isnt manifest armor supposed to slap now
It's good
I prefer making my manifested armor friend stab by giving him a sword
have you gone through with this? it looks interesting, all the dual wield bonuses and stuff

• Warpath (23)
• Smite (21)
• Sigils Of Hope (21)
• Ring Of Shields (21)
• Lunge (21)
didn't put too much thought into it 😄 idea is we main warpath ofc, we have lunge specced into kill threshold and smite and CDR and +1 charge
lunge procs smite which heals + buffs + activates frenzy from boots experimental
sigils for dmg
ring of shields for survivability + armor
we lunge into enemies to proc buffs and then spin to win
I didn't pick Warrior's Fury, you could pick that for more dps, but you need to find - channel cost helmet first
and in that case we probably need to swap one of the skills for a mana recharging skill
no VR since it's getting nuked next patch
sword because +10% base crit on warpath
with gear from planner it's like 90% crit chance, there's a little bit of HP regen from blessing (and sigils boost it too), there's leech from VK tree
the build is 60% endurance, if you find 10% somewhere else you could swap pts from paladin tree into Valor for extra HP
@scenic gyro have a look and see what you think
did you make this for lvling a fg or whats the purpose
no, that's the pure physical warpath you said isn't a thing
i have similar gear on my phy warpath ^^ switched to mace/sword 5min ago since vlad suggested it, instantly tripled the dmg
playing around with it rn
yeah sword+mace is an upgrade, 2h is just quicker to obtain
im not saying you cant play it, you can play anything, but im talking towards 1k corruption this just doesnt work
well, why do you want to push 1k corruption?
its a cool number
anyone know if the new symbols of hope still passively buff you with dmg/block etc?
I mean, right tools for the right job. There are builds for pushing, for farming, and builds that are simply fun to play
we haven't seen all the passives, but the base effect of + flat fire dmg and +% health regen is still there, so yes
i got a good idea for shield rush if it gets fixed next season. use event horizon since shield rush don't get affected by attack speed. use horn of uhkeiros to make shield rush cost more mana. should bring it to about 65 cost. use strand of souls and 2 weavers will rings to get up to 300% of mana used gained as ward, and spam. that's about 240 ward per attack. but if you bring in healing hands as well, that's about 350-500 ward per attack depending on your healing effectiveness.
No, never
i swapped my 2h fg to mace/sword, it actually kinda slaps even with very average gear
shield rush restores your mana after casting, so you can spam and gain ward as long as your fingers don't get tired.
Could use World Splitter for AoE and Crit
Interesting
Naal tooth looks sexy here
i tested it already, it doesn't do nearly as much dmg as event horizon. but it does do bigger aoes.
i think this'll keep me busy until season 2, if it can clear abby im happy
what about arek's bones as mace? it has armor shred and two flat damage bonuses
i just need to pray that mike wasn't lying when he said shield rush was fixed. and not saying 'fixed' as in 'eliminated'
Good idea
doom star base is too strong
90 crit multi
i thought about arek's bones, but nothing can beat the 150% more dmg and 70% all penetration.
I was thinking the Vengeance Mace for the AS
also, that's one of the only 4 builds that could make use of event horizon
Different convo
got an exalted sword with inc as, it feels sufficient tbh
Falcon Fists ?
got a source of doom?
Mad man
man, pushing 1k with those gloves 😄
the new aby gloves gonna be bis for any melee build anways
new abby launches same time in legacy? so day 1 kill? 😄
this
Yup ^^
if it works it works
dot dmg reduction is gonna be so massive
if your meaning the new uber gloves, dot dmg reduction does nothing for it
nah i mean the general changes
oh right their reducing enemy dot dmg
i dont even value dot mitigation on gear after season 2 anymore tbh
its nice to have like inc aoe, but i wouldnt sacrifice much for it
yea
tho sentinel does just kinda get some with champion regalia + eternal gauntlets
I hope leo helm gets changed so terror crown is a better pick
That helm is weird why is it void only
Yeah but why have a base item that’s designed for only 1 class
isnt that often the case with class specific bases
It’s a sentinel item
we also have a helmet with fire dmg, which doesnt get much use for voidknight either
maybe it's just old choices when we didnt have this much stuff in the game and it just didnt get revisited
the newer bases like leonine are more general
But it works for pal and forge
rogue also has a helmet with implicit for falcon
Terror crown was a new one wasn’t it
eeeh idk tbh
LET says added in 0.9
yea but thats like 2 years away no
yeah terror crown and apoyclapse plate were added in 0.9
i dont hate that there are bis bases, better than bis uniques
It seems way too niche
I hate the whole idea that helmets and body armors are class restricted
why, it adds flavor
Then how do you stop a mage from just equipping champions regalia
most classes have some bases that are meant for one mastery
look at it this way, there are uniuqes that are meant for a single skill, thats even more niche
if you get good affixes on a meh base then you can at least slam it
yea
Yeah like those judgement gloves
The whole skill now revolves around that 1 item for hit dmg
i hate that even more 😄
Yeah that’s worse
nothing says good item design like an item that only works with ONE skill and nobody uses it anyway
I mean they added that new spear for forgefuard only essentially
dang mike just said the downside to forge guards one hand a two hander is probably attack speed
he doesn't 100% remember
oh god pls dont go the poe2 route and make melee miserable
Two handed node should have been sentinel
yea but you are still using melee weapons then arent you ^^
ye
Like deep sentinel
and if your doing FG thats hard to pass up
actually yea, you can choose either dual wield or shield/2h in base sentinel
that would be so fun
Exactly that’s what o thought it was
gimme 2h/1h dual wield 😄
its probably a balancing nightmare though for every single 2h/shield unique they release
fg at least narrows it down a bit
it also doesn't include staffs
but every other 2h right
Or if they had each spec acces to use a specific one
well if VC is still limited to axes and swords, then whatever
can't forget that one silly sceptre c:<
They g out this electrify spear that I’m never using
Since I’m not dropping a shield
It would be funny if that was the entire tooltip. You just.. have less. It's a philosophical statement.
silly sceptre isn't 2h, doesn't count 😄

I wish I could use a two hander with FMM and an offhand sword
mike teased the full node!
