if i start a char in hardcore mode, i have no disadvantage or?
i can start in hardcore and if i die i can play softcore? and its as nothing happened in softcore or?
I had a blast reading through it all. Thanks for the entertainment guys
Anytime
Guys i have weird question...in Areas with spiders...is it actually just my imagination or when i kill some spiders it sounds like a baby is laughing for a little moment. 🤔
does this game has camera shake for certain skills and crits? I can't recall lol
I just started playing grim dawn a week ago and damn does skills feel impactful, mostly because the sound effects were great and crits were accompanied by a unobtrusive-but-noticeable screenshake
even though the game looks like it was released in 2008
There's definitely screen shake if you want it. I know it's pretty significant on some melee skills, but I don't play with it so not sure of the breadth of use.
is it just me or this node isnt affecting the total targets? tried with definetly more than 3 mobs and it seems to hit just 3 by 3
Anyone happen to know if Death Seal's Devouring Release node is affected by the Hungering Souls skill tree?
Yes: However note that it "releases a single hungering soul". It will not benefit from nodes where "you cast hungering souls". I believe it also will not benefit from additional hungering soul projectiles, though I haven't tested it for that.
I'll give it a shot and let you know 🙂
It's certainly not affected by the x% chance of extra projectiles idols.
And it's Hungering Souls, not Devouring Souls....
Haha, good callout. Maybe I should have some breakfast instead of subconsciously trying to avoid the thought of hunger.
Breakfast is good
yeah i've been checking forums and on discord search for people talking about this specific node and if it really targets more than 3 enemies at the same time.
just did a small test now, the following screenshot shows the range of drainlife area hitting the dummy (i've tried to hit it at max range) and that i have the node learned on drainlife.
and i've tried using it inside multiple small spiders and they are not targeted all at the same time
here
what drainlife seems to do is just drain target by target, instead of draining all 3+10 targets at the same time
Big dumb re-noob question.
What're the criteria for the stuff (gear/idols) you all save
I'm trying to get a better eye at spotting savable (not for shattering) stuff
like when looking at rares
do you look for say 16/17 total tiers
and 35+ forge potential
or what do you all look for?
and yes, I realize there will be a lot of 'parameters'
but general ball park kinda stuff.
I have 2 idol tabs. One for damage, one for resists. Since there are no tiers you just focus on high range idols. I keep double health idols too.
For class idols you still stick to high range stuff with affixes that work together, but you can get more organized when you know what kind of builds you do with a class
I don't keep ANY gear except LP uniques and exalts that I know I'll use for those uniques
So one unique tab, 2 exalt tabs
Unlike @stone granite I am a hoarder.... Originally I used to save rares of t10+, but as I have leveled quite a few chars to 100, now its T13 minimum for rares and I hardly bother unless they have really good affixes.... I focus more on exalted items because of the legendary use and BiS needs... I have learnt what kinds of things to look for - like melee flat crit on 2h weapons etc so its fairly easy to quickly check an exalt because they are unlikely to drop in vast numbers - if its not great then I tend to shatter it... for idols, its harder but I tend to keep the most useful, like health percentage + health or specific builds ones like smite on throw.... uniques... I dont keep any unique without LP unless its one of the "godlike" ones (Basition, Ravenous Void etc)... Otherwise I keep 3 of each - I have found that seems to cover all the possible builds without having to swap gear from one char to another... Other than that, I might save some generic leveling gear but items drop so often while leveling that I dont really bother.... Honestly, for me its all based on experience and if you are already in min/max stage for your builds or if you are looking for a wide variety of items for many different builds...
any news on that topic? i've already seen it, it is almost 1yo
dont get me wrong, im being kinda persistant bcause i love the concept of drainlife, just wanted more info 🙂
any tips on avoiding void meteor? 😄
Move
@stone granite cheers mate
@stone granite @sharp quartz thanks to both of you. those give me some good tips to starting honing my eye.
it always appears from behind the direction he is facing
so always be prepared to move sideways if he casts it from the direction he is facing
if you play with sound on it has a voice cue
@whole flint @brittle atlas thanks 🙂
"Die!"
so is "100% less bonus damage taken from critical damage"
essentially is 100% critical hit avoidance.
I see the 'less bonus damage taken' on two handed weapons
and I know they aren't the 'same' thing
less bonus makes the bonus damage less if you DO get a crit
where as crit avoid allows you to not take any crit (sort of an all or nothing)
but at 100% less bonus damage that seems to essentially means a crit doesn't get any bonus damage
your just taking normal damage
like 100% crit avoidance.
maybe you cant get 100% less bonus damage but at tier 1 it's 37-49 or something about there.
I need to check letools to see
if you're purely looking at how much damage you're taking, yes, 100% Less bonus damage taken from critical hits results in the same damage taken as 100% critical strike avoidance.
However, it's inaccurate to say they're the same. With 100% critical strike avoidance you are not critically hit. With 100% less bonus damage taken, you are critically hit, but it doesn't deal more damage than a regular hit.
This can be an important distinction as mechanics exist which cause things to happen, or take into consideration when you are critically hit.
no, you can get 100% from just a two-handed weapon suffix
Recently it became possible to exceed 100% of the stat, and so the stat was changed from "Less damage taken from critical strikes" to "Less bonus damage taken from critical strikes" so that you wouldn't take less damage from what would be a critical than a regular hit (by having a unique 2h weapon with the stat, then legendary crafting the stat as another affix onto it). I believe that was part of 0.8.4 If I'm remembering correctly. Prior to that, Less damage taken from Critical Strikes I believed capped at 100% at tier 6, and 7. The last time it would have been "capped below 100%" was before exalted items were added, but even then I believe the top roll for T5 was still 100%.
yeah, i know they aren't the same thing, I mentioned that.
and I described exactly what you did, was just trying to clarify the intent of what they do.
appreciate the clarification.
and I checked LE tools. tier 5-7 can get to 100%.
tier 5-7 can get to 100% according to LE Tools.
hi when multi ? ! ^^ i'm not patient
Every time someone asks, it gets delayed by week. Currently, the release is scheduled for february 29th, 2042
!multiplayer
Multiplayer's still in development. Here's the latest news: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
Refer to link right above you
Haven't purchased the game yet and am looking for a bit more information in regard to a specific trend in many arpgs. Does this game have pseudo-hardcore mechanics? Basically is it possible to "fail" a dungeon/encounter in such a way that I lose the thing I used to access it and am forced to find another one to attempt it again? (If you've played PoE, is there anything in this game like dying too much in a map and losing all your portals?) Also: Are one-shots prevalent? Mechanics that don't allow for a reactionary response to it(you either dodge it or die)?
@acoustic thicket Pseudo-hardcore, lol. Yes there are some things like that. There are dungeons and arena that if you die you start over and loose key. If you die in monolith's echo you loose the bonus loot. You get only one chance, but it's not as bad as PoE is. This game is more consistent. If you avoid mechanics then you will hardly ever get one shot. You can go to locations way above your level where you have to be more careful of course, but the reward is more XP and access to better items faster.
Thanks for the response.
@acoustic thicket and if you don't like the idea of that you can always create a more defensive build
what @elfin drum already said.... but I would also like to remind you that the game is in beta so there is an element of "WTF" in some cases.. The game is incomplete (missing: 3 classes, 3 campaign chapters and various other things like Multiplayer) and it is still very much evolving and the devs are adding things, testing and tweaking based on player response and feedback all the time... This means that there may be one-shot mechanics that are broken/unfair or a new patch could mean a major change to how something worked 3 months ago or a bug that could have you pulling your hair out depending on your level of caffeine consumption or a lag spike at totally the wrong moment.... That said..... its still a great game with a lot of existing content already available that could easily kill 50-100h of fun per character/build.
I just really dislike those things because it discourages me from trying anything challenging. Makes me feel like I shouldn't even attempt it unless I have a very high chance of succeeding. Some people enjoy that, but it's not for me. Thanks for the additional information though
@acoustic thicket also the game tells you which damage type has killed you, which at least it's more useful than PoE fk you one shots
How much information does that death recap give you? Having one at all is nice, but if it doesn't give enough information it may as well not be there. The damage type is useful, but there's a big difference in dying to something that wouldn't have killed me if I had 10% more defenses and something that did 100x more than necessary to kill me
No problem.... I just wanted to make sure that you didnt forget about the beta nature of the game - some people seem to forget this sometimes..... Honestly, the issues that you are worried about DO exist - and there are plenty of people on the forum occassionally fuming that they got oneshot but didnt know why or died before they could learn the mechanic of a boss-fight... These things exist in the game and there is a lot of feedback to the developers of how they are implemented currently... Key thing is that LE is generally easy as ARPGs go.... if you spend a little time figuring out the mechanics/defences etc rather than trying to race through it, then its fairly smooth..... There are a few "gear/build" check points during the campaign levelling but they dont have penalties if you fail them.... most content you can generally try everything out at lower levels first too.... High level end-game content (empowered monoliths, dungeons & arena) can get very hard very fast so dont rush into it... at least not until you understand how the game mechanics work.
What killed you with what attack is about what you get... From that you have to either deduce that you should have moved off the pool of poison on the floor or need to cap your critical strike avoidance or whatever.... For me there are some basics that you learn during the campaign phase that will help figure out what you are doing wrong or need to change to progress.... and once you understand, its actually quite easy....
The good thing is in LE, there is much less mobs generally and they come in sets
So if you die to a pack of meteor birds, its almost always just the only thing near you that has hit you
its not like other arpgs where the screen is filled with arrows and 100 mobs on screen
once you learn the game a bit, the death recap is pretty useful since you can almost always see your death before it happens in your minds eye haha
The amount of keys you get, at least for myself, is more than sufficient. I get more of them than I can use. So while it is "pseudo-hardcore", it is nothing like poe where getting access to it has a significant opportunity cost. You get keys very quickly, and even occasionally get another key drop in the dungeon youre currently inside too.
hey all, with the skills and specializations, each skill has a summary of what that skill does. there's an older video of someone converting 100% damage to void by converting damage to fire first and using the sigils of despair to convert all fire to void... so just wondering if the damage conversions list apply to all skills or only that skill? like attack speed / added damage / etc...
like will Sigils of hope only convert the extra 30% damage provided by empowering sigils and 3 damage from Decree of flame to void, or if i only deal fire damage, will the sigils convert all of my melee fire damage to void ?
might be a noob question, but i'm only 4 days into the game 🙂
another example is Vengeance 'dark duelist' which gives up to 100% global damage, does this only apply to vengeance, or would it apply to other skills or even the default attack?
Dark Duelist gives 100% global damage while preparing to riposte, so that applies to everything. In terms of conversions, you have to pay attention to what the node says. Sigils doesn't have a full conversion, it just converts the flat fire you would get from sigils to flat void
Thanks, i'm guessing that since the video was made there's been a few changes / balances, but thought i'd ask !
Hi, new player here. I'm currently trying out a druid, swarm, hives-thingy. Am i right to believe that there is no way of seeing a tooltip for the damage done by the mosquitos or even swarm? (loving the game!)
XD
Am i going crazy or is there no monolith that has special nodes for daggers?
Reign of Dragons does daggers, swords, axes, maces, spears... There are echo nodes that offer specific dagger rewards... looks like two daggers next to each other.... Obviously its all RNG tho....
More specifically set/unique daggers
Same mono, the only difference is that they have the unique icon with the two daggers...
another way of getting unique daggers is to use the Ascendance Rune - obviously only if the drop isnt a boss only unique....
Hi guys,
How good is judgement?
