Shade gets hard around 2k for mages
1900 was where my mage maxed out basically, but with the static orb nerfs I wouldn't be able to kill a shade so I dont think I'd be doing that again in v1.2
The item drops at 4k corruption are so substantially better than they are at 1k corruption, then it is absolutely not about bragging rights. I wanted better gear and the higher experience is still noticeable if you can clear monos relatively quickly
There’s also a reason to pass 1k … I’ve noticed one boss that drops 3 gloves at 1500 corruption compared to 1-2 gloves at 1k or lower
Not sure why but he does
more like, other mana regen options on mage are ass
tbh the state of mana strike and focus is downright shameful
no fixes ofc
ugh im so confused on what i want me make for season 2
I've always thought Wisdom should be 1 flat mana regen per 100 mana
Well Focus is getting a new unique that could be good and Glacier is getting a helmet that could be good
all depends on what clear speed your build is capable of, there definitely is a benefit if you don't lose clear speed but soft caps and clear speed most builds it's better to stick at 1k, in my experience
someone helps me on a strong mage build for season 2 lol
making focus good for mana regen in my book looks very different from EHG's idea of it
I would play it by ear and after a few weeks you’ll see strong ones posted and change if you like . No need to ask for help now and most will try to figure out what to do as they go
it's all a balancing act depending on your build and obviously every build will be different
thanks King
having a channeled skill with a cooldown is enough of a drawback, no need to make us channel it for ages
Yes, obviously your speed + damage + survivability matter at higher corruption, but my point is that it's certainly not about bragging rights. Whenever I would take newbies into 3k-4k corruption monos they would always be like, "holy shit this loot is insane" and that was the whole point of the higher corruption. It was even more noticeable while I was in CoF, the extra CoF perks just make T7 exalted items drop like 10+ times a mono
should just refill your mana to full over a fixed duration like 3 or 4 sec
and have a utility-focused tree
Also there are new items and upgrades .. some mages will be much stronger than others with the gear they upgrade compared to the same mage with lesser upgrades
i have a lvl 60 but really havnt had much time to look at all the gear and whats new
What faction is everyone going with to start
totally, to clarify it's not only about bragging rights or personal challenge, just most builds won't be able to clear fast enough above 1k to make the return worth it is moreso what i meant. especially when you consider how much time most people invest into a build
cof ofc as I hate the mg playstyle
cant be bothered with price checking items and building a filter based on gold value
Tbh I’ve never played mg but I envy those who buy lp3-4 items I need
cof is the fraction to do?
cof and mg are "loot factions" while knights and weaver are more like, mechanics/content factions
So the weavers faction is new ? So it’s now 3 factions or you can choose weavers faction alone with cof ?
I always recommend people start out in MG, if even for the initial learning experience of being in the faction while lots of players are playing. I think with the new features CoF will be much more powerful in v1.2, so eventually I'll go to CoF and level up there, but i strongly prefer playing MG. I prefer playing the game knowing that the items I find are actually going to be used by other human beings. MG is for the social people I guess.
there is no reason why both should be called similarly when they have very different functions but alas the devs find nothing confusing about it
You can be in the weaver's faction, the only two factions that are exclusive to one another is the Merchants + Circle of Fortune.
lol i still have so much to learn. i am use to d2/d3 and d4
"Endgame factions" vs "Trade factions"
I'd put it as, COF will not be much more powerful but its glaring weaknesses, like being extremely prone to shit RNG when getting even basic items, will be significantly mitigated
Ok maybe the name confused me , thought for a second there are 3 factions now and you choose one
Yea, it's definitely confusing
so CoF then MG?
I think the biggest bonus in v1.2 for CoF and Merchants guild is no more failed slams. This will help me more in CoF actually as you can just re-buy in merchants guild.
you pick one of the two and mostly stick with it
Is everyone starting HC hero and if dies go cycle
aww okay
yea no more failed slams is more impactful for COF than MG but it's mostly a speed up/feels good fix, not a raw power level one
I don't touch Hardcore, I think it's incredibly stupid and there are still lots of bugs and mysterious deaths in this game.
I have a lvl 91 hc hero I just deleted since new season about to start . Wasn’t bad to play just slower and more careful
do you think Hydra would be a good thing?
It's definitely going to be increasing the power level for everyone, now 1 LP unique items are actually very useful, so you don't need to grind as much in either faction.
Well it’s good we can get t7 int slams on rings now .. I failed many slams last season
There are still reproducable bugs that can kill you though, I used to have multiple videos of Shade's poison spit not showing up at all and killing you (the 2nd time Shade does poison vomit attack I would get no visual effect for it), also Shade's blood orbs, same thing. The elemental novas from Osterix bird angel things had absolutely no visual indicator either, and characters like the burrowing snake lady could kill me from atleast half a screen away. I just don't see the appeal of playing Hardcore at all
Yep, I've had 4 1 LP red rings in 2,600 hours of playing this game and all 4 of them have failed.
it doesnt need to get to reproductible bugs, get a random 1-2 seconds lag and that's it
Hoping this season to get a nice lp3 ring
hey guys thanks for all your help i have to log off. looking forward to tomorrow for season 2
gl ever and have a good day
tbh hardcore is a pretty dumb idea in LE at this point, and in the genre in general if you ask me
same problem as hardcore PVP mmos; the higher punishment for death just leads you to avoiding fun
Yep, it didn't make sense to me in D2 and it still makes no sense to me now. I would rather have a game mode where you lose an item when you die or something like that.
Yeah I won’t be starting with a HC … just normal is fine at the end of the day
I’m curious about static orb . Wonder if you have 2000 mana and can cast it 20+ times … I wonder with the right setup and skills you can just clear monos spamming static orb when you want
Yeah, it's gonna be a lot better at being a "generally useful" spell
If you can get like 300k static orb dmg it could be possible
It's just less of an instant kill boss damage
I’m definitely going to try and do something with static orb
always could, spam static orb builds used to be a thing back before power creep
like your average frostbite build used to run barrage for single target and orbiting orb for clear
then frost claw happened
Yeah I think this season will be months of trial and error
Hopefully they keep the season for at least 6 months
Don’t want a new cycle too quickly as I don’t play legacy
I even ran a meme build of static orb to build static charges for static via that node and it was fairly good.. for a meme build
didnt go too far up the corruption as I couldnt be bothered to play the old patch
I’ll make 2 hero this season . A mage and sentinel and get both to 100 and decide final mastery later with what items I have
How long now until patch .. 30 hrs maybe
18 as of now
how is mage looking for late game farming?
fairly decent although some of the most op builds were nerfed
oh dang then haha 😄
old charlie aint going anywhere
Charlie?
I assume shatter is still gonna be stronk
mage looks suspiciously like Charles Dance
I'm sure it's just a coincidence
hahahhaa legit
you going autobomber RM to start?