20% less dmg jesus christ
I mean 2h have like double the stats
yea but you are getting defenses for it
shiel offhand
not like another weapon offhand
Still more dmg than a 1h
and here I thought FG had issues with dealing damage
its not about that, you are not doing more dmg ( if you only look at gear) with or without shield
so this is basically 2h with 20% less
baseline
dont hate on FMM.
ironglass shield + two hander > just a two hander
Did you think they would give you 2h and shield and call to a day
yes
no, but reduced as and 20% LESS dmg is insane
Lol
0.8 of a two hander is still like 1.6 of a one hander
I’d take that every time
and there are just some builds and passive nodes that need a shield/two hander
You need to reduce that even more because you also have less speed
so you are basically just looking at big bonk builds
I'm using smelters wrath I'm already slow
anything /Second base is gonna feel horendous
Closer to 0.72 of a 2hander
which is still better than a one hander
i think the biggest thing to remember is that "class defining" node should not be equal to "class required" node
I am less excited to play it now
If there was no downside, 2h+shield would be "required" to play with
its not for every FG build, for sure
dual wield beats it handily
in terms of damage yea
Assuming you want shields
dual wield gives you a 9% more damage taken penalty right? on top of the loss of the slot for the shield
so the 2h+shield warpath is not gonna happen witht hat lol, i dont see the numbers adding up, its already starving for dmg
I thought that would be good for Minions, but it will suck hard for them
Use skills that don’t care abo it speed
Because you dont use a 1h+shield for FW
ima use event horizon and embrace the giga slow strat
Arena Build
beefy and big dmg and I don't have to move
Like healing hands spin doesn’t care
you wanna play tower defense game right? 😄
just wait for them to come to you and bonk
they need to give you a vacuum skill
rive already does that
thats already in the game
think the threshold bonus is new right
no
thats been there
so mike is trolling
ye
looks like the only change is it moved 5 points to the right
kek
used to require 30 points, now its in the 35 column
oh true
big change
im not sure if thats worthy of a spoiler
There goes my forged weapons build, turned to dust 😔
Are sentinel builds typically tanky?
they sure would like to be 🤡
they are going towards the more tanky side with the next patch, currently its very situational
Gotcha, as someone who will be new, I feel a inherently tanky build will be the way to go
They can start with doing something about attunement
how much hp is good for a non ward build ?
depends on your dmg mitigation layers on top of hp and sustain, if you have block or not etc
you should be looking towards 4k VERY roughly +/-1k
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/AKYlxgvB i want to aim for something like this next season

a fellow leviathan enjoyer, feelsgoodman
you want to slap some endurance on if you go hp based
flat or % ?
i could just change the armor blesssing to endurance
i would be around 50% with that depends on the roll
guess that works
hope hp regen with healing hands will feel good
i think hp regen is getting buffed
It is indeed
those buffs need to be huge to make it worth though if you gonna sacrifice that many affixes for it
Quite excited for the Hybrid Hp/Regen affix
Buffing regen is buffing vessels
It's getting nerfed to compensate
Did they say that?
i asked mike if fissure converts with smite now and he said he thinks it does 🫣
Yup
Makes me think they accidentially showed the wrong node maybe? 😛
No, it's because it's moving from 30pts to 35 pts
But it is weird to leak that? 😛
Or it is a hint that something else new came into place?
🤷
Aside from that, I am in doubt between Electrify or Time Rot themed season start!
(both obviously, but not at the same time) 😄
honestly, leviathan carver is just an old unique, and doesn't really hold its own. From a dps perpective, it's pretty terrible
the 0.76 base attack speed really kills it
Leviathan Carver ?
yes, sorry
the item could be good if it either had a better attack speed or wasn't lvl 90 for LP
Will divine bolt/smite pala still be viable? Any changes to those nodes?
Hard to say
if anything its getting buffed no?
Well it's loosing VR
arent they flat buffing everything to compensate
just slam the carver with T7 IAS
easy
We don't really know how much everything is getting buffed
So far, all we know is some skills getting a powerfull node rework
hope everything works and nothing is borked
well anyways, anyone who wasnt using vr is probably net positive on the changes
arent we all running vr one way or another tho
i refuse to use it, maybe thats why my builds are undercooked
but season 2 gonna slap even harder now, it was all a longterm scheme
we saw the smite crit chance node in the pinned images, lost the cast speed reduction compared to current
wonder if they're going to buff shield bash? it was a huge disappointment.
I had some old shieldbash stuff somewhere, absolutely the tankiest character I've ever seen. DPS is whack early on but with enough gear you just walk through any corruption and slap it until its cooked
something along these lines https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/Qq7ZmY5o
:white_check_mark: This character build is verified

DPS: 10k. still gets 1shot by abberoth or die to dot in 1 sec if he gets hit within the 15 minutes it takes to kill abberoth.
Few things can facetank abby xD unless ure a rogue I guess, then you just dodge it all
yep, no point in being forge guard really. and with the double downside shield node, it's going to still be mediocre. why does egh hate forgeguard so much?
I think maybe 10% less dps, or 10% attack speed or 10% increased dmg taken would be ok.
You mean triple downside right? Movement speed is much harder to get than block chance
oh yea forgot about that lol
yea, what are they smoking? i'm pretty sure i won't be the only one to complain about this.
but if nobody complains, that just means they gave up on it and all went heartseeker.
Honestly, that was the 1 thing not to do. Reduce ms.
i would be fine with a tank build that has no DPS if it could actually tank and not get 1 shot or die to DOT in 1 sec. but no, it still gets 1 shot and die to dot in 1 sec.
They probabaly saw how brainless it was in Poe 2 and didn’t want that to happen
oooof that's steep
Luckily this is an arpg lol If you throw enough gear at it it's gonna be somewhat viable. FG can't be a falconer but you can go make a coffee on 500 cor Lagon and come back np
not when it matters
20% less dmg is awful :p dafuq
+10% less attack speed. wtf are they afraid of?
not like not having downsides would suddenly make forgeguard even top 10 build on the ladder
i am pretty sure its fairly balanced for the few "meta" builds this enables, but everything else is not even worth considering with those downsides
having a two handed weapon + shield is basically 3 one handers worth of stats
idk if it's worth it for anything at all with that penalty
it'll take some serious thonking
with the debuff its in line with most things
stats can't make up for those ridiculous penalties. hell, even 15 passive points won't make up for those penalties.
i trust them enough that it probably makes sense for the strong options
but if you want to experiment with wonky stuff this is just not playable
It’s a defensive node
a useless node
Okay then don’t use it
i won't. im just complaining that FG will still remain mediocre.
you wont succeed/win by being defensive though, it only lets you fail slower
so majorly deminishing your offensive capabilities for defensive is very rarely worth it
If it gave less stats from the equipped 2h or something it could be more manageable, but it's 20% less of all your stats in your entire build
yea
30% less. don't forget attack speed
attack speed debuff doesnt do much for big onehit builds
I mean i would totally understand the nerf, if it was DUAL WIELDING 2H weapons. but it's not.
