Yeah. Just keep playing the game. At some point they drop like candy
Get to empowered monoliths, push corruption to 500+ and you will get at least 1 key per echo. At least approximately. Never really counted them but I often don't even loot them. I only loot them if they are close to other items. And will only sell them for the money they provide.
You can ask other players like Arborus who are playing the game for a long time.
I wonder if stacking smite on throwing attack hit with javelin siege ballista would help solve the clear issue
didn't even make this connection until now
smite with the lightning bolts
my experience is that it doesn't particularly help the clear
at least not very substantially
imma try to stack 4 2x2 idols for the smite chance
was one of the first things I tried last patch when javelin came out and it was pretty underwhelming
I finished the campaign with it and said "ok that was enough" basically lol
I'm having an ok experience
damage is kinda low but I don't even have the unique spear equiped yet
but also I have not much damage specced in anyways
tbh I just wanted to try electrify
I was doing some electrify focused stuff and the damage was really bad even with quite a lot of twinked out leveling gear
I'd have to see if I can find my recording of the majasa kill
it was really slow
I'm gonna ignore all the warnings and proceed
worst case I just don't try electrify again
(and also javelin lmao)
that's from 083 release day iirc
so majasa has been nerfed slightly since then
september 5th or something?
yeah that doesn't look good
hmmm
when I get to Majasa and I remember, I'll record my own kill as well
the big thing would probably be having volatile reversal
I was thinking that
was going with sigils (that I don't have specialized) since it has both a tonne of ignite chance and some defensive buffs
for mana and the stupid strong debuffs
you could go sigils, I just don't really like using it most of the time personally
yeah, they have a really high mana cost for some reason
my build also utilizes smite spam so it may or may not work out
if it doesn't I just switch sigils out with reversal
I'd definitely use reversal over sigils
the damage increase is waaaaay higher
the debuffs on reversal stack
so if you reversal on top of any enemy on cooldown you can pretty often get them to be taking 260% increased damage
wait they stack
ye
I know my next specialization then
honestly that sounds like an incoming nerf to volatile reversal
an eventual incoming nerf 😌
probably
it's a bit insane
but it's part of what keeps damage over time builds good/viable on sentinel
Interested to see your take on siege barrage, it's my favorite throwing build
this is still not even level 50 so the take isn't fully running yet
once I equip the bident then I'll be able to know for sure if it's good
The clear is not amazing. I was using hammers for clear for a pretty long time
You know what's insane? Firefly came out 20 years ago.
aura of decay can't 'hit'?
by default it doesn't hit
it has some nodes that add components that hit
and its poison application scales with a percentage of your poison chance
you mean poison nova or poison volt?
oh bolt yeah
poison nova, putrid bombs, and poison bomb add elements that hit
yeah ngl this is pretty wack
harbinger right? any nodes i need to take specifically?
for volatile reversal?
yep
me personally, I just wanted pure damage from my reversal
so I went with both Timelost Vitality and Timelost Wisdom
along with both debuffs
and I learned from Arborus that the debuffs stack
so yeah
big damage
but its only really usable vs bosses right./
as in the application
since it pulls you backwards in time no
?
you'd only want to be using them against bosses really
Generally yeah
ok sounds good.
it does pull you backwards so keep that in mind
a small tradeoff for like 2x damage
if i have about 70 vit, since spell damage is so high for void spells, should i just scale it off spell damage % inc?
sure, unless you already have quite a lot inc damage
no im asking if it scales harder with spell damage as opposed to void damage
ahh okay
I don't know how much base spell damage really anything has in this game, but if it has a lot of base damage already then yeah it sounds like inc damage would work better
usually base damage is very low
can look at epoch tools or tunk lab
most meele attacks have 1 base damage 😛
Volatile is a game changer, most noticeable dps boost you can get... I only found out yesterday that you can put points into half of other 2 subclasses, volatile slaps
Full charge rebuke, holy aura and volatile
Then spin2win
Too bad lunge has no utility besides movement yknow
I miss the old crit
I'm stuck in the story. I can't kill Majasa on her second form. She's too fast and too strong for me. My rogue can't keep up
Been trying for the past hour. Unfortunately she reverts back to her first form if I die. I can't even cheese my way out of it by slowly chipping away at her
Do monoliths first and go back to her later
alternatively, post your character. if you're level 50-something and struggling with majasa it's 99% missing some core defense/sustain mechanic and you probably won't have a good time in monolith either
Thanks. I'd really appreciate a look, although I'm managing very well the first timeline: https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/EAL00wdA
I get the reasoning why they don't add filter options for LP but I regularly seem to have a bug where hovering over an item on the ground does not show its tooltip. I have to stop walking and do some stuff to see it. In high monoliths you can sometimes easily die doing so. Lost some good echo rewards when picking stuff up at the end 😄
Is it something on my end or maybe related to a skill/playstyle or does it occur for others as well?
I’ve been hearing the term “auto-cast” a lot. What is that?
A quick guide on how to Auto-cast, a simple and effective skill management tool!
Ty
@raven patio Don't want to discuss in ask the devs: Of course it is a serious question. They could have intended it this way to be able to bypass really bad modifiers resp. at least avoid them for the following echoes. By dying at after completing the echo you first lose the reward but you also lose the modifiers. This of course can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the node. Most of the time you like to have easy modifiers since they push your rarity with the disadvantage of a downside. Some of them are even negligible for some buils while others are really bad...
you have about half the hp you should, only 24% endurance, and no apparent hp sustain mechanic. skill-wise...I'm not really sure where you're trying to go. You've got crit stuff, bleed stuff... kinda pulling hard in two opposite directions.
I guess Sanguine Hoard is leeching you some of your bleed
Ahh my keyboard doesn’t have the number pad on the right. Anyone know of a way to set a macro?
Its definitely a bug if dying affects the connected echoes.
ye, pretty sure mod cheesing is uintended, just unfixed
kinda like snapshotting
because it removes almost all of the difficulty in pushing up corruption
yeah which in itself is a major player downside
Will try and see what I can do about this. Thanks.
True. Just surprised they didnt fix it already. Seems to be easier than changing all skills to avoid snapshotting. Just make the the monolith refresh modifiers at the same time the objective is completed and the stability is updated.
Of course we dont know the code but if it really is unintended they 'should' have fixed it up to now...
If you do not have a numlock on keyboard you could try AHK. Its an auto hotkey app. I have never used it but some people do. Ask in forums/discord about the use of third party software in-case it causes more issues. Good lucj
I have an issue yesterday where my save got corrupted cause I resized my game window..

Penetration works for dots too ?
yes
Even penetration from skill-trees work as long as it does not specify "hit"
any ultra OP lich build (no minion)
currently it is the only one i am missing to test on 0.9.x
i saw almost no builds for that mastery on youtube after 0.8.x
VK and primalist earthquake maul and magebow are the most popular rightnow
083 killed the best lich build
other ones are good but not op
Mao's crit build is still fine
sad, ok thanks man as always for reply, now i try to search Mao's
ngl this doesn't seem good
Scales of Eterra
you get a lot of damage but after 10 seconds you can't avoid, you do little damage
I guess you're meant to cycle between fire and cold?
really dangerous cycle though
wait it mentions a lightning overload
where does that come from
there are 3 versions of scales
ahh okay
Guys, what's the deal with Osprix lightmages hitting so hard?
That's just you not moving out of the big telegraphed hit
That wasn't my question.
can u still use an exalted item in the eternity cache even though it has a sealed affix?
yes, but the sealed affix is ignored
oh ok, perfect, ty!
I tried it and it asked for an item with 4 unsealed affixes
It had 3 +1 sealed mod

You need 4 unsealed affixes; sealed are not recognized at all
is Iron Blade worth getting in the sentinel vengeance tree? or would the armor shred be more effective than added iron blade dmg procs
They hit like a truck cause you are not supposed to get hit... telegraphed attack 😬
The TLDR is, the more warning you get, the bigger hit you should expect.
