I am becoming very tired of refineries
And all the recipes that just use blenders are less efficient at scale than the refinery recipes
there arent many recipes that are found in blenders and refineries that make the same part though
except maybe fuels
but there, Diluted Fuel in the Blender is usually more efficient at scale

I destroyed my entire megabase because it was awful and built like 200 hours ago and my game would not save because of how much stuff was there. So I’m not producing aluminum or many of the high tier resources and I’m relying on whatever was stored in the factory. I can’t really add a new mode of logistics right now.
I’m doing all this in the southeast oil field.

Turbo Blend fuel could have saved you a lot of refinery headache due to how fast it makes Turbofuel, but then your oil usage would probably have gone up a bit
I think I can use this recipe. I can’t make bottles but I can just make an entire train bringing nitro from the swamp to my plant. Fluid throughput issues aren’t as bad when you spread it out over 4 cars…. right?

The only waste would be the compacted coal I set up, but it’s all blueprinted so I can easily delete that.
train cars and gas are a bit tricky.
theres a way to make it work but it requires some more in-depth pipe knowledge
buuut i think you can just do one pipe per car with 2 pipe connections, split off from one pipe

I played a lot factorio before I played this game so I have this sickness, you give me a huge nitrogen node in the middle of the map and a recipe to process quartz using that nitrogen? Well of course I need to send 9,000 quartz per minute there. Well shit now I’m making 6000 crystals and if I don’t use those then my silica won’t be produced. Well the only option is to make SIX HUNDRED CRYSTAL OSCILLATORS per minute. But that’s gonna need a lot of power and I’m only making 30MW, time to dedicate an entire biome to fuel processing and generators for 300MW and hope that’s enough for a while.
I don’t think the console version can handle my ambitions and it is extremely depressing
Oh. Nitro rocket fuel uses too much sulfur. So that’s not gonna work
a tip for Quartz Purification:
If you only need Silica OR Quartz, using their dedicated alt recipes (Pure Quartz, Cheap Silica) is better than Quartz Purification
especially if you need them in differing ratios

Guys I started a factory with satisfactory tools, abondened it for over a month and now I have no idea what I wanted to make. There is bauxite and rubber, but also copper. Does anyone know what this is?

I have a question if anyone has the answer. i am trying to buy satisfactory on my PC on the XBOX app but when i search the game it just comes up with no results. i have the game on steam already. if i search it on a console it comes up fine. does anyone knowwhy i cant buy the game one my PC in the XBOX app?
The only real missables are the collect so many of a item by this I mean somersloops, mercer spheres, and maybe hard drives depending on actively the people your playing with are looking for items like these
I was wondering that too about the golden nut. Me and a friend are almost there, and we where worried about us both getting the achievement. I was gonna do a hard save before one of us bought it just in case.
Oh yeah forgot about the nut, but yes that would be the best way to do it I mean world I have I bought the nut for my achievement but then realized should of done this for a friend worst case scenario will get enough coupons for them but the grind is crazy after first 1200 I mean last time I checked my sink ballpark of 100 mill points per ticket and the bad part since rebuilding a lot of stuff only avging 1 mill points per minute for now
I think it's because that requires it to be sold in the microsoft store, and it's currently only for sale on pc via steam or epic (and technically via humble bundle, but that's only cos it gives you a choice of steam or epic key)
It sucks that due to the bug Im encountering, I can't go far into the game in general

It's slowed my progress with the space elevator
Yeah I've had the same issue for roughly the same amount of time
I think it was from a patch they made back then when I started to experience it
I think it's an issue with how many items are in the world that are being rendered
I'm not really sure honestly but I've noticed that stopping whatever I'm doing and just standing still and looking at the ground has helped some
I did everything from uninstalling, reinstalling, deleted my original 150 hour build, clear the games data
Yeah it's really annoying because I'm pretty close to the finish line and just can't progress any further