Any good uniques for judgement build?
https://www.lastepochtools.com/builds/skill/judgement - simplest answer is to look at the vids/builds content creators have made.... Personally I havent found it particularly good... its a fairly old skill that could probably use some TLC but there are builds that use it....
Thanks @sharp quartz
It seems like a good skill. It can go hit crit build, dot or even proc smite. Plus It can heal.
In paper seems good but dont know in practice
You will always know what kills you. For the most part anything that one shots is a boss mechanic that is very telegraphed.
This game is more casual than PoE
Ive played crit and dot. I really like DoT (strong and easy to build). Crit is really high dmg but has issues with AoE. (I never tried pairing crit with a little dot I think that could solve alot)
Is there any afk(?) build for beginners?
I just got to monolith with my first character
how does conditional fire penetration work with ignite (while spinning, warpath) or will the benefit just drop off for all applied ignites once u stop? idk how snapshotty or dynamic dots are in this game
or does it not work at all
Ailments snapshot upon application
When you apply a DoT, it uses your combat stats to determine the total damage to be applied by the DoT. While the dot is ticking, the enemy's defences (or lack thereof) are considered. Penetration is "your" stat - applies to outgoing, where "shred" is the enemy's stat - applies to incoming. So losing penetration after a dot has been applied should not change the DoT, however shred falling off will. Other defensive stats changing on the enemy can also change the damage the dot deals (such as less damage taken from distance)
You should be able to test this by warpathing into a dummy to apply 1 stack of ignite and back off, then stop warpathing and see if the ignite tick changes.
(sorry to keep you hanging, didn't hit enter =p )
Are there other mechanics that snapshot besides damage over time effects? I know that aura of decay needs to be toggled for stat or specialization changes to take effect for example.
Do minions need to be resummoned to gain the benefits of new specialization points or stats?
thanks for the lengthy explanation!
I wouldn't really refer to ailments snapshotting, they are dynamic, but logically apply an initial amount of damage. If I cut something with a rusty knife, then that knife breaks, it won't change the cut that was already inflicted. There are some cases of snapshotting which we are working on. Off the top of my head I can't recall them all, but minions are one of them. Companions are re-summoned when you change their skill trees to prevent this.
Fair, and thanks for the info 🙂
different question, you cannot convert more than 100% x ailment chance to another right, or does that also lead to more stacks? just making sure 😄
do you have a specific example? I can't recall off the top of my head a setup that would numerically have more than 100% conversion.
It should not. Though I have not actually personally tested it, standard conversion rules should apply. Those are separate effects, and conversion cannot happen multiple times. The skill takes precedence, and converts all bleed chance to ignite chance. The gloves then look for bleed chance to convert to ignite chance, but there's nothing left to convert since after the skill you now have 0% bleed chance. Hubris would however convert other bleed effects to ignite that the warpath node isn't covering.
Edit: double checked, this conversion rule is still correct for this specific case as well.
alright thanks
Not really... the devs specifically said they dont like builds that dont require you to actively participate.... However, for builds where you are farming while watching netflix, I'd personally go sentinel - generally tanky and using a skills like void / fire warpath where you just hold down the button and spin around or a void devouring orb build on autocast.. pretty boring playstyles but if thats what you want, then that would be my first choice... not sure if the other classes have similar...
Ah thanks for the info, any buils you recommend other than you mentioned?
I personally like the Forge Guard Shield Throw / Manifest Armour build and the Void Knight Void Warpath.... The FG build requires finding some specific gear to really shine so its probably not a good new player build but the Void Warpath can be made to work with much simpler gear etc. YOu can see a list of builds here: https://www.lastepochtools.com/builds/
MA works without any of the special gear tbh
I leveled it in solo to 100 farming the entire way
its got such a general abundance of damage even without the core pieces it still shreds content
And is very easy to build piece by piece, but is also not so afk.
Ohh thanks! Ill look into it, Im doing monolith to my beastmaster now
MA?
manifest armor
Yes it does do very good damage as you gear up, but I did say "make it shine" 😜 Honestly tho, I still find that getting a decent minion 2h with melee crit can be a little tricky.... a warpth build is a little more forgiving gear wise imho... (excluding of course the Wings armour but thats getting into min/maxing anyway...)..
how rare are burning avarice from the soul gambler? was debating wether i should make a bleeding heart or try to get those gloves for a potential ignite build
not amazing rare, if you gamble gloves you'll probably get them sooner or later
might take a couple hours of focused farming, but ye
under class-specific building tips in the wiki is there a reason there is not a section for rogue?
The wiki is super outdated iirc
Head on over to #🔪┃rogue perhaps and ask some folks in there, it's usually fairly responsive
ok thanks
is multiplayer Available to everyone?
As mentioned in the post, we have started Closed pre-Alpha Multiplayer testing with our Community Testers today. If you’re interested in joining the Community Tester Program, we will be writing another post in the future which will have information on the program, as well as how to apply for the program. Please hold onto your applications for now!
I played LE a while back with a full lightning mage build. So much fun, super OP lol. If I wanted to swap to something that feels pretty different but is still ranged (not melee), what might be a fun build on another class? Any recommendations?
You could try Umbral blades throwing build in Rogue - very strong.... There is the Bow Mage Marksman build (basically an archer that procs crazy elemental damage through a clever interaction).. you could try a shield throw or javelin in Sentinel - either to proc your manifest armour minion doing op damage (shield throw) or proc fire or lightning Smite strikes from the heavens (both shield throw & javelin) .... All of those are pretty decent ranged builds (althougth the manifest armour is indirectly minion/melee but your char is ranged)...
Whenever I go read updates on the forum, like today's Development Update... my GPU usage spikes to 100% as I'm scrolling and the site drops to like 1 FPS.
Using Firefox 99 on Windows 10.
Anyone else experience this?
Do you have hardware acceleration turned on in your browser?
Any word on how to opt into the multiplayer closed testing?
Read the news post fully, states the current situation in it.
Look, all it takes is actually reading it to get the info you need
It seems to me like most of the people clamoring for MP in general are allergic to reading though
The opt in already took place a while ago, too late now
What's up y'all. Just coming back after being away a while, any suggestions for what to play? I played flame reave ignite through the campaign deathless so I'd like something a little different from that this go around. Thanks ^^
Most people are allergic to reading in general 😄
can anyone tell me if this node on Eterra blessing help me reset cooldown of Howl skill of my Wolf companion ?
does anyone know about the ignite/shred/etc... if you have 200-600% chance to shred/ignite, does this mean you could apply multiple stacks, or does this mean you have added chance to overcome the enemies ability to resist those status effects?
and the 100% increased shred effect, if each shred reduces their resistance by 5%, does this make it 10%, and if you can have up to 15 stacks or 20 stacks, is there a limit to the -% resistance that the enemy is reduced to at that maximum?
If you have 200% and the skill has 100% ailment effectiveness then you apply 2 stacks per hit and if you have 600% then you apply 6 stacks per hit. There is no limit at least not one you can reach when it comes to negative res
nice. thanks 🙂
has game pause in SP been already discussed?
50+ results when doing a search on the forum, so I'd say its been discussed.... thankfully the lack of a single player pause in LE isnt as bad as in other games... in LE you can find a safe spot and the change in Spire attacks in monoliths make it less of a problem than it was.... not saying I wouldnt want a pause, but its not as bad as it could be...
This kind of thing can happen, but you need to check which specific firefox process is hogging the GPU to be sure what webpage is the culprit... - having 43 open is probably going to cause some issues on an older setup.... Usually things that are using Webgl or other advanced client side graphics processing API can cause this kind of issue in the browser.... Dammits build planner has a similar effect (he recently changed to a different graphics api component specifically to combat this).... hardware accelleration on in the brower is important.... I am assuming you are using a new browser version & that you have a newer gpu driver installed (CLEAN install, not upgrade). Another thing I would recommend is clearing the browser cache properly - you may have some older api/client side info on your system that is messing things up.... I dont recall the actual forum having anything that would cause this kind of GPU spike - at least not any that I have observed....
Simplest reply: https://www.lastepochtools.com/builds/
Thanks a ton, this is super awesome - love the ideas! Appreciate it
Hello there! We need some help collecting ideas for the Community Unique's name and flavor text. I've created a Reddit thread to capture ideas and votes for your favorites: https://www.reddit.com/r/LastEpoch/comments/unf4qo/community_unique_name_flavor_text_help_requested/
Can i raise the zap range from the overload node in static tree? Seems kinda low to me
It's a close range skill. It's also pretty bad, don't think they've fixed it yet.
Too bad
Hey guys, has the constellation weapon skins or portal effect been added in?
No cosmetics / transmog / skins available yet.... Not sure what you mean by portal effect?
Oh whoops my bad, I guess it’s just the skins 🙂
I pretty much forgot I backed this on KS, is it possible to play if I only backed the 10 bucks "Traveler Supporter" with a digital copy of the game. Or do I have to wait more until 1.0 patch? I don't really understand how I'm supposed to get the game 😄
does anyone know if these two nodes for holy aura affects spells
attack speed and increased crit chance
the crit chance will
ok thanks
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lastepoch/last-epoch/posts/2803361 and Mike mentioned in the comments that if you didn't receive the email just contact support
Hello Travelers! I am please to announce that all Traveler and Seeker tier supporters will be granted beta access on Tuesday April 7th 2020. We will be e-mailing you when your account has been flagged for beta access.
where can I read up on ailment dmg calculations? The G guide seems a bit sparse.
Want to know what scales with ignite applied by warpath. Stuff like
Increased elemental damage
increased melee elemental damage? Probably not?
increased elemental melee attack speed - does this affect warpath?
it largely comes down to understanding damage tags. However if you want a good readthrough, AndrewTilley has compiled a great community guide on the forums - https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/community-game-guide/26057/9
for ignite applied by warpath in particular:
increased damage
increased fire damage
increased elemental damage
increased damage over time
increased elemental damage over time
any nodes in warpath's tree that don't specify hits with modifiers that would normally apply to ignite. (more damage, more fire damage, more damage over time, etc)
increased damage scaling for warpath from attributes (4% per strength, I'd guess. might have dex scaling too?)
fire penetration
fire resistance shred
increased ignite effect (is a more multiplier!)
melee attack speed (and elemental melee attack speed if you've given warpath the fire tag via nodes in its tree)[via applying more stacks per second]
ignite chance (via applying more stacks per hit)
Did they announce how to join the community testing??
A long time ago, yeah. Too late now.
It was like 2 days ago when they announced they would open recruiting
They announced it months ago actually, applications are closed
Cheers mate
Been running @coral lantern's Retaliation Paladin, which I really like as a melee fanatic.
Dropped this set of armor. It actually was complete just like that except %damage reflected was a bad prefix at tier 3 so I used some glyphs and when going 4 to 5 it popped this.
So I didn't do anymore crafting for it.
Unfortunately with that low armor it doesn't really help "currently."
BUT, it still has forge potential.
So I was wandering would these be savable
for a future legendary upgrade? and if so, what would you use it on?
I don't think I'd try it on anything less than LP3
But depends on whether you are going to play multiplayer or not, because none of this will matter in MP
yeah, i definitely will keep ti for something with an lp3 at least but is there a specific unique chest this would go with?
and I don't do a lot of mp so....
To be honest, I would hide this in my stash until the devs decide to give the whole reflect concept some decent possibilities beyond the thorn shield build...
And if (player) % reflect was ever anything more than bad.
Oh I'm saving it for sure.
So in Storm Totem, tags minion, totem, etc.
