For my personal preference, since 4800 averages to 8 mk2 pipes, I would just manifold it and put two on the end and 6 spread evenly throughout.

Because remember, its two seperate systems making turbo fuel, blenders and refiners
so 1300 is coming from the blendy boys, and the refiners are making up the remainder 3500
So, I would personally do as I suggested before, but for that, it would be 2x Mk2 1x Mk1 coming from blenders, and 5 mk2 and 1 mk1 coming from refineries. And then just distributed evenly amongst the blenders making RF.
And, I have had great expierence with doing this with high amounts of fluid flow and a single manifold across the machines.
Hell, going to be putting it the real test with 32 Npp in a row 🤣

the main utility of iron pipe though is that its really good for producing a small quantity of iron pipes necessary for an intermediary without adding much more logistics
consider e.g. stator production without coal
which is relevant for a bunch of recipes

if youre already making steel at a given factory and aren't out of coal yet, i'd never use iron pipe
but if youd rather skip the steel-making step its just super convenient
maybe ill just leave this drive sitting for a bit to see some other recepies

motors are one of those items that you really kinda automate asap, but can turn into a pretty chonky build when you seriously tackle it

My refining operation is in two parts, the main refinery that is pushing out 12,000 ingots that I'm not entirely sure how to sub divide, and the tiny refinery nearby that is responsible for aluminion>ficsite transmutation to provide trigons.
i just discovered tractor/station, so i built a small circuit to test it. 2 stations, start at one, pause at the other briefly then continue to first. i recorded it and it runs but pauses forever at the 2nd station. what settings do i have to alter? Both stations are empty, as this is just a test. but they're powered
yeah, i'm going to probably break up the world aluminum into 3 factories
I didn't do all 12300 in one place because I'd never get the last bit to look good in the main installation, on the upside is it'll produce 450 trigons for stores.

I use one automated for steel production and I drive one manually to get coal for the power plant
are multiple bases common then? As you have to belt/tractor it back somehow, unless you have multiple bases

alright well i've quit my 75 hour save. however now im starting a save with my sister who's played the game for like 6 hours and we just got to phase 2 so it should be fun teaching her about pipes
theres also a lot of places with most of the resources you need close by

belting thigns back and forth early on is perfectly acceptable. Don't be afraid of a long belt or two
i fear i'll end up in spaghetti mode and it'll be a nightmare to navigate or to see what's going on :p
but i also imagine i'll be tearing down the base a few times as things get upgraded

if you really enjoy the game you'll be improving after 200hrs of playing, and 500hrs of playing, and you'll still be learning and planning better after 1000
that's up to you. Constant rebuilding can lead to burn out depending on the person
making new factories might be a better choice for you.
that's my factorio problem. it gets messy after a while and i get frustrated and try to build anew and lose motivation D:
The first three times I played, I had the same issue... solved it by making a rule for myself that everything must be a blueprint. That evolved into self-contained factories that take in basic materials and output a single item. Found the challenge of solving the math, then the 3d puzzle of fitting all the buildings into the blueprint really satisfying, and it makes it really easy to clean up a base once I create something new
completely unrelated, but is it a known issue that the first item created by a building always uses the default speed and production count? For example, I wanted a quick run of pressure conversion cubes, so I created 4 assemblers, put in Somersloops and Power Shards, and loaded them with 100 Fused Modular Frames and 200 Radio Control Units, and let it go. I expected 200 cubes, but ended up with only 196.
what I find is a good method is build in floors
floor one smelters, floor two constructors ect, then link up everything as needed
and when you get better belts you can expand sideways
it's not 'efficient', but it gets the job done w/o a ton of effort
in like 20h my pet turtle bouta come out of its grave just to die again 😤

if your bp contains belt ends, they'll reach across short distances to another bp instance in proximity. the feature kinda only works right if everything is pretty lined up
I've not been finding the feature super-useful on experimental, but they're still refining it
probably still that, if multiple are in the same row, compare to the other side of the previous one and try to stick the closest ones together
and, no autoconnect doesn't do power cables unfortunately
or directly modify the designer to add pseudo power poles to designate extension ppoints

nah, it's essentially just a gas byproduct from the quantum encoder. you convert it into dm crystals which you can sink or use for other product
the tricky part of phase 5 is figuring out how to make enough dm crystal for everything you need