Yall I'm in a bit of a pickle and I need yalls help
So I have 3 factory locations, my main one is near my space elevator and hub and it makes basic early game mats like plates and stuff, I have another factory thats focused on making rotors and steel related equipment, I have a third factory related to copper related equipment
Problem is I'm not sure what to do with my main factory because I need to transport stuff to the space elevator
And I've been a bit lost in where to build my next factories next that are related to processors and phase 2 related materials
by the sound of it you should be able to belt them from the machines making the parts you need unless your elevator is on one side of the map and the materials being made are on the other but you did say that factory is near you elevator....i mean worst case scenario you can manually feed the elevator if belting would make your area look like a bowl of spaghetti
what materials do you see are your next target for when you start that phase

i mean early days yeah you will be doing remaking alot of the times but until you get oil processing which is next phase your almost at its only so many things that you really have to remake
There is a lot of resources. Its more efficient to leave the old factory and build a new one and have both.
I understand wanting to rebuild something you think can be better. But this can lead to burnout and feelings of repetition as you are taking steps backwards.
Very true, think its learning, is but can get burned out quickly, on my 6th restart and ive already given a name and at maybe 100hrs total 🤣 such a noob 🤣 im loving the game and thru those trials and errors, my factory setup has gotten more streamlined but in comparison to my last, im not covering as much distance due to the burn out of having to travel far, even with a truck, I need trains 🤣

Back tracking kills any drive i have. I thought i lost 100 hours last night due to a steam cloud issue. luckily i made a back up on monday so it was only 8 hours. But even then......losing eight hours for me is huge, I rarely turn on the game unless i have a detailed plain of what i am going to do. I have a plan with all the math and layouts generally don so i just need to do the work

Hey everyone. I'm playing on console since a while and while i am construction something in a tunnel, 2 trucks have disapeared. The map say that they are there but not able to see them. Any clues ?
I've seen various reports that vehicles on console can end up falling through the ground, alas -- something that I'd thought was patched up awhile ago but maybe the console version has a regression
At the moment there's honestly probably not much to do except just create a new vehicle, alas.
is there a way to "hover" the nodes that show up on the map to see if they are normal or pure or whatever? with mouse and keyboard you just mouse over them 🤔

Yes, if it works its apparently worth it.
Just be careful, if you do Xbox and PS crossplay theres a chance you might be affected by a nasty bug where that just straight up wont work

just to give you a heads up Megafactory is generally looked at as all part creation is in one place. if you have more then one factory its not a megafactory.

Make sure they leave from a point that won't be in the way. Otherwise you're stuck with them unless they add a way to kick. 😔

You can kill their offline body and take their stuff from the crate they drop, their body will despawn and when they join again they'll just spawn in the hub.
I had to go kill one of my friends who was logged out because he had all of the mercer spheres on him.
How do you kill them though. All I have is the Xeno Zapper right now and it doesn't seem to do anything to them.
Players have a lot more health than enemies, it takes a few more hits to kill a player than it does a normal enemy. Or even just spend a bit of time to unlock the rebar gun.

Is late game possible on PS5?
You know, as in does the game function OK or does it get to the point that it crashes every 20 mins and runs at 15 fps
Not sure if this helps at all but I’m currently on Tier 4 on an Xbox series S (a little less powerful than the PS5) and my game runs perfectly fine

It's just that I've got experience with late game cities skylines and late game Transport fever 2
Those two games absolutely throttle the loving fuck out of the ps5 cpu and eats up the ram like hell.
And concidering this game simulates a metric ton of product moving around, it worried me if I can even complete the game on the ps5 sinde the late game production gets insanely complex from what I know.
And... well, I don't want to push the GPU either since my ps5 is showing its design failure in the form of GPU artefacting (liquid metal cooling fails over time if the ps5 is vertical and unfortunately i dont have the space to place it horizontal), at least I saw it when playing no mans sky, so I don't wanna damage my system.
I’ve also made it to the late game of cities skylines and I can totally relate with the game playing really slow. I believe satisfactory is really well optimized with objects outside of a certain distance not technically “rendering” but they still function if that makes sense.
That makes me super happy then honestly
Cuz I'd love to get to the very late game with this with megafactories that are extremely complex. Plus I adore detailing so I'm sure I'll spend a ton of processing power on polygons by just building the factory buildings themselves.

Everyone hyped the hover pack and I can see why but after a few hours of setting up a factory, I had to turn off the vibrations. They’re nasty. Plus the inertia is annoying and I wish I could turn it off as I drift off alignment all the time when building.
Is there anyway if you accidentally run out of power and fall in water whilst building, to get out without walking ashore somewhere? I just get stuck in the build menu when I try to get out.

