I don’t want 1 track tho want duel for coming and going and path block signals it’s alot I dream bigger then my brain can handle sadly
nvm im doing pure alu ingot and the ratio isnt 1:1
or just 5 factory cart routes!
oh yeah for your throughput you need dual track
I transport a little more than 5000 Quickwire atm to my build.. it looks crazy that 8 belts on top of each other is just flying through
youll want a few trains on the line
Trust me that was a. Slowly and painful one to set up cuz I’d do like 20 mins realize something was off take hour breaks cuz I got annoyed. I also second guess myself to much. It able to think of what design I like etc n without reassurance I give up. Other thing my friend was useful for
tbh you dont need to mess with path signals, just some block signals so trains dont run into the back of each other
you can do thisss ^^
just make your track a loop
Misspoke sorry it’s 10 mk6 belts total each belt goes to 40 smelters total
only place i've ever used path signals is in intersections
yea that's what they're for
or passing spots on single tracks but why would you do that
for fun
fair enough
i've been trying to get trains going but i forgot how time-consuming getting the inital tracks put down is
I know I don’t need it but that was kinda the dream was a world where all parts had their own little factory then be transported to the next or a central hub but by myself it’s meh. I haven’t done anything in my world in like 3 weeks and I play daily
man i built my alu plant to handle 1200 bauxite per min but i dont have mk3 miners or mk6 belts yet so idk what to do
I only use block signals because they're better
need mk3 miners to get 1200 bauxite out of the nodes im using
I don't see any point using trains so far.
I only want to build a track thru the beautiful areas 🤭
so I can sit back and relax and enjoy
it's because vehicles are fun
I just use belt across the map... its fine 🙂
two separate train systems. one delivers the resources to the factory, one brings the finished products to the central storage area
do a little at a time to learn
i only have 2 trains in my world and both are just single track
one brings cable and copper sheets to my computer factory the other brings coal to my steel factory
you need a third network to put all of your radioactive waste filled trains so it doesn't back up your nuclear power
i dont think he's there yet lol
I wonder how many sink points the nuclear can make me
also just give your radioactive waste to lizard doggos and throw them off the map
but I am still trying to complete phase 4 😄
That doesn't scale well! You need an ever increasing number of trains to fill with the waste!
Always thought it's much better practice to transport materials in more basic components, especially if they reduce item counts in the basic form (i.e. transporting caterium ingots is like 25% of the item count of quick wire made with the same ingots (or 20% the item count of equivalent quickwire stacks)
1 caterium ingot converts to 5 quickwire and the stack size is 100 vs 500 so i dont think there's actually a practical difference
Yeah usually if you can transport less by converting it into another item most people will tell you to do that. But just a little more specifically, conveyors care more about item count and vehicles care more about stack count
yeah that
Every train station or truck rack has a fixed transfer rate of 2400/min, however. Caterium is the extreme and easy example, of course. The person talking about 5000 quickwire/minute can do this with one train station if they transport as ingots instead of quickwire
are the outputs on freight platforms balanced?
Yes, but they pause when loading/unloading, so you want to use containers as buffers
yea was gonna do that already
my alu plant needs 1200 bauxite/min but i dont have mk6 belts yet
Yep, 2 mark 5's will do it
Also that's the nice thing about industrial containers, they line right up with freight platform inlet/outlets
ive heard industrial containers arent balanced
Im not sure what you mean by that, but with 2 inlet belts at the same speed, they should both be balanced.
supposedly they prefer the bottom output or something
never seen it myself and actually heard this when someone corrected me
Yeah my issue is 1 it’s taken me weeks to think of a blueprint design I like 2 EVERYTHING I do I second guess is this a ok angle should have of went .1mm to the left or right on this land for this that etc I just have no reassurance on myself, which makes building a nightmare
i know this isnt very helpful advice but genuinely just build it
alr yall could use a bit of help on my alu plant here https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production?share=RQgS3aSdP2W6n7VnYsSx
for the water im sending 240 to the residual rubber and feeding 600 to half of the sloppy alumina refineries
original plan was to make diluted fuel but the math worked out a lot better doing that, and now i have 320/min HOR and no idea what to do with it
Easiest thing to do with any output->input recycling is to make dedicated machines that only take in output
yeah im doing that with my water. fresh and recycled dont mix
320 HOR, you can just turn it into diluted fuel and burn it. job done. or you can turn it into coke and roll that into your aluminum production with the alt
already using electrode scrap that's why i have hor left over
i did want to turn it into diluted fuel but with reusing the water in the alu production itself i dont have any left over
could just turn it into coke and burn the coke
just set it up to sink the remaining coke if there is any
there's some alternate coke recipes that are good and might help you, one being circuit boards
if you don't want to waste it, a tiny bit of power gen seems like the easiest solution to me
yeah
original plan was diluted fuel and the whole thing would be able to power itself
most of my stuff is in the rocky desert and im building this in the swamp so having power on-site would be pretty awesome
can also use diluted fuel to use recycled rubber/plastic recipes to boost that production up if you need it for anything. coated cables, lined sheets, other weird stuff like that but if you don't need it there and just will sink it anyway, power is probably the best option, or just sink coke
satisfactory.wiki.gg needs to do a high-gloss printed hardback manual so I can just keep it on my desk
Anyone have an interesting constraint to go by for a new run?
oh hey, if you don't want to use water, just do residual fuel. semi-wasting the HOR, but no water needed
megafactory is the classic choice. make everything in one place
Not an issue with using them as a buffer for loading/unloading. you have a single belt on the factory side of the container and 2 between the container and the station so you dump the station as fast as possible or fill the station as fast as possible
Shit, didn’t mean to @, sorry
ur good im here anyway lol
i want to use both outputs specifically because im handling 1200 bauxite with mk5 belts
Only if you have a double in and output. Using it to stabilize trains into a single belt is fine
Now for a biometric for the Mega Factory...
If you want to be safe, you can place a limiter so only 600/m can flow out of either exit
each building can only be one machine wide, so if you want 10 manufactures in a building you have to building upwards until you hit the height limit
But I wouldn’t trust the container to always split evenly on its own between the top and bottom
This….you are satan
I love it
A couple I have come up with, not necessarily the same run, though. Is it interesting or is it masochism?
- No Dimensional Depot Allowed
- Permadeath with aggressive creatures
- No Power to a building until it is structurally and architecturally finished (starting at like phase 2 or so).
- Only remove foliage where placing buildings (no harvesting for biomass allowed)
- If a sushi belt can be used for a production line (your max capacity belt can supply a sushi belt for anything using two or more solid components), then you must use a sushi belt.
- All stages of a production line must overflow to the sink if over capacity
- No overland conveyors at all (at least after unlocking trucks). All materials transported outside of buildings must be by truck, train, or drones
- All alternate recipes must be researched before progressing to the next phase of the space elevator
- No alternate recipes allowed
- No harvesting Slugs at all, not even for MAM research. You may only rely on lizard doggos for slugs and power shards until phase 5
- Every single lizzard doggo must be tamed. As soon as you encounter or see a lizzard doggo, this is now your #1 priority.
- All factories must be walkable.
- All factories must have lighting
- All factories must have no clipping whatsoever, including cables. Cables may not clip through machines or conveyors or anything.
- Anything placed must never be removed from the game (disable your disassemble button).
