good thing the first dungeon forces us to try it with a low level unique so we can fail, due to that stupid process, with an item less valuable to us
Until I looked up a guide it didn't occur to me that I could avoid julras screen wide explosion with switching time
It didnt help that the quest log says "continue forward in the dungeon"
Well I guess they could have made it so that you need to switch to ruined to get out of room
yes
Well can't be bad to give that feedback in #368968647114227723
that would have been ideal, and they should implement that
Could be as simple as a confirmation before leaving saying "You left an item in cache, its gonna be deleted"
Agreed
if it weren't for the quest log, making me think that continuing the dungeon would give me the sealed item, I would've stayed in that area until I got an answer
Still I think reading the text on the screen telling you what to do is kinda a no brainer
after putting items in the cache in divine era
Well, it didnt help, and I doubt I am the only person to experience this, so unless we want to continue making some players extremely frustrated, they will want to make another fail safe
You read in-game arpg text?! ๐ฎ I havent read any in decades and this was the first time it's come back to bite me. But, myself aside, people read less now, and will continue to read less, so.... they should probably factor that in, and save us from ourselves. (side note, I did look over this page many times, but the one sentence that matters is tucked away and not in the FAQ: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/legendary-items-and-eternity-cache/45738)
You also can't lose items that way - the next dungeon run will still have it.
I watched the gif, it doesn't show them press the D button, they cut around it
Thank you!
is there a way to track quest?
is there a build that uses physical damage cause ive gotten way too many items that just use physical damage
a single quest or are you looking to know how many quests you've done?
a single quest
single quest: the drop down on the right beneath the minimap
does future strike scale on void damage?
I know it says 60 void damage but wondering if it was just a flat 60 or if it scales
it will scale with increased void damage and iirc increased damage over time despite all happening at once
ah ok ty
also should I farm up corruption or something cause my damage really sucks ass
im not getting very lucky
all the helms and everything have nothing for me at all
are you in empowered?
Also future strike damage is extremely poor atm
so if you're building around that... that is why
its wiping everything but since i dont have a movement ability im kinda fucked when it comes to the reign of dragons boss
if you don't give him extra speed
then that move is so telegraphed you can easily get out of it
without a move skill
wdym by this
modifiers on monos
enrage at half health is a big no
i think thats the biggest culprit
ah so how do I change the mods?
mods last a certain amount of echoes
oh ok
noted by the numbers next to them
so run monos that add useless modifiers, beacons, or lost reward monos don't add any either
well useless modifiers as in ones that don't hurt your build too much
I had some pretty bad mods lmao
yeah i don't knmow how to read either sometimes xD
when you pointed that out I was like holy shit im blind
I am peeved I keep getting minion uniques and everything but im playing vk bomber
save 'em for if/when youdo
also I might have totally missed my uhh necrotic resist
vk bomber doesn't really need uniques so its chill
lol its a gamer illness
ye lmao
Hit level 94 on my first build and I'm looking at Primalist to make my second; how viable are Druid's multi-form clusters? I'm thinking of going Werebear Swarmblade mixed just looking at the trees, though I've seen a decent focus on just Werebear
That or a Shuriken build, really I wanna test everything eventually
Can someone explain why I get 10% to all damage when using this unique belt?
there's a rogue node that grants 1% increased damage per % ms, you probably have it allocated
Ah, yes you are right! Forgot I had that ๐
So I beat Monolith lvl 58 and chose 62 and after finishing it I advanced to lvl 70, but what happened to 66? Do I need to complete 58 once again and chose 66 to complete it?
yes
as a hint as well, people that rush to endgame content tend to skip the monoliths on the "left" side of the map (so 62 and the two mono's up and left of it), because their ending bonuses are drop rate modifiers which not everyone really cares about
no harm in doing it though!
I see. Thanks!
Does critical strike multiplier cap?
no, why do you think so?
critical strike multiplier is how much damage your crits deal so you can go to a morbillion if you want to and are able to
technically you can stack a million % crit chance also it just won't do much ๐
happy disintegrate noises
Hey, I was wondering if someone could help me understand a decision in a build from YT, please?
It's a rive-ignite build by epoch builds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQEcqylyeEI
The sigils tree is what im curious about (around 10 min 20 secs), so there's kind of a choice between more chance to make ignite stacks or just more damage - 6 percent chance to apply an ignite per point or just 6 percent more damage per point. The idea of the build btw is to apply ignites then strip them off with the 3rd attack to apply more damage which also always crits. So, more ignites, more physical damage essentially.
What i don't understand is why 6 percent chance to apply an ignite (which would make rives third hit deal 15 percent more damage if it succeeds), is better than 100 percent chance of 6 percent damage?
Rive Execution Ignite Consumption Paladin, Dual Wielding For Style | Last Epoch Build Guide 8.5
In this video I go over my solo setup for Dual Wield Ignite Consumption Phys-Crit Paladin. This build was a blast and the perfect example of when to throw your shield or your 2h weapon away to dual wield weapons, to pump all of the damage out!
Twit...
Ok so first, it's not more damage from consumption, it's a buff granting increased damage that lasts 2 seconds.
I'm not actually sure which points in sigils you are referring to
In order to get to all the points he mentions as being important your tree needs to be this. You have 2 extra points and both of them go into the ignite chance
like that's basically the pathing nodes
the math does not exactly work out to be like that, you do eventually hit some diminishing returns with ignite. Tbh its more or less I forgot to put it in the ignite node. been a busy boy. Oops ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Idk why its not 4/5 or 5/5 for the ignite idk why that is wrong
yeah mine was 3 out of 5
if you had +2 to sigils on relic you could squeeze in the last 2 points. I didnt get lucky enough
Other side of it is that you consume every third hit, so you actually have 3 hits worth of ignite stacks applied by the time you consume
and also that 6% is per sigil
thanks for the reply man, i still dont get why you'd want more points in ignite chance over just more physical damage from empowering sigils though. I know my maths off, but it seems like the damage increase is better than a way smaller (6 percent) chance of getting some more (15% from execution) damage.
He is saying that on average you'll get more damage increase from putting those points into the flat 6% dmg node rather than the ignite
Since on average you'd get slightly less than 3% dmg from the ignite node but always 6% from the "Empowered Sigils"
it has IN THE PAST deleted uniques from bosses. So I am always sketchy
uh, i mean isnt empowering sigils better than burning sign
ohhhhh
uhhhh I mean
it really depends
at 1500% physical damage
nothing really matters
๐
lol fair enough
Well ye the dif between 1563 and 1582 isnt that big xd
but just on a theoretical basis, cause i dont understand ARPG math too well tbh
I don't think execution stacks, but if it does then the ignite does win
and there is also a bit of a question of breakpoints. If that last 6% is getting you to a multiple of 100% it is potentially worth it
I mean 6% extra ignite chance means you'll have on average 0.17 extra ignite stacks every execution, which is 2.55% increased dmg
Yep, but the distribution of outcomes at 399% vs 401% is more favourable in the bad cases.
it all averages out eventually but that doesn't matter if some bad luck means boss survives first combo or something
If anything youd probably want some utility rather than that tiny bit of extra damage
Like a better faith proc or haste after proccing it etc
Ill be honest this is an insane over analyzation over something that will never affect your actual gameplay ๐
isn't that what arpgs are all about?
