Piping can be a bit difficult in the game; if an 8:3 coalgen:extractor setup was starving on water, then there was probably some subtle pipe problem somewhere

That said, good thing that some overclocking apparently fixed your setup. :)

(Also: I honestly wouldn't recommend just blindly following rando Youtubers' videos for stuff; they often do things that could be considered mistakes, or are otherwise misleading (or even omit important info). Just because you followed a Youtube guide, even completely accurately, doesn't mean you'll necessarily end up with a working system)

So uhh, I became a little fuel mad. My closest crude oil deposits were 1500m away and its horrible terrain to try and long distance pipe over so I decided to make a rail for it. I jave 20 refineries there making fuel. My train deliveres a full 3 tanks every minute or so. This all gets converted to turbo fuel that then fuels a current 25 fuel generators.

I jave made it as a stackable design above my station area mext to my main base so in short, I can make a greenhouse gas machine from turbo fuel that can overproduce power to whatever degree I decide

There's no one "creative" setting, but you can load a save with "Advanced Game Settings" enabled, which lets you do various cheaty things (it also disables achievements for the save)

Stuff like No Build Cost and No Power Required, and fly mode, etc. Can give yourself any arbitrary items, etc

So question for those of you that have done all phases of the space tower.

Is it easier and or better to have separate sites throughout the world to make the various parts needed for those space tower phases and then just grab em and ship them up?

Reason I ask is because in my new save I'm planning to have my first three basic factory buildings for iron, copper, and limestone production, later on probably add a fourth for steel production, and once I unlock hyper tubes again, I'm thinking it'd be easier to make those parts needed in vast quantities for various space tower phases at various different sites connected with hypertubes to get around.

I feel it'd be easier instead of risking spaghetti nightmares trying to shove it all into one giant home base.

And with fluid trucks coming eventually as was teased it just might be worth doing it.

Kibitz is difficult to replicate cuz he builds at such massive scale.

But like you should try figure out what you want your factory to produce, and then split that stuff up into floors, and then you can make rooms in each floors if you wanna make it super organised. Imo mega factories are all about planning effectively

• Large alu ingot producing plant (considering shipping over all bauxite for it)

And then don't know for space elevator parts yet.. Although I will either try to produce extra of the other factories and drone/train over the materials for it, or set up dedicated production lines for it

I don't see how this would be possible, as overflow only works when something is "blocked", i.e. dimensional depot is already full and cannot upload more. So I would just suggest you have a dimensional depot for each item you are uploading

There is an option to disable "seasonal events" in the game menus, so if you'd ended up checking that box, may want to doublecheck that

You get different drive for each.
The recipe is there just because in previous years people lost or trashed stuff gotten from the calendar, locking them out.

That's actually not a console-specific thing. Items dropped on top of nodes/wells can often end up effectively un-pick-uppable 'cause the node/well hitbox overlaps it and takes precedence

Has anyone actually built a working hyper tube cannon on console? I’ve gone through 7 different build styles and none will work, if you do get the entrances in a line once through 1 the next stops you dead and ejects you out, so no way to get the speed needed let alone actually launch from the end

Can someone help me? I started playing with a friend, but now I haven't been able to join his server for two days. Our settings are the same; we have the same game version. I've reinstalled the game, reset the PS5 database, cleared the cache, and turned off crossplay, but nothing works. We're both PS5 players. We tried him joining my server, but he gets the same error message. It just says he wants to join my game, but nothing happens. It restarts immediately and lands back in the main menu. It just says there's a connection error.

According to Epic's status page, everything is fine; all servers are running green.

That status page has been mostly useless over the years.

Most outtages never make it there.
And Epic also seems to like to deploy insufficiently tested code to EOS production, causing issues for small subsets of games.

Longest outtage for Satisfactory was over a month couple of years ago.
Until Epic actually investigated and fixed issues on their end.
Prevented cases where both sides had 192.168.x.x IPs from connecting to each other.
Just the most common by large margin IP range for consumer routers to use for the local network inside NAT...

EOS just didn't bother to pass any determined public IP in those case to the other side for connection attempt during that month...

And that kind of thing has been way too common over the years with EOS.
Weekly localized issues.
Monthly global issues.

Usually 1-24h for those localized versions, 1-4 hours for global.

With that month long case being the longest I know of, where they deployed bugged code to production and took weeks to even start investigating.

Without finding the number hidden in the picture and clicking on it.

If you look very closely, you will find numbers 1-25 hidden in the picture, each being advent calendar door that can be opened on same or later date as the number.
And the box is just to skip finding the hidden numbers.

They seem to do some of that stuff via holding down things; like holding down d-pad is how you change ammo types while ingame, and getting the name of the item needed for MAM unlocks is holding the stick to the right (or something)

So I'd recommend trying some combinations of those. (I clearly don't know in particular, but I'm guessing it involves holding something down. :)

Remember that you can look up the recipes for any resource by searching for it in the codex. On PC, you can use o to open the codex directly, or n for a search bar. (Not sure what the console equivalents are)

Search for "tree branch", click on it, and it'll show you the recipe, including what machine it's made in

I would go so far as to say produce as-needed for literally everything -- IMO "centralizing" resource production is a lot more hassle than it's worth

If you've already made some of Resource X but a new factory needs more of it, just make more right inside the new factory, is my advice

Early game as needed, my smelters feed my constructors during the mid game I start to separate my smelting from my production, floor 1 smelters, floor 2 constructors.

