And if the byproduct is a liquid that is used by a previous step, you can just feed it into a seperate loop of the same production, and eliminate it completely. Like in aluminum production where water is a byproduct, but also required by the refinery.
We're speaking of minimum buildings to beat satisfactory tho
The crafting table would burn
Silly goals require silly actions
Buffers if ya want to prolong non-automation
A cubic kilometre of pipes should buffer a fair bit.
The max buffer possible would be the inventory and hub chest
I confirm LMAO
600km of pipes in that save :)
Mmmm fair point
I mean i'd say it count as a building
If you wanna have a WR on least possible buildings you probably just need to sink ore for a quadrillion years.
Ficsit coupons should allow you to unlock most of the milestones with adequate handcrafting
when preparing for phase 2 and needing 1000 smart plating and other resources, what Per min target do you guys go for?
I went with 5 / min, slooped to double.
Look under the arch
hmmm, I am not that far away ... time to venture!
Bring ladders
I might double from 10pm cos there is nothing left to unlock until the phase is completed
yeah, lol
I just spent any "waiting" time collecting snails, sloops and spheres
good call
Tho the sink and shop would be considered buildings, so not using them would be better than using them
guys the torch is too bright, and without it I cannot see ... how can I turn it down please?
might want to play with your settings for this
Turn ur screen luminosity down ?
I need 100 of the fluctuators to make unlock slooping so ill just manually craft :(
fun fun
hello i have a question is 6 heavy modular frame per minute any good for first world or it is very poor amount for future recepis?
worry about future stuff when you get to it
very wisdom(i dont said it ironicli)
focus on what you need to build (costs of building) and expand your factory first 🙂
ok thanks
and go VERTICAL 😛
why?
more than enoguh for storage and prob enough for later if you dont plan to go crazy with some high tech item
if you want bcs why not. that 3rd dimention really increases how much you can fit in the world
ok i was worry that its not enougt because making 6 per minute reqiues insaine amouth of stuff
ye i gusse its true specially for bigger factory
yeah its famous for how anoying it is to make. funy memes from it exist tho
Heh, it is a shame it takes so long to be able to automate those
Though I suppose Depots have to have some downside. :P
yeah I could but I would need to transport all the SAM
i'm doing it to unlock slooping lol
If you've got manufacturers, there's no need to transport SAM; just make 'em right near the SAM node and send 'em to a Depot. :)
yeah automating and depoting fluctuators was one of the first 1.0 things I did
need the steel and wire though
Steel and Wire are easy to come by; just make 'em onsite
Plenty of locations where you can do that with pretty short belts
Slooping takes a number of sloops equal to the machine's inputs
Constructors take 1, assemblers 2, manufacturers 4, etc
You can also partially sloop a machine; don't have to put them all in
get the iron pipe recipe
have it already
with iron wire, you only need iron
dont have iron wire, really wanna get it tho
it's super helpful
yea
You misspelled "balanced" there btw. :P
Except for particle accelerators which have 3 inputs and take 4 sloops
oh thats why they chose those numbers, i thought they just increased with how complex the machine and that was just decided by the devs
nvm then
You could consider the 20GW of power the thing eats to be an item if that makes you feel better.
Encoders are even worse.
well i casually slooped all mine (whcih are 2 of them making the two itesm that arent space elevator parts)
no 3 mb theres the powershard one at a difernet location acorss the map
Goodness me man.
idk some 1000 fuel gens seem enough. im now starting up nuclear bcs ik i will need more for space elevator parts.
also thinking about slooping my 4 nuclear pasta machines to make more portals (pasta is my bottle neck for the portal shit)
I need to know what they look like.
Half the reason I oversloop things is so I can see those cool purple and pink flames 🔥
all the reason for me is they nice and saves half the work needed but too bad im nearly out and have 8 left
Love the noises overslooped machines make too.
BRAWWA
HUAHM
MMMMMM
my favourite sounds are the power augmenter tho
(still related to sloops)
I have a world. It’s five years old, and I started it back in 2020.
I keep coming back to it, it’s basically at the end of tier 8, but the r world is a massive mess
Oh good call! Forgot about that. :P Okay, so it's slightly more handwavey than number of inputs
The problem is I hate starting over in games, especially when it’s back to absolutely nothing
Well, it could very well have been that too. As Trek pointed out, Accelerators have three inputs but take four sloops. :P
APM-enhanced APAs are A+
Really love those effects (both visual and sound)
That's reward in itself for automating the APMs
Also, what do you prefer, trains or drones
Trains only need electricity for power but need a lot of infrastructure and drones need fuel but no infrastructure
I’m thinking just reworking my current world into a big drone hub
IMO all the available logistics options are quite good within their niches. I use all of 'em
Even trucks?
Yeah, I love 'em (though I use tractors a lot more frequently than trucks)
I admit that once I unlock drones I'm far more likely to use those than the other options, for mid-to-long-range transfers. The near-total lack of required infrastructure is difficult to argue with
Though I still like running at least passenger rail to new factories/areas, so it's not like I completely disregard that
The biggest problem I have with drones is that the animation for docking is so long
(And vehicles are great for shorter-range things throughout the game)
It’s like a three minute animation
Eh, the only thing that matters is throughput. If you need a second (or third) drone then you need more drones, c'est la vie. :)
isn't hypertube faster?
Maybe, but I just don't tend to build hypertube networks; always difficult for me to justify the work when I'm building rail infrastructure anyway
Easy enough to just hop on a train and watch the scenery go by. :)
Makes sense
Mostly I just use hypertubes locally, to get to various parts of a factory
(In the past I have used tubes for factory-to-factory travel though; maybe with 1.1 coming up I'll start doing more of that again. The junctions and such look nice)
(Also, I realize I could just include tubes inside my rail-pillar blueprints and essentially get them for free. I just don't tend to do that, is all. :D)
I suppose part of is is that psychologically I don't really want a tube network to follow rails exactly, though. Like a tube network should complement a rail network instead of just duplicating it.
Personal preference stuff for sure, though!
You could just build a hypertube cannon
don't have to travel all the way there, just build a cannon and aim it in the general direction of your destination, it can go up to 2-3km/s
I have one that takes me like 1.5 km in just 5-10 seconds
(with jetpack)
God damn it you gave me an idea
what
I want to make a video of a factory and now I want to have it so a series of belts, hypercannons, bounce pads all perfectly lined up to allow me to press record, jump on the starting belt and just move my mouse around a bit for framing while the series of transport chaos goes around the entire project
sounds fun
throws onto the pile of the other 6092134 other things I need to do on this project
I kill them on site
I've gotten a nuke nobelisk, 9 turbo motors (both of which I'm not supposed to unlock yet), a yellow power slug, and some computers. and a handful of highspeed connectors
I could, yeah, but I generally don't. Too "cheaty" for me (though, like tube networks, I have used 'em in the past)
WHYYYYY
do fluid pipes need pump over distance, or just height?
Just height. Pumps set "head lift," which is how far up they can go
They don't really "pump" like a real-life pump would
Many moons ago back in 2018 when the alpha for this game started, I was the first one to have a doggo jump in front of me while I was attacking the little bug bastards, they used to be much more annoying back then mind you!