Yes but the difference between 1500% phys damage and 1600% is almost undetectable, so its much better to focus one things you don't have boatloads of like crit multi and flat damage (which is also what ARPGs are about btw, shoring your weaknesses)
im much more practical minded, and I just play theg ame until it feels good and bonks Jurla good.
random thing btw, did you ever test out the lich's scorn self buffing?
Not yet
ill be honest thats probs gonna wait till next patch
this few months are looking to be insanely busy if EHG decides to do Multi by the end of the year
(I've also been addicted to torchlight infinite which doesn't help with productivity either)
I'm gonna test it rn then
please do ๐ People forget im only one person. I shouldnt nor will I test every single thing ๐
It works
oh I know it works...but how well does it perform
oh
oh I thought you were talking about infernal shade
yeah, that's a good philosophy. I just ask more for the sake of better understanding the maths in arpgs rather than as build critique, a lot of the time i dont udnerstand some or other mechanic / way formulas work so end up making suboptimal decisions as a result. Im loving the build though, its a great idea. I ended up doing a little twist on it because it just dropped me the things i needed for it - those gloves that convert bleed to ignite chance and that axe with a load of bleed. Been pretty fun
the gloves
no your all good. Its just sometimes you eventually get to the point where its just
and not even worth a thought and just click button do damage
ha yeah i get ya
i dont suppose you'd know if you make the scorpion into an ice one she makes little frost scorpions? no one seems to know and i dont wanna commit to doing a little janky build based on it if its not gonna work lol
lemme see if I can respec to something that can test it
aw no worries if thats gonna screw you for a while
i could as well, i just dont wanna re-level my skills lol
Respecs are free which is why I love this game
you get back to lv20 in like 2 echoes tops
mm but it takes ages to get em good again... ah fair, im not at high level yet
well thanks for taking a look my dude
well they look the same so build ded on the visual side
hm that doesnt bode well
they probs take after the father XD
damn, was really looking forward to that build
was gonna use the boots that make vines and the scorpion with loadsa babies and frenzy totem to give poison chance and convert it all to frost for some reason
bleagh we need real dummies in eot too
careful what u wish for. im currently in eot
They still apply poison
goddamn
thanks a lot for testing that โค๏ธ
i guess the poison variant would probably be better anyhow
newb here, first day playing today, i came across a dungeon - lightless arbor - but it says i need keys to enter. where do these keys drop?
ignore it, keep playing the other content and will get them sooner or later
They are global drops, but get progressively more common the further into the game you get
im totally going to forget to look at the enemy mods lmao than question why I died during a boss
they drop all the time when you get to Monos
is there anything i can do to get characters back that i did not delete but have disappeared( i do have cloud sync on)
I remember someone mentioning a way to grab the files directly from cloud sync
if your characters are in those ones then you are good. if not then you're probs screwed.
i mean i got cloud sync on
!multiplayer
Multiplayer is still being worked on. Here's an update: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
Hey guys, i bought game today and having a blast, small question, my character is literally missing any shadows, is this working as intented, is there maybe a setting i am missing?
There is a shadow setting in the game settings that you can try. Note that obviously with all special graphical features, it will come at a performance price, the magnitute of which will be relative to your hardware capabilities. (remember LE is generally unoptimised at the moment).
yeah, tried that no matter what settings i ticked on that map there were no shadow, weird but it seems its that map specific or something, another map actually has shadow, thx tho!
about optimization, my rig seems to be able to brute force game pretty good 10900k+6900xt, solid 100fps at least on first maps i played (my display refresh rate)
Please can you post a bug report on the forum with the maps (name in Top right corner) that dont have shadows. Its likely that you may have stumbled on a specific bug that needs investigation. Please be sure to include you player.log and system info like what gpu drivers you are using ( specific version) . A dxdiag report would have everything the devs may need re your system info.
Be careful there. The game isnt optimised so the wheels can get wobbly if you dont restrict it in some way. Later maps with special effects and higher mob density can increase the load. Generally its a good idea to make sure your gpu has headroom to spike up to max but not stay flatlined for too long.
Hey everyone, I wanted to ask how global increases work with damage over time. For example when hungering souls grant global increased damage over time, does it only apply to damage over time applied after or even to ticks occuring after from already applied damage over time effects?
A niche case could also be wandering spirits, which might have been casted already (and snapshotted without buff) but apply their dot later
i know that for bleed etc, the dmg is evened out over its duration, which would make it unlikely for a global increase to affect an ongoing dot, however for other dots (like wandering spirits) its not clear to me whehter they also work of a base damage that is evened out or an actual "per tick dmg"
The UI was showing crit multiple as 200%, but didn't change when I added a point in my passive tree... ๐
thx, noticed some maps drop to 60 fps or something without load on gpu so there are certainly stuff devs need to work in certain bioms/layout
The stat screen needs work, it does not show a LOT properly.
DoTs and duration skills like Wandering Spirits snapshot when applied or used.
well wandering spirits is applied when the spirit touches an enemy, but cast prior, does it snapshot on cast or when it actually touches the enemy?
And thank you for the reply ^^
It snapshots on cast, not when the individual spirit is created or when it touches an enemy
There is just one thing, that makes me thing it might be on reveal and that is the fact that chronicle of the damned gives u spirits on kill, which obviously need to snapshot as they are revealed, but ofc that does not mean it applies the same way to the skill
Itโs pretty easy to test on the skill with Death Seal
If you want to look into it yourself, my experience with it was definitely with it snapshotting the full cast at once
Though at the end skills are probably implemented individually, I mean a snapshot happens for sure, but yeah maybe i can test it, its just not as easy to see with my current overlapping dots x)
I'm getting obliterated by wengari mat/patriarch fight, despite having capped cold/phys resistence.. is it meant to be a difficult fight? So far the campaign and been very easy.
they just hit really hard
annoying but pretty kiteable
mainly watch for the matriarch's jump slam and patriarch's avalanche
kitable... I'm a melee build though lol
am I going to have to respec?
I get like half a second up-time on the boss before the shaman starts dropping aoe totems on me.
i also got through it on a melee build
guess its a skill issue on my part then
they also don't regen hp, so like you can just brute force it
not HC advice of course
maybe you need more HP
what's your build?
possibly.. I think I'm sitting in the high 500s. The build is using is this one:
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/EALZLEBk
I think its boardman21's FG leveling build from April 2021
so I'm also wondering if some major changes have happened that has made the build not usable.. but everything up until this fight as been a breeze
I'm lvl 42
what's your main damage here? rive?
yeah, Rive and forge strike sometimes does a good crit, but fairly infrequently
it deals nicely with large packs of small creatures, but it definitely feels inadequate for ST for anything that is an elite enemy (blue text on the health bar)
also are you using manifest armor?
yes - he gets melted in 1-2 seconds on this boss
cause there's like a couple different builds here lol
and that's even with having the nodes that increase his stats from my armor pieces
i personally have been enjoying a Forge guard build with MA and forged weapons
using warpath to proc the weapons
yeah, like I said, the build has been amazing up until this fight
that's what I've read, which is why I'm a bit confused as to where the sudden onset of difficulty has come from
those two are just really hard
the other boss fight for that chapter isn't fun either
fair enough
I might make some build tweaks then because forge strike doesn't seem to be doing enough damage to play a pseudo ranged fight
i really don't know what forge strike is doing here
ah yes
4 out of 3 points
if it's going for forged minion then i think warpath is just better now
ahh.. I was wondering what was up with that node.. So its trying to use forge strike for minion procs?