Charles Dance mixed with Oscar Isaac
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/BrdgXLNA
Any can give feedback on this lightning fireball/meteor build? I'm not sure I have the correct tree for meteor and wasn't sure if the mana gen would be enough to sustain the meteor belt (Any other issues you see would be welcome feedback)

Quick glance looks fine to me
You're gonna be really relying on that twisted heart to keep your ward up
so is there no hope for mage outside of that deception builds that need gear u wont even have for afew months
There are plenty of fine builds
IDK why people keep thinking there are zero viable mage builds
There are a few new uniques that will enable new builds. Mana Guide might be totally crazy
guys i need a lightning blast build, i think the new passives and rework looks cute and i want to try it
is mana guide new?
yeah
I don't want to recommend my LB build to anyone because I'm not sure it's going to be good, heh
Does Glamdring on FC care if it's typed melee damage? Like, does it add generic spell damage to FC if I have "+5 melee damage" somewhere, or does it need to be melee fire damage, melee void damage, etc
Starter or nah
I'm starting it, yeah
are there any good theory crafters who might have labbed this? I know my way around poe streamers not so much on this game
Yeah, if it's +lightning melee damage, fc gets lightning melee damage. Untyped gets converted to whatever FC is
Me. BUT the build has been bugged for like 3 years and the bug is finally fixed so I'm playing it again. But IDK how it will hold up against the higher tier harbingers and/or aberroth
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/B7Zv4LmQ I make no apologies, this is the perfect LB build, new meta, gonna get hotfix nerfed, etc. You have to make sure to include the non-synergistic LL legendaries that I threw in 'cause I'm gonna figure it out in game and the 220% potion health converted to ward 😉

oh oops, thats actually the wrong version, imagine there's a semi-competently built frost wall tree in there instead of mana strike
the mana strike is "break glass in case of OOM emergency"
lol
If you want to look at my "Infinite LB Channel" build: ~https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/oPpZkngo
feel like that build will be fine until like 200-300 corruption
We'll see how it goes. If it drops off, I have a couple backups that'll be easy enough to swap to
Last time it was playable, corruption scaling was totally different, so 🤷♀️
And like I said, don't want to recommend it to anyone until I play it again
Does it count as "passing through my frost wall" if i place it on top of myself?
I think you have to move to trigger it
sorry if its overasked but is stygian coal lich still good for new patch? did it get hit at all with nerfs
Should probably ask in the #💀┃acolyte chat
Hmm, i see
I was thinking of using the 60% mana cost reduction for invocation passive to make frey's slightly less mana hungry
But that sounds like it wouldn't work? Especially if id try to spam
Does the Frozen Sparks node on the Enchant Weapon tree interact with Glamdring for FC in a meaningful way
Or is Frozen Sparks still bugged and worthless
Worthless. It only triggers off physical damage, which weapons don't have any more unless you have a specific affix that adds flat physical damage
which you obviously don't want because you're a mage that doesn't have physical damage scaling
That's so tragic, why would they not fix that lol
It's an artifact from when weapon implicits were all phys damage by default
Probably just low priority tbh
It seems like a really easy fix
It would be very impactful for my specific build, adding ~9 flat spell damage to FC for me
That's not very much, unless you aren't getting very much flat damage from other sources.
Actually it's technically +18? +9 cold, +9 lightning.
Essence Weaver, which has 94
Ahh yeah
It's a free point for me, I'd just take one out of +5 cold melee damage
yeah
I mostly wish Glamdring inherited melee flat damage from the skill that triggered it. That way i could stack flat melee damage with mana using Mana Strike to get like 300 flat damage 😝
That would be absurd
I'm so excited to try this proc build, I'm gonna fill the screen with so much shit
Interestingly, I think you could do a build that works better with the buffed Battlemage's Endeavor. With a good roll and 4 aps, you're triggering 3 LB's per second, with no cap. And that's pretty easy to reach, so you might be able to get up to get up to 5-6 aps to trigger even more of them. And that's not counting the FCs that you'd be triggering as well
That's amusing.
75% chance to trigger LB with no cap is pretty legit
Yeah I didn't even consider that.
I was talking with someone about doing a Focal Blast version of LB with it, so you're shooting out cold beams super fast
And you just use mana strike to proc them
Essence Weaver is capped to 9 every 3 sec, but each spell is individually massively buffed by the stats on the spear
Yeah
Tripled stats are pretty insane
Plus you're presumably speccing frost claw for multiple hits, so what, 270 flat damage from Glamdring, plus 150 more from the weapon itself?
Gonna be bonkers
Yep
FC is SO much better than the other triggerable spells, it's nuts
But also, you're probably actually only getting 3 casts per 3 seconds, on average since it randoms amongst all of them
Sure, it's an average
So the triple stats just brings you up to "effectively" 9 casts of the spell you want, on average
Still, a max rolled essence weaver with no mods adds 492 flat damage to a proc of FC
lol
No weaver mods, I mean
yeah
Imagine T7 flat lightning damage + T7 crit multi
Needs very specific weaver rolls on the spear to maximize it, but it sounds fun.
Yeah, always kind of rough to build around weaver gear
There's a bunch of rolls on it that are all fine, and a bunch of dead rolls
tripled T7 armor shred? Each of the spells having a 1920% armor shred chance lol
Tag a boss once and remove all of his armor
yes
I think you mean each of the spells having 1920% frostbite chance
Spear can't roll frostbite chance, but can roll ignite chance
Runemaster only, sadly
Negative, it's before the chain
Yeah but you can put 10 points in it if you want
the node just needs to be before the chain
That's.. really amusing, actually. If I ever come across an essence weaver that rolls a fat armor shred chance I could try that
Yeah, it would be pretty insane actually
The spear itself has up to 194% just on the item lol
Yeah, even without the tripling, the frostbite chance from it would be pretty significant
A single proc of FC with a T7 armor shred roll and that node would add 105 frostbite stacks to an enemy, ignoring all other gear and passives
That's.. kind of disgusting, actually
Tragically, though, that only works for FC. It only adds the frostbite chance to cold spells, of which smite and storm bolt are not
Yeah, but that's all you really care about, with all the extra hits from FC and all the FC casts you'll be proccing just off the melee attacks
Would still be worth it, probably.
Assuming you're at the 3aps "cap" for weaver, which is obviously low, you're gonna be proccing regular FC 1.5x per second in addition to the weaver procs
And that just gets better the faster you attack
Yeah 3 APS is a low bar. It's very possible with mana strike to get up to ~5, but 4ish is more realistic
yeah
I was doing a bit of quick math with battlemage's earlier, if you get T7 attack speed on a 2H weapon, it's basically 3aps with no other attack speed.
I am actually considering Falcon Fists if I find a well-rolled 2LP one. Ignoring the other stats, 27% attack speed and 27 flat fire is a lot.