Blizzard does damage over time, and it scales with minions/totems (although it doesn't say totems)
But it's tags are cold/spell
so does it scale with minion spell damage or minion damage over time? or both.
Blizzard doesn't have the ~DoT tag so it won't scale with minion DoT but it will with minion spell & minion cold.
@balmy current I know, that's why I'm a bit confused because the text actually says "take cold damage over time"
so why is it minion spell and not effected by minion DoT?
are their other precedents in game where the text doesn't match the tags?
hello! looking for some build youtube content creators to test out diff builds and classes. Any suggestions of up to date, content creators? so far im aware of Lizard irl.
Also, looking for a tanky speed build for 2nd char.
I would just look on https://www.lastepochtools.com/builds/ -- I won't say that all creators are appropriately tagging their builds to be picked up by the tool, but I would guess a large majority are -- especially the well known ones in the community
Yes, there are some places where the descriptive/fluff text doesn't match the tags/modifiers & in that case the tags/modifiers are correct. That doesn't mean it's not a bug though & that Blizzard should have the DoT tag.
How do you tell what stats a character/skill needs? Also how do you compare weapons? Is the damage listed on the weapon the damage per hit? So you multiply that by the attack speed to work out dps?
Also what can and can't be respec'd? Like Druids are transformations but once you transform can you still use skills? Like if I play as a summoner and then choose druid at the end am I suddenly useless because transforming stops the summons working? If I can't respec into a melee character or caster at that point then that'd suck
Also, is there a build guides website?
Have you tried starting with the in-game game guide (G)?
The mastery choice (druid/beastmaster/shaman) is the only thing that can't be respec'd.
The only thing with the transforms is that the skills on your skill bar are replaced with the transform skills. Any companions you have out when you transform are still active but you won't be able to use their active skill (as it will have been replaced with one of the transform skills)
Nothing in the game guide seems to say that a primalist needs STR and DEx but has no need for INT and Druid needs INT only and every other stat is useless or the like.
For the attributes you need you'd have to check the tags on the skills.
Generally for the Primalist it's strength &/or attunement
Not int though
The game guide should give you a grounding of the basic workings of the game, the skill tags will then give you the specific mods/etc that you'd want to get
So Summon Wolf says it's scaling tags are "Minion, Companion, Strength" so strength on my character carrys over to the wolf?
and primalist spells don't get anything from INT because it's not in the scaling tag? Normally INT is the spellcasting stat in games so I kinda assumed INT would be major for them as well as melee stats xD
Right now I kinda have a lvl 30 necromancer but it was painful to level because pets die so much and do no dmg so bosses took like 30 minutes to kill and I have a 55 beastmaster but had the same issue they died so much that I couldn't function and if I tried standing on them to revive the pets i'd die
Took a couple of months break after that because I was annoyed and now am back leveling new characters but hoping they won't turn out as bad lol
Yes. Your character's strength affects the skill that summons the wolf.
Correct.
Btw is there any word on the classes we can't play? Like Warlock and Falconer?
😦 having them there is a bloody tease when they might be 5 years off since we have no timeframe haha
a release some time next year is reasonable in my opinion.
This would be classed as an alpha because it's not feature complete until it has those other ones included and then once it's out of alpha by becoming feature complete then the beta starts so those sounds like they must be only releasing as the final thing before beta starts 🙂
It's an impressively bug free alpha though I have to admit 🙂
Incorrect, this is a beta
but a beta is once something is feature complete for bug fixing and balancing lol features don't get added in betas that's alphas...
That is also incorrect. I've alpha and beta tested games for a long time.
Classes are not features either
Multiplayer is in alpha testing right now
What you have right now is the beta version of the game
bah consistency with game dev companies on terms is so different lol
Not really, alpha testing is never public
You can get invited to it, but it's never open
Like WoW had alpha testing for friends and family, but that's it
I know of closed betas where there's no NDA when the difference between open and closed beta is from what I heard meant to be whether or not there's an NDA
Outside of MP the only thing LE is missing is content, it's mostly complete as a game. And content will constantly evolve.
by content you mean story? or what?
I know alot of betas story is one thing not included beyond a certain very limited point
Story isn't finished, classes are content
Skills
They are continuing to add new art
I'm gunna laugh on launch day when they release the new classes and noone can play them with how buggy they are from lack of beta testing
So some idols give bonuses to "minion necrotic dmg" but hungering souls for example is necrotic but not minion so no for that but then my minions are physical and in alot of games minion necrotic dmg would be a buff that takes some of thier physical dmg and does that as extra necrotic dmg but is that the case here? Also minion tags are not scaling tags they are their own category so that makes doubly unsure
If your minion doesn't do necrotic damage then modifiers to minion necrotic damage doesn't do anything, it's simple
so different from other games hmm can't see what minions do necrotic dmg
I don't know any game that does it how you describe
Increases to a damage type only apply if you already do that damage type, in all games
alot of games it's like you "do x% of physical damage as extra fire damage" for example though it's usually worded that way
Right that's a completely different mod
I can't see anything that scales off "minion necrotic" dmg only off "minion"
Ahh I see skeletal mage is listing necrotic in the minion tag area but that's not scaling tags that's a minion tags category so it doesn't scale off that since it's not a scaling tag right?
Does your minion do necrotic damage? Then any mod that increases minion necrotic damage will boost it. Simple.
Also when is minion damage worked out? Like if I get an upgrade and already have a minion out does it get the increase or not until it dies and gets resummoned? Can't see a way to summon without things dying on classes like beastmaster so might be difficult if they need to be summoned again to get it
They do not need to be summoned again
ahh ok I didn't want to assume when it's not listed as a scaling tag 😛
if that category was "minion scaling tags" I would of known it was safe to assume
Anyway now I know that idol is totally useless until I level more 🙂 Can put on one that's useful until then
I'm not a 100% sure about that. I'll test it rn
wth I went back to town with a portal to sell stuff when an upgrade dropped and when I went back via portal to loot it all the items on the ground were missing???
suggestion: the gold you get for selling loot isnt worth the effort of collecting it... imho, you get more gold from mob drops/chests especially as you reach higher levels. its more useful to shatter gear for affixes or collect/keep useful gear as crafting items for your char/alts..
shatter? no idea how haha didn't know it was a thing
I barely do any crafting due to lack of materials and/or lack of decent gear to craft on so if theres a way to get more materials it'd be nice to know how lol
I'm surprised that by level 55 there's only 4 gear rarities white, yellows and uniques and the green set items which I only have 3 of. Kinda surprised there's no rarity above yellow. Maybe higher rarity doesn't exist? Or maybethey don't start dropping until lvl 60 or 70 or more?
you forgot blue (magic) but there’s also a rarity above yellow yeah
There are Normal, Magic, Rare, Exalted, Unique, Set, and Legendary items -- I'm not quite sure when Exalted's start to drop
Around 60 or so I think I found my first ones.
what's rare? haven't seen any of those and I have 2 level 55's
assuming magic is yellow
then 0 rares or exalted drops so far
magic is blue items. rare is yellow items
rare items are very common.
Exalted Items start dropping in Area Level 55 (...pretty sure about that).
Tier 7 Exalted Affixes start dropping in area lvl 90 zones
oh wait yeah my bad there was blues haha I was forgetting them
so used to games where green us uncommon and blue is rare or the like or other games where yellow is the next up from whites
not sure how I forgot about blues
probably because I was only looting yellows and leaving blues on floor for so long haha
what colour is exalted?
purple
normal affixes go from tier 1 --> all the way up to Tier 5.
Exalted Affixes go beyond that, up to tier 6.
Tier 7 Affixes are Super Saiyan, even bigger.
Also not really sure how zones and levels work since so far i've only done story quests. Afaik zones don't have levels, for all I know all the zones scale to my levels but idk if that's true or not haha.
zones do have levels. Take a look at the top-right-corner of your screen. Hit Tab if it's not visible.
ahh I was expecting it to be on the map when you try to map travel otherswise it'd be kinda hard to know what zones match your level
true enough. Once you are doing Monoliths, it's easy. Level 75 Monolith? Every zone is lvl 75. Empowered Monolith, every zone is lvl 100.
no idea what monolith is
👀 it's the endgame, after the storyline. Access them by traveling to the "End of Time" on your world map, and taking that suspicious doorway-portal on the right of the zone.
Ahh ok I'm lvl 55 in a lvl 54 area still doing main story
What lvl will story end?
well you're fighting a bunch of snakes right now, yes? Once you fight the boss of your current Chapter, then you'll do Monoliths. You're close
Hmm idk tbh hadn't really taken notice of the enemies haha
Press F to open the forge to see what you can craft... You generally dont need crafting for the campaign section although it can make things MUCH easier if you use it for specific upgrades... you WILL need to craft your own items as you reach the end-game & dungeons so its important to look for things you may use later while in the campaign..... Generally for help understanding the game, you may also find some help here: https://lastepoch.tunklab.com/ and https://www.lastepochtools.com/
Yeah but I haven't seen an option to shatter gear that I got as drops on that F screen. Also it's can't be crafted much :( they only have like 20ish potential and that means I can only craft 1 stat alot or a very small amount on each
there are 2 buttons in there, runes and glyphs. Runes will do things to your items like shatters or removal will give you shards. Shatters totally destroys the item and can be used on items with 0 Forging P. Removals guarantee to give you all the tiers of the item but will use FP and wont work on a 0 FP items. Also there are Glyphs of Hope that help give you a chance to not consume FP. You can also use glyphs of chaos on affixes of an item that you dont want to get something you do potentially.
Keep in mind that the chance to loose 1-15 FP is not evenly distributed and is weighted towards the lower the end.
Will those in early access be reset when the game releases?
Currently, everything is stored locally on your computer -- they've said many times that they don't intend on resetting anything
Is it known how local saves will interact with multiplayer when that arrives?
They won't at all
Interesting
Does that mean it will be a separate character for online vs offline play, or will it be some sort of secondary save for each character
yep, local saves are locked to local offline singleplayer, online will be server-side characters
it'll be separate characters- there's no crossing over of offline and online saves
Cool
Is multiplayer server based or peer to peer? Just worried that 2 Aussies with both have 300ms+ while playing together if it's server based and all the servers are in America lol
Very few game devs think we exist sadly :(
It will be server based. They have not released details about which regions servers will be hosted in yet
anyone know if abherant call unique overrides twin spirit node in wraith passives ?
it does not
Ok so i'm a lvl 58 necromancer and this Majasa boss is impossible it's taken me like 15 deaths to kill it's first form and then I thought i'd won only for it to get back up with full HP and teleport and one shot me......
This is completely impossible
and because I had no HP potions left at the end of the fight I now can't get past killing it the first time anymore because I can't heal
Skip and go to monoliths
I was told they unlock by beating the story
Nope, you only need to get to the end of time to be able to access them
Yeah, they'd still be lvl 57-ish though, but you can try them at lvl 30....
the ideal would be to go through the story as you can, but chapter 9 is actually kinda hard for some builds (if you're not geared yet), i just do the story through lagon and do 9 later
when converting ignite to electrify, say via jav or turanis bident, would increased ignite effect from items also change to electrify as it says effects releated to ignite/bleeed now depend on electrify instead
Because your first time through, you're going to probably find it pretty challenging to do mono's with a lvl 30 character.
so it's faster to go thru campaign.
but now that you're in mid 50s, you don't need to kill majasa.
hop in, start running monos.
then you can go back and finish her off later. you won't miss anything I don't think
(maybe 1 passive but that won't make a different right now)
hey umm "increased elemental damage" stat applies to both melee and spells right?
yes
cool 🙂 my lvl 30 only has like 50% increased fire dmg and 19% increased spell dmg so disintegrate spell has been taking like 30 seconds to kill trash -_-
theyre in different spell banks but yes they contribute
different spell banks?
like spell dmg cold dmg fire dmg etc. some skills are spellz some arent so look at the tag
yeah but disintegrate is both a spell and it does fire damage so it'd get the bonus from both right?