The inertia definitely takes some getting used to. Over time you develop the reflexes to account for it, though!

If you are planning to build a bigger factory I do not recommend it on xbox.
It is 2nd time I am having issues with saving the game due to object limits. This time I have avoided placing anything from architecture and went a bit further but stucked in phase 5.
So far I saw several people reporting this issue and no information from developers if they are planning to fix it
Since the game is not free to play you’ll need Xbox live to play online. I haven’t played multiplayer so I’m not sure how well it performs

I rather go big, but not as big as some of the people. Total power useage was a bit over 150 GW and just started with time shards.
I had main megafactory and few larger outpost (for example one of the letest one was producing around 7k aluminium ignots per minute).
I will be fair - it is still prabably over 200 hours of a play before you will reach it, so it is still worth to have that experiance with your nephew. I hope they will solve it before you will reach it.

Well my fellow console players, i have a conundrum.
I'm paving over blue crater lake for a turbo fuel plant.
I did all the math, figured out what recipes I'm gonna need/use (there's some alts involved) and how many fuel generators I'm gonna run. (60 gens using turbo fuel).
The conundrum? While paving the lake i noticed random frame rate drops. So now I don't know if my xbox can handle it and I'm worried it's either gonna crash my whole save or make the location unusable unless i scale it back.
Is down scaling pretty much a must for us console players or can i have big grandiose factories? I've been operating out of my starter factory for most of my play through (this is my first btw) and just completed the research for nuclear power and have access to pretty much EVERY alt recipe (that i currently can have anyway) thanks to a couple of very extensive hard drive hunts.
TLDR; building a big factory and even with just the super structure I'm noticing performance hiccups. I haven't even built a machine here yet
Are you on a PlayStation or an Xbox X or S? I have an X and am at a similar stage and just did a 200+ refinery with my auto saves just getting a bit more noticeable but no other issues so far. I’m not techy though.

I've small/medium factories spread out plus my rebuilt starter and the big refinery but only a few decorated ones and haven't noticed it dropping yet.
I built 160 fuel plants on ps5 and was a little low frames wise but worked fine

It should be fine. My old world had some mega sized produciton lines. And my new one has an insane amount of asthetic buildings. And it still ruins fine

Nitrogen has broken my brain!
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone can help me wrap my head around pipes, blenders and rocket fuel. I've done loads of research but I'm probably not looking in the right places. Just a question or two to get me unstuck.
I'm sending nitrogen down hill in the Blue Crater part of the map to where the oil patch is across a waterfall. The pipe appears to be close to 600 meters. Every section seems to have differing fill rates and amounts. The pipes indicator flanges(?) all are full but where the pipe hits the blender that section shows pulsing flow rates up to 200. The blender also works on and off and sits around 15%. Anyway everything is kinda of working but I just dont know how to test or evaluate pipes and gas. Some of the section flow rates are 1 - 10m at any time and kess the 50m full on a mk2 pipe.
Is there a way to test the piping at the end? The best testing I've done is with a lone industrial fluid container at the end. Any help or pointing me to a guide would be appreciated, TIA
Oh gosh, I answered my own question. When I said end of the line.... it was at the end of one extractors up the hill by the nitrogen. I immediately thought when I wrote my question I never tried the actual end.... at the Blender. So I hooked the pipe up to an industrial container at the blender and could see a 600m flow. So my pipes are good.
So my inefficiencies are between the turbofuel and blender not the gas. Seems like I could setup like 5 blenders if I wanted (I dont).

gas has no head lift. so no pumps needed. I suggest no fluid buffers as the play havoc.
let all you lines fill completely before turning on machines this will help achieve max flow
Yeah. I started bottling the Nitrogen and using drones to my main factory blender for fused frames. Built a whole blasted battery factory. Then I got to Rocket fuel and everything changed prepping for greater power needs.
So I understand sloshing and buffer issues and I think that kept from testing one at the very end of the pipeline. But as I come to think more about gas what I really needed was something to draw it from the source and the industrial fluid buffer was a perfect test for a large immediate draw at the end of my pipeline just before getting into my factory. I now know I can pull the maximum non-overclocked amount from my pure nitrogen field.
I think the confusion is looking at individual pipe sections. I need pressure rates not amount rates. Flow rates only make sense if the flow is continuous. I'm not sold on buffers being a problem just yet but I did see after the buffer was filled it lost some amount of volume (20-30m) periodically causing some sloshing.

