sadly it is no longer an acid flask build as this last version is betetr with just decoy, but the best version i think would be getting even more skill points in decoy and going for flask on decoy explosion plus decoys own damage
Oh sorry, T1 stands for Tier 1. There are 4 difficulty tiers for each dungeon that are gated by level.

Is there anyway to see how much damage a minion does? In my specific case, wolves. I can see how much -extra- damage they do, but I may be blind and can't see the base DPS number anywhere. To be fair I'm not entirely sure why it matters, I just like numbers
They're all loot based for this one, so whatever you like.
can grab the base numbers off of lastepochtools or tunklab...and then math. the game doesnt show them (and the tooltips would be bad if they did anyways)

Ha this is true, I think what I'm doing is trying to understsnd what items are an upgrade or not. For attacks I perform (mainly swipe) I can swap an item and see a dps number go up. That isn't the case for my wolves but I guess I can just track it by adding up all increased damage numbers in the minion panel but it does seem a little less slick

Anyone else experiencing an issue where you cannot play with any "online" characters? It just immediately says "Online play unavailable" like it isn't even trying to connect.

on topic, all the server sites say LE is up, so steam seems best culprit
its not super common, but not unheard of. can keep trying that server, or try the second best server. sometimes they just have some issues for a couple minutes.
Well, my intent is to try and play characters that could later trade and play with others. But yeah offline characters work just fine. I doubt it's steam as any other game handles multiplayer functions just fine for me. I've had this issue ever since I tried to pick the game back up a week or so ago

Well... it got even weirder. After verifying files, I logged into online play, which worked fine. I then noticed it was on US central servers, and I'm actually east coast, so I switched to east coast (even though it had slightly worse ping for some reason.) I then tried to log in with an online character, and the game minimized itself to popup Windows Defender, which said it was blocking some features. So I clicked yes to allow the game access, tabbed back into the game, annnd the game just crashed and force closed. 🙃
Tried again and crashed exactly the same, so the problem is reproducible.
Try another server
just tried US West which I hadn't tried before, exact same result, the game force closes, and another smaller window with a the Last Epoch "LE" in a circle logo appears, with a red exclamation mark in a smaller circle somewhere in it too, but it then also immediately closes before I can make out anything else on that window. That has been happening each time it crashes. The crashes always occur after about 10 seconds of it saying "connecting" for any given online character.

i think its reatarting unity, but i dont remember if that's just a stram restart or computer.
i also can solve it by loading the game like a dozen times in a row because i think the crash happens after it plods a little before crashing, so it finally sorts itself out.

there is no solid 100% way to fix unity right now. looking thru the CM's posts...unity and amd/nvidia sometimes dont seem to get along. lots of causes for it tho, which makes it hard. can always send in a support ticket, and get some help from LE's tech people

Yeah, still crashing after full steam reboot. I agree Suik, I'm not good with troubleshooting tech stuff whatsoever, and when I pay for a game it's certainly not to have to spend time doing so just to be able to play the game. I guess I'll try support, but my experience with most support staff is them leading you down a million avenues you've already tried before finally giving up and saying it's just a "you" problem.
nah, LE knows they have a unity problem. its just a lot of different causes. but they likely have a better list of fixes than we do here

unity crashes and general server stability have been high priorities for a while. should expect some big fixes on 1.0

Hey all - had a question around trading & the different guilds. Can items dropped and tagged CoF be sold on the Bazaar/etc and the whoever buys them needs to then switch to CoF to use them or can those items not be sold/traded at all. Any link to information on this would be appreciated - ty!