I can see how warpath would be better for that then, as it would easily get more procs
that's what i was using, but i already had the sunforged set
although i think you really don't need the chest
but you could also just go to monos at this point
Even before I've finished the campaign?
ya
you remember when you got your mastery
you can go straight to monos from there
xD
i wouldn't recommend it without proper knowhow
but you can
Alright, got it done. Didn't alter my build, but just stayed at range like you said and chipped them down with MA and Forge strike. Same with the next boss.

Hi I'm trying to understand Lootfilter rules, what does '8 subtpyes of gloves with 2 of 11 affixes and tier sum8' mean?
Click on the rule and you will find 3 conditions, by type to filter for gloves and then certain subtypes of gloves
2nd condition would be which affixes should appear with 11 chosen and 2 of them must be on the same item
The tier of the mods must also be 8 in sum, they can have 1-7 each iirc
Hello! Where can I get build advice?
you can ask here or in the class specific channels
I started building the build: Spellblade Shatter Strike
I am now level 60.
And I have to use skill "Mana Srtike" to play comfortably.
However, this skill is not in the build guide, they use another - "Firebrand" to increase damage.
Question: how to solve the mana issue? she is critically missing
(passive skill "river blade" pumped 5/5, but it does not help ๐
How close are you to sustaining it?
And what variant of shatter strike? are you doing the one with repeat casts?
Hi I'm new to LE. What content creators/websites are good to follow or use for this game?
Also what builds are good to learn the game on with low gear reqs? Are there any summoner builds that are good?
epoch builds on youtube is fantastic
The build planner website also catalogs builds and has some build guides on it https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/
In terms of learning the game, most builds work
As long as you dont pick a concept that makes next to no sense (in mike's words, don't try to play summoner void knight)
There are 2 and a half summoner classes. Necro, beastmaster, and forge guard is half of one.
I'd probs suggest forge guard just because manifest armour is a really cool skill with a lot of options
No, @cold plaza is more fantastic than me ๐
inb4 nou from perry
Inb4?
Say it out loud
in before
pls stop making me feel old :(
I dont understand why is this increasing my dps
When having Alignment skilled as a paladin, is it intended to just not work while you have holy aura in use?
whenever the latter is on my hotbar, the alignment buff will exist for a split second only before assumedly being eaten by holy aura in some way
(the passive effect, not activating the aura)
What is alignment?
you mean ailment?
It's a buff that affects the next spell every 3 seconds
There's a post on the forum about it consuming a year and a half ago
I guess holy aura just counts as being a spell that's cast constantly?
Ya
bit odd considering holy aura is the central skill of paladin and alignment is paladin only
oh well, not like there's a lack of options for heal eff on the tree
It shouldn't, no
It makes sense I guess, but not how I'd have it behave personally
Holy Aura should only count as being cast when you cast it (gaining the "active" buffs)
that seems fix-worthy at least imo
Sorry I am not a native English speaker I have never heard in before
No worries lol
If I get increased Abyssal Decay duration, does that also increase the total amount of damage or does it spread out the same damage over a longer period of time?
it increases the total amount of damage, which basically makes it a multiplicative damage stat if you're proccing the damage immediately
Nice. Thank you very much.
what's a solid build that I can use to learn the game? I've been eyeing cold dot werebear, warpath void knight, and some necro build. I come from poe so I'm looking for a build that's somewhat similar to a poe skill
I would advise cold dot werebear even if you hadn't shortlisted it. it's a very chill beginner build and not gear reliant at all. very tanky, very high clear speed. just has mediocre single target and the early levelling is a bit slow.
warpath is tempting because it's so similar to poe cyclone and has a good guide, I know. but the endgame damage just kinda sucks until you can get an apathy's maw, and that takes a while
does the tankiness come from regen or the ability to take big hits?
also is this a good guide for it? https://www.lastepochtools.com/build-guides/strength-stacking-cold-dot-werebear
kinda both, you have high hp and a ton of DR, but also very good healing
and yeah that's the standard guide for the build, I've used it personally alongside many other people here I'm sure. it's good
anything from dr3ad/epoch builds is good
oh those are the videos i've seen
do note on the suggested gear at the top though, bastion of honour is a fairly rare item and ravenous void is incredibly rare
you don't need either but don't expect to get them particularly quickly
how long does it take to finish the story and what level do I end up as?
oof. how bad is incredibly rare?
if you do the whole story it's 5-10 hours depending on build and how much you dawdle? you end up at about level 55
experienced players usually skip some amount of the story and go into endgame early then come back to clean up the story later. wouldn't recommend for your first time, but it's something to keep in mind for later
literally 10x rarer than any other unique in the game. in the endgame there are rewards you can target farm to give you a unique for a specific slot. usually the rarest items have a 1-2% drop rate from those. ravenous is 0.15% from gloves rewards
but it's just extra tankiness, it's not a required item for any build
so is that like a couple hours of playing the same content or a once a month level of drop rate? I have no idea what the endgame looks like
main endgame content is kinda like delve in poe except there's no resource you need to spend and the areas are more varied
a map of connected areas to navigate, each has a specific reward it gives that's shown on the map, infinite difficulty/reward scaling
farming gloves rewards for ravenous would take dozens of hours on average. I was farming for another unique glove a couple of weeks ago and counted how many unique glove rewards I was getting per hour on average, it was like 10-15
I don't really recommend worrying about that right off the bat
I guess it'd be something like a chase item for endgame then?
definitely
it's the single biggest chase item, because it's so rare and good in so many builds
it's just a luxury item
you absolutely don't need it
espescailly on that bear build, it's already incredibly tanky
Will there be an account wipe prior to full release?
all of your current characters and stash will be "offline"
they will all still exist and be playable but not playable online
MP/online will be a fresh start
i need someone more realistic than me to tell me frostbite sorc is not a great idea compared to ignite.. just seems like a lot less total chance at around similar damage but in exchange for safety/freezes?
i have not played ignite in LE except abusing it for rive
Oh MP brings a fresh start, that's cool!
That will be heaps of fun. Think I'll try and convince my friends to all roll necros so we can fill the screen with minions and lag out ๐
is there anyway to remove enemy modifiers on the monoliths?
Use the Beacon nodes or Quest Echoes - they will count down the stacks, but don't add new modifiers.
thanks
This is my first playthrough and I'm having an issue with the Lagon's Trial. I beat him and I think he wants me to talk to him but I cannot do so. Tentacles are blocking the stairs down so I cannot go that way. I've clicked all around his head but nothing seems to work? I beat him 4 times now and it's always the same. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
That looks pretty odd. There are obviously three stages to that fight... you beat on him to fill up the moon on the ground in front of him, then you go back down the stairs to defeat his tentacles, filling the moon on the floor at the bottom, then you teleport back up and bash away at him till he says Enough and then gives you the reward for surviving his battle.
If you use movement skills to go past his tentacles at the wrong time (up or down the stairs) then things can go wonky. Minion based builds can also have some issues with the minion targetting or summoning not working properly but this usually doesnt bork the fight. If you are using Fear ailments/debuff then that can sometimes make him get stuck and not attack you but it doesnt prevent the fight from completing normally.
I also would recommend you verify the game files to make sure your installation is ok.
Thank you. I just crawled my sorry retired butt out of bed and will give this another go this morning.
