Some Rogue builds can definitely feel really squishy if your char isn't max lvl and your gear isn't great
the issue is that i have hard time capping res because i get no res from the tree on Blademaster
Yeah you should try to get as much resist as you can from the item bases

Yeah that's a life changer, but keep in mind you don't have to get all of them capped to 75% if it means you lose more important mods like HP%, or hybrid life
how much hp is realistic on rogue, is 2k achievable?
Yeah 2k is easily done if you have good mods on your chest
so chest should be always %hp and hybrid hp
Vitality, HP% & +Hp on your chest (hybrid can only roll on gloves/boots/belts)
depends on the build, but yeah, vitality is the default choice
on my necro Int is king because it gives retention, minion dmg and minion life
but Dex is worse stat
yeah, necro loves int
You can get Dexterity on other slots like Rings or Relic
But where you can get Vitality, you should go for Vitality
I wouldn’t say worse as it’s damage scaling, but you get it from other sources and passives like dusk shroud
I would say the only real situation you want to use dex is if you're using something that specifically scales off the dex like mourningfrost boots on bow mage
By it I mean dodge
in the vast majority of cases, damage is easy to get enough of and survivability is the limiting factor to you progressing
bladedancer especially kinda gets insane damage just for existing
via it's passives and skills

and tankiness comes at a premium.. so it makes more sense to build tanky

Not if I ever get a weapon with T5 life gain on hit
then I'd drop the amulet for a bone amulet

also I think blade shield shuriken is still bugged with shadows
With my current attack speed I could barely maintain 6/7 stacks and it's just not worth it, makes you stand in place doing nothing just for a few stacks
and the shadow version of shuriken will shotgun the entire fan of projectiles
so it's kinda big damage

The only way to (legitimately) get Shurikens to shotgun is with the Deadly Aim node.
And even if it was somehow intended, it just invalidates all the other ways to play shuriken

Shuriken cost is zero, it makes sapping strikes proc each time you use shuriken
That & some regen, and 2 idols with the mana efficiency mod
12/13 mana regen is enough if you have a decent mana pool

btw today i found a very curious interaction inside Dread Shade
basically if you take Lone Watcher + Doom brand
the degen to minions that are NOT carrying the shade is based on degen of the minion carrying the shade would be taking (it increases overtime)
but since the minion carrying the shade takes nothing roughly 4-5 secs after you plant the shade nearby minions will start to pop nearly instantly

More curiosity than anything, outside of Mage, are there any other classes/masteries that support multiple damage type builds? The only close example I can think of perhaps is Paladin with Bleed + fire or lightning
Not sure if this is the right channel, but I've got some questions about bone splinters in the marrow shards skill tree. There are two skills that seem to grant it - does this mean you get it twice if you take both? One says "creates a cone when destroyed behind the enemy, the other deos not specify behind the enemy. But how could that make a difference? Is it not supposed to proc if it hits a bone golum instead of an enemy? I don't have enough base skills to test this.

It depends on how much total increased damage you already have, but generally yes...however, dreamthorn is on a pretty low level base with low base damage
in a lot of cases, you probably don't want increased damage as one of your weapon prefixes

Yep
it's additive with any void shred or other void pen you'd have, but yeah if it's your only source of it it's a separate 40% more damage multiplier, basically
I dont think there are many significant void shred source from the tree or skill, so it should be still useful right now.
Also I want to ask, Anomaly linger effect, since the anomaly effect has no buff indication (it should), does speccing into the linger for 2s node work on the buff?

and yeah, the only real source of void shred is...I think void cleave or the blessing from black sun timeline
I think Dreamthorn is BiS for many Sentinel builds until you're well into Monolith. Especially if you're using Void Cleave.
I've heard some people using it until level 70, I used mine until almost 60 when I found the base I wanted for my build.
It's a few entire monoliths, and that's a LOT of use out of a level 16 weapon.
yeah, great leveling weapon, but imo easily replaced by something like a Hollowblade
Sure, until you find a decent Hollowblade to craft on. Dreamthorn+Darkstride is basically a pain train for the entire story mode. Get enough mana regen to VC on cooldown and curbstomp everything. I killed most story bosses in just a few seconds with mine.

