lol, no
if your a new player, making your own build, mono campaign(? first time you fight him) aberroth is gonna be a LONG fight
long fights are fine, well reasonably long fights, but mileage is gonna vary on that one.
yea
which one is that again?
I have a really poor time remembering bosses in arpgs because they just don't stick around for that long
aberroth is the pinnacle boss
the big ass void guy
While like, Ornstien and Smores is permanently ingrained in my head
ah okay I haven't fought him yet lmao
beat up all the harbys
his fight looks interesting
and I'll probably run into the same exact issue as all the other bosses
"Die a bunch figuring out which mechanics I can ignore, and which oneshot me"
we love paladin
Though. . . this was only relevant against Squidboy's monolith boss fight, and the first harbinger I killed
Everything else was "Afk hold mouse 1 down"
been playing void knight for a few days now and i feel like im doing something wrong, looking for anything really
now it may be because im still levelling up, but i feel like i only end up using 2 skills, maybe 3 and neglect the others.
there just doesn't feel like a need to use more than that so far, is there a build or rotation at endgame where you do end up using the full set of hotbar keys ?
Nope, that's Last Epoch
Juice one damage skill through the roof, everything else languishes
I can't say I'm really surprised either. It's just a function of how ARPGs work.
PoE2 is trying to do something about that, but it's having a massive identity crisis at the moment where skill combos are how you clear the campaign, but one button builds are how you survive and grind the end-game
mm alright
well i appreciate the insight, at least im not doing anything inherently wrong
a lot of the time, extra skills are automated by equipment or other skills themselves. sentinel and sorcerer are probably the worst at integrating skills together so you end up using only 1-2 skills. rogue, primalist and acolyte are all good at using many skills together. the other 2 mage masteries are also decent at it.
Anyone doing VK hammerdin?
Which one ?
Proccing Smite or the Void DoT Hammer Throw ?
Proccing smite
Im at warpath rn, what would i need to swap over to it?
At least 3 Smite on Throwing Hit idols
So until then dont swap to smite?
You can probably do 2
But yeah until you get some, don't do it
Smite is your main skill. So if you can't procc it, you do no dmg
Alright ty
any other uniques i need or smth like that? to farm them until then
A lp Mad Ladle
Devotion is also a good amulet
If you go Shield, the Void Shield is great.
If you go DW, Blade of the Forgotten Knight (I know... A set item!) or an exalted Katana
mace wouldn't work with smite right?
cuz its 2H as well
i have a lp2 ladle
might be poopy
That Mace has nothing to do with Spell or Throwing Attack
Hammer smite used to be viable before the idols got buffed and the max you could get was 24%, Now a single idol can get 25%. You don't need 3, infact, I am pretty sure hammer smite hits the smite cap (not shown in game, 10 per 2 seconds) with just 1 while clearing and caps with 2 on bosses.
Oh i just got 2 of those idols ;D
This one right?
tho is it viable with my items, thats the real question ;D
Now you want Mad Ladle and stsvk Vitality for the Flat Dmg
bad thing is, i dont have + to smite shards
for body
+Smite is on relic though
eh?
oh.
am stoopid xD
ty lol
is this good for the build?
cuz i dont have a t6 vitality helm yet
Not a big fan of Peak on a VK
Leech is your main sustain
Also Leonine Greathelm exist and will fix you Crit Mitigation right away
just swapped into VK hammerdin, lets see

any idea what to do?
Skygula is probably right, and you can use only 1 or 2 Smite Idols
Imo there are more important stuff to get before that
Your Gloves are not great
Relic good base but mid affixes
im using 3 of them right now, should i swap one out?
One or 2 should be enough
I haven't played it since the change
Also you want leech in Anomaly, not the Void Dmg Taken
if you go 2 smite idols, the question is, do you take 4 of the 3 wide idols with vitality, or 4 of the 3 high idols with smite damage 🤔
im gonna get on my falconer to farm for Witch's wrongwarp and ravenous void/mercual razorfall
mercurial*
https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/build-guides/smite-hammer-throw-void-knight-guide is this a good guide or should i look at someone else/
?
Sound decent but there some stuff I don't agree with
Like the boots
Or Wrongwarp (on this one I would need to make the math to see what is more dps between this and Mad Ladle)
Also the Inc Dmg in Anomaly (I would rather have Leech)
then what to farm instead of warp?
Mad Ladle
What about the gloves?
They are super rare, but quite strong
I think Anomalies damage taken vs leech is a matter of are you farming? Then the speed of damage taken should be really good to nuke mages/nemesis/bosses. Are you pushing corruption? Then the leech will allow for more mistakes.