Also the secret 4th stage where you accidentally kill him in phase one right as phase 2 was supossed to start, then the loot drops at the top but every time you walk close to it you get teleported back to the bottom area.
That phase is the hardest one
Is there an alternate website to lastepochtools that people use to check drops for items?
For example of what im having issues with, Apathy's Maw apparently needs 50+ corruption to drop from Shade of Orobyss.
Neither page has this mentioned
Same issue. ๐ฆ
I checked that as soon as i pressed enter xD Sorry
haha np
Is there a way to quickly drop items from your inventory or stash tabs on the ground? I'm trying to clean up everything in the storage and there is a ton of stuff in there right now. If there was a way to keep the Stash Tabs but wipe all contents that would be awesome.
When I did that I just grabbed everything and vendored it cuz it was easier to hold shift and spam click than to drop everything
is it worth shattering items during story for shards?
If they are rare affixes or class ony affixes then yes. Its a bit expensive to shatter everything in the beginning - when you are in end game gold isnt so much of an issue anymore so you can shatter much more often.
how do I know what a rare or class affix looks like?
I only shatter mods I need and don't worry about the other ones
But removal if it's a high tier and need it asap
Class affixes are usually on class only items and are linked to a specific skill in some way. Rare ones are harder to see without experience. but you can look here https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/prefixes and sort by rarity to get an idea of the ones that are rarer.. (note thats just prefixes, there are suffixes too)
the key is that in the beginning just look out for what you need. I promise there will be LOTs of opportunities to get affixes as you go and you dont need to micromanage finding them - at least not until you have reached min/maxing stage.
oh ok thanks.
how often do ppl craft while leveling through story? I've only updated my weapon maybe twice but I think I might need to add resists or something to my armor cuz I got randomly 1 shot
Crafting becomes important once you reach mid levels and critical for end-game
I wouldn't worry about shattering during story. Only shattering for affixes once you need them works just fine thanks to item filter. Trying to shatter rare ones regularly will consume unnecessary amounts of the rune and you won't use them for quite some time likely.
am i mistaken? i thought damage effectiveness of skills affected how many stacks of ailments were applied too, or was that a warpath exclusive thing?
Because of his high AS warpath has reduced ailment chance on hit 60% iirc
so that is a warpath exclusive thing, other higher effectiveness skills dont apply multiple stacks?
It is exclusive to warpath
The two are completely separate stats/mechanics
It just happens to be both 60% on Warpath
And Flurry
and umbral blades
and spirit thorn
and my axe
rofl
"works on my end"
I'll blame relativity and say I still won
ye
:)
Hi I'm thinking about buying this game, I see that it has a very good opinni as a beta, itu my question what are the pros and cons of a given production at this stage of production? it is playable and to what stage? how is + and - this game
- Very enjoyable. Can pour hundreds of hours if your type of game.
- Some visual and gameplay stuff still feel like a low budget, beta game.
It feels like a beta game because it is a beta game
How long this "it is a beta" will be used to defend some stuff I wonder. Some things are same they were 3.5 years ago.
But still it is very enjoyable as I said
to me it's not really a defense just a fact. I haven't been around long enough to feel like things are progressing slowly if that is the issue
game gud me like
the biggest jumps in quality have all come in last year or so tbh, dunno what really changed, but ye. just a string of banger updates
I think the visuals/gameplay feeling and MP are top for me
but they probably know MP isn't here yet. Also couple missing masteries but there is enough content for people until those are added.
if I had to pick out one thing that sticks with me as very beta-ey it's how you suddenly get voice acted lines halfway into the game.
things can be subject to change etc etc but it's a little jarring
but this isn't the discussion channel oopsie, havagooday
Will we be able to keep our existing characters once Multi-player is released or will we be required to wipe our characters and start fresh?
existing characters will remain playable offline, but cannot be taken online.
ok thank you. So to bring characters on line multi-player you would need to build a new character. Which is fine. Will there be an auction house or player trading?
there will be player trading at some point, but we don't know much about it yet. the devs are still deciding on the details. it sounds like it will end up being much more limited than an auction house though.
As long as it will be possible to do some player trading. I have rotten RNG luck and can never find what I need for a build.
it doesn't sound like trading will be in for the initial multiplayer release though. not even drop trading, IIRC loot is going to be completely instanced.
will there be seasons|leagues?
yea
called cycles
tho it seems like league mechanics will be added to standard immediately
bc theyd ont want standard players to miss out on content
yeah, tx
technically 4x T7, but realistically 2x T6 or T6 + T7 is all you'll really see.
very rarely you might see triple exalted items
as in like, see other people that have found one
jesus
I've seen I think 2 total 2x t7
One died in temporal sanctum with a 3lp base
The other is patiently awaiting a unique helmet for lightning shurikens.
does this crit bonus apply to whatever skills the squirrels get?
also what about the other how nodes? like this one
I believe squirrels inherit abilities from howl with sciurine rage
Haven't ever levelled a beast master enough to get there - keep getting bored.
thats good, ty
what build uses necrotic damage cause i casually got 3 T6 items that have necrotic damage on them
I swear the game wants me to play necro it keeps giving me necro items
could probably do a lot of builds
sometimes lich uses them too
And I guess necrotic maelstrom on primalist with the boots
probably look at acolytes skills
and see if you like any
that skill has a good chance of being necrotic
lmao
Flat necrotic to spells doesnt exist, but if it did it would be incredible
ill just go with my vk bomber until the game annoys me more into playing necro
im playing hungering souls, imo its fun
flat necrotic to melee exists but isnt useful because both necrotic melee skills get flat damage instead of % from attributes
i havent even gotten to empowered with my vk bomber yet lmao
so ill play more on him than maybe swap later
i also have way too many fire items
imagine not playing lich as first character
lich is currently the only mastery I've never played ๐
just cause reaper form seems annoying
(and I'm too in love with sentinel dot builds)
reaper form is free stats because it never runs out
Technically it runs out eventually but you can refill entire health bar every frame with leech
imagine not playing sentinel as first character :^)
I still cannot seem to enjoy sentinel no matter how hard I try
Sigils needs to die in a fire
reversal needs to be vk exclusive
nah
maybe try https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61I8DuKDeYQ
while it does use both skills, it can't ever cast sigils and doesn't use reversal for mana
Righteous Fire, but it scales with Attack Speed.