Can I block some generic affixes while making a legendary?
For example - I have Transient Rest boots with a bunch of generic mods (ms, phys res, poison res, necro res) and rare boots with same mods could it double down on them or could I force a prefix?
Yes, as well as % increased DoT damage
note that if you add "added spell cold damage" from some item it will also add to your disintegrate but that part of the damage will scale with % cold and % spell and % dot but not with % fire
there is no global conversion of added damage in most cases (some skills have global conversion nodes)
There is no way to block or give any affix a higher chance of being used when creating a Legendary... Its all RNG... if you have 1LP, then the game will take a random affix from the exalt you use... 2LP, 2 affixes etc.... absolutely nothing but RNG... so the best way to go is to make sure that any of the 4 affixes on the exalt will be something useful on the Legendary and pray to the RNGods....
so on the contrary it could proc into double ms boots or double melee phys on a 2h?
Yep
Is a disintegrate sorcerer just the worst build in the game or what? It takes 5 times the ammount of time to kill anything as pretty much everything else i've played
Yes, you need to use the Ingvar's Head unique & then stack crit chance.
Yeah idk what to kill to get that unique lol
as it stands I take 20 mins to kill a boss since I have to spend 99% of me time running in circles to not be one shot while never getting to attack
10 - 30 seconds to kill most trash mobs depending on what type
I assume I need to kill a enemy called Ingvar over and over for the unique?
It's a random drop, everything is apart from the monolith/dungeon/arena champion boss-specific drops (& 1 or 2 other uniques but they generally aren't used)
It's a unique catalyst/offhand
And I misspelled it
So to be clear the characters going to be unable to function until I give up the game in frustration because it may take 10 years of playing a crap character to get the one item that makes it viable?-_-
It's not going to take 10 years, it's a common drop, but yes.
Plus you can respec the character into any other spellcaster.
repeccing would leave me with an even worse character with none of it's spells leveled lol I may as well delete it and relevel to lvl 33 if that was the case
It'll be a lot quicker to just respec it, you have minimum skill lvls (can't remember what it is at lvl 33) and skills level up much faster when they're under-levelled. Plus you don't need to respec every skill. What's your current build (upload it to the build planner & share the link https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/)
so we can help minimise the pain
I was working towards the build for fire disintegrate off that site lol
none of the other builds looked interesting to me 😦
Depending on how much % fire damage affixes you have on your gear, you could just swap to Lightning Blast (either lightning or cold)
Or a channelled fireball build maybe (never tried it)
not very good sadly only 156% 😦
no upgrade gear is dropping
all of it's either melee gear or minion damage items -_-
Would you mind uploading your character & sharing the link, it'll be easier to see what you've actually got. For example, if you have mostly % elemental damage or % spell damage affixes on your gear (rather than % fire) then you can swap to any other fire/cold/lightning damage skill & be none the worse off.
Lightning Blast is good for either single target or AoE depending on how you spec it, Ele Nova is good for AoE
Are you doing much crafting?
Have you upgraded your weapon (prioritising the adaptive spell damage implicit) recently?
as I said all the gear dropping is melee gear or minion damage gear so half the stats are garbage and only what I crafted on would give me any benefit 😦
Have you set up a loot filter to highlight gear that would be useful?
my weapon has 102% elemental dmg but that's the only good thing on it and only because I upgraded the garbage % it started with
loot filter? I have to mouse over every item one by one to see what it's stats are -_- takes forever
Which is why the loot filter is useful 'cause you can get it to either hide #### you don't want to see & highlight in different colours affixes you do want to see
% elemental damage is useful for being able to swap to other skills though
and idk how to upload my character other than taking hours to find and add gear with my stats 1 by 1 and level up everything click by click in that builder if I can even do that haha
oh
and the one below it gives you a link to share
umm when does it save? Do I need to quit before hitting that?
No, it saves reasonably frequently, plus TBH, it's not too important if things are a little off
ok give me a coupleof mins lol gotta work out where the game is and the like xD
C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\LocalLow\Eleventh Hour Games\Last Epoch\Saves
ugh they are listed as slots not the characters name so idk what one this is
sort by most recently saved
ahh cool
Ok, firstly, go to the gambler & get yourself an imperial staff. Adaptive spell damage is your spells' base damage, that root staff you have is part of the problem 'cause it has such a low value
looks like I have over 400% crit chance lol which is stupid afaik because 100% would mean critting every spell
That would even help TBH
No, that's the unique amulet, it gives you +100% flat added crit chance until you crit, then it halves your crit chance for 4s
It's one of the implicits on caster weapons
It serves as base spell damage
so that staff you have at the moment is giving you a tiny amount which is not helping your feelings of why shit doesn't die
yeah but that 100% should only add 100% right? not over 400%?
Generally yes, but the Ignivar's head offhand converts your % chance to crit (which can numerically go over 100%, even if that serves no purpose) to a more damage multiplier for Disintegrate
You've managed to pick the only build in the entire game that cares about getting >>>100% crit chance.... 😉
But I digress
oh I was more wondering how +100% was giving more than +400% instead
If you can get an imperial staff, you'll be getting nearly 4 times the damage...
That alone would be a massive help
I bought an imperial staff and it's got no stats 😦 it's a white with only 14 forging potential too
chuck some % spell damage prefix on it
it'll be better than what you've got at the moment
it's got 26 adaptive spell dmg
Much better than what you have
26 sounds very low
It is, but it's an improvement
i'd look at it and think it's a downgrade lol
the adaptive spell damage is the single most important stat for a caster weapon, in most cases
unless you're comparing it to another one that has a very similar figure
it's now a blue with 109% spell dmg
so it should be doing 2-3 times the damage of your old staff
give that a spin for a bit
really?
yup
the % increased damage figure is comparable to your old one & the base damage is significantly higher
it's only 7% more spell dmg than I had elemental dmg before haha so didn't expect that major
It's not, that's the point, it's the adaptive spell damage stat that's much higher
all of the % damage modifiers on your character are applied to that adaptive spell damage figure
so with your old staff they're multiplying a much lower base
channeled disintegrate until running out of mana with both weapons and old one near the end I was at 850ish dmg per tick while new weapon is like 1150 so only 300 dmg higher whereas 2-3 times damage would be 1700 to 2550 per tick
anything else to do? on it's own this won't change much
Personally I'd swap to Lightning Blast & use that for single target & Ele Nova for AoE
You could also try & get an Imperial Staff with a higher adaptive spell damage
I'd probably also swap out the amulet for a crafted one, maybe with % fire penetration on it
what about my other gear?
since you don't have the unique offhand, % crit is pointless for Disintegrate
As you're using Disintegrate (which has the DoT tag & therefore can't hit) the only useful stat on the relic is the elemental leech
I actually repecced away from elemental blast when I came back to the game lol I was using elemental blast in December iirc but at the time I was assigning random points and had no real idea how to build it
I'd probably swap that for a crafted one as well, ideally with +Disintegrate on it (if you have any of those affix shards, even a t1 affix would be good since you get +1 Disintegrate until the tier hits t5)
steal some of the Lightning Blast skill trees from one of those
You can also watch @lime forum 's Sorc levelling guide
Personally, I just wouldn't really use Disintegrate
IMO
Glacier is also pretty hard hitting
so loot filter? do I have to sit in game setting up hundreds of settings somewhere or is there a download file for it like neversink loot filter for path of exile?
I accidently hit X earlier in game and it did say loot filter disabled and then enabled but I had no idea what it was or why one press both disabled and reenabled it at the same time xD
You hold it down to disable it so you can check for stuff that might have been hidden (if you want to)
Showing you how to make a quick and easy loot filter in Last Epoch.
I have the quest journey to maj'elka" and I'm supposed to speak with "Soreth'ka Nagasa", but her location is in the divine era, and all the waypoints are locked
am I missing something? don't see how to get there
I skimmed the latest news and i can see some can play it today. Did those people get a mail about it or?
besides damage over time is poison classified as anything else?
if you are refering to MP, it was a test last week with Community testers that have all signed an NDA before allready (not only for this test but to get part of the programm)
aaah ok well i hoppe we get it soon 😛
It's an ailment
Does +fire and +lightning damage (like from Light of Rahyeh) affect the damage over time of Holy Trail, or does it have to be DoT specific?
yup. #% Increase Fire and #% Increase Lightning damage both help. But remember, they're not as good as #% Inc Damage Over Time, because Holy Trail is split damage by default
Thanks @cold plaza , I'm actually leveling up with your holy trail guide, lol
One change I made to the gearing of the build is that I'm running stymied fate boots
the have both increase in DoT damage and faster cooldown for lunge
HI every one, whats a good build thats kind of action orientated? Ive been trying to get into epoch as a slower alternative to POE, but so many "good" Builds Ive seen for starters involve setting up some sort proc that involves just running through packs. Is there any thing a little more button pushy but not crazy hard to set up?
Is there a way to check what base damage i have for an element?
example: void damage
i can see how much Increased % void damage i have in my char sheet. but anyway to check my base void damage is?
there's so few sources of it. Weapon Implicit, Vitality x2 (if you're a Void Knight), and the skill itself. Mastery might have some
alrighty, thanks! 👍
Could shoot for a dual-form Druid (Spriggan/Swarmblade or whatever appeals), pretty much a requirement to be active with it. Not sure how "good" it's considered overall though.
Lightning blast sorcerer has been a lot of fun. Check lastepochtools.com/builds for build ideas 🙂
I suppose you could go for builds with more complicated skill rotations - Rogue comes to mind with things like stacking shadows with various skills and then proc'ing nuke skills that scale with shadows.... Mage builds also have at least two step, sometimes 3 skill rotations which require active play building up to a nuke skill.... Spellblade is pretty good at this, but its farily simple once you master it... A lot of LE does require interaction between various skills for optimal balance between clearing & single target so I am not sure if you will be able to get away from that kind of build - at least not if you intend end-game level difficulty pushing... For campaign, low tier dungeons and non-empowered monos you could literally (and successfully) run around like a grandmother with a wooden spoon bonking mobs if you wanted active gameplay - but procs/interactions are a must for high end builds...
when and why do you dismantle gears with rune of shattering? does t5 affixes if successfully dismantled give more shards?
Simple answer - to get the affixes you need for crafting on better gear... Usually a really rare or great affix you need will drop on an item with a poorly matched set of affixes or low FP making it a crap crafting item but the affix is useful... so you shatter it to potentially get the affix you want to craft on something else.... In my experience it is MUCH more likely that you will get affixes this way, than having them drop on their own as normal drops.... yes, higher Tier affixes can shatter into more copies of the affix than lower tiers...
thanks! that was helpful. i had some follow up questions but i got answers little later in ingame chat
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/ is probably the best place, upload your character (icon with an up arrow in the top left corner) & then click on the "Offence" tab.
i was actually wondering that. cause other people's builds seem like from ingame cause their loot filters have wrong things even if they mention in video that some of their affixes are not correct
Spells usually have moderate amounts of flat damage from the base skill then any adaptive spell damage from your caster weapon. Melee skills have very low base damage (usually 2) with the vast majority of your damage coming from the weapon
i guess theres an option somewhere to upload from ingame
oh from the planner website. i see. thanks
yeah, that's the easiest way to get your character into the build planner
nice nice!
any way to see the skill dps in this website?