Not sure what you mean by "dangerous", but it does require you to have at least two general purpose skills of various elements slotted, and thus resort to the slightly less effective generic modifiers.
Lightmages don't hit too hard for the amount of time they actually take to hit you. The little meteor shits on the other hand do hit way too hard for how little wind up their bullshit little meteor has.
embermages hit really hard yeah
i also feel like i’ve been hit by them from off screen before but i might be imagining that
They certainly used to be able to hit your from offscreen (on a 1440 monitor)
Mh. Does the resolution change how much you can see in the game? I could only imagine that a change of the aspect ratio would do this.
yeah just aspect ratio
ive wanted to play a scales build for a while now, but I can never find two spammable spells I like lol. Lightning blast can be made to be lightning or cold, then I guess fireball? but man swapping between those two does not seem worth it for scales. And almost no other class then mage has anything close to spammable I feel can make use of scales
I definitely would try going cold + fire. You can make use of both parts of the throne of ambition jewel doing so. Great against bosses.
But I'm also thinking for a while and havent found a good combination.
Like the problem is not enough low spammable skills, if we go cold + fire, then we have lightning blast, fireball, elemental nova(?) as cheapish spells. I just dont know how you make a scales build feel good with big nukes like glacier and meteor 😦
Yes, it changes how much you can see, not just the graphical quality
Are you sure you don't mix up aspect ratio and resolution? Just checked it and for 2560x1440 and 1920x1080 (both 16:9 aspect ratio) I can see the same amount. Going to a widescreen aspect ratio adds some more content obviously.
something feels off with static
like I have the nodes that give it 1 lightning damage per charge, and at 100 charges that should be a really decent amount of damage per discharge
but then I try it and it does barely anything
level 23 just before getting to End of Time
is static just low damage or should I really be going for 200 max charges
tbh static mostly sucks due to how infrequently you can fire off full-charged blasts, and is only used in builds like proc SB (which is mediocre itself due to numerous scaling issues) for the rightmost nodes that discharge lightning blasts on nearby mobs. However, I've not tested the 1 base damage per charge node extensively.
it's just so weird
I spec into the mega damage and at 100 charges it does like 1 tick of what Disintegrate does
Are you using the gamblers fallacy with disintegrate? That might just be giving it disproportionate scaling at low level.
Compared to your regular skills that is.
not using any uniques
you should
once i get to End of Time I'll do dummy testing
if you are running disintegrate
not to mention the default limit of 5 enemies per discharge
that's like, half a pack
lmao, even after I pick sorcerer, the 100 charge static does the same as a damage tick of disintegrate
very disappointing 😔
I'm not expecting it to do giga damage with 100 max charges, but wow
yeah decided to just stick with disintegrate
first time playing this class
I like how I can speen really fast with it
though ramps absolutely fuck with it
when does dungeon reset?
I tested the 1 damage per charge with 150 charges and it felt absolutely terrible for what you expect
yeah I was thinking like
mega damage but really high mana cost and it takes a bit to charge up
but then all I got was
no damage but really high mana cost and it takes a bit to charge up

Yeah I switched to elemental nova that has no limit on number of creatures it hits and wipes the screen
There's so much in the game to make static a build and it's the weakest spell
It's actually so weak I thought it was a bug
same
I was considering if the added flat wasn't working right or that it had a really low damage effectiveness
adding 100 flat damage while also having 100% more damage shouldn't make the skill do barely 400 on a dummy lmao
For 150 mana it better pop a rare
Yeah I dont know why it does such little damage, it really does make no sense.
Cause according to the planner, static has 65 base damage, and has 325% added effectiveness
there is no way that is right
Yeah it'd be blasting
From what I'm reading it used to have really bad effectiveness so I'm wondering if it never actually got buffed
Also the target limit is 😬 should probably get some help there
I don't think that 65 base is right
I did like a single charge static on the dummy and got I think 34
Ok I posted on the forums in the feedback section
I would actually like it if it was static aura and worked more like holy aura
it has a node that passively shocks nearby enemies already
Is it on purpose that if you put a +1 Lightning Blast helmet on, spec into Convergence and take off the helmet it doesn't remove the point from Convergence?
most people that do run static generally run it as an aura and just use the passive "zap" part of the tree, you can make it trigger lightning blasts for example
Yes, this is so you dont hot swap for bosses
FUCK
ffs hhahaha my plans have been foiled
It probably took a point somewhere else
literally gonna have to rethink everything
yeah, my issue with Static is that it tricks you into thinking it's mega damage with that 1 whole lightning damage per charge
and you think like "BIG DAMAGE"
Yeah, it's always been disappointing.
come on bruh this is the single most obvious thing that was considered by the developers when they first thought of the + skill stat
Yeah of course lmao
im too used to playing much more smaller aprgs that havent properly considered this shit
But is it actually bugged? The damage calculation just doesn't seem to line up with, well, everything
I don't know, I assume it's bugged in some way since it can get an aweful lot of flat damage (which should then be modified by the added damage effectiveness) but it seems to do nothing.....
yeah I'm assuming it's bugged as well
I'm just asking cause you've been around, and given that it had continuously sucked since I started playing last year, I assumed it's been reported by now
I just don't play enough and trying static is maybe in top 100 builds I haven't tried yet, maybe. Closer to top 200 probably.
trying out static rn
100 charge static with +3 lightning spell damage from the tree
426 damage
100 charge static with +6 lighting spell damage from the tree and the big damage node
371 damage
it literally does not work
lmao
no wonder it felt like it did nothing
it does do nothing
I did have in my head that I wanted to do a static build until it literally tickled them so yeah
tbf you dont even need to number check it it just sucks lmao
lol let me wind up the client I'll try something
how odd
it specifies Discharge
and the skill does "discharge"
but Discharge is also capitalized
the only thought would be instant cast has some weird thing to do with scaling but you'd think at LEAST the nodes within the tree specifying the skill would do something
now I'm wondering if the nodes are trying to buff Discharge, but nothing is named Discharge
capitalized
lowercase
well for the bottom image, it's just a text description so it'd do nothing
It will be hilarious if it turns out that nobody had reported this for over a year now
the top one might be messing with the skill though
or the wording that's seen in multiple nodes, like the top image
this is a pretty big bug
Static just doesn't work correctly
huh, the node Empower doesn't display as a DPS increase on Static's tooltip
but Power Surge does
but Power Surge also doesn't work

skill's cursed
very lmao
!bug
Please post bug reports on our forum: https://forum.lastepoch.com/c/bug-reports. Thanks!
yeah well no source of flat lightning damage seems to work from what I had on hand in my stash
made a bug report on it
ingame DPS was about a 12-13% difference between having the node enabled or disabled
some nodes do still work surprisingly, mostly the ones not linked to damage or other stats of the discharge
while tooltip DPS was a difference of 400%
btw my tooltip dps went down a bit after replacing my frostbite gear with vilatrias set, which is completely nonsensical
This is probably because of your frostbite dps. Discharge should still apply some stacks which do a lot of damage if you have still some frostbite scaling gear equipped
if Power Surge actually worked correctly, Static could be really decent
though that's just the nature of a 400% damage boost lmao
yeah right nvm this should be the case, but obviously the real damage didn't go up with the set despite me having around 40 int with it equipped. I've ran a couple of quick tests and it seems that all nodes not directly modifying the discharge damage are working.
low life builds existed before the boots were in the game 😉 so ofc it "works" its just a lot worse
I mean
your playing low life at that point
everything is a lot worse at that point
my level 49 lich is using only exsang and at about 200% ward retention i have the same hp as before, but i feel tankier because ward regens faster than my base hp regen, leech is useless though
i thought endurance worked with ward too but apparently not
Do the drop rate increase blessings work for boss uniques? For example, does "increased drop rate of body armors" increase the chance to drop Wings of Argentus?