I don't push but I make a lot of Mistakes 🤣😅
I personally feel that anomalies damage taken is in the same spot as VR for VK
(minus the jank ofc)
Problem is (to me at least) you need to aim Anomaly
And since Anomaly is on numlock when I use it
It's kinda hard
That's why I always take all the bubble goodies
Yeah, if you are autocasting then go for max bubble efficiency
But before you get thoses, a good pair of exalted will be amazing
Throwing Speed + Crit + Hp + %Hp
How is armor shred solved in this build? Gloves might be a good spot for that as well
You can get a bit in Hammer Throw tree
how do i make my game show wands? i havent seen even one in like 5 monos ;D
the only wand i've seen was ladle and thats about it
Change your loot filter
yeah i have that
see the thing is, im not good at making filters lol
my filter is off of le planner
Maxroll probably has one, no?
Also you might not have droped any ex-wand
It happens
You are a Sentinel so you don't see has many wands as mage or Acolyte
any you recommend?
If you really want, I believe there is a Wand Drop blessing
Is there not one with the build?
I believe they tend to provide one for each build
Uuhh i haven't seen one
oh nvm
yeah i said oh nvm xD
but ye rn i have no better gloves sadgely
@waxen nymph should i put crit on this?
Any hammerdin here?
need build help?
Yeah, i was wondering what i'd need on my ladle besides spell crit
that really depends on the rest of your gear,
like %increased can help, chance to apply an aliment could help, damage pen, etc.
For ladle, you'd really want some increased damage since you'll be lacking in that department
When you convert smite's scaling to vit
Love your pp Engi
Is this any good?
vk smite
Exalted Throwing won't do much on a Spell Build
ah so again poopy, good to know
thanks I watched an ad for a shark anime girl in a gatcha game and got this hair for 2 months for freeeee
I look fabulous
I'm play Rive VK and feel stuck at mono 150. Is my only option to grind for 1~2 leg power and upgrade or am I missing something else?
Do you mind sharing your planner from letools?
But from that I can tell you not enough hp
yeah one sec let me figure that out
the only vk I use peak on is when I use shard of the shattered lance
I have a forge guard that can push 400 corr with half the health. You're probably missing sustain - You leaching good enough?

it seems like burst damages that are the problem
I would swap peak for a Leonine helmet, you dont seem to have your crit prevention in place, that should do it as well as give leech.
Additionally, you have way overcapped phys resist, you could swap out the blessing for increased armor.
yeah I'm working on blessings at the moment
Yeah I'd swap out phys blessing for armour%, and the health regen one for stun chance. Then swap the helmet for a good exalted since it's stopping you from leeching even though you have the world eater passive. That should up your survivability in melee a decent chunk
alright thanks for the help guys
don't forget about the blessing respec merchant
oh damn... yeah that would be smart lol
yeah shopping for a helm right now
Your main sustain mechanic is Leech
Peak on any life based build is weird. Life leech is like the best thing about life builds.
rive lets you leech with peak
it does but I think i'm just in an awkward transition in terms of gear progression
fair
not enough health/dmg probably to use peak
using any helmet that isn't leo is hard on sent
yeah it seems really good
tho if you can cap anti crit defense, apoyclapse helm is nice for rive vk
given rive gets to 80% echo chance so the fat dmg implict stays around
not bad;D
Good!
feels much better with helm change. thanks again guys
Hey, should i keep this or try to craft the vit one?
NO! keep the 475 armor, it is really good. 4 more vit is just 4 more spell damage it doesn't worth losing so much armor and life.
oh oke thanks
Wow ! That Augury Plate is super good
Nemesis was... kinda...very ... generous on this one 😄
(Running the conq ground aura judgement, so this is a very very very very nice one to get)
Could not believe it either tbh 😄
Which one would you guys use for Judgement - Conq Aura:
(The crit avoid would net me to 89%, so will have to find another source to fully be capped - yes I know it conflicts with the base :P)
I get so tired of trying to squeeze crit avoid/less crit dmg taken onto everything.
this has inspired me to make a low effort meme
@quiet hearth this meme is quickly becoming higher quality than I meant
welcome to my world
Im really hoping Rive will get the ability to add the fire tag, alongside the void tag
let it get both
Did they reveal vengeance could get the fire tag or did I dream that?
It's a good dream if it is one
I'm glad it seems like sent is finally getting some conversions for its attacks
yeah idk, that would be nice too
4th sentinel mastery when
that was "supposed" to be FG's thing, but it doesn't quite fit that
The apostate (reject the gods that all other sent masteries follow)
Pretty sure that's VK
I can see that but FG is too split between beef, minions, fire, throwing, dots, phys, crits
beef xD
FG is a thicc lad
actually the only "godly" sent mastery is pally
Herot support when
which is kinda funny since obviously we are going to kill his god
He should have thought of that before dropping loot
FG -> following the teachings of fire chicken (intro video shows sent working as a smith in solarium)
Paladin -> straight divine juice
Void knight -> literally took a portion of the void within himself. (I view the void as the divine magic of owobyss)
I read that as the divine magic of cowboys and was very confused for a moment
An apostate 4th mastery wouldn’t give any magic support (and might debuff any magic you try to do)
Nah, make the 4th a cold support one
That should be added to pally
only if they lose bleed support
Doesn’t fg also have bleed support
A bit, I would move paladins over to FG honestly
Then again a pure phys mastery would probably yoink all the bleed support
Yeah, it's weird that pally has better bleed support than FG
Just saying
Ye
That item is why I call the reject the divine magic mastery idea the apostate
It's a VK themed item
the void is like the opposite of divine magic... er well maybe necrotic is
yes and I think its wrong to be a vk themed item, given half of VK is spells (and it turns off leech)
yeah, but only if you cast spells
Need a Smite node that is like, Lagon's Paragon, where it's now just a massive CD nuke
I view necrotic as the inversion of life magic
which again, using supportive spells is a significant portion of what makes VK, VK
a VK that doesn't use spells could be themed as literally anything else and work. the void + time magic spells is what makes VK different
It's literally the inversion of divine magic, it's basically how they used the power taken from killing all the divine era's gods
to make the immortal bois
is this about necroctic or void ^
necrotic
because I do also think that
or followers of
had a hand in making the immortal empire
no, they destroy the empire
Im looking at skills and Im like, I cant wait for them to make a 2h that converts void cleaves aura to fire just to annoy me I cant have it instant and converted.