There is a Calculations tab for a few skills, but Dammit recently mentioned on the forums that these need work and that he is planning to add more skills BUT that he is currently working on some other changes on the site that are going to take him about a month more... he also mentioned that adding the skill calcs is a manual programming task so its not quick to do as each skill is different....
As @balmy current mentioned in another post - currently the best way is to use the planner to get the basics and then build a spreadsheet to calc the skill dps...
IS all this going to work togheter and ill get abazilion of bleed procs or am i trippping
Anyone has experience with minion builds? I am playing one right now and start to have a lot of fun, but I want to know if it's generally good for endgame content or does it get too weak eventually?
I too would like to experiment on minion build for my 3rd char! Ingame chat said there are atleast 2 classes with minion builds. Was wondering what's the most popular minion builds atm? I assume primalist? And is it that with the elusive squirrel unique drop that I keep hearing about?
every build can become viable in LE if you put some thought in the synergies between skills/passives, necro summoner especially is pretty insane
Hello everyone! I'm thinking of buying Last Epoch and I would like to ask you how is the game's pace. I don't want something like PoE where you just zoom through and kill everything in one shot. I enjoy longer fights and the emphasis on positioning. Is this game right for me?
Yeap
No because Sanguine Obsession isn't a Hail of Arrows node. Skill nodes only affect their skills unless they specify that they are global effects.
Yes
Last epoch has longer boss fights and lower mob density
Bosses have telegraphed mechanics and stuff
oh ty! tought it was for All skills
No, otherwise all of those damage nodes would apply to all skills as well which would make the individual skill trees kinda pointless
that yeah but misinterpreted "form all sources"
For reference vast majority of spell have 20 adaptive dmg equivalent base dmg
Ran into some sort of UI bug which didnt resolve after restart etc. does this need to be bug reported?
I was trying to make a 3rd category in my bank in a hurry and it copied my 2nd category items completely. however i dont get extra items, whatever i remove either from VK or Category 3 in the picture, gets removed from both. I ofc cant delete Category 3 unless i remove everything in VK or category 3
--
Known bug, both tabs got identical id so are same. Stash file can be edited to fix it
oh, i see thanks! 👍
As @stone granite mentioned... You probably have a corrupted TabID / CategoryID in the globalstash save file. Its probably out of sequence or the IDs dont reference to correctly... You can figure it out if you understand basic data structures etc and if not, there are some posts in the bug section on the forum that you can use for help.
Haven't followed the news in a while since I have little interest in multiplayer and definitely not in the state it will be in on early access - do we have any content planned for the next patch or will it be mostly multiplayer-focused?
The gist of the latest blog/post is that current 'big patch' focus is multiplayer combined with stability fixes, whilst, continued content is not forgotten and aim towards a long running content focused game. And my understanding is that current major focus is to make mp and stability live. There were also mention about some mob and weapon graphic/look rework
+performance improvements...
Oh, I couldn't find the correct word. I labelled it 'stability' xD
What are the some of the easily acquired uniques that can make my 2nd char. leveling more enjoyable from the start? Any class is okay.
There really aren't any uniques that make levelling better. You can easily craft on your 2nd character from the start.
Unique boots are usually good for levelling new chars, they often have high MS boosts relative to their level requirements early on. For a void knight Dreamthorn only has a level requirement of 15 and is pretty strong. That's all I can think of.
Right this might be a bit of a strange one is it possible to do a retaliation build eg getting hit causes the damage (thorns build)
Kinda, think it requires a few uniques from what I read a while ago. No idea where that was though 😦
I'll have to look at last epoch builder to see what can be done
Just wasn't sure if it was even possible
it kind of works on spriggan form
can also do it with bear companion and bone golem
I wasn't sure erm I wonder if it might be worth trying with Sentinals as it's first skill retaliates just not sure which mastery would be best to boost it
oh, vengeance is capped tho and doesn't aoe
like you only get what...2 retaliates per time you attack
whereas the others are uncapped and will do it every hit or have a chance every hit
so they scale much better in aoe scenarios
and you can trigger your bone golem's retaliation yourself
since you can hit it
bear and bone golem also do AoE retaliation effects, so they don't scale linearly with number of things hitting them
spriggan probably has the biggest single retaliation damage numbers since they can easily scale flat thorns damage
Vengeance with Iron Blade and the retribution passive in the sentinel trees can be made to work in a pseudo retaliation type build... and it works ok (I think there is a recent build on lastepochtools) ... there are few uniques with retaliation type affixes (and the normal affix) and the primalist class has a build that also sort of matches this kind of play... but in my experience there is nothing that approaches the true "hit me and die" build of other arpgs... my gut feeling is that the devs have already said they want active play using skills and retaliation builds tend to be AFK type playstyles... but who knows....
I think another issue with retaliation builds is boss fights. If you put everything into retaliation you might find it doesn't work too well against bosses, and that's a big problem.
I tried making a shield throw build and gave up as soon as I fought Lagon
yeah, retaliation is miserable against any kind of single target
I think stuff like bear is actually okay, bear takes so little damage and retaliates with a spell that can be scaled rather then a flat value of "thorns" thorns is just a crappy mechanic tbh.
this is somewhere between a missing feature and a bug. Add any stash tab to the category should fix it IIRC
there is the skill in the passive tree that is aoe and procs when hit. The cd is so low that it is quite relevant. (never used it in empowered tho)
yeah, it doesn't scale amazingly
only 100% added melee scaling
and the cooldown means it caps out pretty quickly
Shade of orobyss can only be encountered on empowered timeline?
Any timeline
Ohh rare?
No
Inevitable on every timeline
Pointless to fight on anything other than empowered
Okay, if I'm getting this reference, it's quite lovely.
Does anyone know what the #support channel is for? or is it merely a placeholder for when the game comes out and then it will be unlocked?
I merely noticed that there aren't any messages on there and that it is locked.
Ah, just wondering. Thx for the quick response
I believe we had a post there redirecting people to the forums for support, but it seems to have gone missing.
New one's up
yo fellas. for the 1st time in my account, in a char, i finished all 3x 90s. how to unlock the 100? im lvl 83, havent finished all other lower lvl monos, and havent even opened access to lvl 80 mono. do i have to finish all the monos for 100/empowered?
Have you tagged the "thingie" in the middle of the map between the level 90 islands... ?
lmfao. i also got a 5 sec 'cut scene' . thanks! 👍
no one seem to be alive to answer me ingame at this time
Things tend to be quiet at this time of the day... and lots of players like me dont use the chat anyway..
yea i kinda guessed. it usually slow at current hours
uwu. the real grind starts now i guess
empowered mono... yip... all the good stuff drops now... and you have uncapped corruption to push and see if your seemingly OP builds really are good... hint, take it slow....
yea i need to do some research on 'corruption'. so far maps have been just the 'level' displayed. i never did the node which increases corruption in regular mono. now it is lvl 100 and lvl 100 corruption. i'll find out
Orobyss says hi... oh wait, you are already dead.... well, he says hi to your ghost then... 🤪

does corruption apply to all timeline or just that specific timeline where you killed orobyss?
it's per timeline
It's per timeline, but if a timeline has lower corruption than another killing a shade there grants bonus corruption based on the difference.
Shade of Orobyss nodes function as the borders of each timeline's map grid. Follow nodes in any direction far enough, and you'll hit an Orobyss.
Hopefully quick question! Will "+x% Increased Melee Minion Damage" affect something like "+y Melee Fire Damage for you and your Minions"
yes
Beautiful, thanks
it'd apply to the melee damage done by minions, obviously- not the fire damage you'd also be getting from that second modifier
Oh interesting
But Increased Minion Damage would affect that additional melee fire damage for minions?
both would increase the damage for minions, neither would increase the damage your character also gets from the second modifier
since the second modifier gives both you and your minions the flat melee fire damage
while the increased modifiers are minion specific
Makes perfect sense. I'm working on theorycrafting a rogue bee build, I think I have something, I just wanted to make sure certain affixes worked like I thought
do you guys stack gaze of orobyss before echo reset node or no? is there even a reason to stack?
Bonus corruption.
bonus for stacking?
Yeah, the more gaze of orobyss you have the more corruption you'll get from killing a shade
have a weird 2 part question. with objective being trying to figure out quickest way to lvl up char by pushing corruption. (researching for current but mostly for future char purposes :d)
- does stacking gazes increase shadow's stats?
- you can clear your negative player modifier by dying in a regular node then doing shade too right?
- Not sure. 2. Yes, or you can just do some monos closer to the centre (which will have weaker modifiers that don't last as long).
Freeze builds are viable? If yes what class will be better mage or primalist?
ty
I would say mage is better for freezing. Both spellblade and sorc have strong skills for freezing.
i found out you can't actually delete the negative modifiers by dying, the nodes were you failed still gives a negative modifier but just no rewards or positive modifiers :d
when is multiplayer eta
!Multiplayer
Multiplayer's still in development. Here's the latest news: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
When it's ready
speculatively we will see it between September and the end of this year.
Yo fellas. Had some thoughts I wanted to share. I just have a feeling maybe it may not be in agreement with some.
I'm just going through bunch of content creator builds that might interest me in different classes and significant playstyle differences so to learn things quicker and learn as much to about the game before mp. On my 3rd atm.
I look at a disparaging difference between builds which have good movement ability to zoom through maps and a significant that don't. In my personal and also strong opinion I definitely don't want to be 'walking' through tons n tons of long maps which most of them are. That atleast for me destroys the fun of endgame 'mapping'. I don't necessarily have a solution to this. What I can think of is maybe allowing to bind an extra movement ability skill which you don't lvl up. Would like to know if anyone has any thoughts on the matter. (Not on my suggestion but my dilemma that I feel too many slow 'walking' builds)
Another biggest issue is you can't really quick edit the builds based on content you do. I may want a standing slow build for arenas or node bosses/ mono bosses etc.
I have zero issue taking a brisk walk through the maps. You are start/stopping anyway.
This has been brought up, but the general idea is, if you want movement, invest in movement. Movespeed is actually really good vs just spamming movement abilities so you have options to an extent when it comes to trying to get from point A to point B. And if you want to use a movement ability, spec into one.
But I think most people agree having an extra slot for movement would potentially be too good.
This also just comes down to the strength and weakness of each class. Rogue gets lots of movement speed, sentinel gets a button to ignore 80% of damage. These are just trade offs that add to class identity. Its okay to say "this class is slow so I dont enjoy it"
I generally build around proccing one of my abilities so I can slot in a moveskill if I'm not otherwise specializing in it. I like the choice it presents.
Will the "Reroll" echoes also reroll the "reset" and "revert" echoes, or is it only the item nodes?
only the item nodes
Thank you
What's the reasonable max amount of skeleton minions? Also does the mod +crit chance for skeletons apply to vanguard?
can anyone tell me why i can only change 50% of my controller button inputs
while a year ago in the game i could do them all
If the devs took it out then that means i have to do it all manual
Without the annoying keyboard/gamepad switching occuring
i can imagine people having the same and then just exiting the game and not even starting to play lol
inb4 its my controller fault
but yeah whee
ok nnvm
ill check back in 6 months again
There's someth8ing with game dev and controllers i swear, like a curse or something really weird or buggy about the whole thing
almost every company including triple A epeienced teams hav ehad launches with that shit
So not blaming anything but yeah i don't see the logic in taking away 50% of customisation options
Also A being click, while the left pad is for mouse movement
Can anyone send me a picture of them holding their cointroller with that
Full controller support isnt available yet... thats planned for closer to launch. I dont use controllers, but based on others input there are two things you can do... Firstly, when setting controller bindings in-game, use the controller - dont use the keyboard /mouse while setting the controller bindings - this has been confirmed to mess up the bindings erratically.... Secondly, if you want to add missing controller functionality, using a third party translation/emulation app to link controller buttons to keyboard mappings etc can help in the meanwhile. As I dont use controllers I cannot help more than providing that info...