There's currently a very small number of cosmetics in the game. A few couple that were for people to buy into the game years and years ago, which are no longer available. And then they more recently added 4 supporter packs here https://portal.lastepoch.com/shop.
As far as getting other cosmetics in the future, who knows. I wouldn't be surprised at all if most cosmetics are MTX, like PoE, with a small number you can earn from activities, like how PoE does league challenge cosmetic rewards or something like that.
Is there any plan/option to skip the campaign after youve completed it once? This is a huge drawback for me in PoE
You can currently skip a good chunk of the campaign in Last Epoch. You reach the entrance to the end game, monoliths, somewhere in the 20s when you select your character Mastery.
You can go into monoliths whenever you're comfortable doing that. I did the campaign with one character and then skipped into monoliths on the following characters once I have 15/15 passives and 8/8 idols unlocked - which you'll get in beginning of Campaign Act 7. For comparison, I usually go into monoliths in the 40s and the first monolith area level is 58. But you don't even have to do that and can go into monoliths earlier if you want.
If you want to get the +1 all attribute quest from the end of Act 9 later, the exit of the Temporal Sanctum dungeon puts you into Act 9. Bit of a short cut. It's not a big deal if you just skip it, though. There's also the shortcuts in the other dungeons you could use to skip around even more.

Hey guys, i seem to remember that the game had a hotkey that would allow you to "lock" the screen in the state it was in when you were in a menu like the skills menu for example. and then you could move your mouse and hover over a different underlined term, and this would allow you to get more information. I don't remember what that hotkey was and i don't see it in the input keys options menu. anyone know he button i mean?
@junior knoll If I wasn't clear before, you can skip the entire campaign if you get a higher level party member / friend to warp you to End of Time.
Doing that would miss the quests that give the extra passive points and idol unlocks. Somewhat similar to how you get the 20 passive points during the PoE campaign. You can always go back and do those quests later, though.
The info I wrote about getting the unlocks and getting into the 40s first is how I do it. You do it however you want. The answer to your question is no, you are not currently required to go through all of the acts to unlock the endgame like it is with PoE. If you don't have someone to warp you there, you'd normally reach End of Time in the 20s single player.
Alt key gives additional information on some skills, is that what you were thinking about?
no not quite, when i last played a few months ago, there was a key you could hit and it would like "freeze" the screen as a still so that you could move the mouse and any tooltips that were open would not close, so if the tooltip had a an underlined term included in it, you could then hover over that and it would opened up another tooltip for more info

Yup, only a feature on LE Tools, and the key is Z (assuming you did it a while ago, it would have been Shift then)
In game, the hotkey that used to be bound to Z by default was changed to be bound to Alt+Z by default to reduce the likelihood of accidentally pressing it and not realizing they aren't getting any loot until they see a unique item beam and wonder why they can't see any items (Alt+Z in game hides all items on the ground)
I still recommend to everyone they just unbind that feature unless they actively use it, but overall it's unrelated to the LE Tools feature. Closest thing in game is holding Alt to show more info.
Is loot better in the empowered Monoliths or will i still mostly see 95% of the same garbage with an occasional standout?
I mean it does get better but you shouldn't be seeing garbage, frankly. Means you probably aren't using your filter well.
im using the maxroll squirrel build filter and tbh 99% of what i see is garbage very few items are craftable usually just stuff to shatter
no filter you find on the internet is going to be better than one you tweak yourself. adjust the filter to your needs

Yep, and to make a good filter, you'll want to know the basics of crafting and know what you need. In general, if you notice a pattern in things you see that are useless, you should tweak your filter to remove those things that you never care about.
I've got a good grasp on crafting for the most part, coming from PoE this is a breeze to understand
Just gotta take the time to actually build my own filter
The first time it might take you a little bit of time to kick the wheels around, but it's very effective
you save significantly more time than you spend if you take the time to do it well

hey guys, I'm new to the game and I'm having an issue that I can't figure out... I made a Paladin (sentinel), and after a couple of levels I get a swirl attack (initially bound to W)... sometimes when I press it, it acts as I would expect (only spins while im holding the button down)... other times it seems to "lock in", and continues after i have stopped pressing the key/button
it spins until i am out of mana, which is feeling bad... is this a bug or am I not understanding the mechanics of how this ability works?
That'd be Warpath and that's a bug that exists solely in online afaik. Just click another ability or tap the button a couple times and it should stop.

