yeah if I do sorc it won't be for the static nonsense, but meteor and black hole both seem amusing to use in some way
TheCurse is currently experimenting w/ spellblade builds -- it's off-meta obviously but very viable
Yeah, my most successful "weird build" this cycle has been bane of winter shatter strike
Did the voidwinter bolts from Bane actually contribute, or was the weapon more a statstick?
I think it'd be fun to have a spellblade that also had extra projectiles (if they did anything)
looking for a good caster setup, any recommendations? preferably sorc or spellblade
How to survive as mage , i'm starting empowered monolith and some times i get one shoot 😦
its hard to give advice without a LETools build planner or even just what kind of character you're making to know what you're missing and what you're building. there's lots of ways to survive. Do you have crit avoid/reduced damage? Maxed resists? around 2k+ life if you can get it? what do your defensive layers look like? are you scaling armor? ward?
here it is sorry : i have no file armor or ward i dont know how scale them.
https://www.lastepochtools.com/profile/DoNotBlameItOnMe/character/Ultra-Desintegration
Anyone ever have a lp3 Stormcarved Testament drop from Lagon . I’ve got a few Lp2 after 100 runs , just curious if anyone lucky I want to keep trying for a lp3
You should get a wand with mana ward gain stat for ward
Mana spent gained as ward
Also you should aim for high mana on hero
how find this wand ?
You can find any wand and add the mana stat , wrong warp is a random drop , people usually farm it on stolen lance mono buy it from market or can have it drop with COF
any sorc leveling build not using glacier but still pretty strong/fast to clear the campaign and get to 60 or 70?
just because "someone" has dropped a thing before doesn't mean it's something you can expect to drop xd
But yes, I have seen a 3LP Stormcarved, not my own though
I am fairly certain Frost Claw can be better than Glacier even before the spark charge node but I haven't tested leveling with it pre-level 51 yet. You would go full extra casts which will give you 15-25 hits depending on how you target enemies at 100+ effectiveness each, and use staff for base damage until enigma drops
Why sorc usually?
It's personal preference, but usually there's more flexibility around how you want to build and bit more scaling from passives that synergize really well together w/ Sorc (Archmage, Lost Knowledge, etc.)
20 mage / 63 sorc / 30 runemaster presently - I still end up picking up a lot of the Runemaster passives
Yeah, they can clear packs on their own usually
And/or they mop up the pack you couldn't all fit in one shatter strike
Nice odds I’ll keep trying
tyvm ❤️
ezgame
Still room for improvement but got my static orb dmg to 2m which was my goal .. will try for more when I find better items
Aberroth in 3 hits
I’m still bad at playing against him - basically 1 hit then I move another hit then move and another hit .. not sure why I can’t kill him with 3 quick hits right away like others yet
Been playing mage for like 8 days now roughly
Fun build - enjoy smashing everything fast
First claw pretty high also for quick mono clears
And I think phantom rings better for the +2 crit chance over Julras
julras is better if you can be crit capped in the julra window, which is about 80% crit chance out of the window (if slammed with 2 x 16 int). i can get crit capped easily with a 270ish peak
one shot aberroth i can replicate 100% of the time, you just have to make sure you don't get hit by the beam coz those frailty stacks hurt your dps a lot
Yeah I have 2 x 2lp julra . Waiting for the t7 int rings to drop before I slamming . Want to slam t7 int with spell dmg
And you don’t use fragment of enigma for aberoth ? A skull would be better ?
I have to find a good skull also , then just change gear for monos maybe
yeah 6% skull, ideally with t7 mana t5 crit damage. mine isn't perfect, it's t7 mana and t5 crit chance but still good enough
Ok thanks - I’ll try and find one
Wouldn’t crit multiplier be better than crit dmg
yeah crit multi
Ok cool
t7/t5 crit multi/mana probably ok too, but not ideal. if playing cof, just getting 6% implicit together with t7 mana is already kinda tricky
Yeah I’m going to try and get a drop from cof now
just 6% implicit and t7 mana with garbage everything else is good enough, because it's all for the one shot, swap item for boss only
K
Does the blessing armor or increased armor % add to dmg at all ? I don’t have those blessings and don’t need them if they don’t
nah justs for general ehp, doesnt add to dmg
I have fire and cold res with those blessings
lol spicorr I was so content but then you had to go and beat me
Still need to swap out to an Orian's because that DOT is just nasty at 400+
yeah i had so many near deaths to kitties
did you end up running any crit avoid/reduction or just "yolo don't get hit" it?
i had a t7 and t5 roll, i think 90ish
okay solid, I was thinking about moving some passives around to dink around with the damage-to-mana passive
from leaderboards it looks like we're both running variants of chunky's build
yeah, passives so scarce
i used the pylle variant of chunky, but modififed for fixed never late bug
was that the broken one that heavily stacked damage-to-mana-first?
yeah it's stacked damage to mana, it was broken when he was using it using uncapped endurance, but he wasn't exploiting it much, i think he only had 80% endurance
now it works properly. it's a decent defensive layer but it takes a fair bit of investment to make it worth it
ah, giving it another go with a decent slammed confluence - lack of DoT mitigation popped me @ 415 this time
starting at the most recent 50 or 100 would be nice, but naw we're going all the way back to the 200s lol
at least we're only dealing with 500s. that's much more doable than 1000s last season.
i got 1169 last season which was rank 1 for a month or so, then cole got 2000+ and im like nahhhhh im out. i was playing d4 by then anyway
lol rip when every attempt takes 2+ hours
arena in general is a test of your endurance% and stamina stacking irl. 😛
and then the random arbalest at 442 -- IRL stamina exhausted until better gear lol
yeah i got rekt by ranged mobs on my run.
I mean, we're already on the weirdo scale for playing arena + SCF/SAF so it's kind of whatever
yeah, pretty niche. but at least something measurable to put your gear to the test
yeah and the last pushes definitely made my build better
when you can 1shot aberroth, clear 1k corruption farms in under a minute, and just do whatever it's a good method to keep weirdos going longer
im pretty sure new leaderboards of some sort are coming
was about to be like "okay I'm good this cycle" until I saw you pushing lol
i was the same, without the motivation to do better, you just stop
i started playing a vk for fun, its not very good at arena though
always die to some ground effect
good timing, Mage on top of SC and HC right now;
yes, I'm still alive - it was fairly comfortable. My HC character is honestly absurdly geared
wrecked abberoth right after, never drop below 7k ward
souinds like he didn't get the joke 😆
Are you talking about weed or was there some other deeper joke I missed
weeds haha, I thought you missed it sorry, Great fc+static guide btw, thanks.
i havent even tried fc yet, never got around to it. i think i want to try it now
it's honestly quite insane
i think i have everything already, just need to hit a fragment
my HC guy didn't even have a good fragment, last few waves; https://www.youtube.com/live/00SXDBTB2ec?si=90spdnjcXbRMJ9VQ&t=9461
is that planner what your hc guy used for arena?
same, except with double RR. bricked though, not T7 int
oh yeah the red rings. something to grind for, dont have those
do you think you could have pushed 600?
possible probably, HC though so only get one attempt 😛
yeah. i felt like in the 550s i could die at any moment
i think i could go 600, if someone goes past me i'l try again
I could probably try to set up a SC run but missing some gear
I don't think static orb is useful for arena
shred and frailty is also very important, but hard to get with orian eye which seems BiS
i think i'd only be using static orb for the lightning aegis for your setup
The aegis immediately pops though
hmm it actually does nothing?
it pops as soon as you take ~250 damage, and you lose the buff. Pack of archers hits you, still take full damage basically
250, so essentially it does nothing. wow. i had no idea
i thought it was a % of something
it's like 25% of your max life, which you don't stack as mage, so like 250 damage
cool, will take that on board the next time i decide not to take it 😛
It says when you lose 25% of your life, shouldn't it never drop because you aren't losing life, only Ward?
It's not like it says when you take 25% of your life in damage
that is what it says, but it still drops when you take damage to ward 🤷♂️
Lmao
@proper hawk testing aegis; https://youtu.be/G9xVb0StZ_Q
Thanks, that's just dumb
today probally i make my new flame reave build on LEtools 😌 for sure thats be something verry new 😅
Is there a way to get lightning fc to 40 manacost? Normal route got 39.6
it's not the skill that's the issue
you need to have less "reduced mana cost" on your items, and dont grab the node that reduces mana cost in the spec until you have way over 40
your wand should have -3 for instance
I see, i had 4pcs ww all -4
yeah, no gift of winter
check out frozen's planner from a few lines up which has a -5 wrongwarp for an idea of how to do your frostclaw
thats the problem when i wanna use lightning one, it should take -2 manacost, i wonder if i take fire conversion route > 12% mana eff > lightning conversion, which element the fc will end up
yea after looking at frozen sheets, only -3 manacost wrongwarp is the way to use lightning gc
element doesnt really matter, the dmg comes from spark charge. you scale dmg with int and crit multi
also flat dmg from confluence if you wanna do that
With -3 you can use 1 gift of winter, with -4 you can use up to 10% mana efficiency, with -5 nothing.
-4 +10% efficiency is technically best in slot for mana sustain.
-3 with GoW and lightning probably provides slightly more damage and faster shred / shock application
Cheers for the data, got pretty lucky 2lp -3 ww.
@unreal umbra im that guy who play "thematically" char 🙂
anyone can teach me or guide me on how to kill lagon ?
apparently sometimes lag or sometimes animation is not out when i press teleport
there is 1 situation when i press teleport 0.5 sec earlier and lagon hand come down
my body is at the other place at the same time lagon hand come down and i still died
it damage is around 3k always died
If the claw slam is killing you, it's a defenses issue. You need more health/ward and probably physical resistance
Guys, this is a "Rogue / Sentinel" affix... feels weird that you can use it on a mage but 🤷♂️
i'm pretty sure it's supposed to lock your item into the class the exalted came from
it does, for skill speciifc ones that are only specific to one class. but maybe because this mana % is 2 classes, it cant specify one so it doesn't specify any
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/QeWRYwqo Am I cooking somethin here?