- Only use trucks and tractors for logistics playthrough
- Trucks and tractors require road infrastructure for their routes
- All new factories must include and/or be part of a power grid with priority switches
you get to hell and satan tells you he's inspired by your work
No dimensional depot allowed
- so how i normally play then?
Sushi belt - interesting proposal...
Overflow to sink - so how i normally play then?
Conveyor Killer - this one imma keep
No Alts - You monster.
All factories... - how i normally play
Power grid - this is tame compared to my normal playstyle
where can i report bugs ? or ise it not possible ?
Is the QA site still up?
sushi belts are great
I wonder if I've met you on reddit before... haha
If you have it's been a while...
for most factories i feed everything to one belts with smart splitters sending things off to machines
uh idk is there a dedicated site ?
i was serching for a discord server channel for bugs
but cant find it
The QA site was the dedicated place while this game was in EA, not sure if it's still up though
oh
well I'm glad I could give you at least a couple of ideas
Does this channel allow this link?
https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/
yep
Ah it does, excellent
still open
🥹
<Laughs in ReTMINWaFN Power>
Hello : D
Hello!
Do some unlocks persist between saves? I started a new save and had 3 hand slots and the stackable conveyor pole unlocked
no mods
strange ^^
It seems like a bug of some sort
because I didnt gain a 4th slot when I unlocked the chainsaw
it was just like I already had the 3rd slot from that upgrade
and I just got a +6 from a drive but my inventory is the same size
I assume I already had it somehow
No idea about the stackable conveyor pole tho
I dont even have awesomeshop unlocked yet
stackable conveyor pole is logistics mk1 or 2 i think
I know skipping the intro gives you 3 hand slots, can't remember why
could be it
most of these are what i do in a normal playthrough anyway
hey nerd hows the red forest looking now
dead
😭
i have a new target, the swamp
ok that i can agree with
im building my alu plant in the swamp now and this place is evil
there was nothing more uglier than looking up to the red forest and seeing TREES
the spiky dead trees keep tricking me thinking ive seen a spider
🤔
my only fear is a major update occuring and all the foilage respawning
it will be bad if that happens... like for real
my factories will look like a scene out of last of us
swamp is definitely worse than the red forest.... good thing I had a jetpack and cluster nobelisks...
all my belts will looks all bad.
I would need to explode trees and stuff a whole day
regular day for me
- no dimensional depots is crazy
- how do you do permadeath
- explain. Like it has to have 4 walls a roof and be decorated?
4)interesting concept - the sushi belt concept is still weird to me
- all factories walkable; you mean I gotta make a long ass path to each one?
- the priority switch one i may try on my next save myself
"i see trees are green......why are they there?"
im out 😄 have fun nerds.
i will continue my build
-
permadeath you just delete your save if you die. Any death at all.
-
building must be structurally complete, have exterior walls and a roof before turning the power on. No floating platforms. What is considered structurally complete is still up to you. You don't need to add a bunch of structural elements like joists and headers if you don't want.
-
Just saying that you must use a sushi belt for production lines that fall under the max item rate of your current unlocked belt. Just as an example but if you're using screws and need more than you can deliver with a single belt, screws get their own separate belt. Need smart splitters to do them.
-
just that you need to be able to walk up to all floors on a factory (or use the elevator). Can still use jetpack, etc.
-
priority switches are something I really have not used very much and I want to get in the habit of using them to efficiently offload grids in power shortage situations. The problem is that the switches don't unlock until late game, usually. Which you already have massive GW's of power, they become obsolete
What’s a sushi belt
priority switches arent that late game
sushi belt is more than one type of item on a belt
for example my heavy modular frame factory puts modular frames, steel pipes, concrete, and encased beam all on one belt and sends it into the inputs of the manufacturer with smart splitters
I've always used priority switches for every factory i own, even some are self sufficient islands using geothermal
I love that. The hope is to minimize belts on the factory floor and still maintain a functional and efficient design
Okay im following you now
and i guess my major power stations like my oil rig and..... CRATER OF FUEL GENS are also self sufficient islands
I'm not great at using them, but yeah, ideally you would prioritize power in your overall grid (Power Generating machines first, logistics 2nd, etc.)
load shedding is an art in itself, also priority switches are nice because you can switch them remotely without having to be at the switch itself
Just because you CAN. not that you need to
yeah, I feel like I have to do it on paper at first to learn best practices for it in the game.
admittedly i have transferrable skills airquotes due to being a power engineer so i kinda nerd out on the power side of the game
I've designed a few greenfield waste to energy power plants, but on the project management / mechanical side, not power / electrical. Just the process units.
Whassup duckers 😄
Haven't checked this in several days so I assume tons and tons and tons has taken place
i created a new state of matter
Do you guys ever start a new game with Flight Mode?
- looks like you weren't around for the early access
Interesting
For Power switches, you can get around them with normal power switches if you are clever/crazy enough to do dedicated grids
I've heard that Doggos can bring Nuclear Waste... but my 15 dogs didn't bring any in 10 hours
Or they don't do that anymore?
i think they bring uranium ore sometimes
They do, it's just a loot table though with chances.
Ah, I see, so the chances are THAT small. Thank you
Could also be that you just got that unlucky.
(I guess, Lucky in my case :D since I don't have any Nuclear Waste recycling facilities yet)
you do...just a very inhumane one
if the doggo can get it for you, they can also dispose of it.....
NO!
feels like that scene from breaking bad where jesse screams at todd for shooting the kid except the kid is a lizard doggo
wtf ( 💀 + 😂 )
Wrong emotion, let me try.
Actually debating since I'm going to move primarily to drones if I should just move my whole power plant somewhere else 🤔
Cease!
YOUR!
HERESY!
Should is an interesting word.
cant wait for friday and i actually have free time to work on the factory 💔
Is it? I'm not sure I really like where it is atm, so I was thinking of moving it out to like the dunes or something.
Any reason to tear it down instead of making a new one?
This Sunday is Groundhog Day and there is supposed to be tons of snow that could be headed in the dirrection of where I live
Kinda crazy the coincidence of these 2 events
"I CANT SEE MY SHADOW THROUGH ALL THIS POWDER!" - Groundhog
I'd make a new one before I tear this one down, for sure. More just debating if I'm going to do it at all or just stick with what I have. I may reduce the function of this one a bit if I decide to keep it since there's a lot going on here outside of power production
Words cannot describe my reaction to this msg
Can emojis describe where words fail?
Some of these (especially walkable factories) are just good practice
But no disassembling is a cool challenge.
Finally got turbo motors automated for the first time and it’s slow af but it feels good to have set up 🙂
Does anyone know where crash logs are stored on Linux? On Win11 and CachyOS for years this game has crashed on me after 10-20 minutes of play and decided to try troubleshooting it again.
Anyone know a way that I can move my base somewhere else? Because I'm regretting where I put it at the start of the game
And suggestions as to where?
build new factories as you need to - the gbame forces you to expand
Preferably somewhere that I can make each floor very big instead of tons of floors
Somewhere with what I want like the dessert is too far to go back and forth all the time for resources
so delete everythign and go there. But all the starting areas are basically the same except the northern forest which fores you to build up
where did you start?
you can set up your factories for basic parts, like building materials, at the new location
just bring an inventory full of concrete, plates, rods, wire, cables, and so on
all your basic parts
Grasslands. It's my first play through that I've started
just keep pushing through. You're in a nice long tutorial my friend.