Yeah, falcon fists is BIS for any melee attacker that might want crits
Also pretty low level so it's possible to get a 3LP one
Yeah
Level as glacier into spell blade shattered strike and respec when we get mana guide? Or how do you plan on leveling
I am working on a video update for leveling
Of course you are. You the mvp
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2434722938 here is a VOD I just recorded
of a leveling setup
I’ll check it tomorrow before launch. Will video be uploaded and watchable prior to launch?
trying
I don’t think it makes sense pre 65ish. I’m going to wait until at least 70 to have the ward gen from armor
Or really exactly 70 provided I have guide/cleaver solution. If the latter is taking a while I might just try int stack with it first before swapping
I need to get all my shit done so I can get all sweaty at launch
brand feels pretty good on my level ~58 character
but yeah you can delay
Yeah for RM brand that vid was looking real nice
I have 2 meetings scheduled tomorrow at 9:30 and 10:00 😢
I've never seen anyone beat 1000 corruption with as a core skill
The general idea here is very good and a super fun build, but Harbinger of Stars almost requires you to have 900 mana, which you can quite easily get as a sorcerer, just start with 5/5 points in the Mana Pool passive and prefably all 4 of your idols being "Stronghold" for the 8-12% mana on them. Also you'll find these items with more than 2 LP quite often, maschinations and Harbinger of Stars are easy to find at 3 LP, so you'll get more affixes on here. I always recommend a Confluence of Fate when you're able to equip it, because it'll add a large amount of flat spell damage to each of your fireball and meteor hits. Also if you're going for a Lightning focused build, I think Stormcarved Testament is probably going to be better for you than Twisted Heart simply for the +12% lightning penetration.
I've certainly completed a few monos with volcanic orb but I was using it in addition to Glacier and Meteor and it was more suited for like 1,500 corruption. But I believe someone just posted a video of like 850 corruption volcanic orb today in this channel or in the general chat. It's certainly been used close to 1k corruption but it's not a super amazing skill or anything. I would say it's okay amongst mage skills. I'll certainly give it another try in v1.2, along with all the other skills.
yo guys how bad will mage be? 😄 i dont see a lot of good builds for us 😦
in all videos i see no mage mentioned 😄
Have you made a filter for early levels? And then one for late game? Sorry if someone has allready asked you bro 🤣 I’m struggling to make/find one
Mage will be good!
it's on his latest video description
Ahh sweet thank you!
I'm a little curios cooking a sorc with damage dealt to mana before health and using something like mana strike to generate a lot of mana and using that as a defence. No clue how to scale it offensively though, anybody with tips or even a decent build planner for something similar?
Mage isn't the new hotness and some of the big flashy mage builds got nerfed. There are still plenty of builds that will be good and functional, but there are lots of other new shinies that people are excited for.
yeah thats what i thought..
Also a few builds didn't get nerfed that were some big flashy builds on other characters. Tornado werebear is super popular because a lot of people expected it to get the nerf bat but it arguably got buffed
I don't think anyone has pushed a mage build with that level of popularity lately, so not a lot of folks excited for mage stuff
yeah 😦
There are dozens of us league starting mage 😝
which build will you guys play?
i just saw a heartseeker video holy it looks so good 😄 but i play mage usually.. so i want to play mage again i guess
Some new/buffed uniques are looking super spicy for mage, too.
-Mana guide probably has 2-3 builds around it
-Battlemage's Endeavor got buffed and might be real strong
-Essence Weaver looks HELLA spicy
-Gordian Prism has a build that looks interesting
I'm personally planning to play a channeled, low-mana lightning blast build that got bugfixed and should be pretty strong. If it doesn't work like I want, I'll probably swap to a Gordian Prism + Ele Nova build
I also have a couple other silly concepts in the wings, mana stacking Mana Guide seems like it should be strong by default
you have a vid or somehting maybe to see the playstayle pls 🙂
The build guide is HELLA out of date, since the build has been bugged since before release, but: https://www.lastepochtools.com/build-guides/liaths-endless-lightning---infinite-lightning-blast-runemaster
There are a lot of new uniques and improvements to the build since then, my current (very rough) build planner is: ~https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/A8dXwWgA
I don't want to recommend the build to anyone until I play it myself, but it's pretty starter friendly. No uniques required to get going, comes online earlyish in the campaign, scales pretty decently, etc. I'm also not a real "content creator" though, so 🤷♀️
man why do they need to make gordian prism an offhand
if it was an amulet or something
reowyn + gordian would be interesting
Yeah, that's probably why they made it one, heh
It's low level though, so hopefully easy to get 2-3LP on
And, that paired with the buffed ele nova will probably be fun.
Big AOE kabooms
Speaking of runic invocation, is plasma orb runemaster still solid or has it gotten heavily nerfed since release?
I don't think it's seen significant nerfs
Thanks, haven't seen anyone speak about it and was unsure if it was due to it being worse nowadays or just that it hasn't changed and is a pain to gear since you NEED 2 red rings and dodge in most suffixes
Yeah, I think it's just fallen out of favor because Runemaster got nerfed in general
makes sense
liked the playstyle though so will definitely at least try it out
prob not op though, just decent
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's why people aren't as hyped about mage
A lot of builds that aren't op, but decent. People are looking for the new opness
100%
And there are known builds that are op that avoided nerfs
Snap has convinced me spellblade is looking good with a promised 100-150m dps but most mage players probably don't wanna play melee so I understand if that's not an option for most mages
Personally gonna try it out though, only spec I haven't tried yet
I think there are probably a few stupid good spellblade builds using things like Essence Weaver and the new Battlemages Endeavor
I'm kinda loosely considering a Battlemage's build, since it has no cap on lightning blasts per second
Max attack speed into Convergence Lightning Blast might be legit
hm, haven't seen that one, mind sending me a link to a planner 😅 Sounds interesting
I haven't actually put it together yet, gimme a couple mins
oh, thought it was a done build xD
Nah, prior to this patch, Battlemage's Endeavor sucked
But 75% chance to proc LB on hit is pretty good
careful with following a team player Spellblade build exactly
snap would have a different priority on ward/defenses/flat damage since he gets so much from his teammates
**something something surge spark charge spell blade. ** https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/Q92r7OXB

ohh yeah? shame. well good thing I had the back up plan with normal surge+flame reave then. wasn't as fun but still decent.
Yeah, Power Surge (200 flat damage on static) only works on direct casts now
is non melee/spellblade mage dead? seems to be like its going to be the least played class in 1.2
dead probably exaggerating but it doesnt look too good for someone who likes actual mage range gameplay xD
Hello, what are some good sources for flat health regen in vessel of strife builds?
Theres plenty of ranged mage builds still perfectly fine
Most only saw the ward nerfs and only a few were deleted due to spark charge change
essence weaver is very fun, but having to roll 500 essence weavers until I get a decent one is not
although it's been on my list of meme builds to try since the reveal
somewhere down at the bottom
of the flip side
Yeah, this is the problem for sure.
New Ring/Amulet affixes, the new idols
i'll check those out, thanks!
do you wanna bet whether or not I'll get a +5 disintegrate relic this cycle faster than I get butthurt and quit?
https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/search?query=Health regen&in_description=1&exact_match=0
searching for health regen on letools helps too, could give you ideas of other sources
I was thinking there's a health regen unique I might be missing, but stacking some regular affixes seems good
Well, you're going to either be using Shattered Lance or Vessel for your relic, so you can probably choose a T7 affix to prioritize on either of those
are you gonna try out the gordian prism build Zerax?
Here is a SUPER rough version of what I'm thinking: ~https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/AV26M5PA
Yep, Gordian prism is on my short list
ah cool! I might do one too later on
Crossing my fingers I can get one while leveling
heh, that'd be nice
I tested the aoe some time ago, just stacked some bonuses from idols and passives and it really is huge
Now I'm intrigued, what is the reason for all that mana stacking? Isn't the whole point to regen mana on-hit with mana strike?
