wdym
did you start in the grassy fields?
if i want inf automate coal i gotta make a coal miner which is
where is the ideal plastic and rubber production location on the map?
i gotta bring it back to base
anwwhere with oil
to automate coal gens
no you don't
go north north west, over a cliff, you'll find a big lake with 4 coal nodes, just mine and burn it there
u happend to know the best efficent oil to rubber/plastic recipes
oh yea power lines exist tf im doing
oil to HOR alt to Diluted fuel alt to recycled plastic/rubber
the waterfall?
Any node close to water is understated, it's really easy to setup right there. Fast to use it at source instead of transporting. Save transporting bottled stuff for later
btw is power line infinite
near one
Cables are not infinite
its so long
cables can carry infinite power
Oh you mean power transporting, yeah
I think most people use 1 universal power grid
it really isnt
longer than a factory game i played
I think most people will know the name of nearly every factory game title here
... the time or the distance?
400m is very short
does transporting electric take time
did it when you were connecting things up with bio burners?
its long vro
Machines take a few to make items but power is instant
yeah then what is it when he mentioned time
Same with turning things off with power switches, it's instant
I was baffled that you thought 400m was far
it is far
you're going to have a rough time with the rest of the game then
That's regular power pole distance right?
sounds scary
they were talking about the distance to their coal
Oh that's nothing
i was talking about THE POWER POLESS
biggest misunderstanding
also the coal nodes near the river is 4 right
ima get 4 miner
4 normal nodes in jungle crater/ crater lake
I'd burn all 4 nodes
with 1 coal gen?
Blue crater lake has coal a bit further out but it's also 4 nodes
oh why is this thing massive
ima go north west like he said
oh yea i can jst use scan
i dont think it got anything in nw
you do
north east or north west?
north north west. About 1km away depending where you're starting from
Watch out for hogs there too, they'll punt you off of the cliff sides
Aluminum component, it's also around the map as temporary nodes and is the most useless temporary node
Temporary nodes become useless the second you find an infinite node
Crawler, purple stuff is either SAM or quartz
i definitely know quartz
can i send it in off topic media tho
probably lemme jst fight the black creature
oh its spitter
yo whats mercer sphere
does an ender dragon gang up on me if i pick it up
nvm picked it up
no spoilers just pick it up!
keep pinging coal
is it normal for this game to feel overwhelming for a new player cause im feeling overwhelmed π
its north east i swear pls
yea it is
kinda complex but fun
depending on how far you plan to go tbh
treat teh milestones as a tutorial - jsut there to learn π don't stress too much
?
basically why i play on keep inventory π
wait u can?
yea in game settings
Both of those settings don't remove achievements
No detriment in doing that, crawlers and hatchers are terrible
i play on retalliate, but for some reason everything is on passive except hatchers
its just they attack you only if you attack first
They're supposed to*
If satisfactory had a difficulty setting it would be fluid related
Because i would change fluids like this in a heartbeat
ive been dealing with fluids for a long time, never had problems until now
i just spent 30 minutes trying to repair my aluminium, found out i frogot to flush my pipes before
youre gonna be glad you did that when you see alpha stingers
π
Alpha stingers and nuke hogs
Aluminium is the first true test of dealing with byproduct and reuse π
i usually dont mind radiation, its just annoying at some times
Crude oil is a taste of it
Yeah, but the byproduct initially is soilid so you can sink it.
its not hard but when i am trying to do 10k aluminium ingots per minute water gets annoying to deal with
depening on what you use, say you want plastic, but also get heavy oil residue
My first turbo fuel didn't do to hot but I did so much wrong anyway and a mega factory design burned me out
im making a factory making 1600 fuel per min, but the crude oil is killing me, it keeps sloshing
Oh I know large scale aluminium, here's mine, it processes all of the maps bauxite: #design-and-architecture message
Ive never done turbofuel before. Too scared to do that big of a project
#screenshots message can i remove this rock actually
My old turbofuel was a real monster, the waste resin was reprocessed into plastic.
Using bombs. Yeah
bombs??????
the space is the biggest problem
nah i think ima pass that node
Have you not unlocked tiers 3 and 4 yet?
Research sulfur
We get to blow stuff up #screenshots message
I always forget to build up.
yea, im gonna do that when i make 8000 rocket fuel per min π€
that kind of spoil me a lot
yo dawg after u said that i jst found sum sulfur ore
lol
Nice
Probably a temp node, the devs intentionally made sulfur the dumbest material in the world for no reason
Sulfur is more valuable than coal, iron, and crude oil combined
Yes, that's why I told you to build gens in the crater lake
you need h2o for coal gen
Coal is near there
sigh
oh wait thank you
thank god
a lake next to me i jst discovered
with a raw quartz
ts blessed my whole life
Hmm
how do i collect water
!wikisearch Water Extractor
youll need tons of sheets at this point
copper sheets early game is fine, just mid game is where it starts to get more important
if i get back to my base i gotta walk back for like 20 mins
are you familar with bunny hopping
Bunny hop is intended for flat ground and downhill runs
Any incline kills your momentum
Is diluted packaged fuel a good alt recipe?
Yes
Cool thanks
yea, its literally what i used for my fuel factory lol
950 crude oil to 1600 fuel
Alternate heavy oil residue is also goated as hell
yea
If you have a side rubber setup at like 200 or so, that much fuel can make SO much recycled plastic and rubber
Pretty sure I got that one last night
The only downside to alt packaged residue fuel is that you need to loop empty containers back to water at a decently steady rate
It's a decent number of containers, having those ready before hand does require some math shenanigans if your belts are long enough
just throw a container down somewhere along the belt and fill it with containers
HOR + DF turns 600 crude into 1600 fuel
20,000 MW if you burn it
i had 4 mk4 belts each carrying 400 packages per min going into refineries and packagers
Alt nitro rocket fuel and normal also produce compacted coal as a byproduct?
yea both give compacted coal
That gives me an idea
you can recycle it into more turbo, burn it as is, or sink it
Recycling for turbo requires more fuel, and I'd rather skip normal and go straight to nitro
Although I will admit building hundreds of fuel burners sure does sound like compelling gameplay
the one thing i dont like about oil
They really need to tone this down
you build lines and lines of refineries and fuel generators
Compacted coal is useful still with alt compact steel, copper, and caterium
i want to start with trains, its just i cant find a good bluepirnt
yeah
Plus many more
just build a train line
just do a push-pull system first
Same kinda deal with raw petrol, it can be made into diamonds
then try dual tracks
And aluminum
ive dealt with trains before
oh right
other saves
Do this first?
what are you looking for in a blueprint
What should I bring? And from where?
Thats my biggest thing, idk what to bring where and from
Steam..? Discord...?
what do you need the blueprint for?
dual lanes, junctions, ...
i saw totalxclipse make line quadruple lane
2 lane bottom and 2 top
nope, however you can keep getting power slugs but very slow
how???
by taming lizard doggos, they can sometimes give you power slugs
what do i need to tame them????
paleberrys
alright thx
Hey, is there a place somewhere in the Rocky desert where there are pure coal deposits and water sources right next to each other can someone share me the coordinates for that ?