My darkstride is high rolled too, close to max %void dmg
alternative is your average rare vit/speed/life/res boots. you'll have to weigh how valuable the probably absurd movespeed it's giving you and the extra charge on void cleave against more health and balancing your resistances
gut says you probably don't want to replace them, and if you do, it'll probably only be temporarily

What I found about about LE is HP is very significant, because the base pool is so low.
The enemy isnt balanced around dealing 20k one shots like POE
Only time I ever get one shotted was fighting oroboros
And I'm using the unqiue armor the has no regen but 15% less dmg taken with 2h wep and a bunch of hp and it feels like the no regen is not a problem yet.
yeah, unless you build into regen it's pretty worthless
that chest is pretty good, though I'd probably want to transition to a rare or wings of argentus on most builds later on

It multiplies your attack speed, so you need to stack a high amount of "increased" attack speed.
Once you have that, it's one of the better nodes on the tree.
I'd say it can almost compete with Rive then but that might be an overstatement.

there are three quests for each monolith and you need both enough stability and to have completed every preceding quest in order to unlock a quest
so here you have enough stability for quests 1 and 2 but haven't completed any quests so only quest 1 is unlocked
when you complete the first quest the second will unlock and when you complete the second and have enough stability (650 i think? not 100% sure though) the third quest will unlock
So i should just go on normally untill i get more stability?
you can do the first two quests now if you want and then get stability before doing the third one or you can wait until you have enough stability to do all three at once

Sentinel, Rebuke skill.
There is a node that adds void melee damage to Rebuke's hits damage...or something that line. Does someone know if that damage is added to the damage counter of Rebuke that increases trough being hit?
(Also anyone knows a good site for all skill nodes included?)

I believe the added damage is to the final main hit not addrd the additional 20 per hit.

They are more likely to absorb projectiles, because they spin faster

I don't get how "-X spell mana cost" works. I have a staff that has base -3 spell mana cost, and it reduce my devouring orb cost by 9 and only 3 for other skills, why is it 9 instead of 3 ? If I get the unique staff that reduces void spell by 5, will it be 5 or 15 for devouring orb ?

The flat cost reduction is happening before the % increased mana cost (Dark Moon & Cosmic Impact) is being applied. So the -3 is being multiplied by the 320% increased mana cost

as far as i can tell DOT instances are created by the entitiy that spawned them, so all eligible modifiers inside that entitiy carry over
this is why MORE damage in skills carry over to the dot, but more HIT damage does not (it would but its not eligible)

hey peeps, my game launches, but gets stuck at Not Responding at the "Switch Account" screen
it gets stuck at the same place no matter how many times i relaunch the game. It was running fine until today. Any idea why?
I had that problem too. I quit the game, turned off the comp and did something else for a while, tried again in 15 mins and it started working again, so not sure what else besides that to suggest
Don't know how to help but the game is having kind of troubles now and then. I played when the game launched, everything was fine and when I came back a few weeks ago game kept crashing no matter what. Had to turn down every single graphic setting I could to make it work

Training Dummy isn't an enemy, so a lot of things don't work on it.
The second hit should still hit the dummy though as it doesn't specify enemy.

Now, before this consecrated ground ( i have it as aura ) ends i cast another judgement and therefore have consecrated ground "refreshed". If you are using dodge->gb node on blade dancer then you won't be able to convert that to block, the conversion only happens once

When it comes to Increased % to scale skill damage should I focus on stacking just one type or multiple types of what the skill scales with? Like if I have 500% increased physical or 250% physical 250% damage over time is it the same for bleed for example?
As long as the affix/thing you're stacking is relevant to the damage you're doing it doesn't matter. It's all increased (from gear/passives, with 1-ish exception) so it's all added together then applied. You just want to get the biggest numbers from your affixes.
For bleed, 500% inc phys = 250% inc phys + 250% inc DoT.