15% current mana for flat damage as mana strike, 10% current mana as flat crit chance for mana strike. You keep yourself at 1000+ mana and you've got 100% crit chance. At that current level of mana in the planner, you're looking at +225 flat melee damage for mana strike, which should make it do decent damage by itself.
And you've got a BIT of damage to mana before health, so you need to keep up with your triggered spell costs and that defense, so mana strike is the obvious choice. I'm not a spellblade because the main things I lose from the last half of the spellblade tree are 8% attack speed and flat crit from prodigy, which I don't need for the most part.
No more multipliers on mana strike kills it for damage use.
Yeah, but enough flat damage makes it functional as a part of your spell triggering focus
mage players be like: EHG plox no more mana strike
EHG: no more for mana strike you say?
Plus, guaranteed crit means your opportunity cost for using it and scaling crit multi is zero
straight from the authors of, doing zero DPS with flame reave at 500 flat
Since you want crit multi for everything else you do anyway
No it doesnt. It could have 600 flat and wouldnt do damage
I'm not 100% sure it will be good, but it was something I was thinking about and putting together a planner is pretty quick (and I've got nothing else to do right now)
I wish you could play mana strike for damage by sacrifizing the Mana gain but the nodes are just not there
The other concept I had did the same thing but used Shattered Lance for a crazy amount of Increased damage, but Shattered Lance is a bit too much to try and force in on Mage IMO
and mana stacking + lance stacking with the same gear would be a nightmare to drop/roll, so that's definitely not on the "early season" list
Yeah this would be cool
ok frostwall+surge lightning blast procs seems like a fine pivot from static. complete automation with chain lightning and detonations.
The main concept of the battlemage build is a LB delivery system with as much attack speed as possible since there's no cap on the number of LB's it casts per second. It outpaces Dragorath's Claw at 4 aps as far as average LB's per second
It also has a SUPER low legendary potential effective level, so getting a 2-3LP one shouldn't be too bad.
The hard part about battlemages is that it somehow needs to be better than directly casting lightning blasts
Well, if you get down to it, you're simultaneously casting LB, FC, and Mana Strike (+ mana arc and maybe spark charges), so there's some bonus effeciveness because of all the triggers you're throwing out at once.
Sure you can get LB up to 3 casts per second, or higher. But can you ALSO get FC up to 2 casts per second at the same time?
Plus with all the crits you're throwing out with this build, you're probably proccing a BUNCH of spark novas using Distant Spark
that's not the hard part if you slot into a proc build where you aren't competing with just this specific proc vs just hardcasting
but those builds were heavily hit with the nerfs to ward rings
I doubt they will be particularly good anymore
That's another reason to go Sorcerer instead of spellblade. With a bit of "damage to mana before health" on top of a huge amount of ward threshold from Arcane Insight + Arcane Warden, and the normal Shattered Aegis, you should be tankier than a spellblade.
you can still stack plenty of that on sb, although getting a very high mana pool is going to be more of an issue
Yeah, Sorc has a lot of extra mana
but you don't really need it if you are spamming mana strike most of the time
you also get 20% damage to mana for "free" from sorc
we were discussing this a couple of days before and you can get like 55% damage to mana on SB without resorting to chest and helm affixes
10 points isn't very free
It also comes with 40 flat mana though, so it's points well spent
I'd like to find a way to scale LB or FC damage with mana somehow, but I don't think it exists
sorc class passive and gate staff
the forbidden tech
I play things that suck when they are fun
Staffs can't roll attack speed, so it's also not very fun (for this build at least)
ok Mage Mains. I need some guidance. Is the MaxRoll leveling guide fine to lvl with. And how gear intensive is the Hydrahedron Runemaster?
everything feels slow to lvl after playing sent haha
Most mages level with Glacier to my knowledge
I think as long as you have the Box of Hydrae, you can play hyrdahedron
Unless something changed in the patchnotes
Other than that, I don't think you require any specific uniques for it to be decent
You can also level with Fireball or Ele Nova, both work well in my experience.
yea its like dont do this at home kids
I mean that's most of our builds in a nutshell though
its like that time when somebody asked Mark Rosewater why there are so many shitty cards in MTG. And he said more or less "for new players to have a learning experience" (when they realize that they suck)
same but man there is a difference between fun suck and suck suck
like that time when I spent a week farming gear for my reowyns CCC invo build was the suck suck
cause it still did like zero dmage
I HATE this mentality. It's one of the things that bothers the crap out of me with POE. I much prefer LE's version of "everything should be good, just maybe not good for the build you're playing right now"
I also had that experience
LE isnt the worst but they have two problems, weird and nonsensical design decisions and lack of manpower to fix the balance for most of their skills that can largely be fixed just by mathematical tuning
come on there cant be two masochists in the world who tried that build
Yeah, but at least they dont want there to be bad things.
Having intentionally bad things as noob traps is terrible design
yea at least there is that
but waiting four years for the spark nova fix was rough man
I didnt do a week of farming but I spent a good amount of hours on that build
Yeah, definitely. I'm hoping that will be a thing of the past though, the team is growing and they're getting more resources that can do fixes and improvements
Hopefully in future seasons we wont need 10 pages of bug fixes in the patch notes.
I think its kinda important to have bad or out of place stuff. When everything is created with a build in mind there wont be room for creativity
I don't think those two statements are necessarily related
Out of place and bad are two totally different things in my mind
I feel like any unique is developed from a "wouldn't it be cool if" scenario, and from there when there is a huge amount of variability in the game, things can often be used for unintended purposes.
But none of that means something has to be inherently bad. It's the difference between "This is bad for what I'm doing" and "This has zero functional use anywhere"
Players, especially new players, can mess up their builds by doing non-optimal things without there being things that serve zero purpose other than to specifically trick them.
you can only target farm it from 100 timline... ooft. Hopefully COF is cracked lol. and i can farm it that way
lvl 36 random drop. Maybe ill get lucky haha
Gonna be my first league experience and cant wait to play a mage (I have no clue how mages work in this game but I always play them in ARPGs)
most normal arpg build considerations apply - don't spread too thin, focus on one skill/damage type, pack mobility and utility skills
Same lol been playing this game for years but never wanted to roll mage, gonna try it this time🍻
is the mages tree of "when you use a lightning spell cast X at nearby" a bait or is this stuff good
im on the line between playing some kind of mana stacker vs some kind ofprimalist
giga bait, its a bad subskill with very long cooldown
same for the fire and cold ones?
Anyone think they worked out a build for Uber aberoth for season 2
go disintegrate or go home
Are they any awesome Mage builds for this season? Seems Mage didnt get too much love or atleat not showing up on the top tier lists for today
Can spell blade be tanky?
used to be tanky af with the ward on hit rings, after the nerf its probably back to average tankiness
then again, all classes have builds that are "tanky", that's like the baseline assumption in this game
Probably mana guide stuff
I personally have not seen anything crazy predicted for mage. But it's a new patch who knows what will happen. All the other classes still have some insane OP bullshit, tho for mage it's not gauanteed just very theoretical.
