@charred aspen people have said this game is in between Path of Exile and Diablo 4 in terms of complexity. I'd agree with that. PoE is crazy complex, but I feel like I can make my own build in LE. I started that way, with my own build, and had no issues going through the campaign.

Don't look at it as an up or downgrade, if you shatter again, you're basically tossing everything you've previously had out of the window and start over. It's also random how good the absorbed affix is, just like it is random how many shards you get when you shatter an item

My main experience with ARPGs has been diablo 3 and 4 with only a bit of PoE, I found PoE to be both unsatisfying gameplay wise and too hard to parse without following a guide. Last Epoch is much better in both regards, I've found (at least runemaster) gameplay to be very satisfying and have a high skillcap, and with just browsing some guides for ideas I was able to make my own build/character without needing to follow along with anything, and it actually felt unique and satisfying.

No, if you managed to get 2 prefixes on it, then shatter a new item with only 2 suffixes, the 2 prefixes are removed and there's a chance to add both suffixes. Every new shatter removes everything you previously added.

So you want to craft a great weapon, then shatter it and hope for the best. Sometimes you get lucky and it adds all T5 or higher, sometimes you might get unlucky and only get a single T1 affix on it.

A dev clarified it the other day: Damage is basically either 1) A hit or 2) a DOT. Anything that isnt a dot is a hit (I believe this is a true blanket statement). Maybe there are some niche exceptions. So even indirect damage that is like proc-based ability is still a hit even if you didnt cast it yourself.

Exalted (t6/t7) affixes can only drop from enemies (or unique game mechanics like prophecy or vendors)
Since you can only craft up to t5, you cannot upgrade to exalt.

@feral hound Two potential workarounds, 1) redo the level 90 echo then go back to the island immediately. Don't go back to town or it bugs out. 2) Try going back to the first monolith and physically walking the bridges between all timelines to make sure they all exist, then going to the island.

For example,

The way this is written, it means you get 3% poison penetration per 5% poison resist up to the cap of poison resistance which is 75%.
So it gives 45%.

However, I've seen other people say it counts the overcapped poison.

Unless the build requires something like certain Unique/Idols to function, why don't you swap and see how it goes. Just hang onto your current items in case it doesn't work out, then you can swap back. It's pretty fast to re-level skills. I usually have them back to 20 after a couple fast echoes.

Bis will be hard to come by early game, pure RNG. You're restricted to current and last areas to grind. Best hint is looking to pick up specific res from enemies that cause that damage and understanding you can somewhat swap focus zone by zone.

I'm looking for a better understanding of Crit multiplier, especially in terms of relation to Increased Damage. It seems that it is always worse, because of how it rolls? I don't understand why crit multiplier is seen as "more valuable" per affix, than something like increased void damage. A sample skill provides some context/math.
100 damage, 10% increased damage. 100% crit rate, 200% crit mult.
regular damage hits for 110. Crit hits for 220.

100 Damage, 100% crit rate, 210% crit mult.
Regular damage hits for 100. Crit hits for 210.

If we use the high end of the Amulet T5 affixes for Increased Void Damage and Critical Strike Multiplier, we have 70% and 29%. For this example we presume they are exclusionary, instead of being able to take both.

100 damage, 70% increased damage. 200% crit mult.
Regular damage hits for 170. Crits for 340.

100 Damage, 229 Crit Mult
Regular Damage hits for 100, Crit hits for 229.

Crit has its own multiplicative category, and its usually lower number compare to your increase damage

Increased % is very easy to get the so the number is usually inflated, if your skill has spell, fire tag for example, all your inc dmg, fire inc dmg, spell inc dmg % will be add up together before doing multiplication on base dmg, they dont multiply with each other

Generally, in late game you can easily have a few thousand of inceased dmg % (1000 * 2500% increased dmg) for example. This number will then get enhanced by other multiplicative category, like crits mutiplier, more damage, enemy resistance shred etc. With your multiplier usually stand around 300%, getting 30% another multiplier is roughly 10% of your current dps improve, rather than 100% of another increase dmg %, which is only 1/25, roughly 4% of dmg improved.

Number may not be accurate, but the concept is there

No, unfortunately, don't die in a dungeon. 1 time run on each key. once you die you cannot reenter the same instance, get dungeon reward etc.

Im sorry if this has already been asked, i just cant seem to find any answer to my question lol. Is it possible to access Factions on my Legacy characters? i have read that you can, but i cant seem to find the NPC that unlocks them, or the zone...am i doing something wrong or am i being an idiot lol

Anyone have a suggestion for a good build that kills mobs ahead of the character? I'm playing shadow daggers Bladedancer right now and it's getting annoying having to backtrack to make sure nothing important drops behind me while I run through monos.

I was thinking about a Spellblade, but from what I have seen it's considered a weak mastery.

Makes zero sense to me. The way they have the end-game built seems just plain annoying. You put in the effort to unlock X boss and then you have to go back and do these annoying little quests. Im confused on Eternity Caches. I was told that for 1 LP I had to do tier 1, for 2 LP Tier 2, and so on. So I have 1 LP and did tier 1 but the cache is saying "Item must have a level requirement below 50". Does this mean I have to do higher tier?

Yes the tier required is based on level requirement of the item, not how much LP it has.

I'm having an issue with enemies staying upright when they die and objectives not completing because of that. Is this an issue going on atm?
