Pretty hard to tell without knowing the filter. In general its a good idea to generate a filter with the build planner on lastepochtools. it shows many items but that way you can upgrade gradually. If you have your solid items already or are looking for the right bases its good to switch to an endgame filter. thats often when you hit empowered monoliths. it will show far less items but you will get faster through echoes as you don't need to look at items often

well a rare with 4 mods you need could be better than an exalted with only 1 mod you need so there is that
I just have some highlight rules for shatters (basically based on rarity of the shards and the tier on the item). I also do show specifically rares on good bases with high total tier of all affixes >13 to >17 depending on strictness.
it depends on how good your gear is I'd say. but if you are at the min/maxing exalted gear stage you're likely able to adjust the filter yourself

Hey! A quick question, Volka's Razor the Spellblade passive is supposed to increase elemental damage for melee attacks that cost more than 10 mana.
I am using Flame Reave, which costs 36 Mana for me and I have not converted it's damage type, however the passive does not seem to affect it
The tooltip is not changing, but I know the tooltip is not perfect, also hitting the training dummy does not show any difference in damage

I ran into a bug with my loot filter where it gets all wonky(kind of hard to explain over text). has anyone else run into something similar?
"wonky" well, thats a first... Lootfilters can get corrupted and not do what they are supposed to and sometimes people create messed up filters that dont work as they intend (not really a bug).

All of my loot filters looks like this so I dont think its a problem with how they are set up. They were all working fine before today
That most definitely looks like a corruption. I would delete the filter file from the filter folder while the game isnt running and then recreate it in-game. I would also suggest verifying your game files if you are using Steam, just to make sure your install is ok.

I wanted to make a tri-element nova build and it really relies on putting up ailments. Fortunately, you just need one so for now I'll devote a point here and a mod there to generate ailments by other means
I am wondering about the dragon mage mod, though. I'm hoping that mod is active and working well with nova. I think so, because the passives that grant ward on lightning and fire cast are clearly operating
Do timeline bosses have better chances of dropping their rare uniques on empowered?
I am specifically going for Flayer's Pride, which is theoretically available on normal.

it's level 58 base timeline and flayer's is 65, so you can technically get it to drop I guess? I don't believe it changes the drop rate beyond that, but it would still be a bad move to go for it in non-empowered unless you're really desperate. you'll be able to grind for it faster in empowered, and you'll get way better other drops along the way

Hello! Time to ask for help. Its my first time playing this game, so I have no clue how to find Apathy s Maw. I am Void Knight Warpath or something like this and I struggle a lot at level 66. My tooltip DPS its 4600 or something like that. I am following a Build Planner aswell. I reached on last epoch wiki how to find that guy who drops the axe buut I need 50 corruption. Somehow, for me doesnt exist. I only have quests, stability and areas to discover. This game is beautiful but its too hard somehow. 🤯 thank u boys!
corruption is what you get from doing the shade of orobyss to reset the web (same boss that drops the axe). but the main way you get corruption is from getting to empowered timelines, which are level 100 versions of all the timelines that you can access once you beat the normal versions of each level 90 timeline
it would be easier to try and get an apathy's by doing that than trying to get one now by raising corruption on a normal timeline
for that reason, and also because apathy's is still not that common a drop once you meet the corruption requirement for it to drop, it's probably best for you to try and plan around using a decent rare/exalted weapon for now

If a modifier doesn't explicitly say that it is multiplicative with other modifiers, does that mean that it's additive, or are all modifiers multiplicative and some just don't have it in their description?
Not all modifiers are multiplicative for sure. I am trying to think of one that doesn't say multiplicative but is multiplicative. Nothing so far.
There are of course some situations that help multiplicatively due to nature. For example increases to "damage taken" is multiplicative with increases to damage itself.

Here is an example. Both are perdcentage damage increases, but one says multiplicative, the other doesn't. Actually, while looking for stuff to screenshot, I noticed that a) skill specializaitons seem to have the multiplicative note, while passives seem to not have them and b) that there is the same more/increased wording as in Path of Exile, so it may be the same system here.
Devouring blade is a global modifier hence it's a % increased (additive) while Overwhelm is specific to the skill so it's a % more (multiplicative) modifier.
So skill specific mods are always multiplicative and everything else is always additive?