Apparently there’s a build limit on console I seem to have just hit, and once you hit it you cannot save your game. I have 500 hours in now and it’s all wasted, if this is indeed what’s causing the issue
there is a build limit on PC as well just they can manipulate there limit unlike us but the baseline is like 2.1 milllion+ objects
There’s no warning given at any point, this is the frustrating part - just at some point, boom, your game is done because you’ve hit an invisible limit
It sounds like a massive limit, but you could only use about 10000 on actual buildings and machines - then the rest is eaten up in the background with pipes, foundations etc
I know about that, it can definitely be annoying, but to be fair the game is about under 10gb on console so far, so maybe if they eventually double the object limit, it might work? I know there is a work around on pc, but It might corrupt the save file

at the moment there is no way nor have they revealed if it would be ever possible. the issue is the filing system on consoles.
I think you basically have to assume you'll never be able to dl bps for console
There is a lot of work done to optimize the number of objects in the game, so it's impossible to make a 1:1 comparison between what you build and in-game objects
Eg: placing 2 foundations (not touching) may count as adding 2 objects to the game; zooping 2 foundations (in comparison) may count as just one; same as zooping 10.
In other words: if you take the engine's limits into account (the limit is set by game engine by default iirc) you can choose designs that greatly cut down on how many objects your game actually has to handle (other than more obvious solutions like overclocking and not being "wasteful" in logistics and vehicle usage etc)
The actual objects - foundations, trains, buildings all make sense.
What is a pipe? Or a conveyor belt, or a train track? What length of any of them is “one” object?
It is completely impossible to actually plan anything in this game without knowing these
They are aware of that issue with being unable to save if the save file gets too big and it is worked on

Is there any word from the developers on a fix release for it, or is it just whenever? It’s probably the most major flaw I’ve found on this game, everything else is more of a quirk - but to sell the game to people that has a fake file save limit size and prevents people actually playing it is a massive problem. I don’t know how they’re still selling this game on console when it quite literally always ends up broke
No matter what you do on console, if you want to keep playing it/building, it will eventually stop saving.
On PC the game just crashes when it hits limits.
Either by hitting UObject limit, or running out of RAM & swap.

But if anything that would probably be wrapped up together with 1.2 because apparently you cant make smaller patches

And those Xbox S specific autosave issues are almost certainly about the console running out of RAM.
As S only has 8GB, shared as Game RAM and VRAM.
And 2GB of slower OS RAM.
Where on PC, you need minimum of 4GB of VRAM, and classically 8GB of RAM was seen as minimum.
4+4GB can run the game at smaller saves now on PC.
As result of lot of optimizations to RAM usage.
But PC UObject limit hitting saves used to need 32+GB of RAM, 16GB of RAM would run out and start swapping long before.
I got so frustrated but the more I understand about it all, the more I realise it’s an unreal engine issue and not coffee stain
I suppose this does help me breathe fresh life into the game - I was definitely being incredibly wasteful and building a huge city - time to spend days deleting and optimising before progressing further 😀
Udating the Console experience is a pain point for CSS they are also frustrated. I have faith they are doing the best they can with the restrictions they have. Console players will likely get a monster bug update come 1.2.
Absolutely - this is honestly my favourite game I have ever played, and I’m 34! They’ve done an incredible job with it
Especially making it work on console, even bothering to try is to their credit, but it works amazingly well
if you want to help (spread the word too) They do most of there bug and feedback on the QA website. upvoting similar issues there is the best way to get attention. As well as making new reports and request. They have been stressing during community streams that everyone should leave input there not on discord or redit

To be fair though, as far as I’m aware they’re well aware of the issue, and are actively working on fixes - there’s not a lot can be done on their end apart from optimisations - now that I know the problem lies with unreal engine and not them, I’ll not pester them with something they know of and are also limited by

Lumen is Epics own raytracing solution in Unreal Engine 5.
With SW (GPU shaders) and HW (GPU RT-HW) versions, and PC Satisfactory has that unofficial SW Lumen support.
HW Lumen cannot deal with the amount of objects in Satisfactory so isn't implemented.
But consoles just couldn't deal with the extra load and it was left out even in unofficial form.