void gang wants to end the world because
didn't want it made in the first place -> divine era gods are too strong -> lets set up events to kill the gods -> people are still to strong -> lets get everyone to be skeletons -> skeletons go insane -> ez void dub
Heorot kinda inadvertently had a hand in it though, it's thanks to his lance that kills and absorbs all the gods' power that the immortal empire was formed
yea
except for that one timeline where a big dragon just eats them all
Mortality's grasp is what made me think the void had a hand in the immortal empire
something convinced the early living necromancers to forsake being not undead
which then lead to them running out of souls and basically all going insane (for example, the lore notes in soul fire bastion)
and unlike the other eras (so far) the immortal empire is the only one to be on decline when we show up (not enough souls -> undead becoming mindless)
ruined era -> its already declined
divine era -> we cause the decline by killing gods
ancient era -> we probably kill all the dragons with the gods (which is a good-ish thing? given all humans are only safe in the temple of eterra)
big dragon timeline is a lil funny
mortality's grasp flavor text also implies that necromanctic magic is related to the nature of life (or knowing the nature of life is important to creating undead), which is why i view necrotic as being the inversion of life magic and not an inversion of divine magic
No it's real
I would say it might come baked in the conversion
I would love that
They have said they want to make conversion more intuitive. Like you would expect it to convert subskills and ailments
Well that's good news
Cant wait to get Void Spell Shield Throw
Im looking forward to a functional Smelter's Wrath
impossible
hi! is there any build for Forge guard that can reach 300 corruption ?
Rive + HH ❤️
Forged weapons is pretty easy to build. Just the set helmet + 2x phantom grip + a decent 2h can get you quite far since you get all your flat damage from void cleave
Smelters wrath reaching 300 corruption has nothign to do with skill, but rather a test of will
let sentinel waddle or something while charging smelters wrath
1k corr with 0 or 1lp uniques - doable?
Very build dependent
And also what’s your definition of doable
question about the "Torchbearer" skill in the Lunge tree. It says all sources of bleed become ignite. Does that mean globally or just from the skill?
No but you can look at some Gloves
like this
Too fast

No fairly common
Nah, they aren't rare, but they are at least mid level so you probably won't see them until late/after campaign
shield bash is also good. a little on the slow side, but very durable and satisfying to play if you are aiming for that super defensive juggernaut style.
thanks for the answers guys . Im gonna take a look, now im kinda following maxroll guides, but idk if there any other place where i can found good forge guard guides
ty
I made a Forge Guard this time around
going pure fire and ignite based AoE, hopefully it scales okay into the late game
it should
What skills are you using?
Atm, warpath, void cleave and forge strike. Still levelling so haven't decided on the last 2
But there's quite a lot of ignite/fire pen in those skill trees
No but there are some gloves
I havent heard such amount of copium in years or is there some leak that i missed
There has not been any teaser for this specifically but Mike said they are looking to make the conversion work in a more logical way ie converting subskills and nodes that apply ailment too
This for fire dorb? 😄
I wish there was a more kind of knightly duelist archetype for Sentinel
changing subject, what are the best passives for Forgeguard from the Sentinel tree?
🤞🤞
From the base Sentinel Tree?
yes
Green > generally very good, I would take them no matter what
Yellow > good, but depend if you build can use them
Special note for Stalwart > 1 pt is all I ever put in that node, because I want the block Chance.
thank you!
and in the Forge Guard tree, I'm guessing I eventually want the passive that increases fire and physical pen per x points of str?
What are playing?
Forge Strike, Hammer throw, Warpath (fire), Void Cleave (fire) and Smelters
though tbf I'm probably gonna use Rive at higher levels
Yeah, but Ignite FG doesn't really need them
I love them personally
but vitality
- regen
love it on FG
Because we have left our souls embrace the Void
By the way, this is a lot of "offensive" skills and almost no support skill
I would look into Sigils of Hope, Volatile Reversal
If you go Ignite, maybe Javelin + Smite
Why regen when you could leech
I have a loooot of leech
have both 👍
Thanks for the tips Vlad, I will look at swapping Hammer for sigils a bit later down the line
Hammer hasn't been amazing
so your maybe not dead to a dot after the enemy dies
leech 👍
If your feeling like your beefy rare/boss dmg is low I'd recommend swapping in volatile reversal
plus then you can do the sentinel rite of passage
No, you can't convert VR - it's just there for the damage taken debuffs to nearly triple your damage.