Are Elemental Nova's Charged Destruction and Melting Nova different kinds of crit modifier?
(Found my answer: Yes, Charged Destruction is Added, Melting Nova is Increased)
Yeah, same applies to the class-locked attributes, they don't apply any restrictions to legendaries. Probably same for any affix that is locked to a group of classes rather than a single class.
Four categories of affixes;
-
- Affixes that are single class-locked (like first screenshot below)
-
- Affixes that are multi class locked (like % mana being locked to Rogue / Sentinel)
-
- Affixes that are available to all classes but do not roll naturally (like STR for mage items)
-
- Affixes that are open to all (like +health)
#1 Single class-locked affixes do apply restrictions to legendary items. (Intended)
#2 Multi class-locked affixes do NOT apply restrictions to legendary items. (Unintended)
#3 All class affixes that do not naturally drop for your class do not apply restrictions to legendary items (Intended)
#4 Of course this doesn't apply restrictions
I'm pretty sure #3 is just part of #2
he also forgot another category, the experimental ones, that you cant even get shards of
Mike did confirm it is unintended
Frozen got a %Mana Prismatic Gaze (should be Sentinel/Rogue locked) and it has no restrictions
the true hax
yes 1 guy posted it like 1 month ago.
I’ve used a mana % titan heart armor for months (since v1.0), but it doesn’t work with unstable core, because uc is mage specific. I assumed everyone knew that ability existed. But I’m certain that I’ve slammed a mana % peak of the mountain and I couldn’t wear it because it had some rogue specific affix on there as well. So I assume mana % is not labeled as class specific?
it is class specific for rogue and sentinel but for some reason(bug) it is working
What's better for static orb damage, confluence of fate with t7 mana & t5 crit strike multi OR Nihilis +2 skills with t7 mana?
anyone knows if mana strike's teleporting strikes malus on the mana gained works like a "80% less" (aka will also reduce any +mana gained nodes) or just affects the base mana on hit gained?
id assume the former.. but its kinda hard to test 😉 - hoped someone might already have the answer
confluence. i have both of those, i can do a tooltip comparison if you want
Oh please do. I appreciate it.
i dont think 2 skill points are gonna have a bigger effect than what confluence brings
confluence vs nihilis
thats with double julra, no other buffs just to be fair
vs
i guess it would be closer if my nihilis had 12% mana, but still not enough to beat. then again, my confluence is pretty mid on the flat rolls so its a fair real world comparison
+2 t7 nihilis is still pretty banger in certain cases, i used it in arena. mana stacker vk can use it also
Thank you for the comparison. Do you use a near 12% mana inc. implicit on Nihilis? Co I have only 5% hjaha, with no t7 mana in it.
That 13% to all res, and 19% armor is pretty dope tho, certainly helps in running monos near 2k corrupt
yeah overall package is pretty good. nah i dont have a 12% mana with t7 mana as well, i missed 3 or 4 other +2 nihilis slams and that was the first t7 mana i hit and i stopped there
I wish I had your NIhilis hehe, here's mine.
yeah your confluence is good though
I really got lucky on that first slam.
does flame ward's astonish (cast flame ward when stunned) trigger if you're immune to stun and "would have been stunned otherwise"? 😉
or do you actually need to be stunnable for this to work at all?
No, just when you actually get stunned and survive the stunning hit
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/Qkxp26DB
Any ideas how to adjust this build? 🤔
The issue is mana regeneration isn't enough to support.

• Flame Ward (22)
• Lightning Blast (22)
• Teleport (20)
• Focus (20)
• Static Orb (25)
I know many players play static orb but I don't know which skill combo they're using
orb, teleport, arcana, fc, focus
the two popular strong builds are chunkypapa coc meteor/static orb and frozensentinel frostclaw/static orb
Oh so what I need to do is...Add one more elemental damage?
Wait... The reason of using arcane ascendance is it can regain mana, gain mana from kill and buff the frozen damage and lightning damage so it's a well assistant skill with static orb and frost claw?
My question is you can't move when you active ascendance, so enemies have more chance to kill you 🤔
Do sorcerer suppose to a class which stand to cast damage as like as marksman?
for the meteor/static orb build, you have a left over button because meteor doesn't actually go on your bar, the meteors get casted automatically for you when you crit. this leaves room for unspec'd arcane ascendance which is just a bit of free dps to use while static orbing. it's not really important or a major part of the build, but something you can add in for some extra juice
static orb is extreme high dps for short bursts, designed to kill stuff before it kills you type thing. this is why being rooted to the ground while arcane ascendance is active isn't a big deal because you are just blasting your mana pool and one shotting the target
😂 oh get it. The rule of the format is elemental damage for single target (static orb/glacier) + elemental damage for multiple targets (meteor/frost claw) + damage/mana buff (arcane ascendance) + movement (teleport) + ward/mana buff (focus) ?
Then the focus on gears for sorcerer will be critical strike multiplier > mana regain > spent mana as ward > intelligence?
the stat prio for the 2 diff builds is different. chunkypapa build is mana > crit multi. int where you can get it. frozensentinel isn't exactly defined because it depends if you want to lean into clear speed or single target, but int is highest prio for clear and mana is highest prio for single target. then crit multi is good for both
😂 No idea do meteor or frost claw match with my style so I need to test both of them. But the base of lightning damage is what I owned.
they are quite different, so you need to choose one and stick to it. some of the gear is interchangable, because mana int and crit dmg are good for both builds, but as i said the priorities are different, and some of the uniques are different also
Hah unique items... Which build is Orian's eye suppose to run, meteor or frost claw?
both builds could use orians, but it's hard to get 2lp. confluence good for both builds
the uniques that are important to frozensentinel build are prismatic gaze and fragment of the enigma
Hah yeah...I own 1lp prismatic gaze only
1lp prismatic is fine, but 4% is needed
4%?
crit chance
🤔 Ok so I need to update these parts to make my build work:
- Helmet- prismatic gaze with + crit multiplier
- Wand- Mana spent as ward + mana
- Update the skill combo
do you have fragment of the enigma? that's required
im assuming you are going with frozensentinel build
Yeah, four of them in my stash but I forget their affixes so I need to check out later
wand can be any mix of transfusing/witch/eviscerating. all are good. if you can only get one, crit multi is probably the best.
Lol I got a 3lp wrongwrap while I farmed 2lp lost soul before so I just need to find exalted wands
wow nice. if you can get t7/t5 of any of those above will be good
then suffix you can get lightning pen if you have the forging potential
I wonder what tranfusing/witch/eviscerating wands are
transfusing - mana spent/ward + mana. witch - spell crit chance. eviscerating - crit multi
Crit chance must behind of crit multiplier haha
Increase crit chance only is the mistake I made
What I feel the essence of victory is who can deal more crit damage and deal it more frequently
there's a few things that can help you hit crit cap. which is why 4% prismatic gaze is so important, because it's base crit
there's also phantom grip rings
how do people usually build runemaster? do you hone in on 1 or 2 skills you like and then try to get those rune combos over and over? or go the "wild magic" route and just do whatever
Wild magic is fun, I did that last cycle. Set your skills on bar to each be one element and have rune bolt be random, invocation casts things off of your bar and is the teleport
i tried it during EA briefly - its kinda hit or miss for me; not every spell actually manages to hit things
Oh These're my stash:
Wrongwrap- one T5 shock on hit, one T5 increase crit chance, one 0lp, double 1lp, one 2lp
Prismatic gaze- one 0lp, one 1lp, one T5 health
fragment of the Enigma- double 2lp, one T6 increase lightning damage + T5 increase spell damage + T5 necrotic resistence, one T6 increase cast speed + T3 poison resistance.
Oh I want to ask the selection of wand... Own a 3lp triboelectra so...
pretty much wrong warp or bust. marina's is also usable for the other build though (chunkypapa)
those items you listed, none with slams in them are useful.
For exalted wands, I has no idea which one should I use...😅
the t7 crit multi one is the only one worth slamming. did you say you had a 3lp wrong warp or only 2lp?
only 2lp. Mixed it with 3lp triboelectra
actually you could do the t7 transfusing one, on a 1lp. worth a shot
what i'm curious about is do I need any cast speed bonus?
ah ok. yeah do either transfusing or witch as the second prefix to tier 5 and see how much fp you have left after that
nah, no cast speed at all required for either build
wrongwarp gives cast speed as well as sorc passives. frostclaw in this build isn't about spamming as fast as possible like it was in the last cycle
They didn't need to when you invoke every 2s and just cover the screen in spells
🤔 Alright it's a choice between 2lp wrongwrap and 3lp triboelectra...Which one should I use to slam...
T7 spent mana as ward for wrongwrap or triboelectra?
wrong warp
you can't use triboelectra for either build
use the t7 crit multi one for your 2lp wrong warp
hah triboelectra is useless for any builds?
yeah, sadly
your t7 crit multi is good, open prefix kinda hard to get, and it rolled pretty good for the crit multi
make sure you creation it before you slam
🤔 ...Hold on I'm not sure which elemental damage I want...Fine, add spell damage affix
Gamble time again...Not happy with spell damage affix so I need to random the roll 🙏
you werent meant to do spell damage but it's ok, it's not the worst
🙃 Alright no more fp left for me to copy. Just wish good luck this time...
as long as the crit multi goes across. 50% chance
👀 86% crit multiplier and 96% spell damage at last
for future, second prefix should have been mana spent/ward+mana or spell crit chance
🙃 ...
chill
I don't know what chill can do
The other failed one, T5 freeze rate multiplier
It makes enemies move and attack a bit slower
At max stacks, total of about 32% less speed on non-boss enemies, or 17% less speed on bosses/players
Are they multiplicative with each other ????
Emmmm fine the answer is out.
Frost claw + static orb is my choice due to this wrongwarp I got @unreal umbra
question what should i aim for when am slamming a 2 lp wrongwarp what stats should i priorise more i know mana+ manaspent as ward and crit multi are important but is there any other stat i should look and is there any nice suffix?
These're the best. Another affixes also cool but will limit you on increasing your damage under higher corruption
right now am rocking -4mana 2 lp wrong warp but i feel like i am lacking some damage or even durability
🤷♀️ Depend on how much corruption you plan to reach by this build. Grab any affixes relevant to your current skills is a cool thing too
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/ planing on going at 300 corruption first before i start farming for static orb and going to 500+
your link shows nothing

