Also I hate dealing with a lot of pipes so I want to cut down on them as much as possible

Making cool looking exteriors is not that hard if you already playing building games.

But making the inside beautiful? That is a real challenge.

Even when I hide most of the conveyors in logistics floors I am so far from having a really pleasing interior, is is even worse if I made curves or exotic shapes on the outside.

When you start placing buildings, leave a 2 foundation gap from the edge

On paper cloudy diamonds sounds a bit better due to how common is the limestone.

To be honest my question is not really about which recipe should I pick for the hard drive, what I want to know is what kind of factory should I build for my diamonds.

Pink diamonds are a bit harder but on the other hand they also have a higher yield per coal consumed so maybe I should take it into account.

Honestly it's usually fine, but there's just some edge cases which can end up biting people, which is why we tend to recommend avoiding it

Generally the edge cases involve snapping junctions really close to pipe seams; if you're only ever snapping them to the "middle" of reasonably-sized pipes, you're unlikey to have problems with it, IME

That seems like it would be a problem for the same reason putting splitters or mergers too closely would be; you can't reach the belt/pipe in between them.