Oh, that depends on whether you want to freeze or not. Generally only builds that have a very high freeze multiplier (like the frostbite build) will consider it. Then use enemies with different health valuess as a reference to estimate your chances of freezing them, and if those chances are good enough for you after per chill is added in, then use it
This requires you to be aware of the freeze chance formula and the health values of your preset enemy types
It can also take the points from multi-point nodes that don't invalidate the tree.
Question: Sonic Detonation stacks Frailty up to 3 times. Frailty lasts 4 seconds. Can I get it to stack to 12 seconds? Or is it only the damage reduction that stacks (6% less damage per stack)?
The reduction is what stacks, and its capped at 3 stacks total (18%)

can someone explain to me, why my minions go into the negative poison damage after equipping this amulet? i was prepared for some damage-loss, but this much???

It's 90% less. It's like an inverted more multiplier. It's a massive hit. Afaik that amulet is actually used in something that converts poison chance into something else.
I can't tell you why it goes negative, that part I'm unsure of, but I can tell you that "some" damage loss is understating it by a lot

Rather than best, how would you compare forge guard and necro? I am having fun with FG but it feels like necro gets vastly more support for minions from gear and tree.
MA is probs the most well rounded minion build
if you want raw power I dont think anything comes close to abom
the thing with FG is that minions inherit stats from your gear

I originally picked FG because they seemed to be the most passive build to play that could start at level 1. Warpath + minions basically means I can play without any hand pain (not to go into detail, disability basically prevents me from playing anything involving a lot of "work" so to speak, especially lots of button pressing). I was starting to lean more towards necro since I think you can go all 5 skills as minions...so basically only walking around and you get a minion skill right away. But the FG is tankier which means I can make more mistakes...and I make a lot of them due to slow reaction time. I'm just not sure which I will be able to go farther with and it's frustrating me.

every time you hit MA with a shield throw the MA does a spin attack
(there is a node for this)
necro stuff is pretty balanced around having Dread Shade up, which is at least some maintenance since it only lasts 20-ish seconds and needs to target a minion
and thats the crux of how MA scales its damage generally
beastmaster is the third minion class
My FG was using MA and the weapons, then just having smite auto-cast from warpath. Only button I really had to press was sigil every 25s or so. Obviously I was not using it optimally. Does the BM have an even more passive style than the other two?

Necro can go 4 minion I think? skeleton, mage, golem, perma-wraith...not sure if they have a 5th perma minion. I didnt see a way to do it for beast master unless you can keep increasing max companion somehow. FG I knew had fewer minions but they just sorta keep popping out while other skills auto-casted but it doesnt sound like FG is very good without skill spam?
I haven't really played minions so I might be wrong but don't you still need to dodge stuff with a minion build? If that is the case, VK Warpath might be more passive than minions. I can do whole monoliths/bosses with just holding down right click and moving mouse around.

Yeah I don't really know minions but with my Warpath all I am doing is dodging skills by moving around. Sometimes I play while drinking tea with tea in my one hand 😅

I made it up as I go, it is pretty straightforward but there are builds using Apathy's Maw, that would be end goal. I don't have Apathy's Maw or 2 of the other uniques but can still do empowered monos just fine.
You won't be able to sustain mana infinitely until Warpath levels up a bit but that is fine, you can walk around a bit and then spin again 😅 I didn't need a mana recovery skill at all while levelling.
There is also a -3 mana cost relic that drops pretty early on.
Also Warpath echoes are pretty useful for cheesing bosses (shhh don't tell devs) so if you wanna go even more chill, that is an option too. Don't always need to be close to the boss.

If the description of a node in the skill tree does not have "hit" (e.g. Rip Blood deals more damage rather than deals more hit damage), the ailments applied by that skill will also be affected by this more bonus

Based on numerous discussions and comments I don't think you'll ever get a truly brain dead build in LE.
It's not something the devs seem to be trying to emulate or create
Nearly every good 'passive' build requires some continual interaction.
So just keep that in mind.
I'm not so much needing a brain dead build, but the closer I can get to a 1 button build the better for my ability to actually play the game 😛 hence forgeguard was my first thought...its basically just warpath and sigil every 25s. necro could work, 4 pets and that one buff skill every 20s or so. I'm sure there are a few builds like that, but I very much need a passive playstyle (or as close as I can get) or I simply cant play the game. I'm not a fan of 100% afk builds either, I need at least SOMETHING to do lol

autobomber clears faster and kills more mobs while clearing, but warpath deals higher damage to bosses assuming equivalent gear (though still not amazing damage) and is easier to play vs bosses (both are easy for clearing). I would say autobomber is stronger overall though.
Does using a rune of removal on an exalted item risk removing the exaulted mod?
Yes, it can remove the exalted mod