Yes, same goes for slow
anyone knows how the "mana gained: -80%" in mana strikes node teleporting strikes is supposed to interact with "mana gained: +20% per point" in node mana drain? im assuming 4pts into the latter would cancel the former out.
Has any player posted a Mage build with “Wall of Nothing” body armor?
@proven haven can u share your frost claw hc filter? and some planner for leveling until u get this? ty
https://www.lastepochtools.com/profile/frozensentinel/character/DeadBeforeMonos
My entire 1 to 100 progress is uploaded on my YouTube in the live vods. The FC guide also goes into leveling and has several planners. HC is not sufficiently different to justify new planners and filters, just do the same but grab more armor and take DR earlier
can u share the filter?
Its in the description of the build guide
sry but i didnt see the build guide... the only 1 i see in the yt channe is the static orb version
quick confirmation: does damage to mana before health also apply to ward?
nvm read game guide
ty vm
The -80% mana is a "less" modifier, so it's multiplicative with everything. Can't cancel it out.
That said, the stuff that just modifier mana gain only applies to the "mana orb". Conditional mana gain (like on crit) is instant and not affected by any of the mana gain modifiers.
🙃 I'm not happy
But 2lp one is the best still. Frozen claw let's go
🤔 Oh yeah then need to figure out which affixes I need to slam on twisted heart
Need to farm many relics at first...Too less storages
lol get why I feel my sorcerer is so weak...Lack of defensive. None of resistance is over 75% and it means I just going to suicide in empowered monolithes lol
Too many unique items are equipped then lack of resistance seriously
resistance typically isnt the most important defensive stat
it works differently in LE than in other games since enemies penetrate 75% resists after cap
None of them is over 30% before I adjusted 😅
ok thats pretty low
but i would say you want to aim for 65-75 resists
doesnt need to be perfectly capped
and going past 75 is just wasted stats
🤣 Sorry...I still prefer to being a lightning sorcerer when I see frost claw can convert to lightning
Not determind to use flame ward or arcane ascendance, do some testing at first
flame ward can convert to lightning
yeah this is a big adventage of it
also flame ward is the single best defensive ability in the game, its what makes mages not squishy
its hugely powerful, you can get another 40% less hit damage and 30% less ele damage in its tree
thats 58% less damage from hits, and 71% less damage from ele hits, which is just insane
😱 Get a perfect wand just now
the base isnt very good though...
youll have no flat damage
really that would be best used to make a legendary
🤔 Maybe it can make this wand more value?
ah see now that sounds very good
what tier is the inc spell damage on the exalted item?
if its t1 thats a guaranteed seal with a glyph of despair
which would let you craft cast speed instead
@queen mason yeah that exalted wand has t1 spell damage, if you havent already upgraded it, seal it with a glyph of despair and you can craft cast speed in its place
Very good this time through lightning penetration is missed
oh well thats still pretty decent
thats a pretty nice wand honestly even without the lightning pen
I own a legendary wand with crit strike multiplier...This is a huge step!!!!
if you werent already aware, a t1 affix is a guaranteed seal with a glyph of despair if its on an exalted item with 4 affixes, so it can be useful to make space for more desirable affixes
Skill combo is done ✅
Polishing my gears
Which experimental affix will a lightning sorcerer need? I feel...Nothing he needs
most useful is probably more "armor affects dot" on glove
the armor + armor reduce dot damage hybrid i mean
the issue is...You can see, no dot here
their dot.. not yours lol
ohhhhh this affix is for dot from enemies?!...I has thought from mine 😅
this thing there https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/prefixes/AOwRgDEA
but its just icing on the cake tbh - oracle amu and eternal gauntlet base are better early steps towards this.. this is then the last one you can take
😅 Thought a while on why i can't find any gloves base calls oracle amu
Copper Amulet is what I'm using
👀 Oh find one with lightning petentration which the affix I missed on my wand
Do twisted heart only work on builds which require cast speed?
well the ward generation mechanic requires you to "directly cast an elemental/necrotic" spell - so yes on that part
I wonder if this skill combo can do as amazing damage as like @latent rampart 's this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMXRR3QVpFY 🤔 If someone own the graduated gear
Level a build to Lv.100 can't be done in one day obviously 😅
All skills in his build is lv.21 so if I want to compare with both of them...Emmm hard to say.
More level of skills 100% means more damage from the skill combo?
He granted more cast speed from passive tree and the main damage from lightning blast...So I guess twisted heart is the advanced option although it's not appear in this video
oh wait it's a 1.0 version sorcerer...Alright
No youtuber interested in playing lightning sorcerer in 1.1 ?!?
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/BrGwRDPo Well, I discover an interesting lightning sorcerer build...The performance looks amazing and stack mana is what I want to do too... From @glad marten https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7C9Nt5jdYMc

Thanks for letting me know there's a build that can live well without depending on intelligence heavily 🙏
If I have the mana strike autocast frost claw, which can autocast lightining strike build going, do I need both Frost Claw and Lightning Strike on my bar?
I'm still having fun with it. I just posted an item upgrade to #👑┃item-showcase , too
With a few more choice uniques the build would be EXTREMELY tanky. Want to see how it does with seeds helm, but I haven't been trying aberroth
ohhhh it's you!!! lol I'm the person who post the next message...Nice to meet you!
I wonder why are you chose two-handed staff instead of wand+catalyst. The only unique item which hard to get is Fractured crown.
I'm on the way that farming T7 frost claw or T7 mana on relic.
Staff can be really good for mana stacking because with T7 affixes on the right base you can get an insane amount of mana. And since they aren't using Ignavar's, you don't really get much benefit from catalysts over staffs
Ignavar's?
Ignivar's head, unique catalyst
Staves are, in general, WAY higher damage than Wand + Catalyst except that catalysts have base crit
So if you need base crit to scale, you need to run wand + catalyst. Since disintegrate doesn't need this, staff is way better
which is a bummer, because I want to use Tribolectera or whatever that unique wand it called. But I lose 20-30% dps whenever I try
So, just did a little test: For my mana stacking Damage dealt to mana before health, Mana is your main health pool, but you still need enough health to avoid one-shots, unless you have 100% damage dealt to mana before health
If you don't get one-shot, you generally have enough leech to get your health back
oh...So double points for stacking mana:
- Increase spell damage
- Reduce taken damage
Before my last upgrade, I had 6415 one-shot EHP, but now I have 8820 one-shot EHP. So that's better! I generally say I have 12,251 EHP, but I can get one-shot at smaller single hits
Yeah due to lightning damage is your main damage but Ignvar's head is for fire damage...Without catalyst is better
Ignivar's head is kinda bad anyway, honestly
Ignivar's head will probably never give you more damage than a staff would, unless you're stacking flat crit by playing spellblade
I'm interested in seeing some math on it, but I've advised people on this before and after they drop ignivar's and get a decent staff, they gain like 20% more damage even with all of their gear still sitting on spell crit, which is obviously completely wasted
You're WAY better off not spending the affixes on spell crit, and just getting int/EDoT/whatever
spell crit chance...Which items can I get this affix?
and, for my build, mana
from https://lastepoch.tunklab.com/affixes, Body armor, Helmet, amulet, Catalyst, Relic, Wand
(and staff/sceptre, but not relevant here)
🤔 Why spell crit chance and crit strike chance isn't the same thing
So it's a rare affix, and takes the place of more valuable stuff. And it doesn't give much value without a TON of base crit, and ignivar's doesn't give enough. You'll have like...8 base. Not good. Ignivar's used to be go-to since you could build Gambler's Fallacy and get 108% base crit, which then was scaled with spell crit chance
This is a really fundamental thing about LOTS of stuff in the game. Spell crit chance applies to spells. Crit chance applies to all hits, including spells
things that are less specific, like generic crit chance, have lower affix values
Because what I curious about is can I stack crit strike chance instead of spell crit chance to up damage from Disintegrate 😅
good question for Mike i guess
No, it's a fine question for anyone who knows the skill!
Crit chance (or spell crit), do the same thing for disintegrate. That is, nothing if you don't have ignivar's
But both of them increase your spell crit chance, which ignivar's converts to more damage for disintegrate
But you prefer spell crit affixes to crit chance affixes, since they roll higher values
ohhh that's important haha
This is the wand I used in 1.0 with the ignivar's+gambler's build
That's a t5 spell crit almost outperforming a t7 crit
on a wand T7 spell crit can roll up to 263%, whereas crit can only roll up to 175%
I'd played dot build enough before (my torment warlock go to this direction under I can't get a lost soul with crit multiplier) so what I want to do is enjoy a build which base on flat crit 🫡
And yeah triboelectra with T7 crit multiplier is a good weapon if you can own one
I do own one!
I have a 3LP one that rolled T7 crit =\ But it's still worse than my staff setup by a mile
😆 What the funny thing is I slammed one today and posted it on #👑┃item-showcase. Which one is better, yours and mine?
Yours is good, but really bad for disintegrate since multi does nothing
Frost claw is the main damage for me so I can use wand + catalyst
Mine is also +3 lightning skills

I need crit multiplier so I don't use Orian's eye yet because mine is T5 increasing lightning damage only so I need to farm the other one.
Spell crit chance wand...T6 only, no T7... 🤔
😆 I'm doubt that Aaron want to tease someone who want to play elemental disintegrate to buy the wand he found
Do you want to try disintegrate in next build? @latent rampart

