big factories like processing all bauxite on the map
I do nanofactories. No more than 200 total resources/min as input
all of the bauxite on the map sounds like itd make for a pretty huge factory would that not be considered a mega factory?
"megafactory" is "all production in one place"
oh like everything as in literally all your production? 😭
yeah that does sound pretty crazy
the key is to make everything except the screws in one place and import the screws then it's not a megafactory anymore
Rename mega to performance issue factory :p
screws feel so inconvenient to use at all istg
that's because you're building them wrong
that's because you're making the common mistake of producing them near what uses them instead of making all your screws in one place and shipping them to your not-quite-megafactory
how should i be building screws
in front of the machine that needs them, hooked 1:1 (or 2:1 or 1:2 or whichever ratio fits that case)
ym making them as close to where they need to go as possible?
aren't megafactories just independency at scale though?
i could see how thatd get rid of their annoyance
no, because independency is literally about spreading factories and you can't have more than one megafactory
Aren't the 3 coal nodes close together on the east coast all impure?
Oh Discord did not scroll oops, hello
but if it was just about spreading out then it would be ok with shipping intermediate items between factories
it is ok with that. if it's independent
Do megafactories get ore and every fluid delivered? Or is there at least some (pre)processing? What about RADIOACTIVE! RADIOACTIVE!
basically everything, yeah
How do singularity cells work as fuel for portals like how many would I need for a good amount of them and do I have too manually supply them I saw someone using them in a video but don't quite understand I think I'm just gonna sloop some of them so I have spares
Yeah if you went really overboard with limestone, go for it. I just know I'm typically more limited by that than iron for HMF
5/min into the main portal iirc to keep it active
Satellite portal just needs power
I think. Been awhile
I see and that's just per main one?
Cuz I'm already making 224 but that's being used else where
Yea so if you make more main. Need more fed
So I think I just sloop and steal from that since idk if I have any Sam left
yeah i had abt one mk4 belt in of limestone then needed to double my setup but im only really gonna making 2ish hmfs/m and and maybe 11ish encased beams/m for building things when i need some for parts ill probably make a seprate factory
is there an efficient way to split one input into 8 smelters that wouldnt require 8 splitters?
You can dump half a stack in. Wait the minute or so to link up then thru, but you're not going back then cuz link shuts off when it's out
manifold
hm okay, but technically 8 splitters would realistically be a "efficient" way, still trying to figure out if spilitters/merges slow down production lines or is it only the input speed matters if that makes sense
whats that?
I see
but have 2 machines on each output
OHHHHH OMG THAT MAKES MORE SENSE
Also if I wanted too take all of the coal copper and limestone from the desert in one massive train station idk how many trains too use
manifolds are the simplest way to do basically any system in the game.
just needs 2 things
- at least enough parts per min for the system
- a fast enough belt
if you want it to work smoothly anyway
im using mrk 3 belts to run a mk2 normal node if i remember correctly, each miner produces 240 iron per minute
sure, seems fine? mk3 goes to 270
yea so its a little over but i think that should be good
having MORE throughput won't hurt anything
as long as you have enough, doesn't matter. More? no problem
okay thank you, also for manifold i should space them one foundation per from the pictures i see
I'm not sure what you mean by 'space them one foundations per' ?
give them as much space as you want/need - different machines have different input and output spacigns
how can i make my machines look more organized and avoid conveyer spaghetti
planning is the largest gain in this area. plan out where the machines will go, belts and so on
Foundations
At least too start
Manifolds help
are hmf used alot in buildings?
Somewhat
hi
U need more complex version of them for building other things
Aswell
im jst making a small amt rn that ill need for buildings ill probably make a larger deticated setup for them later i just didnt realize all id be able to make is 1/m 😭
What's ur recipe look like
I'm making 50 slooped too 100 for now
find a spot with iron coal and limestone nearby 🙂 can make more.