And you can absolutely have huge flat places in the grass land easily
I can do all those with just iron because of the alternative recipes I have unlocked
just build on foundations
Not anymore unless I want to move everything
the grass lands is huge. You've build over all of it?
I do but I don't have tons of space to make really long and wide floors
post in #design-and-architecture , use photomode
because you're almost certainly totally wrong
No I've just been putting everything I make in the same tower factory so I would need to move everything to make a bigger factory
And it's already like ten floors tall
post images because I can show you where to build
Most floors are three walls high but I moved to four to fit manufacturers
ping me with the images so I can look back at discord
can anybody help me figure out why my train keeps saying next stop is un reachable. i two stations set up and just need it to go back and forth
Gimme a sec I gotta get the screenshots
already did it for you , pinged you in channel
I mean considering im on PS5 and they just released it a few months ago... yea
make sure the arrow/curve of the station is pointing at the dead end
you are a saint and a scholar, i appreciate you very much.
The current game that I am playing is my first play through as well 😄
Idrk what the current topic or conversation is but I am realizing the sheer number of hours spent just watching this little hammer and this little sound play over and over and over and over and over again and again and again
Huh...?
that really shouldn't be a thing - automate instead of doing things by hand
Still huh?
I know and I plan to do that but still working tons of different things out and whatnot
Idek what event(s) happen during Fixmus
even if it's 1 or 2 machines making the item its worth it to just have it in the background feeding a container 🙂
That is what I am trying to achieve
Power generation is still not rly there yet
what tier are you at and what location did yo ustart?
Nearly finished with Tier 3 of the HUB
Started in I think the grassylands
have you unlocked coal power?
There's a mod that changes the scheduled season for Ficsmas to be year-round
nada... check back in 10 months
Man either I'm dumb or 2+4 equals 5
I've got some maybe shocking news for you :\
one of those is much more likely and its not the one youre going to like
Yeah I miscounted the rows of fuel generators
Do you guys know how much water and coal per minute the coal generators need
I need 6 rows of 24, I only have 5, I thought I had 4, I had 3, I only added 2
Uhh, I'm pretty sure for coal it's 15 per minute, And I think waters the same, I wouldn't know for sure tho
Oh oki
water's 45/min
15 coal/min and 45 water/min
8 coal generators will take 120 coal, which is exactly a mk2 belt, and 360 water, which is exactly 3 extractors
!wikisearch CG
The Coal-Powered Generator is a power generator building that generates power by burning Coal, Compacted Coal or Petroleum Coke and Water. It is the first fully automated power source the pioneer has access to and also the first power source to use a mined resource.
One Coal-Powered Generator produces...
convenient coal layouts for beginners and experts alike
Thx
also, two water extractors at 75% per 4 generators also works
is it better to use 1 water pump for two coal generators or some overclocked pumps
1 extractor at 75% clockspeed will feed 2 coal generators
so youd underclock it not overclock it
why would you overclock them
is it more efficient
no
k
your coal generators will only consume the stated amount
when im first making my coal generators i do overclock my water extractors temporarily to fill the pipes
then take the shards out once the pipes are full
no i mean if i have more than two should i overclock the pump
the above layouts are convenient because they don't need any clocking and use exactly 1x mk2 belt of coal
add another extractor
also, extractors and pumps are two different items in the game
all that does is save space for more extractors - if you need more extractors than you have space? I guess?
but at that point it sounds like you need a better location for power. Water and coal in abundance is not hard
ik youre talking about extractors but the terminology can be confusing
no im talking about the water
overclock... the water?
you cant overclock a pump
oh wait
pumps attach to pipelines and provide headlift, meaning the push fluid up
im dumb
!wikisearch CG

One Coal-Powered Generator produces...
water EXTRACTORS create water and put it in attached pipes
convenient layouts for coal and water extractors
yeah thats mb
its confusing
extractors extract
pumps pump.
yeah i guess when i hear water i think of pump
for coal i would suggest just building pipes flat. no elevation changes
yeah i do that i was just confuseing myself
coal is your lesson in fluids and the lesson is keep it simple stupid
Chat I should I go for: cheap silica or bolted frames
neither
which will help you in your next factory?
leave it in the hard drive library so they get excluded from future rolls
Im new to the game and I just recently automated reinforced plates
then reroll to see if anything can be more directly useful to you right now 🙂
you're never locked out of recipes and they all have their uses
and the 'value' of recipes tend to be how you combo them with OTHER recipes
some alt recipes are specifically designed to work together
You're very early on though , treat the tiers like a good tutorial and just learn 🙂
Alright thank you!!
you'll neve rmiss out on recipes either - you'll always be able to get them. There's more hard drives than recipes
Oh thats amazing bc it seems like I can't find any hard drives 💀
you can use the interactive map if you cant find them
exploring is difficult early on
get the gear for it
zip lines, blade runners, jet pack, parachute, gun , ect
and look for wrecks 🙂
I don't wanna use the interactive map cause I wanna explore the map by hand lol
I might evantually but for now im taking my sweet ol' time
dont worry i haven't used it yet i just hear people talk about it
totally avoidable. I didn't start using it until I explored all the map at least a couple times
what should i be going for in the awesome shop
Anything that looks interesting to you
Catwalks are often one of my first purchases
practical thigns at first imo
wall sockets
ladders
things like that
and my mug ofc
yeah but my coffee isnt
coffe makes me hapy
hello guys, I have a question
dont ask to ask
I might have a crippling iced coffee addiction what do I do
Boys i need to know is it worth trying to make a crap load of oscillators?
figure out what you're going to use them for - then decide
idk maybe slowly start drinking less until all craving is gone?
too much coffee is horrible
I heard from goatis that any coffee is bad!
Still using this idea that I discovered
On the top of my head for phase 4 comps
Haha no no, I had heard of tools for doing calculations, but I haven't found any
ok figure out how many pm you want then
satisfactory calculator
np gangie
True but I need something to replace it with, so now I have a satisfactory addiction
google is your friend
but there's this one https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production
How many hours y'all got in Satisfactory?
satisfactory calculator has troubles with loops and can sometimes be wobbly
I have an addiction to hearts of iron 4
Isn't life always rough?
tru
wasnt mentally strong enough to keep playing because I kept overthinking about other stuff
But the factory makes life way better
too much work
life is just as much work as the factory
for some people its more in real life
It will get easier after some time, but it is always difficult
😭 True the factory is a time sink like wtf d o just something small takes like an hour
I hope life gets easier for me, rn it just seems to be getting harder and harder
one day I will return to satisfactory and build the best factory ive ever built
Gotta climb a mountain to admire the beauty at the time my man
I had found a dupe glitch to get alot of coupons
😭 but coupons
Man don't you love when you do a dumb and then realize you can double your power because your actually running at half of what you could be running at
(I could have 287 fuel generators but I'm only running 144)
is it worth mineing an impure node
Uh honestly yeah, if you have two of them and fully shard them it's pretty decent
I mean I got to basically end game with just the starter patch
whats a good way to bring something from 1 side of your factory to the other without it lookin bad
what if i dont have that unlocked yet
How many nodes (sulfur and coal) and oil?