What is currently a good Celestial Conflux mage build for 1.1?
Your build lack of a right amulet base only then it's a perfect set...🙏
Appreciated for sharing
same here unbuffed, I could transfer some points into crit trajectory to inflate the tooltip damage, but I think storm conducter gives more actual/real damage in real time
I failed to slam t7 mana and crit multi to a newly bought 1.5B +92 mana 2LP stormcarved so I'm out of gold now haha
Mine
May I ask which one is better when you only have 1lp, level of frost claw, mana or critical strike multiplier?
That's the skill combo I'm playing too
I would go mana
it depends on the build and what you want to do. if it's pure frost claw for clear speed, int is best. if it's frostclaw/static orb for boss killing, mana is best. crit multi would be acceptable for both clear and boss, but not best for either. if it's coc meteor/static orb, mana is best overall and clearly best for bossing, crit mutli acceptable also though
I want frost claw for map clearing + static orb for boss killing, then mana > intelligence > crit multiplier > level of skills?
Most players usually do mana/ crit multi with a lp2 .. wouldn’t get your hopes up with a lp3 or lp4 ..
And you can clear up to 2k corruption without any level of frost claw just having like 20-21 points into frost claw is enough to clear maps
🤔 Emmm my level of frost claw is lv.24 now...Ok Let me focus on stack mana
yeah, dont ever need frost claw levels in this version of frostclaw, not like last cycle
mana/crit multi is pretty safe, good for everything. but could go mana/int also, which is also good for everything and also helps you reach crit chance cap
if you only have 1lp, crit multi is probably the best all round if you cant be bothered swapping. or you could do a 16 int one for mapping and a 120 mana one for boss (swap for boss only)
my one:
I'm using this currently. Failed to get t7 mana rolls on 3 x 2LP storm testaments. So I'm still stuck farming Lagon lol
Hi Lagon, I come back to kill you again and again 🤭
😄
all u guys play with FC static orb?
played lightning blast + static orb before but it's too weak so I switch to frost claw
...Realize I have zero T7 crit strike multiplier catalyst just now 😵
Make a list about which items my sorcerer are lacking and there're a lot indeed 😅
what is the best build for mage id like a good guide if anyone has one
Just had this drop wish I could give to you
CoF? ☹️
Anyone to plvl me some plz
I’m cof but it’s not a prophecy . Does that matter ? Not sure if I can give or not
free? gimmee
You need obsidian resonance with a specific person to gift them a unique, good luck
You can share it as Father said. But the first Obsidian takes quite a while
I heard currently the best one is sorc manastacker, there are two most notable ones, FrozenSentinel's Frostclaw and Chunkypapa's static orb/coc meteor.
Note that Chunkypapa's CoC meteor is an endgame build so don't transition too quickly, transition too early makes it feel terrible.
yeah but mana stacker is highly dependent on slams if you want to use it properly. Granted youcan just use exalted items but at some point it's not enough
Lagon's harbinger is quite hard due to I need focusing often to regain mana... 🤔
😅 Begin to walk to the wrong direction always again
Go back to try after I improve my damage is better, too tough
Dunno I don’t have a problem with him , I hit him once - the frost claw and Tele - static orb again , then frost claw Tele - few more static orbs and he’s done
Also going into negative mana helps getting mana back to 1k + quickly
Like instantly
My static orb is like 2.3m dmg , not sure what yours is
So, still very new to the game. Still experimenting with the various skills. I love the idea of a fireball sorc. Was just wondering if there was any specific gear I should keep an eye for or if there any cool synergies that might not be very obvious for a fireball sorc.
Edit: I went CoF, if that matters.
😢 ...Insane. Mine...33K only
another 1lp testament... Where's a 2lp one
2lp testament is a bit rare, might take you a while to farm
Chance for 2lp on that item is less than 1% baseline
Can you post your hero so I can see where you put your points into static orb , 33k seems low
I just had a look at where you put your points into static orb , you can get way more damage by having 5 points into manacharged , you only have 3 points there .
I would remove 2 points from static armor and add them to manacharged
Also I would remove 3 points from shocking conduit and 1 point from insidious focus and add those 4 points into scatter blast
hi, i have 3 half baked builds. which one do you think can go the furthest into end game? also if you want can min max the gear choices and other suggestions to improve the builds? I kept things low tier to be conservative and make it more easily acheivable, with room to grow, the last i played was just before multiplayer released so I'm currently a little lost on all the new stuff
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/BOE8KY5A - this might be my favorite one, feels like it might be strong
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/BjJv7kxB - this one is just super satisfying to play, probably the funnest of the first 2.
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/BG3yglxB - dnno about this one, just put this together quickly. it's kind of a hybrid of the first 2 combined

got disconnected having a problem right now
Can you make a post for me where to put points for elemental nova - also am 2 points short for chaos swirl . Would have to remove 2 points from somewhere . Maybe 2 points out of conflux and just have 12% there ?
Also do I keep using frostclaw and just the passives from elemental nova ?
Cause I basically just use frostclaw to clear monos
chat me in game or dm me here,, dont wanna spoil it here xD just got back in game
K
Thanks for your advices! Let's do it
😅 Even more rare than 2lp last step!?! Alright
I never see a 2lp last step even though my corruption is...541 corruption
and I just see single 1lp frostbite chackles
🙏 Boss exclusive items test my luck so hard indeed
But on the other side, I get 2lp twisted heart quickly XD... 0.65% drop rate
Yeah, significantly rarer
Ok, more damage now 👍
Work on mana and getting a wrongwarp , then you have slowly get whatever you need afterwards
try to kill it again and be successfully once time
Frost claw -> Static orb -> focus -> frost claw -> teleport -> flame ward is a good loop 👍
have one but failed at slamming haha need to find another T7 crit multiplier wand even though I own another 2lp now
Find a T7 mana relic is so tricky
The shortness of mana stacking is I can't just wear one of them, it's worked only when your a set of gears is ready
I want to find a T7 crit multiplier catalyst to slam a fragment of the Enigma too, it's too low (less than 400%)
lol an interesting choice EHG gives me...
Mana + crit multiplier is the best so it's not the best. But T7 mana is juicy
slam the right affix on it isn't easy...
Ok...Not bad 🤔
A bit hard to survive under 308 corruption with current build...🙃 Sometimes be killed suddenly if I don't cast static orb on time because my ward isn't enough... Static orb has 73480 dps and frost claw has 10761 dps, 1009 mana and 2014 ward under full hp, 1458

I wonder should I stack health or not...Seems that no way to gain more ward except go to that low hp set?
you need to take a closer look at how the build is meant to work. i suggest you watch all of frozen sentinels videos, the whole way through so you can understand what you're meant to do
you dont have spark charge working at all which is the essence of the build
i dont know how much your frost claw costs but its probably less than 40.0 (which is wrong)
17.1 only 🤔
That's mean I don't cost enough mana to refund mana? Let me check out any nodes relevant to them...
Oh yeah... Focus and teleport need to be adjusted a bit
frost claw is meant to cost more than 40.0 so that it activates this
the whole build is based around this
😅 Yeah always miss something important
Hey, I want to try a spellblade mage but I don't understand what stats it needs. I see passives for spell damage and for dexterity and cast speed but it doesn't feel very good
And this point influences me to cost over 40 mana too... My mana cost is 32.8 though. But it still reduce mana cost even though I go to the other branch...?
...First time to know how hard to add the mana cost of a skill indeed
🤔 So I can't use orante idols with mana efficiency of frost claw Emmmm but I need more mana
As Spicorr said, you should watch those videos about the build from frozen sentinel. This is the probably best explained build ever, you find some nice Videos and sheets about it
Can kill enemies smoothly under 308 corruption after adjust my idols 🫡
Just...Still a bit squishy so be killed sometimes
That's odd. I follow the frozensentinel build and my ward baseline is 3700 and builds fast to 6-7k easily. You shouldn't be squishy.
I don't get why he equip this ring...
4th line
when u use a fire spell u cast a wandering spirit and then u can use evade to teleport the whole screen
hey guys what unique one handed sword should I aim for if going as mana strike frost claw ice barrage spellblade build?
Do you mean he just use swiftness instead of evade to move faster?
No idea what can I do to cast a single wandering spiritOh gain more ward
🤔 Ok so this ring isn't be required if I don't mind move slower
🤨 Ok it's serious gamble time again
alright...it gives me dodge rating :(
So leveling a mage and was wondering is disinigrate better than glacier level leveling to go RM?
best ring for you with your current gear is a 2% crit chance phantom grip. 2 of those actually, since you dont have prismatic gaze.
@proven haven Hi, I want to ask a question about the choice for the wand:
Which one is better on lightning sorcerer builds, triboelectra or wrongwrap or Marina's lost soul, and why?
(If all of them own T7 crit multiplier + T5 spell damage)
I don't get why even wrongwrap no bonus on level of lightning skills and 53 spell damage only but still get better performance than triboelectra with 54 spell damage and +3 level of lightning spells. Marina lost soul can give 60 spell necrotic damage + 15 spell necrotic damage, own the most flat spell damage but wrongwrap still better than lost soul on dps.
Wrongwrap always the best choice and I'm confused why.
@queen mason have you watched his guide? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PxO81rVxmY
yeah wand part is watched, on skill notes part now
And it's my conclusion:
No matter that which flat spell damage you bonus, wrongwrap always the best even there's a wand for lightning skills specially. So why EHG give us triboelectra if it's the best choice for none of builds? Too ridiculous that +3 level of lightning skills still can't catch up the extra damage from wrongwrap.
On the other side, the only shortness of wrongwrap is I must find one which -3 mana cost. Over 3 is failed because frost claw must -2 mana cost if I convert it to lightning damage.
And this is the 2lp wrongwrap I found, -4 mana cost unfortunately
mana cost issue is sorc only issue tho. but ye. there are usless uniques around
Then triboelectra is the best choice
why? just dont convert frost claw
😵 Want to play pure lightning damage
i mean your frost claw damage doesnt matter
your damage in this build is spark charge for mapping and static orb for single target
and they are lightning
? Wait, frost claw still is a lightning skill even i don't convert?
it is cold. but it applies spark charges
you are using frost claw in this build just to apply spark charges very fast
Then yeah it can't get bonus from triboelectra
and its fine because triboelectra is bad wand 😄
I'm sorry to hear that
well as i said there are many bad uniques around
bad or outdated
triboelectra could be usefull tho. but it is not generating ward when orb is used with evade. so ye
I had played pure lightning build since 1.0 and I'm hyped when I hear EHG plan to bonus sorcerer a lot. But lightning sorcerer still more limit than fire or cold sorcerer after they changed a lot and added a new wand for lightning specially.
WANT TO ASK WHY THE LIFE OF LIGHTNING SORCERER IS SO HARD
but lightning sorc is meta build. maybe just in not the way you want it to be
🤣 So why no youtuber play this meta build
i mean static orb/ spark charge fc is lightning sorc
I don't get where frost claw get spark charge
sorc tree
and enigma ofc
thats why you want 40+ Fc mana cost actually. this and ward generation
I played lightning version too, it isnt so bad to farm -3 manacost ww, it just the price to pay for the build you want (lightning in this case)
of course my trouble is how to increase my defense nor more damage now
but poor damage is damn always
Im personally play volcanic orb to farm gear for lightning fc, damage never been an issue with volc. Can tried glacier too with budget build
mana regen :) tough to adjust something on my builds because it's relevant to another things like resistance, intelligence, less crit damage taken, crit multiplier etc
Frozen don't use flame ward so i need to explore by myself
- ward still too less
- Mana is run out quickly but the enemy still alive
⬆️ That're issues I need to solve (5000 ward is the max already)