It's an issue with the underlying system of the skill in relation to the servers, so it's been around since online came out but it's a low priority bug since it isn't game breaking and barely affects the ability itself.

it affects me greatly, half the time im running out of mana. it adds something i need finger/mental dexterity for, as a newbie it adds to my workload

why don't they just remove the ability
Removing the ability is far, far worse than just leaving alone the minor bug in its function. It's the only ability that I'm aware of that has that particular issue. Some other channeled abilities have their own problems but nothing of the same nature and all of them are known about. They moved away from pushing large bug patches a while ago because each patch they put out would extend the amount of time it would take to finish 1.0, easier to bundle into one patch with the release.
welp, thanks for the info... i completely disagree with your estimation that it's a "minor annoyance", the game is releasing in a bit over a month and there is a glaring bug in the second skill a newbie gets as a paladin

heres a dumb question, i havent played the game although ive owned it for a yr plus. With the release coming up im wondering how different will the 1.0 version be to now? will it wipe should i play now or will systems be different
It won't wipe, all current progress will go to legacy (the equivalent of PoE's standard league or Diablo's eternal realm).
There will be two new masteries (Warlock for Acolyte and Falconer for Rogue), a bit of a rework to Shaman and some Shaman/Primalist skills, a slight rework to the core endgame, new items as with every content patch, and the faction system. And a balance pass but we don't have an estimation of how large.
Personal opinion different enough that it'll be noticeable but not different to the point where you're going to have to relearn anything.

It's an interaction used for a few different builds with those boots that work quite well. Often used for bowmage with Dragonsong or Reign of Winter because their built in scales have very high effective added damage.

Other skills that can also cause this bug is disintegrate from mage, shield rush from sentinel, and a few other channeling skills, but most people don't just tap the button that would cause the bug
FWIW as we've gotten closer to 1.0, we're focusing less on many patch/releases for bug fixes and more focusing on our Community Testing leading up to 1.0 🙂

Flurry insisting on not getting fixed is one of my favorites
Channel skills suffering from press and releases problems it’s a lot more complicated to resolve then it appears on the surface. We had to do multiple related fixes to make them more durable, think it’s related to server/client delay which is a huge can of worms (not a quick fix).
Pushing bug is something I have personally aimed to resolve for bosses and large enemies. It had to be done on an enemy per bases, it will be ready for players for 1.0.
For flurry as well as detonating arrows have been suffering from many different weird problems. They were not easy to resolve. It’s not that we didn’t know about them, it’s that unraveling why they were doing that they were doing not an easy fix. Many problems, I am very confident we will resolve them by 1.0.
I love how flurry and I have patiently been waiting to play it again once our team has fixed the bugs, trust me, it’s not just you guys that want it to be fixed asap. 😭
i wish it will get fixed, my fav build on sentinel which is bleed/ignite shield rush suffers a lot from it, at least u can play around this bug with loss of dps but still

I understand. I actually talked about my concerns about channeling skills internally with our production last week. We have eyes on it. I’ll do the best I can to ensure they feel better at 1.0. If we don’t meet that goal I’ll work heavy to make sure the following patch aims to address those problems.
it seems like in case of shield rush it has to do startup animation, which is short but exists for all channeling skills iirc, because as soon as you start moving on SR you can safely let go and not get stuck, but if you just tap u get bugged

I understand the bug. I been playing flame rush internally recently off the lock. Channel skills currently don’t like being tapped, I don’t have the technical knowledge of why they are suffering from this problem, but if it was an easy fix we would have done it asap.

Majority of the time bugs don’t get address right away it is because they are lower prio or they have technical problem that only certain people in the company have the knowledge to address. Normally those people are busy doing a lot of other extremely important things. 😦
I think there is a really sad mindset that we don’t care about bugs when we do, we resolve bugs that will never see the light of day. There is just never enough time to do everything. It sucks.

When I read the Reddit for this game, I always see people commenting about massive rubberbanding issues and lag. I've played online, and I don't ever experience lag or rubberbanding. Not trying to say it doesn't happen for others, but I've been having a great experience with this game online. I've had much worse issues with rubberbanding and lag issues in Diablo 4.