Yeah honestly I forgot about drones and they're so good I'm using them now
Should I buy signs with my first coupons cause idk if I need the conveyors yet
Uhh, you could do a belt line that's stacked on top of each other, pretty much the best idea I got, but I'm not one for building lookful stuff
it just bad that the most efficient fuel is only unlock at tier 4 or 5 ...
Ladder
Rocket Fuel!!!!
I think its the point for it to be mid game cause phase 4 is where u need a lot of juiuce
Oh I forgot about those THANKS
wall outlets if you like walls and foundations
right, but it burn so many fuel and tank ...
Honestly I think foundations are essential
You just Can't build a Good base without em
If you aren't far enough along to know what to buy you don't have enough time in the game to build nice. You just buildin.
Ladder unlocks sooo much for exploring. Get them hard drives.
Honestly once u get there u legit will forget about till everything just short circuits
Honestly I just used conveyor belts to get to places
You haven't lived till you explore with ladders and parachutes.
I know at tier 5 we don't care! I was thinking when you just unlock drone, it's take a lots of ressources to fuel those b*****d
parachute are very fun. More height, more fun!
Oh i never touched em lol belts and trains are my friends lol
I tried train, too much to just set up and to my knowledge it has to be one single loop pretty much
train are fun to drive, but i don't like the fact that you must make a loop ... take so much space ...
i love needing 140 wire to make 50 cable a minute
Peak efficiency
Mm, yeah cable is still mildly annoying even for me
... it should be 100 to 50?
Yee but its a pain to swtup more then 2
do two lanes and it's very easy
oh wait yeah
Yeah but not being able to connect multiple tracks is annoying
Did you use a defective sloop?
... huh? what do you mean?
So like purely because I can't connect multiple tracks to one track I won't use trains
... you can.
well idk what that is but i am trying to do automated wiring rn and its making my brain bleed
But you can...
You can? So I'm able to have like an actually functioning train network?
With diverging tracks
what made you think otherwise?
Yep
Lack of knowledge and playing with the trains
Yeee lol thats how i done mine 😭 but dont do the mistake of a single line track system do 2
should avoid massive assumptions like that w/o trying anything
Huh, yeah that's uh, mhm, fair enough, might do trains then
Im saying as its annoying asf to setup 😭
Tbf tho, it is weird how you actually have it separate to me at least
I recommend you zoop foundations the whole way you want and then blueprint train towers on top like so https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1448157102966182049/1448167940225499156/image.png?ex=697cdabe&is=697b893e&hm=9b6859f2fd1b0a32f622b4583c25b3dc558d56e43fa7226397706e68c50be150&=&format=webp&quality=lossless
it helps plan things out and keep them tidy
Makes sense, probably won't do trains because my drones are working fine enough currently, might do trains for the fun of it
Ik this is stupid to ask but how to make a 2 line setup?
like in that image link I just shared.
just have the stations off to the side
Ohhhh so is 2 line setups just a railway line inside another one?
Satisfactory News (YouTube) just put out a video that might help, it was on basic factory patterns and tips. Automated wiring is tough the first time around and sweet relief on your second play thru

not sure what you mean by that
it's like a road.
people drive on one side of the road. Same with rails
i like figureing out how to play the game alone as much as i can but thanks for the tip
More power to you!
this is a basic plan for automated wiring https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production?share=YIZhRdKd9kWfXfOTKKP7
avoid videos, they are generally bad at making you actually understand what is going on
Like u have one set of traintracks then another parallel to it
yes , like 2 lane roads
nah, it's simple with a planner
here, a recipe path with 2 alt recipes https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production?share=fXL6r3inrbMsb08je4t3
Ohhhhhhhh
just belt things in , the game forces you to spread out
How do I delete markers from the map once ive placed them?
my miner is like 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000001 off from my splitter and it wont let me put the belt om
your miners are limited by your belt speed
move the splitter?
Shouldn't there be an option when hovering over it?
I don't see it
What is a realistic timeline for most people to complete the game for the first time? 100 hours? 200 hours? 50000 hours?
i had it in like the perfect spot so now i have to push everything back
150hrs if you know w hat you're doing isn't a rush? for phase 5
is there a recommended way to connect 16 smelters to a iron line? i see people doing belt > splitters cascading but the final smelter tends to run out of material for me with mk4 belts and mk2 extractors
if your belt is fast enough it'll catch up
like, maybe not 16 smelters, but i see these massive outlines on S-T and can't get them to function similarly
manifolds need 2 things
- enough parts per min
- a fast enough belt
if it's not working you have one of those things wrong
is it basically just a splitter in front of each smelter then?
yup
awesome i'll keep working on it!
do rails in blueprints just... not auto-connect to rails with a split
am i doing something wrong
you need to line them up properly. I probably would avoid trying to auto connect junctions
it is lined up
Have not experimented much with trains I just make each one it’s own track
Too complicated 😔
Resources are not at all a problem
also i managed to stack two blueprints to get a derailment on a solid track... somehow
it does not like two of the same blueprint in the same space
Does the classic "days since last incident" sign in the HUB actually work? I rarely pay attention to it but I've only ever seen it at zero
probalby didn't connect them properly. You need to leave a gap and see the holgram
yes that doesn't sound connected at all
Yea
gap or no there is no connect symbol and no hologram
It does I know because mine never leaves 0
then it's not connecting - you need to line them up and have them in auto connect mode
i know it's not connecting
My record is 3
I usually die by my own stupidity
that's not nearly enough distance to stretch a proper hologram
Ngl if power available is it worth using all drones for a large scale factory?
what?
Drones or trains?
the hologram of the auto-connect and the auto-connect symbol is there for the top rail but not the bottom one
Which is better
place the BP further away
it's showing you it's not placed properly because teh hologram is red, so , in that image, shift the BP to the left more
no distance works for the bottom rail, it just will not connect at all
i did notice that
I truly don't understand why people try to have BPs for every meter of rail they place. It takes so much longer
seems faster to me
also being able to just put down an intersection instead of connecting it all manually would be great if intersections weren't literally all two or more rails
BP?
building pillars and connecting those ain't gonna work up in the sky where there's no ground to build on
it takes 2 seconds to build a junction by hand if it's not fancy and you know how they work
what always messes me up is the distance required so the rails actually build
maybe i should make the blueprint just the floor
PHASE 1 IS COMPLETEE
nice
if you use blueprint connect, you can build the next pillar hovering in the sky and then finish the pillar down to the ground, just have to use nudge to get it to connect to the previous blue print, then nudge it all the way to where you want it
What should I automate with my 3 normal iron mines, im up to T3
Plates.
Then Reinforned plates and forth for what the conveyors take
how does one find a session ID?
I make 40 per min and that's still too many, ive got reinforced plates producing 5 per min with my current set up however I really need iron rods and im producing those at a rate of 10/min which is not enough
Then yk what to automate partially.
why does working with fluids suck so much, specifically fuel, 3 seperate playthroughs ive run into some stupid issue with fuel not doing what it should
Ugh I love this game but by yourself sometimes this game sucks
there are very simple methods to set up reliable pipes - feel free to make a post in #1038092680493801533 and I can break down what you're doing wrong. Its usually very simple
headlift is the simplest thing 😛
until headlift is the issue on a pipe going straight down 😭
make a post, pls. Pipes are simple.
put a pump on a pipe. Done.
if that doesn't fix it headlift is not your issue
ping me next time you're designing a fluid system - there's very easy basics to keep in mind to have reliable piping 🙂
hopefully next time i even mess with them is with ionized fuel or smth simple
gasses aren't better than liquids other than headlift. And that's a non issue.