I killed it and I felt terrible, but upon looking at the body I saw "Press [E] to pet the creature"
I reported the bug and every update I killed one to see if they have fixed this bug, after years of updates and hundreds of patches I killed countless doggos and started to just do it on instinct, to this day you still get "Press [E] to pet lizard doggo" after killing one.
evil person
tbh the best line in a satisfactory was i just realized i am the alien invasion
I'm a cult leader what do you expect?
Also I am just doing my job as someone who finds bugs >:(
you could kill one every update instead of massacring them
After the amount of patches we've seen, is there a difference?
should i prioritize making alclad ingots or keep a lot as aluminum
How I handle aluminum is: Essentially max out a bauxite node making ingots. Send all those ingots to a sink. Then as other factories need aluminum products (sheets/casings/heatsinks/tanks), I set up however many are needed off of that line, and over time the amount of ingots being sunk shrinks. Eventually the supply of ingots is about exhausted, at which point it's time to spin up another aluminum factory elsewhere
Yeah, for systems which involve fluids especially I tend to like keeping them running at 100% if possible, so I've got sinks galore. (I do it for basically all factories anyway, but fluids are where I really want it solid)
Has anyone else had issues where snapping a pump directly to the head lift indicator bubble doesnt work out? This has happened to me a ton, more times than not. I usually end up having to place another pump prior somewhere down the line cause the head lift wasn't actually getting fluid to the bubble.
(1.0)
Yeah, fluid flow at the very limit of headlift can be a bit unreliable; I always recommend placing a little ways below that
Pumps are cheap; if you end up having an extra few here and there, you'll still be fine
Why is satisfactory so addicting?
Because it is satisfying
But is it satisfactory?
if it gives satisfaction
That’s what I call satisfactory satisfaction
It satis factories my buildings
😦 First death ever, falling from the a mile high SAM node pillar.
Constant low-level dopamine hits from watching resources go brrr
Looks like the consumer got consumed 😏
We should all be thankful that CSS aren't predatory with monetization on this game. :)
And these help as well
Numbers go up :D
It is amazingly "satisfying" to relax and watch the factory humming along when you finish something
Fun fact, you won't die from falling if you're at 100% health. You'll be left at basically 1hp.
Thats why you take damage halfway down to properly die
Oh, yeah I had that happen once before. I just finished killing a gang of 5 spiders and was probably one or two health bars down 😦
Pretty sure the exact same thing happened to me at the exact same spot.
One thing I've noticed a lot (Happens in some other hames as well). If you are running along and your foot catches the edge of something like a tree branch or line of rock or a very shallow "cliff" like change in elevation of the ground or anything, It often sends your rocketing sideways and in a few cases off the edge of an actual cliff -.-
I have to ask now. I constantly lose my jet pack. I think I built the 4th or 5th new one since the switch to experimental. Does this anyone else experience? Should I report it?
is there an official steam deck layout now that there’s controller support?
I think it happen when I switch between jet- and hover pack. (TAB -> 1 -> TAB)
Nevermind, I found them. They where in the dimensional depot. 🤪
powergrid shutting down so frequently, my capacity is way decently more than the consumption
how do i go about troubleshooting
Build more power!
look at the graph
You will never regret having more power than you need
When I play, I make sure to keep an eye on the power grid frequently; if I ever get within like a third or quarter of my production line, I build out more power
But yeah, in the meantime you can maybe shut down some areas of your factory to give yourself enough headroom to build more power
(If you are still early game and using Biomass Burners: sort of ignore all that for now; just do whatever you need to do to get to Phase 2, which is when you get fully-automatable power)
Early-game Biomass Burners is sort of Power Trips: The Game™
(It's much easier nowadays to have pretty stable power in the early game too, thanks to being able to hook bioburners up to belts, of course)
my production dipped slightly below the consumption
i can't tell why
If your production line isn't a solid straight line, then one or more of your power gen buildings is starving on resources. What stage are you at? (ie: what power do you have running?)
Also this is probably a better topic for a #1038092680493801533 thread, because presumably we'll need to start sharing screenshots, etc. :)
coal power
alr
Okay, yeah, open a thread, and include shots of your machines, etc. :)
(Caveat re: If your production line isn't a solid straight line -- later in the game there are some situations where your power production line might not be straight (geothermal, trains, etc))
okay i did
It was a little confusing at first with the bio burners in that, when they run out of fuel, it says that a breaker tripped, rather than "Ran out of fuel".
power production drops. no longer enough power to supply grid, consumption > production. fuse blows
or something idk
IRL, if a generator runs out of fuel, breakers don't pop.
Ooop, moved
yeah and irl when you remove all the supports of a foundation it doesn't remain floating in the air 🙃
WHAT?!?!? That's news to me
i know, crazy right
you also usually can't eat food or drink coffee through an astronaut helmet
Watch me
Yeah, I can see that being confusing to new players
the breaker isn't tripping because of a generator running out of fuel, the breaker is tripping due to not enough power for the grid, which in your case happened to be because of a generator running out of fuel because you didn't have an excess of generators providing power to that grid.
if you tried the same thing IRL with 4 generators providing 100% of the load for a circuit and then one ran out of fuel the breaker for the circuit would trip then as well due to undervoltage on the circuit
intuition is telling me the machines would just not run at full capacity but i'm definitely not educated in electronics and i'm fully prepared to be wrong
Do updates to the DD happen automatically across all already installed DD machines?
I want to say that I handcrafted everything to phase 5
even the project parts?
sounds incredibly boring
Oh it was
Trust me I would know
About 30ish hours of movies and shows and a fun crafting noise
rinky-tink-tink-dink-rinky-dink-tink
since you already were using mods why not just use the mod that speeds up manual crafting as well?
(Or just enable AGS and give yourself the SE parts. :)
Just isn’t the same feeling
i mean if you're gonna install a mod to remove restrictions deliberately placed in the game to make it fun you might as well
Don't get me wrong; I'm all for modding so you can play however you like. :D Just seems like if you're watching a movie and not even playing the game, may as well just shortcut it all the way. :)
true that
Can sign up for a distributed citizen science app for 30 hours instead if you still want to stress out your system. :)
or just start the game post-phase 5 and don't even bother with the project parts
Bro can any1 pls explain coal energy like i just built my first „farm“ with an YouTube tut but i dont understand. Like you need electricity to power the coal Generator but i also produces it like wth
(I am being slightly disingenuous here; I understand the appeal of doing something silly just for its own sake.)
Right, you need some electricity to get it going in the first place -- not for the Coal Generators themselves, but for the miners which get you the coal, and the water extractors which give you the water. Generally you'll use Biomass Burners to get those going
But once the coal generators are up and running (and providing enough power), you can take the biomass burners offline, and the Coal Gens will be self-sustaining
just hook up a bioburner to give it an initial jumpstart of power. once a few of the generators are running, you can remove the bioburner and it should power itself
Yoo thxx
Another day another
But does the water extractor power itself too after a while or does the coal generator power it
the coal generators will power the extractor :)
assuming they're connected via power lines of course
Thxx
Yeah, machines like extractors and miners (and constructors, smelters, etc) just need electricity from somewhere. They don't care where. So when spinning up coal, you usually first have biomass burners to get them going, but then once the coal power is up and running, you'd have that wired into the grid
Later on in the game you'll probably have coal power running alongside fuel power, running alongside nuclear power, etc. All that can be active at the same time, and just contributes power into your grid
The machines don't actually care where they get it from
(And in fact have no concept of "I'm getting power from this specific machine/plant." It's just "there's power on the grid, and I am using some of the power")
imagine if power pole/grid was limited to one power generator
i actually watched someone on 1st blind playthrough thought that's the case for some reason lol
the moment he realized 😂
Heh, on my first playthrough it took me a bit to realize I could hook everything up to a single grid; had these separate sets of machines being powered by a single burner
My first playthrough had one burner per machine for about four hours 🤦♂️
If fluids are gravity bound per the pipline manual
Gravity-Bound: Pipes will always flow down first, if possible.