Not at all - I built a huge sky city that looks like a circuit board - trains upon trains upon trains, each area making something to shift on. But I filled the whole thing in with a 6x6 blueprint. Now that I am realising about the limit, even if it’s 1000x1000, I’ve wasted about 1,000,000 objects on foundations - a majority of which are filler!
I cannot stress enough how much I love this game
I was literally about to cover the entire world with a city above it, lots of wasted space that is easily deleted now that it’s basically constructed

Hi all... so I'm doing something accidental or wrong where there are times my refineries and blenders kind of stop doing work and just go idle. There really doesnt appear to be a resource constraint because If I go into the machines menu and select the recipe again it starts working.... but eventually goes idle again. I'm missing something.... thoughts? Thanks.

I think somehow Im overloading the turbofuel with compacted coal. I'm feeding it an external source and the byproduct of the rocket fuel. I have both sources inputing to a large storage container and that buffer filled stoping the rocket fuel from being made... Originally the rocket fuel wasnt making enough compacted coal and now Ive added an external source so Im feeding it too much. My brain is broke.... lol
I have theory... but it will take a second to see. By adding the external compacted coal to the input of the turbo fuel and causing a back up so much the rocket fuel goes idle because it cant offload it's coal into the line.... after a period of time my fuel generators might be turning off because no rocket fuel is being made. Not totally sure but by getting rid of some of the coal in the buffer things seem "stable"...
Can you do a bypass train line? Like so if a rail already had a train there it would take another rail that was empty that reached the same destination?
Okay slight problem. I have two trains on a looped track with signals coming out of the stations, but on the main track going in between the two stations only one train will go at a time...
What the heck did I do wrong? Do I have to put block and path signals all the way down?
Update, I ran pathing signals down both sides of the train and it seems to be working but is that the only way to get this to work?
Ok don’t flame me me I am going to leave room to improve apon it when I get mixers later in the game but for my first time making a power plant on this scale I have prepared 18 lines worth of 300ml oil going to what will be 18 heavy oil residue to alternate dilited fuel for 81000MW before I commit to it is there any advice or recommended alternatives before I make it
I have made about 3 of these before on my first attempt at the game but noticed almost immediately after finishing them that I was running on power shortage issues from not having enough power production I’m using the packaged fuel design in this video of course modified for the updated generator consumption/output

As of now there is no way for that due to how data is saved on console maybe one day but probably gonna be awhile if they do ever allow this

I watch totalxplise and some of his blueprints are in his videos which sometimes he shows how to do. Most of his blueprints are on his Patreon which does help me considering I cant use them. Hence why I said what I said
To be fair, building new blueprints with each save is essentially the intended experience
Why play the same game each time? Building new blueprints lets you evolve and iterate your builds, etc. The fact that PC players can copy blueprints around is sort of a side effect, not an intended feature. :)
(Which is, more or less, why there's no "native" way to move blueprints between saves)
I agree that it'd be nice for console users to have some way to copy blueprints if they want, though

i mean not super upset that cant move them admittingly 800+ hrs one world so no room to complain until start a new world when 1.2 starts but yeah if i had the choice of bp save transfer or ability to say see hd, slugs, object limit, and all that similar to how PC can drop there save file on the satisfactory calculator site i would for sure take the later rather see data on stuff then have bp transfers unless i somehow got some crazy bps to work that would fill the overall space of a mk3 bp designer lol
(Or used someone else's blueprint, for that matter -- that feels just icky to me. I don't quite understand that impulse, though to each their own)

How much deco you can do is entirely dependent on how many fps you want
Do people use caterium or aluminium for making ficsite ingots which ore is more commonly used