I love the stats they give and hate the skills themselves. reversal is fun on vk because it fits. Why do I need to use it on every single sentinel build just to have reasonable dps?
you dont
I think "just to have reasonable dps" is a bit of a strong statement
i dont use reversal on my smite character and cruise through 400 corruption
I love not pressing 50 buttons at once like poe lmao so bomber is literally my favourite so far
plenty of builds have good dps without it, it just feels forced because it's a "free" damage amp on top
because smite doesnt cost mana XD
which isn't great, I agree
but you said damage
i wouldnt use it for mana on my smite build if i did use it
Its like playing minion necro without dread shade... Yes you can do that but why on earth do you hate yourself so much?
dread shade feels much more extreme tbh. it's much more damage than reversal and much more annoying to manage
so i cant speak on what its like
to not use dreadshade on minions
but
at the very least
anything with smites level of damage
does not need VR for damage
dread shade is just right click every 40 seconds and you're good
like
to be clear id be fine if they nerfed the damage that sigils and VR give
and gave some of that damage to the skills themselves
id be very ok with that
but i like the skills themselves
ok so imagine this though. Take your current damage dealt and you can do X content. Now more than double your damage, what content can you do?
i wasnt limited by damage
400 was real easy damage wise
but defense wise started to get spooky
which is why i didnt take VR btw
i have javalin banner
for a dash, healing, and more smites for more healing
the more damage you have the more you can invest into defense
outside of having better rolls
i dont think i could really invest more into damage
had a mostly defensive passive tree
had life in every slot i could fit it
vit where i could get it
You can start swapping inc damage rolls for str rolls for more armour
i mean, this is true
but i already had decent armor, i think i could only get like, 30% more DR
so like, maybe i could go up to 500 corruption?
but like, from what ive seen from going from 100-400
the rewards dont scale enough to even matter
anyway I did play smite a few times and the sfx made me sad :(
vfx looks great and the sfx is someone opening a bottle of soda
i love soda bottle sound tbh
I'd prefer something more punchy but I suppose this is subjective
with how fast smites go off i feel like my ears would be overwhelmed by too punchy of a sound
But its not even a new soda bottle, its the old 2/3 empty one at the back of the fridge
i would def prefer a fresher soda bottle sound :^)
XD
but yea, i do agree the power of sigils and VR need to be redistributed to the skills themselves
so they feel less mandatory
but i enjoy the skills
honestly my only complaint with actually using the skills themselves
is that sigils arent instant by default
I'm transitioning to judgment aura right now and it's not a great time so far
mana-damage node and sigils make monitoring mana levels annoying if not difficult
I suppose I can opt to not go for the mana route but it's so much damage on paper
it's not an aura version, but if you want an alternative I'm currently playing perry's new judgement build and can vouch for it being excellent. will hit 100 on it soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61I8DuKDeYQ
(EDIT: as mentioned below, this version will probably be fixed/nerfed in 0.9)
How is it annoying?
Basically you only need to use judgmentโsigilsโreversal once every 6 seconds
don't think it requires to monitor anything at all, except for the 6 seconds
some people (like me) have an aversion to upkeep timers lower than 18 or so seconds.
This is the bugged version so it's probably not good to recommend
why not? I guess adding a disclaimer that it will probably be changed in 0.9 would be good, fair enough.
I mean you can play it for sure
it doesnt really matter
just remember that thats now how the skill is supposed to function
alternatively: play it now because fomo
I've been running werebear cold dot and am enjoying it quite a bit but I want to also start farming/gearing for a smite/hammer paladin in the future so I've set my loot filter to search for chance to cast idols in preparation. Question tho - would it make more sense to try to farm those idols on a sentinel? Most idols drop for primalist so I assume its weighted today my class?
idol drops are weighted to your class yes. farming them on another class can be done, I've done it for flame wraiths. it just depends whether your goal is just to get them eventually and play it when you do, or you want to start playing the build asap. because yes, it will be way quicker to get them if you're playing a sentinel
Thats what I thought, appreciate it bro. I'll probably just keep going with this build and find em when I do.
Can anyone tell me why I'm not seeing dragon fire cast ever? Even with 100% crit chance? Is it a visual bug?
Any tips for Majasa? I'm doing a void knight, poison and fire resistance are a bit low since my health gets shredded from those. Only keeping alive from high health leech, but even then it is quite tough.
And my forging potential for current items is pretty much zero from getting other resistances up
I can barely make it by the first phase but the 2nd phase destroys my health
best advice for majasa is to just not do it
there's nothing stopping you from leaving and doing monos instead, and if you really want the reward for "finishing" campaign get it later
does future strike proc off of any type of damage?
I basically started doing that, wasn't getting any bonus experience from that fight by trying over and over again anyway
are Immolator's Oblation and Pyre of Affliction the only ways to get decent ignite stacks on yourself?
I have 2 Ashes of Mortality I'm trying to make work on a spellblade
pretty much, i will admit it does feel bad to not finish it, but chapter 9 is such a step up, even in the nerfed state now
only other way is with the bleed to ignite gloves and the self bleed on spirit plague which gives 5 stacks per cast.
Not using that setup is gimping yourself super hard
Does the Unique drop rate blessing increase the overall chance of rare drops from bosses along with common drops to drop, or is it just the chance for a unique to drop in general from normal mobs?
Question: Does this passive only work on enemies killed IN the smoke or can I shoot outside of it and blind and crit? thx
I waited on my Bowmage untill I was like 10 lvl above maplvl. Then it was quite easy ๐
I guess there's my issue
I dismissed reversal right out the gate because the few guides that do exist of the build don't use it
most recent one is 13 months ago
read the tooltip
Can be interpreted in 2 ways imo. Either it works on enemies while the player and enemies are inside smoke or while player is inside smoke but you hit enemies outside of smoke.
I'll level it up and try anyway ๐
it literally says while you are IN the smoke bomb
what is a good place to farm Reign of Winter?
the level 90 mono boss where it only comes from
is the Reen's Ire buff effect doubled if you dual wield it?
how do I switch item comparison to my 2nd ring?
i switch manually left ring <-> right ring then compare ๐
Does increased damage apply to damaging ailments from the source of that ailment?
i.e. if I have 20% increased spell damage, and a spell applys poison, does that increased spell damage also increase the damage from that poison-instance?
As long as the increase is 'general' then yes - i.e. not "with hits" "with melee" "with spells"
so "increased damage", "increased dot damage" and similar would work, but "increased spell damage" does not even if it's a spell that is doing the poisoning
So, in your example, no - but "Bone Curse deals 30% Increased Damage" would cause ailments applied by bone curse to do more damage.
Increased Damage over Time also works on ailments that deal damage over time (all of the damaging ones, as of now)
Its a boss drop in age of winter (heorot)
No, but it adds to the chance
So "increased spell damage" would not increase the damage from a poison inflicted by marrow shards, because the poison isn't a spell.
Correct.
But intelligence would increase the poison damage because marrow shards scales with intelligence without a qualifier
Correct
Cool, thanks!
Best of luck, and happy hunting!
That does make the lich passive bonus kinda pointless with poison then, but i'll manage ๐
Aye - but ailments deal a considerable amount of damage as-is. And they can still get more damage scaling from low-life with other skills like Death Seal.
plus low life with steps and exsanguinatus gives a strong for of permanent ward recovery to sustain the self-poison from aura of decay....and there will be a bunch of general dot/necrotic scaling because some of the nodes that scale poison also scale necrotic at the same time so it still does something for e.g. spirit plague
Well no
you cant run ward with death seal
and lich without death seal is really bad
you need absolutely insane gear to make up for it
You need insane gear to match Lich with Death Seal - compared to my VK or Bear, Lich without it is fine.
Lich with it is just nuts, however.
lich without it is pretty underpowered tho
you can make up the defenses lost but good luck making up the damage
should really be a node in death seal that is like "no longer gives damage reduction, no longer removes ward"
at least opens up some options
Does Soul Maw's "increased health leech" interact with Hollow Liches leech to damage conversion?
Meaning, say, I have 10% of damage leeched as life with 5 points in Soul Maw, so 50% increased health leech, and also Hollow Lich.