I dont disagree thats its a massive downside but theres 0 way your gonna get a twohander + shield without a massive downside
28% less dps on most builds, including all minion builds
a bit?
im exaggerating
an iron glass shield with a block chance shard is still like 55%
and unique shields that are worth anything will never get more than 2 affixes
ah
The damage reduction isn't even the downside. You go from 1h to 2h and can benefit from all the shield and 2h nodes at the same time. The real downside is no haste
haste is situational and only 1 second anyway, worthless.
It might come ahead a little on bleed since flayer contributes damage? Especially on one that doesn't scale with attack speed really
u can make it 4s + inc effect
i mean, that is a fair point, have we considered all 2h and shield nodes on top of each other?
but yh its a pain in the rear
after all its a first iterration of a major "balance" change and they have put alot of thought into it
maybe we are judging too early
still sounds awful though
nah fam, after shield bash, i already know what's up
sentinels get screwed, other classes get buffs. that's how it's always worked.
its not there for every build. but its more than viable on certain builds
Where we expecting something different?
but if you only care about dmg, then yea
fg barely has any to begin with, it needs all it can get.
thats my point, it would have been nice if we could make it work on less optimized/meta builds
but the downsides are so massive
you cant play "bad" builds with this
Void cleave with shield as well
I just don't think going from 1h -> 2h is really 39% more dps for most builds. Seems like the only use case for the 2h+shield node is for things that don't scale with attack speed where they only need to gain 25% more dps from swapping to 2h.
it's already not available to paladin or VK, so why is the downside so bad? i'd understand it if VK and pali were able to access it. but they don't.
you cant/arent playing bad builds anyways. and its not like yall have all the info yet either
like, from the whole patch
i don't got my hopes up honestly.
didn't even 'leak' anything good for FG, but leaked good things for other classes. not a great pattern.
I was honestly expecting a downside that didn't affect your minions or didn't affect them as harshly, it just seems really weird to me this way since it appears kinda useless for FG minions
yea its not great for minions
but isnt that a major part of fg
time to make a screen wide smelters wrath with world splitter and horn shield
its a major part of a part of FG. yes.
you can play FG without minions
Same. I was expecting something like you have less attack speed or damage, but as is this just cripples my forged weapons build
the only thing i honestly see this being good for is a rebuke build to try and survive a boss without killing it as long as possible.
yea i guess not everything has to work with everything
it doesnt
We'll see tho
Yeah, it might be good for some really niche setups where the combo of items you use have really good synergy... seems to be balanced around that rather than being something that's a viable option normally
oh yea smelters wrath. people just looove that skill i'm sure. charge up and hope u don't die or have to dodge.
yeah i wouldnt touch this with forged weapons. MA maybe cuz its gets a shield and a 2h as well...so there could be some stuff there
Well now you won’t die
apathy's maw + bulwark? void dmg fg?
Since you have a shield
i mean i did smelters before this perfectly fine. sure it was slow but it still did all content.
i think most people thought 2h+shield would be like dual wield, smth you can just use and make work in most builds
which is obviously not the case
I mean, you can just use 1h+shield if you want a shield, your FWs' dps will probably even be higher this way
it's got the downside of dual wielding 2h weapons.
eeeeeeh whatever, we'll see
it sounds fun enough to fool around with and try some stuff, even if its weak
numbers can always change
if you go to the marksman part of the discord, it's all positive. come here, and nobody cares about that new node. hmmm, something isn't right.
There’s been plenty of negative stuff over there too, see anything mentioning the new unique helmet for heart seeker and calling it dead already
Arpg players are inherently negative
i swear, if we ever get a barbarian class/mastery we will get dual wield 2H, quote me on that
forgot everything has to be super op on release with 0 theory crafting on the actual balance patch or else its just trash within 5 minutes of the teaser
Well yeah they get like a 1000 damage effectiveness super skill, we get an apple with a razor blade sticking out of it (I'm exaggerating for dramatic effect)
heartseeker looks broken to be fair ^^
u mean like heartseeker?
Most ppl are glazing heartseeker without even reading the nodes in some cases, I saw people misinterpreting the puncture spawning node already, not knowing that it’s behind the node that cancels the reseeking part of the skill
(Didn’t help that the dev also made this mistake on the stream)
you dont need to reseek if the whole screen explodes
dev also played on a lvl 100 toon in a lvl ten area. and people are running with tht
but yea ^^
...isn't that the point of turning the left over hits into punctures...?
3rd time's the charm
xD
Numerically, it seems really strong
There was a first?
Yea lol but some ppl were acting as though it would keep going at the same time
Crazy
we are being dramatic out of boredom at this point arent we 😛 its the delay cope
Eh, it's the shock value honestly
Correct
for me, it's just the disappointment of me not being wrong.
I haven’t seen anything to really counter the volatile dmg buff
thats because we didnt get patch notes yet
Yeah don’t believe they will 2x every skill
We aren’t gonna “see” any of those changes until game release probably, since it will all be in behind the scenes number changes
Yeah just seeing a 2x across the board seems unrealistic
Also would be overkill
we havent seen the passive tree either, im sure we get alot of "mastery" nodes added etc
i am pretty sure they've done the math ^^
I'll almost definitely start sentinel in S2, after the downside reveal for 2h+shield I think I'm mostly locked in on VK - but I'll wait until the planners are updated and see how all the changes shake out
oh look, an adult, how dare you sir, engulf yourself in rage like normal internet people !! (im joking relax guys)
As far as Eternal Form... I wonder why it has alt text now. Is it just going to explain the base effect of vitality?
funny you say that #👨┃ask-the-devs-not-support-no-bugs message
Yeah, only other thing I can think of is confirmation that the node isn't going away, but that's not much of a win lol
its been an odd teaser, thats for sure
Maybe it was a slip up tbh
Here's to hoping
maybe he accidentally pulled it up from the 1.1 patch notes.