Fine youtubers, a whole lot more interesting than build guides on youtube would be a series of videos on buildcrafting principles for Last Epoch. Tutorials of a sort, that could help players start thinking more objectively about their builds and plan ahead, with information on essential game variables, class breakdown, what are the pitfalls to avoid when making your own build. common mistakes and whatnot...
I dunno. Something that would help reduce the dependency on cookie-cutter builds on youtube.
I find myself at level 65 with a rogue build that is most likely not viable. I'd happily pay the cost of respeccing all the skills and passives, as well as look at my equipment. But the game variables are so intricate, it's hard to know where to start. What works and what not.
Well to be honest with you. Not to be analytically minded, but generally, the reason why I mainly do build guides for 90% of my content is due to the popularity of it. People usually don't watch tutorials or guides, at least as of now.
I've been experimenting with guide videos
I also try to be as informative as possible in my videos, as you can learn something even if you dont watch the actual build guide. So a lot of wisdom is imparted their in the first 4 minutes of every video.
but I have plans to work on stuff like that eventually, but the demand for it is very low currently, and stuff like that would be better placed near launch/multiplayer
Is it possible for Wings of Argentus to drop with LP?
Yes, but it is one of the two uniques with the lowest LP chance (LP item level 115); this and the fact that it is the rare empowered drop makes it really really hard and lucky to acquire one
Got 7 of them and no LP sadge
Is the doom effect of siphon of anguish just that strong or does the dps of my skills not display properly?
Depends entirely on your character
The base damage of Doom is significantly higher than all other ailments, though it can only stack ~4 times.
Are the shurikens cast through Shift affected by the Shuriken Skill tree?
ya
Which mastery in your opinions is the best at fire damage and which for cold? So which masteries utilising these elements have the most potential to hit 250+ corruption in empowered monos, and the most fire/ice support from skill trees?
Is it expected or a bug that a room is inaccessible from all entrances in both timelines in the Temporal Sanctum?
Can you access it by using your dungeon ability?
No. Also closed on all sides
if they're interested in the layout then I guess it's not intentional 🤔
https://i.imgur.com/EHb9Z46.png this doesnt increase poison damage dealt by a bow attack right
it does
So just for clarification this specific room was completely locked from all sides in both the divine and ruined version of the dungeon?
Yes, @spare pewter
If this happens again please submit a bug report and take a screenshot of both divine/ruined eras of the mini map. From my understanding it shouldn't be locking you completely out of both zones.

Hey guys, does anybody know about the steam/LE bug, where if i close last epoch steam keeps showing (x stop) for last epoch, and only way to start up the game is if i crash steam and reopen (no last epoch doesnt show up in processes)
Hey guys, completely new to this game. I've started playing Rogue, could anyone recommend a build to follow or a video at all?
is there chance to bleed/poison thats not specified to hits
Only on specific skills with the DoT tag that the devs want to be able to bleed
And that (Hail of Arrows) requires a unique quiver
But generally, ailments require the target to be hit to be applied.
I have this sometimes. Clicking to top of the Steam window changes the button to "Play". It's just a visual not updating
ty llama, helpful as always :)
Ty, ill see if it works for me aswell, apreciate the help @cloud kindle
What should I add with the remaining forging potential?
I'm playing a shadow daggers/umbral blades build.
is it possible to slap on phys throwing attack damage - mana cost
or is that ring only
rings only
could go crit multi or chance
or % throwing dmg
not sure what'd be best. my crit chance with non-shadow daggers skills is pretty low, but this is mainly a shadow daggers spec
Another option would be to shape it and hope for a better implicit roll. risky though, since I likely wouldn't get a 4th mod
ended up choosing throwing attack damage, but only got t1
crit multi is basically always the right choice if you're a crit build
Im confused and dumb here as a newbie. So to increase the difficulty im supposed to find an echo with shade of orobys?? something about corruption?
Im lvl 100 and monos are too easy
Just for clarification. You are not level 100 but you are playing in level 100 monoliths, am I right?
Hard to believe you never encountered a node called 'Echo of a World' in any monolith. Which resets the echo web and adds additional corruption to your monolith which increases rarity as well as enemy health and damage. The amount of added/subtracted corruption is depending on the distance to the center of the monolith web.
oh those
Any suggestions on a build I could do that's based around a 'movement' ability?
Due to physical constraints, clicking with the mouse is difficult for me. I've done spin to win but I'm wondering what other options are out there
You could auto-bomber style builds. They rely on the so called Numpad-Trick which requires a keyboard with a numpad to autocast some skills on cooldown. You essentially only have to walk. There is a very common void knight autobomber if I'm right.
numpad trick? im playing autobomber atm
Just google it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42kVHV7K2Jg
thanks
Using abilities is not a problem for me, my left hand is fine. What I'm looking to avoid is the regular clicking/holding to move my character.
Warpath allowed me to just hold Q and I would move and kill.
(Yes, I know I can bind move to another button, but from what I've found interacting with objects/npcs/etc gets really weird when you do that)
Get a gamepad
am I correct in thinking that for fireball ignite scaling, fire penetration from "lavamancer" in the sorc tree will work and that "immolated core" in the fireball tree will not? ( "fire penetration" vs "fireball hits have additional fire penetration")
yes; if it specifies hit it does not scale applied ailments
how do i fix the bug 'option x' on settings?
Okay I just watch this video https://youtu.be/puVm7R0o26I. My question is where does the Shred/Pen fall into the damage equation? From this it sounded like it came in after all other essentially working like another separate More damage application. (Base damage+(Added damage*added damage multiplier))Increase DamageMore Damage which is then plugged into the equation against Monster defense which is where I would assume shred(shock) and Pen in apply?
Sure, avoiding death is important, but dealing damage is where the fun is at. In this lesson and the following one, we'll discuss everything you need to know in order to maximize your damage and start seeing those big numbers on the screen.
Intro 0:00
Added, Increased, & More 0:42
Crit Strike 9:00
Shred, Pen, Inc Dmg Taken 13:32
Twitch: https...
Shred/Pen are a More modifier
yes its an effective more multiplier, but it would fall in wherever that video is considering monster defenses.
Damage * Monster Armor * monster Resistance
Is the way id look at it.
I think we need a more clear definition of 'more multiplier'. Resistance reduction is one unique source of damage increases. Pen and Shred go into that. But two sources of resistance reduction are additive. Thus, it is essential only an increase modifier. But due to its rarity is works more or less like a more multiplier.
My personal understanding is that 'more multipliers' would always be multiplicative. This is not the case for resistance reduction.
Also agree with that, but its hard when answering quickly or without overcomplicating it
Yes. We have to use 'more modifier' increased rarely and should talk about something like 'separate multiplier' in this context.
Increased rarely*
it would be something like a "damage taken" modifier, which is essentially what it is, but those exist too so 😦
^^ As revelasti says, its not the rarity that causes it to be a more multiplier, its the effect it has in the damage calculation. Pen and shred just happen to be additive together.
I do like your term of Resistance reduction though, as that is the bucket they both fall in
One just happens before the cap, the other after
okay cool this help out a lot, you have basically verified that it is part of the monster defense portion of the equation.
I think 'damage taken' is another separate multiplier. Pen/Shred reduce the resistance but modifiers like provided 'increased damage taken' from skills like volatile reversal should still be multiplicative.
At least in my understanding. Correct me if I'm wrong.
yeah thats why its like
yes he does mention that in the video
what do you even call it
lol
2 many modifiers, its just easier to write down a formula and get everyone to be on the same page. Does G have a damage formula like a basic one
he also states that Shred (shock) and Pen are added together
So technically shred and pen are not additive, just for most intents and purposes they functionally do
Yeah. There sources like 'resistance reduction', 'armour reduction', 'increased damage taken' are all unique damage multipliers but additive in their own grouop
Shred and Pen are not additive. But their effective resistance reduction is additive. Shred will have no effect if the enemy has, from any source, too much resistance. While pen always has full effect
correct, which is why if you have say Lightning shred 100% with 20 stacks of shock (100%) and lightning pen 100% they apply seperately but are added together making it 300% reduction cause I do believe shred has a cap this essentially lets you break that cap.
its mostly just that because monsters dont have resistance by default in 90% of cases, you dont get to see pen work in the way that it works in say PoE
I thought if they had no resistances it still applies reducing it into negative, which then in turn increases your damage?