Depends what resources you currently value the most, as with most alt recipe choices! Which may vary considerably depending on where you're building the factory (hence why I'd ended up using all three)
the Aluminum version is the most SAM efficient, but obviously uses up Aluminum to do so, which makes it the most complex production chain (and, if you value Bauxite more than SAM, potentially the most expensive)
Iron+Caterium are simpler production lines but aren't as SAM-efficient
As always with alt recipes, there isn't a "better" or "worse," there's just "recipes which are appropriate for a specific situation" and "recipes which aren't as appropriate for that specific situation"
I should maybe also mention that when I say I used all three, it wasn't because I was indecisive or regretted my decisions or anything
It was just that I was building Ficsite in various factories, as the need came up, which meant that there was often a different selection of "local" nodes to choose from
I admit there was also an element of merely Wanting To Try Them All Out™, since Ficsite was part of the new production lines added in 1.0. But I don't think that angle affected my recipe choices in any significant way

several months out. 1.1 took 3 months to come to main branch. 1.2 is much bigger and has way more bugs. so i expect a long experimental timeline.

Wasent asking as a complaint and I’m fine with the answe of its going to be a few months likely but who knows. Mainly asked incase there has been a projected target date set and it was in a week. Because didn’t want to spend hours setting up a factory when daisy chain is coming in a week but few months out I’ll get her done.

Hey all! Since this week me and a friend have started playing Satisfactory (on Xbox). Now my friend has started a world so we can play together, now we are contemplating to make it a hosted server, so we can play when the other isn't online. Now I was wondering if it is possible to transfer this world we have now, to be the world for a hosted server. That way we won't lose our progression. Is this possible, and if so, any advice on where to host, and how we can do this?
I don't think console can host dedicated servers
Of course, you could always make an alt account and have it AFK the game forever
If you have a secondary console system, if not I don't see why one person couldn't leave a console on during the day with the world up.

My TV has a 4hr timer till it shuts off, if the TV goes off my system goes off, as well as the system turn off settings, leave it on till the nearest time runs low and show some activity and walk away again

Although trouble shooting will likely drive you nuts. Backwash, sloshing, and such become issues over long distance

I accidentally drove an explorer into one of the big bottomless void pits by the plains biome. Is there anyway I can destroy or recover the explorer? Or is the marker for the explorer just always going to be there now?

Mk 2 pipes only do 600/min.
Distributing the oil to machines is no problem with junctions you can input more than 600/min into a pipe network and have it work.
But the supply to that has to be at minimum 2 pipes if its more than 600/min fluid
You would need to supply the fluid to that manifold from both ends.
Though theres some more nuance to that

Anyone else encounter error code CE-100002-3 on PS5? I was just playing and the servers refreshed and it caused a crash. And now whenever I load or save the game it pops up with this error and claims one of my save files is corrupted. I'm still able to save and load from them, but every autosave now brings up this error. Anyone know how to fix this?

I mean, I can still access the save file so I could still play it, it'd just be hell to deal with that error code every time I want to save. I'd have to turn off autosaves but even that is not optimal because those autosaves have been useful quite a few times.

I did find something on some forum that it might be due to an object limit cap or something. But I'm not sure where i found that

I've also heard that it's something to do with corrupt files. But I already deleted all my old save files and made new saves. But I think that just made sure the new ones were corrupted
Even a complete database rebuild couldn't fix this
So now it's referencing a save file that doesn't exist. It keeps saying that autosave_0 has a problem, even though I deleted all my autosaves hoping that'd fix the corruption.

On PC the game will not show corrupt saves... But you can delete them via OS.
And console version probably also contains that filter code...
But on consoles you cannot deal with any saves that are invisible inside the game...
So the save is still there, just invisible.
And there is no way currently to deal with it except nuking all the game stored data, including all other saves, from the console settings...
Playing until that specific autosave gets overwritten might work.
If possible.

i rely on color coding for pipes
Mostly power for me, I have my turbo grid line and another for coal
I have a main grid using power towers and Train stations then Every facility comes off of those into a power priority switch that is labeled. this allows me to segregate my power grids while it is still one big grid
I was thinking of that when I go nuclear, ATM my coal just powers trains/truck stops

I started in desert and I've ended up building near the water for coal. Got power towers bringing it's to the relevant area (also out of mind as I don't need to touch it for now) currently making 2700 just for trucks and trains

I have got it to rotate by snapping, RB, and putting it over an existing foundation then using the Dpad sides to click round.
You can do the same as a PC 5 degrees this way.