I think usually Kain or someone from the team gives him the things to spoil
maybe whoever grabbed the screenshot accidentally grabbed the wrong node
or just looked through for cool nodes and picked one at random
Can’t be, since it has a change in it compared to live game currently
even if that change is just moving location on the passive tree
kek
that is actually quite neat
i have to admit there have been quite some dot aoes that nuked me when i tried to greed loot
guess i can take that stuff with me to the grave now
The real sentinel buff
Yeah unironically pretty cool, biggest thing is for those moments when you die after a boss fight, or right after a prophecy pops, or right after nemesis drops your loot
It’s a shame other classes won’t be able to experience it
That might be the thing they were talking about when they said they had something for prophecies popping on the boss before the harbinger spawns in
would love to know the range though
some boss arenas are fairly big
if you move from one side to the complete opposite will it still register
I have concerns of what is considered nearby xD If my whole screen is cluttered with prophecy loot how much of it is going to get safeported. 10%? 25%? 50%? aint no way it vacuums it all
I'm assuming prophecies are one of the main reasons the mechanic is being implemented, should be 100%
Technically all the prophecy loot drops in the same location, just that the text boxes for the loot spread across your screen
the little clip on stream shows all the items nearby getting moved, but the real question is the range on it
because if you're fighting a harbinger, there's a good chance you might have to move pretty far away at some point during the fight
but you have to pay to open it
welcome to le loot boxes
I love how EHG decided to give us 2handers in one hand slot as soon as PoE2 made it a thing with giants blood
When before I remember they were hesitant to even include it in LE for the longest time
mastery respec is the biggest backpeddle still
and then they gave it to the spec that doesn't need it 😂
#giveeverythingtoVK
FG-only was the right choice
It should've been available to all sentinel masteries imo
Having it being gatekept behind the worst mastery is unappealing
akshually
given you had a bug allowing for 2H in one hand for a very long time
LE had the two hander in one hand way before PoE
I heard that sentinel can use 2H in one hand with shield in 1.2. Does that include Staffs too?
just FG and its axes swords maces and spears
every twohander that isn't a staff works for it
It's 28% less damage in order to get a shield
still miles better than a one handed + shield
I was planning to start Electrify Javelin with Spear and this node, but it doesn't feel worth it for ailment stacking tbh
depend how you value a shield
I love Giants Grip!
For electrify you are better off on paladin anyway
is the world ready?
i never understood this node in fg
whats the point of dodge conversion on an armor class? has anyone ever built dodge on sentinel
maybe im missing smth
Javelin and Hammer Throw have Dex scaling ,+1 Dex = 4 Dodge = 4 Armor instead , 50 Dex = 50% Less Crit damage taken
ah i see that makes more sense
The Grey part is just the reminder what Dex does as its base
Shield Throw scales 4% increased Damage per Dex And Str , means you still get Armor and Attack if you have Dex
yea im cooking a shieldthrow build thats when i stumbled on this node, so it didnt make much sense
50 Str + 50 Str is 200% + 200% increased and 200 Base Armor from the Dex
Shield Throw Hit Crit ?
The real question is CD or not CD ? ^^
current version, yes
whats cd in this context
Cool Down
non cd
Have you seen the new nodes ?
yea thats why i wanted to go back to it and at least get my fg to 100
it will make much more sense after season 2 is out
what pasive i need to move hammers arround me when i run?
thanks
i was actually looking at a reflect dmg angle, you get insane amounts of flat
i could hasve sworn there is a set item with reflect, but i cant find it
maybe im remembering wrong
I dont think there is
that might have opened the door a bit, shame
even without that, you get flat dmg in the hundreds, crit is always capped, you get almost armor cap through steal
on paper its good
You would have to rely on bouncing on your Shields Minions for single target though
yea i just logged in on my shield throw guy, decently geared, but single target is a snooze fest
using manifest armor, it kinda works but still meh
but thats all getting changed
Thats why maybe cd version could be good, idk
Bounce on you is gated behind the cd node
I have a doubt, are echoes counting as you using a skill? For instance for jasper
99% sure it doesn't
id take most stuff at face value, if it says YOU casting it literally just means you, not your minions, shadows, echoes, whatever
in most cases its specified if it doesnt conform with whatever sounds intuitive
Well, for instance, wrath of the glade, "you" are casting the thorns but from the totem positions
not exactly intuitive
I can test that for you in an hour or so
thanks
IIRC, they won't count for getting stacks since the hit does not originate from you but the echo itself
They do inherit the stats of the echoed skill and yours as well though
alright, thanks
@waxen nymph what do we think about this
never tried it cause i think removing block is trolling yourself
but "more" sounds pretty insane
It's actually additive with the previous node
yea im using the previous one
So you deal 150% More Dmg per Block
But I don't know if I want to invest in Block and not being able to block
Could be really juicy with cd
shield bash has some interesting nodes, so i am running around with 190% block at times, thats an insane multiplier
Since you will able to block for a while
maybe with reworked health regen there is some room to work with here
LMAO! I only now noticed "Rygar", nice easter egg
Rygar is video game series from 80s, main character of which fights with throwable shield
Haste grants block INSTEAD of movement 😭
+10% block chance is a lot
I also plan to try some shield throw build, as usual. But for now I look into Sigeon's Reprisal + Sword Catcher combo. Main idea is to have max parry, a lot of HP and dmg mitigation as main source of survivability (in theory every third hit should heal me to full). Shield throw only for passive retaliation. But for now, have no idea how to handle big guys like Aberroth 😦 Other than that, I think even 500 corruption will eb possible with good gear
Any ideas on how to improve single target with such setup? Or I'm as always trying the impossible?)))