So I played this for around 50 hours after the PoE league fell apart, and I'm actually redownloading now to give it another shot tomorrow morning. Majasa absolutely RUINED me and I couldn't find a way aside from respecing my character to get around the fight.
I was playing cold conversion lightning blast glacier caster, all the usual caster defenses and utilities. Do I just need to max out my build more, (Higher resistances, armor/barrier, etc.) or should I change strategy? Any specific modifiers I should look out for?
For majasa you really just want phys resist and some armor if possible
I never really have had issues after I started getting 75% phys resist before the fight
Although, if your damage is lackign then you might still have the issue

Since you reach EOT at around level 20, you can go to monolith anytime, except that generally players choose to get all the passive points and idol slots first

for just warpathing i think void knight is just better
it's harder to mess up than in PoE but you can definitely still make some pretty suboptimal builds if you go completely blind. that said, it's pretty easy to fix your build. you can change skill specialisations at any time and there's catch up xp for underlevelled skills so getting them back up to a decent level is quick, and you can respec your passives pretty cheaply in town. the only thing you can't change is your mastery (subclass)

I would say that to get an equivalent "clear speed" to LE in D3 you need to be REALLY high into Grifts where it starts taking a bit to kill mobs because this game doesn't have the big packs and zoomy move speed
The game is really good, I will recommend it to anyone who likes the genre, just be aware that it does not quite play like any others.

A lot of ARPGs have you wanting to get a sort of main skill and then things you proc off of it and buffs you keep like auras, or has things that are "passive" constantly. LE forces you into playing actively all the time. And it has a different build-style to it than any other ARPG I have played.

You can get semi passive buffs from most movement skills
and you are gonna be using those frequently enough to not worry about it
and there are a LOT of ways to set up complicated chains of procs off a single button
Aye - LE has plenty of that, but it's not mandatory. I feel like the game is most fun when I have 2-3 skills I use for every pack, and 1-2 that are either triggered or use-in-case-of-emergency type powers.
EHG has done a pretty good job with helping skills fall into one of those categories, with a few outliers for the people that like to roll their head on their keyboard all fight long.

My biggest gripe in this area is that the utility skills have these super annoying cast animations that tend to scale with random stuff you arent building
Like if I'm using shurikens defensively I'm never going to direct cast it because I'm not likely scaling tons of throwing attack speed.

Lets say I wanted to rework the blade shield node on shurikens for some reason. You gain 1 shuriken orbiting you per x seconds. Lose 1 on taking a hit, you get %armour per shuriken orbiting you. Activate to consume all of them and do (some cool ninja stuff here)

No sigils are a numlock skill that you cant numlock because it costs all your mana
because they don't want you playing it that way.
which is why it also has a couple of nodes that 'resummon' sigils based on certain parameters.

I do know the Devs have been pretty vocal about wanting LE not to be a game of auras and passive active skills. As I said, I think Aura of Decay and Holy Aura are about as close as we'll get to it.
How is "cast buff, get buff" gameplay? especially something that has 100% uptime
And on a side note, I DO wish Sigils would work a little more like Sweeping Wind in D3 and actually refresh the OLDEST 'cast.'

well, you know sigils kinds already does. It's not really that hard to keep 1 or 2 up. So that's your passive phase.

I think the biggest issue with sigils (or maintenance buffs in general) is 100% uptime. IMO a buff skill is a lot more interesting if its use is strategic

Devs have already said that they want people to interact with loot and make active decisions on picking it up or not - they have a lootfilter, but they dont want it filtering out absolutely everything especially not on FP or LP so they dont want to add too much to it.... Imho, I would like this kind of feature to search through your stash tho - that would just be a QoL issue to me, and doesnt affect drop interaction.
yeah stash search needs some qol, there is no "this whole thing must be present" search either, like when you want to search with couple words to filter more. PoE has quotations for that.

You will have to kill Orobyss with 50 or more corruption in order to drop Apathy's Maw.

I would say just go empowered if you can, it'll make it considerably easier to pull off since you can't go under 100 corruption in them. But of course that is assuming you can survive and kill in them.