You can try put more points on static armor for more aegis uptime (static orb tree), and passives mental catalyst on rm pretty good for 36% reduced crit
try use 2 pcs 2% phantom grip. You had good crit dmg but crit chance is low
5pts in arcane warden passive on spellblade is good too when you had that plenty int, mana well passives in sorc is decent ward gained too
Oh wait. Forget to give more points to manacharged again...(Static orb)
doesnt matter, youre just leveling anyway and can reset anytime
Why my experience is on the opposite... Yellow numbers pop out always but they're not big enough (1.3k-2.5k only) when I cast frost claw
Maybe watch some of my vods, I do use flame ward on my hardcore version. Also most of the questions you ask I answered in my video guide. eg. the -3 "being mandatory" (it's not), maybe go over that video again
🤔 For mana stacking, I'm no idea why are you still stack mana after your mana is over 1000...oh nevermind...Glacier is relevant to max mana
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLFBbVdeIp0&t=2s But this video (frost claw + static orb) is follow the same logic, as more mana as possible...Even though no skills relevant to max mana
why are they don't stack mana regeneration instead of max mana is my question
static orb scales massively with mana
lost knowledge scales with mana
mana gen isn't an issue if you manage your mana properly, use free teleport refund tech (meteor). when you dump 2000 mana, no amount of regen is gonna help you there, thats what focus is for
all of this stuff is explained in the video.
Even level of static orb is less important than mana on helmet...Interesting
oh I must don't get what manacharge means before so my damage from static orb is poor
I feel I jump in a new loop which focus on a special status again XD
Necrotic resistance is the core of warlock as like as mana is the core of sorcerer
just go to touch the extreme the best
In his spreadsheet, he ranks the top 3 affixes for each piece of armor. The static orb version is good when you get around 1300 mana. I'm at 1324 with 169 int, and static orb will kill most bosses in about 2-3 hits at 650 corruption. It's really the only time i'm low on mana is after using static orb multiple times. Otherwise, I wouldn't stack mana that much.
169 intelligence is as tough to do as over 2k mana
Every piece of your armor must with T7 intelligence
15 helm, 24 chest, 11 and 12 on rings, 15 boots and 8 on gloves. I have mana only on relic/amulet (both LP1). I thought about sacraficing some int for mana, but for me this works well. I also play a slight variation from Frozen because I'm not as good as him. Made some custom changes to account for my lack of skill.
For the pure FC variant I don't prioritize mana above int beyond 1000 mana. It's still incredible good to get if you can though without sacrificing int. Mana gives you mana regen scaling because of the sorc passive node, and it gives you more ward gain.
For static orb variant you can priotize mana above int to some degree because it scales hard
Stacking mana regen is absolutely trash because it takes a valuable affix slot and only applies to your base mana regen, which is low. It doesn't give you more damage, it barely gives more regen than flat mana, and it doesn't give you any extra ward
Also check my planners, I don't have 2000 mana AND 170 int. I trade one for the other as needed. It depends on if you want more single target (mana), or more AoE (int).
Int also scaled ward retention, crit chance, % damage, etc.
My hardcore character has 200 int, and I rarely bother with static orb since my FC melts bosses anyway
mana regen is fine.... as long as its on belt kek, i think it can afford it, especially on a communion
but yeah other than that i dont like to prioritize it because the effect isnt as good as youd believe it to be
rare items would probably be more efficient
if you have both CoF perks
there's one to turn rare items into exalted, and another to improve exalted affixes
the item you use for ascending doesnt matter though ? and if youre using one you should be waiting for items flagged with the faction
Hello. How big of a deal/difference is the idols that have a Spell Fire Damage of 1 - 3 in a build? I realize that it is base stat but it doesn't sound like much to me.
it depends
let's say you have a base spell fire dmg of 3
if you have 100% increased damage for it you have
3 * (1 + 100%) = 6 dmg.
If you increase dmg by 50% more you get
3 * (1 + 150%) = 7.5 dmg
However if you add let's say 3 base dmg instead then you get
(3 + 3) * (1 + 100%) = 12 dmg
it all depends on how much you have of each value, at times an increase in % will be better other times a flat increase would be far better
if what you want to replace that increase in dmg with is worth it in your opinion, like health or mana or whatever else, then it's also good
Thank you for your information
hello folks! havent played LE in a while (last stopped before new cycle started), but I'm coming back and thinking of going for either disintegrate or glacier. which would be an easier route for a first char?
Glacier for me.
ahhh thanks for the info!
glacier indeed
Any suggestions on a zoomy sorcerer leveling build?
Noobie here. I need help to improve my build. My dps is okay with lightning disintegrate, about 320k without buffs and goes upto 510k with buffs. But my survivability is really bad. Like i get one shot by the tier 2 champion as soon as he spawns. Any suggestions?

Less players who select runemaster after a series of adjustment live on runemaster and sorcerer, so which shortness the runemaster own compare with sorcerer?
Anyone playing fireball sorc?
Im just curious if I should farm the warp wand or scales of eterra first
Farming a nice Scales is pain and usually only a small powergain. I'd prio that last
Oki thanks
fc/static, as usual
Never played sorcerer, can you link a build for dummies?
If you look up frozensentinel on YouTube you'll get the build and planner, it's been done already
did anyone test/does anyone know if flamereave area scales with modifications to width when you convert it to a circular atack?
Width doesn't affect it
does anyone know if the DPS shown on disintegrate is per beam? i grabbed the twin beam node and the DPS number went down, i figured if it were counting both beams in the DPS it wouldve gone up but im not sure
Never rely on tooltip DPS on its own, but yeah if you grabbed that node and DPS went down it's probably only looking at one beam
Easy test, did it go down by 30%?
yes, so im guessing it being per beam is the case
well ye it is sometimes hard to see void zones. on some builds its even almost impossible 😄
nice and active gameplay btw
😆
just do it! you just need 9 more waves 😄
i guess its fair level. all these 1k+ are broken builds ( not on solo ladder i mean)
like 1900 abomination . imagine. or this ogre's sorc build. no one knows how it is played still i think
abomination did tho 😄
i mean there are too many factors. we should agree on that
I dont have any endless arena keys to do another run
build looks sick! gg
really😆
thanks I think I did everything I could unfortunately cycle resets soon which I couldn't finish my build.
Yeah shame. I still have some unfinished builds and things I wanted to do too
that build looks fun
thats crazy, got a build link to see what youve got on?
I’ll drop one tomorrow morning, not at my rig atm.
What ways are there to increase mana cost? I'm wondering if its possible to get lightning blast to cost 40 mana and so far, the only thing I found is Gate Staff with 20-52% increased mana cost
you cant get lb to 40 mana ^^
also lb also has a node to trigger spark charge, best way to play spark charge with lb is using ladle and scaling cast speed to the moon
Everything is exactly as I have it right now. There are quite obvious upgrades, but I just haven't gotten them yet. I can burn down Abby in about 3 seconds after he drops his first slam.

I never can get a 2lp one
lol where the resistances this build not getting nothing
All items are legendary is the reason I guess
1,5k armor lol
FC and SO are both Lightning so gear boosts both. FC trash mobs, SO bosses w/ AA. Confluence of Fate adds over 400k base dps to SO. @humble mortar like I said I burn down abby in 3 seconds, and speed run 1.1k corruption. Not sure what else I'd need resists and armor for lol.