The closest I can think of would be the north east of the rocky desert, kind of a delta of a river, and pure coal near it, exact coords, I don't know, sorry.
possibly SE on the cliff?
but in general you don't get much mroe from pure nodes than normal because your belts will be limitng your output
not until mk6 belts
My memory is a bit hazy, I haven't built there in ages.
I was planning on building a 8 coal generator setup so a pure node would be good as I could produce just enough with a mrk1 miner
+mrk2 belts
just over clock normal nodes - you'll want to burn 3-4 entire coal nodes for power anyway
The location I'm on about is where I built this back in early access #design-and-architecture message
same spot π
I did say my memory is really hazy, it doesn't help that I'm unwell enough that I ought to be back in my bed, I just cannot sleep.
I'm sorry you're unwell π getting better I hope?
Right now it doesn't feel like it, if I'm still the same tomorrow I'm calling in sick.
I mean it sounds like you should have been calling in sick and just resting now
I get that, I just did my job on friday feeling like death warmed up haha, now I'm paying for it.
Tbh I thought I could just get away with it since I work in the IT workshop, I can just do my work and not need to go on site etc as I'm one of those responsible for deployments & repairs, but well, nope π€£
just having to be on the ball on tasks is enough to make you worse in that state :\
blinked and its 7am and I've made little to no progress on this project
Yep, I learned that after running into the good old AMD TPM vs Intune Autopilot issues π€¦ββοΈ , oh well, right now I'm debating on building my new steel processing & motor plant instead as I have a lot of demolished stuff to build in a decently scaled manner (4x what I had)
And I want to locate an impure copper and move copper to depot to that site, freeing up the pure I'm wasting on basics.
Why not make your own? I also wouldn't really expect a lot of "junctions" to fit inside the blueprinter easily
I do that in both the workshop and with satisfactory projects, I look up and WTF did six hours go.
had a 5 minute mounting thing turn into a 3 hour job last time I was working on something irl
time sink is forever
Reminds me of my last deployment, sure only half hour per system, doing four in parallel, what could possibly go wrong, never underestimate Intune, I got twelve machines done in eight hours π€¦ββοΈ
nooo π
I half took out our thunderlaser for two weeks last time I sent a part it was tragic
One thing our work has in common with satisfactory, time just goes byebye and we wind up questioning our life choices π
unfortunately π
Tbh though, in spite of all the quibbles, I quite enjoy my work π
takes like 5 tries to get these floor numbers facing my elevator and its been annoying me since like floor 2 π
cant stop coming back
Tech support war stories become highlights "ticket says camera doesn't work" ~have you tried opening the privacy cover ~ yeah of course I have, ...ooook press your thumb to the right on the top middle of the screen (camera suddenly has a picture), ~there you go . fixed π€¦ββοΈ
I've seen it here in satisfactory, my pipes won't fill up, do you have a pump or valve backwards ~**NO! **, can I see a picture ~sure. shows image of four backwards pumps.
always something quick and easy like tightening a nut but because the person who needs it does programming they assume worst case
Is it just me or phase 5 seems really easy compare to phase 4 like I already automated 2 project part almost 3
I just delete and replace pipes until they work lol
To be fair I have had a pipe that's snapped but not actually connected, those are maddening to diagnose as I have to inspect every section until I find the bit where one is full, and the next one is completely empty.
friend im doing this save with unlocked the dimension inventory thing and im using all our mercer spheres for silica and steel beams for my windows lol
that got me once and never again
if thats not the issue I just tear everything down and give it another try usually
In my case it was a monster refinery that was taking up every last drop of oil in the spire coast, one pipeline had to be the longest and most buggy assembly I ever laid down, it had three glitched joins.
first ever coal set up
scarred for like bc I had no idea what I was doing in the first place smh
I'm considering a more distributed oil setup for rubber & plastic actually in the spire, every oil well will have it's own refinery cluster directly above it, feeding the finished products into the dunes via the tunnel network.
ever since you showed me part of that save I think of trying something similar everytime I need a long belt
still pre trains and I despise tractors so I have a 1.5km long copper belt for this phase 2 stuff
I just don't know if I can get away with building the spire rubber & plastic clusters first with my stored parts, or rebuild some basics first, I think I want the spire oil.
id do basics ngl
simple but scaled factories are the most enjoyable builds of the game imo
The mk6 belts make transiting the finished products far easier than running monster pipelines like my previous save, and since the spire coast has a lot of water around the wells, I don't need a 3km water pipe cluster crossing the desert to feed production like the old one
abt half a million points per ticket right now and I have 53 banked from getting 32kppm while building
if you need the oil products to do the basic stuff properly then oil
but I loveeeee building for basic components idk what it is
best phase 3 item for sink?
I can grab rubber & plastic from the depot, as 240 of each are produced using power station byproducts.
I want to get the main production lines running and feeding into primary production though, I have just short of 5000 steel ingots waiting to be used as well.
I think I have the stored parts to build the whole oil chain from scratch though.
The feeling of when you finally can turn off your biofuel generators and can switch too 100% efficient methods like coal
fr
I still have my old coal plant of 32 generators running, it's what's contributing towards my just shy of 1.2Tw of power, I need to decomission that and redirect the coal into time crystals.
built a 600 for my first in this save
I nearly levitated
then used the power to build up resources for a planned 4500
My actual power output #design-and-architecture message
but stopped building it at 2250 because it was a lil mindnumbing
Yeah it really says 1,189,350.1 π€£
Right, to satisfactory tools! , I need to design three different refinery cluster layouts in order to swallow the spire coast.
was the straight build mode for belts a thing pre-1.0?
No, I had to position the belt supports prior to 1.0, it can still be flaky post 1.0, your milage will vary #screenshots message & #screenshots message .
thank god π
I habitually use default mode and do the 2 nudges away thing with poles still
just discovered the straight mode and thought I'd been wasting time
yeah I've run into the squiggles around mergers and splitters a couple times alr
Hmm, while my rubber/plastic might not be as efficient, I might be able to produce a ton of time crystals.
What type of float value is sink points per ticket? I wanna assume 32 being -2 billion to +2 billion
4~ billion in total
Does sink rate have an absolute limit? It wouldn't make sense to wrap around and it can't increase forever
I have 0 idea there.
Heya there.
Im a prety new player with a mere 90h play time.
I just reached the oil age in my play through and im having a blast.
Im really excited to go further on and be part of this very nice seeming community
90 hours reaching oil is an actual achievement in itself
Welcome aboard, remember you only get your first playthrough once, laugh when you make a giant booboo, don't optimise the fun out yet π
ive been building this one factory for 13 hours and im still pre oil π
Im taking my time and spend more time on decorating than getting progress xD
I dont start a new factory till im happy with the looks of the current one
I'm currently tackling a default design for scalable oil to rubber/plastic refinery clusters, just the design work alone is taking up my time, let alone actually building the things all over the spires.