The chaos is the bigger risk there, as there's so many potential outcomes you hit, while there's a 1/3 chance you remove the right thing with rune of removal.
It's only a Tier 2 warpath, so it's really not that valuable an item to work from.
Chaos also has the advantage that I'll start at a higher tier if I hit.
With rune of removal I have to start at T1, so very likely I won't reach 4xT5 before I run out of forging potential

health and vit are fine but w.e 1x1 you get, isnt changing much, numbers are just too small...really best is the 1x2 idols cuz they can roll health on both slots.

Regardless of the Class, just for pick up and keep it maybe because its good
nothing stops you from using smaller idols to fill up your stats until you get proper gear
health helps everything. if you are in a ward build sure, you can get some retention. the damage % idols arent as great, cuz you get so much dmg%'s from skills and gear, and passive trees to the point the returns you get on it isnt good enough to take over health

there are some build exceptions, that need to take specific idols, like flame wraiths, or smite on hit...but mostly just health and touch up res

Hi all, I'm following a build that I found online. I am a new player, fairly new to the genre and completely new to Last Epoch. Currently, I am level 61 on my Runemaster. I was wondering how to go about finding gear and upgrading it. I understand how the upgrading system works. I know what the runes, affixes and glyphs do, but I'm not sure what to do if the forging potential of an item reaches 0 and I don't have all the desired affixes on it yet.
For example, according to the build, I need to put 4 certain affixes on my helmet. What should I do if I manage to get 2 of them on my helmet and cannot get the other 2, because the forging potential is already 0? Do I just get another helmet from a drop and try again? Do I transfer the affixes from my current helmet to the new one? Is that even possible?
I guess what I'm asking is: how should I approach gearing strategy as someone who just reached the Monolith of Fate? Hopefully you can help me.
short answer: yes, find a new helmet and try again until you get the stats you want
if FP reaches 0, crafting on that item is done. basically bricked. yes, thats the game gear grind. crafting is likel going to end in failure a lot of the time. and getting better gear just keeps raising the bar. dont try making every helmet perfect. adjust your loor filter to only show helmets that have 1/2 affixes you want already, so its easier to get more of what you want at higher tiers
you also still have a bit of a ways to go, you havent unlocked all the base item types yet. and i dont even think you can craft a t20 item yet (4x t5 affixes). so dont worry about getting perfect gear currently, and set some shorter goals for your gear
also dont break your neck to get EXACTLY all affixes from your guide on exactly the same items
fire resist on helmet for example should give you a clue that you need fire resistance, got that somewhere else? cool, you can use another suffix on your helmet then
there are exceptions to this, generally you can only get movement speed on boots and so on, but you will figure that out along the way

most generic affix shards you will have more than enough along the way
stuff like +skills is more rare, but you can filter those and shatter to get the shards
you get tons of basic crafting mats, but if you craft on every piece you will run out. as long as you are a little selective, you wont run out of the basic stuff.
the rare stuff, +skills, pen, despair glyphs, hybrid health, those use sparing and when you are feeling really good on an itme

I'm getting absolutely wrecked by the Shade of Orobyss. Last killing blow is void damage, even with 93% void resistance. Does anyone have any tips for surviving it?
93 void res is too much to begin with
since resistances over 75% do nothing except in corner case situations that won't apply here
dont get hit tbh. a lot of his moves should be avoided beyond that...more health
the cool thing with orobyss tho, is that all his nodes are different. so if one is a struggle...just pick a different one
if all you're doing for defenses is building resistances you're going to struggle
but also yeah boss attacks are mostly not intended to be tanked and even well built characters won't survive most of the bigger boss attacks
you just have to learn the telegraphs and move out of the way

everyone should cap crit avoid or reduced bonus damage taken from critical strike
hp builds should invest in hp + % endurance
ward builds should invest in ward retention
then you typically want armor or dodge or both
skills/items that offer % damage reduction are also really powerful but there isn't like a stat for that that you just craft

well gear would drop at the area level...so they wouldnt get gear for a bit. and they need to stay within a screen or so to even get xp...which one stray anything is going to kill them. but yes, its possible to powerlevel someone else