Is it 10% * 1.5 * 10 = 150% increased damage, or does the "increased health leech" not apply before the leech-to-damage conversion?
it works with poison
pretty sure anyways- it's skills tagged with <spell> or <melee> have <increased damage>
despite the somewhat ambiguous wording
it does not apply to the conversion
Is it possible to Eternity Cache Woven Flesh anymore? It looks like, based on the database, that Gladiator Armour doesn't drop anymore.
gladiator armor as a craftable base can't drop
woven flesh still drops
most all-class unique chests are on a unique-only base
So what's the point of Forging Potential on Woven Flesh?
you can make a legendary with any type of exalted chest
you don't need match base type
Ah, so the answer is I'm a dumbass ๐
only item type
Great grea -- but for Weapons do you need to match base type?
haven't played with bows at all yet, does the Bow Damage affix work on DoTs?
"increased bow damage" does not work for dots unless that dot is also bow damage
like Hail of Arrows
probably not worth using on a bleed build then, gotcha
can i summon minion with an item to gain it's buff then swap to another
like summoning minions with sinathia's dying breath then switch to lethal concentration and gain it both buffs
You wonโt gain the stats of the second item
Only the items worn when you summon the minion
Unless itโs something like the buff proc on lethal concentration
That would work
But the normal stats on it wonโt
can someone explain that poison ailment part
Your โincreased damageโ โincreased damage over timeโ and โincreased poison damageโ stats will apply to your minions
But they wonโt get โchance to poison on hitโ or โincreased effectiveness of poisonโ
!multiplayer
Multiplayer's still in development. Here's the latest news: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
does abyssal echos proc future strike cause its doing damage?
Ailments can only be applied by skills that hit. DoTs don't hit so can't apply other ailments, though the initial cast of Abyssal Echoes ('cause it applies the Abyssal Decay ailment) might be considered a hit and thus might apply Future Strike.
Anyone else have performance issues??
This guy is refunding cuz he said he's playing on medium settings with a 3060 and getting 28fps
He's blaming unity and he said he's gonna block me when all I offered was to just ask the devs themselves in this discord
The game is very cpu heavy from what I have understood
Oh you are talking about Maru
Really I am shock he wants to block you, he seemed like a nice lad..........
Anyway performances issues are a thing, a lot of optimisations are coming in 0.9
All I said was the game is not done yet and performance is the last thing they want to do
Surprised u know him? He visits here?
That's what I'm doing, but was hoping there was a better way.
Not yet, but it's been noted and asked for numerous time so I imagine it'll arrive eventually.
if you were to combine frontloaded & focal blast on lightning blast, what happens? does the chain penalty apply all at once or does none of it apply because of focal?
Positing the question again now if anyone has any insight to it.
Does the Unique drop rate blessing increase the overall chance of all unique drops from bosses as well, or is it just the chance for a unique to drop in general from normal mobs?
is there any kind of way to get better specific implicits or is it literally just keep killing things and hope
rare affixes or just use-viable pieces for your build?
either way best to keep scythin' those wheat fields we call monoliths yeah basically
Oh nice!
Cool, thanks! I was hoping so because I've been trying to get Apathy's Maw to drop and didn't know if it'd affect bosses that guaranteed drop uniques.
yeah regarding that axe especially someone told me to get the twohand blessing as well, but i wasnt gonna put that much effort at the time ๐
it also has a corruption minimum to drop apparently. Idk if it's the only unique to behave that way though
right i forgot if it was 150 or 200
Yeah I just pulled the blessing so Iโm crossing my fingers that Iโll actually get one lol
feels kinda arbitrary considering it's hard to not have 50+ corruption
I wish you luck. May you be blessed with at least a 2LP Apathy
I guess it's so you don't immediately find one at level 40 ๐
I thought the belt was 125 minimum, did they up it?
Not sure, I'm recalling it off the top of my head on that one
Fair doโs
I know for a fact the axe is only 50 though. It just hates me and never drops LP.
Imagine getting the items you want, could not be me
I get the items and then never get the LegAffixes I want to actually connect
gonna play a Solo char for the first time tomorrow because I can't stand looking at my tab of failed legendaries anymore
looks at bricked legendaries
sobs
and to round it out, I have five 1LP maws but somehow no exalted axes I want to merge with them >_>
t6 flat void where
I have 3 axes with max roll T7 flat crit. No LP Maw.
we need to swap again
For real dude lmao
like just minion damage
hi guys, where is the new update? I've been waiting for a long time but still its not come out
Is "Spark Nova" proccing the "Lightning Nova", using the Elemental Nova skill tree??
I kind of think no, but not sure if that's a name error because they both have the same skill icon.
Thx.
no, spark nova =/= elemental nova
Thanks!
icon is meaningless and should not be used as a basis for judgment
unless specified any skills granted within a skill or passive tree are their own thing
it can get a little confusing but the skill database is very helpful
guys, how do you target farm things? i was thinking of getting https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/items/UAzBMYTiA for my bleed build but not sure how to approach it
As it says there, you can farm Reign of Dragons timeline
It helps limit the drop pool quite a bit
if you're having trouble finding many Unique or Set xyz echoes, prioritize rushing to the edge of the web where they'll be very common, then work your way around (or repeat if you're working on corruption as well)
is it worth to keep pushing a monolith to find all the timeline nodes for the quest?
As an example, the first mono - even though I'm quite over leveled for it now.
You don't find the nodes, you click them on the side.
Oh. Right. My bad, I've been awake under an hour and it is 5AM
Complete the three level 90 monoliths and then go click the big crystal in the platform they all connect to in the middle
awesome, thank you!
No problem
since smelters wrath is (technically) a melee skill does this convert melee attack speed only?
so just ran any map from there and pray it drops since its "common drop"?
Go for the unique or set item nodes
you have to run the node that says Unique or Set Axe Mace or Polearm
but with how common it is for me, you'll probably see it pretty fast
Helloo, does anybody know save location?

what is the maximum level of skills? I keep seeing some with lvl 25 others only 20 on lastepochtools
hmm okay. So it has to have +1 to Summon skeleton for example?
Yes
what does +2 to Fire Minion skills imply then? Can that increase the max skill level, or does that apply to the minions internal skills which we cannot see?
It gives +2 levels to minion skills where the minion has the fire tag (eg, Flame Wraiths, Pyromancer Skellie Mages)
ahhh okay.. that makes a lot more sense now on how this video guide is achieving so many extra levels on his skele mages and wraiths
aside from all the other recommendations
you can also try a rune of ascendance
https://lastepoch.tunklab.com/ascsim
thx for help, guys โฅ
How does leech work with dots? When are new instances of leech created? Each tick or does it depend on how often a dot deals damage? Afaik there are differences between dots
Each instance of damage is a new source of leech. Things like ailments tick twice a second iirc, and something like internal shade is 3ish times per second
But how does that work if leech gives hp over 3 seconds and an ailment ticks twice per second? Wouldn't that give multiple leech instances per damage instance
No?
One bleed produces multiple instances of damage
each of those instances should also produce one instance of leech
that's how I assume it works but devs haven't confirmed if there is anything special with leech and dots due to their weird hidden tick rate stuff.