In general terms, most Increased damage modifier sources are derived from passives and gear, whereas the More damage modifier sources are from skill trees. Correct?
That's what I've observed.
Although some skill trees do still have Increased damage, I believe.
They do not. If a skill point says "increased damage" that's likely a bug and should be reported. Unless it is global stat buff, then increased is correct.

Because i was doubting myself for some time. I'm unsure if it also happens to enemies sometimes.
It does hit normally when i stop in range for the final hit. But hitting the wall outside of the final hit makes the final hit echo miss* for some reason (using the delay to walk into range).
*The 42 damage on the screenshot is only bleeding from hitting while running trough/near pass it. I tried to capture the final hit echo while not hitting.
I can't really make it out enough for an actual bug report, especially with other people not being able to repeat it.
(an actual hit does around 1-5k, just dot's from earlier hits again)
Or do echoes generally not hit if they didn't hit the target with the hit it echoes from?

Nope
There is currently a bug where if there are two damage instances very close together, there is no damage number, hit vfx etc, shown for the first damage instance. What you're experiencing may be an instance of that bug. We know the cause and are planning to fix it for 0.8.4.
I just got the game. Quick question, how locked into a mastery will I be once I choose it? Is there a way to respec it even if it's time consuming or a 1 time thing?
you cannot change a character's mastery at all, but everything else is easily respec'd

What are some fun masteries to try out that have good builds that aren’t exclusively one button builds? I played ignite pally and feeling a bit bored/burned out on the monotonous nature of it.
I’m thinking Mage might be the move for that. Might also repurpose my necro into a more fun “sacrificial” play style rather than permanent minions

Atm is flame reave(swapped to lightning)

Focus(mana sustain for flame reave)
And a ton of ward retention so I'm safer then it first appears lol

i got a skill node with added 10 melee fire basic damage.

Assuming this is flat damage, also no skills have increased effects but rather more effects as clarified by reimer a couple of days ago.
For ease, I’ll assume we are not taking into consideration any damage effectiveness or increased modifiers.
Then to my understanding this would be correct, also please note when doing damage calculations for MORE modifiers, they are multiplied separately and not added together first when calculating damage
Fair warning: this subject area is where I’m currently trying to get a lot better at knowledge wise, so I could be wrong
the melee skill damage goes as it is
all sources of added melee damage are multiplied by the skill damage multiplier, which is 100% in most cases but can be much higher for certain skills
if we assume a multiplier of 100% at this point you have 30phys and 10 fire
the skill tags are coded so they only take into account added/converted damage by the skill itself, so if you are using a Phys skill it won't get the fire tag just because you added some fire damage
but the fire damage will skill scale normally with fire related stuff
so if you have 50% increased melee damage you will do 45phys and 15 fire
and if you have 50% increased physical damage you will do 45 phys and 10 fire
and if you have 50% increased fire damage you will do 30phys and 15 fire
i understand the difference between "increased" and "more".
i understand the multiplier for skills.
i understand the tags now a bit better. the first skill for forge guard mastery is fire/phys/melee.
but how does it work if i just have "increased" damage? melee, physical and fire at 150%? (total)

Holding alt while hovering over the node will display the scaling provided by each tag. Pretty sure the forged by fire node adds the fire scaling tag to forged weapons but I don't have a FG to test it. I don't believe the planner adds the tags properly yet.