I lack of armor too... Defense too poor then I always be killed by one-shot attack
I had a friggin 3lp testament drop from harby and then I died and lost it. That would have boosted FC +4 w/ small hit to mana.
I hold down "w" and teleport every 5 seconds, each time granting immunity for 1 second and stun immunity for 6 seconds. It's a big deal for survivability.
1.189mil base dps for SO. When on a boss it's FC > Tele > Get close to boss > AA > SO to death. Easy Mode.
I could throw in Fear (Evade) to the rotation for more dps, but if they run it's a problem if they get too far away while I'm rooted with AA.
well with builds like this your defense is basically killing everything instantly in monos as well as the bosses.
I play similar build, but i actually run different items for monos and bosses to have some more defense and int in monos and more mana to scale so against bosses.
also the dmg does not come form frostclaw itself but it triggering loads of spark charges for u.
also ye the 1 sec immunity as well as massive movespeed is also good for surviving 😄
That's a play style thing I think. It makes more sense to do it your way and switch gear, I just hate doing it so I try to balance as best as I can. I'm sure I could knock out higher corruption if I did it your way though.
bruh 3 lp is so insanely rare lol, if I lost that i would just deinstall out of frustration 😂
how did you die after killing harbringer tho? Or you meant nemesis?
I know. I quit playing for that day. I was so disheartened.
Nemesis. The nemesis died, dropped the testament, then a **cking plant poisoned the ground under me and I didn't see it...rip
classic, rip 🥲
100% my own idiodic fault, but damn it hurt lol
I can't complain though really, I have a 2lp strand and 4 lp fingers waiting to slam when I get the exalted.
Question because I am not at my computer to find out. When disintegrate casts volcanic orb form channeling does it cast it at the point where the beam hits or from the character
I need to know this if not is there any other way to cast volcanic orb so that it is cast at a location instead of originating from you
Also is there a rune master combo that is really good at casting all three elements consistently
Wait it’s runebolt lol
Hello, do you know where i can find a good build guide for glacier sorc for a fresh start ?

but you don't need jesus all the time. 🙂

I got rid of FC as I'm at the point where I'm just farming bosses, so I got rid of it for flameward but in saying that, flameward doesn't really do anything for me either I guess
how do you earn points for cof/merchant? And why would you replace frostclaw with flameward when your os bosses? 😛
@faint heart I have a question on how you make/made your build(s). Do you not look at the entire unique and focus on the bits and pieces that you need for the build and then work towards getting the LP amount you need to make it the way you want?
has anyone had issue of fireball reseting the last 3 skills when using uniques that give plus skills. Using Liaths and Cindersong
Are you in reference to an unique that gives you + to fireball while being used, taking it off for something else and then putting the unique item back in and seeing you have new + levels? Yes. It happens all the time.
This includes replacing the unique with the same type of unique that is not the original.
it's allways a bit annoying because it seemingly removes random points and not the last once you put in :d
wish they'd change that
agreed
Pst, you can let the Dev's know in the #1210281911872786482. They're much more likely to see it there, rather than here where it'll get burried by other posts. Everyone's voice should be heard. 😎
To be sure the Dev's have seen this behavior over the years. 😉
If I recall correctly, when you use the maxroll.gg to import a build from someone, including yourself, on the passives and skill it shows the order in which they were selected. Therefore it would make sense that LE would follow the reverse path when removing + levels.
I based it off a leveling build but ventured out from that. Once I got the uniques I needed then I started on the LP specifics. I hope that answers your question?
To be clear, it's like this for a specific reason to prevent exploitation. But it sure is annoying
Not really. I wear the items. Then I allocate the extra 3 skills. Once I move to the next zone, they 3 skills are unallocated
Report it in game, I've had this happen before with a skill that got levels for being a specific element it was converted to. Something about the order of operations when your character loads.
Lol...
ye these mfs slay xd
Yes I already reported it, sadly I can’t use the extra skills
Imagine that hit critting
Lol dead is dead though. I didn't have a chance.
Are you doing an ignite build, or direct fireball hits @lapis sun ?
If you do direct hits, you should get rid of that wand by any means
Direct hits fully converted to lightning. Machine gun style. The extra proj really helps
but you have barely any flat spell dmg it's really not good for that.. ^^
Good point 😂
In theory if they are getting flat spell damage from some other source the extra proj serves as a multiplier, but yeah it's probably not a great choice
I was going to let this go but I am really curious about the ring you posted for your build. 🙂
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/oNpKZ25Q
The ring is Phantom Grip. The ring appears to be mainly for minions and forged weapons, which you don't have for the build. The ring does give flat crit chance, flat mana as well as increased crit chance. I was curious if these were the items you were looking for your build and then find a Phantom Grip that had the LP you needed to add other affixes you wanted/needed.

Flat crit chance, and had %mana which is nice
Prior to using PG, I used this. The flat crit chance and % to mana outweight a t7 INT ring DPS wise. The implicit crit chance doesn't hurt either.
Honestly, I knew PG had flat crit chance so I thought I'd test it out over the red ring and it worked out better. Everything is a test lol. @balmy elk

I will say that I plan on 2LP for uniques that I plan to use.
Oh yeah, you can't really plan for higher than that. If you get them, awesome, but if not, you're fine. Mostly rare to impossible with these uniques. Like 3lp Unstable Core or Prismatic Gaze. Won't ever see those.

Any tips? it's glacer from maxroll 😄
Flat crit only comes from some specific places and is very important. Some builds have trouble getting flat crit from the normal sources and for them the ring is very strong, just for the crit.
Prismatic gaze serves the same purpose, it's largely just for flat crit
the proj goes in a straight line, so maybe it makes a difference?
Just the quick view at what the LE Tools APP show, to me your Endurance and Endurance Threshold are low. When I attempt to create a build, I try to get Endurance close to the 60% max point.
I also try to get my Endurance Threshold up as well if I have affixes I can play around with.
Looking at the blessings, you don't have one listed for The Black Sun.
You could set it to Grand Echo of Solarum and free up an affix on your boots.
You could use the following blessing for The Age of Winter: Grand Vigor of Jormun
Also, a blessing for Endurance
you dont need endurance in a ward build
Then is your recommendation to build up Health?
If I recall correctly, the base for Sorcerer is 800
its a ward build so you focus on stacking ward, and on sorcerer mana = ward
So far I don't see anything that is generating ward on the skills. Am I missing it?
mana shell and lost knowledge in the sorcerer passive tree are the two main ward generators
combine that with mana stacking and high intelligence for ward retention and you end up with a very substantial amount of static ward
With the 90 Int and 777 Mana you are recommending more?
the ideal point for most sorc builds is ~2000 mana and ~120 intelligence
Wow. Understood. 🙂
I do 2k +’corruption with 20% endurance and 130 threshold . I don’t really think you need 60’with a mage
Endurance threshold is a bad affix. Since base threshold is 20% of your max life, you are always better off just adding life instead of endurance threshold
Glad to show my ignorance and weak building skills. 🙂
Hey, I'm not trying to rag on you. We are all learning here. Gotta find out these things somehow after all!
Agreed and thank you for the replies
I am hoping to learn a lot in here to make better builds. Learn what to look for to assemble the pieces.
Here is a really good video from Perry the Pig from a while back that might be helpful: https://youtu.be/k0fMZA7OO9M?si=XyXhXhX3owdokvdy
Hey All, It seems the Sorcerer passive node 'Lost Knowledge' doesn't work when triggering static orb with evade or flame rush. Is this a recent change or has it always been the case?
Always been, LK procs on mana spent, which only happens on direct cast
sweet, thanks for the info
Thx for the anserws! ill try improve with my build 😄
If i've got the Unstable Core mage armor and i also have the Luminaire passive selected, does directly casting the skill 6 times count while channeling?
No.
damn...
Now, if you manually press and release the channel 6 times in 2 secs it should work.
I am thinking of it like a semi-automatic weapon.
Three shots and it stops
they should have a note somewhere on the tooltip for this interaction
Once you see Channeled, everything changes.
This game is quite litteral with what is says
i know, i was just wondering because of the wording in Luminaire that says 'unleashing 5 novas per second'
Understood. Just like the Fireball skill as well. Flamethrower
1 channel = 1 direct cast
not my build ofcouse but i cant work out where the 5k ward is comming from i have 2k ward standing but where is the 3k comming from https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/build-guides/shatter-strike-spellblade-guide
I see Shattered Strike has ICY FLOW that give +15, Runemaster tree has Unsealed mana (works if you have a 0 cost spell) and Acrcane focus that gives +2 per cast, Spellblade has Arcane Warden for +24 on hit, Essential duel when you use elemental melee attack and hit at least one enemy
what is currently the best DPS class upgrade for mage?
those are all in combat things though, the guide says 5k out of combat. more in combat things, the two rings and amulet ward on crit.
how much int do you have? is it 150+?
@balmy elkit says not in combat tho at 5k my not in comat is about 2051 ish
@unreal umbra113-125
i'm not spellblade expert, but 2k resting with 120ish int sounds about right. i also dont know where the 5k would come from. there's no major ward things happening there so without exsang, last steps and low life gloves, i dont see 5k happening
what class/skills are you using?