I'm actually curios if Titan Heart will work with 2h + shield)
only ehg with patchnotes can improve it, also i dont see why u cant cap block with new 2h node as long as u find haste generator
even on sigeon
sigils+ring of shiled+t7 slam+passives+blessing+2hnode
it will
I'm not worried about block chance cap. Pretty sure it's possible. I'm worried about having a chance to kill at least normal Abberoth) Last time I've tried this with similar tanky build, I just didn't have the damage to compensate lack of my skill on last stage))) It took me maybe 5-10 minutes to get him to 20% and then get oneshotted 😄
ok hear me out i just got a COOK
That's actually crazy!
u forget abt spamming shiled throw, you go sigeon+sword catcher, u go the crazy ricochet node the new on on shield throw, becuase it is gated behind cd node but sigeon will most likely ignore cd, and as main skill u use rive or multistrike or vengeance iron blades, idea is u go 2h melee JIGACHAD that spams shields out of it passively
I have also some ideas with the amulet to transfer void dmage to fire, and some passive that reduces fire damage taken a lot
And you cant kill a boss because they dont hit you fast enough ^^
That's my plan, but I'm still worried about the damage to bosses
sword catcher+rive or multistrike= set up for success
no way itll be low dps
But then you are planning on splitting your Dmg type ? Throw and Melee ?
Does it mean we are restricted to physical only type of damage or fire will be possible? Rive needs to be physical, right?
to scale both
well u are FG what kind of rive u can play lol
but ye i think multistrike would be way better
and itll give u more block effect so more dps for shields
for throwing dmg u only need to sacrifice flat dmg affixes since u dont need speed
And probably crit build too, hard to think about DoTs in this setup
yes crit
stack str,ez build
for idols just use all throwing crit multi since currently there is nothign for multistrike
Well, I'm pretty sure this is gonna be my starter. Basically this was something I wanted to try anyways) Just never played with multistrike or vengenace)
%Chance Additionnal Sword 😏
ok 2 4x1 sword and 2 3x1 throwing crit
then u also snapshot manifest armor
to have immortal tank taunter
That's too. I've already verified that parry works on FG minions))) 33% is crazy)
so skills will be like MA+multi+shieldthrow+ring of shields+sigils
MA snapshot is insane and can carry every melee sentinel to at least 1.5k cor imo people just dont abuse it now cause few know it
I have doubts about ring of shields reducing number of ricochets on the enemy, actually. Never managed to figure out how exactly these ricochets work
u can always drop it for shield bash or smth else
I know it for some time, but too lasy to abuse it) Also will need to think about how do that too) Too much brain work for me)
OK NEXT COOK
u go shield throw+bash
same with sigeon
and abuse shsiel bash to give all your procs +5 richotes
but u dont go 2h
Tried exactly this one last season. Basically the same kind of problem, other than that works just beautiful
wdym? u couldnt do good dmg on sheild bash???
send planner thats literally impossible
I'm prettu sure, I didn't go far enough to get good gear and try big bosses.
Don't remember honestly
u only play it when u get 1LP flat crit slammed axe
you could do void too. shield throw has an idol that converts to void, and rive will have a void version in 1.2.
Actually maybe it was another reason, maybe it was first hardcore character))) Was too afraid to die 😄 You can check the stats for SleePoker account. Shield character name. Definetely nto hte best gear
Yeah, pretty sure I just got bored or something) But it worked really good with some problems on bosses
how does this work with throwing attacks, lets say they have 20 cost but it's reduced to 0 through gear affixes
does it count how much it costs on paper or how much is consumed on usage
Never managed to figure out. My assumption consumed on usage
guess its the latter, since tooltip says 0 manacost as well
Check the Mana cost on the tooltip
yea ^^
it doesn't work on consumed mana, apparently judgement's pious offering doesn't work with it
Because if the other way around doesn't make sense, since there ways to increase cost of skill
Consumed =/= Mana Cost
#👨┃ask-the-devs-not-support-no-bugs message Mike to the rescue
so it does work
It works if the mana cost is not 0
You said you reduced the mana cost to 0 with affixes on gear
i see
could someone inform me of how large is the armour clad damage reduction area?
You need to have ST have a Mana Cost
so ideally it would be 1 mana cost after all gear
Whats the wording ?
Nearby ?
meh that bricks the whole no cd setup
yes, nearby
well, if one small missing % more multiplier bricks your setup, I'd argue it wasn't very good in the first place
? im talking bout the skill tree
Nearby is 6 meters (go the the dummies training ground, the circles around the single dummies is 6m)
In context of this passive and ST, I guess we have to usually choose between two options. You cast it directly without bonuses of Crushing Blows passive. Or cast indirectly with Sigeons and can go crazy in the skill tree 🙂
Thank you!
The cool thing is, that axe throw mana cost is increased by Shield breaker. So while Mike states that its only 4, you can make it 22
good point
https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/planner/i44hu0zg here ez planner
🤢 Maxroll Planner
best planner cause of this option
does -mana cost from skilltree also "not" apply to crushing blows
oh no, you definitely can't store another build for your manifest armor on LEtools. Oh wait 😄
Crushing Blow look at the final actual Mana Cost, the one shown in the tooltip
So from the skill tree will count
ya but itss annoying cause like my planners usually have 4 variations and copypasting everyhing and changing gear passive each time is tedious, in maxroll its couple clicks and all in one place
Just so ugly
I click my link for my MA variation, edit it, save it. it's a couple clicks 😛
All mana cost changes apply, regardless of whether or not you actually even pay the mana cost
Also MA Snapshot 🤢 🤢
(Note that crushing blows is very different from every other mana cost scaling thing we have afaik)
i snapshot it on my erasing strike too
its insane
can't wait for maxroll to introduce buffs. Maybe when I can see my stats with 20 stacks of ambition I'd give it a try
I am sure, but I dont think it should be in the game, and will be nuke one day (hopefully)
here's hoping that LEtools fixes their missing ones too (sigils of hope)
😏
20s ramp time is long though
oo, where is that
That's definitely a build I can recommend if you don't want to even try dodging anything))) The safest build played in LE) And it's not even close to perfect gear in the planner)
bummer, it also doesn't have sigils of hope 😄
kekekw
tbf they dont do much like on minmaxed build its 10% dmg at most, block is the real power of sigils
30 flat fire is more than 10%
there's also up to 125% increased (up to 200% void)
and in my case, up to 150% increased healing
sigils is pretty good 🙂
300% increased health regen with new health regen affixes is going to be something, 375 endurance treshold is also actually decent
only 200% in 1.2
On that note, if only we had a cold conversion for symbols
they beat us to it 😅
I feel like lightning conversion is missing in there
If they give a lot of juicy regen in sentinel to where it comes close at all to primalist, shattered lance could be viable
Yeah, branch off from ignite chance for conversion to lightning to go with the electrify theme
yes!
although both smite and javelin already convert ignite to electrify 🤔
but the flat fire isn't converted
damn VK getting all the good stuff
void sigils
but sparky boi pally gets one measly crit passive
are there more teasers 👮
Electrify is getting more stuff, too
There's electrify chance affix on chest and helm and they hinted at other passives for it
electric devo orb time
mostly locked to lightning-tagged skills though, which is probably why they don't give symbols a lightning conversion
that's static orb from mage 😄
which sucks for divine bolts and electrify HH
Yeah, that new focus amulet pretty much rules out lightning warpath
Yeah, but HH is good anyway since it's basically free spread for non-jav builds
well, what non-jav builds that use electrify are there? 😄
Melee
multistrike smite?
you mean the smite that spreads electrify itself via lightning smite that hits multiple targets?