I believe if someone would have told me there is an jetpack in this game i would have rushed to it so the building gets a tad easier. Kinda glad i didnt know tho.
(Im not watching any videos towards the game so i have a few surprises on the way)
Well it does take a bit to unlock it
My approach to early building tends to be a lot of temporary ramps and foundations so I can see what I'm building from as many angles as I need.
And getting a reliable fuel source
Also people usually use the hover pack for building
The what
can't remember if its unlocked with or sometime after jet pack
I believe afterπ
It lets you stay still in hair and not worrying about fuel also increased building range
tbh it should be unlocked sooner for building
Oh boy, I'm going to need to design a beltway to even numbers, the clusters will be making 666 rubber/plastic, and smaller clusters doing 333 ....
That, ladders and photo mode are to this point my best toolsπ
I prefer to use foundations and ramps because I'm always falling off ladders π
ye photo mod is pretty useful, a little buggy sometimes too
It crashes the game sometimes
Oh? Haven't have that experience yet.
Maybe it works a bit better on consoles?
Overall my game didnt crash once so far
I have noticed it usually happens when i use it after moving far away from where i used it last time
It doesn't seem to always start at the player and goes back to where you left that mod which might be the cause
Although that was a while ago might be fixed now
Might even be when 1.1 was in experimental
I need to decide on a balance of rubber to plastic I think, maybe 70% plastic, last save had a lot of rubber go unused.
And this time around I'm going to be producing more!
I just realised i have to replan all my factorys cause they need train stations...
The answer is always more.
depends how you define "good" π
I'm tinkering with recipes on tools right now to design each cluster to spew out much more than last save.
Last save made only 2400 rubber & plastic after consuming the whole spire coast, not very efficient.
recycled rubber / plastic recipe with packaged/dilluted fuel recipe = smex
I'll be using blender dilute for simplicity.
I think people are ignoring that its packaged not normal
I enjoy a lot of the rubber-consuming alt recipes if you haven't tried many of those before. My first large plastic+rubber build is about 50/50 and then I got to find reasons to use it all π
Nuts, I never enab ... time to fix six plans π€¦ββοΈ
they are the same
Kinda i guess
That threw the plans into chaos π€£
Just a bit more work for the packaged
well, only at the start making the blueprint
Hi quick question what does the input on alien power things? What is the input?
then it's equal
for when you need to input something into them
Am I considered a bad player for having creatures on passive?
Idk im not a fan of battle in a "factory" base builder game
Its late game
a good reason to learn how to use the blueprinter
Why do you care what people here think? The game is supposed to be fun for you
Other people's consideration of your playstyle in a singleplayer-focused game is not worth of your time as long as you are having fun.
I spent 200 hours in phase 1 because I loved decorating and wanted to see my limits of how much I could go so far.
People finish the game in 50 hours.
Its generally not much of a challenge you just have to brave them once
They don't spawn when you have a factory where they spawn
That way of thinking is way to healthy for my usual gamesπ
But i suppose you are right and i shouldn't give to much about it
hey guys
You paid for the game, you can simply just go around and explore to see the view and never put a single machine for all someone cares.
You should not give it anything, at all.
i built a lizard doggo prison
You go prison now. Go jail. Irl.
Yeah it's not a "competitive" MP game so there's no cheating. People are allowed to have fun with it however they want
ALso this game is God damn beautiful for the first time and more.
Tbh, I'm glad you mentioned the forgotten dilute recipe while I was still laying out plans, realising the mistake halfway through construction would have been horrible.
Gulag is meant for people like you.
Meanwhile I got 8 doggos in a "prison", quotes mind you. They still see sky.
why did I say air instead of sky? I have no idea.
I just give them foundations and a few glass walls so they don't run out in front of my vehicles π
I am not englishin'.
his name is fluffo 0001
Now each clusters output is revised upwards from 666, 333 & 166, to 1700, 850 & 425, that is a serious gain just from a forgotten recipe.
TO BE ULTRA MAJOR OMEGA ALPHA FAIR WITH YOU BROTHERMAN, I actually wanted to keep them in a certain empty zone.
Problem is, they TRULY can roam far away.
Since the clusters are going up in the spire, water is so not a problem.
One of them went for the Ocean so far that it couldn't come back. Had to use SCIM to get him back lols.
I've had bad luck losing them any time they didn't have a foundation floor so now it's just the first place they go as soon as I get them back to the hub

ok but lets be honest, doggos should be grabable, like the mod
I agree, the basher is the best weapon. It makes me feel like a jedi with a cardboard wrapping paper tube
yes they should be
So I can't just wall off an area with actual grass or they escape?
In my experience it's less escape and more fall into the ground lol
Aw, that nukes my nature enclosure idea, I didn't want to build a prison like cell.
I absolutely second this.
But I also think there is space to evolve in more.
I dont know what the story ends in yet as it is my first play through.
And I also dont know if there is somethings i didnt discover yet.
But I wish that there is something else to explore
With all the mercer spheres that evolve in to a conversation between ada and (error 404 name not found)
There would be some space to make some ruins of some kind of what ever it is or something.
I really love the design of the map and overall the game just sometimes it feels a tiny bit to empty for my personal liking.
But as far as I understand the game is not at all fully finished so there is things to come. Or maybe thats something that will not come cause its not in the interests of the developers. Whats how ever its an awesome game so far!
yeah I'm not sure if anything has been improved with that in updates but it's my holdover superstition from EA and I'm sticking to it π€£
Yeah, if something goes bad and might need scim to fix, I'll generally avoid since I do not edit my save, ever.
yeah doggos are obnxious enough to get to follow you for long distances I just don't mess with what's worked for me
Looking at my spire project in tools, lets say I'm glad I built the power station I have, the numbers of refineries in each cluster is unkind.
Long story ULTRA short: Devs were gonna do something with story. But new leadership stirred the game to a "more wider audience, easy access, ultra sandbox" mode.
Main reason for this is the extremely long EA time.
Here is just one 600 oil well so far https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production?share=OfJdtGDQ7ksEcNpR82PY
That said, one cluster isn't far off the total output of that product from the entire refinery in the past.
Thats unfortunate. I would have loved to see some little side story getting in to all of that
I think I had maybe a different perception of the "ruins" part. I thought a lot of the map where you'd see the big chunks of stuff with a rebar mesh sticking out already felt really ruins-y to me. It all at least felt not-naturally-occurring
I think the main plan was to have those 2 other mentioned "successful lands" a thing as a lore.
Its just my chungus guess and highest reach possible kek
Yay, my current save even though it's mostly under developed already gets the too much objects error when trying to see it in scim.
Do they get mentioned in the game? Or is that from some Interview?