it's pretty niche but I find it's good for ammunition factories. Things you don't need running 100% of the time
just dump of bunch of stuff in a sorter to process biomass whenever you come back from killing things and you get lots of guns from guts
yeah, really biocoal and charcoal aren't very useful for power, steel (or anything that'll run continuously), but for ammo and gas filters, it saves you from having to import another ore to where you're making that stuff
i usually for the consumables, design the machines to run until you fill up a crate and then stop, then top off what i take
in such a factory, late game, coal also can be simply converted into sulfur and quartz which gives you black powder & shatter rebar if you so choose
(i always find that the number of different things you need to import into a make-everything ammo factory is a little unwieldy
made a plan for my power infrastructure in this save, 1200 oil for diluted fuel and 600 for rocket so i have enough leeway to start nuclear, and im going to use the oil at west coast, the perfect location, and the rest of the oil from resource well will be packaged and sent to my tier 8 factory

The more you play it the more you will get ideas on how to play it better. A few months ago I was just doing factories. Took a 6 months break and I came back and I just started doing arhitecture. Everything comes at the right time. No one tells you to rush it. You will make factories. Delete them. Improve them. Constantly changing things.

Tbh, dealing with the byproducts is part of the puzzle that is there to make us think, flooding places with water/sulphuric/nitric acids or HOR is not great, especially as we can't see the colossal mess that would make.

satisfactory is one of the most optimized games (without lumen enabled) i have ever seen, runs at 50fps at 2560x1080p high on a GTX 1060.
i used to play it on integrated gfx and got 15fps at 1680x720p with the absolute lowest settings, 50% fsr and no fg, pretty impressive for these days.

its because with some recipes you need...alot of them, so much so that they can become a problem even with mk6 belts

178 * mk2 pumps isn't that much power in the grand scheme of things
I recommend just putting the water at a high spot before feeding it to the reactors it smooths a LOT of pipe problems

It does, but one "issue" I've noticed is that it seems to work better when the pump is placed just under the last headlift and not right at. If that makes sense.

the "issue" I have noticed also is the game doesn't give the correct pump placement for best headlift, aka it actually fails if you follow the games suggested placement for the pumps....I had to learn that lesson the hardway

Walls are nice as the pumps snap to them as well.
I tried following the games bubble for the pump placement and then wondered why none of my fluids were making it through the pipes, because the pumps all exceeded the headlift limits

In the very first 1.1 experimental build there was a bug where slide jumping momentum would stack continuously, which would let you build up an insane amount of speed. that was later fixed and slide jumping is back to normal now
Make a copy of the satisfactory data directories to your new machine to bring over your saves, blueprints, etc. the paths are detailed in #faq

Nah, been playing experimental since the first 1.1 release and it was very noticeable but short lived
not sure if its still there in the release for 1.1 coming later, but that was a few months ago on the exp branch. There some kinda overbounce that occurs on the ground which enables the speed as well

Its more like a side feature. You can also view your clips and screenshots, change settings or your profile and get reward points
It can bug out. As greeny said, prefill pipes before you start the machiens, and reconnect connections often work.

Valves don't really help. A pump can force the flow in a particular direction.

IMO pretty likely, since mods are working in Experimental. 1.1's unlikely to change the codebase so much that they can't adapt quickly

due to backflow in manifolds, you can't move 600m3/min in one direction with a simple manifold. Some of it flows back and effectively reduces flow capacity.
It's an intentional behavior that is often misunderstood
tl;dr pipes do UP TO 100% of their rated flow rate depending on how they're built. It's often less, like 80-90%. If you don't want to learn all of the little rules and niches for their behaviors, just treat them as if they have 80% of the listed flow rate.

Well, the pause node defaults to how long you waited.
If you didn't wait it will be set to certain minimum.
But you can point at the pause node and edit the time.

One thing I will say, at least for me, is that it can freeze up at times. I have learned that when I'm about to play and it does a little update (especially the protons), it is best to go and verify files and let that tick.
The other thing I do is when I click Play I do not touch my computer throughout the whole Shader Compilation process, and then when the main menu appears I count to 10 limestones. The first freeze usually occurs when a drone is about to fly overhead. The second can come some minutes into the game. It is just to try and Tab-over to Steam and press Stop and wait (hopefully crash report is automatically sent?)... Or sudo kill -9

if you have nvidia you need to disable the compositor, or else it will result really bad lag on your full system