"not gauanteed just very theoretical. "
haha. i think you watched the same vid i did 😛
What makes mana guide any good? To me it seems better to just manually cast lb and not have to deal with reduced speed & armor
focus got a ton of defensive nodes in it and you can stack more on top of that, like from channeling related nodes in RM
think of it as of ole ghostflame - mediocre damage at best, very high defenses, zoom zoom
also you can spec focus to deal some damage itself
casting lightning blast makes you stand still for a brief moment
focus makes you tankier and you can still move
yeah.. so bad 😦
Any cool runemaster build for s2?
anyone has a build for dex stacking frost claw ?
yeah pls.. i dont want to play meele mage 😄
How many times a second does brand of deception tick for
well seems noone had one so i made one
link pls want to compare
you want cool cool or good cool?
Good cool 😎
Glacier is pretty cool
Cool Cool
CCC invo baby! doesn't get cooler than that
ignite glyph
How is shatter blade for speed / Aoe clear?
There is a regular int based simple looking brand build which looks way easier to start once after campaign maybe lvl 70
Maybe I'll try that but doesn't look that great compared to other classes
spellblade get any buffs?
Depend of how many time you didn't play
i didn't make S1 and just some new sword are really good for him since i didn't play for exemple, but i don't know for this patch
I really like the playstyle of the "cascade" fireball sorcerer build on maxroll : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXCvU-j9Ows&t=1s but I'm a bit worried by the rankings/downsides. How much of a struggle is it going to be ? Is it perhaps worth as an alt with some gear carried over from a stronger main ? Can it still do Harbingers fine otherwise? Alternatively, are there any stronger builds that look similar (pew pew) ?
not sure why you call that cascade, that's just the regular fireball
it's a fine build, not uber broken or anything, but Im sure you'll be able to do anything with it at adequate gear levels
Does spellblade get as tanky as a Void Knight if you get to Exsang + Last steps of the living and T7 experimental on gloves? Idk how much ward people get from that nowadays at around 3-4k hp
Usually last steps + exang builds are extra tanky because their class has a "less damage taken while on low life", which mage doesn't have
True, we do get like 25% less damage taken from chilled + arcane shielding tho
but idk if that's comparable
Yeah, though we don't need low life tech to get those, and we have access to a lot of ward
I have a feeling the tankiest builds are going to be a ward + leech + a portion of damage taken to mana before health combo
All those together layers a lot of defense and recovery
Can you leech onto ward somehow?
Fireball is a super fun skill, but yea this guide is totally out of date right now. Just try out new things and you'll be fine, the fireball skill is a very fun leveling skill but it does max out in terms of damage fairly quickly, so I went with a Fireball + Meteor setup for more damage and then ultimately switched to glacier + meteor for even more damage.
Is that gon rune for more ward gen good. Gear affix
No, but if you take health damage, you'll leech it back while generating ward and regenerating mana, so you have recovery on all 3 angles of damage taken
Yeah, it's always been super strong
Nice
IF you're using gon runes
I see a brand build were he always has three
I've always been all lightning all the time, so it's been a staple for me since RM came out
And uses that affix
Yeah, with T7 on chest and helm and 3 gon runes, it's like 500 ward/sec.
Was thinking a Shatter strike build so damage onto mana sounds bad in this case bcs you already have mana issues, did you play any missing health to ward build recently?
or do you know how much ward the builds sit at
Not that one specifically, nope
We also don't know exactly because the ward nerf to int
And yeah I wouldn't pair it with shatter strike. The low life ward builds aren't bad for sure
Ah you cant use bloody nib with the exsang setup either i forgot 😭
hmm has anybody looked at fireball yet
hit fireball got a pretty huge buff
i didnt realized until i read about mage today
did shatter strike get any changes?
Not really
What's the buff? I just see channeled fireball working a bit better
flameburst now affected by nodes on FB tree
ala bunches of more damage node now
even before this change, flameburst has already contribute like 60% of DPS for hit fireball build
i thought they would change it more since noone really played it
I think it's popular enough
but yeah nothing cool, champion affixes arent real
guess scissor of atropos also is a slight buff to shatter strike on the high end since a well rolled one is better than a crystal sword
First build I will try https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/olGk9RnB
Tombs of the Erased / 1.2
Mage (20) / Sorcerer (25) / Spellblade (5) / Runemaster (63)
▸ Lightning / Spell, DoT
• Lightning Blast (20)
• Static Orb (20)
• Frost Wall (20)
• Teleport (20)
• Flame Ward (20)
Brand of Deception seems like it's going to be very popular this season
the djinn is out of the bottle
it was virtually unknown last season
but it got a bit of coverage
Yeah cause they nerfed the other good stuff now lol
Any decent loot filters kicking about
more cause a few youtubers released vids of it
ive been trying to figure out the maths here, its 400 DPS that only scales with increased damage, is that right? Or what else does it gets mores from?
does black hole tick rate scales with cast speed?
400 dam per 3 sec
not DPS
and it scales very hard off shock
and fundamental criterion
Everyone gonna be sentinel and hearseeker so that's good that mages get at least something. I wonder how behind it will be tho compared to like rogue probably still doing 2k corruption
Like other classes doing 10mill dps I doubt brand does this
no and also no for any other similar skill, and for channeling spells too
oo i see, so 6% more per 1% shock chance - that kinda seems the wrong way around to me lol XD, but that would be what i was missing to make it actually do damage
its also bugged and adds that per shock on the mob according to guys from ct
but why does it scale with fundamental? is it an invocation?
Shatter strike still seems strong no?
its an ailment which thus inherits the more modifiers of the skill it's applied with
see where this is going?
yes likely still the best sb build
Sb?
Sorry
spellblade
Aaaah that Way - also assume SB is the best “pathway” or ascendency what ever its called in LE
its "mastery" here
Thanks mate!
is that fixed yet or no?
no
But yeah I assume sb is looking to be the best mastery?
i always thought brand does way more damage than it should
I see, thank you for the advice ^.^
hard to say, probably not. But it's not particularly weak or anything
30m damage per ticks def does not check out the math
because it always had this bug
id missed that fact too, still think that shock chance has a big chance of getting switched round mid league XD
yes i tried it at 1.0 already
Oh shiiiit just going on macroll tier list lol.
What Can you then recomend as mage? Sorry for being snoying
and the damage didnt make sense back then
idk dude I'm a memelord, I dont play meta on mage
try like frost claw frostbite or something
must still be good right?
Ooooh thanks haha and Got ya 😂😂👍
That new store armor looks like it fits mage perfectly.
are the servers on ?
my plan for mage builds this season:
- disintegrate (x4)
- essence weaver proc sb
- channeled LB
- focal blast with spark nova
- lightning fireball
- ignite glyph
no
14 mins
also clotho's needle looks neat with firebrand/reave although reave is gonna have fu ck all base with it
I'm at work damn
do we have to do anything with steam to trigger the download?