Why does the lower pipe in a Variable Priority Junction have priority over the higher pipe?
Because the lower liquid is already there
The liquid in the higher pipe does want to go down, yes; the keyword is "possible", though. When there's already liquid blocking it below, it has no choice but to stay up where it is
(It's worth noting that the VIP Junction apparently isn't really 100% reliable anyway, btw)
I generally recommend building pipe networks which don't even need something like a VIP Junction in the first place. Pipes like being simple
I agree with this, and I think you point out a key phrase possible. I just struggle with the thought that as fluids move through the pipe fluids need to be replaced at that junction and gravity should prioritize the top, not the bottom.
Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. :)
ah damn, I thought they were pretty reliable especially if I'm not at full capacity.
I'm setting up for sloppy alumina -> electrode aluminum scrap. What other options should I be considering for the excess water? Just packaging and sinking it?
yeah i hate that thing its total cap
What I recommend is using separate sets of machines for fresh vs. recycled, and downclock as appropriate to make sure the numbers work
every single method of mixing byproduct and fresh has literally not proven itself to work consistently and i wish itd literally just be outlawed
They can still be part of the same "line" of machines, but it's basically just Don't Mix The Pipes
As an example from a small vanilla-recipe Aluminum system: #math-and-meta message
funny reading reddit it seems like it can not work, but many people get them setup effectively.
As I mention there, I do tend to pre-flood the "recycled" pipe so that the system starts off running at full speed
I should probably have caveated that statement, btw: you can absolutely get a working system with VIP junctions doing what you want. If it's been running for an hour without problems it'll probably run without problems forever. But depending on small variations in build style, circumstance, or the whims of a chaotic and uncaring universe, a VIP junction build could run into some problems anyway. :P
I just prefer to avoid fancier pipe stuff altogether nowadays
yeah makes sense. I'm trying to figure out the math now on how to balance out using your suggestion. I've got some decently large numbers I'm considering.
For any advice re: fluids, it's helpful to mentally insert "but it is possible to get stuff working without or even against this advice, and sometimes even people following this advice might have problems."
Fluids be a fun problem. :)
sure, but if you go into a custom gamemode/creative world and try all 4 methods of mixing fresh and byproduct you'll find with 100% consistency that NO solutions work 100% of the time
That said, once you're used to working with them and figure out what works well for you, it's generally possible to just slap down a pipe network and end up with no problems
the real indictment of the VIP junction is that the inventor, McGalleon, writer of the fluid manual and real engineer, doesn't fucking understand how they work and doesn't use them
they do not follow from any real world principle
they're probably a result of some weird ass code in the game
Weird Ass-Code? Why would they put Ass-Code in the game? I thought doggo cloacas were hypothetical
i still use them sometimes because I'm a terrible human being who doesn't practice what he preaches and they will sometimes fail on me
i dont see any time where you have to use them
aluminium water by-product recycling
Yeah, for recycling loops in particular, the easiest solution is just "don't combine them"
Separate sets of machines, possibly with underclocking, is 100% the way to go. Dead simple, no opportunities for failures, should work every time
as interesting as the problem is of recycling fluids i honestly just think its so frustrating and poorly explained to the player
though really it's so much easier to just split the recycled from fresh
what logically should work just, doesnt
ive had so many friends ask me wtf to do because they get entirely confused and just end up sinking wet concrete or something
yeah imagine a player that doesn't use the wiki or tools or whatever, knows how splitters and manifolds work for belts, and doesn't understand why fluid no work
can drop item have an effect of Performance?
There's probably technically a performance hit, though I expect you'd have to drop a lot before it'd become noticeable. They don't interact with physics and such so it shouldn't be too bad
oh god
You can always just go back and pick 'em up
If you have a ton of them that you want to get rid of, maybe SCIM (https://satisfactory-calculator.com/en/interactive-map) has a way to mass-delete 'em
What have you done
i killl to many enemies
Sounds like you've got a lot of tasty DNA to collect!
Doesnt this also delete all the items from crash sites?
turn it all to biomass
I was thinking more "select an area and then delete." I honestly don't really know what SCIM's editing capabilities are; I basically only ever use it as a viewer
Yeah same
I did use it to adjust the rotation of the dropped items in my Space Elevator Part Museum Room on my 1.0 save, though. :D
I don't recall SCIM having a way to see or remove individual dropped items, and while it can show spawn sites which is probably where a lot of the remains may be, I don't think alien remains show up either.
If you had them in a personal storage crate or container, then you could just delete what's in the container or the whole container in SCIM.
Years ago, Jace or Snutt talked about how the items on conveyors and in containers don't actually exist as models. It's just a count and those items on a belt are some magic texture trick. I don't understand how the belts can be that since things are unevenly spaced, you can pick things off a belt. In any case, individual dropped items have to have some details about their location stored with them, while once they're in a container they don't exist as other than a number and type in a stack array.
why would trains not be fully/unloading evne when the setting is set on their timetable
ive never had to actually use this setting before but i have no idea why theyll just continue to act the same way and only unload half their cargo instead of waiting
Is there space for all of it?
no which is precisely why I want it to wait
i already tried setting AND wait 15 seconds but it did nothing itd just unload and leave 💀
FWIW, I'm the guy who made the train bootcamp and I didn't cover these settings because though I've been playing since trains were first added to Early Access, these settings are not crystal clear nor does the behavior seem entirely predictable. I've been meaning to just sit down one day and test the heck out of them, but it's time consuming and with 1.1 on the way, I'm waiting to see if they make any changes there.
lol, crazy timing for me to ask that while youre in this chat
you mean the map/save right? i sent that to a friend of mine and she said it was great
but yeah ive never had to use these until now and theyre being a pain in my side, I guess i'll give this loop another hour or so though to see if it stabilizes on its own
Yes, it's a save.
random question am i the only one that uses that satisfactory calculator map to reset my awesome sink once in a while so that i get more points
Even the wiki doesn't seem to cover it.
i mean probably not but like i argue whats the point of doing that you might aswell just inventory edit yourself tickets at that point
but that feels like cheating i do it about after 150 hours so not often
I didn't even know you could do that. I'm chugging out coupons at a cost of hundreds of millions each.
my next coupon right now says 150 million
i mean what youre doing would feel like cheating to me but to each their own
satisfactory-calculator.com/en/interactive-map#8.5;-79555;-218969|gameLayer|;somersloops yeah you can do it here just upload your save file right click the awesome sink and pres reset points
i LONG beat the game and the fun for me at this point is to get as many golden nuts as possible so the exponential growth rate of the tickets is a fun mechanic
FWIW, if you want the golden nut, you can just give yourself one (or 1000) in SCIM.
i mean, if you want anything you can just give yourself it in scim, its just inventory editing
you can't give yourself the points you have to give yourself the items :) but that feels like cheating
can just inventory edit every space elevator part in the game and beat the game in a few hours
Yeah, I'm just entertained thinking about the various lines where it goes from save editing to cheating.