Well you can get echo mods that give them resistances and some monsters DO have resistances
lightning spiders resist lightning for instance
yeah so if you had 75 lightning pen, and a monster had 150 lightning res, you would treat them as if they had 0.
but because monsters almost never have capped res or even over capped res
pen just works at the end like extra res shred.
Yes. It works like this. But when you start at 0% resistance going from -100% resistance to -200 effectively only is a 50% more multiplier. It has a Diminishing Returns effect. -100% is twice the damage while -200 is thrice the damage.
I think thats why most people just add them together, cause thats just how it works in 90% of cases
I said that
yeah!
Also, diminishing returns gets people confused too
cause people say increased has diminishing returns, which is only true relatively. First 100% is double damage, then its x3 after another 100%, which is linear scaling not diminishing, its just relative gains which have diminished
Seen people fight about that one a few times lol
So you are saying if I average 8 stacks of shock giving me 40% reduction I am better off not going over 60% lightning pen?
And also, pen works every hit while shred requires successive hits, so for clearing pen is usually better while shred helps a lot on bosses
Isn't this always the case for DR? It is always only meant with respect to the global effect it has. Cannot think about any case where it is different.
for people with math training no, it means something else, Atleast thats what ive seen it described as. I personally am in the "its diminishing returns" camp, but thats just cause im stupid
Getting shock and shred will always be worth it with respect to damage. Investing in additional penetration on gear is different and depends on how much resistance reduction you already have.
At least for builds with high hit rates
I can get my penetration from passive or skill trees, this is why I am trying to understand this interaction casue I can save my gear slots form other stuff like crit chance and crit multi
Mh. I have a math background. Although applied math and not economics. Wikipedia says 'diminishing returns is the decrease in marginal (incremental) output of a production process as the amount of a single factor of production is incrementally increased, holding all other factors of production equal' which is essential the same as in our use-case. We increase a source linearly, e.g. 'increased damage' or 'increased armour' but will see a non-linear effect on the global stat (damage output resp. damage reduction).
But I get why this can confuse people without experience easily.
yeah that makes sense to me, I just know I saw some people literally fight about it quite a few times in the arpg community haha.
Mh, I think I have to correct myself. For damage reduction through armour it seems to be really a DR effect. Multiplying your armour by 1.5 does not give you 1.5 the damage reduction.
But for 'increase damage' it is different. Multiplying your 'inc damage' by 1.5 always gives you 1.5 the damage you would do without.
I can understand people fighting about it. But in arpgs this effect is well known as a diminishing returns effect as far as I know 😄
yeah armor is true diminishing as is dodge
it also means armor shred is also DR
since its just inverse armor formula
true
Try to compare the relative increases of both stats you can realistically obtain. The higher one wins. But keep in mind: If enemies have resistance from any sources penetration/shred has increased effect. If your gain is similar I would go for resistance reduction. But also keep in mind, like revelasti said, that shred has a ramp up time while penetration and crit multi don't have it. But Crit Multi is unreliable on its own with less than 100% crit chance 😄
One additional note: When assuming 0% resistance, resistance reductions base is a 1x multiplier while crit multipliers base is a 2x multiplier.
well my crit chance is stupid high, but my crit multi is relatively low. My passives give my 15% elemental pen and I can possibly spare 4 points in my skill tree for another 60%. Shock (Shred) is a little tougher to get id say I maybe stack between 4-6 so only 20-30% reduction.
Keep in mind that shock and penetration have a reduced effect on bosses where it matters the most. Only 40% effect.
I am currently evaulating my build because I hit a wall and realized I am split 50/50 with two types of damage and I need to fix my build
how do i fix this?
Delete the le_graphicsmanager.ini file and rerun the game
Hey, so I want to make some Shattered Lance set build, but not sure which class/skill. Sentinel with extra regen from Sigil looks nice, but idk if his attacks would be good enough for it, since they don't really synergize with cold. Any suggestions?
Is there a way to stop Julra from positioning on the edges of the arena? It makes dodging the wave significantly more difficult while lasers are active and I'd like to avoid it.
Depends on your build, maybe Warcry could move her for example
I'm Flame Reave
hey guys i have a weird issue with my game again. Ive played LE on 2 different steam accounts but same LE account my first account i played my character up to lvl 18 and the 2nd account same character to lvl 40. i thought my save could sync between the 2 and tried resigning in to see if that fixed it but it didn't. Any way to fix this or is it a permanent thing? Is there a sync option ive missed?
Try either shatter strike sb or cold were bear druid.
Run out of range to the opposite side of the safe zone, that will cause her to reposition
I'll try it
probably gonna make an entirely different build for Julra tho, trying to do it in melee is a pain
Totems are not melee attacks. Meaning it should not be able to proc it.
Even if they the totems would do melee attacks the attacks wouldn't be yours. The node says 'your melee attacks'
Does symbol of loss in the harvest tree affect DoT ailments ? the description says harvest hits but the node itself just says marked enemy dmg
As a auto bomber void knight, should I just prioritize Vitality and resistances with idols?
Do shard, glyph and keys drop increase with corruption ?
And better ones too ? like glyphs of despair or ascension things are more likely in higher corruption ?
Upheaval totem is a meele attack but not "your" @rare fjord
Mike made a comment lately in #👨┃ask-the-devs-not-support-no-bugs . let me search for it
Precise the totem does a meele attack
Right.
You still cast it
Nevermind my previous comment. It was about something different.
I thought the totem is using my skill at first 😂
so my 3lp strongmind doesnt show crit strike multiplier on epochtools, can anyone tell me why?
its been imported straight from my save file.
Report LEtools bug in Dammit's discord. (If you haven't already).
To be clear, the chest drops after completing an echo is dependent on the number of monsters killed, but the echo rewards are not. Correct?
correct
Wait wait wait. So I should clear maps to get more loot when doing monos?
if you're doing an echo that you really want the most loot of, sure
but if you're doing them for general loot then you want to go pretty much straight to the objective while clearing everything in the way
some of the echo maps are so large, it's not worth full clearing them
instead of just going to another echo
Hmmm. How do I know if I want the loot? So if it’s a ring one I would get more rings ect
And thanks for the replay homie
yeah exactly
what is says on the node is pretty much the only thing you'll get from the center reward thingy
and the rewards chest is always non-specific
That's not my understanding.
There are two rewards when completing an echo. The chest to the right and the floating cache in the center.
- The chest is not related to the echo reward. It drops random loot, and loot quantity/quality is related to the number of monsters killed.
- The cache in the center is the echo item reward as stated in the echo information panel. This one is not related to the number of monsters killed. It will drop the same amount of loot regardless.
No, if it was a ring one you'd get the same number of rings, but your chest at the end on the right side of the 'Echo of a World' will contain more random loot. So if you are after the node rewards then you should just beeline to the objective and move onto the next node. If you're after just anything from that area level then you might want to consider clearing the whole place.
it doesn't really make sense to clear the whole place unless we believe the reward chest on the right scales non linearly with monsters killed
like if the scaling is such that going from 90 to 100 monsters killed is more impactful than going from 0 to 10 monsters killed then full clearing one echo will give more total rewards then clearing 10% of ten echoes
but it seems a lot more likely that the reward increase is linear so 10% of ten echoes will be the same as 100% of one echo but the ten echoes will also give you the node specific rewards ten times
Right. I've been looking at that myself. Hence my initial question, since I couldn't quite put my finger on how the chest rewards work.