there's also recipes that reduce resource cost
im using base recipe for hmf and molded for steel pipes and beams iron products are no issue rn
Hmmm. When dragging a Conveyer belt in the air, is there a way I can make sure its level? Having some minor trouble judging how "high" something is - I know it doesn't functionally matter too much, but aesthetics are important dangit :D
heavy encased frames might be enough to get me around 1.6ish/m
I use 4k iron 1800 limestone and 400 coal a min too make my 50 a min
I recommend alts
consider getting these recipes https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production?share=Brrnek5h4V2gcyLOfBrB
thats a ton
is there a way in satisfactory calc to put in that i have power shards to overclock one of my constructers to have an even amount of them
Don't use calculator use tools
oh sorry yes i meant tools sorry
Just do the math that's what I do I use tools cuz u unfortunately can't too my knowledge
this is great actually thank you theres somewhere very nearby i could do this but i think ill go a little farther jst to get away from my main base a little
Hmf are something I recommend u place wherever the resources are available and then drone them out
perhaps instead of making a whole line in my current base for 1hmf/m i should do this and put it in a depot
One of thoose low throughput items which drones are amazing for
im not quite at drones yet im excited to mess with them eventually tho
long belts also work
U get them before u really starting need hmf in places so
And ig u don't even need aluminum cuz I only do cuz rocket fuel
Well ig rcu
ive got 4 500m belts just for my little too complicated steel setup rn 😭
yeah, a big part of keepign things simple in the game is to scout locations for a factory where you can get all or almost all the resources pretty locally
Adding too that I use tools too figure out what I need and the interactive map on calculator too figure out where the best spot would be
ive only recently unlocked trains so ive felt kind of trapped in my area until now tbh
using both SCIM and Tools in tandem and edit your location and recipe choices
Go build in that area then hook up a train too and from
long belts! totally doable 🙂 stretch them for 4km if you need to
Eventually you'll expand on it and have global network
how far is too far for a train
I do cuz I'm building huge and using up quite a bit of the resources on the map
That isn't a thing at least for me it hasn't been
nothing. its the point of trains ^_^
Tho I also have faster trains but they only go up too 200km/h so idk how much better that is than vanilla
I just like the speed
honestly i thought if i had one too far then id run out of resources before it did its loop
for a train, depends on the round trip time, but for long routes, the beauty of trains is you can just add another
doesn't even need to be a longer train (though that is an option and they do look cool)
Either make it longer or add more stations
can literally just have 2 or 3 or 17 or however many separate trains make sense, all doing the same route
Yeah but I think that's what I'm aiming for cuz I'm gonna need a lot of train outpost and I worry about 2 lanes not being enough
We shall see
only a problem really if they're all going to one place
and have to queue
Some will be
Cuz I'm gonna be taking 36k coal from the map too one spot
I wanna try and get it all in one bigger train than a whole bunch of smaller ones
Well not one big one but multiple bigger ones
as long as the stations are set up sensibly, you'll only get slight pauses at intersections or whatever, so as long as you haven't timed it so a train literally can't stop or it can't keep up its throughput, it'll be fine
if your loop ios thjat long you just need to add another train to the loop
I see also I think for these bigger train builds I'm just gonna bring in everything by train on the bottom floor and then have a whole bunch of waiting bays or stacks I think there called from factorio
alas, trains don't do dynamic pathing
Cuz I can't just set them too leave when cargo is empty right
Wym
Ive seen it on a blueprint before
doesn't mean it works lol
Thelittle waiting stations
I'm confused I feel like it would work with path and block signals
if you're expecting to split a track in 5 lanes then merge together, and for trains to pick one to chill in til they can move into whatever comes after, then all that'll happen is they'll all just pick the same one to try and wait in
Ones the train leaves it opens the spot and the next one in line goes
There's a mod that has dynamic train pathing.
Yeah that's what I want then we'll the train goes and refills the next one unloads
there's mods for a lot of things, I don't consider them as relevant
Also yeah I could just get that
Did see that mod I wanted it but I never understood what it did
dynamic pathing there'd mostly mean that if you've got like 5 trains waiting for one station, they could each take one lil bay rather than all backing up far beyond whatever waiting area you've designated
I see kinda well I'm gonna try it cuz I have some ideas that I think would work but if we will see
Ig worst case I get the mod and that helps and then boom
there is a mod that fixes this jfyi ya all big dawgs
do reddit links work, let's see...
so this is an example of the sort of stacking that doesn't work
https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/19ca2ro/train_waiting_bays/
too slow 😛
there's mods for a lot of things, I don't consider them as relevant
RRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-
im sorry for the kinda weird question but i gen dont know how to do the math for this, on satisfactory tool(im trying to automate smart plating while maximizing all outputs to be put in separate storage for each individual item and im so confused on how many constructors i should split off to do single items and the rest to be put into a assembler, for exp im starting with metal plating and it says at the end ill have 6.575 extra and 138.082iron plate -> reinforced iron plates
huh?