*seconds
Speed run: Unlock all tiers, recipes, and items. Give inventory for final space elevator delivery and watch animation. FIN.
personally i copypaste builds all the time with scim because its like yeah is it really cheating to hack this in when i have infinite building materials being put into the depot 🤔 but i dont really give myself anything since thatd be blatant cheating
you can go from face 1 to face 5 in 1 second whit save editing
i also just discoverd this after like 800 hours of playing the game
nearly 900
No judgement. I'm just kidding around.
i know i'm just saying that i'm not a new player
big fan of playing games in any way you want to have the most fun, unless they are pvp in which case, add the clause of not impacting other peoples fun :P
exactly
Me, too. The game is for fun. Do anything you want.
some games almost feel unplayable without cheating, the old versions of persona 3 for instance O.O
are there any known issues with throughput of mk6 conveyers when maxed to 1200? i've been staring at this conveyer of petro coke for the past 30mins and cannot find literally any issues with it at all yet its not able to feed the last machine properly
We all have our tolerances for tedium. Sometimes you just want to say, yeah, yeah, I know I can do/build that, but to I want to spend all weekend at it.
have you tried restarting the game or re placing the mk6 conveyer
I've already restarted the game, sanity checked every machine and belt 2 times, and replaced all the belts
but yet still the last machine fails to be fed, yet when watching the belt for like 5mins it doesnt seem to ever hiccup?
ah yes satisfactory is the perfect game
have you tried feeding the feeder beld from the center
not from the left or right
alright you have like 4 machines normally you would connect your beld one one side but it's more efficient to do it 2 on the left and 2 on the right (sorry if my grammar is bad)
i mean 2 machines on each side of the beld
Ionized fuel not actually better for jetpack than rocket fuel?
how many sloop crystals are there?
Since they can let me double my item creation, i need more
like in early stage of the game, like phase 2, i guess there is no rigth or wrong way to play the game, but should i start making a factory for like the basic stuff? like plates, rod, screws, reinford plates, rotors? And then my biggest question is. What would be a good amout to automate a min? 500 of each?
im not sure about the total height from either of them but ionized fuel lets you vector your momentum to an insanely useful degree so its definitely better overall
fluid tanks, or canisters. Which one lasts longer if i put biofuel in it
There's a steam achievement to collect 100, at least
Is there only 1 custom swatch or can you make more?
uh, what?
For fuel, liquid boifuel.
you can only use plastic empty canisters to make packaged liquid biofuel
the aluminum fluid tanks are for certain types of fluids/gases
off the top of my head
plastic canisters -> water, biofuel, fuel, heavy oil residue, crude oil
aluminum tanks -> rocket fuel, ionized fuel, nitrogen gas, etc
Liquid Biofuel gives you alot of air time with the jetpack, slow ascent but plenty of hover time
liquid biofuel is genuinely great until you get turbofuel (or just skip to rocketfuel like a chad)
why not both
cuz nitro rocket fuel is goated
i wish turbo biofuel was a thing
once you get nitro fuel you can easily get ionized
no lol you need the encoder to get ionized
is there fix camera?
hi can somoene help me figure out how the vehicles work ?
ye but they mostly dont want me to open the recording menu
i cant
the menu doesnt open
dont worry about that im just trying to connect one truck to two stations, but idk maybe the game is bugged, bcause i cant open the menu to record the path or launch the autopliot
That’s weird, the only vehicle bugs I know is like, you can’t put fuel into it unless you get in the vehicle first
wait
i quitted the game and now i can open it
but my truck is gone in the air lmao
They do that

Hey guys, i am à bit overwhelmed with my game at tier 7. Should i stop everything and do it right on another because i'm a bit lost.
@unborn gyro not all over. I've put everything in the same area interconnected like a noob
I feel attacked 😄
I seriously need to force myself to move out of the grassy starting area after I finish phase 2
@leaden ether please dont
I start in the rock désert. And all my stuff untill tier 7 is in the area maybe to much in the same place
Hmm, I'm working out a small set of minor factories specifically to fill in my DD that I just unlocked, so maybe now is the time to go exploring new bioms
I’m PURPOSELY building all in one place.
Hi I just joined. This game absolutely rules.
part of me misses exploring the world, not knowing what's out there. It's a shame they didn't go down the procedural route but it's whatever
Yes it does.
yeah it's in my top 3 of all time
BeamNG.drive and satisfactory are my only games to reach quadro numbers
I wish i've done one factory for one pièce at à time and search for the Best place with ressources nearby
My most recent obsession is trailing a line of foundation from my last construction behind me everywhere I go so that I can keep my new builds "on the grid"
in case I ever join them
you know there's the world grid
you hold control when making foundations
only one (but you don't really need more anyway)
Is that always going to orient the same way? that's interesting but I feel like since I've already built a bunch of stuff it's too late for me ;_;
you can connect things even if they are not on the grid
(and generally there's no need to connect builds)
Yes but the megafactory beckons
that still doesn't need to be on a grid
Hey when you start a New game from when did you think about truck amd tractor or even trains to move your stuff? From the real beginning? I mean without unlock everything at first
when I can't find a place to build a factory which would have all the raw resources the factory needs
you need to unlock them to get them... but yes i have a save where i move crude oil to the grass fields like this... #screenshots message
which is usually pretty late in the game
@reef basin i've made the worse thing ever. I've almost built everything by hand 🤔
It seems a lot of work to me to redo everything with what i've done yet. I'm not even sure if my power grid is covering everything i have
I've done that too fast. If 468h is too fast lol
Someone removed my wood meme from the memes thread, I gues they didn't get the joke 😛
did the meme have two short planks?
My daily windows background today was a picture of a lake but HUGE in the foreground was a couple of pieces of knarled wood that looked VERY much like all the wood scraps you find in world. So I plastered a big "E" at the top of it.
It was removed. I mean it wasn't a screen shot but it was a satisfactory meme.
I do though
Ill just change the already existing ones
why? you can change the one you have
I got a question, I am making an oil rig like factory on those 4 oil nodes everyone first goes to (2x pure 2x normal overclocked to 240) but I heard people say it is not recommended to make liquids going up since they are affected by gravity, I scrapped my first design and now I want to make it so the 4 oil nodes push the crude oil straight to the top floor of the factory and then the products will go down (rubber, plastic, fuel etc) is there any chance this will work or will I get the same results as making the liquids go upwards
Every time I want a different swatch I would have to change it back to the colors I used before
the power costs of pumps is negligible..... its like people optimizing for not using a copper node when they only used 5% of the copper nodes on the map
if you have "colors you used before", that's what the 20 numbered swatches are for - reusing colors
Thats why I'm using those 20 swatches, but eventually I'll run out of them
yes but I did use pumps for the fuel but the pipes kept draining and I made sure there were enough refineries for fuel
why can't i pick up these green birds and feed them into my biomass shredders
there's gotta be some joules in there
can u get multiple different custom swatch slots
no
just slap a nobelisk on their back and turn them into kamikaze drones
You would get told how you are doing something wrong every 30 seconds 😂 jk greeny
Like FICSIT doesn't do that already
Is there a "take all" shortcut in machines?
Shift click grabs a stack. Ctrl click grabs everything
Ah, so when picking ore from those drills I need to always click the button?
