You dont, it will take 50 copies of +4 lightning blast to get those exact mods. You just get the important 4+ lightning blast mod and try to get 2 of the other ones

Early empowered should be fine without any unqiues, the spark base damage is quite high with a bit of flat spell which applies to the sparks before you get enigma. You could even use vilatria set directly as a placeholder if you drop it
Before enigma use staff or wand with high flat spell and preferably minus mana
Then focus int and increased damage etc. You won't make much progress on crit until you get flat crit and a bunch of int and increased / multi slams.
So you basically have to found an helmet with +LB skills and an open slot prefix to put the set affix on it
You need to shred the set item in a woven map to do it
Its kinda hard to get a good one, you have to be Lucky with rune of removal
Legends with dex int hybrid stack might be okay with fundamental criterion and vilatria set and mad ladle. Could even use morning frost boots for more flat per dex but that's awkward to build. With lightning you can get decent amount of lightning pen from runic invo affixes and such
The classic is the reowyn staff with hybrid stack though, maybe fit a T8 in there

Invoker and halvar both 3 item sets, you won't get completion without big sacrifices. The completion bonus from legends is really not good enough to sacrifice slots for alone, you still need to get something useful out of each slot

It's the +4% flat spell critical strike chance that you need them for
everything else is irrelevant
there's a woven echo called The Great Bridge where you can convert set items into Set Item Affix Shards. then use those shards on items (of the matching item type, e.g. helm=helm, 1Hsword=1Hsword) at the forge

you're gonna need them to hit 100% crit
your crit chance scales your flat crit chance. and that 4% is huge
^ You need 4% blood mage and 1000% total increased crit chance roughly.
You get 600%+ for free from the sorc crit per int node, a few other bits on various items, then a couple spell crit affixes and done.
Normal crit chance is really bad for spell builds, the affix rolls way lower
With the FC boosting it iirc I got a lot per second, ended up doing a surprising amount of damage

the tldr is
- get a vilatria helm to drop (set item)
- do the woven echo that lets you shatter set items
- find a helm on the base you want with a t7 + open prefix (or a t1-t2 you can seal)
- craft on the set affix
- try and havoc the t7 to the set affix (if you want the set affix to be t7)

Yeah pretty much. It's basically a pendulum item, the idea is you use cold spells for 10 seconds then fire spells for 10, repeat. There's some potential use case for doing big burst or something within the window but it isnt very popular.

I'm lvl 80 and I still haven't found mad alchemist ladle. Am I missing something here? my filter is set to show all unique items (even 0LP) and I made sure that it is in my top rule for build items, and I kill ever exiled mage that I see but I don't get them
I find it drops a lot more frequently as you're climbing corruption. Like im doing 1k corruption on my bear earthquake guy and they drop all the time

No. It's a woven echo that has 5 (or 6) different sections with 5 exiled mages each

It does work pretty well, I use it with mana guide and lb, basically flame rush casts both orb and plasma, it’s really funny

Yeah is always on but the strength of the brand is not always the same. You can apply a fat brand or a weak brand

Yes, it doesn't change the remaining damage that they would do (unless it specifically says it does), just makes them do the rest of their damage immediately

So I just made it to monoliths. I'm a runemaster following loaf/sentinels guide. I dropped an enigma and I chose cof. Is there an order of importance for uniques? Like if I wanted to target with a prophecy? Haven't made the swap to lb yet but prob will in the AM.