I guess this set of gears can kill Abboerth? I want one of legendary items I'm equipping can bonus both of mana and intelligence but I can't do that yet.
Ofc you can kill him, this won't be enought to os him tho
os?
spell crit chance?
Y
You did not still calculated destruction in mage passive tree, this node is a must
Skill*
oh yeah this is the point I'm struggling. Active that node means I must give up a bit health + mana or intelligence + resistance... No idea how to balance
🙃 Both of mana and intelligence is what I need
🤔 oh so that 24 mana is what I must give up
🤔 Triple T7 mana I own so what I can get one more T7 mana is relic. Gloves need to provide intelligence so I don't want to change
you can just remove points from rift bolt tho
you dont really need leech for that build
remove all points from that tree actually, also from ceraunomancer
But it provide extra lightning penetration 🤔
you really want mana well as well
oh then I agree with mana is more important than lightning penetration
? Because the bonus is too less?
I mean you could also just remove the 7 points from ceraunomancer if you want to keep the lightning pen and remove some more from the rune master tree, you could remove points from unsealed mana because cast speed and 18 mana is really not that good and you never use the 5 point passive from this node with your build anyways
oh make sense. 18 mana bonus is too less definitely
I prefer to add more intelligence then haha
🤔 Let me check out if the dps is the same under 8 points on ceraunomancer and arcane warden
...Wait. So it means bonus crit chance and bonus crit multiplier need to be reduced even give up too
take some out of rm tree first
you could also try to replace your basic rings with phantom grips for more crit chance, most people also use at least one julra's stardial in this build
lol I'm not sure why are they want more spell crit chance because I noticed my damage always crit, just the crit bonus damage not enough (relevant to crit strike multiplier)
18% crit chance does not allways crit tho? it's less then 1 out of 5.. ^^
🤔 double more legendary items means double less slots for resistence balance...How are they get every resistence over 75% with double phantom grips?
everyone is running 100% crit chance (in julra window at least), smashing aberroth in 2-3 seconds. is it possible that everyone else is right and you're wrong for thinking 18% crit chance is enough?
You don't need to be over 75 res, 60 - 75 res is fine. Enemies penetrate 75% res after cap so missing 15% res is only 15% more damage taken from that type, instead of the 60% more it would be in other games
So they exchange more crit chance with balanced resistence?
y my resistances are allways the last thing i figure out tbh :d
they are not as impactful as you might think or as they are in other arpgs
Emmmmmmm this is the first thing I will think when I decide which ring should I wear
My knowledge is washed definitely 😅
I must say it's quite hard still... 😢
Looks fine to me, that fire res is a bit low but you can clean that up later
craft your rings first ofc, like get that t7 int on there
what blessing are you running for emperor of corpses timeline?
you can get 20% all res there as well which helps a lot with resistances
but its also kinda wasted as long as almost all your resistances are allready at or above 75%
Where's the overcapped void res coming from? Maybe you can drop void res for fire res
Had tried, impossible so I switch it to necrotic resistence
I guess from my gloves (ignore poor cold resistance please xd)
Sometimes that happens lol
43% void resistence from my belt
What's your belt look like? Exalted CDR?
For resistence balance and damage
What's your amulet?
Do you have an exalted mana bone amulet? That would give you Phys and necrotic res, then you could give another try at all res blessing
Copper amulet is not a great base unfortunately
No one with T6/T7 mana even I own so many bone amulets 😅
I guess next step I should do is keep farming amulets with T7 mana? Amulets and rings are items I struggled the most because too easy to get affixes I don't want or don't get affixes I want then this amulet is trashed even with T7 mana/T7 intelligence
Damn. I have to work now so I can't help further but hopefully you figure something out. Keep an eye out for that all res blessing, it's a lot of total resistances
You could also compromise on not getting the crit multi for the better base depending on how bad you need the res
also getting apply frailty on either amulett or gloves would be good
thats 15% damage reduction
and get in some armor pen wouldn't be bad either
You can choose one of them from each selection only:
- Fire resistance or armor?
- physical resistance or armor?
- All resistance or necrotic resistance or poison resistance?
- Void resistance or crit multiplier?
- Lightning resistance or cold resistance or mana?
🫡
*shred armor
preferably armor, armor, all res, crit multi and mana but the beauty of it you can allways respec now so move them around but try to get your gear to the point where you can chose those i would say.
The fun of sorcerer is this is a character needs both of balanced resistance and armor 🤭
ye sorc res are triky
It's why I choose to sacrifice crit chance at last lol
ah too tricky
even with a 65% necro res roll x2 the other from a slam i doubt thet would give me 500 ward letalone 3k
the only thing i can think of is this build was updated from the 1.0 when ward was way higher and the buildmaker forgot to change that part of what ward you should have not in combat
i do get about 600 ward ontop of my 2.1k with a 1 necro res roll but 5k just seems way too high to get
yeah this is most likely the case. my 1.0 character when i logged into 1.1 went from 10k resting to 5k. some of that is due to frostbite shackles nerf, but mostly due to overall nerfs to ward in general.
it says the build was july dont know if that means it was updated then or first uploaded
it's not a brand new build, so it was most likely the update date
which chest would be better to use? im using frozen sentinel's frost claw spark charge build
Unstable core is bis, it has 7% inc mana and + to skills and the elem dmg too.
thanks. wasn't sure if it outweighed the 13 int difference
The int is there only for the spell crit chance if you're less than 80% or trying to get that red dmg bonus from 180 att of red ring.
do you guys think Sorcerer is fun?
Spellblade and Runemaster are my favorite masteries and like 80% of my playtime is on those two
but Sorcerer always seemed kind of lame to me, but I never actually played it
thinking of trying it because I find most of the other classes boring and need something to play for a week till patch
I like Runemaster too. But after trying a new build on him I just have to give up.
Basically it's Cleaver Solution + Fundamental Criterion to stack strength. Before starting I thought this one gonna be on fire because 100 strength will give 300% more damage(Multiplicative with other modifiers yes. Who else can stack this much?) to Invocations and 100 intelligence for free(Cleaver Solution makes your intelligence equal to strength). Now I've stacked 100 strength and give him a lot good equipments to stack critical% to 100% and critical damage to 420+. After trying all the invocations I found the one with the highest damage among the ones with Heo on the second(required by Fundamental Criterion or you won't get the 300% more damage) is Gon Heo Gon. And finally guess what? The critical damage is 2w hitting on the wood man who doesn't have armor. 😅
Here are the equipments. I really have no idea why the damage of Invocations can be this low. How can we play Runemaster who relies on Invocations? The damage is no more than a Lightning Blast. 😅
Just curious who else still take Invocations as main damage skill...
if you play without static orb I'd argue the t7 int is better tbh.
my guess is you have no base spell dmg at all so where do you expect the dmg to come from?
like 300% multiplier does not do anything if your base dmg is non existent
I'd have to see the rest of your equipment to give a true reason, but an educated guess would be Midnight is correct. If flat damage is X then 300% multiplier is X*3...low flat = low overall.
You're right.. The base spell dmg is around 10 I guess. The dmg% increased by intelligence is(400%). So ss the dmg formula (10 * (100% + 400%)) * 300%? If so you guys are totally right...The base spell dmg is very important.😅
Any suggestion where to get the spell dmg if the right hand is Cleaver Solution?
Left hand then
there are not many options tbh, julra's obsession, the confluence of fate.. but that also makes you take a lot more dmg.. ^^ it's hard.
Depending on your balance, the Confluence of Fate adds a ton a dmg. Generally speaking it outweighs the negative dmg from it. You can also get a couple flat dmg from idols but it's trivial.
Thanks! Really help a lot my men. Is the formula correct? Let's say if the basic dmg of the skill is 40. Is the final dmg 40 * 10 * (100% + 400%)) * (300% + 100%)
Just equiped Confluence of Fate the dmg did imcrease a lot. It's around 8w now. Still not ideal though. Guess I have to give up the Runemaster Cleaver Solution bd for so lacking of the spell dmg. 😕
For the spellblade, is there a reason to go flame shield instead of flame brand? Flame brand does SO MUCH damage I don't wanna give it up
But i don't see many people using it in monos
that's an amulet confused me a lot because of spell xxx damage
yeah i thought maybe, since frozen's guide says most of the damage came from scaling enigma's int to flat lightning dmg conversion. but my damage went up after i swapped chests, or at least it felt like it did
110% flat dmg also scales your dmg ofc maybe it outweights the dmg increase of the 13 extra int but you could also roll another prefix for mana like lightning crit multi. I used static shell for my fc build for monos for more defense and it adds another small multiplier vs shocked.
but unstable core should also be a viable option 😄 you can just slam a t7 int on it as soon as you find one with lp 😛
yeah i got a 1 LP sitting right now but the roll was kinda rough, 45 mana out of 120
working on farming more unstable cores to slam later, but im also trying to find my first prismatic gaze. i think it should crit cap me after i find it even if it rolls badly since i'm using 1 phantom grip until i find a red ring
im COF though so idk how hard finding a red ring would be
lol after saying that, i got two prismatic gazes from a heorot prophecy, one 0 lp and one 1 lp
what 8w supposed to mean? i honestly have no idea how much damage you are talking about
flame ward is an absolutely insane amount of defense, to the point its basically mandatory on every mage build
didnt find a single one this season, but i also rarely did ring prophecies
Took me about 160 rings from prophecies to get a red ring with cof maxed out
hey all, i'm currently running a FC/Static Orb sorc (following FrozenSentinel's build), and trying to get a good exalted glove is tough. any ideas on what a good "temporary" unique/exalted I can use? i'm currently using Isadora's Gravechill
T6/T7 mana or T6/T7 intelligence or T6/T7 armor and reduce bonus damage from crit
what ability should i use to kill off packs quickly starting out? things are only really killing me becasue i haven't found something that kills a pack in a couple casts
okay flame ward turned things up a bit
Depends how early "starting out" actually is, but my default is nova>flame nova>targeted nova. It may not be the most efficient but it's a good workhorse till you can move into something approximating your actual build or have the mana to sustain something like frostclaw
i mean super early but i got to 11 here. disintegrate just does work for free at this level i found out
Not very long 2hours mayb
Better than 0.9 arena first 400-500 waves were just waste of time
and why are they not anymore? ^^ didn't play a lot of arena yet.
I think they have changed the difficulties with arena to reduce the amount of time you spend
another one is wasted...
lol just slain by cold weaves after hit by harbinger of chaos (ending of the storm) because I has zero ward. Then I guess.. which part of defensive I still need to bonus? Not a crit kill but the damage is 4444 and has a bit overkill damage.
The corruption is 371 so I suppose my sorcerer can kill her. Not a high number.
Pick up a T7 armor and reduce bonus damage from crit tonight but the cost compare with unstable core is no bonus of lightning skills and lose 11 intelligence but I can reach 2437 armor