Cause if its in the game i either didnt get there yet or missed it
How many alien power booster can you activate at once?
the first dialogue states that there are 2 more pioneers before us that landed successfuly.
what happened to them is never explained (we only find another old-timer helmet so one is surely perished)
Oh wow. That went completely over my head some how...
as many as you have resources
What am I doing, I can max clock .... I need more coffee!
Be careful or else you get a stainπ
No chance I'm wasting perfectly good coffee π
I dont think im using smart splitters correctly. I have a conveyor with plastic and rubber coming into a smart splitter, in the right output set for rubber i have a lift going into an assembler and the center output is set for any. Shouldn't the center output send forward both rubber and plastic?
I mean I'm saying 90 hours is fast. It took me a really long time to figure things out in this game for some reason
Lol ADA, is this an attempt at a scientific experiment, I flushed one of the unneeded ficsmas cartridges.
Satisfactory is the first logistics sim game I've played, and it's a lot to learn at once
It's a middle entry point in terms of other popular factory sim games
God the more I think the more questions i have...
I need to make packaged fuel
How do I transport it?
Belt?
Train?
Where do i transport it to?
My current "base" thats already crammed with everything?
A new location that i build as large main storage?
If current base: how do i fitt it all
If new base: where?
Near my facilities?
In the centre of the map?
Jeez this game is doing my head in in a ... better way then other games but still π«
I really really wish shapez 2 was on console and I can't stress this enough
I might get the steam machine
use a lizard-doggo launcher
Choice of transport is up to you, that's the beauty of this game., though if moving tons of packaged fuel, a train might be a good choice.
why transport it at all? build near nodes, make it there
I still want to build a backrooms catch site at 0,0 on the map complete with sickly yellow walls, that collects things that fall through the map.
Cause the spot i make it at is not a spot that im at much and dont want to run there any time I need it.
that's why you use dimensional depots
Trains have a stop time for throughput, so you need an item buffer to have a steady rate
I dont really like them and try avoid using them.
But I get where you come from
Does anyone else feel a like, gutteral pain from having to use power shards?
Like, I'm planning a factory and I'm currently at a point where just one power shard would greatly increase the ease that this factory runs at... But I don't wanna use it
if you really don't want to use depots, then just make it at nodes anyway and then just transport it to central storage
I mean they are practically infinite but it's really your choice
There are enough slugs in the world to sloop 6000~ shards which is already overkill and you can synthesize them later
That was my thought proces. But my current base was not thought at storage base so i have to build a new one. Wich leads us to the next question: whereπ
It's not about them being limited, I currently have 215 shards and I don't even have oil yet. It's more the feeling that it's taking a shortcut
Research sloop bonus if you haven't already, have a small factory slooping slugs
wherever you want really. (though again you can avoid all that with dimensional depots)
you're improving machines at a cost π€·
YOU killed all those snails i hope you think of that every time you go to sleep!
I do and I am proud of it.
hay guys where i can find my save file?
Think of power shards as a speed multiplyer more than a throughput modifier
Maybe you threw it in to a sink?
You are sickening!
I'm converting slugs now, I used my last power shards making time crystals.
If you're at the point of time crystals just synth shards anyway
where on the game archives i find it?
The most worth it somersloop ever!
Too busy rebuilding other things, in addition, I cannot sink them so I didn't see the need to infinite just yet.
Not when I still have slugs.
I realy wish i could help you but I play on console so i have no idea. You wont get more than a bad joke out of me :/
lol kakaka okay thanks anyway
This is why you blueprint all of your designs ahead of schedule
That way the individual blueprints are upgradable, you can delete the old ones, and replace them with the shiny new belts and efficiency
In spite of my colossal scale, I actually seldom use blueprints π€·ββοΈ
Even with their limits, 6Γ6 does a lot more than you think
I'm aware of that, I just find it straight forward enough just tossing down machines in a hurry as opposed to trying to come up with generic designs that don't fit all.
Some people modify this and just make copy paste factories anyway
Placing hundreds of the same exact building isn't very tantalizing gameplay
Oh god... x. 0 y. 0 is not in the centre of the map... my day is ruined. Worst game ever made
Maybe not, but it's what I've done since I started very early in early access and it works in spite of building structures that are multi-kilometre monsters.
Monster factories just burn your CPU anyway
I have 64gb so it's not really that much of an issue, I think my cpu would be unhappy first.
My old world used to need 47gb just to even load due to multiple colossal facilities on the map.
Though the amount of nodes in close proximity to water is decently small...
Wouldn't be the first time I've build a continent spanning pipeline to address that.
Right now I'm currently preparing to take up every last drop of oil in the spire coast for the sake of production.
Doc said this about worldwide pipes: "anything that can be transported an extremely long distance via pipe is better used to package and transport on a train"
At least i think he was the one with that advice
When working, the simplicity of the pipes when full works out just fine, without extra points of failure, you just need to let the thing fill up.
My old setup was a pipeline that extended across the entire spire coast, and moved the oil to the dunes for processing, once troubleshooting was done, it worked fine.
I do like the prospect of pipe highways (mostly 600mΒ³ pipelines) spanning the map
And it doesn't seem... too terrible to logistically setup
Here's part of the old setup, it collected all the oil in the spire and moved to the dunes #design-and-architecture message
Yea what I'm thinking would be something similar
One thing you'll see with my pipeline, it is completely level across the whole thing, it avoids certain hiccups.
hello is there any layouts for the awsome shredder for late game beginners
which item can i preduce only for the shredder
Aside from the entry point needing head lift
Make 60 nuclear pasta/min
The input in that example does have to rise up but after that it is flat like you say
im at the beginning of the game
Pump goes there, the reason to elevate is the level system though.
Yeah
Any projects part tbh is good
I don't think I managed 60 in my old save alas, here's the feed from the partially complete factory back then #design-and-architecture message
No way how much copper did you use
Crude to HoR/Rubber can only flow at 600mΒ³ anyway, the more I think about modulation the more I want to start fresh again
hey guys sorry for interrupting your conversation but I have a quick question if you have a second
Flow and logistics is why I'm building clusters within the spire this time, and will belt via tunnel the produce instead of moving the oil, it also frees space in the dunes.
It's been a while but way too much.
??
should I start using MK. 2 belts asap after unlocking them because they seem quite expensive
They are expensive
Tons of copper sheet are only necessary in late game
Sorry, I generally treat "interruptions" as though they aren't there and just carry on π , just ask a question eh π
Use them if needed don't use them if not needed
Nuke plants eating almost every copper resource is pretty funny though
yeah but my production seems like it needs a bit more speed ngl
they are very expensive, use them where they are needed but they are also a good insentive to automate in larger amount
Considering expense is a losing proposition, if you have something automated, just use it.