You might have to restart it
will likely want to restart steam to force it
is the download live?
no
ah okay
Focal blast spark nova sounds really strong if spark nova scales properly
well it should inherit the more modifiers
its a subskill
so uh about 180 x 36 x 36 x 100
wait i didnt think subskills inherited unless it was called out?
no they should, but the game has so many bugs where they don't that doubt is understandable
They normally do unless bugged
It won't inherit Shattershock because of the "damage against X" doesn't inherit
conditional damage doesn't go to subskills
this adds x10,35 which is not great on a spell with 100 eff but not terrible
ah shit
DOA build then
sorry to kill your meme dreams
That's why shattershock is the last on my list for my channeled LB nodes
Focal blast sounds so strong on paper but it never delivered for me
still gonna be playable I guess but I felt that right in da wiener
cause it its bad for single target
convergence = 400% more vs single target
and with focal you dont have stellar options for a single target skill
Yeah, but a scalable 30% more multiplier sounds super strong at first
Don't forget that LB got 2 extra "Free" chains, so with all the chain node you have 10 instead of 8
at that point you can just focus on either of those instead
And there's the belt for a 35% chance for 4 extra chains
The only interesting thing was that focal blast made it aoe and you could abuse the runemaster aoe passive, but thats dead now aswell
I've always lamented that focal blast is behind the cold conversion. Lightning focal blast would be cool
yea so convergence is now 500% more
pepega
Yeah, the more chains you get, the more convergence pulls ahead
I wasnt keeping track, what did they do with that?
You only get the ward on direct casts now
How is Shatter Strike Spellblade?
although..
virtually untouched, should still be fine
Oh, I thought it got the procs per second treatment, my bad
Static can do some now
Lightning blast for single target + elemental nova for aoe. Using spark charges on both. Should still be pretty good
I mean it's still only 2 ward per rune per point instead of what was it 20?
always could but it should be better now
Yeah convergence lightning blast will stil be super strong
I think I had it outperforming frost claw at some point
The big question is why focal when there is convergence and the only answer is mana kinda
frost claw used to also give you free ward outta the ass
I think it'd be good in a proc build, shooting out cold lasers as you do other things
focal is more for aoe, it can be arguably better at clear than chains
but then what are you gonna use for single target in your build?
download up
noice the speed isnt even half bad with the vpn, though I might have to leave y'all
80mb/s leeeessgo
PLAYING ELON MUSK BUILD
so whos gonna play for ya?
IS that the one where you never get to town because you die?
his gear was too low level
im gonna use a lvl 30 amulet on my kickflip runemaster
My meetings start in half an hour 😢
rip mate but fortunately its 7 pm over here
not feeling well lads might be calling in sick tomorrow
folks on reddit already having the le cinquante cinq erreur
looks promising!
I can't even finish the download, it's just stuck at like 50%
I got in after 1 min clicking the button
how do so many people download it so fast? XD
This was to be expected tbh, the hype for this release was incredible because the latest PoE2 season flopped
no online play?
I wonder how many concurrent it's gonna hit, 150k?
but hopefully the falloff will be a lot less with the weavers mechanics
Good connection i gues?
I have a fantastic connection and mine still won't finish downloading
Yeah, I'm in no rush.
LE 52 all?
56 mbps here... still downloading. -.-
peaks
you dont miss anything, we cant get in 😄
Nature is healing
I feel like i'm still at work, trying to deal with a 3rd party who handle mantenance and i'm waiting for my ticket to be worked on
I dont want to heal, I want to destroooy
thats not positiv at all xD
Almost like there is no company that can handle when hundreds of thousands of people try and log in at once
hahaha understanding you 100% 😄
I think it's only like 50k right now
theres no queueing though
not sure if thats good
clearly not good, means things break rather than sit and wait
well one thing is sure, that's not me kekw
im not more people though
I am!
Haxxed
Time to go prep for my meeting though, RIP
what region?
LETS GO, ONLINE WORKING
US West
maaan, EU probably getting the short end of the stick
tarifs on last epoch servers
I KNEW IT
more EU people ready to play
Trying to join the enemy into us west server
online play unavailable on eu let's go
🥷
can I play my chars on us west?
pretty sure you can switch once you are past login
but my attempts at other servers arent working any better
Yup didnt work
probably got caught by border controls
They asked me what football was, thats how they caught me
If anyone wanna pass time, See tv show is great to watch
I prefer pressing a button and looking at a web, thank you
I should probably pass time by finishing my work for the day early
Currently trying to break a deal with Tzeentch
RIP MATES the LB cosmetic does not recolor cold converted spark nova
anyone from EU already in?
Nope...
time to reroll sentinel then
steelmage and ziz are on twitch
just by spam clicking
Been spam clicking for a while
what mage build are you guys running? last time to change idea
dont seem to help
divine bolts
up tp 82k so far
Connection build, 5 points into improve MS, 5 points into fast download
I was thinking in fure glacial but everything looks cool
250ms to us yikes looks like I'll have to turn off the cloudflare
It doesnt matter. You can change everything now. Time to test everything. 😋
Finding other way to enjoy my time
can log in now..
Man, gamers are such whiners
People in general tbh
What time is it for Us people?
11:30 am central time
Dang so some people might have took actual day off
they can survive for half an hour
They all can, never take a day off
Mee...
Magier class, new op
im drowning in excitement here though
steel got that and got in pretty quick
IM IN!
im in but half my legacy chars are gone 😄
We're not alone
Still waiting 🙂↔️
time for some fat SLAMS
I thought launch was tomorrow, guess I got the days mixed
But seems to be server issues as usual anyway?
Yap
im in and now its fluid
How don’t they learn?
different issues, very hard to test at the scales they see
there are some numbers you can't work around for a specific time
The LE global launch was the worst game launch I have ever experienced
They should have learned hehe
I still haven't been able to get in, got an LE55 error and then just sat there waited for it to load for 20 minutes, trying again after verifying steam files in a bit
Are you going for MAGE this season Abo?
Nope, going with falconer, they nerfed the shit out of mage and falconer was already way more powerful and fast anyhow, so I'm fine playing the rogue... and I tend to play it like a spell caster class
well that was fast
I wonder if the people doing the race got equal treatmetn
Some people are in act 3 while some trying to race won't even be in kekw
well server location and high internet speed might be a key factor for that.
new blackhole vfx looks BALLER
oh?
isn't Blackhole like a 40 point unlock in SORC tree... are u like lvl 50+ already? lol
logging into old characters I bet
got in
If someone still stuck, i disabled steam cloud and overlay like some people suggested
and it worked
Does that mean you can only play in offline mode? I can't connect to any servers, it's either LE52 or LE55
I'm in onlinej sut fine
ele nova selfcast is really nice in the very earlygame
i tried your suggestion, i exit stream, verify file, load game, spam play online... and got in
this is just one hell of a node to start with
did they make early game easier, or are spark charges really good there too XD?
spark charges are really good
spark charge nova has always been great for early game
towns are bad, cant get out of keepers camp 😢
with a group of people, all running back and forth XD
EHG doesn't really do mid season balance adjustments
pretty sure it was them that did the bugfix nerf to something, and if that node is just the wrong way round.....
125k players so far
Problem is that most certainly, in two weeks we're back at maybe, 15% of that?