its not going to unless you specifically tell it to block certain bases/class affixes. not normally a big issue tho. the drops are weighted towards your class very heavily. shouldnt see more than one or two on occasion

and if it matches a rule, it stops there and doesn't keep going
so you need to put your recolor rules at the top
i'm assuming it's getting a hit on the first or second rule
the top two rules only apply to weapons

so here's what all my endgame level 100 lootfilters look like
the blue rule is, ANY ITEM with at least 2 affixes that i want (i assume i can craft the other 2 on)
the red rule is just whatever shards i'm currently looking for
the blue rule is also limited by item base
it's way easier to set up this way and works just as well

this also means i can copy-paste the filter to other characters
and very quickly get it swapped over to their needs, just by checking the affixes for their BiS gear
while the red rule always stays the same between all characters, since i'm always looking for rare shards no matter what char
when i reach endgame, i then go in and check only the highest level item bases, or exactly the bases i want, for the blue rule
but it's like, way way less maintenance to get a usable filter

When offline, you are "SSF" in PoE terms. In LE terms, it's called Solo Account Found (SAF). The checkbox to enable the Solo Challenge in offline mode has incorrect text that explains SAF (which is the online version of Solo Challenge) - enabling to Solo Challenge in offline sets the character in Solo Character Found (SCF), which means that character has its own exclusive stash and cannot share anything with any other characters. SCF is not available in online yet, but will be at 1.0 unless it got axed.

thats a unity error. there are a lot of causes for it. can try waiting a bit, or just keep trying to brute force it. if its a connection thing, try logging into a differnet server. restarting the computer might fix some stuff. like i said, tons of causes for it right now

Has anyone done a serious LE vs POE comparison? Like for ex this item faction system blows trade and ssf from POE out of the water.
I've also heard LE crafting is better then POEs. But POE has wayy better endgame

i think casuals will enjoy the game way more other than that cant say for sure
loads of people have done it, the problem is everything is so subjective (and it also tends to result in lots of arguments because of that)
like there's really not much you can get everyone to agree on besides really basic things like "LE is more beginner friendly" or "PoE has more content"
for example, if you're a believer in PoE's trade philosophy then LE's trade system "sucks" because it violates some key principles of that philosophy.
or if you're a super duper no life player you'll probably prefer PoE's crafting to LE's because it gives you more tools to make great items whereas making great items in LE is very RNG-dependent
I'm not saying any of that is right or wrong, to be clear. my point is just that it devolves very quickly into what you personally want from a game, so trying to make a comparison can really only be done for you personally

So I'm trying a build where I use the "Enigma" passive in the Runic Invocation (RE) skill tree. With that I'll teleport forward and cast RE. When I've just casted RE I have a 12 seconds cooldown on it but everytime I use teleport it gets extended by 5s. So if I teleport 2 times after using RE, I get a 22s cooldown before I can use RE again.
Is there a way to reduce the effect of teleport on the RE if I'm using Enigma?
well, most people just trade trade trade, yes. crafting is generally the domain of very experienced players with lots of currency, because it is very complicated and usually requires lots of currency to get items that are better than you'd be able to get by just trading.
but for those people who are willing to learn all the intricacies of the various crafting systems and throw tons of currency at single items, PoE is rewarding and lets you make the insane items you can sell for profit or the literally perfect showcases you see on reddit. can't do anything like that in LE.
again, not saying this is good or bad in general because it depends heavily on what you personally want from a game.
No, the game does not intend you to use more than one traversal skill in any particular build. I would say it's a bug the way you can force some traversals to grow their cooldown toward infinity, but generally just don't do that
PoE's endgame crafting is very deterministic. It is just expensive and requires you to have the knowledge of how to do it. And not hate clicking a lot.