I mean I have no issues with that. Pain unto those people.
😛
idk, sounds like its just "let the pipe fill up before turning anything on"
I live, Slept for 9 hours after sugery. I can play more satisfactory 2morow
you often still need to loop manifolds. Just pre flooding systems doesn't fix everything
Would yall use conveyors or tractors to transport things that are 200 meters away?
nope CyberBeefalo
i =would use conveyor
But why, trucks can go on a dirt road and use less space
twain
i did not know elite gas stingers made sounds like that
you said what
belts. especially early on
elite gas stingers??
mostly fuel logistics. I often dont have a fuel source ready to go for trucks
yes
i did not see one behind me as i went out of hoverpack range trying to reach another power tower
trucks are another thing to learn and for some people not the easiest
and there's lots of learn already
so it's up to you really
whyd i have to keep the arachnaphobia cheat off 😭
So what if you’ve got T1 and T2 complete and T3-T4 unlocked and working on completing
I cant drive which is part of it lol.\
probably belts. It's fast and easy and imo you should learn to focus on properly laying out belts and pipes and machines
i see the aggro notification, try to fly away from something i assume is in front of me, hear an indescribable terrifying sound behind me, and turn around to see something giant and green falling from who knows where about 10 meters in front of me
Do not put this bro on the roads 😭 🙏
with trucks it's not just learning to do the pathing, but you really need to plan your factories in locations that are GOOD for trucks too - extra level of planning
I whole heart agree
but you can very quickly stretch a belt 200m and not have to think about it
i'm honestly not sure how to describe the sound without listening to it again because i was to panicked to pay attention and i am not doing that again
I’m just wondering what I should do cause i’ve got a small factory at 3 normal iron nodes but I need to expand and there are like 5 impure iron nodes 200 meters away sooo i’m wondering what logistic transportation to use.
i hate this game sometimes
do you know what they look like
belts 🙂 just focus on the factories for now 😉
well lets game it out
Trucks need biofuel or coal early game. can you set that up? Coal is a hands off resource where Biomasas youll need to feed manually
no, and i dont want to 😭
do you know what an alpha stinger looks like
about half the size of the explorer, yeah?
I would need to find a good coal place but yuh probably, I’ve almost reached the node for all the coal power plant stuff
-# I just need more rotors.. damn you screws
take that, make it green, double its size (at least it feels that big, it probably isn't that big), make it love leaping every chance it can, and make it capable of emitting poison gas, and you have an elite gas stinger
and do you want to put that effort in (and loose that coal) if so TRUCKSS GOOOOO
Conveyors it is I guess 😭
there is also the option of just building where the ore is and not transporting it
your not wrong, I just want to make sure ppl dont get stuck in a mindset, I do sometimes
I meannn maybe but also factory lines are cool
whatever bring you joy ^_^
i found a hole in the parts available in the game
one that really seems like it should be in the game, not just modded in
45 degree railings for the down foundations
ew no
i want PHAT expansion pacts worthy of the base game
oh definitely
like from days of old Like Broodwar
i'm sick of expansions being a mild enlargement of the game. i want an expansion to be like half the size of the original game
thats what im sayin. Ill pay $50 for that
eh
if it's half the size of the original game, then i'd pay half the price of the original game 🤣
assholes absolutley, But things are dogshit, Games come out broken messes that never get fixed
Anyone good with trains? I could use some advice
Couldn’t find my problem on YouTube, but I’ll keep looking
have you searched the #1038092680493801533 ? you can make a post there too. many ppl monitor it that want to help
ngl i don't necessarily mind bugs in games so long as they're funny and not detrimental
I hear that, But i have a High end pc and Monster hunter wilds struggles.
prototype 2 pissed me off the most. I got halfway through and i beat the mission i was on and the next one just refused to unlock. The only way to fix it was to format my ps4
would be neat to grab the IP from an old dead engine for cheap and resurrect it
Satisfactory works on my potato laptop i bow to the job theyve done
settings maxxed out and it only sucks down 10gb vram, it's impressive
well, stock settings
its the only game I've turned on Luiman for
oh i have a high end desktop. I use the potato laptop at work during the slow season, I go weeks with nothing to do so i just tv and play games
like you i upgraded my rig at the start of covid to a beast
WELL.... the rx 6900xt just released and no one had stock do to the cryto boom. I decided to upgrade my CPU to a 5900x and get a highend board with wifi becuase i didnt know what my network cabling would bne like.
when i showed up at to pickup my upgrades the guy infront of me ion line was freaking out because his Visa was declined. Turns out he order a rx 6900xt. so i bought that too
then for my birthday a friend got me a 64gb ddr4 kit 3200. bringing my ram up to 128
I went 5800x and rx 6950xt both at the respective launch times. Now putting that pairing back together as my server/ backup pc. It’s a fantastic card still
I’m dumb with money not made of it lmfao. Lumen is pretty awesome
i dont hy ave much but im trying to spend it wisely. Got Lazik today and i should have 20/15 vision now... once healed
but that was 4k
I could be one if I start drinking lol
Hoping for a speedy recovery
I would be if it didnt f up my meds lol
I should be good for most things in the morning.
Most important back to the factory
Anyone know how to get train rails to be more even/in line with each other? Like are you folks using the world grid?
Placing on foundations/beams and stuff helps
building some blueprints with the rails on foundations helps. This is ofton brtought up in #design-and-architecture
Ok thanks I’ll check there
Getting back into the game after about a year. Was the object scanner changed to not allow for finding crashed ships?
That sounds like a slippery legal slope. I’d ask first to make sure it’s all good
That's strange. I was able to scan for it before but I can't anymore, and I also can't see the research task in the mam
were they bought or something?
You talking about the hard drives?
I mean finding the dropped ships
Its in the Quartx Research tree. Second to last node
O:
If we're talking about the same thing. Crashed ships = hard drives
Did they change that in some update? I remember scanning for it before
Idk i got them game when it released on console. Idk how it was on PC in early release
Using object scanner maybe
he is using object scanner man
The object scanner is a great way to find CRashes and other things. But you must unlock the options Many are found in the MAM. Some are found by progressing through the tiers
I've been on since u3 and I don't remember problems with scanners xD
Ive been on since u4 I think? Or u3. Cant remember
wasn't it ? Hmm don't remember having a problem with that. :\
Anyone else remember the placeable beacons?
bro i hate that they removed beacons
It's been a week and ive sunk 20 hours into satisfactory am I cooked
Only 20? Rookie numbers
thats a few bowls and a day off for me
is 2k hours too many on one file
drink water stretch speak to love ones.
lord
im a rookie still. im at 1000 total over 10 saves seven of which have had credits roll
really taking my time with this one
I have like 3 saves with like 400 hours each I think and none have completed the game
I finally hit 604 hours total.
you can usually roll back to old version through steam
not usually, steam only has experimental and default.
maybe i just play games with wide options lol
Holy offtopic batman.
we do drift in and out. lol
how fairs your factory?