it doesn't make it hit, it's still damage over time
it just only does a portion of its total damage when you hit the enemy
you need to be able to hit the enemy 21 times during the duration of the dot to make it break even as far as I know

consider 1.2 atk speed swords on Warpath - that is 3.45 atks/sec before atk speed increases
with 100 Increased atk speed you are up to around 7 atk/sec
abyssal decay has 6 sec duration, so over its entire duration if you attacked constantly you'd get 6x7x0.05 or 210% damage and without the node you'd pop it instantly for 100% of its damage
any additional hit source like procs will ramp this even further
in practice... guess it depends on how often you apply abyssal decay and how high your hit rate is

i think the idea of it is that most enemies dont live for the full duration of the dot, so you take that node when you can push more damage from it from hits, than waiting for the time
(for abyssal echoes)
idk that the math works out even in that case, but the only real use it has is when an enemy would be dead before echoes ran out anyway, and you can burst out more with that node
if its just single target long fight, then it'd basically be a meme build, cus everything you do would have to be built around that single idea to actually make it worth it
hello boys and girls. I have a question regarding "Alignment" passive on paladin passive tree. It says, that every 3 seconds next spell i cast has increased healing. So this works so, that if i stand still i get a status icon after 3 seconds, which dissapears after i cast a spell. Now, when i enable "Holy Aura" aura, then the "Alignment" icon dissapears instantly after 3 sec period has passed. That means that "Holy Aura" triggers the "Alignment". Is it intended ? Because for me it seems like a bug, cos aura after turning it on, shouldn`t trigger "on cast" abilites.
I am pretty sure since is no "Healing" ability tag implemented that passive will fire for any ability with the "spell" tag - whether it can heal at all or not doesn't matter

I believe so, since dodge chance is most likely rolled before any damage calculations as success is no damage. I believe Ward is before anything else in terms of other defensive layers outside of CA

+100% damage reflec and 240 damage for attackers when being hit makes it fun to just stand there and watch small/medium enemies to just kill them self.
But stronger enemies, it is kind of irrelevant.
And since small/medium enemies just die anyway like cannon fodder...
It never used to be since you're not in the monolith when you open it.
Not really. The % reflect is based on the damage you take to life (or ward) after mitigation. Pets make for a better reflect build since they have no resists/mitigation by default so they can reflect more damage.

Everything has diminishing returns.
If you have 100% CDR, the new cooldown will be x / (1+1) (ie, 50% of whatever the original cooldown was), if you then add an additional 100% the new cooldown would be x / (1+2) (33% of the original cooldown), another 100% CDR would take it down to 25% of the original cooldown, etc.

this skill is mostly useless i believe it turns enemy SLOWS into haste
so bascially if an enemy that has active abyssal decay on it hits you and would apply slow to you instead you get haste

It might be bugged. Tested the node out by hard casting it and triggering abyssal echoes with void cleave against enemies and never received the haste buff. The enemies are clearly slowed by abyssal decay (try casting abyssal echoes then walk away to see their movement impaired) . I can't find anything on the forums or discord regarding this though which makes me think I'm doing something wrong or my interpretation of the node is incorrect. It just seems like the kind of issue that would've been brought to light by now.
Does erasing strikes’ 100% slow chance work for you?

hi, there`s a "Swift Verdict " node in "Judgement", which is supposed to reduce CD and manacost of Consecrated Ground. Now is that a typing mistake? Because afaik consecrated ground is cast each time when Judgement is cast so does that node reducs cd etc. of Judgement skill or do i understand sth wrong ?
If you happen to have anomaly time bubble, is it meant to still slow enemy if time bubble is cast on yourself and enemy is in bubble?
3 stacks of slow is very obvious but the 1 stack’s I can’t really tell until enemies have significant health to not die so easily

Yes this works as well. Just cast Anomaly and run away to see it. Stop hitting things if you're trying to test the slow from it.

I have a mechanics question. The shaman 'Swipe' node 'Umjol's Guidance' adds up to 21 points of Lightening Damage to swipe. Does that damage get increased by swipe's '4% increased damage per point of strength'?

you cant out leach anything on 1k... empowered monos will routinely chunk you for over 1h direct hits
stuff like overlapping meteors from embermages just gives you no time to leech back

No
But the mobs do get 1% resist pen per area level up to 75. So the game is balanced around you (effectively) having 0 resist at the end game.
The penetration takes place after the resist cap so you can't "gear through it".