It's 17s right now because Enigma adds 5s and Author of Arcana adds +12.
Enigma's default cooldown is 5s, you can avoid taking the +12

For example, you can spec nova to be just lightning, be cast 3 times along your teleport path, and also apply spark charges on hit. It's pretty fun on a spark charge build (but you'll usually use lightning blast for single target)
I haven't done much using runic invocation's version of enigma, but I think the spark charge version of it is really effective
Sorry I forgot that I want my build to revolve around "Grand Prism Nova". Which is an Invocation that deals fire cold and lightning damage.
Kinda like that, but also uniques with LP split up by amount of LP and a ton of tabs just for exalted items (to use for legendary crafting or as crafting bases)

Yes, still unlocks all the things for them it normally would. They don't need stability. The only way to unlock empowered versions remains to beat the three final monolith bosses (the ones that are level 90 normally, but you can do it on empowered and it'll still work fine).

Hi new to the game started yesterday. I am trying to make a minion freeze build. And I got unique boots with that stat does it apply to my minions as well or does it always specifically have to state minions to affect them? Is it also possible to add cold dmg to my wraiths?
Always has to say minions to apply to them. It might be possible to add cold damage to wraiths, but there's no cold conversion so they'll never be able to freeze anything
There are a few mobs immune to freeze (and stun). But generally it's possible.

Right now my freezes are really unrealiable. I only have Frozen Eyes of Formosus that gives a freeze multiplier. I am probably missing a "build enabling" unique/set to make this feel good. I am trying to farm Lich's Scorn from Formosus.
Yeah, it would be neat - there's not a lot of cold acolyte minions to pick from, but I think it's okay for now since builds usually focus on one minion type.
As for improving your freezes - to make them reliable, you need a skill with a decent freeze rate, scale the skill to hit really fast, freeze rate multiplier, freeze rate multiplier per chill (what you get from the amulet), and frostbite.
Each of those stats is multiplicative with all the others, so you want them all up to good levels to maximize your freeze potential. And of course also need to apply chill to get the freeze rate per chill bonus.
yep I focused on attack speed and I basically always have 3 chill stacks up. Frostbite I dont have yet I am trying to get it from the off hand item which I am trying to farm right now. Thank you again!
Tbf I think the poll heavily favours more dedicated/veteran players which I think are generally leaning towards CoF right now (me being one of them). While a lot of casuals will see trade and click basically , coming from other arpg's and stuff

That armor/crit mitigation one is bugged. It doesn't have a name in the inventory. And it shows up aa "715" on items in the crafting interface.

So I completed a portion of the main quest while my wife showered...she came back and I grouped up with her and we started working on the quest again, but obviously I had to back track since she wasn't on the same stage as me...when we got to one of the bosses...he would spawn...I left her party and she TPed out and back in to create a new instance and he spawned...was that because I had already done that part of the quest...or was it just a bug?

Drops themselves don't change but you can gift drops to each other if it happened while you're in the same area. There is health scaling on mobs, but it isn't super noticeable in my experience.

one question, i'm playing a totem shamman build, and I find I lack health regen. in early stages i used leech on melee to recover life and it worked nice but now i don't have a source of melee. how do casters deal with health regen?
Well. That's a minion build problem really. Casters just get spell leech usually. But totems are minions and you can't leech from minions so you'll have to either subsidize with a skill you directly hit with and leech from that or get regen from something.
are the other ways of regen like helth/s or health/melee hit worth it? i haven't experimented with them much
i dont know haman well but mayb there is a chance for u to convert to a ward build

Health on melee hit is extremely small and not useful unless you have very high hit rate. You may be able to get some regen from things like Warcry or Summon Spriggan.

I'm not sure the OP meant time-wise, but patch content-wise. We know that 1.0 will include at least 2 new masteries (Falcon and Warlock) but also the 2 factions, possibly shaman overhaul, possibly some new chapters to the campaign, all the UI elements that are required for season cycles. There's loot filter changes in there too. I tihnk the patch notes will be BIG.

There's a minimum level per key. Someone might know all the key level requirements, but the game guide does call out temporal sanctum as requiring rare enemies of level 54+
in the loot filter menu in the advanced section there is a thing that lets you limit how many total tiers of mods there are on an item. does this work by just adding up all the tier values of all mods on the item and then showing them or hiding them based on the number you pick? not sure i understand it
like if I set it to only show items with more than 12 mod tiers, it would show me an item with three tier 5 mods, but not an item with two tier 5 mods?