So i'm sure they can't justify paying a lot for such a limited time
I suspect well see a tech blog on what went wrong - apparently there was a problem with getting into the queue that was the issue for logins
One thing i can say for sure, being there among the first didnt help 😂
6% dmg per 1% shock is intended
how do you know?getting to 1000s of % more damage from one source is pretty rare in ARPGs fora reason
the node was bugged before S2 to work as it is now, all they did was update the wording on the passive node to match how it functioned. seems pretty intended.
sounds far more like QA fixing something the balancing team werent aware of to me
even with all this scaling, brand is likely only going to have decent endgame damage. not sure why you think it will get a 6x nerf.
Got a champion that spawned tons of lizard woooo, and thats with a very restrictive lootfilter lmao
i got sealed t6 int on my first nemesis, this feels strong for levelling XD
is disintegrate any viable at leveling and/or endgame?
everything is
i mean it
for leveling
for endgame, as long as we're talking under like 400-500 corruption, you can make everything work as well
Had a question about Lightning Blast. Does the Overcharge + Hypercharge nodes proc the Halo Effect node as well?
They should, yeah
Okay cool, wanted to know before I invested towards Halo Effect lol
Hopefully it isnt weak
thats not too bad. As long as it works on the multi casts im okay with that
level 2 unique drop
is it just me
or does invocation's lack of access to %more kinda suck?
tends to mean it has more base damage, also it has the unique body armour that gives a load more damage
yeah the body armor is what im wanting to build around
Any build for leveling up (I am RuneMaster)
does blade weaving boost fire aura damage if procced from surge?
Too many spell to pick for runemaster damn! Whats a fun skill you guys would recommend
This glacier leveling build is nuts. Hold down glacier + mana strike, tank everything
Nemesis OP. Im level 18 lol
That's gross
hello guys, i saw some rune prison and killed an exiled mage, it dropped this color item, what does it imply O.O
Its an "experimental" affix. Special to drop only exiled mages
I see
Also is there a time limit to kill these harbingers? I defeated one but it seems like it escaped ?
The nemesis?
If you selected "empower" on a nemesis, its defeat animation is it escaping
I see i see i think i did that yes >.<
Dropped a Prism Wraps as a level 19 Spellblade, currently Glacier on my way to Shatter Strike (once dual wield), is it a decent leveling item?
what builds are you going for
Endgame goal is Shatter Strike Spellblade. But I'll be Glacier for another 15ish levels.
Ayo pretty good leveling item right?
oh okay nemesis
I am following the maxroll mage leveling guide and the lootfilter. Rule 9 in the lootfilter is called "Recolor most valuable" and under attributes dexterity is selected. Isnt that wrong? Shouldnt it be intelligence for mages?
If you're doing a spellblade build, they get really good crit scaling via dex
is runemaster a decent starter build?
Yeah, it's fine for sure
i think best starter buiold is supposed to be SB according to youtubers
why does maxroll not have the arcane orb sorc?
shatter strike is insane if you get it set up correctly.
Amm I think I done a mistake, I saw a leveling guide for a mage but I went for R uneMaster instead of spellblade ( Iwanted runemaster)
and the build had Shattering Strike
Is there a level guide for RuneMaster?
wait black hole always did ONLY dot damage?
yep
boys any tips
You can find a runemaster build on maxroll, but its aimed for endgame
Unless you want to experiment and find out for yourself, use the mage leveling guide and respecc when you reach endgame
Well well well, hello there
btw, you can respecc your mastery now
What level are you?
22
At that level i was just using lightning bolt and glacier
i really like the leveling build of frozen sentinel (the str stacker guy) it requires 25 i think?
It's flame rush + runic invocation + lightning bolt
I want to be
your movement skills just summon a rotating orb around you, and you lightning blast while it does that
runemaster tho
Tombs of the Erased / 1.2
Mage (20) / Runemaster (45)
▸ Fire, Lightning, Cold / Spell
• Runic Invocation (20)
• Flame Rush (20)
• Lightning Blast (20)
None
level 100 tho
is it for leveling up too?
it's not for lvl 100, you'll see if you checke very spell
what's importnat to check is passives, skills and eventually item but in early you just use what you get
i just discovered black hole and disintegrate are the only dot damage skill..
black hole will never be great ):
I'm level 20 and glacier whirlpool is good
using this build, glacier+mana strike before 100% ice vortex chance on small explosion and then smaller glacier + frost claw
https://youtu.be/dS98n5Up-_0?si=OuUj7_uXRGV06Rfc
so it's also good for leveling up?
Ele Nova + Convergence Lightning Blast are great for clear and single target
Or Frost Claw
Yes it is
https://streamable.com/yuotno this is what it looks like
Basically any skill combo can be used to level up, the campaign is very forgiving.
I got a slight fire resist overkill
you mean you're scaling black hole ignite?
does it scale of it?
not inherently, but there's a node for it
that's quite the burn kekw
working fine for me, might be an option in gameplay settings or a hotkey ?
can more than one ignite be applied per second?
Yeah, ailment chance stacks above 100%.
250% would mean that you apply 2 stacks and have a 50% chance to apply a 3rd stack
oh i see
maybe black hole will really work now
maybe a build with frost claw fire / black hole
@obtuse tendon I move to this build and I bvarely do any damage now : P
Did you understand how it works?
maybe not :p
is lightnign blast beter than glacier for lvling
You need to put your 3 first spell with fire lightning fire spell
when you cast 3 spells you'll ahve rune
using either runic invocation or flame blast (once you get the node which you should have if you're 25) it will spawn the rotating orb
so you just alternate lightning blast and move on cooldown
@obtuse tendon so the positioning of the spell slot matters?
glacier or lightnign blast for lvling
so I put fire then lightning then shield?
i did that because my flame ward is transfered to lightning
you can put lightning blast in the middle if you didnt reach the lightnign node for flame ward yet
so do I put flame lightning flame?
how u get lvl 46 so fast is there a speed method
When you've gone through the campaign a few times, it goes pretty quick
Just playing
oh crap glacier 1 cast takes all my mana 😄
you have a point in the top right to reduce mana cost and remove last hit
i personally didnt take it and just run past mobs, trying to group them before unleashing a huge glacier to kill them all
rinse and repeat
I am currently casting this fire lightning fire orb that's rotating, that's the one you meant?
yup
now you do that and alternate with your lightning blast
you mean to use lightning blast when I am on cooldown
yup
how do i salvage gear again
oh i dont have that. so i sell all these whites and lues?