Yes, slower levelling at higher levels is normal
It also depends on the modifiers you take & how much % xp they give.

75 is when things slow down for character levels, however, as you do higher level regular monos the exp will naturally increase due to the amount of rare enemies that spawn increases and the modifiers Llama mentioned will last a bit longer.
Also, go further away from the center as the further away you get, the longer the modifiers will last.
Empowered monos naturally does the same thing

How well does Forgeguard do as a summoner compared to necro? They can both summon tons of pets, and I certainly do like the forgeguard aesthetic, but I feel like necro has far more pet utility and setups?
Pet set-up/utility, yes. However, FG more than holds it own in terms of damage. They're each distinct which is nice.
If you're a huge fan of summoner builds, particularly permanent pets, I'd say go Necro. But FG is one of my favorite masteries, particularly with the recent patch changes and the introduction of Void Cleave and Multistrike
How would you do a 'full' summoner FG you think? They do have a few summoning skills, although I don't think they have enough for all 5 slots.

My necro is all 5 😛 warriors, mages, golem, wraiths, and the exploding zombies.
Sentinel is an active minion build. You're getting in the mix as well.
Now Necro abomination build I believe can benefit from that with abomination, but I prefer active style myself
My necro build just uses rogues and death knights, I use dread shade to buff and then a combination of spirit plague and harvest. I also use the Sinathias set
I couldn't stand abom when I tried it. For the FG though, what about skill 4 and 5? the shields that surround you and what, something else to proc pets? whirlwind maybe? I prefer builds to be as passive as possible, personally...busted hands unfortunately
so pets are generally perfect in most games
You're probably using a 2H for Void Cleave.
Really with Forge Strike it summons plenty of forged weapons
My FG usually has 12-14 weapons flying around.
Multi strike has a Forge Strike cast built in along with forged weapons with armament stacks. I also use lunge to reset forge strike and void cleave cd on kill
I suppose it comes down to, FG and Necro, which is more passive/safer? Necro survival is more or less just exploding zombies giving mountains of ward, I haven't needed anything else yet. No idea how FG works since I've never played it. I am in love with the aesthetic of the FG though >>

It's only a 2 sec cd. You can very easily alternate Void Cleave and Forge Strike and occasionally stop to gain mana back with Vengeance or Multistrike.

EHG is designing for more of an active role for summoners. Even Necro is still casting spells to support the minions.
Does anyone know - if a minion you have, like a bear, casts a skill you specialize in, such as ice thorns - i believe it uses your skill tree, but does it use your base damage? I assume it increases with minion spell damage, but not your increased spell damage?
It is a completely separate skill, it doesn't use your specialized Ice Thorns.

No, in that instance. The Spriggan Form walls do actually use your Thorns though they shouldn't since they are considered minions & therefore *shouldn't cast your Thorns.
In all other instances, however, minions don't use your skills.

for me the issue is not following a structured approach... every skill behaves differently and there is no consistency sometimes you spend mana, sometimes you don't

With that wording then it should be working as intended since the only thing the minion is involved with is providing the trigger to your skill’s proccing.

I disagree, the wording on the On Frozen Grounds node is "Root Wall segments have a chance to cast Ice Thorns each second". There's no mention of the player (unlike the Zombie nodes), and the wording is very similar to the Razor Vines node (Summoned Vines now attack with a Thorn...) & the Skellie Mage's Sacrifice nodes (Skellie Mages can cast Sacrifice on your XXX).

My comment was in regards to the “you have a chance to cast” wording in volatile zombies for the skill proc. I agree that the root wall with ice thorns is a weird circumstance if not an outright bug. It seems like this will be getting taken care of in the next patch (or now?).