It won't speed up anything if the machine don't need more
If you want to speed up thing put more machine down
Reminder that even 10 per minute will get you there eventually
"eventually"
well the machines are producing more than the belts are able to carry out in time like my screws production goes on maybe 3 minutes after the power has run out maybe even longer
I generally try to have belt max throughput match the facility requirements, it looks cooler that way, though a refit is generally a pain, here's an old example #design-and-architecture message
It should never happen but upgrade your belt then
Well, if you need 5000 parts in later game I guess 10/min is decently sluggish
Leaving satisfactory idle while you do errands or real life work helps
#design-and-architecture message looks so organised
I love it
okay thanks
I've seen some really great looking 60/min belt factories.
I swear some people here are genuinely rocket scientists
I used a lot of mk1 & mk3 belts in that one, but you do need to pay attention to the numbers going through the factory to match it for the rule of cool, most folks just use the fastest possible which has the lest chance to fail, I just don't like seeing 40ppm zooming past at the speed of sound only to present an empty belt for the majority of the time.
Just a design choice on my part though, don't take it as a rule.
Are smart splitters bugged or am i stupid? π
gotta love the organised factory thats in complete darkness :D
not enough info to answer either way
though generally they work fine...
I'm working on avoiding the darkness woes with these #design-and-architecture message , they rely on the lumen.
oh no im all for it, but then again im the "engineer" type of player where i design the factory to be efficient but like with minimal aesthetic appeal, the amount of open air factories i have rn is abysmal lol
Left output set for rubber, the other one for plastic but it wont take the damn plastic.. when it says left output, is it from the perspective of the input?
I have a few open air skeletons that still need to be taken down & replaced.
in a way i kinda like the beauty of seeing an open air factory
you get to see all its complexity in its entirety
is there a way to make r.fog 0 permanent?
if you were standing on the input belt facing the splitter, the outputs would be from that perspective yes. Left, straight, right
i notice that every time i reboot open the game it turns back on
Smth is wrong then.. do the smart splitters act weird if placed on lifts? Could that be the damn issue?
pass, never used them on lifts
I'd check if there's anything else stuck inside though
maybe rebuild that bit
Is it normal that my game looks a bit blurry?
its from the perspective of you looking at the lift directly iirc
theres always a tell center output from the accenting on top
seems easy enough to test - set it to send everything out one direction, see what direction that is, go from there
like this, red is center
Rebuilt several times and its the same issue
or in the default case its, orange or whatever swatch you have on lol
when next update
unknown, from what i've heard theres a devstream next week so we might get more info then
so far we know its the first half of the year
Center should be opposite to input right? And left and right from input side?
its wherever the accent difference is on top
why not just check it this way π
for mergers the colouring is inverted to splitters
so whatever input/output has a different colouration on top is the center
Because its in a factory with lots of logistics π i'll try to retrace and find out whats going on
anything you have excess of (usually you make things for storage/depot and overflow excess to sink when storage/depot is full)
nah screw colours , i rely on intuition instead .
Not really intuition if the game gives you several indicators both when placing and placed as to what the center is
what do i put in the Alien Power Augmenter input?
alien power matrices, a phase 5 unlock
thanks
i didnt expect josh have a competition
Huh?
If you are using upscaling features it is normal to get some blurring
is it possible to get more somersloops than the 106 on the map?
some people here mention duplication bugs
id just use advanced game settings if you really want them
The is a way to duplicate and reset sloops. You can also use advance settings to put stacks of them in your inventory.
But there is no way to get more that doesnt feel like cheating
i saw a screen shot of someone with 156 and wondered how that was possible
whats that way?
Be more specific. I mentions 3 options.
uh guys which one has pros and cons ? create a factory for modular frame then transport the mf to a different factory to process into hmf or just build one single factory that does everything for hmf ?
HMF all in one place
the way that doesnt feel like cheating
A factory for just HMF is not a large factory. I'd just do that.
Take your time and plan it out tho. Satisfactory tools helps
There is NO way that doesnt feel like cheating
ah
i build my modular frame factory to have my hmf factory built around it
so i can just attach on what i need to what already exists
The least cheaty feeling way is reseting the sloops on the map. I don't know how but I know its a thing
Good way to go about it if you know what's coming ^-^
how much hmf per minute the factory produce? like what is the bare minimum?
Its a self imposed number. Generally speaking i make enough for the phase goal plus some for cloud storage
First time I build them on a save amyways
i make 3.75 for my first factory
that'll give me building supplies and will build up enough to get through the tiers while i'm building other stuff
Howdy
oh, i can attach nobelisks to lizard doggos
@twin parcel that is normal in the dunes. You can raise the belts to avoid the clipping
Ya some ppl will give doggo a stack of radioactive parts then nob the dog
oh i knew that i just didnt know the nobelisks attached to them
You can attach nobelisks to pretty much anything.
wait....trains?
And factory carts
bomber trains??? lets gooo
Any vehicle AFAIK
Drones, trains, trucks.
If you haven't discovered it already, vehicles go nicely with pulse nobelisks.
Makes them go boing.
Heya im building my very first train track and now i have a question:
Would it be smarter to build one "big" train line that takes a round through all of my factorys or should i do several ones that go from point a to point b wit only the recurces needed there?
It Depends(TM)
Generally speaking I always build a two track one direction train system and I build as needed.
For example my starter factory doesnt need a train so why make that add on.
It always depends(TM) doenst it?...
With a question that's not specific enough, usually π
Ya, your current choice are informed by previous choices and future plans
how do i get lots of mercer spheres?
Explore the map. Bring weapons, blade runners and nobelisks.
alright ty
In the mam you can research the ability to use the object scanner to find them. Use the object scanner and the SCIM to find them
mama
Mama
Oooooooo
I just unlocked trains (this save) my plan is to think about long term logistics as I build my factories. Im going to need lots of resources from the blue crater so ill build a large train hub there. Ill need large quanties to quartz so as I build my quartz factory in the purple jungle area ill include trains and so on
time to turn southern forest into an extended version of grass fields
I sometimes wish we had a flamethrower
See here is the thing you can plan ahead.
Its my first play through and im not watching any videos or anything.
I dont know what i will need in the future or even were my next factorys will be.
My 3 current ones were not build in the slightest to fit trains, i just rebuilt 2 so it can fit the stations and I can get the stuff to the very first one that im currently rebuilding to act as big storage base.
Now I dont know if I should take the same train line to the third factory or use another one. And what i do after that I will have to see i suppose
i wish i could destroy those pointy bulbs in southern forest
#screenshots message these things
I wish I could destroy ALL of the wierd mushrooms on the beach in the northwest corner of the map...
Well the question is do those old factories need trains? What purpose do they serve? I find the first few pre train factories just feed sinks and feed my cloud storage. I tend to build new for the purposes ahead
and the answer is "yes, all factories need trains (or some other vehicle)"
Nobs don't work?
nah
In most cases a factory cart doing loops is enough
I dont quite like the dimensional depos so i try not to use them.
Therfore one main storage base.