The Rite is using VR to teleport to your death.
VR is significantly more powerful, but it often feels not so fun to use
I am the kind of person that likes theme a lot
So if it doesn't fit into my forge father/fire dude theme then I would rather something else
As dumb as that might sound
MA is the same as always, it's strong in the right kind of build, not popular though due to playstyle
Nah, game is about having fun, do it however you like
thats not dumb at all
You port to a pool of death that was there 5s ago lol
Hmm guessing come rework... Palarus is gonna be a godsend.. cos void smite
Just that it doesn't scale vit
Rip
The renouncement passive gives smite vit scaling. The cool part being you can go fire smite with vit scaling.
Don't think that will survive the rework though.
is the rework in the next big update?
Yes !
rework or nerfwork lol we will see, very curious whats gonna happen with ailment builds on sentinel
bleed rive vk is gonna be gone
😭
yep we will see, imo if they cant make sentinel feel good and comparable to other classes in 5 years can just put away this game to the side for a quite awhile
sentinel be like: most of the skills suck....and even if they dont suck a lot of them lack boss damage....and even if the dont half of them are either clunky or have bad clear....and then if you wanna get as tanky as mages and druids u need op gear...and then even if u got op gear other classes with same level of gear are still more tanky
I hope multi strike and vengeance dont stay as true melee
and get a lil aoe zone like rive does
I also trust EHG to understand that removing the stupidly high more damage effect on VR does mean damage needs to be upped elsewhere
yes but they are chronically bad with math and numbers, we have several skills that can be played as crit or as bleed/ignite. would u trust that they can rebalance skill that was getting 60% more dmg in one variation and 180% in another?
no skill is going to be doing the same damage with VR not giving giga juice more damage and yeah no nothing is going to be perfect on the first patch of a rework
I do trust EHG that they will get it right, even if it takes a fix or 2
and wont just remove the damage from it and not give anything at all back
well the thing is that sentinel skills were doing subpar dmg even with fully juiced vr whats gonna happen after they remove it...doesnt look promising, but we will see
yeah
im 100% sure that they can 5x damage of smelters wrath for example and still less than 1% of playerbase would even test it out
😏
so damage aspect is very important but its only tip of the iceberg of sentinel issues
actually there was even proof of what i said cause in 1.1 SW was bugged and could two-three shot abberoth easily on budget, still nobody played it
I blame that on its animation is mid (at best) + its clunky to play
have u played poe2?
there is a skill flameblast on sorc there, that is exactly how SW should be
I am a fan of the big smacks
u channel and slowly move then boom whole screen explosion
I was thinking super charged slam but I'll look at flameblast (haven't done sorc yet)
*super charged slam in feel, not dmg, super charged slam got obliterated
oh right yeah flameblast
played that in poe1
ya but in poe2 u can move while channeling
ye
with ms penalty but still u arent stationary
we love pizza sticks
pizza totems ❤️
ye
why cant we have the same for sw in LE, would feel amazing
u supercharge big attack and get rewarded and penalized for it
I mean forge guard has been kinda mid for most of LE's history, I hope the sentinel spa day gets it to be good
not just fg but whole sent and true
also bets on fg racial being reworked in 1.2?

racial?
o mastery bonus perk
ya
yeah...
😦
my attempt at new FG passive bonus
- +15% armor effectiveness vs non physical damage (armor is 85% effective vs non-phys compared to the normal 70% effective)
- You gain a stack of Stalwart when you or your minions are hit. Stalwart grants 5% increased armor, lasts 10 seconds, and stacks up to 10 times.
Smelters Wrath feels super bad
They really need to make it so you can move while channeling
All of FG's skills outside of Forge Strike are kind of boring in their design
Makes it feel a bit undynamic
funny how you are like 4th person who suggested pretty much the same thing over 2 years
probably more than 4th since i dont track all the feedback
darn
people keep suggesting that stalwart should stack off of minions too?