If you have two different skills that cause fear, can they each cause fear on the same enemy once or can that enemy only be feared once, period?
I'd assume that both fears are "active" concurrently for their respective duration from when they get applied.

Hello guys, question addressed to veteran players (+300h or play time). Let's say you decide to do a new build (items, skills, passive, all) you start a new character and level it up. Approximately how much it takes (in hours) to do this? Taking in consideration all, build planner, make your loot filter, level character, etc.
Most of the 0.8.2 patch builds are still viable, but I would suggest Arborus’s static orb build or Nova Boy
That depends on how high of a level you are wanting to go, 1-75 I can do in ~20 hours. Planning only takes about an hour or two. But I don’t plan out every detail. I get a rough idea of the passives and skills I want to take and what the interactions should be and go from there. Unless you are extremely familiar with the tree, I think going in with a general sense and just experimenting is the best way to go. You’d be surprised the difference just 2-3 skill points can make.
Loot filter takes me about 15-20 minutes since I do it from scratch.
So that’s roughly ~25 hours at my own pace that I like. From 1-75 with all skills at 20 and got a good set of gear. Could I trim that down? Certainly, and I know several vets and content creators who can probably shave roughly 25% off of that time.

Arena is told to give more experience than monolith. If you can't take it, you could run echoes with tomes of experience for somewhat marginal gains.

Hello guys, I'm playing a marksman and want to understand how Detonating Arrow scales. I have a Bow with +60 Bow Physical Attack and one affix with +13 Bow Physical Attack so here is a total of +73 that go to Detonating Arrow, this is clear for me. Now I have another affix with 53% increase bow damage, what is this? +73 Bow Phy Attack and then add 53% = +111 Bow Phy Attack or something else?
first of all detonating arrow has 2 components
the arrow hitting and the explosion going off after 0.6 sec

yes but there is also a % factor involved
which uses your base damage
the arrow hitting is 100% i think and the detonation is 200%
ok, but my question remains, % increase bow damage how is taken in consideration?
so the arrow hitting will take its 2 base lightning damage and add all your added damage - in this case 73 physical damage
to the + Bow Phy Attack or to the all damage with bow?
and then multiply that by your increased damage
with 53% increased damage rougly 3 lightning and 112 physical
the arrow exploding will take 30 base lightning, and 200% of 73 added or 146 added
sorry its actually 150% just checked
so 30 base lightning, 150% of 73 = 110 so 140 base
it will convert the physical to lightning because the skill says so
and then apply all increase ddamage so 140*1.53

understand now, so % increase bow damage is as important as + bow phy attack or + bow fire attack etc for Detonating arrow
well the trick in this game is that increased damage is very easy to come by
late game characters will typically have at least 400% increased in most cases over 800% increased
but flat damage typically only comes from the weapon

the more you can invest in a stat, the more diminishing returns you can get, generally speaking

Also I saw a build on the internet saying this patch armor shred is one of the best to stack, but I think is wrong taking in consideration main dmg of Detonating Arrow is Lightning
Armor protects against all damage, but its more effective against physical
armor protects against all hits (vs damage over time)
30% less effective against non-physical hit damage
it does absolutely nothing vs DOT (damage over time)

again... the game is set up so the more you invest in one stat the worse it becomes
some armor shred is great
getting armor shred everywhere... probably not worth it
also sometimes there's builds which scale insanely off a specific stat. that's one of the few situations where you just want to invest in that stat no matter what.
but thats more the exception than the rule

well you have too many mana spenders and no generator
how do you sustain your mana?
haven't thought about that yet
most people use flurry and proc multishot by channeling from what ive seen
also you probably want to get the passives that make you take less damage while moving

both are viable but from my experience flurry channel with multishot proc is better
also the starting nodes in marsksman that reduce enemy dodge

your DPS plummets as a result

in Smoke bomb get the Shrouded in darkness
you dont need the bow crit nodes that much
you stack crit vuln through the roof from marskman

i got bored after some time
228 corruption in the stolen lance
it can plow further without issue
arena is extemely annoying as necromancer
you are doing fine and suddenly you are dead
because some T9 mobs focus fire you ass and you have no leech
and minions cant respond fast enough
it has very high one shot health threshold - over 12k for bosses
but ehp taking focused damage is about the same... which is not enough
ic
there's so many interesting uniques now