Those electrifies can then each spread to all
and you'll be applying electrify with the melee hits you do, too
even if they aren't the best since we don't have a lightning melee (yet?)
Hold on .. Crushing Blows never worked with Pious Path ?
Pious Path ?
the mana pump node from judgement
Yeah , the Judgment node that lets it use % more mana for more Damage
Pious Offering ?
But no matter the name, no never
Tried searching, couldn't find an answer. Does Coup de Grace on Rive work against bosses?
Because Mana Cost is not Mana Consumed
Explains how my damage was somehow capped at 4 Million
Yes, no reason it should not
It does work with Judgment Mana Cost though
my understanding is that you have to take the urgent inquisition to make mana cost apply to pious offering
Nope
Pious Offering consume a portion of your Mana
Urgent Inquisition adds a flat 40 to the cost
2 different mechanic here
It specifically mentions you need it though...
but the way its written it seems like it only applies if you take it
Oo
It says Mana Cost on the bottom line
"its mana cost now count as mana consumed
Oo Oo Oo
counts towards i would say, not that it technically turn into just "mana consumed"
so you get dmg bonus for the 40 mana extra
Well, I stand corrected
Pious offering would be better if it read "per **current **mana consumed"
I always read the bottom line and trusted it, never bother with the text above, some times they are wrong
Its getting changed for Max Mana I believe
Yeah, obiously update the tooltip according the the new changes accordingly
It is two different mechanics.
"its mana cost now counts as mana consumed for the effect of the Pious Offering node" says that judgement's base mana cost is now counted for the purpose of calculating % more dmg multiplier from Pious Offering.
However, that has no bearing on the effect of Crushing Blows, which takes the skill's current mana cost and gives you a different % more dmg multiplier.
judgement's mana cost does change after you take Urgent Inquisition, so Crushing Blows will give you 55/2=27.5% more dmg multiplier (or less depending on how much your current mana cost of Judgement is)
hey all, does the devouring blade* passive work for minions? or is it only damage your character does?
Only you
ok thanks
Is it worth starting a new Sentinel? Or waiting for the rework? On the 17th?
I would wait personnaly but up to you
If you want to have a feel of the skill, and get the leveling done once to see where you are going
That's fair
I am playing Primalist in the mean time
I hope we're getting lightning/electrify conversion on more skills
skill screen from when karv showed sentinel gameplay seems to only indicate javelin and smite with lightning conversion which is a bit sad
Do you have it?
Does Shield Throw shows a Void Icon ?
Maybe there are some new conversion in idols
Since there is one for Shield Throw but it doesn't show here
healing hands needs lightning conversion 100%, symbols needs it asap
lightning/electrify conversion for shield throw would be very nice, I wouldn't mind using that on a cooldown paired with javelin
and agreed, I asked mike about healing hands and he didn't think it was going to happen
that doesnt even make sense, they want paladin to be lightning but give it no lightning
yeah, it's kinda crazy how little lightning support there is lol
void knight: all of their skills can be void
forge guard: all of their skills are physical/fire
paladin: best we can do is a bit of void and fire, sorry
yeah sigils being stronger for void than fire is insane
To be fair, they are saying electrify.
ok but they add a node that says electrify for lightning skills
funny part is healing hands does have electrify support in it, just not a conversion to allow it to work with the new affixes
I think the problem is that the skill itself isn't a damage skill, and the fire damage it does doesn't cause it to be a fire skill
It does become fire?
It "says" it has the tag, but unless they fixed that in a patch it didnt gain +levels from items that say +levels to fire skills
- levels absolutly works
ok well they must have fixed it, I played it when HH was first given a skill
forgot how unplayable sigils are without the ring
It's pretty manageable with the instant cast node and also on a high cast speed build
but we don't need to worry about that after 1.2
That's a bug tbf, item-only conversions do usually have an icon
I really badly want a lightning hammer throw. Along with the hammer chaining reworked and have lightning incentivize going down the chaining path.
We have +lightning dmg for hammer throw idols already, but no way to reasonably use them to live out our thor fantasy
hammer throw is converted to lightning
hammers have lightning lines going between them that hurt enemies
Well my vk, both paladins, and sorc killed aberoth. What should I do next? Looking for build suggestions
have you done infinite erasing strike vk?
I've never gotten world splitter lol
rip
Yeah my vk is warpath. That was a pita to kill a aberroth for me
understandable
I think symbols of hope will replace the old volatile reversal as a 'must have' skill for every build
not that I mind though, sentinels FREAKING NEED THAT
yeah
WE NEED A REASON TO NOT ABANDON SENTINEL
happy that the probably must have skill doesn't require heavy positioning
I do love sentinel but I'm kinda burned on the available builds. That's why I made a sorc. But once I got the uniques slammed it made me fall asleep lol
i played the hell out of all the other classes except sentinel, and especially forgeguard. i've always ditched sentinel after getting to around 80. but this next league i want to play sentinel more than the other classes.
I'll probably make another paladin next cycle. But I have to jump on the bandwagon and try out heartseeker. it just looks too cool not to
i'm going sentinel/forgeguard first this time around. if it's ass like I think it's going to be when i hit 80, i'm going to either swipe or heartseeker.
what's new with shield on vk? couldn't you always already do that?
soo coming back to last epoch for season 2, do you think sentinel will finally be able to be in the top dps like all those broken builds from rogue/acolyte/mage etc or nah still just normal gameplay
Forgotten knight set shield, 50% less void dmg taken on block
New vk node converts incoming ele dmg to void
i'm hopeful but not really
Basically 50% less void dmg taken on block becomes 25% less ele dmg taken on block
Electrify synergy is probably going to be pretty good
rough math
gotcha
so we are more tanky now but damage still low?