It's my understanding that not only the reward increases linearly, but there is a min-max range of drops. Meaning you can clear the whole map and get few loot, or beeline to the echo objective and still get a large number of items dropping from the chest. Just doesn't seem worth the effort to clear maps.
Thanks for the explanations fellas. Think I will just keep quick clearing and hope for the best.
what would I slap onto a 1LP Exanguinous? just life I guess?
increased health yeah
Anyone have tips for dealing with the void pools spawned by the chronomancer boss in the Temporal Sanctum? I'm playing a melee build and have max resistances and even some DR from like Aspect of the Boar, but I just can't survive long enough to stay close, which is how I deal damage/get leech. I'm level 84 and trying to do the tier 2 (level 80) version, and just getting wrecked. Since it's damage over time, Armor doesn't do anything against it, is there any other things I can be looking for?
they get cast where you're standing so move to the edge when she starts casting
She gives you the pool when you shift era, watch it when she shifts to you
hey, what should I focus to increase my DPS ? https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/LB7GwEgB
What is your buffed tooltip for Devouring Orb and Smite with 4x sigils up and Orb/Anomaly casting?
tooltip damage is pretty misleading in my experience
like at least go to the training dummy instead
Well I'm running effectively the same build with similar skills and I need a frame of reference for the difference in damage for the suggestions I would make
right i'm saying the tooltip will not give you a meaningful frame of reference
As it stands now I would say getting more cooldown and base crit would be the most beneficial, but I am not sure if that is strictly true as I am still new.
In what way, I am comparing like-for-like on the same build
in the way that the tooltip fails to account for a lot of things so unless every difference between your build and their build is something the tooltip accounts for the numbers won't be representative of the actual difference between the builds
What isn't accounted for? is there a full list so I can start compiling a calculator for stat weights?
i really couldn't tell you off the top of my head
The tooltip can't account for conditional effects, such as damage v stunned/chilled/shocked/etc targets, how many stacks of damaging ailments you're able to keep up, etc.
It's supposed to give you a reasonable view on whether any given piece of gear is likely to be an upgrade or not. The devs are working on an updated character screen & should, hopefully have it in the next patch (mid-March ish).
I'm trying to do a ballista build - is it normal for it to be a meh leveling skill?
I think general consensus is that its a pretty meh skill in general.
There are two well known build makers who have it in their builds... but at quick glance, I don't think its their "main" skill
Hmm.. I thought I'd try it since I have the uniques for it and it sounds cool.
There is one with it as the main skill
But I'm also in act 3
Where everything feels weak
does this cost extra mana still if Im getting the 30% more
Yes, it should
Basic question - does it matter what base I use for rune of ascendance outside of type (eg. a wand)
as in - any level, and mods, any base, rune of ascendance rolls from the same pool with the same odds?
where do you guys look up unique items to see which boss drops what?
LE Tools has good database: https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/timelines Click on the timeline
no. a wand is a wand for that rune
a rune of ascendance on a wand is basicly an "extra unique wand" dropping in a lvl 100 area .. it can roll everything this drop could roll with the same probabilities but a lower chance for legendary potential
so its a "worse drop" 😦
Don't forget they have the Minion tag, so you must invest on Minon stuff 😉
I have a question! If I’m playing an auto bomber vk and I have an item that says increased crit chance..will that work for my orbs or do I need increased spell crit?
hey this helps a ton! <3
yes
its just a more generic affixe and rolls lower numerical values than a more specific affixe like spell crit
Cool thanks! Slowly but surely my build is getting good
Just asking: Is there a good marksman lightning-multishot or shaman lightning build (that doesnt circle around static totems, it should circle around my abilities that i can cast freely and dont have to worry a lot about positioning (like totems)? would be thankful for one or 2 build-names i can google, i havent found a good one yet
For lightning shaman that's gonna be a no, unfortunately it has really bad lightning support - only limited to procs off tornado, malestrom, passives and converted EQ, of which only converted EQ doesn't suck
If you want a mobile lightning "caster" have a look into some sentinel builds based on proccing converted smite, I think either javelin- or hammer-based builds might be good.
Much better than something you can brew up on shaman at least
I have a smite hammerdin but i need some more lightning ^^ but thanks man :)
does the target dummy have no resistance or smth ?
im lvl 33 and alrdy deal 5,1k dmg
no defenses at all from what it seems
regular enemies don’t have resistances too for the most part
yeah no defenses
It also doesn't get the damage reduction that monsters will, which is the real difference here
the thing target dummy is missing is the damage reduction
does this work with 1 dagger + 1 sword ?
it should
for early on, do you loot everything for gold, or just ignore till a certain lvl
Don't loot items for gold. Not worth the time
imo only pick up things you plan to use
ah ok
maybe also random uniques if you don’t know which ones are good yet and don’t mind storing them
also pick up all crafting items since they don’t take up storage space
but selling items for gold is really inefficient and gold is rarely the thing keeping you from improving your character
May I get Oriani with an ascendance rune?
should be able to... it's a random drop, not a boss-specific item
Lightning blast sorcerer is pretty popular
i try that one right now 🙂
what is your Tier list for classes this patch guys? i just made Action Rpg's javelin smite paladin and the damage alongside the forge guard manifest armor/shield throw are the most broken things i have played so far, i would say sentinel>primalist>acolyte>mage>rougev🤔
idk rogue can do some pretty busted stuff
i don't know that i've played enough builds to feel comfortable ranking the classes but i have trouble believing rogue is last
from the things i have played and saw from video builds the speed against julra with rouge i feel it...slow
rogue can kill t4 julra in <10 seconds if you want it to
idk, im more a "nuke everything" guy
like as far as i can tell poison flurry is probably the single fastest way to kill julra (or any boss)
i need to see that, the forge guard i mentioned melted her in in the same amount of time
and orobyss was a trashmob
manifest armor is definitely strong too yeah
i will check rouge a little more then, sound cool
It is always a question which norm you apply to rank the classes. Just T4 julra speed? I mean mages have some builds which do her in around or below 40s (and possibly freezing her) while still having great clear speed in 500+ corruption.
there are definitely a lot of different ways you could rank classes
yeahi would take julra as the norm, orobyss is becoming too easy imo
high corruption farming, t4 julra, arena are all different and then you have to decide if you care about just the best build or if the class having depth matters too
probably more stuff i’m not thinking about
Ever played 700+ corruption?
not yet, this isn't the only game i play, im on +/-450 with one character and im doing some secondaries
im still searching for a build to feel comfortable with
Was just asking because you said Julra is the hardest content because it is more easy than oro. At high corruption the modifiers go crazy. At 750 you get +300% ele/phys damage or 100% inc damage/life while having 300% more helath and damage. Some minions can do crazy damage. I do not want to think about what happens at 1k+
I always want well rounded builds. Like good clear; decent movement speed and survivability paired with good bossing. Not the best at any of this but decent at everything. Always good if you can take a hit xD
is there a thing called EXP dropoff in this game ?
like if im lvl 40 and i kill lvl 44, it will give me less experience than a lvl 43 would
No, you should always do areas as high as you can do decently fast
ah ok
there definitely seems to be a penalty for being underleveled but i don’t think it exists and/or is substantial until you’re a decent amount below the area level and as far as i can tell it mostly just exists to offset the increased experience higher level monsters give
but generally i should just rush story ?
yes
yes
aight
rush story but still get your passive points and idol slots
in general the advice is to rush through both story and regular monoliths and then spend your time farming empowered monoliths/dungeon
Idk man I saw a steam review, of a guy complaining that the op strat was to teleport in a zone, kill all the mobs, pick up the drops, sell them to the shop then do it again. He then quit after 4 hours.