Magic
You could pick up the miner, probably, then you'll get all the ore as well..
you can use ctrl+LMB as it was said
for machines like constructors, refineries, etc, when you ctrl-c then ctrl-v the machine, it will grab into your inventory whatever is buffered. i don't think that trick works for portabellas though
Portabellas? That's great
at one point, every now & then when you opened the miner ui, it would randomly say 'portabella miner'
I had no idea
easy to miss, lol
Oh wow
@unborn gyro should I keep 3k for alumin
Or use it a bit or not
Huh
Ik but the 3k gas can be good for having alumin stuff being made
You're on to something
flying pig
jetpack hog
?
a literal flying pig died there
theres 1 pig on the map the spawns with a jetpack
you didn't notice the explosion?
that was the pig
exploding
lucky you didn't die
they are surprisingly accurate suicide bombers usually
rare spawn. Unless you saved the game like 10 second before it happened, you're out of luck
i think the first time i found one was in the swamp (i immediatley killed it and i have the jetpack as a trophy)
you should be able to use it as long as you have fuel
i think it runs off solid biofuel too but i doubt it will be very good
solid biofuel is ass for it. Make liquid biofuel
stage below that
i found 4 of it in some place
329 hours gametime and i build my first train .p lol
when do u unlock trains?
long ago, first 100 hours i followed wrong base strategie and started again, this time was near that trains was needed .p
i think its phase 3
cant remember what tier tho
game ends at phase 5
ah one more ok
this game is brainstory enough but its nice to fnish some stuff 🙂 hope next is grow more hard. i like games need longer than 20 hours .)
looks at 4k+ hours and not having completed the game yet
im at close to 400 hours on this one save and im like halfway through all the phase 4 stuff
need to get factory set up for phase 5
ya complete is another thing .) collect everything etc.
not need if you have fun .p
And really, can you actually say you've finished the game without an ISC of Golden Nuts?
working on it
I actually only semi-recently found out that coupon cost is eventually capped; they don't keep growing forever
So you could get yourself to a fixed rate of Golden Nut acquisition
warp drives are the best right?
Most points per item, anyway
im making like 2 mil/min with this aluminum factory
Whether or not that actually equates to "fastest point acquisition" I'm not sure (though I'm guessing it probably does)
probably going to switch over to warp drives once i finish phase 5
does anyone know if theres a way to disable ADA's new negging lines? her normal dialogue is fine, but the negging when you build is actually irritating when you just want to relax :/
Heh, eesh, even at max BWD production (and I'm not sure how you'd power max-BWD-production unless you maybe made yourself a stockpile of fuel rods first or something) you're just getting 200 million points per min, which at max coupon-acquisition rate is a bit less than a coupon per minute. So even then you're looking at ~16 hours per Golden Nut
Max TPR is very nearly the same amount of points per minute, actually
Fewer points per item but you can produce quite a bit more
(this is without factoring in sloops, but I suspect they wouldn't change the numbers significantly, at those scales. Too few of 'em)
Oh hey, max ADS is ~280 million points/min, so that beats out BWD + TPR
I am slightly weirded out that Max Neural-Quantum Processor (again minus sloops) appears to be exactly 255
are you also considering all the points you get from the byproducts needed for max BWD production ( ie. the AI Expansion servers made just for the dark matter residue )?
I suppose I could've just clicked through to https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/AWESOME_Sink/Theoretical_maximum_of_points
Anyway, fun
Ah, I had not been
Just some quick back-of-the-sftools solvers plus multiplication
Anyway, obviously that question has been investigated far more thoroughly than I'd intended to ever do, so 🥳
Build a factory and design it and stuff just to unlock a new belt or item and have to re design it all
why redesign it?
um, thanks, lol
Is the new update out?
on experimental, yes
Sweet
yeah, pretty solid so far. bugs at this point seem to be minimal
how to smart splitters work? im using it for overflow but it just takes the item from my industrial storage container even if its not full
they work not that way 😛
one of the traditional ways of using them is to use them on the input to storage, with overflow being used to send them somewhere else.
or vice-versa- sending them to storage when the somewhere else backs up
OHHHH
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Bro the cyber wagon is so funny
The windows have bullet holes too lmao
After Musk kept yapping about bulletproof windows
Yeah the splitter is smart, not the storage lol
lmaoo yeah
whats up cthulhu
isnt it spelt cthulu? or am i tweaking out
Nothing much, finally done with my godforsaken shift, might finish my turbofuel now
Its spelt cthulhu
wow
cant believe ive been spelling it wrong for 9+ years
sorry i didnt respond, i saw that but i was in the middle of fighting 3 alphas 😭
lmao
Hello
i just died
TF is one of those builds that takes a lot longer to build than you anticipate
That’s just normal gameplay lmao
how big does the body of water need to be for the pump?
@near quarry it doesn't need to be any bigger than the extractor really... IT just needs to be deep enough (has to be a little deeper than a super-shallow puddle)
@near quarry doesnt need much space really.
Yeah. I screwed myself when I didn't actually check how much sulfur and coal are nearby, and now I need to build another supply line to actually make the whole build work. The polymer resin is actually a necessary resource for my planned factory that will make nuclear pasta and the other stuff, so there is no pulling out now.
I can let it run at roughly 80% capacity now, and fix the rest later
it is why i really try to defer doing a fuel power build until after blenders and i can use blended tf with drones moving the sulfur
(or just build fuel power in blue crater)
Diluted fuel is enough by itself in my experience
Guys, someone please can help me with this error, I can't play on the server, I get logged out all the time, this the message I got:
UlpNetConnection::HandleSocketSendResult: Socket->SendTo failed with error 23 (SE_ENETUNREACH).[UNetConnection] RemoteAddr[2804:9d0:4ed3:1f01:965b:ca48:1a83:5be]:7777, Name:IpConnection_2147422117, Driver: GameNetDriver IpNetDriver_2147422118, IsServer: NO, PC: BP_PlayerController_C_2147421796, Owner: BP_PlayerController_C_2147421796, Uniqueld: Steam:1 (76561198806075947) Connection will be closed during next Tick()!
I searched on Google and still haven't found a solution
Has anyone here experienced this and know how to resolve it?
seems like a network error where packets can't be sent to the hosting server
check your IPv6 connectivity?
how do i change fueltypes?
Objective: You're a quantum engineer. Your main goal is to design a quantum circuit (by placing quantum gates) that transforms an initial quantum state (usually all qubits starting as |0⟩) into a specific target quantum state.
Challenge: Each level presents a different target state (like a Bell state or GHZ state). You need to achieve this target with high fidelity (meaning your final state is very close to the target state, typically > 98%). You might also have implicit constraints, like needing to use few gates.
Not yet
@dense talon try test-ipv6
I tested it now and it is ok
Could it have something to do with the network drivers?
@dense talon well, probably not if you can comm out to anything else...
@dense talon want to try joining my game?
Yeah
@dense talon I sent you a friend request but I dont think I can DM because you have do not disturb on.
Ok
Thats the thing, have over 80 GW of power planned lol
Already using blenders to maximize crude potency, but now I gotta tap the last two nodes of coal and sulfur as well
you might consider slooping the compacted coal until you secure more
Never 🙂
i'm just saying, lol
to me in this game until you get to nuclear which is a formidable project (= fun for me), power is something i really just build to keep the grid supplied with as little effort as i can swing
DO items have different amounts of points for the awesome sink? Like does sinking a versitile frame count more than a piece of coal?