(Yes its stupid but it gives me more of a feeling for the game and a challenge of inventory planning)
I use both. If I need lots of resources ill load up a train or truck to bring with me
I have one bridge that took 4 freight cars worth of steel beams
i just completed phase 3, what should i do first?
i currently have a surplus of 15kMW aswell as 100kMW in batteries
Likely aluminum. The next belt tier is real nice
Tip for aluminum first timer. Don't mix fresh water and by product water. Find another use for the water. For example wet concrete, pure recipes
Alcad aluminum sheets arr made from aluminum ingots
okay, can u check #screenshots
alclad sheets stack really nice as well, in stacks twice the size of encased steel, which makes them a breeze to work with on belts.
in that area what should i use the water for would you say?
No longer answer here.
But ask your self. How will you get the parts off the mountain.
Not a trick question. Just take some time to think about future logistics many answers. Find the one that right for you
i thought i could just use lifts to get it to the factory
Depends on recipies you have and future plans. In my experience I always need more concrete
god damn it im finally done with the computer factory (9/m computer and 8/min high speed connector), i used caterium alts and I also used the extra petroleum coke for coke steel ingot alt for 100/m steel pipes and 62.5/m steel beams π₯³
okay thanks
After. You have a large aluminum factory and you need casing for a phase parts how do you transport them.
Im just saying planning a few steps ahead may save you headaches.
I am sure you'll do great.
train i guess, or drone if i get that by then
or trucks ig right
worst case is just belt highway
Works fine on my machine π
Oh I mixed first time and it took me days to get it working. Almost broke my spirit.
It was a great lesson amd I learned much. But many ppl quit at that point and I don't want someone's drive to be crushed. I feel like its a second playthrough lesson lol
You do got to lookup a few things about water priority, yea. Because if the product water can't be dumped, the line will shut down.
Like I said great lesson and the fluids guide really helps
What can be potentially a really good concrete farm? I'm not an expert at the game, so a little bit of help could be awesome
Do you mean location or recipe?
Recipe is fine
Damn, I found a perfect spot to put an awesome shop but because of the hitbox of the sink I can't do it π
going through my first playthrough on this game...all I can say is ADA is hilarious!!! Choo Choo Mother******!
same person responsible for the lines is also responsible for the number of eggplants in the game
Gonna have to reconfigure this setup - too much wasted space since I cant put anything there
Rubber concrete is both your most efficient and doesn't use all that much rubber, it's my personal favorite
Thanks man I'll check it out as soon as possible
Wet concrete is mostly useful when you're trying to get rid of water. Fine concrete using silica is annoying because quartz is actually useful for other things
wassah chat
oh hey, fellow oaklands player
lol
Valid to use chatgpt to help with building factory?
invalid
Fine concrete is only useful if you have spare quartz (rarely ever happens) and need concrete in a place close to the quartz that has no limestone nearby (and really, that rarely ever happens either).
It's your game, do whatever. Just... don't come to us if the output is wrong and you ask us to verify the wrong output.
LLMs like ChatGPT hallucinate a lot.
Is there like anything that can help me with calculating inputs and how much of what I need
Yeah I noticed that aswell
Excel and the wiki are enough for most people.
But there's a whole bunch of tools around.
ohh didnt think of that
Yeah I might just use that if it exists
Satisfactory calculator or satisfactory modeler do this. But excel is also fine, you just make multiplications for the ratios
!wikisearch online tools
This page lists links to online tools that can help you in playing by providing e.g. map locations, crafting recipes, factory ratios, plumbing questions, etc.
Satisfactory tools pinned in #math-and-meta is the community go to
But if you're using Excel make sure you don't do what I did and apply the wrong ratio, resulting in making 40 Automated Control Units when you only needed 10
I just used it to calculate all the ratios and buildings thank you very much guys
Best tool on the world won't prevent a user error π
Gotta get one of those calculators with a printer on it
Okay another problem just appeared while using satisfactory tools. I have 900 iron ingot output and its telling me to split it in 471.429 and 428.571, how excatly do I do this without the programmable splitter?
underclocking
You use a manifold
I am using one its just I have to use two separate smelting systems, because I dont have the belt to transport 900 ore
do I just clock it down till its good enough to use with my belt?
What the hell are you making that gave you those numbers and how many fractions will that give you in the rest of your production line.
as long as the 471.429 line is configured to use 471.429 ingots it will eventually overflow to the other line
You can put mergers between splitters (say you only have two 480 belts) just merge the leftover of the first belt into the next manifold. Final splitter on the first manifold is a smart splitter only allowing overflow to go to the next manifold
It's a 1,1:1 ratio. How bad is it really if you start with 50/50?
from the spliter
Okay Imma explain my Problem a bit deeper. I have 900 Ore from 6 miners to transport and only got the mk4 belt. So I was thinking of splitting that up into two smelting systems (which have a manifold each) which I can run with my mk4 belt. Now my question is how I am going to split those 900 iron ingots into the numbers above.
kinda tricky problem
If one of them is saturated, the other will take the rest.
it will initially be 450:450 but once one saturates the other will take the rest
You underclock the machines to get your exact rates, overflow first manifold into the second
wdym the other one will take the rest?
how so, if the smelting systems arent connected
oh but they are
how
side A consumes 428 and side B consumes 471
an input of 450 will overflow the internal buffers of side A because it can only process 428
yes but the smelting system makes side a 450 and side B 450
Easiest approach? Set them up separately at first. Until you have the belt unlocked for 900/min. Or split and merge only one of the miners instead of the whole thing. It's not rocket science but you're looking at the numbers too hard. Go back to how a splitter works. What you actually need at each half of the system.
No, they are saying the 2 systems are not connected at all.
But makes it overcomplicated if you're trying to calculate 2 systems into 1 for some reason.
π π
therefore the remaining 22 will go to side B, it now has an ore throughput of 472 from 450
I would have made one smelting system If I could but i only got mk4
You don't need a completely optimized system from the get go. Just get it running and come back to it later to upgrade the belts, that's seriously the easiest approach.
yes
I get that, but make it easier on yourself. If you have 2 separate systems, use 2 separate builds on Tools.
If you do want to get it running optimized from the start, it's possible. But it seems you're not quite grasping the basics sufficiently.
Yea I think you're right I'll just underclock the miners a bit so it fits on one belt and then it works for nowπ
Underclocking is optional, the miner will simply stop working when the belt is full and start back up when there's room.
oh yeah true
There used to be power advantages to underclocking, but I think they removed the exponentiality of that a long time ago which gives very little benefit now to underclocking.
Slightly more stable on the power so still a good idea if it involves multiple machines, but a miner or two...
shrug
thx for the help man
No problem, this server is full of people who can't help themselves giving out advice.
I'm just one of the people with that virus.
