That to, there is alot factorio does very well, overall imo better than satisfactory, but in this games defense its a 3d which is overall harder to get right in some areas compared to a 2d game, which is always going to be overall less system intense

in that aspect I would give satisfactory a equal grade with optimization compared to factorio, because it wouldnt be fair to say its worse when one is a 2d game and the other is a 3d game

This doesn't help when you have a hard drive backlog, of course, but one thing many folks don't realize: When you find hard drives out in the field, you can construct a new MAM, start researching, then deconstruct the MAM. It'll keep researching and you'll get a notification when it's done (at which point you can build a new one to redeem, plus potentially start more drive research)

Cables need 60 wires per minute, wire constructors give 45 a minute, make 2 constructors, 1 connected directly to the constructor, other one being split into 1/3 by occupying 2 inputs that feed into a storage(for later use)and then you have perfectly enough wires for cables

there is no benefit to the giant line.
and also: even if mk 2 might look better in some cases, it is not wise to use mk 2 in places where mk 1 is enough

pipes arent like belts, so the higher velocity limit of mk 2 can mess things up if used without considering if you NEED the higher flow rate

With pipes, its usually better to keep networks small and simple

a big chain counts as a big network and so itst really ideal

if possible, its usually always better to check if you can split a big network into smaller, simpler ones

if it needs a slight adjustments of machines, thats also preferable compared to a big pipe network

If something goes wrong and you have to fix it, which would you rather troubleshoot:

1. 1 - 2 smaller pipe networks, independantly
2. a single big interconnected network