Pipes need filling
they always do. oil related?
other than a handful of survival games I would like to know what other games are supporting past versions, version control is a nightmare
ill try to remember tomorrow. to go through some picks in my library.
factorio is one where i almost never update just incase it breaks a save, you have to opt into betas and choose your version
Off hand i know that 7 days to die does
many games don't do that though
other than a handful of survival games
apperently Factorio lol
you tell me. are you hands just built diffrent?>
maybe i just play a lot of survival games lol.
I use controllers in the Claw hammer grip
left hand normal right hand pinky and ring for triggers thumb index middle for face buttons and stick
I blame soul gaemse and street fighter
I just bought and sold one of those. Used for $5 sold for $15. I hated it
im a simple man two top buttons and wheel two side buttons
guys what is the max theoretical power outputyou can manage if you utilized every single ore and item on the planet as 100% effeciently asd possible?
if anyone has even done that
np i havent watched it yet
sweet i wonder ill let u know how it is 🙂
sick vid unless im missing something, he never talked about rocket fuel or ionized fuel, except compared to the nuclear i guess it didnt matter much
you are either going Rocket or Nuclear not both
ahh i assume nuclear was the option i guess for max
Likely
it'd be both
nuclear doesn't use much sulfur oil or gas, which means max nuclear leaves a lot for rocket fuel
good to know
If you made the theoretical max power would you even have resources left to make anything with it
would be interesting to incorporate other people falling to their deaths into your game, where it'd be a drop ship with some random stuff
like, having it land where they went splat
thats fine.
as long as there's no survivors
oh 100%
maybe have a body or something flopping around on impact
idk, CSS is known for funny dumb shit
jump into the power augmentor
shot out of a dimensional container like a hypertube cannon 🤣
i like my legolas in a party hat
it's from a Hobbit outtake
he had way too much fun working on those movies
i'd love to know what his residuals are, landing on both LotR & Pirates franchises at the same time
yup
oh yea, Downey's pulling $50m just for showing up now
oooooooooh Orlando apparently auditioned for Faramir first, then landed on Legolas. that would have been a very different feel
oh this made me feel old
Orlando's 48 now
with how much money some of these actors are making now, they could outright buy a small studio like CSS if their kid liked one of the games enough and just have them make whatever they want 🤣
it's been 60 years since the first season of the original Star Trek
shatner's gonna be 95 in March
ngl i liked both DS9 & B5
Tng is great
hook it up to power see if anything chnages
Hey
How can I make containers without plastic
Empty canisters
@coral marsh do you know
steel in a constructor and the copper one in an assembler
plastic one also constructor
check out the wiki for more info? it's all there
i already answered
sure the wiki is always available, but it's not everyone's most immediate thought, that thought is to ask a person first, so i don't understand why everyone always references the wiki as a first option instead of just answering themselves. mention the wiki second, not first.
is it ineffecent to make motors entirely out of iron
i don't think so, i'm making motors out of iron and i have pretty much enough of them
define 'efficient'?
if you're talking about using steel pipe ect it uses a huge amount of iron rather than actually using a bit of steel for the other recipes
if you have zero need for that iron? yeah whatever.
however, iron+coal is basically the most common combo on the map, it's very easy to use a bit of steel
which saves you tons of resources for other things
like would it be better to just use other resources too because id like to just use mostly iron
define 'better'
if you literally can't think of making anything else with iron near there? yeah do whatever. But there is coal all over the place which would give you TONS more options
and you'll need to make steel anyway for lots of things
there is no single 'best' path to make things because who knows what other items you'll want ot make with other recipes and where you are
well im at the dunes with the orange desert i forgot what its called but is on the far right side of the map, i have iron in massive quantitys and im not using all of it
up to you - but again - you might as well make steel because you can't get around making it at this stage at all
Steep pipe just chews through iron. And this is coming from someone who things iron should be used like trash material
I was exploring and found this place that is like a jungle full of green mist and it had giant radioactive hogs and giant spiders that chased me out of there. What God-forsaken hellhole did I just stumble upon?
Because sometimes pointing out how to get one info can be seen as more useful than providing the info itself.
Eg: if someone asks how to open the Codex and you told them the button is shown in the toolbar at the bottom right of the screen, not only you're avoiding possible ambiguities about button layout (PC Vs Console), but you're also teaching them where they should expect to find similar info thus avoiding similarly obvious questions in the future ^^ (eg: how to open the map, what's the dismantle tool button, how to flashlight...)
So, yeah, taking the habit of checking the wiki instead of treating people like a search engine is sometimes seen as a positive thing (ofc, the way and tone one uses when doing so can change things greatly... As with everything 🤷♂️)
People can still tell them first and then secondarily say "you can also defer to the wiki, here's a link"
That's what I was talking about in my last paragraph, as there's many ways to say the same thing. One can be tactful or rude, that's their choice 🤷♂️
I wasn't commenting on the tone or how appropriate it was, just why it can be worth pointing out the source of info rather than just the info
Having a fun issue with nitrogen now. I think the piping might be too long but its not filling the pipe or the machines soooo thats fun
Im starting to think my pipes might be bugged
I'm seeing the issue in my water pipes now which were fine for days until just a second
To teach them where they can get info so that they do not need to ask next time
what if there 2 trains, 1 going to make turn on the main track and other driving on main track but not close enough to block signal, will they collide or block signal will still work?
Signals always work
I need someone opinon which is better to setup the insulted crystal oscillator or tue nornal recipe
What's "better" for you, here? Least machines? Least input resources?
Honestly thats why im asking as om like unsure myself
Pretty much the same as single-direction rails, but with signals on both sides of the track (imagine taking 2 one-way rails and squishing them into one, that's about it...)
Cause im not 100% for how much imma make for supercomputers and ruc
Technically, the Alt recipe is a little bit more efficient overall (using less items) and also outputs at twice the speed (1.875/min VS 1/min), but the 2 recipes differ quit a bit in what kind of items they need: one needs Cable and RIPs (iron-heavy), where the other wants rubber and AI Limiters (oil-heavy)...
Alr now I got an idea on what to do thxxx
Alright thanks, now i need to understand how to signal😔
Then our opinion is as good as flip of a coin
Make a small-scale testing track (or just build out a small piece of your planned railway) that you can play with without needing to invest hours into building before realizing you assumed something wrong xD
i'll try
i hope you're ready to earn your PhD in Train Logistics
Already have one, tried signals before, ended up rebuilding my whole train logistics bc this thing ruined everything
cheers, satisfacterers. glad i can play the game to use my computer as an auxiliary heater 😂 better than roasting alive in summer
Does anyone know how I can get the purple power slug in the north of the Rocky Desert? I can get in the cave, but I think you have to go a little further, but I can't go through the hole for some reason.
have you tried dynamite?
Yes
there's dynamite??? 😮
no, there's ||nobelisk||
There is even more funny stuff with bigger BOOM
Giggity
We got nukes, we got knives, sharp sticks.
Eh, the nukes are very underwhelming
Costs so much to make (and to even unlock) and theyre a standard MOAB by comparison to even the smallest irl ICBM's
morning everyone
Hows it going?
im 60 hours into the game and loving it so much and I thought Factorio was good.