Time rot for raw damage is going to be better with the new node for it
that's what it seems like. sentinel will finally be as tanky as a mage, but not as dps-y.
But in general yeah using a shield means less dmg but more not die
Time Rot picks up a triple more multiplier node in the passives, gonna be exciting to see how far it can be pushed
Yea
That node is going to be doing a lot of heavy lifting
Unless there’s some un revealed way to up the time rot cap
so what build then works with this node since its going to be the carry
The way it was explained they don’t want to increase the cap for time rot and the mores are supposed to be its scalar
I was thinking shield throw + smite on throwing hit, using the forgotten knight set since it’s all about time rot dmg
Yea
this is as void knight yeh not forgeknight
Does shield throw have any decent more multis? I guess it's getting a big tree shakeup, I haven't been keeping tabs on it too much
Yeah
Great question
well if you happen to get a build guide up id really appreciate it closer to the date
Hammer throw can get the same multiplier as smite, pretty sure the double damage chance is still applying to ailments, and it's really effective at both single target and clear
Maybe I’ll just hard cast smite
is Maxroll good or nah
Really wouldn't even need smite I guess in that case, should be easy to cap stacks with hamemrs alone
Max roll guides are great starters
Tho most tend to have tweaks you can do to make it better
Javelin/smite/electrify was teased as being really synergetic
I wonder if the new devouring orb VR thing will work for timerot stacks?
The make them younger?
The combining node thing
The teleporting a bunch into one spot and exploding them all at once part
how well dorb can utilize that for time rot will determine if it's the boss dps or not
My extent of sentinel characters so far was playing self cast electrify smite and then rive Hh melee back in 1.0
I was meaning that more so in general as most vk builds will have a good amount of vitality for flat dmg and a good amount of increased void dmg
just slap auto dorb with the hollow orb shooty node for free damage
My comment was referring to the combining dorbs node, I probably should have been more specific lol
ah
dorb gaming
I’ll definitely try out the combining orbs thing, looks interesting
Nothing can be as painful as when I tried to make Falcon Fists cinder strike work lol
LOL
TRUE
you look at it and think oh wow this should be cool just like slam judgement paladin
but N O P E
the best part about the falcon fists is the part where you dont even use them for their intended purpose
instead you use them on Sentinel as a mini wings that isnt hard to get 4lp and has bonus melee fire that also affectsyour minions alongside the big AS boost
literally falcon fists are just a better wing guards
ive used falcon fists on WAY too many builds now purely for the AS and melee fire and the fact its crazy easy to get 3/4lp on em
it reminds me of meteor belt back when it had flat crit and people used the belt purely for the crit
and now phantom grip rings exist, which ALSO have flat crit, but i guess ehg don't bat an eye at that

On one hand it’s peak arpg to use something for not its intended purpose
On the other hand its intended purpose should work
I think it's more of a cinder strike issue than falcon fist
If cinder strike was a decent skill, the unarmed approach would probably work fine
it is a decent skill
ive made 3 hilariously op builds with its current rendition
i hope to make many more stupid crap with lots of dumb skills people view as bad as more and more new uniques come out
i will admit, i tried SO HARD to make tempest whatever it was called work, and even i couldnt make it work before its rework
don't worry, everyone else is doing the same to sentinel uniques haha
oh im sure
mage spellblade with 2h sentinel uniques goes brrr
also, you know, hands of judgement
"free" T7 attunement affix that you can stack with another attunement affix while being lvl 16 LPL
when I first looked at cinder strike, I was like "where damage?" 😄 very different from my first look at judgement
I'm just hoping Vk will do some crazy shit for once
Sorry, but how? I've genuinely tried in multiple different ways, and no matter what it just doesn't do damage. I've tried crit hit, ignite, burning daggers, but they all can't keep up with even my basic fireball build
@scenic gyro
thats a sexy boi
I saw it on the ground, thought about your Warpath FG
how would you personaly approach crafting with this
i always go for the chaos gamble+seal, fail both of those and get sad
safest would be seal fire and have a good 4 stat item, but i never do that on potentialy bis items
probably imprint it in the weavers web before touching it for season 2 would be my guess
but not sure how good that entire system is gonna be
Tbh its going to rot in my stach
the fate of most items
i still have 0.9 double exalted items collecting dust somewhere cause those were insanely rare at that time
But if I were to craft it
-> Try seal the Fire Dmg
-> Add AS
-> Up Frailty
-> Chaos Stun
not a fan of base crit?
Well in that case we would be pairing with a Sword
And Warpath gives 10% Base already
fair enough
But thats a fair point, Base Crit would be nice too
the amount of phy pen mace gives through passives should be forbidden
YOLO rune of removal
straight to jail with you
I would as well, honestly
Ok fine, seal the fire damage then yolo removal for the frailty/stun chance
Probably removal twice, hoping to remove the fire and a suffix. Then seal crit craft AS and pen
But I have high standards 😄
Nah that’s a solid thing to go for on that mace
Solid boots
They are for my Primalist but 😄
🐦⬛ 🌩️ 🐦⬛🌩️ 🐦⬛🌩️ 🐦⬛🌩️ 🐦⬛🌩️
Finally got an Apathy's Maw to drop (I'm new) and got a Shattered Chains at the same time! 🤘
Welcome to the Melee Club
I was bored after getting all four of my characters to aberroth and killing him. I'm working on a stygian coal lich. I have to say it's kind of fun. It's not my favorite but mechanics are interesting
Lol dr3adful just released a LE vid. Even he is disappointed with the sentinel updates
Carn as well, he's not touching sentinel
Is there new info since the ghazzy interview?