I tried a bunch of different combos tbh and cast speed is the hardest stat to replace. Fully optimized i think you end up with cast speed on wand and catalyst with the crit elsewhere
Cast speed also scales your ward since TH conversion
Enigma priority, then ladle, then legends / vilatria combo
Oh right and TH before legend's
Combo with a lot of spell damage since IB gives more cold. Maybe Frostbite build. The classic was Frost Claw

Its a unique that hasnt been updated since the old ward formula when people we generating tens of thousands of ward per second.
Someone tried it and made it work, but iirc from my own testing the gloves are currently bugged and giving pen to all elements, not just void

I removed the point from the lightning -> cold conversion from Lightning Blast and yet it is still tagged as cold damage. Despecced the skill, restarted the game, verified game files, nothing is fixing it.
thats one of the issues i was trying to figure out how to fix, i got +3 mana per enemy hit recovered on passive tree but other then that I'm not sure. was trying to find a way to not have to use mana strike but i may have to. and drop something

It might depend on the invocation? I don't think Reowyns does but you can definitely tell it's active and doing another overwrites it
Try the haste one and see if that gives buff
Flame Reave and Frost Claw are both mana hungry, that's why people usually use mana strike as a proc skill.
If you want to use both you probably end up spending a lot of your time just regenerating mana. You could do cooldown mana strike I guess

The purpose of the maxroll leveling guides seem to be get to level 70 as fast as possible, so you can start following the real build guides. Thats great for those that just want to skip to that part. I am more thinking about a guide for those that come asking for advice on how to play and they are in the level 20-30 range and just want to play the campaign and take it a bit slower. But maybe that group is small and most just enjoy exploring on their own. 🙂

Finally found a way to use meteor that doesn't suck for mana sustain and play - in theory...
So I would like to definitively know if mirror images damage increases with intelligence or not because there no answer I can find that says it shouldn't as it's listed with scaling with int. I have tested on dummies in the area and the damage seems to not scale and the tool tips say it only adds health per int, however posts by people indicate that the damage should go up. In my test the images fireball alway did 17 damage, at 0 and 99 int, so I say it doesn't scale, however I think it should, mages and images don't have any real minion options. Lasty what's the point of the elemental bees per second idol, why is it mage and attunmunt physical scaling melee damage?

Kind of does, you can sustain it for a while and the damage is not horrible. For most stuff it should work... maybe not long boss fights. Would have to regen with just glacier spam. But for burst damage single targets that are not bosses it is great.

Meteor damage is too low compared to mana cost. Other skills just outperforms. Like spamming long range glacier is more damage... even without crit

My understanding is you add 300 multi on top of your existing multi but I might be wrong since it kinda feels weak

Its a more dmg multi but if u take into account that it procs max 40℅ of the time then it really is weak if its only a 100℅ increase. However if its a +300℅ multi on top of your base 200 then it would be pretty nice. Effectively it would be a 120℅crit multi increase.
If combined with double dmg it would be juicy af

it’s on top of your base + any added crit multi. so if you had 100 crit multi added from passives/gear a deadly strike would have a total crit multi of 600% for example.

Im not sure. A lot of crit builds end up with like 500+ multi so at the opportunity cost of 40% extra overcap crit and the Primordial usage you get like 50% more damage 40% of the time, so like 20% more damage
Maybe some build that easily gets crit cap but doesn't have much room for multi could benefit?

as sorcerer, im using glacier(personally favourite) , metor, focus and right-click attack=distingate
i feel metor is underwhelming because slow cast (surface area improved after i spec-ed upsize area nodes) but it forced me to replenish mana with focus during long fights.
should I respec/ditch metor and use other skills instead?
You can play any way you want but these skills have pretty poor synergy. Meteor and Glacier often scaled with crit, generic/elemental/spell increased damage, cast speed, specific typed penetration / shred, etc.
Disintegrate usually scales with damage over time, elemental damage over time, sometimes crit chance, different element typing
Basically they don't really support each other or work together.
Usually you have 1 primary damage skill and 4 utilities or triggers, occasionally 1 AoE and 1 single target but usually not.
Is there any planner for a Lightning Blast run 2k echo? I only played Spellblade for a short time, completely new to this class
There's quite a few planners depending on how you want to play. LB is popular this season so you get a choice
2K can be a bit sketchy though if you aren't using a tankier variant
I see some planners using crafted sets, which is another new area for me... I've never tried this feature before
Yup Legends Entwined is the meta for LB now. You just shatter set pieces in the bridge echo then craft it onto an exalt as normal