As you get faster belts it's easier to separate them and blueprints you can paste a smelting factory in one click

(Later in the game with more complex parts it will end up making sense to ship various parts around, but even then I recommend doing a "dedicated" sub-factory type thing for it, rather than taking them from a more general pool)

You can open any day up to your current day in the calendar, so yes.
And any manually build decorations stay, even after event ends.

When the event ends, any automatic changes, like the wreaths on power poles disappear.
All the recipes disappear from being able to be selected.
All gift trees will stop producing.

Any alread build things that are FICSMAS related will stay, including applied cosmetics.
Any existing production will work as long as it still has inputs.

Im fairly new myself- love the first couple of hours of the game, then it gets sort of boring to me having to feed so much into upgrades. Ive found you can set up 5 smelters and 5 constructors to the 2 biogenerators and use those to smelt and craft as needed

(theres 2 biogenerators at the back of the hub) and convert all leaves/wood to biomass, then switch to solid biofuel which is way more efficient)

Can be changed at any time, both via Load menu and when in save too.
Just that specific setting makes so that the game doesn't try to register for MP on any platform, if there is MP support via MS and Sony systems for same platform MP, and EOS is just for cross-platform MP.
On PC the default is for your game stores MP type to be default.

There are definitely a few bits that PC does better with this kind of game naturally but I have both versions and think the console version makes a pretty decent shot of it. The control scheme is well thought out imo which is a massive part of it.

since yesterday it appears the network connectivity error bug is gone, but for us however it hasn't made a difference cause the game crashes immediately when my friends join.... the further back in saves we go the longer it takes to crash, instead of 5s after joining in some save up to a minute.. i guess if we go back to the beginning it wont be crashing so it appears to be a matter of resources 🙁 it really sucks tho if it means everytime we come to phase 3-4 it starts to become unplayable

More likely longer time bug in clients in MP working too fast hitting you.
Which includes deploying BPs.

There is race condition somewhere that can cause bugged stuff in save, and it is much easier for clients to trigger that.

In general clients when building need to take short pauses between pointing and confirming.
Point, wait, click, wait, point, wait, click, wait, with for example 1/4th second pauses.

Until the devs finally fix that thing.
Basically seems that if the hologram lock to something, and the click, get to server in same update, it doesn't know the actual order of them and stuff breaks.

If I need more output in a factory I work down the chain to build it up to par.

it's why one of the last things I did was an aluminum refinery that saturated iirc 6 Mk. 5 conveyors

For what i can tell most resources dont deplete, foliage and those power slugs are limited, but for water that unlimited. Best to build coal plants near water

Since I hit stage four, I haven't focused much on making the required parts, just cleaning up the factories, making stations and trains, collecting Mecer Spheres for the Dimensional Depot for instant inventory anywhere, and Power Slugs and Somersloops for improving the factories.

Plus making more fuel powered gens.

I've been moving parts all over, so different parts are eventually made and delivered elsewhere, then eventually delivered back to the main hub and put into the Space Elevator, but that's a grind and a half.

Anyone else kinda in a slump?

Also, I made a Xmas train that loops round with some FICSMAS Gifts in the front two cars.

It eventually unloads only the back car that I've set to load at another station, where I drop off Gifts.

Hey would it be excessive to put awesome sinks behind every storage container in my (current) main base? Or maybe pair up items to a sink? Cause my current line is backed up to east Jesus with all the mergers

what i do is j let it back up until u get smart splitters

when u get them make the middle go into storage and set the left or right as overflow and send it into a sink

The line from the constructors (or what have you) goes into the smart splitter which branches into a merging line of lifts going to the sinks

Its alot of belt work but you genuinely will never need more than 1 sink per build

Limit is whatever still allows you to build the rail.

So constant 2m ramp / 4m double ramp works.
Constant 4m ramp / 8m double ramp doesn't work.
Maximum is between those two.

I don't remember the mix that still works.

As those aren't smooth but very bumpy.

Using beams would allow getting close to that actual limit in smooth ramp.

Less inclination allows the train will go up faster with same load.

But will take longer distance, so if you would have to circle back, more inclination would be faster because of less distance.

Brother and I were discussing things like never seeing the medium stingers in the oil "cave" near the crater of water in the SE corner of the map, for example, on console. For sure have both built there on PC and had stingers in there.

We are trying to figure out if the lack of cross play wirh is more than just "but mods". Mods are a thing om consoles, so that excuse always felt thin.

Belt choice is all about throughput and resource availability. If you've got plenty of reinforced plates, there's no reason to not use mk2 everywhere

mk2 and mk3 miners are progressively faster, with mk2 being about double a mk1

Oh so if I do have plenty of reinforced iron I shouldn’t bother using belt mk1 because I do have plenty of reinforced iron I got like 3 full stacks right now

Hmmm... With that little, I'd be using both levels of belt depending on whether more throughput is needed

Mk1 can push 60 items per min, and a mk2 can 120

You're going to need those reinforced plates to make more machines