#screenshots message i think there used to be a forest here but im not sure
okay now that i've effectively wiped the southern forest biome off the map, it is time to make it pretty with industrialisation
or you could fix your fuel generators
its only like 4 of them messing up, out of the 300+ odd i have spread across the map
smh
listen deforesting is a very important job
or you just build above it
or i could destroy it all and then build above it
takes so much time
ada would be very disappointed
you dont have to worry about the terrain if you do as i suggested
i've dumped over 1000 nobelisks into eradicating the southern forest from the map
good boy :3
oh no its not about the terrain i dont care about that
but mountains i mean
its about destroying this planet for everything it has
like thats annoying i just build over it
so then they dont see the starlight, so they all die automatically
The desert is an unforgiving wasteland and I wish we could make fake trees and stuff
you can make basically anything
how much iron plate, iropn rod and iron pipe i should need in end game
is 1500/min each enough?
just have an impure node or smth dedicated to filling up a dimensional depot. you should just be making whatever you need, where you need it
i am making some towers for each of it in the desert as there is alot of iron
gonna use all the iron there.
its not rlly recommended to build megafactories for stuff like that
https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/Tutorial:Independency
my pc can handle it, wanne see how much i can push it π
π€·ββοΈ if you want, its just not rlly recommended bc its difficult to properly send the right amounts where you need it
LFG 2-3 people
Does anyone else find that the smoke effects from machines are weird recently? They used to be a constant plume but now theyβre just intermittent puffs
vs just making the amount you need in the place you need it
They always been very meh for me.
Especially Refinery and Smelter smokes are really almost.. not there.
I changed my VFX to medium and it kinda fixed it but my pc has no issues runnigg the game at ultra settings
I am always been ultra and smokes always been ultra meh π
I had an issue with ray tracing too but thatβs just UE5 being shit
ray tracing has always been shit, the only real path forward is full path tracing but thats really expensive to do still hardware wise
The moment that your signs become even slightly obstructed they seem to stop emitting light
doesnt matter if its UE5 or not, ray tracing was and still is marketing garbage, sure path tracing is probably going to be worth it, eventually, once hardware can handle it, but thats probably a ways off
you can always try cyberpunk 2077, it has full path tracing but probably will blow up your pc
Oh I can run cyberpunk
i remember trying it and it was borderline unplayable, unless you use all the frame gen in the world to have a playable framerate
honestly Satisfactory is the only game i found it was worth turning raytracing on fort
at that point you might as well generate a new game keke
Framegen is something is I find weird
I donβt understand why it gets so much hate
fine for single player games but id never use it for something competitive or multiplay4er
because some devs and use it in place of proper optimization, and then you have games that have alot of artifacts and looks horrible
Okay no thatβs fair
there is some really bad examples where games require framegen for 1080p at 60 fps, pretty bad stuff
Iβm at 1440p with pretty consistent 100+ FPS
I only really use framegen for poorly optimised games cough EA
Satisfactory has been one of the best optimized modern games ive played
i was referring to examples like monster hunter wilds, just go look at that games recommended, 1080p at 60 fps with frame gen enabled, thats ridiculous
Insane even
oh and it gets better because thats only at "medium" settings, i mean seriously thats really bad
anyways those are examples of why frame gen get so much hate, because of that bullshit
the game doesnt run on my 3060 laptop
even with upsacling. im lucky to get 20fps
madness
this is in a 10 degree Celsius warehouse wher cooling is no issue
Friends who have similarly speced desktops have the same issues for MHwilds
I sure love these modern games with garbage levels of optimization
with the 3060 being rereleased they better start optimazing lol
though if this is the future of gaming, houston i think we have a problem
Is there any recipe or general layout people prefer for plastic / Rubber produktion?
lol, we can only hope
The bio burner at the hub, running since Day 1: "I'm tired of this, grandpa"
its bc its a laptop. its a diff type of 3060 which isnt as powerful, and the cpu is also not as powerful
Oh, i know this but friends with simular specs Desktops have the same issues
had/ apperently the last update fixed a lot
ppl say LGIO helped a lot with optimization w his crazy saves
i'm done, wanna see my final result?
What I did is I fullscreened the game and then it magically got good
I have coal-fired power plants, but my power keeps going out. Can anyone tell me why?
Your consumption is above your production, most likely because some of your plants are turning off
why isnt my train freight platform taking any cargo from conveyor belts
also i have build a 3 one but the power going out, maybe not enough water?
make sure it's powered and set to revive
on "load"
Post in #1038092680493801533 because we'll want screenshots, but my guess is you're not getting enough water to the plants
That's the most common issue
yeah its on load
if theres a train docking try canceling
OOOH
i know, i destoryed the previous train station but kept the freight platform and now the game is confused
what
why it doesn't still work
wtf everything should work
this gotta be some bug
I've destroyed many train stations without destroying the freight platform and never had an issue. Trains are finicky, but issues are usually user based π
well yeah then what the hell is the problem if there shouldn't really be any
So i need some help woth my building techniques like on how to make it look better while being efficient too
got any ideas
#1038092680493801533 might find there or #design-and-architecture
making buildings look good often starts by creating depth by adding pillars and other odjects
alr idk i just rebuilt the whole train station and now it works
thanks ill try adding some pillars to my box like builds today
this game is filled with osha violations
A little question, is possible destroy the giant tree?
Of course I do!
Well, it's a laptop.
is it possible to change the order of stuff in dimension depot
Only to the degree of favouriting, even that gives another "fixed" order which is so maddening, they do need to change that and/or allow for items to be removed from the depot queue.
Everyone says thios but Satisfactory runs wonderfully on it
A fluid depot would be really cool, especially if you just need a quick item or 2
No, the trees in the Titan Forest are essentially terrain
Shame the games nuclear devices are too weedy to blast the thick trees off this rock.
They genuinely are quite weak
Definitely, look how many I set off here just to clear some land in the swamp #screenshots message
any recommendations on supercomputer factory location? struggling to find a happy spot with enough copper (or alternatively with SAM if doing that recipe route)
does the use of unnessescary mergers and splitters slow down production?
Just ship materials and build wherever you like, just be prepared to be building roads rail or beltways.
if it does it's a computer problem
i do have a location on the map coordinates are -932 -1460 there is a copper node and a SAM node but the SAM node is deep inside a cave
alr thanks
In my example, if I need to use SAM, I now just build it in the dunes because that's where all the worlds sam goes #design-and-architecture message
@swift turret you said i wouldnt be able to get to oil without more power. couldve gone without the power storage but i didnt wanna turn off space elevator parts. im all good on weapons. i did this JUST to spite you π
So it would be a better idea to take and bring the resources to an external processing point
Hola!
I mean you can build in among the trees. Processing onsite or elsewhere is kind of a separate question
ΠΠ΄ΡΠ°Π²ΡΡΠ²ΡΠΉΡΠ΅ (Just kidding hello there)
lol hi
Nuclear winter lmao
Dune desert has a crap ton of copper
What recipes are you wanting to use? There's a path of supercomputers that makes heavy use of quartz, and another that's much more around aluminum
already using it
No matter how many nukes I let off, I'd never get the temp to go down and make the world snow it out π
whichever make my life easier π
Nuclear winter just means the planet is covered in a blanket of radioactive material
It is "essentially" snowing down with radiation
Well, a few million tons of particulates in the upper atmosphere blotting the sun out.