Yes
Thanks. (Whew) 🙂
yeah, more complex parts are worth exponentially more points
the last phase space elevator parts are in the range of 100-500k per item iirc. there's a full table of point values on the wiki
2,895,334 Ballistic Warp Drive
Doesn't it say how much it exactly is in the database in game?
last i looked, no
I swear I saw something like that... huh...
no, not in the codex
It definitely was in game.
Probably was a mod pre 1.0..
Ohhh, interesting. I'll keep thaty in mind. In one spot I was just sinking the extra ore bnecuse it was simple to put in but I just finished adding a sink to the final output of a factory so was sondering. I should go change the other one now...
Well if you want an estimate, you could always sink one minute worth of an item via MK1 belt and compare the resulting spike against your "background" sinking.
i mean you can, but it really isn't worth many points to sink ore
each coupon requires more and more points than its predecessors, so sinking ore at 1-3 points per item really just becomes a drop in the bucket quickly
some people like sinking uranium early b/c it has a decent point value. i'd rather spend that time making 10 rip/min and 10 rotor/min and using them to make smart plates to sink 🙂
I still can't figure out the flow problem with my oil 😦
Have you read about our Lord and Savior?

The AWESOME Sink is a special building that produces FICSIT Coupons for use in the AWESOME Shop by destroying items inserted into it, converting them into points based on their value or complexity, which in turn are used to print the aforementioned Coupons. Each successive Coupon requires more points...
quick wire or crystal is a very early easy to set up sink process. Much more than the raw components
I love the sink
You only realize how OP it is when making factories with manifolds and smart splitters to divert all overflow to sink
Become rich enough to flush it 😂

He and jace did a game stream, theyve got some vids up on jaces channel last I checked

Where do you fall into the void from
when you go far out on the gold coast, the water isn't really water anymore but instead void which you can fall into and die
it also prevents placement of water extractors too far out at sea, which is really annoying
not knowing that ahead of time nearly ruined a big power build i was doing there
Overclocking might help, if you didn't.
I have made good progress on my first official factory, cant wait to show off in screenshots xD it's not much, but it's an honest days work
#screenshots message @potent atlas she's a keeper 🥹
question for the nerds
she's done better than i have and i have about 160 hours in the game
I'm producing fuel using oil nodes across the map for burning.
the polymer resin or w/e it's called will be used for plastic and rubber. Should I move the polymer stuffos itself or do production of plastic/rubber on-site with it being transfered instead
(transit is by train)
id say make the production on site but it might lead to starvation of the production
actually no if you make it on site nvm
The grass fields has lulled me into a false sense of security -.- THere are some weird and dangerous places out there. I need to make the rebar gun I think.
there's no consumption yet, it's still just a byproduct
coal power is the first one after bio, I think
Alien life is biomass - therefore power - therefore efficiency = genocide is approved by A.D.A. because it goes with Ficsit mission. || Harvest, Consume ||
Tried throwing a nobelisk at a bee hive and it hit a bee on the way there and stuck uselesslty in the air -.-
that feeling when you're making a third of your turbofuel power setups worth of power with a single overclocked refinery that exists for the sole purpose of making polymer resin for fabric
Dont think i've heard someone call them beehive yet
Thats funny, kinda dissapointed it didnt stick to the "bee" and detonated when it touched you lol
any tutorial yall recomend me to idk know how to do stuff in the efficnt way
In b4 that guy comes to tell you efficiency doesn't exist
Fr, all you gotta do is divide prodyction by consumption*
If you have 4 assemblers needing 200 screws/m, and 4 constructors each making 50 screws/m, all you gotta do is get the product there
yea but idk why all is just going slower, i destroyed and rebuilt my factori to make it better looking and now i just fell that it is slow
i am getting much less than before and i divide
and i dont waste
Thats not true. There are limits.
trace back from the end result to the beginning, looking for bottlenecks along the way
ok
Officially automated:
Plates / rods / reinforced plates / screws/ rotors / molecular just copper and wire left
new save?
Nah rebuilt my mess of starter factories into one big starter factory
Ooof, I hit the bee nest (open) with four nobelisks and it's still alive -.-
fair
my OG save has been left unattended for long enough that I started a new one w/ friends. We just got trains unlocked :3
Oh damn nice
Yeah furthest Ive gotten in Beta was setting up coal power xD
This time im taking it slow, getting the factories done more or less as efficiently as I can with available nodes
Won't destroy it again thouhg, will just build in a new location when I have better shit
I'm leaving the stuff i don't wanna deal with to friendos lol
I do the same with my bf and his friends, I ain't do anything an run around exploring the map for em...an make a lizard doggo army LOL
but i've mostly taken over power generation so I guess it's fair
I hate exploring so I can imagine your friends appreciate that xD
What alt recipes should I look to get for a turbo fuel plant
I dislike some of the things friendos have done (random foundation bridges in many places) but if it means I don't have to set up motors production for the Nth time I'm fine with it
Pretty much every enemy except 2 of them = Shock rebar + smack with sword.
I get distracted easily so I just run around without realizing how long... Last time was almost 2 hours
you've been playing for 16 hours
Ugh, definately not building a factory here... Managed to barely grab a single sphere. Dissassembled my tractor and death portaled home for the evening.
where at
So from like the middle of the grass fields starting area, directly east a ways is a large lake and the landscape looks like a dried up coral sea. Has like thiord tier wildlife protecthing the nodes and spheres.
Basically the large lake in the southern eastern bit of the map.
oh yeah no from grass fields I recommend expand NW
along the shoreline on the west side
Neat alien landscape 😄 but I need better weapons I think.
you'll likely want to go back there at some point
Not the most satisfying thing to shoot, but it's amazing at killing hatchers.
quick tip the equipment workshop works amazingly as cover and allows you to cheese any kind of hog
? just build a little fort to shoot the hog from
just in general they can mostly be countered by building
it allows you to melee then which is typically faster especially for cliff hogs
Yeah I know. I just meant in terms of the single workshop building.
I kill them from the trees anyway with my rebar gun.
i throw explosives at them
They are in the trees.
It gets really funny to pulsar juggle mobs.
Ah, heh I'll thingk about that. I was using the vehicle to escape the bees as I was trying to blow up the hive. And yeah it's sometimes easy to trap an animal behind a rock or coral outcropping sometimes. I tried hopping on top of the tractor to fight the rhino thing but his new trick was to nose butt rocks at you 😄
alpha spitters can be very easily killed by staying away from them to the point they only do the rapid fire attack and shooting them while dodging
make a small bp with a couple foundations, walls, and a 4m ramp. just poke your head over the wall to chip away at the big hogs
Shock rebars are perfect to bumbrush anything that isn't flying crabs & nuke hogs.
Alphas are so big, easier to hit them even.
i just hit a nuke hog with stun rebar and it disappeared
Stunbar and Basher s tier combo. Knock em out and beat em out
gas nobelisks are hilarious against crabs too. especially the big nests. small nests you can just instagib with a point blank shatter rebar
if you have crazylegs and the parachute or a jetpack and a convenient cliff you can usually trick hogs into throwing themselves off the edge if you time it right. it's only when they're actually running at you though and not the special charge attack that cliff hogs do because that one is actually constrained
Since the old days of bioshock 1. Zap them and smack them. The classic 1-2 punch.
ty!!