Dread has been playing for years. He makes some good points but I don't think it's going to be all doom and gloom just yet
It'd be real funny if there's like 1 new passive that makes sentinel the best class ever, we just don't know it yet
On the other hand
most of the passives we have seen are pretty awesome, time rot and electrify both getting huge buffs, the 2H+Shield is great if you look at it from the perspective of upgrading from 1H+Shield (not so great if your perspective is from 2H+nothing)
The thing I would really dislike
is having a new round of "rework" on new classes/mastery every patch, making them the new FOTM and powercreeping the old masteries
which are then reworked the next patch, powercreeping again and again
if they did hit the brakes somehow on the sentinel rework, i'm fine with that
That's arpg's. D3, poe1, d4 are prime examples of seasons turning certain builds up and others down. My issue is variety and I'm hoping the reworks bring more variety to the game
As with all arpg games my biggest fear is when devs nerf a fun build into the ground and never fix it. I.E. uliana exploding palm from D3. After 1 season of s-tier it's solidly been D or F since
They can be reworking without powercreeping
I have to admit rn its not really the case
yeah, it's not like sentinel is getting a huge wave of buffs, it's losing like half its damage potential and lightly peppering it elsewhere
I will say for better or worse the devs atleast play the game. But that comes with it's own pit falls lol
does anyone theorycrafted a javelin build with Sierpin's Fractal Tree (dex stacking)?
I don't get it, don't you have the same effect inthe tree already?
what skills are you planning to use? I was thinking about lunge, healing hands, ring of shields or symbols of hope. i didn't decide yet which i want to use
Dex stacking may be good. Forge guard has some dex stacking passive nodes. I dont know what happens when you have more spears than enemies around. Does more spears can target same monster?
no shotgunning with the spears, only with siege barrage
So with siege barrage there is possibility of 7 spear shotgunning per attack?
no, just 3
3+2=5 spears with siege barrage, increased AOE means less overlap
spiked bombardment add 2?
So it will be a balancing act. To much dex means to much AOE meaning less single target
Javelin scales with aoe without aoe tag in skill scaling tags?
Oh right. It gives aoe tag
Does AoE actually increase the area the spears fall in? Usually area only increases damaging areas, so it would just be more overlap
When I tried, the spread also increased
so total area affected increased, but in single target, especially smaller enemies, less overlap
Very odd
Symbols, RoS, HH traversal,
Not sure for the last
would of expected the falling area to increase, but also the size of the spears that fall down to proportionally increase for the same overlap space
yeah the last one is mind boggling
It's locked behind lightning conversion and cost 4+ pts and increase the mana cost
Rebuke
why not smite as buff with idol - "Chance to cast Smite on hit with throwing attacks"?
Because there are Throwing Crit Multi idols
it's up to 26% so maybe just one idol is enough and we have idol rework in 1.2
Works out though? 😄
Smite would be extra hits to apply ailments with, attack speed, cleanse, healing. Its not that big.
hello just rolled a bleed paladin and I must say, pretty fun experience.
what I'm always wondering is how holy aura activation applies damage.
Does it snapshot the damage increase to all hammer i throw during the 4 seconds activation, and the hammer conserve the damage until expiration? or does it apply damage to the hammers that are already flying and the damage buff expires on everything at the end of aura active effect?
Hammer damage is calculated when thrown only, so it snapshots onto all hammers you throw in those 4s
Maybe Abyssal Echoes
Fat Armor Shred there
Agreed, but specced smite with rebuke on the bar is better than just specced rebuke imo, if you can give up an idol prefix or two
Oh yeah, not a bad pick. Nether coating is solid
Yeah, AE would be for nether coating, the armor shred will fall behind a smite idol
Manifest armor whirlwind + armor shred. Don't fight alone?
I am trying to brain storm a Shield Throw build with cooldown, and 2h+shield but I can't think of a good 2h that would do anything for Shield Throw
I thought of Torkefin + Flayer Pride for a Bleed version
I was thinking vulcanos with the fire version could be a thing
But Torkefin is more for Melee Hit
Oo
Dreamthorn for the Void Conversion
40%Pen
Up to 20%'block
Yeah, 2h bleed stuff is more focused on melee unfortunately
Leviathan Carver could be nice
str stacker and maybe youc an slap a good champ/set affix on it
Cant wait for the patch notes, i want to make a javadin build
It does get Bleed Chance per Phys Res on Throwing Attack, but you miss the bleed chance on the weapon
Would require a slam
Torch of the Pontifex for an ignite version ?
Yeah
Black blade for a dex stacking void version?
I had the thought to run that on disintegrating hammers a while back, could work here maybe also
Actually might run black blade on VK time rot, I just realized that's a ton of TR chance lol
I think you'd lose a lot of damage on this compared to firestarter
Hum probably
hard to use a 2h on VK TR because then you lose out on that sexy set bonus for more TR damage
Set viable 🦆❤️a dream come true
50 void pen and 36% more damage for the set seems crazy good
now that you can put those on real items
Depends what you are doing with TR, if you go for 12 application on a single hit, then set might not even be the play
why not? the set is just pure damage stats
Yeah, we'll see how it goes
Black blade can give way more void pen than the set
Cant have generic timerot during down time ( if you need to say, cast fire smite to regain mana)
and also you can use VC with black blade
(though VR might be BiS anyway, no clue what it will have)
guys, im at endgame with void knight
what are some good/fun builds
true the funny bone club becomes super interesting with it
if you entirely ignore the bleed chance on this one, the bleed duration applies to any kind of bleed
If only nemesis bases existed
Theres also Radiant Axe, Avenged Raptor Spear and Deicide Lance
for the other two handers that have a not just melee implicit
my pain trying to get the sceptre for void wizard
but flayers pride + Avenged Great Macuahuitl is probably a solid start
Yeah, though Torkrefin is still a solid option since you can get a good amount of bleed pen + chance from it
even for throwing attacks
yea
114% increased fire damage over time
100% of bleed chance converted to ignite chance
we chance?
or did "ignite chance" get wrapped down to the next line
Looks like its on a second line
looking closer yeah that seems like a T
I wonder if theres something extra on the wording of that line then cause only chance gets wrapped on hubris
Ok, Ill frame by frame the teaser
maybe they'll add that affix in the future 🙃
it probably scales based on affix tier, but yeah that's quite low
Problem 114% Fire Dot is already quite high
Sure we need to see how that scale but I am a bit worried now ^^
I was excited 3 minutes ago
AMPIO
Shame its on a Primalist relic
Would have been nice for the new paladin electrify node
I think the one shown is 47%
I'd bet at T7 it scales up to 100%, at least on a 2h
Imagine if it scales up to like 140%
Caps at 100%, chance over does nothing except let you roll a perfect roll easier
I'm guessing it might look like crit avoid, but maybe only T7 is 100%-100%:
idk