Hello Also, I’ve had some power issues at home (power cuts), and Satisfactory tells me that all my saves are dated before the time when I didn’t yet have the game and it hadn’t been released yet.
im not a console player, but i say try use the most recent save, whatever that date might be, and if its your most recent one, keep playing on it and itll update to the correct time when it autosaves

Want to know if there’s a better fix or anyone running into this. Really the only person who has offered helping hand in my world with decent skill just about every time he joins I have to kill him. Because he’s stuck loading untill it fails and I have to reset him to hub. At first I thought it was due to factory sizes but seems it’s no matter what.

It's been a slow progression for over the last month. It at 1st was just general lag for the client and less so for the host. Over the last week however, it's been consistent crashing frequently with some strong lag spikes. As of today, the world will crash on multi-player whenever it autosaves.
The last part didn't happen until we finally completed phase 3 tonight

I've not encountered that issue (only crashed once). Mine was for friends joining my world, they would occasionally get a error joining but I think it's related to my nat type

I would say around mid way into phase 3 is when lag issues started to appear btw after I had build a few bigger factories.

My main bit of advice is to not have a "main base" in general. Whenever you need something new, make a whole new factory for it, from ore->product
For late game products that might be difficult to have all in one location; I'll often have "sub-factories" linked together for some of that, but for ease of planning/building, it's all still isolated from any other production line
The other part of that is that when I'm deciding how much to make of something, it's basically only for my own personal build-gun use. How quickly do I want that storage to fill up?
Then when some other factory needs more of that resource, it just makes more right inside that new totally-isolated factory (which, indeed, may have one or more subfactories)
It's an easier mindset to get into earlier in the game when production chains are simpler, though IMO it pays dividends in the late game especially

on console if you're on xbox the half nudge is your right joystick and you use the D-pad and i think the direction matters
Not sure exactly what you mean, but via the MAM you can unlock a "Smart Splitter" which lets you define what goes on which output. One of the options there is "Overflow" -- so you can have all material go out via one exit, and then once that fills up, the material starts going to the Overflow output
Me and my friend can't join eachother, I'm on Xbox he's on PS5. Epic Games knows we are friends because when we tried to unadd and add eachother back, we got in game notifications, we are both sure we have everything right

I probably shouldn't have used excess I was just wondering if there was a way to produce a material, for example screws, I was wondering if there was a way to have them be split to go into a storage container and then the other half go into an assembler but I think I'll just worry about it once I progress further into the game. Right now I'm just trying to understand manifolds if you're able to help with that
So yeah, if you've got something (like Screws) on a belt, you can send that belt into a splitter. The splitter's got three outputs -- you can hook belts up to as many of those as you want
So if you have two "outgoing" belts, then the splitter will send one Screws down one belt, then the next Screws down the other (so long as there's room), back and forth
So long as neither belt "clogs up" then each output would be getting 50% of the total Screws going into the splitter
If you hooked up all three belts and none of them clog up, then each output would get a third of the Screws going in
So, indeed, you could have one of those belts going to an Assembler, and another belt going to a storage container
As for a manifold, that's all actually quite apropos. A manifold is just when you've got a line of machines which all need the same resource, and you just put a single splitter in front of each one and send the resource "down the line"

At first, when it first starts up, the machine at the front is getting "too much" material, and the ones further down are getting too little. The first one's getting 50%, and all the others have to share the remaining 50%
But the magic happens becasue the input buffer on the first machine fills up pretty quickly, 'cause it can't handle that full 50% of the belt. Once that happens, the belt going into the machine clogs up too
And then, when the splitter can't send more material into that first machine, it gets sent down the line instead
So now it's the next machine getting too much material, so it will clog up, and so on. After awhile, everything in the manifold is getting exactly what it needs! (So long as you're sending in enough material, and your belts are fast enough. :)
Note that the last two machines in a manifold will generally have hardly anything in their input buffers; they'll be getting just exactly what they need; it's all the ones up until then which will end up with full input buffers
And you can repeat this right? Like have different manifold machines producing different stuff (like iron rods and screws) as long as they all have they require the same input/source?