For the start you can make one off the planner, there is a function for that or look in the description of the video although that often there are only endgame filters which might only show certain bases which depending on your level might not be able to drop currently

Yes but it shows many items. In the L-Screen on the planner it's explained what the colors mean. It will help getting a build going but sooner or later you will want something more optimized

Just a thought nothing concrete. Tested and healing stacks, nothing else stacks. Basically no point of having more than 1. It doesn't even give passive Health Regen, just healing per second.

current characters are offline and will remain as offline characters. When the open multiplayer test starts you'll need to make online characters for it, which means starting fresh. I don't think we have full information on what will happen to those online characters.

Yeah the thing with endurance is it gets exponentially stronger
25% endurance means you get 33% of your threshold as extra EHP. 50% endurance means you get 100% of it as extra. 60% means you get 150%. Any over that would be quite broken 😅

Adaptive spell damage (and soon melee dmg) is a flat number that will be converted into any element of your skill and added to it
And bone curse is a curse 👍you cast on ennemy and you "consume" it when you hit said ennemy. If you are the one doing the hit the dmg is tripled

Ok. I saw somewhere on a forum someone said it just dealt a flat amount of damage every time an enemy was hit while under the curse. So they take the initial damage, then bonus hits afterwards.

So it does last for multiple hits during 8 secs
It does not deal dmg when your curse them but when you hit them

Just as the dps in the skill's tooltips automatically calculates the damage of the ailments that the skill is likely to apply.
The ailments applied by the skill/attack are considered part of the skill/attack's damage.
So the ailments are also affected by the bonuses for the "skill/attack" (e.g. some of more bonuses for skill itself in the skill tree)

So when I have 2 time rots, i see 100 damage ticks, 1 instance should be 45 damage.
I have 339 inc damage + void damage
Warpath has 80% more multiplier from skill
I also have 19 inc DoT damage
I also have 19% void penetration
That puts one instance at 441, two of them at roughly 900
This is definitely not ticking 9 times a second
So what am I missing here?
Just making sure we're all on the same page...for example, in general (0% inc), 1 stack poison will jump out at 6+6+6+6+6+6 (I assume they are even, although in reality most cases are not).
Using a third attack to apply 1 stack poison (100% inc) would jump out at 12+12+12+12+12+12 rather than 6+6+12+6+6+12

Don't think of instance as damage at all. It is one "copy" of it. There is one poison DoT. If the way LE calculates it is simply putting total damage over X seconds, then yeah
each poison does its damage seperately, but all poisons tick at the same time
and the total number is displayed

my understanding is that most dots tick faster than that and at different intervals, but damage numbers are collated twice a second
which most cases I don't think matters- but for something like poison it means that the shred is calculated in a more granular way than just looking at number of stacks every .5 seconds

When I'm leeching off infernal shade I notice very distinct spikes in the leech rate from each tick
I think what happens is they handle partial durations within the tick
so if a poison stack has 0.25 sec left then it is only that 0.25 sec of damage which is what prouduces a lot of the damage number variation
afaik that internal tick rate is the one shown in le tools
Either that or leech instances are only created at same interval as the numbers are displayed
may also be different for ailments vs skill dots
possible leech is handled similarly to dots?
ie instances are created and tracked separately from how they're displayed
such that visually leech appears more spikey
due to collation/rate limiting of how quickly it updates the UI
The leech itself isnt restoring in a spiky way, its the rate of restoration that seems a bit spiky

just to clarify what I mean by spiky though. I'm at full health and I have a dot I'm leeching from. I take a hit and lose a bunch of health. I'm then recovering at the rate of my health regen until the first damage number from the dot is displayed, then my health visually starts recovering faster because of presumably 1 leech instance being applies. Then next damage number happens and the rate increases again.
I havent frame counted it or anything, but the thing I'm leeching from is infernal shade which ticks 3 times per second and the leech rate at least visually increases in speed around 3 times per second.
regardless of it looking spiky it will always take 3 seconds (or less if leech rate) to hit the peak leech
is there a thorn barrier expert out there? Was wondering if the boosts to thorn barrier from ice spikes would apply to thorn barriers created by hazel root, they definitely work from the spriggan form tree, but it doesnt feel like they are from ice thorns.
Ice thorns thorn barrier is its own thing
Thorn shield is an ability in spriggan form and that is what is used by hazelroot and some druid passives

well the spinning elemental bit to start - they 1 shot me - and the few times i got past them the cold blasts 1 shot me - i aint even got to the void stage yet LOL
The beams are telegraphed really early so you can go in between them and run with them. The cold blast is also telegraphed. Might be easier to hit him once or twice at a time and play the fight slow if you have bad movement speed
Also helps to stand as close to him as possible so you have to move the least distance
so i died - did not respawn - my left over minions killed him and i got the blessing 🙂