not that part
The game's current primary control scheme doesn't really support this outside of the few weird ones like warpath
taste of every skil being mobile in poe2 makes it really hard to come back to le now
I feel like sentinel largely needs most of its passives and skill trees redone to modern standards... which is a pretty massive undertaking
*and around 30% of class specific affixes
yeah good point, a lot of the affixes are junk (though some are insanely good for some reason lol)
+20 physical damage with swords gaming
the bases obviously could use some work, too
doomer prediction of 1.2:passive tree buffed, overall skills nerfed due to lack vr, item afffixes untouched

This honestly wouldn't surprise me
leo helm > everything else
however, the new things that have been teased so far look fun so it'll probably another sentinel season for me regardless
Yeah, stuff like this 😂
extra stun threshold equal to 2.53% of your max health at max roll
For reference, your base stun threshold is 750 at level 100, so it's like a 33% boost if you don't have any other stun avoidance
ngl I kinda assumed it would do a little more
tho I always know that captian's ring got my back
Yeah, it's not amazing... but that base does also come with damage for your echoes, so it's at least not the only thing
yeah
the up to 130% increased echo damage is a lot
terror crown with its bonus vitality sadly has to compete with leo hat
I do feel like sentinel's stun avoid is slept on, like unflinching is a pretty nice passive
yeah, I haven't found a viable way to spec relentless
a pure phys rive i did a while ago did basically this
like, even if I need extra points to reach blademaster I'll always put it in one of the others
but honestly base sentinel feels too focused
its base passives do feel really well defined
like my points go into exactly the same passives in the same amounts with only very slight variation
*its very clear what you want to get based on build
yup, that's a better way to put it
like jugg -> armour clad -> valiant charge -> time and faith
if shield do 2 points to get the block chance
if VK get more vit, if DW grab the DW thing, if sword/axe invest a little more to get blademaster
axe throw if vortex pendant warpath smite
maybe put a point in the axe throw
I like how we can easily get that counterattack proc to have capped crit, but it's rarely used
imo Mage has the most interesting base tree
solid mix of raw stats and build enabling stuff
mage is kinda the same way imo, always get int and cast speed, but there are just a few points that don't have much value so those are a little more free
usually just go into health and mana tho
a straight up conversion in the base tree is always cool imo
Cool, but also you usually have to grab the conversion in their skill trees anyway to get nodes behind them, so I usually think of that as a leveling thing
fair
Rogue is an odd one out, I feel like I always end up spending a good chunk in the base passives there
rogue is a very juicey base tree
actually that node is good for frostbite because the volcanic orb nodes after the cold conversion does not actually help frostbite so it saves you an entire point
so that node does actually do something
and for volcanic orb 1 extra point is huge cause it sucks up points
volanic orb is a point vaccum
Yeah that's fair, this is why I use vague terms like "usually"
tbh for base sentinel, the two big changes I would want
- Aegis of Renewal (make me actually want to take this, 100% proc chance plz)
- Mail Breaker (make this be a big chance to apply armor shred per point, not increased dmg)
LB also doesn't have much behind the conversion, but maybe that's just because the "damage in a line" thing isn't popular and there's no real reson to run cold LB that I can think of
I used it on runemaster when I wanted a spammy ice skill but had converted frost claw

I'd probably use a different spell personally, but then again runemaster is not my favorite class lol
I want a way to craft the shattered lance set into a repaired version... and also some spear support in sentinel would be nice!
The lance never gets broken in the actual campaign (or if it does, it hasn't happened yet)
I'm just assuming Grael uses it and then founds the new empire with it
I don't think its gonna be Grael
It's heavily hinted that it's Grael, but I don't know if it's set up to be a twist or not
they could always pop in a twist where Grael is actually "for real" dead
my guess is that all four join up with the necromancer who becomes the immortal emperor cause the world kinda falls apart after we murder all the gods, but the immortal emperor is like a sneaky dude at this point so their being mislead
grael realizes this but the others don't + don't listen to him because they see stuff improving (harton isn't faithful at this point because of how Lagon acts, Zerrick is greedy)
Grael leads the rebels of his time -> his kid becomes the outcast queen
nah I think the Emperor is 100% the old dude in act 1. If you read his dialogue carefully he does not enjoy the current state of things. He also gets flung through time too. I can imagine a huge revenge plot based on him getting slung into the future with a very bad future, leading to him leaning into necromancy to stop the gods etc
you can find his notes in the archive as you go to the room with the 3 apprentices boss fight
he's the first in the position elder gaspar is in
ohhhhh ok
I did not know that
I actually dont click on all the little lore bits lmao
One of them (if I'm remembering correctly) mentions that he dies/is not long for this world and that the made the "fated holder" prophecy to inspire hope (also mentioned by the elder who is outside)
which is the player
or at least I think?
its been a minute since I looked at them
yeah I think it would be cool that the other dude who went through time with you was actually the emperor later but maybe its not
yea
now granted he could of faked his death? but given he built the last refuge and left the shard of the epoch there, idk how he would timetravel
yeah if he built the last refuge then I am wrong then
I say built? he mentions that he found a group of people hiding from the void and that their the descendants of his people
they probably had something before he showed up
but probably was more like rat city
yeah if theres lore talking about it, it means he got flung through time right before you
yeah if hes not it then its probably grael
my gut says that its someone in acolyte's backstory, not her official teacher as thats mage (unless that got changed)
yeah
tbh yeah
hates the gods 👍
has power 👍
some amount of magic 👍
only big thing is, aren't the gods/demigods immortal naturally? what caused him to turn to necromancy?
also anyone who becomes the immortal emperor needs some form of life extension/immortality pretty quickly cause divine era is -12 BE, but we show up in the imperial at 1005 AG
assuming the immortal emperor is like a powerful caster at 1 AG when the empire appears
to have an army vs rayeh
also this dude wanted to learn necromancy in the last archive
you cant just one man army things
true
summary of the first elders notes
- confused why only one shard came with him
- Finds survivors, uses his knowledge of the Keeper tunnels and ruins to hide from the void + start building the refuge
- Leaves the last refuge "as quickly as he came here"
- Leaves a note saying that he is gone and trusts his people
ok he didn't die while in the refuge, but he left the shard 1... shard 2 is also still in the temple and shard 3 is with us
did he just walk out and die fighting the void?