Factorio is good, even better imo
Boo this man
- looks better
- has no base defense
- can build up
Agreed. I enjoy factorio but i love this game better
fr i'm not usually a technical person but i enjoy how satisfactory pushes me into something new. the peak aesthetics, pog UI, and dope lore really make this one of the best building games out there. the amount of automation and everything going on at once is intense and i already need a better computer
And you can play satisfactory on console unlike factario
I was going to ask, is it cross platform sync?
you can play factorio on switch
I thought I was close to finish my 112,5 per min supercomputer build last night.. like 4 hours or something tops.
now 7 hours later, still working on the chaos and connecting the last things.
Does anyone know any good location in Rocky desert biom for starting out
any location that has iron, copper and limestone (practically the whole map) is fine for starting out
by the big waterfall 🙂
I like that location
I did find an area with 6 normal iron ores nearby and two copper ores but limestone is a bit far and the terrain is uneven
you're not gonna be in a single location anyway, so it doesn't matter much
Completed phase 3 for the second time! 🎉
This is the point where the game goes from "fun" to "work" though, I've never made aluminium. Any advice to maintain motivation?
do small projects
illegal substances 😂
reuse the waste water
have some solution refineries run off fresh
have some solution refineries run off waste
I'm a software engineer and I'm used to big projects, some taking years but I get to this point in the game and I'm like "I'm not getting paid for this..." 🙂
Thank you for the suggestions, I'll keep chipping away. I've yet got build some full lines for the intermediate stuf
@full tulip step one, setup up JIRA to track all the issues you discover and then assign yourself to fix it, and then manage a release schedule to track your milestones.
The sad thing is, that isn't a bad idea!
if it's starting to feel like work try https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production
excellent planner. Keep notes and links to plans in a spread sheet.
realistically the milestones can be considered a tutorial for your own projects post phase 5
I use it quite a bit 🙂
Hello
@full tulip step two, set up confluence to document issues you encounter so that future you can learn from past you.
How do I tackle the ticket that says "life is too short for this sh*t"?
put it off to a later release, its a feature not a bug
I play on ps5 tho and its not on there
well PC master race anyway 😛
Get alt receips asap
and I said on switch, which is a console 😉
@full tulip with asap i meam before you even setup the aluminium factory. The alt receips make stuff way easier. And i would just use the water byproduct to make wet concrede instead bringin it back into the system
recycling the water is much easier than making a byproduct thing
I've been working my way through hard drives and unlocked wet concrete last night. I'll continue my way as I have a few small lines on parts I've not automated yet
Yeah, if fluids behaved, that'd be an option 🙂 1.2 release... 🤞
also my recommendation would be to play the game on your own instead of asking us for tips, you learn more by trying
fluids behave just fine for this
I'm clocking 250+ hours or so, I definitely need other opinions 🙂
my recommendation applies no matter how many hours you have. If you just blindly follow what other people say, are you even playing the game? Satisfactory is great because you can play it in any way you want and not be locked to "meta" that other people may think about
WHAT
This literally describes EVERYTHING in life. Every. Thing. You can fumble around in the dark or get some tips from thousand hour players that is how he wants to run it lol and youre telling him not to while saying do it how you want. My brain is so broken.
I...am not sure how you came to the conclusion that I'm blindly doing anything. I'm starting phase 4, a phase I've struggled to maintain motivation with, and am looking for general advice or tips. Not with the intent to follow them to the letter but with an aim to get myself out of a funk.
the problem is that the game expects you to learn things to apply them in later phases
so if you don't learn them and instead just copy from some tutorial, you'll be stuck and need help all the time
was in relation to you immediately jumping on the "wet concrete" suggestion 🤷 but the advice was more generic one
Hey, are there discussion about a second map?
Would pay for an dlc 😄
they have practically confirmed that next map wouldn't be a thing
first map took 6-8 years of development.
I'm generally in agreement with this principle, in life as on the game. There are some though who struggle and there's nothing inherently wrong with following a tutorial. As in to tutor. To teach. It's a form of learning too
Damn, but thanks @reef basin @leaden turret
well, as I mentioned, it's my recommendation. Whether you (or others) follow it or not is up to them
(and part of that recommendation is to come here and ask if you have specific issue and have tried things you could think of to resolve that issue)
f.e.:
"help, how do I build coal power plant" is (imo) pretty bad, as the person just seems to want direct guidance without having to think and learn
"help, my coal power plant is not producing as much as it can, here's screenshots and description of the problem, I have tried to do X, but it didn't work" on the other hand is a pretty healthy approach to the game, you describe problem and are looking for a solution to a concrete problem while having tried things already
fluids behave just fine if you follow some basic principals
I kid you not, I had to reload my game to get a single pipe of oil filled two days ago 🙂
use basic clocking and reuse the water - zero need to sink anything
some times a connection is janky, but that happens with belts and other things too
And for what it's worth, while yes recycling the water is a "better"/more efficient option, if you don't want to deal with it and just want to turn it into wet concrete to sink, that's fine. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
the simplest clocking methods
I'm a "get it working, it doesn't have to be pretty" guy with these games
I think people have trauma over trying to mix the fluids and somehow can't approach any reliable method
just don't mix them.
I agree, this is the way I deal with it as well. But if someone would rather turn it into wet concrete and sink it that's fine
yeah, but I wouldn't recommend it as a go-to solution
you generally don't have limestone nearby, it's more piping more resources used and more work
I promise you that people playing the game sub-optimally and differently to how you do won't impact your life in any way. Yes, managing clock speeds and recycling the water is generally better, doing something else with it is 100% fine.
of course they are, I build in circles
But I would give a person suggesting you use Trains to move items 100m as doing wet concrete the same look
same as I wouldn't tell people to build in circles
I definitely wouldn't present wet concrete as the best way of managing the process 🤣
But if it's the difference between getting it done and not getting it done, I think it's fine
"Wet concrete" in this case is also just a stand-in for any recipe that uses X + Water
Ah rip the gif won't load in this channel
Mods are oppressing my creative expression 😔
amen to that
By microslop.
Here is a circle:
The best way to could it is the most fun way to build it.
The most fun way to build it is the best way to build it.
Just go build it… and if it doesn’t work like you like, mess with it until it does.
Never
You wouldn't generate a car
Cat intelligence is a special brand. Not artificial at all.
I might generate a car… if it worked.
but its ai
it wont
HE HAS RAM GET HIM
Mooooo
you can if you want but in my opinion ai is complete ass and no one should use it because we will all forget how to do things for ourselves because smth else can for us
but if that thing we rely on were to say
d i s s a p e a r
then everything would go to shit
I am a generated car
"hey there its josh im inside your walls-"
i should record a video thats just 1 hour of alien power augmentor ambient noises
alien power boosta go brrr

Leave my hoo hoo out of this.
I’m generating a cat. Or maybe a car. I can’t remember if there was a typo in the LLM model
I think he is secretly using AI to add the diluted doggo milk alt recipe to the game.
the ability to put signs on machines is so good i swear, i've gotten into the habit of using them to label my machines with what they produce
Yeah signs on machines and colour-coding pipes were both game changers for me. It made the bigger builds a lot easier to understand and diagnose issues.