Yeah this is a pretty unorthodox way to play mage. Basically just mana dump into recharge. It'll oneshot almost anything Uberroth just needs some help

Mage has a lot of variety here. It has several options for ward scaling like low life support with reactive ward, or Twisted Heart, or mana spent gained as ward, or just ward generation and threshold. Or hybrid build, or just a bunch of DR and armor etc

So... anyone else noticing that all indirect fireball casts (even ones that draw from your skill tree) are not adding extra projectiles?
The fireball shrine, fireball node for Frost Wall, and Wildfire Embers neclace have all been shooting out singular fireballs even though my regular casts have five in sequence\
Wildfire Embers recasts are bugged to not use most (possibly all/any) skill trees. Not sure what's up with the other things mentioned

Flamereave scales the flat spell from vilatria into melee. You could also potentially do something with Cleaver / Polarus for lols. Strength runemaster with 1 flat spell damage per strength and giga armor lol. Maybe go Frost Claw with some of the new hybrid melee/spell stuff and get giga crit chance which scales ward generation for FC and glamdring to convert the melee back to spell. Or just do a classic melee into spell proc with mana strike, dragoraths build should be buffed now with the spark nova changes if you build into that I guess.

yeah best is to imprint 1 open affix helmet (base counts so pref. the good base) with a T7 mod and big forging potential
try chaos/redemption to fix the wrong affix(es), pray it doesnt eat all ur FP and u hit the ones you need like max hp
then you slam T1 set affix, seal
slam T1 lightning blast then havoc to T7
finish helmet with refinement
gotta fix the other affixes too 😂

when you imprint everything counts, so imprinting correct base + 1 or more correct affixes helps

For COF, what is the best way to farm rune of havoc?
there's no singular best way but rather the combination of everything you can do. Generic rune prophecies, all of the weaver tree rune related nodes (20% more rune drops and rare mobs are permanently enraged and drop more runes/glyphs), rift beast rune evolution stages, Uber aberroth, maybe spending your money at lightless arbor

I can't get my mage to survive - tried everything, I changed to necro - which is effectively playing story mode.
Also - mage loot is rare, every second item I get (playing mage or necro) is a necro minion piece.

Hey, is Rune Powercore and Consolidator nodes in the Runic Invocation skill tree bugged? Spamming Runebolt (it's ice tag removed via it's skill tree) to change the combinations of Runes does not actually generate additional stacks of Runic Energy or lower the cool down of Runic Invocation. But once I cast a single ice skill and go back to spamming Runebolt, then I start generating additional stacks of Runic Energy and I see the cool down of Runic Invocation shorten.
At first I thought I was horribly misunderstanding the skill nodes. But it doesn't make sense to me.

Are all different combinations of runes so this should be triggering the skill nodes.

how important is the chance to apply spark charge on fragment of enigma? i just got a 3 lp one but its only 10. idk if its worth holding it for another one to try to get to 12 or trying o replace the 2 lp 12 i have
Prob depends more on what you get on the LP
It really depends on the build and how much spark chance you already have. With LB and full spark nova nodes you already have base 80% per LB hit. With 12% you would have 84% so 5% more spark charges, probably like 4% more damage ish
If you can get double prefix on 2LP with 12% it's probably better than 3LP with 10

Basically, 2lp can easily take him down. You just need to get killed by him enough times to learn how to dodge, or check out Frozensentinal's channel on YouTube, where he has a video guiding you with tips

hey yall, been starting with a runemaster and idk why but i cant seem to reliably generate CFC runes like guides say to generate with lightning blast and idk why that's the case but it does and ive been using the idol that keeps a rune combo, but after transfering frost wall dmg to fire it now just generates FFC and thus the only ice spell i have in my arsenal is glacier, but even after unequipping the idol it still just gives me FFC no matter how i use my skills