🤔
ah maybe he could have went back in time then with one of the shards and then became the emperor
cause maybe hes like im gonna end this shit myself
One note does say that action is more important than simply learning history
And he would know how to get the shard that grael was sent to get during act 1
cause if you read his dialogue hes like supremely angry off about everything
Yeah
and maybe he thinks like you are the one who gave into the void
and caused the apocolypse or something
since the 2nd shard didnt go with him
Does the puppet emperor recognize us after he realizes we’re not etera
no idea tbh
also the keepers would obviously know the soul magic thats used by the undead gang
I know puppet dude thinks we’re etera at first
so thats another thing
well the puppet emperor is there because he went to go raid Eterra's temple
if you read the subtext of why he would be there
also im sure you go back forward in time to deal with the emperor and he follows you to the temple or something
and you fight him and merc im
Him showing back up in the divine era would make sense why the divine era gang would side with him at first
But I can see him quickly becoming a control freak -> leads to immortal empire idea
well what actually happens
is you kill rayeh
then leave for the immortal timeline
and he pops in after and is like
And having the lance
he probably thinks your absurdly powerful and dangerous
just by having the shard and messing with time
lmao
imagine its just a whole misunderstanding
and he keeps finding himself right after your done
Tbh if it his him I want to see a skeleton dragonfly by the immortal emperor
or before
so theres definitely some subcontext with the alternate timelines
like its fated that someone learns necromancy eventually
cause it happens every timeline, where the dragon does it, or the shamans do etc
maybe in the end you realize changing the timeline literally does nothing so you go back to fix it at the start
Oh god
Thought
Etera is “sleeping” because she’s done doing her work on this timeline and moved to the next one
And
is just cleaning up what’s left behind
Like cleaning up a “finished” puzzle to make room for another
Each cycle is a different timeline
Honestly that’s the most realistic reason I’ve seen for going to the ancient era
Other than I guess trying to ask etera for help
Since ancient era chapter is right after the current one, I'm betting the oracle sends you back there
instead of to EoT like it currently does
oh true
we get yeeted back -> have to recharge the thing
tho I always thought it would be cool if we went through monos -> recharged the epoch -> got the end of the campaign as like a way to unlock a new pinnacle boss
That would be interesting, I figure that's a temporary plot point, but maybe it will be permanent, idk
something that also leads me to believe it's Grael is his weapon looks vaguely similar to the emperor's
he has motive, means, and opportunity
but I definitely won't mind if it's someone else as long as it's not just some random new character that comes out of nowhere
I really don't think its grael, owing to that he appears to know jack about intelligence based magic (a lot more in the attunement magic gang) + alt timeline grael does his duty and sides with Heorot despite not really wanting to
I can't really see him going skeletal lich
I can see it, though yeah necrotic stuff is usually int based it can apparently be attunement based as well since the only real difference is study vs 'whatever attunement peeps do', and absorbing the power from a lot of gods means you probably have a lot of power to tap into
fair
then again I guess the entire spirits of fire timeline is attunemnt gang doing necromancy
Also Grael seems to have been really close to Heorot and would probably have the best capability to tap into godly power like that, especially through one of Heorot's own relics
Heorot was his adoptive dad
The empire may not even start off with bad intentions
or there could be something innately bad about having that much power since it does seem to always turn out the same in every timeline
🤔
theres also the possibility that theres a time period of a bunch of different fractured kingdoms post all the gods dying (power vacuum)
and the immortal empire wins that because you can reinforce undead armies faster than living armies
Has anyone tried a Forge Strike Bleed build by stacking stun chance (converts to bleed)
yes, its very mediocre
got to 200k or so ticks on pinnacle boss with offline gear fully buffed
iirc the power the empire has is directly from the gods, which would make it hard to be anyone outside of our campaign group, but maybe I need to rerun campaign again, it has been a hot minute since I actually read the things
Wait the immortal emperor uses the divine power?