Hmmm not exactly what I wanted so we will see idk I'm gonna mess around with it worst case I use the mod like I said cuz I love mods they just make something good even better
You'll need to explain things differently - this is a plan for smart plating though ?https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production?share=o7rjlGEHqDD3qZQhHRXw
hard to parse the question, but normally the answer to "how do I get this oddly specific number of items from a production line" is "clock the machines to produce that number"
You can always just have a long loop of track to store the extra trains on. But yea without the mod, trains just find the shortest route when leaving a station and will only deviate if you delete track or something.
oh you mean splitting items?
(and answer to "how do I send the excess somewhere else" is smart splitters, but you're unlikely to have those right now)
ye sorry
I mean smart splitters are super early
clock the machines to make that much
that's it.
clocking solves like 99% of your problems before they become problems
probably not for a newbie having trouble with smart plating
no ik but am i supposed to split them off or just have them all go to one conveyer belt
your call
Okay fair
clock the machines to put exactly what you need on your belt
though bear in mind belt throughput limits
don't merge them all
damnit can i not post a pic in this chat
nope, #1038092680493801533 or #math-and-meta are likely the most appropriate places
pinged you in other channel
Or thoose
#screenshots is more for fire-and-forget/bragging, not for anything you expect a conversation about
noticed i was talking in the wrong chat xd
Good too know u can post pics in the math one
Fair
Well more so I post the photo in there and then #satisfactory message it in here
and I completely ignore it and move on lol
I need
a finished sentence?
#design-and-architecture too. post where it is most relevent. #screenshots is mostly about "look at my thing"
I need to get coal unlocked, my factory just shutdown bc i ran out of biomass
yes, automated power is good
Well this isn't everyone so 🤷
cvool is good. Coal is lovely
but for me to get coal i need to get passed phase 1
Funny how early game u need coal and then late game u need way more
Ig fair I only have one option so
I have to make 50k smart plates
well that sounds self-inflicted
50 not 50k
you need 4300 Smart plates to beat the game
of course if you're doing a self-imposed challenge (modded or manual) then you might need more, but... ^
check screenshots #screenshots message
yup

Same as a few hoursa ago ^_^
like I said, self-inflicted
Have u done the one where u need too constantly feed it?
U should add that
Make it 50k constant lol
FEED ME SEYMOR!!!!
I wanted to but it was broken
Dang that sucks
That's prolly my plan for a second playthrough
I crave a dlc coffee stain let us give u more money please
80$ dlc IDC
that'll cost you more than 80 quid
I've spent 4k in star citizen lol I'll spend a lot on this game I love them both so much
bruh my fuse keeps blowing idk why
disconnect your factory before you restart your power
More power
U can never have too much
i did
Actually u very easily can lol
Nms is cool I played it a lot like a few years ago
But just not for me idk
aren't making enough power then, OR you have another bioburner someone that has a blown fuse
if you connect a power systesm to a blown fuse system it shuts off automatically
I love realistic graphics I think
So that's prolly why I like sc so much
Same with like cp2077
bruh idk
Actually wait my next challenge is a full VR playthrough
I don't get motion sick at all luckily
Especially cuz sc just added vr I can't wait too get a pimax for both
i added 2 more bio mass
i believe you can load balance 15 bioburners with mk2 belts if that helps
I have 6 up rn and were runnning my facility but i ran out of biomass so i restarteed it and now its throwing a fit
okay its up now idk
why are you using biomass when nuclear exists
Now why you asking dumb questions
I'm doing 112 ficsonium fuel rods:)
I mean technically he's not wrong
He is wrong
I mean nuclear does exist
It doesn't exist if it's locked 🙄
locked... for now :p
lol
personally i hand power everything until i unlock nuclear
lizard doggos on hamster wheels powering everything
Bruh
nuclear is a headache, but turbofuel is even more of a headache
i just run around with power shards and slops and multiply what i need desperately xD
Turbo fuel is easy
Nitro Rocket fuel is easy, you just need to place 240 overclocked fuel generators per 600 oil used lol
rather have my little chernobyl incident thatn deal with that
is geothermal power ever worth it?