Depending on what your build needs
Generally crit multi, you get a lot of spell crit by all the int you're stacking anyway
If you've got flat crit from another like the gloves, that can be enough to get you pretty far
Flame Reave "deals up to 50% less damage to distant enemies." Does this affect ignites applied by it? what about "% more (multiplicative) damage with flame reave" from the skill tree?
Yes to both. The only things that won't affect ignite applied to it will be things that specity hit damage

Crit multi and crit chance only apply to crit builds (damage over time doesn’t have crit). If you’re building for spells, choosing increased spell crit will be more beneficial than the affix increased crit chance (global). If you’ve already reached 100% crit chance from other sources, then increasing crit chance becomes useless, and you should opt for other choices

correct, more (or increased) melee damage does not apply to ailments inflicted by melee attacks unless specified (like in volka’s razor). ember infusion would not increase the damage of ignites
So im going for a ignite flame reave build so i worry about crit for reave or just stack ele dot and dot to the moon? Also would wildfire embers ammy or the new frenzy primordial helm be better?
ele dot, wildfire is generally pretty trash probably frenzy helm or even t8 ele dot is highest dmg, mask or blossom are also great tank options

hi guys, for the lightning blast runemaster why is the scholars legend entwined so good for the build? even with 2 sets completed doesnt it just give +2 skills, +10 all rest and +10 attributes?

Legend Entwined is necessary for the build.
Without that ring, you have to use the Vilatria staff to complete the set that gives you +1 lightning damage per 2 intelligence. That means you can't use the Fragment of the Enigma in your offhand, OR the Mad Alchemist's Ladle in your mainhand, which are the things that make the build super strong.
So while the +skills and attributes and stuff are nice, the fact that it completes the set there is actually the biggest value.

It does a base damage value, and that's modified by increases to fire damage and such. Each stack does that damage over it's lifetime
It's not like POE where it's calculated based off of the hit

gday, a legends entwined with 16 Int would help get your damage up a bit on uber, also your resistances need a lil work

Base fire damage (I assume you mean spell or melee damage) has no effect on ignite.
The 865 ignite damage is including all of your increases to fire and dot damage and stuff, so each time you apply an ignite, it will do 865 over its duration.
Application speed is very important to dot builds, so things that hit a lot will apply lots of ignites. 400% ignite chance means every hit will apply 4 ignite stacks

Ignite has a base damage of I think 40 over its duration, so multiply that by the 3333% increase ( 40 * 34.33) to get your base damage for each ignite stack.
However it can be misleading because you also can scale ignite with fire penetration (penetration is effectively a "more" multiplier) and duration increases increase the the total damage an ignite will do.
so i would do 865 * 34.33 for the base damage per ignite?
And other More multipliers from the skill that applies the ignite also apply to ignites it apploes. Any multiplier on a skill tree that doesnt specify "hit" damage will also apply to dots
And you may have other conditional modifiers that the planner might not be showing.

The ignite duration gives More damage based on the duration as well. So if it lasts 4 seconds and does 1373 damage, but has 25% increased duration, it will actually last 5 seconds and do 1726 damage

You also have to account for bonuses from the applying skill. Things like Ignite chance, More damage, increased duration, etc from the skill you apply it with wont be listed in the planner.

Yeah, I remember last season, any source of extra chains wasn't cut in half, so the belt was offering a full extra 4 chains

I leveled with the Mage leveling guide to 70. I already had found the spoon and off-hand. I switched to the lightning blast build, and instantly felt awful. Do I just need to plow through until I get a little better gear? Am I just failing to understand how to play? Shatterstrike was so easy, and suddenly it takes forever to kill stuff. how much int you have - I just leveled fresh solo character found from 1 to Aberroth the last couple days also went into LB @ about 70 (no ladle until around lvl 84) and it was destroying everything, had around 80 int when transitioning to LB

well, the bones of building around any invocation are mostly the same
you take fundamental criterion and stack the attribute that corresponds
for grand prism nova you probably at least want to consider the offhand with a bunch of text relating to grand prism nova
I'm playing around grand prism nova and noticed it has insane AoE, with a little of investment in either points or area of effect affix it can hit the whole screen or more than that