I thought it just said he killed the gods
This was a really interesting discussion to catch up on
Especially as I literally just finished a second run through of the campaign
Signs do point to it being Grael
Yulia asks you for the lance of heorot at the end of the Empire timeline
You don't have it but she thinks you do
The only thing that can specifically kill the IE is the lance
There's also this weird cut scene when you and Grael are venturing somewhere being buddies and it specifically makes a comment on that
Definitely seems like foreshadowing
But tbh I want to know wtf is going on with Apophis
She lets the void into the world and then leaves the timeline
It’s basically confirmed that she is the oracle in imperial mejesa
That’s leaving the farwood and traveling back to herobora
Beyond the void or the gods, yeah
well she chilled out a bit
guess she saw the error of her ways 😛
I mean probably being the cause of the end of the world and realizing how much you royally f-ed up tends to do that
what's more curious is how she isn't void tainted
like, she should be right? It's like the warp from 40k, you can't dabble with it without it corrupting you
I’m gonna go with the same logic as the void knights
Only if you give up hope
Oh
She’s letting the voices of all the other vessel maidens speak to her
Give up hope -> your easy to void corrupt
also where the hell is Eterra
she has to be alive if Ouroboryss is alive?
Given the void has big entropy vibes
That is probably learned in the unreleased part of the campaign in the ancient era
is the idea with the campaign for it to be finished in one update? or is it going to be more drip fed?
In the old roadmap, only a single chapter would be coming next (same as how Majasa's chapter was added standalone), so probably they'll come one at a time
there are 3 remaining chapters
For a total of 12, which is a wonderfully thematic number of chapters
And item factions' new max rank
Speaking of time rot, maybe a cool interaction to make it more viable would be "when time rot is applied to a target that already has the maximum stacks, all stacks of time rot are consumed and deal their damage immediately"
its like its a clock or something
that feels like someone I want for future strike in the timeline where future strike gets more support
like thats very future strike
Then it would kinda be like an infinite stacking ailment, and yeah it does feel future-strikey
my thought for it was when the first future strike activates, the rest of them also go off with it
so its like apply a bunch -> boom! -> apply a bunch -> boom!
with a dmg boost for each one that goes off together
I think future strike should just be reworked to something different, more like a shadow daggers or spark charge thing where it procs melee hit stuff rather than be a stacking ailment
):
but its the only infinitely stacking void dot rn
and in concept its cool as hell not working like other aliments
but if they do that thing above to time rot, then time rot would be pseudo-infinite stacks
though this is a neat idea too, we'd just need future strike support to exist then
tbh
they could make future strike get its own tree
to make it even more of an aliment special lad
and it works like holy aura where theres passive changes + you can activate it for something
Like torment?
probably
it would need to be attached to a skill like VR or something
nah
thats why I said like holy aura, kinda
make it a passive "aura-esc" thing thats all about sentinel becoming void corrupted
so its full of upsides with downsides
the main thing being you build up void corruption -> if it fills up all the way you explode or something, but the higher it stays the bigger the buff
Potentially do-able yeah, though I suspect they want more active things since they removed stances and whatnot
yea the balancing the corruption bar is the active part
which I do realize took like a minute to send
Yeah fair, it would definitely rely all on the execution of it
Any tips for this Electrify Javelin build I'm theory crafting?
Using healings hands as a traversal and to spread electrify

None
I recommend speccing this (smite is free when cast by the idols) and removing the points in spreading flames:
I also generally recommend using siege barrage, although the playstyle may not be as enjoyable
This is also a massive damage boost, generally well worth the point investment over the ignite chance and regen on heal stuff imo
A point or two here would likely help on single target, especially if you don't want to use siege barrage:
You could probably drop some defensive points from pally passives to get the 5- and 3-point thresholds at the start of FG's passives for some more block chance and bleed chance
also Armour Clad in the base sentinel passives should be maxed out
Bonus points for sacrifice because more dmg on the skill that applies the aliment applies to the aliment
Also with the buffed idols you only really need 2 or 3
I'd stop at 2 if I have near max rolls on them
trying to have 40% or more smite on throwing hit chance
this is one spot build wise where MG clean sweeps CoF imo
given both item factions get loot lizards
I would agree with this if they went with siege barrage, but right now they have jav as just a regular attack
near 100% proc chance is mandatory for single target damage without siege barrage imo
That doesn't scale the dot damage does it? I just wanna do as many stacks as I can lol
It does - at least it scales the DOTs from smite
since it's just generic "more damage" it applies to all damage, subskills, and ailments from smite
^^^^
Oh dang
Ya I don't love how siege barrage feels. I'm okay with suboptimal as long as its functional haha.
@turbid dome @alpine canopy @cobalt blade
I am catching up on the dev stream
Mike just said
The 2h + Shield node is FG exclusive
👍
any new sent leaks?
The teasers where art related. It was mentioned that some of the systems comming to 1.2 are similar to some systems in PoE2
thats not new reee we knew it for months
(they where working on it before poe2 released)
ripp ty
It wasn't definitive
I have been working under this assumption, glad I didn't start planning any 2h+shield VKs or pallies heh
This is what I want smelters wrath to be
you want smelters to take like 20 seconds to build up and use?