@obtuse tendon Lastly, what kind of items should I aim for
blues*
which invocations do people actually build around, usually?
i do need a cold rune in the middle bc i wanna end up going strength stack
Have one build mage good damage?
for lvling, whatever is good
spell damage, intelligence, fix some of your resistances, hp, ward, lightning damage
everything work
i picked runemage seems like bad idea low mana for glacier
and glacier doing way mroe dmg than lblast
you can just keep going, use mana strike instead of lightning blast and just perma glacier
my character no longer is picking items up. weird wasd bug i guess
do you see them onthe ground? cuz if you dont it might just be alt +z
So the previous CoC-meteor build doesn't really work anymore, because the more meteors only work on self-cast meteors?
new league, just started then
first character 2 minutes into the game drop firestarter torch in the second area lul
well thats nice
not liking mage, this feels almost as slow as poe2
or the skills im using are no good
gday boys, I just crafted something a bit insane I think. It's a int/mana stacking coc meteor sorc
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/AV2EZegA
It's the first time I made my own LE build I don't really know if I overinvested into defenses or if the dps will be viable.
feedback would be greatly appreciated 😄
Tombs of the Erased / 1.2
Mage (20) / Sorcerer (72) / Spellblade (5) / Runemaster (16)
▸ Lightning, Fire / Spell
• Focus (21)
• Meteor (22)
• Lightning Blast (21)
• Flame Ward (21)
• Arcane Ascendance (21)
So few mage players so few guides
doing all the wrong skills and upgrades
might switch classes soon this is tedious af with LB
Start with glacier, lightning blast is really slow at first
oh ok. do u know what talents to go for glacier
I usually do the one that reduce mana cost and only has 2 explosions, the one that makes it ranged, rest into more damage
then I get ice barrage for long range clear
ok thx
can mostly just run with ice barrage up and clear left overs and harder targets with glacier
what lvl does lblast get good
You probably need the spark charge unique catalyst for it to feel good
o
craft some spell dmg and cold dmg if you can, really helps starting off
New dodge feels really good, like a mini teleport 🙂
frost claw and ice barrage works well together, frost claw boosts ice barrage attack rate
and what about volanic orb
Thats what I play, but can be hard to start with. But if you play runemaster you can use rune bolts to regen mana in between cooldown of volcanic orb.
Easiest leveling I think I've ever done is line fireball + greater fireball as a RM
this patch?
It's not what I did this patch, but it's pretty much unchanged from the past. Here's a super quick planner for your first skills: https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/QdjXWapo
You just cast fireball, flame rush, and Runic Invocation (Greater Fireball, 3 rah runes). Use Flame Rush to dash around and explode to kill stuff. Fireball to hit bosses/rares to stack up ignites and do tons of damage, and greater fireball to help you clear big groups.
Tombs of the Erased / 1.2
Mage (20) / Runemaster (10)
▸ Fire, Cold, Lightning / Spell
• Fireball (20)
• Runic Invocation (20)
• Flame Rush (20)
None
oh nice. what build you using atm?'
As soon as you get Dancing Fire maxed out, you go towards Flame Burst, and you just annihilate single target
I'm doing the channeled LB build I've been talking about. It might be a little weaker than I remember because there's been some power creep, but I just finished the campaign and monos are going pretty smooth to start. I Need some significant gear upgrades though.
Made a demo of frozen orb and planner if anyone wants some inspiration for a build https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXdtpB6JlfQ
Doubt it can do uber aberoth, but fun to play at lower corruption 🙂
anyone have a good item filter for shatter?
been doing a static firebrand build - veri nice
what is a good build to lvl at 22
real slow feel for me compared to other classes
I went RM but that portion of my character feels useless. the RI doesn't do much
Did you try the "fireballs in a line" spec?
I hope you step on a Lego…..
But gz
yeah the aoe was real low tho
Yeah you use a different spell for aoe. The fireball line is for single target.
You can spec fire ele nova, use runic invocation, get spreading flames on fireball... lots of options.
im gonna stick with glacier and just respec to Sorc
or go spellblade shattering strike
RM isn't for me
I tested frost claw frostbite and it feels weak, way weaker than it used to be. Something is wrong...
Runemaster has no real strenght yet
maybe i just don't like mage anymore. the other classes feel way better when i tried them earlier
you could be right, mage is not at its old top anymore.
Can I ask for advice on making shatter strike SB clear a little less bad?
Sorry can't help with spellblade, never got it working for me
what do you think about this,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBUZeolNUQY&t=138s
Ele nova felt SUPER strong early game this time. Single target is obviously bad, but once I got a second specialization slot, leveling was a breeze
Has anyone got a feel how of the new black hole is yet? Is cold black hole viable?
How’s clear? I’m trying to find a way to make clear not feel terrible
Clear what ?
Just clearing mobs
Really good at bossing but the aoe feels low
Or it’s slow at monos
for big area
and just run and spam
tp hit dash dash hit tp hit
boot + armor = big moove speed too
Mmm sweet
Man, you've been blessed by rngesus today
Damn my best drop today is a 2lp tundra helmet
I got a +3 LB helm from nemesis pretty early, but other than that all my drops have been for some random primalist
oh man arcane current was taken out back and shot
does stuff like "shock chance on lightning hit" work with brand of deception?
no only what shows up on your character panel
ty
does the skill damage make a difference?
like lightning damage/elemental damage stuff
I can't find a way to read the tooltip of brand in game
the skill's damage that procs it doesn't matter, just the modifiers the skill has. generic lightning and elemental damage from gear works yes.
Static orb good leveling?
Does anyone have a good Season 2 Disintegrate build they are using?
My build is kind of like legally distinct Disintegrate, heh
I'd love to see a build if you've got one! I've toyed with one in previous seasons, but I haven't had time to sit down and start from scratch this season
I just beat regular monolith lagon with basically zero danger, so it's decent at least.
Here's my crap gear where I'm at currently, you can kind of get the idea: ~https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/ow6a0vaB
Channeled Zero-Mana Lightning Blast. Insidious Conduction for channeled LB, Innate Conduit for casting at zero mana, Halo Effect for Spark Nova on every channeled cast (8/sec)
Teleport and cast RI to restore mana, drop Glyph of Dominion for easy capped resists, channel until everything on the screen is dead. Aiming? Wave your cursor near enemies and LB will snap to it.
:white_check_mark: This character build is verified
Tombs of the Erased / 1.2
Mage (20) / Sorcerer (5) / Runemaster (57)
▸ Lightning, Fire, Cold / Spell, DoT
• Glyph of Dominion (20)
• Lightning Blast (23)
• Runic Invocation (20)
• Teleport (20)
• Static (20)
Nice! When did you switch to this, or did you go from the start?
I started off with lightning Ele Nova and used LB for my 2nd specialization. Once you get Innate Conduit and Insidious Conduction (infinite channel) that becomes your single target damage, and once you get Halo Effect filled in, you can drop ele nova because that's when your clear is fixed.
Prioritize some Ward/sec on gear, especially the prefix on the chestpiece/helm that gives ward/sec per Gon rune. Use a Ritual Stone or whatever you need to get a bit of it early and it really makes survivability a breeze.
Here's an OLD build guide I wrote for the build from the ancient times. https://www.lastepochtools.com/build-guides/liaths-endless-lightning---infinite-lightning-blast-runemaster It goes into more detail. The playstyle is the same, but the gear is way out of date, there's a lot of good stuff we can get now.
It's not the highest DPS build in the game (especially before you unlock Halo Effect) but, it's super chill and low APM
I'm level 70 in the 85 monos and I don't really have to dodge anything except big stuff like the Diamond Matron death beams
I will definitely check this out, thank you!
Feel free to DM me if you have any questions 👍
Also no promises on how deep into empowered monos it'll get you. Last time I did it, harbingers didn't even exist
me: okay when i get home im NOT going to play shatterstrike like always and try somthing new. game: bet