I died in the fight, did not respawn - my minions killed him,, LOL so i got empowered unlocked - am managing black sun 100 just fine-- all my res over 75 - armour 600-- i can do all bosses but that dude was hectic

Direct cast is only when you have it on your bar and press it, if it procs from any other source (such as the one you linked), it is not a direct cast

Using a bow attack grants 5% increased attack speed. Can stack 5 times. All stacks fall off after if you have not used a bow attack recently.
50% increased damage while using a bow
+1 max Shadows
+15 melee physical damage
15% more dodge rating (multiplicative with other modifiers)

does doing the higher tier of dungeon increase the chances for the more common uniques from that boss?
so you numlock devouring orb and anomaly. in early monos everything dies already from the devouring orbs. then if something doesn't die you use abyssel echoes. the devouring orbs orbit you and shoot out abyssel orbs periodically. those procc the dmg of abyssal echoes which is then dealt instantly instead over time
also make sure your sigils are at max
against bosses you will want to spam abyssal echoes until your mana is empty and then volatile reversal to fill your mana again
any suggestions for a HC starter?
Rune of ascendance cannot give you items that are exclusively dropped from bosses (or fractured crown), and like deias said, a 2h sword will give you an eligible 2h unique or set sword

they give armour, dmg increase and flat void dmg. you get some while killing but its only 6% chance per kill and unless an echo has really good density you can't keep them up

Uniques from bosses have their drop rates influenced by rarity of your modifiers. Corruption raises your base amount of rarity, and also increases the amount of rarity you get from your mods. So yes, higher corruption = more rare boss uniques

You can buy 1-4 runes of shattering at the armour vendor every few minutes
Its good to save them for stuff you don't have much of, class specific mods, pen. some are rarer than others

Sorry, thinking of different thread. Characters are saved offline on your PC. We don't have any access to them. If you had steam cloud saves enabled, you should be able to access your steam cloud saves to restore older save files.

Which character has the most two handed skills?
All of them
Though Sentinel I think is the only one that has a skill that requires a 2-handed melee weapon (void cleave) & all bow skills are 2-handed by default.
Forge Guard and Primalist have some particular bonuses for certain 2H weapon types
to add to Llama's stuff.
some have bonuses for using two-handers in passives or on nodes in skill trees
like
Forge Guard and Void Knight and the base Sentinel tree.
I'm not sure about anything in the Primalist area as I don't play that much, i think they might.

Obvious ones. You dont have maxed Crit Avoidance - so a boss/rare critting you is likely to kill you.
Your defence is pretty low. Your health is about 500-1k low for a level 89, Your skills all focus on offense but have little defence - e.g. armour is low for a sentinel and you dont have any layers of damage mitigation, like no endurance. Your resistances are also overspec'd while channelling - you dont need more than 75% so these slots could be used for other things.
I come from Path so my initial thoughts are res over all, would running with 50-60 res and high armor/endurance+cap help with spikes?
Yeah, no need to go the PoE route re resistances. Armour is usually the easiest to build for Sentinels. Crit avoidance cap is a must. Endurance is incredibly powerful but it requires that you spec for it specifically - i.e. its sort of meh if you do it as an afterthought imho. Flat & increased health will also make a difference.
Tunks https://lastepoch.tunklab.com/ EHP calc can help you see how you will fare against different damage and what your effective health will be. Its a good way to see where to focus your effort vs what gives you be best bang for your buck defensively.

At the start respeccing is not exactly free as it costs gold and you don't have much but it's pretty cheap
Skill respec is basically free but you lose the level up to the minimum level
But if you're higher level skills get increased xp up to a certain level

For your minions check their scaling, not only minion dmg applies but also attributes

Unlocking empowered is generally the first kind of "endgame" goal for each character, as it makes farming specific items and such much faster/more efficient
Is it normal for the eternity cache to not work at all? I put in the correct items for dungeon level 1 (sub lvl 50 unique + 4 unsealed affix exalted item), hit seal, then it disappeared. I clicked back on the eternity cache again and it shows the interface but no item, nor the two items I put just, it's just an empty closed cache, no combined item came out. Is complete failure a potential outcome or did the game glitch?
