It's how you prefer to play the game. The devs give two options so you can play how you like! If you want to get the exact item you want from an auction house like screen, you'll like MG - for example trade PoE. If you prefer to grind the items yourself, you'll like CoF - for example SSF PoE. Just note that for MG items can only be bought/sold once in LE and there's no direct player to player trades. It's all done on an asynchronous Bazaar - so the other person doesn't need to be online. Also if you want to play offline, play CoF as MG offline doesn't give you any benefit.

Click on a slot, click on an item type on the left, at the top of the right, unselect Basic and Set so that's it's Uniques or use the Search box at the top to locate the item. Correct. Armor only helps with Hits. If you're primarily doing DoTs, then you're not hitting. Now if you have a Hit that's applying the DoT, it can help with that Hit.

Also the generic attribute scaling, for example +4% damage per Attunement on Smite or whatever attribute the skill scales with.

Some. Clearing each dungeon for the first time on a new character will grant you two passive points and one idol slot reward. So that nearly halves the amount you need to do.

Yes, on your alt just 1x level 90 to unlock empowered. and all of regular is already unlocked.

On your echo web in a monolith/timeline, look for Cemetery of the Erased. It's an entire echo, not a Tombs side area. At the end of that is an Altar that lets you put Woven Echoes into blank spots on your map.

From the top, to get really get started on Woven content, you need to find a Cemetery of the Erased. Complete it and masque will take you to the Haven, from there you get a new faction tree and he acts as a merchant for a few echoes, more as you progress. You can also get some as drops in cemeteries and tombs

Ok, check your Inventory, Woven Echoes tab, and see if you have the Seeker's Summit Woven Echo. If you put that in the map and fight the boss, you probably can get the item. It seems like a high drop rate from him.