We do know they have been in a feature freeze for a while. The only thing they are doing is bug fixing and fine tuning the existing features.
cause i was thinking of mastering roots, and you can pick to either give minions more physical damage, or more spell damage

physical is the element of the skill (like lightning, fire, void) and spell is the kind of attack
its normal for newbies to confuse physical with melee
but does lightning attacks count as melee or as a spell?
The follow-up node gives them melee lightning damage
but prior to that, the only lightning damage wolves would deal is from the storm caller's reprisal node before it that gives them a lightning retaliation spell
if you hover over storm callers reprisal node and press alt you can see the lightning's tags
Melee attacks can deal lightning damage, and it'll scale with melee damage in that case
oooh wait i get it, cloud runners is a buff for reprisal, not the lightning meleee

It buffs the melee lightning from Storm Jaws as well
and the lightning wolf helmet, too - lightning wolves are a very strong build due to that helm

So what am supposed to do with them ?
if they are important affixes, either shatter runes or removal runes. that makes shards, and you can use those tshards to increase/add affixes on other gear
and if they arent important and you dont plan to equip the item, just dont pick it
selling is not worth it

Can I find Orobiss shadow or whatever the name is before lvl100 echos? Should I just run towards the echos till lvl 100 and completing quests ? How is corruption gained and how will it affect my echos ? thanks in advance
You can find shades of orobyss before empowered but I wouldn't really recommend doing them until you're in empowered

The Shade does appear before the level 100 monos, no reason to kill it beforehand. Killing it is how you scale corruption.

Corruption simply gives enemies more hp and damage, and gives you more rarity for items
Shades specifically also have a few unique items that they only start dropping at certain corruption thresholds
Corruption, as simplest I can phrase it, increases danger and rewards
Same with the blessings you unlock all 5 options at 200 corruption
Corruption scaling is also getting rebalanced in 1.0

u get more lp chance with higher corruption, bigger damage on enemies from corruption bonus and max 3 mods from monoliths that never scale with corruption

Add up, they're all increases.
Each instance of something that has a freeze rate is applied independently. Then you multiply that chance by your total % freeze rate multiplier, % freeze rate per stack of chill, and the enemy's % increased chance to be frozen (i.e. from frostbite).
just to be really clear here, FRM is multiplicative with FR/Chill
so if they act independently what kzb said is contradicting or am i misunderstanding
how do multiple instance of freeze interact with each other, do they just get stored on the target until the threshold is met?

Newer freeze should overwrite older freeze. There aren't too many ways to change freeze duration, so usually this doesn't matter much.
as a 2 day old player myself... my advice is, just keep playing. you wont need to craft until around chapter 6-8 where enemies deal different elements.
So I just pick the gear that improves my char and ignore the rest, right?
if you keep dying from 1 shots, that's a good time to craft and improve your gear.
The independently thing I mean is like, each application of some freeze rate effect applied to an enemy. So like two different hits that have a freeze rate attached.
There is no combining or building up "coldness" on enemies for an eventual freeze
so in theory if i have 2 skills with freeze, there is no point in increasing freeze multiplier on the skill with lower values, since that will always be overwritten with the stronger one (except on very weak enemies)
The lower one will just be less likely to freeze, but it's still extra freeze chance
right, but at some point that will fall off compared to the stronger skill
since only one instance of freeze can apply there wouldnt be a point
unless one of your things that can freeze has % increased freeze duration or something similar, it doesn't matter which one does the freezing since they'll all be the same
okay, im just asking specifically so i can skip the freeze multiplier on skill trees of "weaker" skills

I do not suppose anyone can tell me why I still take a ton of damage from mobs? Specifically fire and void. As you can see I am over capped on all res apart from poison, and when using Sigil of Hope I am at 200% fire res and 160% void. I heard some one mention about spell pen for the area levels but I am not to sure

Yep, and vessels only affect regular echoes (so like, you can't reset one memory vessel by running another one)