nice
Yeah getting to empowereds is the first step of any char and when the real game begins
me when the PoE labyrinth is only for the top 1% of gamers
me when boneshatter nerf
whoever at GGG thought an infinitely scaling modifier would be good
is dumb dumb
When they are struggling and put in chat they are celebrating for finishing the chapters
labyrinth is miserable to be fair
no more Nebuloch + 11 endurance charge
like the ten minutes each league i spend doing lab are the worst ten minutes of the league
lab is tedious
getting lab trials is the worst part of league start
cant wait for finishing lab and getting oneshot at the last izaro with his slingshot of green
the offering is just a key now you don’t need to find everything
yeah it's nice
I wish they also removed act trials 😔
cant wait to be oneshotted by abyssus cause my armor is only 10k
Like old Aspect of the Shark (pre 0.8.3)? xD
ngl I don't know what that does 😔
Was similar on beastmaster. Could stack aspect of the shark which grants increased attack speed and melee damage. More attack speed -> more stacks -> loop
when even a talking sword says izaro is a imbecile you know is real stuff....
that sword is so wack
ahh
that dumb dumb too
yeah
not only is it really dumb to get (but I do respect it for being creative and one of PoE's only secrets)
yas, the truest waifu of the game
i’ve never had an oni because i don’t hate myself enough to spend ten hours fighting hillock
but the creator is uhhh
yeah
more easy to buy :^)
yeah but it’s useless by the time i can afford one
i made 40 ex a day and i still cant beat sirus
lmao
gaming 😔
RAIN OF STARS panik
I've farmed Oni 3 or 4 times
sirus is a pretty mechanical fight
its good for getting through an audiobook
although it has miserable visual clarity
I've only done Oni once and it's 100% not worth it at all
the cheapest stuff i killed sirus with was 60c
just infinite black and red on top of other black and red
was an A5 tho
GGG subscribes to this design philosophy
yes
the fight with sirus is more fight against the arena than sirus himself
like i don’t die to sirus 99% of the time at this point but that first try was really unpleasant
I remember when people said Atziri was too hard to be reasonable
what i hate most of him is his last phase "DIE" side to side laser, the hitbox comes out before the animation of the attack himself
I died to Sirus on a cwdt build because there was mega heavy degen ground and I couldn't see it through all the skill effects
like...dude c'mon
o yea btw we have a death counter in LE or not
I was gonna ask
in PoE I use /clear a LOT to clean my screen up
are there similar commands in LE?
i know it shows if you have no deaths but not sure about anything beyond that
I like it when it says "DEATHLESS" on your char
Back to topic: What to put on a 3LP Volcanus? 😄
my default assumption would be melee fire, flat crit, armor shred/frailty but i’m definitely not an expert on fire melee builds
Mh, k. Never played a build with it but 3 LP cries for it. Was thinking maybe to not only scale melee but the bolt as well. Would be an argument against flat crit maybe...
that's true
i guess the spell volcanus triggers is fire and scales off attunement and smite is the same way so maybe there's something there
i have no idea how you would make that happen though
Maybe. It also has 300% added damage effectiveness. Some sort of warpath smite. Have to check old build guides. I think there was one in the past.
if nothing else warpath does have the adaptive spell damage while spinning and smite per second nodes
Yeah. Sadly swords do not have any sort of spelldamage affixes
yeah you'd have to take like % fire damage and melee attack speed for more hits (i think that works with warpath)
Maybe speed/spell crit/crit and shred?
can 2h swords have spell crit?
no...
i think it's just flat melee crit and % crit
if you're a paladin you can do the flame burst stuff in holy aura maybe?
i have no clue if this is actually good though
Could also go for attack speed and ignite and utilize the proc to get more stacks.
But hit based is probably better
im not going to lie the whole bleed on hit bleed chance poison yadayada stuff with hail of arrows is hella confusing, because i seriously cannot tell what works and what doesnt
https://i.imgur.com/9pGsvAl.png this doesnt work
acid flasks poison pool global poison chance does work
lacerating arrows from black arrow doesnt (?) work nvm thats for puncture only im stupid
toxic quiver from black arrow doesnt work, but getting the crimson quiver note works
Is the Aspect of the Shark effect from the Ocean Maw passive added, increased, or more? The description says it is more effective, then the per point effect is written like it's added. And then again given how inconsistent descriptions and effects can become in games, it might just as well be increased, too.
I suppose it being added or more would have the same outcome, as there are no other sources of added Aspect of the Shark effect in the game, but it being increased would make heaps of difference when it comes to gearing. Anyone know which one it is? I suppose it could be tested with some effort.
Saw an unique, i believe, with 15%less dmg recieved while wearing a 2hander. Cant find it now. Can anyone help with that?
Yes. Thx a lot!
Its increased I believe and its the same as the idols/body/helm mods. It would be insane if it was more since that would negate feeding frenzy and make shark stacking quite busted.
This is "on hit" and Hail of Arrows does not hit: it is damage over time
yet toxic quiver doesnt specify "on hit" and still doesnt work
which is why im confused
sorry this is late, but the thing you're missing is that toxic quiver itself doesn't need to specify that it's on hit, because that's how poison (& other ailments too) work in general
see the tooltip here:
wait so why again does it not work?
the crimson something thing it can give you works though so im confused :(
it doesn't work because hail of arrows doesn't hit, and you need to hit to poison
idk what crimson thing you're talking about
its in the same tree from black arrow
god its you again
i have bad ptsd
ok I just got on a character to try it, I think it's because hail of arrows has both an initial hit and a dot
so that one initial hit can bleed, but the dot part doesn't
I only have the 50% bleed chance from dark quiver and I'm never getting more than 1 stack per hail of arrows cast
at 3/3 the node grants you 30% more damage per stack of adrenalin rush ... so at 3 stacks you would get 90% more.
thank you
Question about the talent Marrow Thief in the Bone Curse spell. Does it proc off minion kills? Should I see the buff on my screen, I haven't yet.
A) affix item1: increase damage while channeling by 60%
compared to
B) affix item2: increase physical damage by 60%
@robust talon
the item one will increase ALL damage you do while channeling no matter if its ice, void or phys
the item 2 will only increase physical damage - nothing else
so for a 100% pure physical damage build its the same
if you add any other flat damage on your skill the item 1 would be better
furthermore the "while channeling" thing should also work for lets say a smite you procc while warpathing (at least if the wording is accurate)
Would farming Orobyss in multiple timelines be faster for making corruption than just grinding one ?
Have never really pushed corruption because I felt it took too long.
Could someone confirm if this strategy I had in mind would work to make it faster ?
- Kill Orobyss in some timeline say Reign of Dragons -> 16 corruption and timeline reset
- Do another timeline say Winter and kill Orobyss around same range -> 16 corrupt + 8 from bonus = 24
- Do another timeline say Abomination one and kill Orobyss around same range -> 16 + 12 corrupt from bonus
sorry for long question
Not sure about the math. But the bonus corruption most of the time helps only to catch up, not to get more than in the other timeline. I would push one timeline and catch up on the others later. But I'm not totally sure.
Ah ok thanks I thought you could kinda always be catching up to the highest corruption and keep rotating to make it faster
thank u so much as always , yeah u are correct, if you have multiples type of damages in your build is better the item A, because it will increase them all,
true
the "physical" tag of the skill is almost irrelevant for this question in most cases
if i add 200 flat cold on my 1 base physical damage of my meele attack it still has a physical tag but item 2 would be an obviously worse option 😄
I cannot understand what it does. It seems it only adds crit chance to my attacks.
The perceived benefit of refreshing my bow mastery stacks doesn't seem useful, since these only go away when I stop using the bow
I'm thinking respecing this passive in favor of % damage ones. I just can't quite understand from the tooltip what is it I am supposed to gain from it.
3% inc crit chance per stack and point invested?
so at 5/5 you gain 15% inc crit per stack of bow mastery (additional to the normal effect)
so at maximum you get 75% inc crit for your 5 passives
so the passive basicly upgrades your bow mastery with a second effect
Ok. Thanks. So if I understand, this is mostly a +crit% node.
I'm moving towards a bleed build. So I'll respec this. Thanks again.
it is purley a crit node 😉
doesnt do anything else
for a pure aliment build its totaly worthless yep
Does anyone from community posted any image illustrating the in-game distances in meters?