Just a note on your comment about quick editing of builds - that has been discussed back in the dark ages of the LE forum - the devs specifically DO NOT want this to be something that anyone can do with a single character... i.e. they dont want you to be able to instantly respec a build from being able to quickly run through mono echos, and then change build just before the fight with the end-boss... This is why skills need XP to re-earn levels and things like +skill affixes on gear dont remove the same skill points when you unequip them... So this particular issue is by design of the devs....
I mostly expected that response for anyone that would possibly respond to me. Wouldn't make me run any build that is 'walking' all maps though. Just not for me.
As for vapourfire's note, yea I understand. It's not exactly something I expect and happy of that restrictions. I wrote that as a multiplier con to the significant amount of 'walking' builds.
To respond to one of the comments, I understand the trade off, pros n cons between different classes or builds. But imo, builds that are just walking through each map but are significantly strong at boss fights are not a trade off. I value time spent doing content more than 1% time spent at bosses
Everyone enjoys diff things of course and that's upto you. I believe there is a strong disparaging difference in speed between builds and i for one am not going to follow 'majority' and play things that is walking every map
What build you play though is entirely up to you. I haven't played any build that was only good at one thing.
I tend to play builds that are hyper focused on one thing tbh, though there are obviously some broken builds with great clear and insane boss damage too
I think I need you to clarify what walking means? do you just not want to walk and would rather use movement skills? or do you not want to play slow builds?
Cause some of the fastest builds are the ones that have 150% movement speed, CDR is far too rare in this game to have a build compete with movement skills alone
or do you mean builds which have such bad AoE they cant clear mono monsters and just walk to objectives? those def feel a bit worse in the current mono landscape but you can still choose to kill monsters if you want. Most builds even the slowest mobbers are still gonna be able to clear monos okay.
Strange question, does anyone know if shadows' skills // damage are snapshotted on creation?
And, similarly, do shadows' skills draw from the player's stats in some form?
Shadows are an extension of the player so yes, they use your stats (with the exception of the "skills shadows use do x% increased damage" affix that only affects them)
I'd imagine that they probably behave like either a minion or a spell in that their "stats" are snapshot on the shadow creation. Alternatively, it could be on skill use.
Gotcha. Yeah, essentially I'm looking for clarification on something similar to Concentration + Shadow creation. Say I have concentration, use a skill that creates a shadow, then get hit before I "activate" the shadow's attack, does the shadow retain the damage from concentration because it was created before I lost concentration, or does it, too, lose the damage increase from concentration?
Thanks for responding 😄 Appreciate the help
Hey any leveling builds for mage that are 'fun" to play i.e. homing fireball(cant really call it leveling build since you need lvl 15+ skill to get all necessary abilities to make it work afaik)
Maybe I should try nova and max AoE so it covers large area, is there a way to make Teleport lower cooldown?
Or all dash/teleport abilities in this game are supposed to be on few seconds cooldown?
Not looking for the most optimized build, rather something fun.
I went into sorcery class.
Lightning blast sorcerer is fun (imo), and can level from the start with it
Is it the one where u max Chain Lightning?
not sure... I built mine kinda sorta following Jabbafunk's guide but I'm sure there are multiple patterns 🙂
should be able to find his guide on the forums
I never maxed chains, seemed unnecessary
yeah I saw crit glacier with the amulet, seems op to rush through the game, but not fun really.
Tbh at this point I think that I just need something to kill boss quickly as I am rushing through the story anyway.
haha I'm confused, want something to rush, but don't want to play the meta rusher? 😄
but that's fair, I think that build is fun, fun to one shot stuff and glacier sound is so chunky and satisfying
thats one of the nice things about LE IMO... you can make "good" builds with just about everything.. there's really no strongly defined "meta" build or builds that totally dominate everything
agree 100%, especially when talking about leveling, but what is good/fun to one person is not the same for all...so that's why i usually just create my own (and why i struggle to answer these types of questions/understand what people are looking for)
fair enough.. my experience so far, with the LB sorcerer and multiple other chars, is that I've gotten them all to 100, and readily clearing dungeons and empowered mono up to about 300 corruption before anything got really challenging
each character type is good at some things, not at others, different playstyles 🙂 so its all about finding a playstyle you enjoy IMO 🙂
or playstyles, though that makes the gear grind much longer 😉
altaholics gotta do it every which way 🙂
or play HC 😄
something else that I just don't get 🙂 but to each their own 🙂
yes yes, we need more HC gamers in LE 👀
kids + work + HC is a bad combo... I'll pass
HC death isn't final so it's not toooo bad.
so a few days late to honor Bee Day but these just dropped in my lap.
what should I do with them?
Pew Pew!
Go for lightning nova build for lvling with meteor on single target, really strong and fast lvling
Wear them proudly and release the BEES!!
ty I will try
Btw is there a point where your minimum skill level is 20(or w/e max is)
Resetting skills forces me to level them up again which takes a while.
max min level is 10 but you can increase that if you use + to skills. T7 exalted and omnis grants you +5 skills so your min level would be 15
so how long does it take to get from 10 to 20 later on?
If you are level 100 then all you need is 1 echo with exp tome reward
Anyone can spoil me what to do in nThe overgrown alcove?
Post from 2 years ago from the dev mentions that someone figured out the "secret" so I am wondering what the secret is.
Is it anything I can do early on or do I need high level character?
I'm pretty sure it's an unused side area at the moment
possibly related to as of yet unimplemented endgame feature, but we don't know.
Is it useless to have more than 100% crit avoidance, or is it good if enemies have 200% crit chance?
@ me your replies
No, critical strike avoidance is a defensive modifier, so 100% chance is a total 100%. Anything over 100% would not have any effect unless you are inflicted with Critical Vulnerability which reduces Critical Strike Avoidance by 10% and increases chance to be crit by 5% per stack. However, no enemies currently in the game should be able to apply this ailment (it is unique to the Rogue class).
I believe the game mechanics encyclopedia (also known as game guide - accessible by hitting "G" in game) should also clarify when searching for this stat, that having over 100% has no effect.
Ah it does, Critical Strike Avoidance is inside Critical Strikes
should've used the search bar instead of pressin the buttons xd
thanks a milion
This is definetely gonna free up my boots slot and my blessing slot (all hail Spriggan 🪲 )
How do the loot tables from Monoliths/Empowered Monoliths work?
Do they replace / change the drops or do Empowered Monoliths just add more items on top of the base one
In short:
-I want to get Bhuldar's Wrath
-lvl 90 mono drops Bhuldar's Wrath / Hekir's Vessel / Logi's Hunger
-Can I get it from Empowered Spirits of Fire?
Bosses can drop the normal mono items in empowered yes.
Generally you want to farm in empowered if you can, cause its gonna be faster boss rotations as well as higher chance for LP thanks to being a 100 zone.
I think I linked 2 tabs together somehow?
I used to have U.Weapons and U.Gear then i moved my items into U.W. and U.A.
But now My Idols and Exalt tab fused again?
How do i toggle it off
Sounds like you may have corrupted your stash... If you search the forum for Stash corruption, you will find some threads about this and how to manually fix it yourself if it is in fact the issue (if the in-game solution doesnt work then it may require you to edit your global stash file and fix the TabID & CategoryID values)
is it because i have tabs named 1-2-3-4-5 in different categories?
Been runnin empowered spirit of fire all morning @sharp quartz
What causes this?
Fixed it by sending everything 1 by 1 to general and then remaking and sending everything else outwards ( drag drop features for tabs/categories would be pog )
1st time i see this happen in 180h
Its not your naming of the tabs. It seems to be caused by moving tabs around with the mouse and "mis-dropping" the tab on a category, but its hard to confirm exactly... What you did by moving things around is the "in-game" solution i was referring to above... Thats the simplest solution....
Touch wood, I am 1800h in and it hasnt happened to me... (yet)... but I tend to use the tab window to assign them to categories rather than drag/drop them with the mouse.... The devs (Mike) knows about this issue so we just have to be careful till he gets a chance to deal with it...
anyone know if this stacks?
Yes it does & any hit will proc it.
It used to not be a DoT (which meant it could crit) but they changed it during the Great Sentinel Re-Work (so it's now a DoT as well as an ailment).
nice, ty
Black Hole>Armageddon says:
The meteors are affected by damage increases in this tree, but not by nodes in the meteor tree.
Is it safe to assume that the meteors are not affected by any nodes in the meteor tree (like increased area), but would still be affected by items, such as Vilatria’s Downfall, which converts Meteor to Lightning?
Nope, just tested it, they are fire meteors even with the staff on.
RIP.
They aren't meteors, they're just rocks from spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace
They should call em comets or something
Black hole maybe wouldnt be one of the worst Spells in the game if this totaly dumb restriction would go away
I dont get why it is there at all anyway
It's not really a "restriction", it's a sub-ability which happened to share the same name. We're aware of a few cases of this which are on a list to be updated (such as the Skeleton Mage's "Sacrifice" skill, which shares the same name as the Acolyte's "Sacrifice", but is a separate skill).
Adding in real meteor would simply be cool and maybe even make Black hole worth to use
Skill needs love for sure
Noone using it i cant remember and build with it and thats sad cause it is really a cool idea
Its worth noting that the blackhole tree has a lot more dmg than meteor and the mana cost ends up being better considering the alternative is to use meteor's mana cost when its procd. IMO the thing limiting BH use is its 14s cd.
Black Hole on its own could use some love, but isn’t terrible. There’s just no point in taking Armageddon with certain builds (like Lightning Meteor).
Would this be inherited by Shadow Daggers?
No
It should do, have you tested it Perry?
do you guys have any suggestions for a very cold centric build? but not avalanche
I'm not sure there's a point in taking it in any build. It sounds great but isn't it like 200 mana to cast or something absurd?
Frozen orb sorc?
Not sure if this is a bug
doing Alaric's Revenge and after killing the Osprix around where the leader normally manifests
he isn't coming out.
I've gone all over the area and killed everything
first time this has happened,
anyone else?
200 additional mana for Armageddon, yes. But, that’s 200 mana for…. What, 6 meteors? Assuming the meteors are still buffed by other added damage (spell/fire damage bonuses), I’d imagine it would be decent.
There is not a whole lot of attempts for a full cold build, is there
Frostbite with cold static orb, ice barrage is decent
Volcanic orb is like d2 frozen orb, not cold static orb. Cold static orbits you instead of projectile with smaller projectiles
Glacier build is technically a cold build too, but it just 1shots stuff
Eeeh, not really a fan of mage in general but I will look into it
Then really the only option you haven't shot down is some suboptimal cold primalist lol only 2 classes in the game with cold builds atm
I forgot bowmage tbh
Rogue with reign of winter
Yeah not a lot of build options sadly
Thanks though, I'm gonna try to come up with something to seems like
There are options but you keep declining them
Arena question, when i have option to choose rewards how much you pushing, i mean i try to go for best one but in the same time I'm giving more damage to final boss, or waves. I wonder it's good idea to get maybe 2 good possible drops and go easier with last choice. Just to not give to much extra bonuses to last Boss/wave
Specially when build is not ready yet or fully tested
Sounds like a good plan.