Yep
You saw how many nukes I fired in just one clearing, I've been really really free with nukes, alas no changes to the weather because the game isn't coded for it π€£
IIRC, the OC super computer alt recipe is in thr base game and its the best one IMHO. Super easy and you just need radio control units and cooling systems
Ok but I don't know what your map looks like so that makes it hard to say
I like the spot with oil at the end of the grand canyon, there's caterium on the heights above, that's most of the resources you need
I made my super computers with the battery alt and distributed parts factories. I chose the spot atop the cliff side with limestone, copper, and iron worked well for this, I carted over the caterium from deeper in the northern forest
i see
I would like to make an aluminum processing area outside the bamboo forest, also because I need to have a facilitated distribution point for aluminum casing
Yeah both of the spots I'm mentioning you haven't used. If you wanted to go heavy silica you could also take the left side of the inlet and bring quartz out of that cave, make silica circuit boards
The Crater Lakes area can be good for this
Honestly I should make a more complete infrastructure for trains but I don't know how to build it
Take a pause from building and figure it out! They're lots of fun and not very difficult
I have a 120gw plant that occupies the area
My problem is that playing from console I struggle with the most complex or "detailed" constructions
then keep it simple, you don't have to make it crazy for it to work π
If you don't expect 40 fps and PC 3060 graphics, sure.
Well, if the factories don't get too big there's quite a lot it will do actually.
But then, Satisfactory was made by a company that understood they had to optimize their game and that monster hunter stuff was made by a bunch of cash grabbers.
Satisfactory is really well optimized for a modern game.
It ran pretty well on my previous card, a GTX 1660 Ti OC.
optimizing it so it works good on console and steam deck is probably a good financial decision as well
Yeah it runs wildly better than it did for chunks of EA. There was a point where my dedi server cut its resource allocation down to like 30% of what it was before
I have to find a way to get the trains into the bamboo forest (a natural way)
it wasn't awful during EA or anything but they put in a lot of work making it run better
is there such thing as too much power?
yeah I'd probably make a BP for a "pillar" the track(s) can sit on top of + do some deforestation is needed
yes, when you are sick of building more then you need. If you enjoy building it then no
okay cool
time to fully rebuild my old turbo fuel factories to use diluted fuel recipes
It's resources (and compute power) that you could be using towards something else. It's not so much "too much" as that there's an opportunity cost involved
fair
Power.......
might acc get to t9 cuz conveyor thruput is choking me on a lot of areas
like aluminum
yall sorry this is kinda off topic but i was jus thinkin abt this
will the devs ever add boats?
like cargo ships?
they'd have to add new islands for that
I heard the cyberwagon can function as a boat for short period of time
Besides coastal transportation there isn't much of a use case for it, since the island is just one big island
Is that the Blue Crater? The Crater Lakes are NW of the red forest
I wouldn't mind if the space elevator changed ||to repeatedly building ships after the first one launched||, even if it's just a big time coupon flex.
They've addressed this in a dev stream and said that's not something they're planning on or looking to do
damn
What I always wanted was for the last package to suck you through a wormhole and dump you onto a brand new planet where everything costs double the resources as the last planet
Anything that amounts to a new game+ really.
Absolutely.
Back soonish, I need to go retrieve a delivery π
Does ground vegitation ever grow back?
it's not supposed to, sometimes an update will cause it to reset though
There's a mod that basically requires you to keep sending stuff to the space elevator. None of the benefits, all of the hard work: https://ficsit.app/mod/KeepFeedingToMaintainPhase
Has that happened since 1.0?
Are the steel alt recipes worth searching for over the standard ones?
how do you change dismantle mode?
Early Access sometimes had entire caverns move, that's hardly relevant anymore.
Hell yea, the petroleum coke recipe for steel ingots is a god send and the steel screws recipe makes screws enjoyable and workable
β¨Rβ©
thanks
Press R on pc
I don't remember seeing one. Not sure though
I think it was normally when they messed with stuff related to the save file
Steel screws is my favorite, 5 steel beams into 260 screws a rario of 1:52, wildly high but great
Legit means you only need 1 or 2 constructors per recipe and if you need a lot more, you have an easy access to so much
I am about to make my steel factory. Was thinking of making it all into one area Steel Pipes, Beams, Reinforced Beams, Rotors, Stators and motors.
Use the coke steel ingot recipe if you have it, means you use a refinery, but that going into a foundry, makes for one of thee most item giving choices in the game
I don't have a refinery
Damn
There are 4 pure Iron nodes, 1 pure limestone and a ton of coal near where I am building.
Fair enough
Sounds like the time for solid steel ingots then
I use 3 for 8
120/45
i have no idea what taht means
1 normal water extract extracts 120 water units/minute, 1 coal generator gobbles 45 water units per minute. Math it out
extractor makes 120 a minute coal plant uses 45 so 2.666667 is your answer
oh
also how much coal does it take per min
keep in mind a mk1 pipe has a max of 300
you can look at the machine or look at the wiki or look at satisfactory modeler, the information is out there
just put down a plant and look at it
Each coal plant consumes 45Β³m of water per minute and a water extractor can provide 120Β³m of water, you'll get 2.66 coal plants from 1 water extractor
Depends on the coal type used, petroleum coal and charcoal are the weakest so they burn the quickest but compacted coal is the strongest and burns the slowest
8 Coal Generators, 3 water extractors. If you need more then just double it and keep them seperate.
Also, just got done building 1 part of a very involved blueprint for turbo motors, looks great honestly
What tool do you all use to plan out factories?
Personally I just go with the flow but if i need to, ill use the satisfactory interactive maps production planner
The numbers? https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/
The layout? The game
there were no recipe changes
I am having really horrible luck with recipes.
that's fine, just get more drives
Why do some drives on the interactive map say they have not yet spawned in game?
Do u ever get tired of spamming fuel burners
Fuel, coal and nuke? Nah never
I absolutely did especially after building a monster rocket fuel station across multiple 600+ metre tall towers.
Go for it.
whats the best spot for a starter steel factory
R u in the grassy plains
yea
I think I'll enjoy the logistics problem that comes with nuclear much more than the "spam as much as you can" Problem of fuel burners
I wish they made better fuel burn faster in the burner instead of making it burn less
There should be a coal node on an island nearby. Check your scanner
That's where I like my first steel base
that yeah but its not near any iron node
There is?? R u sure ur in the right place
Nuclear is quite a challenge if you want to control radiation (extra challenge), my old setup was almost completely radiation free as a result, 100 reactors in the hall and no radiation bar in sight (early experimental footage follows) #satisfactory-experimental message
im looking for a iron node thats like almost directly next to coal