Aight, my starter iron & concrete factories officially completed, next up copper xD
Can anyone tell me how many hard drives it takes to unlock all the alternate recipes in phase 1 and 2?
you'd have to look at the parts in phase 1 and 2 in the wiki and look.
you don't need all of them especially just going up the tiers anyway.
just grab a bunch and go
Can someone tell me what's wrong here? I must be bline somehow. #screenshots message 🤔
Nevermind waste output full. 😅
A lot of countries don't have today off in fact
its a holiday?
tomorrow*
Case in point ^
is the one where a bunny tries to lay an egg to see if spring will be early this year?
that's the one
Like I said. It depends on where you live whether today is a holiday or not
well we live in a same country 🙂
but public holiday here is only fri/mon
but kids got thu as school holiday
Odd. Usually they would be countrywide. Although I guess some countries do holidays on a more regional basis cause of their sizes for example
nah you're just confused
Yea I don't know about Sweden. In Denmark today is a public holiday
Just be a good person and become a saint, so everyday is a holyday
Bitch please! I'm already a saint!
😉

I mean with the amount of worse shit other countries tend to put on pizza, pineapple is pretty casual
Pineapple ain't got nothing on potato chips pizza
The point is the psychological damage it creates, not the taste. I'm 69% sure people actually don't care about the taste and simply order it out of spite
The sweet taste of pineapple can do alot to food honestly. I don't have a strong opinion regarding it on pizza specifically, but I made a slowcooker dish the other week with it which gave it a sweet flavour with a hint of pineapple and that was delicious
It's not just that it's sweet, it's the fact that every time you eat it you win a battle for survival that really gives a kick to our brains
||Ananas enzymes actively try to digest us when we eat it, so by managing to eat it we actually win a battle for survival... Against a fruit...||
You should not believe that I actually am, outside of acting like a walkingtipying stereotype :P
if it hasnt been reported and someone wants to report it
ADA's post-unlock dialogue after getting T5 fluid packaging mentions the industrial fluid buffer but you dont get it, you get it with T5 petroleum power
is turbo heavy fuel best if i want to make plastic and rubber additionally?
im not even close to that stage yet
put it in a planner and see. I suspect you'd gain more from doing it with another alt tho
from what im seeing normal turbo fuel recipe is to get turbo fuel with only polymer resin as a byproduct and heavy turbo fuel is to make plastic and rubber additionally
it'll depend on which recipes you're using
Just a shame that rifles are useless as a client 🙃
but heck, a basic test with 200 turbofuel, 100 rubber, 100 plastic uses less oil with turbo blend (and diluted fuel) than turbo heavy does
if you add in HOR and the recycled recipes I reckon that'll tip even more in favour of not using Heavy
hey quick question where is a good place to build like 10 nuclear plants?
ocean
near water
Begging is against the #rules
Find a way to get cash money
jokes are also against the rules
alpacas are also against the rules
I shouldn't probably say this, but IMHO a good education shouldn't get you broke. 🤷 Education should be free, always.
completely unrelated note, wow slooping protien and dna is op
i asked the animals, they didnt have anything to say about that so its probably fine
9 out of 10 animals on Massage 2(AB)b think mobbing is okay.
Do you guy all deal with Lizzard Doggos? I ignore them mostly but try not to scare them.
nope
I sometimes tame one if its near my base, but usually ignroe them
unlike some things
they dont get in the way
I tame them so I can pet them. One of them gave me a nuke. Not sure if that was a yes or a no.
in my current save the first one i tamed got me a nuke as the first item
I took that as a good sign till he bugged on the ground (wasnt moving at all) and i had to.... deal with it
True, in my current playthrough I lifed up my factory from the beginning. Only pillars and miners are on the ground level.
im on stable idk, im not inclined to post it there cuz it might suggest its a new bug
I build factories on support colums, that way the lay of the land doesn't get in the way of construction.
Speaking of animals... my cat woke up and demands food. 😄
is there no way to make it so items get put into my sink only if a container is full
like some type of overflow system
but it only allows specific parts to be filtered
No, look at the generic filters at the top of the filter list
what I used to do until I discovered the existence of Smart Splitter and the sink was just build tons of storage
ooh
nice thanks
no problem
I guess you made a lot of coupons after you finally found out lol
on the contrary - sink anything you have excess of
are we ever going to get a new map
prob not
they overreached making this map
The current map maker is burnt out as it is, maybe as a dlc or a community project is on the cards.
Part of it depends on CSS long term support for the game.
Can I use Satisfactory Calculator inorder for me to clean up some conveyor belts? I mean I need the belts but they are pretty unorganized. Can I organize them with Satisfactory Calculator or smth?
I maxed out the shop around turbo motor time
not really
Anyone playing experimental? The hypertube junction, can it only go left? I haven't managed to right yet. (Pressing E or D) don't work.)
I see, I'm sorry.
Hi peeps
oh they made autocnnect better huh. lets see if it works bcs when you have a stack of belts or pipes you have to nudge it to the farthest possible place or it connects all over the place and cross wires everything it can
waht... 4 hours. shits never taken this long
I'll create a tunnel making guide.
on 1.0 rn, my frames were always pretty consistent between 70-110 on high settings, but out of nowhere my performance just tanked, now even on low settings im getting 45-60 fps
It will be later, my brother was involved in a car wreck, so I'll be checking in on him soonish.
He seems fine, his car though is a write off.
can someone who play in 1.1 tell me what are de dimensins of the elevator please
not the height
juste lenght and wight
I would tell you but I don't play 1.1
Do remind me about the guide creation if needed, I've been quite distracted of late.
Just 8m by 8m, the size of one foundation.
just 1 fondation??
Yep, the floor area is one foubdation.
can you make is bigger tho?
Nope.
not really needed anyway
oh okay thanks👍👍
1 foundation or 8 by 8 m
theres the video they released where you can see the elevator
I know. I even knew the answer. But the question was only to people who play 1.1, which excludes me 🤷
well id still answer bcs atleast id help
I'd rather teach OP to not limit the scope of who can answer 🤷
I downloaded the game again today, but for some reason it runs like trash. I am locked to 1080p only with dx11. Other resolutions are not available and dx12 and vulkan are not selectable.

i wish the hub had an entrance for the conveyor
so i can keep the biofuel generators full
Eh, you're only bound to the HUB burners for a pretty short period of time
The ones you build yourself provide more power per gen anyway (though the fuel-per-MW ratio remains the same)
they also output less power than crafted burners
true, but they still help
hand craft 10 parts. boom. two more generators
its better to get the biomass burners that you can build yourself
those have belt entrances
finally the update downloaded
im guessing the hub generator is 20 and the craftable is 30
also its funy how all the bugs they fixed are all bugs that i came across day before yesterday
dammit i accidentally deleted my copper lines
the crashing, radiotowers, and autocnnect bcs i started playing around with big blueprint stuff
thankfully copper is common
you know you get the parts back in your inventory right?
ye theres no way to lose any items in the game (accidentally)
(ignore flushing and sinking)
my inventory was full
then it spawns a crate in front of you
then there would be a dismantle crate
which you should really empty out some of your crap
1.0 or 1.1?
yes
there's very little that can happen in the game where you lose a resource for ever
hmm sounds similar to the conversation in #satisfactory-experimental
because i dont see the crate 😰
and that's mostly spending items for research
but like i said, at least it was copper
ig dismantle crates got bugged or smth bcs what are the chances you are talking abt full inventory and items being lost and the same thing in the experimentall chanel
if you are running experimental, best to keep it in the right channel

oh ok
guys do trains care if they go from the one side or the other?