When i see sometimes those bonuses, +90% , +100%, and add the last one +180% to damage, i can easily die while making small mistake, from arena Boss
Because I either already did it or I know I would hate it
That looks like a bug. From testing with the character I was using, I'd have expected ~33% more damage with the node than without. https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/shadow-daggers-applied-by-umbral-blades-does-not-appear-to-inherit-the-flat-throwing-damage-from-jagged-carvings-node/48919
Hey guys, I hope this is the place to post this! Can anyone explain to me please why this random helmet is not showing up as Emphasized? It has total tier of affixes 9, but only shows if I put the rule with Emphasize to total tier of 5, but not 6.
I'm still getting the hang of the loot filter myself
is it because the two tiers are what it looks for in the total?
hence if your two tier total is less than 7 it won't show?
lets say mana and health are two of the tiers you want
fire resistance is NOT.
the total tiers of mana and health is 5. not 7.
so it won't show with your second filter.
I'll be curious what the answer is.
@loud harbor The filter still has some issues, most have to do with Emphasized items, just so everyone knows.
this is an interesting idea, thanks! it's...possible... I think I had it set up so that resists and health are those I'm interested in, so that would've been a total of 6. but maybe I'm misremembering.
I have never run companions with an LE build yet
so I may be not understanding something about how they work
in upper left I have six wolves.
Only three are showing.
I didn't see any downed ones anywhere on the board.
it's possible they didn't get revived and 'died' as it were
but then why does it still show six?
I never use the total tiers thing so I can't be certain, but maybe it's checking the total tiers of all affixes on the item and not just the ones you are specifying. I use the minimum tiers instead and generate my own rarities with this. I have a youtube video showing how to do it.
There is a bug with pets where they will literally blend into each other so even if you had 2 active it will look like 1. Might be same issue with companions?
When do we get this as a feature and it creates a chimera?
Nodes in Beastmaster that make you only able to have one really big companion. 😛
But all three heads? Yeah we need that. Stat.
So they're still there? When I port back to EoT all six show up again. Maybe that is what's happening. Thanks!
Any hit can apply any ailment assuming you have a chance to
Ailments are based on ailment chance, not the damage you do. You could do lightning blast and ignite so long as you have a chance to ignite
oh
If you press G in game the guide tells you all you need to know about it
it's very handy
Hi guys what’s the best way to get dragonsong bow?
I tried a few rune of ascendancy alrdy and trying mono but the unique bow echo is hard to find
I hate RNG
It's already much better than before (no specific kind of unique rewards echoes), at least you can go about calculating expectations for the number of unique echoes that need to be completed
Its just RNG.... If I recall correctly I wasted a dozen Runes to finally get it and then got a second one the very next echo I did.... so nothing to offer other than getting the bow drop blessing from Blood Frost Death Mono and then farming Fall Of the Outcasts mono for the Unique bow echo rewards....
do u have to reset web by increase corruption?
Nah... but as Deias mentions, higher corruption improves drops.
Not really, the web is infinite afaik, but higher corruption does influence your drops so who knows it may help
if i just wanna aim for the unique bow echo rewards, i dont have to reset it right? just keep expanding?
Yup, you can just keep expanding for more unique nodes if you want
shld i clear the 3 main stability quest as soon as i have the stability? to get blessing right?
thats how it works... yes... You are likely going to have to run the blessings more than once to ge the ones you need tho... to prevent getting too bored, I would swap between the two monoliths cause you may just be lucky and the bow drops...
wow how long u took to get it
Monoliths are the end-game game so they are were you end up farming for specific uniques & blessings so you should expect to do them over and over again and expect to kill monolith bosses (and Orobyss) multiple times to get their drops... At empowered monoliths (level 100) it doesnt take that long to run through blessings and there are various boosts in stability/corruption to make it quicker....
No
oh i ran the same stability quest final abomination again but now asking me to compare my blessing. i chose keep my current one cuz its better - 15% unique drop rate
did i do right?
Sure... thats fine... its the one I always use for the Abomination Mono...
Remember some Monoliths will improve drop rates, others will improve your character stats... ones on the left are drops etc, ones of the right are stats (until the very top of the mono at least)...
does those echo reward with rune drops actually drops ascendance too?
For me more like the gold drop chance, because a page of stash is going to 900,000, painful
Yes.. they can drop but they are very rare...
oops
Gratz.... Legendary Potential is for turning a Unique into a Legendary item by combining the unique with an exalted in the special forge at the end of the Temporal Sanctum Dungeon.... I’ve often wanted to access it outside the game so I’ve recreated it here, with some additional content. do you guys know any unusual dot builds
Define unusual
something like fire warpath? is kiiiinda unusual
idk, hard to explain
It's exactly what it states. Some of your skills have passive nodes that allow you to hit your allies instead of minions
Think goblins and trolls. goblins pick at the big bad troll which just enrages the crap out of it.
firebrand is not a spell so this is not a good idea right?
It obviously exists for a reason
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/0oN2bMXo can I get some feedback with the build? Skills and passives
is this a surge build?
Okay, that was frustrating. Just did the Lightless Arbor run. T3 as I'm working up to 4. Got to end boss no problem. Destroyed both pyres and lit the kindling. Mountain Beneath got to 3/4 health and then just couldn't be damaged anymore after that. The previous time I did it I had no problems whatsoever. Bug? Did I miss something that makes him immune. I was playing a really tanky character so I could take hits most of the time and keep going back and forth checking to see if I missed a pyre but they both indicated they were burning.
It was me, I buffed him from afar.
whats the best way to get the 4 affixes i want on an item? do i filter the loot by any 2 of the 4 , then gamble on the remaining 2 using the glyphs?
You definitely want to start with at least 2 of the affixes you want, generally focus on prefixes before suffixes. You can chaos the suffixes if they are already filled, or despair them if they are low tier.
got it senpai
you can allways try to chaos something you dont want in something usefull
some affixe slots dont have many possible rolls - some have a LOT
so its a good idea to start on the stuff that has what you want from the "big pool" and try to chaos the common affixes on it
such as shield
Folks, I have another question please: how does one inspect/tooltip non-basic skills, like e.g. Flame Burst off the Holy Aura? The first node that allows me to trigger Flame Burst doesn't have it pop up with a tooltip, only the next node (Improved Flame Burst) pops up with a tooltip. Also, in Last Epoch Build Planner we don't get this tooltip at all and I can't mousover a mouseover-popup tooltip window, because it disappears as soon as I move my cursor from the first icon I'm mousing over.
I've ran into this several times, where nodes will say something like "you can trigger an X skill" but then won't show you the dps/damage/description/scaling tags of the X skill.
(and pressing Alt only expands the description of the node)
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do beyond the existing alt and plain tooltip info.... Mike (dev) has said that they are going to be updating all tooltips to be more relevant and even put up some UI posts about what they are planning (search the forum)... One thing tho.... Tooltips - especailly things like dps - can be very dependent on other things/situational data so its unlikely that the devs will be able to "perfect" the information that they display.... Regarding seeing what the sub-skills do, Dammitt has put this up on his website https://www.lastepochtools.com/skills/ - so you can see the actual sub-skill defaults and where / what affects it... generically obviously.
For LEBP,hold the shift and then you can click the button
But like Vapourfire said, it would be faster to go directly to the skill page to look up the sub-skills
That's great guys, thanks a lot! I think that having as much clarity as possible directly in the game is EXTREMELY important, especially since Last Epoch (at least in my eyes) is aiming to be a more approachable than PoE and enabling you to craft and try out builds without going to like Path of Building or other external tools. So having good tooltips is key.
They already are really good, it's just these extra things :)
i tried rune of ascendance on belt, 2 times i got the set belt.. Do i get a chance for unique belt instead?
I have a question regarding Ignite damage scaling. If I'm applying the ignite with a skill, on which I have specced a node that increases the damage of that skill, will the Ignite also deal more damage? Note that the node doesn't specifically say damage with hits, it's just says damage.
For some reason, if you hold alt over a node behind the one that gives you the proc/subskill (such as Improved Flame Burst) then you'll get the tooltip for the subskill.
The set belts are all common rarity so its more likely that you will get them... the uniques are far rarer but you can get them, just have to be luckier...
If you mean "XX deal more damage" in the skill's specialization talent, yes. And if it's "XX deal more hit damage", no.
Thanks!
firebrand
Wait what, so if I ignite for the usualy 37 damage over 3 seconds with e.g. Warpath which may have a node "Warpath does +100% damage" then the Ignite will do 74 damage over 3 seconds instead????
Warrior's Fury? You can try, quite simple, to ensure that there is no other dot chances, compare the damage with and without that node
I was being theoretical about the specific node, but rather the concept of skill damage boost translating to ailments they inflict. Ailment damage is clearly listed in the character sheet, e.g. my Ignite damage is currently about 250 or whatever. So the concept that ignites applied by different skills seems wrong.
Would make sense of course if ailments scaled with the damage of skills that apply them, but the game guide gave me the impression this is not the case.
I was mostly only taking surge for mobility, not really for damage
Different skills do different ailment damage
The character sheet is basically just a rough estimate or a "Baseline" to follow
So the ignite damage listed in character sheet is just its base damage x effect x duration x increases x generic mores etc.
That is also the total damage an ignite inflicts, not its dps, so duration increases the total damage dealt by an ignite, but wont increase dps directly.
How skills apply ailments is essentially an important part of ailment builds in its own right in some cases. Hungering souls ailment builds work really well because it has insane amounts of generic more damage in the tree 🙂
Yes, the DOT base damage is not affected by the size of the hit damage when triggered, but some of the MORE that affects the skill will also be applied to the DOT it applies (including the attribute INC bonus for that skill as well), perhaps a bit counter-intuitive, but it does work that way
Surge can easily do a few million damage one shot, try it as a single target skill if you are interested
Seems hard to pull off just cause that node for more damage but more mana cost seems harsh. is that actually per stack? so you end up at the end paying 50+ mana for a cast?
Although Volatile Reversal can be used to restore Cyclone's exhausted mana, the damage of Bleeding Cyclone is still not very high for a single target (compared to Javelin)
maybe, we will see
anyway, any feedback on the build?
I dont really play spellblade sorry 😔
me neither, guess I will roll with it and report back
Hi guys, Do you know how can I hit my own golem? I can't find a skill that hits allies
Rip Blood → Marrow Drinker
thanks!
marrow shards can also do it, but rip blood is the most common use
anyone got this , how long it take to farm the boss to get
Yes, as long as the modifier on the node is either generic ("Warpath does more damage") or a relevant element ("more fire damage" or "more elemental damage") & doesn't specify hits.
And Marrow Shards with the Apathy node. Both Marrow Shards & Rip Blood can be spec'd to hit the Bone Golem twice per cast.
It's a rare drop & it depends how far into the echo web you can successfully push (since echos further from the start give more stability which means you need fewer of them to get enough for the boss).
it's like 10-15% drop chance, modified by corruption level and rarity modifiers
if you're at mid-high corruption you can do boss loops in less than 30 minutes easily
thank ou
What number would be considered mid high corruption value for this echo
300-400
Is there any way to farm the idols tht I want? Or use anything to get those affixes on idols
Hey I have not played in a couble of patch’s and good builds I can follow? I want to get back into the game again
@narrow valley https://youtu.be/YxOrvZD1f2A a good start

theres a few more on my part in the description but I can recommend all of those currently
Ok thanks I will look tough them and see which one look fun. Thanks 🙂
Is there a way to see what the different ignites caused by different skills would tick for? If the damage increase to triggering skill increases the DoT damage, this should be clearly stated in the game guide :-/ (I might be blind, but I didn't see it there)
No it is entirely RNG
https://www.lastepochtools.com/skills/ MIGHT have what you are looking for.... its the only place I know of that lists skills/subskills to that level of detail.