I did this recently and it's scary how much time I simply spent looking for things. It's oddly made my factory feel smaller...
can you crossplay satisfactory with someone who is on playstation? (im on EGS)
ahh okay, thanks!
im allergic to cats
i dont have any
is it a ragdoll cat you have ? @unborn gyro 😊
Not to mention PC is able to handle builds that consoles just can't, so the PC client would need significant restrictions put on it to make sure they don't inadvertently crash the console player's game
I play on PC but I'm ngl we're rapidly approaching the point where console is far better value given the price of RAM, CPUs and PSUs is skyrocketing and shows no signs of stopping 😭
ah okay so HMFs are not a one to one ratio of HMF to modular frame like fused modular frames
I loved the "accessibility option" that AI will play the game for you if you are stuck.
Anything to get AI investors in lols. I mean, even the VPN I got now has AI... bro you are a vpn company...
Bruh, I still can't join my friend
We had issues back when Epic was having issues
And we took a break and now we still are
Factory carts are AI but they don't even need the marketing hype we all know they're amazing
Has that been a option before O.o ? or do I not understand what you actually mean 😄
it was in one of the investor talks for playstation etc, where AI will play the game for you where there are parts you cant get through.
-# if factory carts are al, which vehicle is ziggy & sam?
at least thats the "idea", the "plan", the "give me investor money" thingy.
basically future plan
I think that will be the downfall 😄
we should throw that guy into the hole over the void in the middle of the map
Imagine telling AI to make a 60/min BWD factory for you "because it is hard"
its not one guy, its the whole circus.
Imagine buying a game and wasting it by having ai play it for you lol
I work like 8-10 hours each hours a day on my new build (for a week now).
I would somehow be mad if someone could just get trough it all, just clicking "ai on" to do it all. 🥹
right ! ^^
I think the "purpose" is for people who got disability to get through certain parts of the game. But the "actual purpose" is just getting more AI investor money and not guarantee them success and keep the bubble going. "Using someone else's money" is a strategy good enough to go for.
I mean, lets not put billions on fixing disabilities and instead put billions on AI.
modders will use it like wild animals 🤭
at what point should you like, rebuild stuff to increase efficiency?
when you think you are ready.
okay well
never
build new, keep old
meeee meeee its me its what i do
I love my historical district!!
(also, you should build stuff at 100% efficiency from start)
Accessibility is worth thinking about with software but that whole AI idea just feels like a pipeline to way more bots/cheating/etc even with that already being a problem
The main purpose is still "get AI money" and "incompetent gamedevs not needing to properly balance a game not kill the studio" etc.
I am 95% done with my 112,5 per min. supercomputer build.
Only thing I need is to transfer all plastic now and I am finally done with it, after a week of work. 🥹
Yeah capitalism is why I assume it wouldn't stay "just for accessibility issues" with investors involved
I feel like shoving LLM's into every facete of life is no a good use of resources in general. muich waste
but you could make it 113.0 per min. I mean. Hell, even 120/min to saturate a belt.
Everyone knows ALL belts should be saturated, yes.
are there traffic lights for tractors/trucks in the game?
Nope. 1.2 will get some pathing retouched but otherwise they try their best giving each other space. Thats all you got .
oh they do that automatically?? ahh thats all i was worried about, thanks!
I got some really ultra hell junctions that trucks still work but ultra rarely they get stuck while trying to give way to each other.
no you gotta figure out all the logistics and plan so they do not collide
yeah, just don't ultra die on it and expect all will work.
no, but if they bump into each other, they roccret themselves
haha 0.5 a min make huge difference. 🤭
thanks yall!
then the math will not add up 🤭
as I have done all math backwards from a total amount I wanted to make, to make this build possible in one place ❤️
all made in notepad 🔥 🤣
I remember some youtuber mentioning a Eyedropper function but i couyld never find it so i assumed it was a mod and moved on
the plastic math is getting out of hand... I feel cooked rn, how to split it all even
cant you just manifold it ?\
I can do it easy with a little cheat, but that's not what I want to do.
Bruh, the online part of this game is so fucking fragile
Literally me and a friend were fine at one point, then ever since Epic had that major outage that affected Online Services, we can no longer play together
can the folks in #dedicated-servers help at all>?
<@&370483737957236737> how's the annual game jam going? everyone remembering to document their sources ?
Not sure, cause the issue is in regards to the EOS not working
they still have much experience try worst case they cant
a lot of us play solo and have that channel completely muted
no, I because I have 8 outputs with 480 plastic, but I have taken 4 of them already to something else, but they do stack up tho.
I need 1575 Plastic for 10 Manufactures inputs which is = 30 in total.
spread sheetS?
wait I think I get it now... I just get so confused right now as everything is so out of hand 😄
I do still have enough to split it. - I just started to mistrust myself and my math.
I think i'm good. we will see 🥲
sorry you people havent heard from me in while, i had to delte discord off of my phone and do some other things.
anyways i need some help with something from expiernced players..
Believe in the MAth and yourself
Believe in me that believes in you
I CAN DO THIIIIIIIS 😄 🙌 🤭
I posted it
so theres a pure SAM node i found using the ineractive map website, its ontop of a very tall rocky spire to the east of the little ater resivor and waterfall cave near grassy fields, i managed to use concrete ramps and build up to and set up a mk1 miner with power, and i did all of this only to realizethat i did all the belts in mk1, instead of mk2, so i was going to redo it all in mk2 belts, bet i wanted to do lifts instead. i dont have jetpack or hoverpack, but i need to lower the ore down over 151 meters, and also i would have to redo power if i want and deleted my covyer ramps. i set this up to get the sam for dimensionl depots, but should i scrap this farm and instead go for the node in the poisoon gas cave underneath the stone arch in grassy fields, or should i go for the node in the crater biome?
i have 50 snowballs and 10 medical inhales to fight the larg stinger in the gas cave, but i would need to make a gas mask and filters.
i was wondering how you can increase pressure in the water pipes to deliver more water from a longg distance source.... I've got pumps fore going up the hills etcv etc
You don’t need a lot of SAM at this stage, so do whatever is easy. 60 SAM ore per min is enough
Water tank at height
i just need dimensional depots to get ri of the running bacl and forth for resources
#screenshots message @ornate saffron so far so good ❤️
nobody replied(
I try hard 🤭 but I am so cooked right now hehe
You can also use ziplines to get up to the top of the mountain, probably the best early game traversal tool after blade runners
game doesn't really do pressure
pumps give you headlift (aka "how high can the fluid go before needing another pump")
generally the recommendation is to not move fluids far
Life changing. If you're past biofuel, leave your factory and hunt mercer spheres. I cannot stress enough how much you need this for your own sanity
interesting, my water source is over 600 away, so it sounds like i need to move the power there and run the coal to it rather than the other way around
oh yeah, for coal power definitely just build near water and ship coal with a belt
It will work better that way for sure
and put the coal generators near the water I assume?
Thanks
When possible
eating snacks right now, trying to calm myself haha and then do the last hours of work with the build. ^^
Okay, I think im gonna have too. I thought i'd fixed my min power cuts with upgraded belts, but
Holy
nope, the water isn't getting there or atleast not enbough of it
No she meant the phrase, holy moly
And went for Tolkien?
It was a good episode tbh even if Stan became temporarily emo
Haha no I havent
I've played the games though
Descendant of a Tolk
did you hear the siren of discord police ? if yes lets run to off topic 🤭

siren of a mermaid 🫣
Im hoping I can play this afternoon. Ill know soon. Waiting for them to check my laser eyes