Other than "nearby" is roughly the size of the circle around the training dummy, no.
There's a few skills mentioning meters in their tooltips. Would like to have a visual aid of what that actually means in-game. But I guess I can test that myself.
which ailments are effective for defense when encountering bosses?
among blind, chill, slow
I'd say frailty and chill are the most important. Followed by slow and blind.
thx
Blind is only useful if you don't have capped crit avoidance or a reasonable amount of less crit damage taken
other than that it's kinda pointless (unless you have a skill that does more damage to blinded mobs)
Frailty & chill are must haves though
slow is nice but, IMO, not essential
Doesn't it make projectile attacks less precise? If so I would consider it quite useful for range builds. But the other three are better.
Yeah, but how many bosses have projectiles?
True forgot he asked specifically for bosses. There it is less useful.
Personally I'd rather have slow than blind
Yeah. Me too.
whats the most smoothest mapper ?
In the same vein as the person asking above, what is the fastest build you are aware of? Something that just zooms through echoes at mach 5.
Autobomber: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2OZIkw5Flo
ngl that does not look that fast
Ngl this is LE and not PoE. Gameplay in general is a little slower 😄
Autobomber is definitely one of the faster builds.
seems hard to get much faster than a build that spends 99% of its time in echoes either walking or using a movement skill
yea im thinking of flicker strike but in LE
ig theres none
If only that was a thing
le is just a slower game
Guess I'll have to figure something out myself
If no one else wants to go fast, I'll make it so
i mean it’s not that no one else wants to go fast
I wouldn't say no one wants it just is not possible to go super fast. Most movement skills have a cooldown. But you can of course give it a try to discover something faster 😉 Rogue can also be relatively fast if I remember correctly
as if that will stop me
it definitely will
I have a need for speed
umbral is slow asf or thats just my standards too high
and the others lock u in place animation
don’t most attacks lock you in place at least for a short while
like your character has to complete the attack animation
umbral and the initial skill for rogue has the feeling that its the fastest
others not so much
flurry
Is every/any Staff considered a Melee Weapon?
ok nvm after feeling it again they all have the same animation speed
its just that melees with such small radius feels really underwhelming with ranged enemies nuking you
also at what level is arena usually you should go
Go as high as you want. Arena currently is more about epeen and not about rewards. Maybe decent exp but monoliths get close or even better with corruption.
epeen = ?
Yes, it the thing arena is decent for it. But progressing/playing monoliths just gives better rewards and blessings etc. while still giving decent exp.
I have found a way to make Autobomber more my speed. Add Paranoia and Lunge across the map
Yes. Works great. Doing it myself currently but still need an LP Paranoia.
Cast Speed also makes it go faster because less downtime for spells
Time to farm helmets
when will gold be scarce ?
hopefully never
When you need more stash tabs and each costs 1kk xD
besides trying to gamble
we don't really know if gold will be rebalanced for trade
I hope it does because then gold will be useful xD
instead of having millions just sitting there
I mean, stash tabs are pretty useful
if you're using 20 stash tabs then that's on you
wait you guys keep armor ?
Mostly exalteds
Here I am with 100 tabs and 20 of them are unsorted dump tabs xD
Always need new ones because I dont want to clean up^^
I usually end up cleaning them before it gets that far
sold like 50 uniques yesterday lol
50 uniques for like 200 gold I'm guessing 😏
what if we could shatter uniques 😳
is this hard to do and is it rewarding for a lvl 57 player
dungeon has 4 tiers, first tier is level 55 and is very easy
Pro tip: dropping uniques is faster than selling xD You make more gold in the saved time^^
really the first 3 tiers of the dungeon are pretty easy
dropping keys after a point is faster too
they can be
Item with at least one T6 or T7 affix. Drop only
basically how it works is item affixes can be t1 through t7 and you can only craft up to t5
exalted items have at least one t6 or t7
And what are you using that super high amounts of gold to buy?
more stash tab
its an endless cycle
More stash tabs to hoard more useless LP uniques and exalteds
Yeah, though there's limits to how many of them you need
200 is the limit, isn't it?
Besides it was just the argument why you should not sell uniques from your stash but just drop them. More rewards, even gold in the same time xD
for the dungeon do i just mapping or skip to the boss
sometimes it's worthwhile to clear a decent chunk of the second floor
since it can roll mods that increase the number of exalted drops
welp i died at the boss cause she nuked the whole map and theres no place i can avoid t
Hey, I finished the story and now I'm stuck at the boss of the second island in the Monolith (The Black Sun).
Problem is, I'm getting oneshot by all his moves even at 75% Void res.
you have to use the time shift to dodge the boss's aoe
oh
what are your other defenses?
i was so confused
resistance is not enough for endgame
you should be stacking health/ward, capping endurance (only if you're a health build), capping crit avoid, and potentially having some combination of armor/block/dodge
ok thx
you should probably have flame ward if you're a sorcerer?
i haven't played as much with mage as other classes but i feel like almost every mage build i've seen has taken flame ward
yeah flame ward is dummy powerful
it's just massive amounts of damage reduction
and/or damage boost as well
I just used the ancient technique of just not getting hit to beat him, but yeah, I'll need some defs.
Everything's fixed (at the moment)
Hi there ! Just looted this bad boy and I'd like to have your opinion guys on what's the best way to use it ! I was thinking about flame reave... what do you think ?
Does Corruption also affect Quest Echoes?
yes
Ew.
I would go Warpath, but I hard it is not very good anymore. Maybe @marsh maple can tell you more
i was talking with someone yesterday who had a 3lp volcanus about trying warpath to trigger all the different fire spells since they all scale off the same things (fire damage, spell damage, attunement, crit) but obviously without trying it it's hard to say if it's actually good
volcanus is common though so maybe if i ever get one with lp i'll try it out
anyone know what use this bow even has, to my knowledge poison is a dot and dots dont go against armor so why is there shred armor on it
Probably to facilitate a dot hit combo
so poison isnt purely a dot?
sorry kinda new or rather didnt play for a long time lol
I posted this in the primalist channel but thought maybe a wider range could help here: #🐺┃primalist message
I have no idea why the mace I have equipped is doing a ton more Maul damage than the sword. I linked Fury Leap to Maul but it doesn't have any bonus damage that would be applied to lightning that wouldn't also be applied to physical so I'm pretty stumped
Poison is a dot but maybe the class has some interaction supported by the unique, e.g., a build doing poison hit damage while still applying poison. You can scale both. And the poison dots reduce enemies poison resistance while the armour shred reduces the armour. Both would increase poison hit skills.
Since my physical damage scales better than lightning and I get +5 strength, I thought for sure that it would do significantly more damage but it does not!
im just gonna try using the bow for a bit, ty
Never trust tooltip dps. Just use it as a some kind of guideline. The shock from the mace will reduce the enemies lightning resistance. It may be included in the tooltip dps. On the other ahdn I assume that the culling effect (instant kill) on the sword is not accounted for
In addition the mace has 20% more flat damage...
I was testing on the dummy because i thought the numbers might be off, but my Mauls with the sword were hitting around 28-33k and the mace was hitting like 45-51k
and that was like 1 hit, wait for stacking ailments to drop off, and also with stacking as many ailments as I can then doing the big hit
Of course the hits of the mace will be higher. It is slower Wrong. This woulkd be PoE not LE xD
The sword will attack more often (higher speed) which grants an advantage you can not see on single hits. The instant kill is also at least 23% more damage and not visible. The higher hits of the mace are probably due to the higher base and the shock-resistance shred
Can you compare hits from the first hit without debuffs?
I'd still take the sword for its utility, attack speed etc. You will move faster and kill enemies below 23%
oh hmmm fun fact: the "overkill leech" effect on that sword seems to be unaffected by the "you cannot leech health" affix

Known bug
Luckily we have a Llama who lives in the form/discord and checks everything for us 😉
It's that or spend time with my kids.