Thanks, LET are a great resource, but don't list this information (e.g. what causes ailment scaling).
alliment scale with matching affixes and matching more stuff from the skill that applies the ailment
stuff like "skill X deals more damage" causes ailments of that skill to do more damage
"skill x deals more hit damage" obviously does nothing for the ailments of that skill
imho the most helpfull list
yeah, there are very few skills that innately scale ailements. The only ones i remember are serpent strike and puncture. Or are you talking about ailment scaling in the skill tree?
is it possible to keep up about 34 mana per cast
Depends on the class and the cast speed
if you're using mana strike, yeah
put mana strike and whatever skill you wanna spam on your bars, put the main skill in a more leftward slot. hold both buttons
you'll use the main skill whenever you can afford it and use mana strike otherwise
that sounds extremely painful to pull off
it is. https://i.imgur.com/1L6YPiK.png
That being said, you cant find your ingame value for each skill you just have to do it by hand.
also, in what order does the mana increase and decrease nodes apply to mana strike
because there is a flat mana node, a +% mana node and a -%mana node
and depending on what order you calculate it in it gives you vastly different results
(base + flat)x(total increased - total decreased)x(more)x(less)
for an example:
The base is 15.
You have 3 points in Arcanists Blade, for +9 flat.
You have 4 points in Mana Drain for 80% more.
You have Teleporting Strikes for 80% less.
15+9 = 24
24 x 1.8 = 43.2
43.2 * .2 = 8.64
So you'd get 8.64 mana per hit
There's no increased or decreased in the tree
I see
maybe I shouldn't take that node then
since firebrand takes a lot of mana, would it be a good idea to take this somehow
Yeah, that node and blade weaver are both super good if you can make use of them
Volka's Razor is currently bugged in that it doesn't affect any proc'd spells (despite saying that it does in the text)
holy crap. this might very well solve me having to hold down my Lunge key when I want to keep attacking but lunge when available.
That little extra they added to the left mouse button now makes sense. Duh. I is smartz.
General question regarding skill wording
This is a node in Warpath.
When it says
"Subsequently bleed and ignite chance from ALL sources are converted to time rot....etc."
What exactly does ALL mean
just the nodes in that skill
or anywhere in your character you might have bleed chance and ignite chance
(say from passives and other skills and gear, etc."
any your character might have
okay, i just wanted to be sure
I've seen some comments about other wording in skills that just mean that skill so wanted to clarify for the future planning (pun intended.)
its clear when thats the case, lightning blast has that wording
"Lightning Blast now has a chance to freeze and its base lightning damage is converted to cold damage. Consequently this damage scales with increases to cold damage, but not increases to lightning damage. Shock chance from this tree is converted to chill chance."
which calls out only the shock chance in its own tree gets converted
but you can use other sources to still shock
with warpath it converts everything for warpath from all sources
Great to know. thanks for the clarity!
addendum question.
I'm going to guess that because Fiery Dragon Shoes are creating the Firetrail
that these ignite stacks though
"Each patch applies 4 stacks of ignite per second to nearby enemies. 5 second cooldown."
won't be converted?
no because that applies 4 stacks of ignite
it doesn't give you 400% chance of ignite, it applies 4 stacks
Ah. so something that automatically 'ignites' or 'bleeds' doesn't get converted
because it isn't a 'chance.'
which one is better? I can't find more points
yeah
It only affects Warpath though.
That's what 4 stacks is, 400% ignite chance. The issue is that it's not Warpath causing the ignites, it's the boots.
ooor maybe I remove 2 points from ward gained per fire aura stack because it's not that much
Wait, so just warpath nodes?
Not everything?
So ALL in this case means ALL WARPATH.
Not actually ALL.
Got conflicting answers which means
a) build better puzzles and
b) gotta test now to find out which is which.
Does poison scale with physical damage?
no,scale with poison damage
anything in a skill tree is only for that skill unless it explicitly states otherwise
Bleed and Ignite from all sources are converted to time rot chance for Warpath with that node.
so if you have bleed or ignite chance that applies to your character from anywhere, Warpath instead gets that much time rot chance
no, poison is damage over time and poison
The conversions to time rot only apply to warpath, say you have 200 ignite on your chest piece, it would be ignite for everything but warpath, and instead would be timerot.
@brittle atlas @warm birch Ah!!!! Okay, now I think I understand.
I was only thinking about Warpath with my question.
When I meant 'all' I meant all other places on myself I have that have ignite/bleed
are added as %time rot to my Warpath.
I wasn't thinking that it converted sources globally, for every skill I have.
Thanks all.
Nah, the conversion only applies to warpath.
the conversion works with global ignite/bleed from anywhere, but the conversion only converts for warpath
so your warpath would turn the bleed/ignite from your equipped weapon into time rot chance, but your vengeance would not.
is the -54% a bug?
or does masochist negative stat scale with level because it is gradually getting lower as I level up
Skill nodes only ever affect their own skill unless they specify that they are global (not "all").
Masochist is a flat -50% applied to your character's damage so for it to be showing as -54% means that you've probably got something else giving a negative modifier as well. If you could link your build from the build planner that'd help.
hi guys, I am a bit confused as to what this modifier does: "high health enemies deal x% increased damage"; what does "high health" mean exactly?
Is it a threshold e.g. above 50% HP for ALL types of mobs or does it refer to elites / bosses (big health bar) enemies?
on some nodes there should be an Alt text explaining high health ... afaik it was ... 60%
or 65%? somewhat around that number (it is 65% !)
Thank you, I wasn't even aware nodes have alt texts 🙃
This is how I was understanding it. and expected it.
the various explanations where just confusing (to me.)
Hey all, in the loading menu there is a message that says echoes drop more rewards based on how much you killed in the previous echo. Does this mean the specific echo before the current one in the tree, or the previous one in general?
No, the current one you're doing, the more you kill in it the bigger the reward from the chest at the end (not the bonus reward you get if you don't die)
ahh, the middle chest is the reward if you dont die right?
correct
I'm talking about the chest-shaped chest to the right of the place you go after you've exit the echo
right, thanks 🙂
Hi there the multiplayers arrived and some friends of mine start being interest to join me play LE.. but they asked me one question I can't answer.. Will there be a clan/guild system on the game? Forwards thank you for your answer👍 💪
The devs haven't said much about clan/guild functionality, other than that they want it to be more than just a private chat channel.
Ok so they confirm there will be a clan /guild system
But we for now don't know how it will work
I remember they talking about guilds just in a recent stream
Thanks for your answers 😘 💪 👍
It's a feature we're interested in, but not currently planned. It's still an item we discuss, but we haven't come to an answer of how we would implement such a system that we're happy with. As mentioned, we want it to be more than just a chat channel, but we're not sure what more
Will more people/bigger party increase the difficulty similar to PoE? (Like 4 players = 200% more Monsterlife + 100% more items)
Yes, multiplayer scales difficulty with number of players present
is it possible to get somewhat close to capped phys res on mage?
totally
Just having a perfect phys res blessing from empowered caps you. With min and a t5 you cap.
was thinking of using a bone amulet
Does the soulfire unique (when it converts the base damage to fire) make hungering souls a fire skill or would it still be considered a necrotic skill for things like Isadora set?
Depends whether it changes the tags or not.
I don't know, it just says converts the damage, I don't play aco so I can't check.
Yes it changes the tag to fire so no it would no-longer be a necrotic skill but a fire skill
Ok.
Might test it just to make sure it isn't a weird technicality because I got an idol for shield throw that converts it to void but it still has the physical damage notch lit up even though it only has the void tag so it would technically be considered a physical skill.
Visual bug, just tried.
once you're into empowered content is becomes pretty easy to cap resistances almost entirely via blessings and item implicits
if you don't need to use a particular unique amulet, bone amulet is a great base
idk if I use any unique amulet
one of, if not the, best for most classes
on a spellblade, generally not unless you're using stuff like Orian's Eye + Ashen Crown + Ravenous Void + Prism Wraps combo
wouldnt rav void be detrimental? as far as I know, damage cant convert twice as per the devs, isnt rav void % of phys taken as void? you would not then get that phys that converted to void then converted to fire because damage cant convert twice
And most orian eye builds run no void res since void gets taken as fire in that case. But rav would make you take the full void damage so you would need void res
I mean if you go through the effort of getting the void res it is worth it just cause rav void is so good, but yeah.
are there any relatively easy ways to get decent HP? hit empowered monos and I'm getting 1 hit left and right despite having good defensive stats in all other areas
trying to incorporate more HP but it's like pulling teeth to get much
are gold rings worth using for the small extra ele res?
a good step without changing gear is to redo passives. You might be taking a lot of greedy offensive passives, flat health in your passive choice can go a long way. But some classes just have less health options as well. Paladins/sentinels in general get lots, while mages generally dont have as much.
playing rogue atm, I can spend 16 points for 88HP, but that kind of seems like a lot for not that much
yeah rogue is another one who does not have as much hp in passives, just prioritize hp affix
I've been looking, but I haven't been getting anything decent, and what I have gotten forces me to completely tank X other defensive stat to slot it
basically playing defensives whackamole lmao
what other defenses we talkin
cause if its like dodge or armor, health is better because you most likely have those other defenses from other stuff like shurikens and dodge from passives.
for example I have my woven chest, if I replace it with the rare chest I have with 15% HP and 60 something flat, I lost 100% CSA
if I replace my resist rings with the CSA rings I have I lose nearly all my resists
etc
plus my CSA rings are complete garbo with minion stats
Yeah sounds rough
rogue has basically full reliance on gear since she has no res/health to cheese with passives. Just gotta grind it out 😔

Does this game have Headhunter/Mageblood/Exalted Orb level rare items? Seems like some of the crafting modifier items have some solid "rareness" but nothing to like freak out over.
Extremely rare
Assuming the very rare items are higher value percents here?
Does blood golem retaliate with bone nova when hit?
There are tiers of rarity in uniques, but also legendary potential is extremely rare on some uniques. I imagine there will be items for trade in the future that will be rarer than items in PoE, but in truth they will only ever be marginal improvements to what you have
any unique item without potential is "obtainable in a normal mans world" sphere no crazy "farm for 2000 hours stuff"
the really rare stuff are usefull double exalts, high potential rare uniques and so on
but all that is only power and never build enabling in any way
Legendary potential is what makes some uniques so good. However, items like Ravenous Void are still very rare and very strong by themselves.
Bastion, aurora's time glass, especially with LP ...are insane
Do enemy affixes in Mono always add directly to the same description?
Such as resist, dodge, and crit avoid
Yes
There is a lot of type of Elemental damage mods like in my case, %fire damage, +fire damage, Elemental damage, melee Elemental damage etc
Is it best to stack 1 as much or spread them and get some of multiple
for increased you just use whatever is more efficient that would be "increased fire/elemental/melee" but for flat you want to get that too, so "+10 melee fire damage" you want to get as much of both as you can. stacking all one or the other is bad, diversify your damage scaling a bit.
has their been any updates about multiplayer?
!multiplayer
Multiplayer's still in development. Here's the latest news: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
if I only have 1 item selected for my filter, why does it say 2
