the game only went to full release so recently and it had been in earely access for years. I think it's logical that mods are an afterthought when the game is still substantially in development.
thats not the case at all, in my experience, most mods had a couple hour to day lag behind 1.1 release, since 1.1 was in experimental so long
i can't think of any games that don't need to wait a few days after updates for mods to be updated

It's not that bad one of my other favorite games, no man's sky, literally has no update plan the devs put an emoji on x that's relevant to the update and within a week they just drop it, and then there's a billion bugs and no one plays for a week while the patches come out it's chaos every few months and very fun

Base ammo two shots common mobs, takes a while on alphas. Shatter rebar is quite possibly OP, one shots common mobs at point blank, two shots most alpha spitters point blank, four shots alpha hogs on a good day. Stun rebard stunlocks anything but takes forever to kill.

it's better than bopping things with the baton as you can evade damage with the rebar gun by staying at range

Eh, I agree that mk5s feel cheaper + faster to make, but IMO mk4s are far from bad, and as mentioned, rushing to mk5s would mean opening up another elevator tier, and that's a nontrivial amount of work

The difference in effort-to-produce between mk4->mk5 isn't nearly as steep as from mk2->mk3, IMO
Also, whenever im tryna make smth like smart plates, should i leech of previous factories or start from new
(Though I'm also a bit of a mk2 defender; once you're used to building at scale, even mk2s aren't bad. Just need a bigger factory than you might think you need)

I tend to use all belt types these days, the slowest needed for a particular job, that way the conveyors don't look empty due to a crazy fast belt being too fast for what I'm moving, mk4's aren't bad at all, but are among my more common ones 😄
I do agree that the jump from mk2 and mk3 is kinda nuts compared to mk4 to mk5
I was always out of steel beams for other stuff never had enough for mk3s unless I went afk
Yeah, it's nice to tune the belt to the application. Though I mostly don't bother; too much work to switch belt types while building. I tend to just use whatever I've got that's fastest. :D
My main exception tends to be FICSMAS factories so I can enjoy all the various belt skins. :P
I GUESS I should move to tier 2 its not like smart plating is expensive and I have way more rotors than I need to get there.(This concrete production is taking too long for my needs I gotta expand)
part of the reason that the mk2 to mk3 transition feels so big is also because there are so many building demands for reinforced iron plates whereas there aren't nearly as many for steel beams.

sink the highest tier stuff you make.. the better the stuff, the more coupons its worth
by the time i had hmf's automated, i was making ~1m points per minute
Fun fact, if you go to one of the highest tier crash sites and manage to pilfer a set of turbo engines in the early game, before you sink anything, like 9 of them will give you 50+ coupons

For example, I want to make a huge smelting factory, but how do I gather all of those iron nodes and bring them to it?

for example, if your power storage has 10GW of backup and your factory consumes 5GW, it will last 2hrs

I decided to use my spare plants and such to create biofuel for my jetbacks and as a backup power grid
fuel gen always consumes fuel every sec to produce power, they are not like biomass burners where they only produce certain amount of power to meet consumption

fuel gens are very worth it imo, the byproducts can be turned to coke and sinked or used for various alternates
if you try to use coal until the next big power leap, its gonna suck
you should also get used to byproducts and working around them

be careful you're not conflating with issues like the games memory leak when you build things (that can cut performance in half after 15 mins to 5 hours of continuous play if you don't restart it)

Hey guys, im having a slight issue with some train things if someone would be able to assist me with. I have 2 rail lines side by side as a main rail that links everything. My Silica Train keeps taking the right lane when I want it to take the left track there is nothing wrong with the left track however if my silica train take the right track it jams itself right into all the other trains. Anybody know a trick where I can keep my first silica train on one track?
if you have 100 fps to lose, you must be on decent atleast hardware, do you even notice the frame drop if you dont have a counter on?
there shouldnt even be a way to enter that track going the other direction

the Silica station is a bi directional station, I have block signals that don't allow more then 1 train to enter
i dont see how that affects anything unless your silica train is a bidirectional train as well
golly, i made a whole joke about bidirectional trains but it sounded way too sexual so i had to delete it

Well guys I think its over. I have some bad news I thought the crashes for frame gen were fixed but I just encountered my first residency, the same I saw in 1.0 but slightly different
I'll do more testing but I think I'l going back to raising up that long term issue on the qa site again if this is what I think it is

it sounds like its possible for trains to enter the rail from the wrong direction
satisfactory trains always take the shortest route, theyre not intelligent
so you want to make sure you can only enter monodirectional rails from one direction
otherwise they'll stop being monodirectional

yeah, they only stop burning fuel when you disconnect their power cable AND aren't near them wearing the hoverpack (that's confused me a few times 😄 )

...but 360 steel doesn't fit a mk3 belt, so technically I made a steel factory with mk1 belts that needed to be made with mk4 belts x)

You know as much as I do, best I can tell is the rendering engine is fucking up hard again for some reason and how do I know this, because its trying to dereference nullptry residency handles and the game can only crash because that shouldnt happen, this only tells me the game is fundementally broken at its core in some way....

I never had crashes except for running out of memory because of said driver issues I had, but then again I have frame generation off in all games.
I know frame gen just like 1.0 is very broken, had to turn that off just so the game didn't crash so much
tbh, frame gen in general seems kinda broken in a shit ton of games
Yeah, cyberpunk I think seems to be one of the few games that had gotten it right
But every other game with frame gen just seems to be a shit show unfortunately

yeah my advise is don't turn frame gen on, so for in 1.1 its only lead to the game crashing for me, so bad experience overall

Haha, that was kinda intentional. It's shot from above. The floor is made of iron smelters, the wall is a tower of steel foundries.
The top of the factory produces steel beams which are then brought back down via the opposite wall.
All you gotta do is hook the cannon up to a tube and put a pillar at the exit

on my 1.1 save I unlocked ||underclocking|| in the MAM as soon as I could, so my first factory was just rows and rows of smelter-constructor-container, no splits or merges ^^
On Windows the save files end up in AppData\Local\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames
The save file path is in the #faq . You might need to create one save on steam for the steam folder to appear
i wish i could send pictues in this server, but on the one i want to port there is no saved folder

Solid steel in the early, hell even late game is for lack of a better word, solid, but do remember the extra step of smelting the iron, before feeding into the foundries.

imo you shouldn't rely on them for power transferance. If you start adding/changing your rail system you'll likely shut off your factories. Better to have proper cables
it's practically impossible to estimate things for future, unless you plan the whole game from start
so usually the question "how much should I make of X" has answer of "make what you need now, ignore future, in the future you will make what you need in the future"

ive tried loading other saves and nothing happens
check the save file directory to see if the BP file is there
how to do that

paste that into the explorer address or win+R