I don't know if this is known but Lightning blast converted to cold via passive node doesn't convert it to cold but if you're a runemaster you get the cold rune.
It does convert the subskill correctly though

you get so much flat damage anyways that generally the defense cost of running mourningfrost is not worth it especially with how naturally squishy spellblade is, it’s good for aspirational setups or zhp but in most cases foot of the mountain or blood of the exile are just better

Equippable can be meteors from belt, lightning blast on hit from the sword, Volcanus sword etc but triggered skills from your melee skill tree should apply, like surge

i’ve done uber with shatter on zhp and a (relatively) tanky setup and i found the tankier setup to be much easier

Mana recovery and +2 LB chains. If you do: 3x LB > SO > Repeat, you basically stay at full mana (assuming SO cost is capped)

Well, you'd definitely build a bit differently. You don't need cold converts with Sorc, because you don't have RI
so Im at 400 corr with this build doing frostbite and been noticing the damage has been erratic, the bug is when you hit a loading screen it reverts it back to lightning... you have to hover on it an press alt for it to go back to cold
happens with both passive tree node and the node in LB skill tree

yea it's quite a bit, LB self chains 4 or 5 times, it has 30% extra casts or so from autocast, then spark nova basically duplicates every LB hit, and enigma has base 12%

It's an amulet with 3xt7, the affixes I needed were health and avoid, but I missed them

After swapping the amulet, I dealt damage very quickly, reducing this guy's health to 20%, and that was also when I completely ran out of mana 😂
The only way to build according to this planner is by cheating in offline mode

Basically, you're mixing two unrelated builds. If you use a dagger with auto-call LB, it might work somewhat, though not very well

The beauty of LE is that you can try it out and see how you like it. The one thing that people pointed out the most is that you have Lightning Blast AND Frost Claw, which are both spammable spells. You don't want multiple of those usually.
Also, using 3-4 LP items on all your slots makes it a little hard to understand what you're going for as far as build priority. The reason people usually use 1-2LP items in their planners is it gives people looking at it an idea of what their most important stats are.

It's not difficult when you already have a certain amount of items; LB is very strong with Spark Nova, but not as OP as other builds

I don't know if it has any issues or has been fixed, but LB damage only accounts for about 14% of the total damage I deal
well for starters it used to literally not work for about 4 years until patch 1.2, but in 1.2 it didn't inherit most of the bonuses from LB tree including spark charges

Yeah, they all use Rune Invocation or even Runebolt, and I don’t like how that works. It’s like when I played ES VK, everyone was using Orb and Healing Hands, but I used Void Cleave instead
They did fix it, Frozen was saying that it applies a spark nova on EVERY hit instead of just first hit, maybe specifically with convergence

Balance isn't perfect by any means and it's very difficult if not unreasonable or impossible to keep builds within a "reasonable" margin of each other whatever reasonable would even look like to you. There are a lot of unknowns even for the Devs going into a patch. They give us tools and they have a rough idea what people might do with those but they can't know everything people might do.

the only point of the lp system is to have different uniques at different chances to get some, otherwise they could just always allow to slap that many affixes on every unqiue

I’ve only been playing Mage for 4 days, bro, my filter is super endgame, pretty much only I can use it... As for farming tips, just focus on Imprint and Nemesis Tower. There are plenty of guides on this. You can check out Frozensentinal’s YouTube channel; he shares them along with loot filters for builds

It does, though you'd get higher rolls with Lightning damage. Obviously getting both that and Int on a ring is tough though, so it's a plenty good slam.
With Lightning Blast bild: how much +% lightning / spell dmg should i aim for, before going all in on crit dmg?

Hey since ur stacking int, the stat gives u both flat through uniques and % increase through "normal" scaling
That is the main reason the build scales so hard

this sounds like a bad plan for an already bad/mediocre skill but it should still be dual element
since you'll be converting each of its halves to its opposite