He also always makes great decisions! You can ask his kids xD
Hello! Quick question, is there an option in game to see specific crit chance for a skill? (Like my skelly mages has increased crit change, but I want to see how much is the total with my character)
Not yet. They will rework the character sheet in the near future. But it is relatively easy to calculate it yourself. If you don't know how and are interested I can explain it.
Ohh sure!
Most skills and minions have a base crit chance of 5%. You can double check it, e.g., on tunklab (https://lastepoch.tunklab.com/minion/OldSummonSKeletonMage).
E.g. for minions: You have to first sum up all sources of '+# added crit chance' which affect minions, i.e., crit chance from the skill's tree as well as all sources of '+# added minion (spell) crit chance' on gear/tree. This base crit value now is multiplied by the sum of all '#% increased minion (spell) critical strike chance' resp. '#% increased critical strike chance' from the minion's tree.
'sum of crit chance' x (1. + 'sum of increased critical strike chance')
If one of the attributes just specify minions it will only affect spell or melees minions; otherwise both
Sounds complicated but is fairly simple 😉
Who doesn't like numbers?
Sweet, I am going to add that to my notes! Thanks~!
Example: with '+3 added spell minion crit chance' and '115% incresed minion critical chance' you will end up with
(5 + 3) x (1. + 1.15) = 17.2 critical strike chance
Only arty people don't like numbers.
So every "base" crit buffs is on the first part and every "increased" is on the second part
Where am I if I am both?
yeah
You need to be purged.
and there's some affixes that boost flat crit by a lot
Do you draw numbers?
Flat goes for the "base" part, "increased" part or the result?
base part
I interpretive dance numbers
Sum up base and sum up increased and multiply them as shown above.
Sounds great as well 😄
Thanks for the helps!
helping is cool
For Puncture's Mutilate node, do you miss out on the bleed damage of the third hit, or does it apply it before consuming all stacks?

I'm leaning towards the former based in its wording, but confirmation would be nice.
… math nerd
if anyone could say how to empower timeline
i closed a few first timelines but couldn't empower them
Do all three level 90 non-empowered and go to the center of them
Ahh so I have to close 90 first
always prefer the right path on the lower timelines (higher area level, good blessings)
yes
thanks a lot
If I take the warcry totem node and warcry maelstrom node. It would cast it on the totem?
And would the totem damage buff of maelstrom apply?
can someone point me ind irection of details re: terms like 'horde of' or 'more' in sanctum rewards?
thank you.
Can every unique drop with 4LP?
Sure. You could also get a drop with 4 t7 exalted mods too. Some day. A thousand years from now.
some uniques have a much higher LP level, so it makes them much less likely to get more LP
like I think some have a requirement of level 100, so anything above 1LP is super rare
There are only two or three uniques which cannot have LP
is there a database for that or do you know which?
The two quest uniques cannot get LP. Gamblers necklace and the ele leech gloves
Orchirian's Petals is the third
thank you
does attack speed help with casting spells?
so this wont help me cast smite faster correct
And before you ask, throwing damage does not affect fireballs
it shouldn’t
Anyone play this game on GeForce Now? If so do you know how to import a planner using it? Can't seem to find the files for it even on my PC since it's cloud save on steam
Thanks ! Warpath is an option for sure. I really want to find the best use for it but I haven't figured it out yet.... and still don't have any good exalted for it :p
Let me know if you can try it ^^
does inc, more dmg of skill nodes afflict to bleed/poison dmg that skill apply?
Tell us when you find! 🙂
Should I use sanctum keys at early level (7x 8x) or continue leveling up to 9x before using them?
its more about what you can handle rather then level, if you can do the content in them you want to farm then go ahead, your level is pretty unimportant aslong as you have maxed skills at 20
Do minions summoned by your minions (e.g. the Vines summoned by the summoned spriggan's Briar Summoner) benefit from your minion stats (e.g. increased minion damage)?
what am i missing? why this is not working at all?
Melee critical strike multiplier of the boots
are not sinergizing with the gloves increase effectivness of bleed\poison
why?
I think only general crit multiplier works. They boots provide melee critical strike multiplier
correct
i was hoping for a different answer, like they are bugged.
rip "super secret sinergy"
anyway thanks guys
The super secret syergie of the boots is called manifest armor 😄
yea tbh salt the wound just quickly became the most useless thing ive seen for me
when melee crit multi exist in a lot of things and u dont even allow it to matter, idk why even bother making the item
Is this only for HoA? or increase also poison/bleed that afflicted by other skill?
Any bow attack, if it inflicts an ailment it will inherit the buff as long as it’s a damage over time tag which should include damage dealing ailments
Hey everyone, I am wondering how you get Apathy’s Maw to drop? Is it an empowered mono only drop, a certain corruption, a certain level? Thanks!
it drops from shade of orobyss
i think you need like 50 corruption or something too but not 100% sure off the top of my head
That's correct, though it has a higher chance to drop the higher the corruption, but the minimum required is 50.
So it's possible to drop in normal monos but unlikely.
Hello ! Does endurance applies when you're in Reaper Form ?
Yes
ok thanks Llama ! 👍
how do you unlock The Stolen Lance?
I have outcasts, black sun, ending the storm and reign of dragons, but dragons is level 85 and the DB says stolen lance is 62
they are all direct connections
the quests you do in the monolith sometimes has two path options depending on how you finish the quest
ok so I'm guessing that Outcasts have 2 branches on it, then?
Yes, it literally asks you on the last quest which timeline to open next
Yo should I do all empowered timelines? Are there better blessings?
There are 5 timelines which have blessings that improve your character stats. Others are drop-related. The 'useful' ones are: BlackSun, Ending the Storm, Reign of Dragons, The Age of Winter, Spirits of Fire.
Empowered provide the same blessings but with better stats.
Yes
Quite the diff bump
hooray, i finally found orian's eye. wats some fun build to use it
pretty good roll, 14% less fire damage
Does general elemental penetration stats apply to damage over time? Or is that limited to the Atrophy unique gloves?
Yes, they should
As long as the penetration doesn't refer to "hits" then you're good
which advanced class do I take if I want to try going fire acid flask?
neither blade dancer or marksman seems to support it much
I'm not sure acid flask is meant to be a primary ability? Like it supports other abilities right?
hey friends
I'm having a hard time understanding loot filters, when I see them posted on the forums they always ignore everything but the class they're using.
Is there a catch-all filter i can use for someone who doesn't know what they really want to play yet or something like that? I wouldn't mind getting important gearing stuff for my main class (VK or BST) while also getting exceptional stuff for other classes
sadge
https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/0-8-4e-heavyz-casual-loot-filters-for-all-classes-v2-6/25176 Heavy'z have been updated for the current patch and are very general
Hey there, I decided to work on some loot filters, for more casual players that don’t want to bother to much with the new Loot Filter that much. Those Loot Filters are also a great template to create your personal Loot Filter. Overview: What are those Loot Filters doing? Hide all Items not for your class Color all class-specific affi...
Thanks friend
Another question: I'm playing VK using War Path and all void melee stuff basically. Level 35 now and using Dreamthorn. I have no idea when/if I should replace it and how I'd go about doing it? Just gamble a weapon and then craft melee void on it?
how do u sustain life on necromancer
feels like once im out of potions im basically fucked lol
dont get hit and focus on dodging and let your minions do all the work
not rly much you can do in that situation
it could if you wanted it to be
you have smth like this and you can just use acid flask as the normal damage hit and run build
or go decoy + shadow build to throw
Well gear drops constantly, you don't have to gamble. You are only lvl 35, you'll see better stuff later
is there anything that can potentially be both fire and void
guessing no, specifically because the weapon allows both mods
actually looking a bit, there might be 🤔
First character, this is good right? what do i craft onto it? int? got it from the first monolith quest as a drop
and what does upgrading the skeleton levels thing do, does it make it +2 levels?