is there somewhere to go to see whats the best alternate recipe decisions? i found my first one its wet concrete vs the modular frame (but i hear you should try to go screwless in a factory) theres also a reroll option, it says only one reroll i dont know if thats in total or per hard drive
The reroll is per hard drive. If you don't like either of the two choices you're offered at first, you can always hit reroll to get a different 2 choices. You've got that option for every hard drive you scan
As for what to choose, though: alt recipes are all about giving you options while building. There's no "good" or "bad," though there are recipes which are more specialized than others. But they're all at least situationally useful
So you trade one resource for another, or you trade complexity for resource efficiency, etc, etc
There are more hard drives on the map than you can use -- if you keep up with exploration you can unlock literally all recipes and have hard drives to spare
So my advice is always to just flip a coin and pick one at random if you're not sure. Then when you're building you'll have those extra tools in your toolkit to help build the next factory
(In the interests of even-handedness: other folks will recommend you just keep the drives unredeemed in your library if you're not sure now, so you can go choose them later. IMO that's a strategy which could work for an experienced player who's already familiar with the recipes and knows what they want to do with any given factory, but not good for folks still getting used to the game. Just redeem and Go Find More Drives™ is my advice. :)
Oh, and as for screws: screws are fine! Don't avoid them just because they're screws. If you've got a production line that you like which happens to omit screws, then sure, go ahead and do that
But don't avoid them just because they're screws. One thing that really helps with screws is to make them right in front of the machine which needs them, rather than trying to make them in one area and then routing them around. Slow belts + high-throughput resources == pain. If you avoid moving them around your factory, you'll have a better time. :)

hi, i finally found a water source for the water miner thingy for coal, however i used a tractor to get there and when i step off it says something about radiation...?
do i have to further progress through the game for radiation or is there other water sources in non-radiated areas? (if they exist?)
Idk about radiation as I haven’t got that far yet but there are other water sources that aren’t radiated
Rocky desert is a good biome as it has coal nodes right next to water
im in grassland

Yeah, radiation on the map is actually pretty rare -- there are a lot of spots on the map with coal+water which don't have any radiation around
If you're looking for spots for coal power, my advice would be to make sure you've got a spot which has 3-4 coal nodes right next to decent-sized bodies of water. Makes your life much easier
Make the power plant right there next to both the coal+water.
There's a few spots that are good from that which are north/northwest from Grass Fields. May be a bit of a hike to get there, but you can just drag power poles behind you

You're not obligated to follow that encouragement, of course, but IMO it makes for much easier building in the long run

Yeah, just power poles are fine. You can unlock "Power Towers" in the MAM I think, which are a bit easier for long-range power cabling, though I think you need steel for those

If you've got any in your inventory be sure to get it out quick!
(Note that there's a weird bug where if you sort your inventory with radiaoctive material in it, and then drop the material, you'll remain radioactive in that session. A save/reload gets rid of that)
I don't think I have the bug, I just sorted my inventory so my deathbox just has the uranium in it
Also, I found a water source deep enough but theres no nodes nearby and its like 500 ish meters away from main base, is it best to just continue to find a source with coal nodes?
Keep searching! The "best" spots for coal power tend to be about 1km away from the usual grass fields start. :)

oh another quick question, since coal will be more power efficient and it'll be better to build up new factories there, should i move the space station near it?
Up to you! You can move around the Space Elevator and HUB all you want without losing progress, so if you want to move them, go for it

hello again! i have a question about building vertically? theres 4 iron nodes about two mountains up from where my water extractor and stuff is, am i supposed to build the factories on top of the mountain then just connect with power lines (if you can do that vertically) or am i supposed to use conveyor lifts to bring it all down to the 'floor'?

You mentioned a water extractor. From this i tookj you are going to use Pure Iron. which is a recipe that takes iron ore and water to make iron ingots. This makes 1.8 ingots for every one ore. The base recipe is one ore = one ingot

either is valid, its a sandbox game. You could place the miners then bring the ore half way down the mountain and make a factory that perched in the mountian side

the game is mostly built upon your choices. This makes every playthrough diffrent. Choosing a Different recipe means different costs and resources put in. this compounds of the course of the game making evry playthrough unique

so it functions by making sure your belt input for the manifold is equal or higher then the parts needed. each machine will overflow then onkly except what it needs per cycle sending hte remaining amounts to the next machine and so on