Hi guys, what is the difference between "% increase elemental damage" and "% increase bow elemental damage"? If I'm using a bow and a skill that is doing Lighting will be 10% = 10% right?
Both apply to that situation.
The bow one is more specific and only applies to bows, so it will probably have higher potential rolls.
Fire damage can roll higher than elemental damage, for example.
@iron thistle one more question on the same topic, I also have "% increase damage while wielding a bow"
i was going to use it in a judgment build, but it was too much overkill most of the time.
so 10% of "% increase damage while wielding a bow" is same as 10% of "% increase bow elemental damage" or 10% "% increase elemental damage" in my situation when I'm using an Lighting Skill

Sorta. 10% increased damage while wielding a bow would also apply to other things that don't necessarily have the bow tag, like Throw Decoy.
I was looking at tunks site and noticed many minions have more/less damage modifiers slapped on them. Does anyone know if they actually work?
They would work the same as all other skills that have more modifiers on them.
It's not skills it's the minion themselves. All skeleton mage variants except the death knight have 14% less for example
it probably works though... it explains why Flame Wraiths do so much more dmg compared to Pyromancers
they use the same spell - Fireball
With the release of chapter 9 mobs, is it equally “safe” as before to go with 0% poison resistance?
Ah, yeah I've not really tried any of the endgame content after chapter 9 was added, sorry
Depends how quickly you can kill the mobs & how much leech/sustain you have. I took a (non-Vit) Smite VK with ~5% poison res through chapter 9 without any difficulty
With arena in mind I’d say go with resistance in poison. Monos can be hit or miss depending on the enemy generation but I think you could definitely get away with less resistance in monos than arena
Apart from early on, it's easier to generate space in monos than arena to gain some time to breath & regen some hp

Is Shred Armor capped at 100% ?

i have these 2 other nodes that i'm not sure if they're conflicting
Not even Block, Glancing Blow, or Crit chance are capped at 100% (they just generally don't do much beyond that point).

i've worked with 2k hp as a baseline for range characters... is there a good baseline to consider for melee?
i somehow feel that 2k is not enough for melee after failing to hit wave 200 in arena
As much as you can possibly get if you're trying to push arena as a melee build
3-3.5k is probably realistic

or wait, does the damage component work on ranged but the area component only work on melee?
cause i was wanting the area component for my ranged attacks to make it easier to hit bosses with multiple projectiles at once
the melee hit has a visual "length"
i just tried it all animations look the same
so either the animation doesnt change but the hit box expands or it doesnt work at all
as for Penumbral Ambish i am not sure if it can even hit the same target
Projectiles do NOT hit the sale target if they were launched from the same skill use*.
*unless specified otherwise
i can confirm that i have had penumbral ambush hit the same target
but it only worked on specific enemies from specific attack angles
but i was definitely getting multiple instances of damage from the same shot
just seemed really hard to pull off which is why i wanted that node to increase the area
well, it’d help add overlap to the shots which is a big deal
when one shot hits its like 4k damage
if two hit its 8k
it’s doubling my damage every 3 hits if it does work
the problem is that the shots have no overlap by default i don’t think
but i’m not here to have my build’s efficiency discussed, i just want to know if it works the way i think or not lol
here's a screenshot of me hitting an enemy twice with the shot from penumbral ambush, which does not specify it can hit the same enemy multiple times
@fierce kraken is this a bug or something?
the 2800 and 3800 instances of damage are both from the same shot
this only seems to work on certain enemies who have a very large hitbox