Why does one bleed produce multiple damage instances? Now I'm confused
Because it ticks
A single instance can also tick
one bleed also displays more than one damage number
each tick is an instance of damage
that's what is ticking
bleed is an ailment that applies an instance of damage x times per second
Would make more sense to me if it's only one instance that deals damage x times per second
I don't see how that makes sense but pretty sure we're debating terms right now
so it's kinda meaningless
call it whatever you wanna call it. The "deals damage" part is what produces an instance of leech
and that instance lasts 3 seconds
Ye I think I got it, thx
afaik the only unknown thing here is what the actual tick rates are. devs have said that ailments usually have a higher tick rate than the numbers are displayed
so there is a question on if the leech instances are made when numbers display or when the dot actually ticks
I'm playing cold dot werebear and for some reason my maul doesn't proc the giant aoe wave sometimes. is there a reason why this is happening? other times I can constantly chain it every time maul comes off cd
It can be because your rage is too low, and since you can't pay the cost it won't trigger entangling roots
oh. that might be why then. never paid attention to my rage. does it say how much it costs somewhere?
Iirc the entangling roots is bugged and "costs" twice as much rage as it should. As in it wont actually consume twice as much but if you have below that bugged amount it just wont cast it
Or something similar, dont remember the exact details
Its the mana cost of entangling
does the bug make the build unplayable? I'm lv61 and it's my 1st time playing the game. i've died a few times cuz things don't die and i can't cast
do you have Garden of Rage from Spriggan Form plus Eterra's Path or Rampant Growth node in Entangling Roots ?
that's pretty much how you sustain rage
Do monolith modifiers affect the bosses in quest echos too?
yeah i have that maxed. i'm at 1/5 on invigoration in the bear tree
is it this?
Those are the modifiers, I'm asking if those apply to the quest echo bosses too
they do
OK thanks
should I be filling the bar before portaling out?
If you want to yes, otherwise no.
is this decent?
warpath ignite time? lel
Random question, are you the author of Filtration?
For melee ignite build, even with 4LP it is nowhere near as good as Bardiche...
ofc not but it looks so cool
I was sad to drop it during leveling because whacking stuff with a torch is awesome
@burnt sky Unless the modifier says "rare enemies" then they won't 'cause bosses aren't rare enemies.
Yeah I am ๐ Been a long time since it was updated now though
Just started browsing the Mage skills. Anyone try something like Convergence Lightning Blast, with stacking chain, maybe crit, shock + shred, and possibly even Spark Charge? For single target DPS.
Absolutely not, its still fantastic
feelsbad
that's basically the meta way to build LB, minus final spark
you generally get spark charges just from the sorc tree tho
makes sense. always think I'm on to something new, but it's usually the meta
I'm too late to the party
No, too late would be discovering it after it has been nerfed XD
Going to look through all the mage stuff, but when I get to a higher level to really be able to test some things out.
For now, what's a fast(est?) leveling method for Mage?
I have to imagine there's a speed boy variant of the Mage, using Static
- Teleport.
possibly it's even melee, with +Surge.
I've only looked at those skills so far, but I think there's some potential here for speed
proccing static with the discharge node in surge ignores the mana cost added by static's power surge node
which may or may not be intended but makes for a pretty neat build where you just surge around to clear
I'm not aware of a way for it to have great single target though
the build as a whole
because surge was amazing on single target before they doubled its damage
It's got more multipliers than the rest of spellblade combined
that's kind of why i want to level up the mage before really deciding. cuz I cant use static yet. Do I cast it and then it starts scaling up stacks over time, for example.
and how quickly.
movement charging is slow
if you want passive charge generation you need the idols too
Makes things like surge build up more relevant
that build with static can't really deal damage with surge though, it's basically a spell damage build
you could probs set up a hybrid of sorts
possibly
just figure out the bare minimum investment to clear with static
but you burn so much of the surge tree on the static points
not really
the version I tried was using spark charges from various sources as its single target
just as a general clearing + movement. but agian, without being able to use the skill. i dont know how fast they build up charges. so it'll be a puzzle, which is the fun part
it was doable but not a ton of damage
Yeah so that node is 50% more damage per point
I'd possibly be doing something like this as single target.
Like I would take the more damage per charge node even if I wasn't using static
scale up the max static. (maybe do something else), surge + detonate the static every 4 seconds. cycle permanent haste
I actually numlocked static with cd reset when full charges
Depending on static build speed:
Certainly probably likely.
i think there's some potential here
Basically I ran static as a way to be immune to all damage in packs
gotta put some time into leveling and theorycrafing tho. so far i'm only level 9 and looked at like only these 3 skills. lol.
you gain charges when you get hit, can get ward per charge on activate
and you just auto activate it
Independent of the build idea I mention above. This could have some potential
it kinda doesn't
maybe back when lightning blast was a functioning skill for map clear
but it's a single target exclusive skill now
that makes sense. that was just a back pocket something to explore
hey, was wondering if anyone knew of a good guide to gearing. I've just got to like level 90 and wanted to do a big reshuffle of my gear, and just remembered this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98H3Ncv7QAs - where he says he doesnt like the physical resist on chestpiece, i think because chestpiece can get some fixes which rings cant, so puts the phys resist on the ring. Was wondering if there was like some guide to what stuff's good where with some explanations out there really?

Yes that video is like.... first thing to do when making planner
throw stuff in those gear slots and put the important affixes on. Everything else comes after that
and never take those affixes off unless your build literally implodes without some specific thing that overlaps
Where if possible, can I possibly get access to the muliplayer beta
apply for it using the application in the multiplayer beta posts
Guess I'll just wait for it
That's a thousand percent false
LB is actually going to be my first build when multiplayer is live
I'll probably just be a basic loser and run something DoT for an easy start
Your build doesn't make you a loser, nobody cares. Play what's fun for you.
I like poking fun at myself :P
I mean you dont use lb for clear in lb builds...
its a fantastic single target skill but you are gonna be there all week if you want to clear packs with it
The setup being mentioned above is the autocast build with static which iirc was used with a clear specced lightning blast to walk through monos.
there isnt much merit to autocasting it for a single target
I do
Well more power to you then
is leveling in LE considered up to lvl 100 when you unlocked empowered monos or does it imply the point where you usually beat lagon?
?? Not 100% sure I'm answering that correctly, but: Empowered Monos are level 100 - but you usually unlock them much earlier (my record is ~65 solo, but usually ~75); you can run them as soon as you unlock them, but there is a gear-check when you first start.
I'd say once you are in reign of dragons that is the endgame
85 and 90 stuff is still a pretty significant spike relative to earlier monos
the 3 90s timelines basically are there so you can get your gear in order for empowered
hmm ok.. so when a build says take xyz skill for leveling, they mean up to reign of dragons? I swapped my skills over from the "leveling" ones after killing lagon, and its been fine.
ah
yeah that's up in the air
so like, some skills only come online with a specific number of skill points
but if that is the case then a guide should say so
maybe your build needs 20 skill points in some spell to work, maybe it only needs 6 points to work.
that's where my confusion has been.. some of these guides days "leveling" but refer to it interchangably as the campaign.. lol
if it needs 20 then you use something else until then
leveling imo = what you do before your build has all of its core mechanics in place
I haven't found any build guide that's gone into that level of detail.. they just splash up their lvl 100 thing distribution of points and say "there ya go"
T_T
interesting... I can see what you mean by up in the air then
oof
I try to put as much detail as I can shove in 20 minutes ๐ Idk how I could do even more without it becoming actual handholding.
These all have written descriptions and thought processes in there - usually with enough detail that you don't have to muddle through.
That being said, muddling through is the best part in this game - it's so easy to try everything for a while and figure out what works and what doesn't - and there are still those deep-dive learning moments where you realize you can learn so much more about what you didn't think was important.