...I feel intelligence more important than mana if I want to kill enemies faster and more on continuity if my static orb can't reach the one-shot level
Farming flat mana + % mana idols but they're so rare 😢 And I need the roll as higher as possible
Anyone playing pure glacier? Whats your mana? Im at 1300ish corruption and have 1.5k mana. I cant sustain mana while arcane ascendency, I respect it for frost wall and have no mana issue on boss. My question is do I only need to keep the mana above 1k? I can get 100 more crit multi if i took out some mana
@proven haven which theme of sorcerer do you think? You had tried different sorcerer builds so I guess you have the own opinion.
What are you asking, which is best?
what the essence of being a sorcerer is. Spend more mana on spells to deal more damage is my opinion
I can't get what Mike means by
Sorc primary theme: Long range spells.
Sorc secondary theme: mana. Not [high mana cost] as the whole theme. It can be high mana cost or other mana related things. For example but not only this: using mana as a defensive layer is also part of the theme. So the secondary theme is more broad than just [high mana cost].
and I guess maybe you have different angles to clarify it
The essence of what sorcerer "is" in Last Epoch is how EHG defines it, not really up to me to say. They have their vision and they can make changes over time to make it align to their vision whatever it is.
All we have is our opinions of what it should be.
Right now it seems like they want to theme sorc around mana, maybe to make it more distinct from runemaster
Meteor is the sorc key skill though which is a huge mana cost big effect skill so you could argue that is the identity
I suppose your frost claw + static orb sorcerer build is super successful and popular then maybe this build bring me to "why the sorcerer is so odd, it even live better than without using the exclusive skill".
I had tried builds without iconic skills of necromancer and warlock, both of them work not as good as exclusive skill's ones.
Then I'm doubt how EHG decide which skill should be the iconic one
The irony is that I do use meteor in my HC Frost Claw sorc, except it's only a utility and mana generator
Mike has given a longer explanation of how they pick the mastery skill in the past: #👨┃ask-the-devs-not-support-no-bugs message
Meteor primarily falls into reason #2, but #1 is also relevant. The only difference between a skill being "the mastery skill" or just another skill locked to that mastery is you get the mastery skill much earlier than any of the mastery-locked skills (those require 25 or more points in the mastery's passive tree to unlock).
So in this case, they picked the most iconic skill for the mastery slot. When a new player imagines a sorcerer, static orb isn't their first thought, but a large, dramatic spell like meteor might be (especially for people who came from D2).
ohhhhhh do you mean Mike explains it base on the difficulty and flexibility of a skill be played by new players, metor is better on the friendly for new players and rare items?
🤔 My opinions are based on I'm free on exalted items and own the highest rank of cof or mg indeed (It's more for the end)
Not so much, just that it is the class fantasy. It's a really cool spell. Meteor was probably one of the first spells ever added to the game because when EHG thinks of sorc, they think of meteor (a lot of them grew up on D2, and it's iconic from that game as well).
Balance and gearing are totally different issues, those will change as the game makes updates, but they aren't going to constantly swap the mastery skill around for these.
#👨┃ask-the-devs-not-support-no-bugs message Maybe what I struggling is the order of them
Let's change an angle, I'd like to talk why I suppose static orb is a good choice for exclusive skill.
- The bonus passive of sorcerer is add flat mana and more mana you spent, more damage you output but it's limited.
- Static orb's skill tree has a node is more damage per 20 max mana so you can stack mana to up its max damage.
- You can cost more mana to improve cast speed, the number of metor, the direction except the damage so the max damage of metor don't relevant to your max mana (oh I get what Mike mean by other mana related things now)
- Sorcerer is a class who intend to up damage from skills by more mana because of its passive bonus (of course intelligence is the second important because it's one of masteries from mage)
Right, static orb is definitely a good fit for a sorcerer skill. So, what would be the benefit of preventing the other masteries from using it? Don't forget RM also has a static orb proc in one of its skills. What currently sorcerer-only skill would you swap its place with?
🤔 Good question worth to think. Do you mean the alt skill which need to prevent runemaster and spellblade get adventage of it too due to their passive bonus?
My idea is really simple...Just switch the position of meteor and static orb
Oh, that's almost definitely not going to happen. But if you were to make an argument for doing it, it would need to be a really solid argument for what benefit there is to the game to make static orb no longer available to classes that already have synergy with it built in, and then also make meteor available to the other classes.
What would most likely happen is, meteor would probably be primarily used by spellblades proccing it with the belt and not actual sorcerers, which wouldn't feel too good imo.
why Meteor will be a big help to cause spellblade overpowered?
I doubt it would be overpowered, just that the only class that will use meteor in its current state would be spellblade
oh why spellblade is a suitable class to play meteor and maybe cause overpowered cases?
Because it's good at proccing spells with attacks that can be used to generate mana to handle the mana problems
oh so the key reason for a player maybe want to use meteor is it can restore mana and deal powerful fire damage at the same time, if this skill don't own this adventage anymore, then spellblade players will not choose it.
Now the problem on Meteor's skill tree haha emmmmm 🤔
I guess then I need to learn why meteor will be a good choice for spellblade as a restore mana skill and why spellblade maybe meet mana issue by playing this class 🫡
As this logic, I guess it can be an good alt skill for solving mana problem for runemaster too
Thanks for providing the direction for how to go on this argument and how to explore mage in a correct way, appreciate it
Just checking, for each of my endgame mage builds, if I want to use a staff, I pretty much never use a unique. Are there any uniques staves viable for end-game mage builds (elemental mage builds)
Reowyn for plasma orb rm?
emmm wrongwrop will not a wrong choice
oh staff...So it's two-handed weapon. Well no idea....I use wand only
Aergon's Refuge and Vilatria's Downfall are only staff which relevant to elemental damage
Question about Mana Strike. I want to verify that if I take Frigid Grasp the converts this from base lightning damage to Cold and then take the Mana Spark node that Converts Mana -> Base Lightning % that it will actually be Base Cold %
When do the servers close//boards reset??
Only Aergon/Reowyn
what is a good build to start and progress early monoliths with harbinger bosses? without having to find LP uniques
once you change the element of a skill, (usually) everything that affects the former element gets turned into the new one
including the dot!/CC
well im using jaspers rn on my spellblade and having fun, at 600+ cor atm and the char is far from optimized
surely if you have one with 3-4 LP, they aren't useless (for example even a celestial doom or a jasper with 3 LP could very well be better than a purple staff for certain builds), though a staff means trading 2 items for 1, not sure if it is a good trade
but ye I allways felt like there is not good unique staff for mages casting spells
you prolly better off with a good exhalt
maybe there are some good builds for celestial doom, don't know how good the doompulse is
Aergon's Refuge might be viable as well? gives some good defense, good flat spell dmg and a lot of int
doom pulse is not really scaling (even if you use 3 elements to trigger 3), but the other stats on the staff (particularly mana spent gained as maximum mana) are nice to have
like, better than nothing 🙂
though I have yet to see one with 2LP, not 3
actually I have one with 2LP in the stash, but did not consider slamming something on it yet
so even if you hit like 1,5k to 2k mana the doompulse just sucks? should be a lot of flat dmg on it, also 1% crit multi per 1% uncapped increased mana reg also sounds like you could in theory boost that to the moon 😄
but ye no clue how doompulse behaves, is it like a nova you cast on yourself or at the target?
nvm cast at target, doesnt sound too bad, also has 500% added dmg effectiveness.
it is a purple projectile
but the 4sec cooldown/element is a big limitation on the scaling
ye found 1 vid about someone trying to do a build around it on yt 😄 didnt look too bad but ye ofc the 4 sec cd is a big limitation :p
also, while it might be a decent amount of extra damage, but the 4 sec means it is not very smooth, 1-3 "randomly targeted" big projectile every 4 sec is not good
if it was a big nova, then it could be useful 😄
or if it had sub 1 sec cd regardless of element
or if it did something interesting, like placing a unique debuff
That single item has better stats than the 2, so it's usually worth it unless you need flat crit which comes on catalysts.
Yes, even with 4 LP jasper's isn't great for most builds because it doesn't give anything most builds need a bit of defense, which is nice, but it's a bummer to trade flat spell damage or +1 elemental for it
I guess this helm will be a good choice too? More crit chance (21->26)
I want more intelligence rather than mana now because damage from frost claw is consistently but static orb can't. I must focus to recover mana then it give bosses rich time to kill me
ye ofc jaspers is a very specific item, with flamereave firebrand combo it actually feels really good tho, but ye the build is completly melee
What i learnt is max mana decide min ward and min damage you own, intelligence is the key to push max damage and provide stable survival
yea, but that generally happens with most staves, no (though sure, some can give +1 skill level or extra mana cost or max mana instead of "wasted" +melee", but is it that big)? it just feels something + catalyst is better and/or more flexible usually, but yea, as it only has a questionably useful +block and nothing else really (for casters, melee can make use of other stats)
Yeah, in general staves are almost more of a primalist weapon. Though I think they can be used for DOT builds where you don't need crit on a catalyst, though nowadays there's opulent focus and cradle that are both really good offhands (and maybe other uniques depending on build).
Staves provide more stats overall, and critically, more spell damage. Catalysts give base crit which is often sorely needed
But for non crit builds that scale with spell damage, wand+catalyst is like 40% less damage
The main things that give wands the edge for mages are:
- Catalyst crit
- Actually good uniques
assuming you do not have other spell damage for your spells
if it was -40% damage, almost everyone would use staves 🙂
There aren't many significant sources of scalable spell damage. Confluence of fate, mourningfrost... the end?
Oh this is nice. If anyone plays legacy, this might turn your 3% prismatic gazes to either 2% or 4% lol.
there is stuff on the passive tree, and on the skills themselves
Nah, it's just every build is a crit build, so they need the base crit from catalyst
fragment of the enigma for spark charges
crit is really massive
being crit capped easily overscales even +66% damage (the reverse of 40% less)
I think there's, what, 15 for sorc, 10 for rune, and 25 for spellblade? And most skills don't have much +spell damage.
and there is quite limited source of base crit as well, I'd argue more limited than +spell damage
Yeah, exactly. This is why people use catalysts. It's for crit
or good stuff like fragment of the enigma, which I found scales quite decently
well the addition of phantom grip makes it possible to crit cap with staffs as well
yes, but not easily
Yeah, and spark charge doesn't use normal spell damage anyway
really? I recall it uses it with 100%
it doesn't use normal spell dmg?
i think it does
enigma is just so op that it is kinda irrelevant
yea, getting +200 (100ish int is reasonable with midgame+ gear) is big
Yeah, I think I'm wrong, here