it's free, unfailable power
worth in my book
you don't pay any cost for it apart from one-time build cost, so basically nothing
it does
Any1 just generally know if building the 600 oil per minute equivalent of turbo fuel will generate some decent power?
even just diluted fuel would give you a lot of power, no reason to do TF imo
I have diluted fuel too
I have turbofuel since I didn't get to t4 for a while
How many
2 lines of 540 -> 300 turbofuel to 80 gens, that's probably gonna last me until nitro rocket fuel
But
Oh no
I have 1800 oil coming in…
well I just used 2 600 wells and I'm wasting the excess, it's whatever for now
honestly, I'd just do diluted fuel and then go for nuclear
well you need blenders + the recipe, and crater lake makes turbofuel super convenient, I spent so long doing projects in phase 3 that it wouldn't have made sense for me to wait until diluted imo
but yeah if you have access to diluted just do that probably
you don't need blenders for diluted fuel
I have access to all three beneficial alternate recipes involving turbo fuel or its components
you can do the packaged variant
it'll get you this much https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production?share=euZkOsfq67kad1qC7ycD
planners are useful
The only problem i have with building this
Is that i need whatever this leads to but times 3
Actually about 2500 but we dont talk about that part
just go nuclear at that poin
I already have
ok just plug in 2500 into the oil input and see what it spits out then if you're just doing this for reasons
it's not a problem at all
Im gonna keep the 700 for the things i need to craft with oil so just 1800
Oh its 1920 generators
yeah, hence go nuclear, but if you're already burning all the uranium on the map... you do you
But imagine all of those generators…
However
Nuclear is a bunch of recipes to make the fuel, then a whole bunch to dispose of it
And i dont like that, but i also dont like 1920 generators needing to be built
Maybe i should go back to coal 🤔
Don't
At the end of the day i just wanna build massive factories so either going nuclear or fuel, they both fulfull my needs
75 MW per generators and two inputs vs. The 375 per generator and 1 input of fuel
So i might just do both
I've decided to hold off on going too deep in my new run in the lead up to 1.2 experimental
I mean 20k coal gens does sound awfully pretty
Okay maybe 1920 fuel powered generators doesnt sound so bad anymore
Its either that or a lot of nuclear ones
Nuclears fun ^^
And kinda cheap tbh
Yeah but then id have to drag convenyors from all across the map into one spot
Trains :>
Drones :>
Unreliable
Make more than you need so you can have a margin of error ^-^
Whats the problem with just the classic conveyors
-very reliable
-very conveying
don't need the disposal part if you don't want
Just stack up on waste?😭
yeah
-# 5 million industrial storage units at the bottom of the map
My plan is to use Plutonium Rods to power my drones
The problem with that would be if i had the entire worlds uranium all making fuel for reactors, i feel like you would need a couple storage units
Then I'll just go "Oops all drones" to deliver shit to the "Megafactory™"
Trademark😭
Btw are there any good alt recipes for nuclear cause i got a couple here perchance
yeah, but one blueprint worth of storages would give you a lot of space
that depends how you define good
Beneficial
More generators
per?
Just more in general
As in, most fuel rods per unit of uranium?
Yes
see, that's what I was asking for
Checking the wiki you want Infused Uranium Cell and Uranium Fuel Unit
Oh i actually just have those waiting to be chosen rn
Out of the 5 hard drives 2 of them had the right things
Thats very satisfactory
Caterium😔
Crystal oscilator😞
Okay maybe these alt recipes aint for me
Anyone able to give me a hand figuring out why my fuel gens keep surging?

Will do
Where do you get all the cool building stuff?
I mean it exists u just don't have access too it
why is there not just a foundation but cut in half diagonally like a sandwich