^
We know you do pretty good Dr3adful
I have watched a few of your vids dread, but as I'm really new to the game, I always thought your builds were designed for late game people with a lot of resources behind them.
Even on builds I've experimented with for months I'll still sometimes just say screw it and totally respec my main skill to try something else
omg he rebranded right before my very eyes
I'm sure a lot of it also comes down to experience too.. I've only had the game a week so still learning what everything means and how the game works really.
Seriously though, a lot of my builds are easily achievable through just a bit of grinding. Its very hard to find a build that can't be played in solo mode.
If something I do is very not newb friendly, I try to make sure people know, like the Surge Spellblade. That is def not newb friendly ๐
I think I had a bad experience with one build on LE tools.. I later realised why I was struggling on that character, the build was designed in patch 8.1 so probably wasn't viable anymore
This all said, if you're brand new then the best thing to do is experiment
I forgot to change it here when I changed the other day. People don't like it when your making non - LE content when your waiting for a patch
if something doesn't make sense ask someone
but yeah just have fun. Thats my #1 rule
See I've wanted to do this, but after played POE for a bit, I've been worried about making a mistake and ruining the build and having to throw the character out
respec is free
My bladedancer has had like 93 different builds on the same character so far
Don't think of my videos as guides. Think of them as just educational. Use them, don't. Learn a thing or two. I try to shove as much info as possible so you can learn the stuff on your own but also not be stumbling around in the dark.
I know that now... actually, dread (and others) seeing as you're here... what are some good principles to keep in mind for trying to put a build together? How do I even approach trying to put something together and making it work?
Step 1: find a cool mechanic
Sadly that comes with time and experience. I will be honest with you, I have hundreds of ideas but almost none of them work. Or if they do they require a lot of refining until they do work. Its a lot of put point here, pull point out there.
I have significantly more failed ideas than ideas that actually have worked. Its astronomical the difference. Failing happens all the time
I spent up to level 65 speccing into a particular druid build, then decided I wasn't having much fun with the result so I made it a cold dot werebear instead. respeccing passives + skills + grabbing basic gear + leveling skills up a bit took me all of ten minutes
the sky's the limit with respeccing
Really though first thing is to learn about the mechanics in the game you can use.
Just as an example, take this item. Think about what classes might synergise with it.
what build are you personally the saddest about that it didn't end up working (well)?
yeah, all the uniques and set items is what seems like the biggest challenge atm... throwing skills and points together is fine, but knowledge of what items to pair all that with.. I think will just take me time
then you decide on a class or 2 and you look at the potential issues you will have. For that item, the issue you worry about is that flat hp regen is a suffix and suffixes are important for defense.
Volcanus Warpath Paladin
alternatively say "fuck it we ball" and run shattered + last bear set and have 2k hp with 800 regen
Dr3ad, what's your twitch now ? ๐

so if my 2 classes were spellblade and druid for good synergy (spellblade has lots of cold options, druid has lots of hp regen) I would probs go druid because druid has a lot of defenses built in to help compensate for any issues I have while still getting my regen
Dr3adful
and from there you kinda just play around. What skills do melee damage?
๐ค
wrong one
you could fairly easily land on a cold swipe werebear setup just kinda following the steps looking at an item.
I pm'd you mine @lunar holly
but yeah so basically what I do to learn about items is type shit in the search bar.
for this I would type in "health regen" into search bar on item db and see what comes up.
you find like, call of the tundra and health regen while transformed idols on primalist and that basically is the majority of your build decided
just use the searchbar and follow the thread
thansk for the tips.. I'll keep it in mind when I feel brave enough to make my own build ๐
you don't have to run the build, just reading stuff and seeing what fits together can be just as fun
how will you know its viable without play testing it though?
experience
but like
again above example, maybe the idea is in the back of your head.
you will learn if its viable or not by just slamming your head into a wall until it does or does not
sadly there is no PoB, so you just throw yourself at it ๐
and you're playing a different build and you drop a +4 warcry lp2 call of the tundra from the boss. Now you have an item that might help you
alright thanks again for the help guys. I'll keep with this build guide until unlocking empowered at least, then I'll try throwing something together
dont be afraid to ask as well
there are plenty of people who have made all the mistakes your about too, so it will save you time

many thanks! this community has been so helpful already
any new info on multiplayer? been waiting to play the game anymore since about February, gettin itchy for it!
!multiplayer
Multiplayer's still in development. Here's the latest news: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
so then september I guess?
no, its noctember
How could it be September?
Back to the Future part 6
september was the last time we heard anything about multiplayer
I could use some help here guys
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/KBgRpLrQ
How can I fit more life/ward buffer into this build? I'd like as much ward as possible, but I'd also accept more life too. Don't mind the crit avoidance, it's what I was tinkering with before i stopped for work
last time we had a news post, but the weekly dev streams always have multiplayer questions. If people want whatever info is coming from those there are transcriptions on the forums, recap videos on yt, etc.
use fewer uniques, basically
don't put resists on chest
use a resist base amulet
get resist blessings
your helmet, chest, belt, boots, and gloves are all missing the core increased health suffixes
@brittle atlas what'd be the best way to turn those slots into ward then?
i've never really built a ward heavy character
if you want to be fully ward focused, then items that generate ward or give ward retention.
things like Twisted Heart, Exsanguinous, Last Steps of the Living, Frostbite Shackles, Strand of Souls, etc.
Vessel of Strife
there are different ways to build into ward depending on how exactly you want to get there and what your build is mostly likely to be good at
but imo, for spellblade, you're best off being more hybrid
building decent life pool and then having some incidental ward via passives, flame ward
alright ty ty
Does dmg taking in mana instead of hp work with ward?
no
Are increased dmg and increased ailment effectiveness multiplicative or additive?
they multiply
20% bleed effect + 20% bleed effect = 40% bleed effect. direct 1.4x damage multiplier for bleed.
And how would affect 20% increased phys dmg?
The sum of all relevant % increased modifiers multiplies the bleed damage.
So it depends how much % increased phys/DoT you have
i have a question about julra's obsession
if i have one with 4lp
does all 8 affixes apply to minions ?
I must have phrased my question poorly
Or there is some I don't understand about multiplicative and additive
if i add minion damage in the crafted outcome , is it doubled then ?
Sources of increased damage is added together then their total is used as a damage multiplier. The same is true for ailment effect
So if youโre at 100% increased physical damage, and you gain an extra instance of 20%, you would be at 120% damage
no, because your minions having minion damage does nothing
you're better off putting rarer or harder to get stats on the gloves or things both you and your minions can benefit from
like cast speed in the fire wraiths build, for example
or perhaps crit chance, depending on the minion
so you free up chest/idol affixes for something else
or armor shred chance
got you
Has it been said anywhere what exactly will be in the first open release of LE multiplayer? I tried searching, but found no statements from devs.
All Companions are Minions. Not all Minions are Companions.
so artor's legacy increase max skeletons number ?
companions are a specific subset of minions- only wolves, crows, bear, scorpion, sabertooth, raptor, spriggan are companions
Companions are notably different in the fact that they do not die when their hp reaches 0, but instead go down and can be revived by standing nearby

Just to be sure, I can be a bit slow sometimes. If I have 20% Inc bleed effect and 100%increased phys dmg it give me 120% Inc dmg right?
It will give you 100% inc damage and 20% effect. Effect is a separate multiplier