wdym?
like'
trainstations requre the engine to be facing the arrow the station shows while building
i have a line
that splits and one goes forward into the station (like the forward) and the other one goes to the back
the train will always go from the back right?
and if you want a train to move back and forth wihtout having to turn then you need 2 engines facing both ways
yes, if i read it corecly
imma send a pic in #screenshots
yes that works
intesrting design choice how it clips right into the rocks
i'm testing it out and i can't find a better spot
- rails are confusing
like brother how do you curve
the train can only ever go in the same direction the station faces
alas, with a lot of bullshit
yes
so i have 2 trains running through the same station, one is a car longer than the other. the shorter one delivers raw material to the factory, the longer one picks up the produced goods, is there a way to have the longer train only take from one station and not have it be unloaded to the factory it doesnt belong at?
its one longer than the other so it doesnt end up putting the finished goods on the raw material train
curves have a minimum radius of about 2.5 foundations so people usually like to go with a 3 wide radius so it lines up with the foundations
there are settigns to only load/unload certain items at each stop in the time table
real life trains can't turn at all, but real trains also can go backwards and don't need a loop
ey sf trains can also go backward. u just need 2 engines
"real trains cant turn"?
but yeah the turning radius of our trains is insane, with those speeds
okay lemme rephrase: a real train can't turn within a 10m radius
builds a train tthat can turn within a 9.8m radius
yeah but then you need switchbacks and the like that you can't really implement in satisfactory
parry that you filthy pioneer
its due to train wheels btw
arent sf traintracks limited to 20m radius or smth close to that
i forget
they are semi cones, designed to sway train onto tracks and turn based on weight and gravity play
think about string with ball on bottom, when you push ball on left it goes to right, its like that
i wonder what the gforces will be for the train turning a usual 24 m radius at its max speed of 120 km/h
but its absolutely correct that train wheels do not turn
I just calculated the centrifugal force
yeah ik i watched practical engineer so totaly qualified (im kidding). but the wheel layout of the sf train is completely diferent
what is it
im not professional with trains as well lol, i just love them and know stuff about it, ferroequinologist is just humor term
At 24m radius 120km/h, 13.8 MN
how many g is that
the layout of the wheels is literally inverted and idk if its tehcnically possible for turning (ignoring junctions and shit)
dam
meganewtons? am i reading that right?
Yes
Almost 5
not great not terrible
F1 territory
rollercoasters go to 4 vertically, 1 laterally
lol
and that's unbanked too
But that calculation is a single engine not pulling anything btw
wouldn't want a load of supercomputers hauling ass like that
So the numbers probably go way up if you add freight into the mix
4.72 Gs?
or radioactive shit
Yeah
ok tested a bit, satisfactory train's wheels do turn, they turn both ways, this concept could work but not efficient, its due to single rail design, if it was two rails it would be like real life as there is less mechincal parts need to mantain for wheels
i mean im surprised the train tracks dont fly off with the train
what saisfactory related keycaps can i print?
You may find some browsing #fan-art
TY but ig last interesting thing there was made by me)
dang, quite a lot, still nothing compared to flying thru a tube at mach fuck
We need a physics nerd to calculate the numbers if its pulling cargo as well :)
ye
is there a way to disable the warning messages every time you start the game?
i was also gonna ask that before but i keep forgetting
Just replied in #satisfactory-experimental
with cargo that'd be like at least 4 more kgs
hell, maybe even 5
someone could do the math. or make a computer sim
#screenshots message @modest mist waw how you make that? new photomode and/or smth else? looks sick
yes new photo mode and end of world color filter
i never know how to mess with the colour filters and settings so i just randomly change things to make it look better like some ai machine learning algorithm but slower and worse
Usually when I see something that can be nice I try a little everything at random and save only the combinations beautiful
Is there any way to automaticly destroy items?
Yes.
Awesome Sink
Combined with a smart splitter set to overflow it will destroy all overflowing items and generate coupons
But it can't destroy every item
Rest needs to be flushed or used in other recipes
Idk if any of the CM are active in chat but will we get a friday stream or not as its a red day tomorow in sweden.
till one of CMs respond i will take the normal awnser of NO we want to have that extra day to the brake.
how much space do you guys like for underfloor logistics?
enuf to fit 3 convways staked is what i do when i use underfloor logistics
are u able to sink fuel canister thingys if they overflow? or only empty ones
you can sink full fuel canisters, but what lead you to that?
don't make them if you don't want them
16m high?
Well it deppends on how many belt you need
im making a nuke nobelisk farm
and im using drones to transport uranium down so i needed fuel canisters but if it uses less fuel than what i make ill sink overflow
#screenshots message yeah its bad but im very early in the game
Guys i'm trying to figure out coal power.
More specifically I'm trying to figure out the formula for how many coal generators I can run and how many water extractors I need to power these.
The numbers I've found while researching so far is the following.
Each generator running at 100% consumes 15 coal per minute. 3 water extractors can feed 8 generators.
Are these numbers still accurate?
yes
why shouldnt I do mk2 pipes
generator consumes 45/min water 45 * 8 = 360 = 120 * 3 water generators
Thank you sir, next question, by my callculations 8 generators need 360 water, but the pipes are limited to 300 how do i get around this?
you use 2 pipes
because they dont do 600/min in long manifolds, its more like 550/min
oh cuz of the fluid dynamics?
yes
L
Cool, next question water tower / water pumps.
From my understanding If i pump a pipe up to a high point, it will never need a pump bellow that point again?
I'm thinking I'm going to build a water tower next to my water source, pump my water up there, and then pipe it down to the generators.
Secondly what how are fluid dynamics implemented in the game?
You can achieve 600 if you set everything up perfectly
yes you split it into 2 x 300/min pipes
I'm thinking I will build this with tolerences in the system, my Idea is that once I get this setup I wont have another power trip from generators running out of fuel...
yeah a water tower is a good idea to buffer some fluid in case ur breaker blows and the coal gens need it
yeah gravity will carry it down
Would you recommend I keep my old biomass generators in the system? from my understanding they will be the last power source to be consumed, ie they will only engage if the coal power is insufficient?
Water towers can only add complexity, not solve for it. Their trade-off comes in as reduced amount of pumps on pipes, which gets better the more pipes you're supplying if you provide headlift with just one pipe.
im unsure about whether the volume of fluid in a particular container contributes to "head lift" so its possible with some bigger fluid containers youd need more pumping to fill em all the way up but im not sure
They are currently setup on a rotating manifold system, where i run aropund gather some wood and leaves and input leaves/wood into two containers, this then get's sent off into a loop that converts them to biomass > solid biomass > feeds generators.
Just tell us you don't know how to do 600/m fluids
no its only the actual y distance, no matter how many buffers w.e. you have
xd
Where can i read up on how fluids behave with distance etc in the game?
#math-and-meta The Pible
Thank you <3
im not far enough in the game but im pretty sure theres a way to segment off some bits of ur grid
u should have biomass gens on standby to power just the water and coal acquisition
if ur grid is monolithic though dont waste your time with backup biomass gens rn cuz theyll just blow a fuse trying to power ur whole grid, then youll have to go find which power lines connect ur station to the grid and temporarily cut em and its a hassle
get some batteries up when u can so u never have to deal with a downed grid