You activate it, and it just slowly builds up this aura that damages things around you, and yourself until finally it violently explodes.
that just sounds like a different skill than current smelters
You say that like it's a bad thing
Though in all fairness, I have no idea how good it might be if all those broken nodes actually worked
I enjoy the thematic idea of current smelters being a giant slow charge up swing
having it be a more passive in the background skill completely changes that
true
I think there's too much clashing with Forge Strike, which is already the giant smacky skill. I'd like to see something else in its place
giant smacky vs giant charge up smacky
fs also has the whole forged weapons part of it
make it a skill where as you smack people it is an aoe that even damages you, but each hit builds stacks until you pop
That sounds like a passive tree node
🤔
just the name, not like it should be a node
did u really just call forge strike a giant smacky skill 🤣
it hits like a wet noodle
it hits so bad that you actually do way more dmg on it if you go full ignite/bleed
I mean, compared to other sent skills it is a big smacky skill, it has 500% dmg eff and one of the best animations
dropping an anvil on someone is looney tunes
its one of the best bleeder skills and then you mix it with abyssal bleed pop
me just randomly wandering in here and then away again for months

Is there any uniques or anything to spread electrify?
I have a lightning javelin build but clearing can be a bit of a pain when enemies are spread out
On the healing hands tree
Interesting. Have you tried it?
I was hoping for something passive but that would probably be too OP
I guess you'd have to only use healing hands as a main clearing skill?
Then use javelin for single target
HH can proc of melee attacks, so it works better with electrify multistrike
Ohhhh thats cool
I'd need to proc axe throws via the Sentinel tree I guess so that I can get smite procs
Smite itself also has that thing that makes it strike nearby enemies
it's not spreading exactly, but it helps a lot on clearing
Yeah, this is great for AoE
Fair
Is it worth to put 1 point in Axe Thrower?
Javelin -> proc smite -> proc axe thrower -> procs smite again? I guess Javelin can also proc it too
Yes, for 1 pt you can get an extra Smite per second
Ya I'm hoping it will also help with clearing spread out enemies
I really wanted to use Divine Fury over Siege Barrage for Jav but its terrible for stacking electrify on a single target
In April you should be able to have both 😍
👀

I can't wait to see some skill trees to decide whether I am going Shield Throw or Javelin for 1.2
Why not both 😎
shadow wizard money gang
Because I am a filthy right click spam abuser
bind all your skill buttons to right click
chaos
I am very much looking at jav, but there are a lot of options that are looking fun
Smitepath 2.0, void edition (with Dorb)
don't forget damage skill anomaly
If it stays as is, for sure
more time waves nodes!
But I really don't want it to survive as is, that 100% void taken needs to deleted with VR
the funny part is people still mostly use anomaly for time bubble, not yeeting to the future or the damage taken node

So you know how leech ends when you reach full health?
I found that % current health drain effects prevent leech from actually bringing you to full health, which means rav aura potentially prevents your leech stacks from ending at full health
Yep
Not sure if healing would disrupt that or not, but just throwing it out there
Yea
It makes rav aura suddenly a lot better, or even like a sealed T1 health to ward glove affix if you're insane
I really hope javelin is going to be great. Love the looks of it
I have seen some build killing Aby and farming 500-600C with Jav already
And real Jav, not proccing Smite
Not the fastest for sure
Nah, it's just a nice way to say it's slow as fock
I wonder what they'll do to smelters
The axe throw portion of smelters can be fun if you get over 100 dex
Since 100 dex = 1000% more damage
And then you have stuff like void cleave adding 100 void to next source of throwing damage
Also
i never knew if this one actually applied to it or not
because of the way that axe throw node worked and how absolutely bugged it was
Well it should since axe volley has the Throw tag
😅😅
bugged af
last epoch bugs? nooooo the games released now, released games are never chock full of bugs!
Honestly I haven't encountered a bug in the last 3 months
Maybe it's because I haven't played in the last 3 months
I've just been encountering bugs for you (:
April is nearing! 😄
I don't know if this belongs here or somewhere else but I can share my build if needed...
Julra T4 ... the degen she drops after you time junp, is it normal it deals like giga much hp? Or is it not a DOT?
Unsure, according to my build in last epoch tools, estimated void damage taken dot ehp is 3.6k ... but it really feels like i can only be in there for max 2 seconds or even less, it lands, i barely get out in time. (If I am already moving)
So am I missing something?
https://www.lastepochtools.com/profile/Wieze/character/ConsecratedKitten
(I know the cold res is awkward together with Poison, still trying to find a replacement to migrate some of the fire/Phys to cold, as previously I did not have the Rahyeh shield)
(And poison never feels too dangerous when running around with a constant heal from Judgement - Conq Aura)
It seems to work fine currently, either way you can get the guaranteed crit on full charge or whatevs
Yeah it's normal for the puddles to hurt really badly. That's part of why I try not to let her ever swap eras, or if I do, only once so we fight in the divine era where I can destroy her lightning totems.
But then your dps needs to super high inT4? or can you skip those puddles somehow differently?
You can prevent her from swapping eras by being in the same era as her, she has a couple seconds delay after she casts cataclysm before she can swap - if you just swap back in that time, then no swap and no puddle.
Just be careful not to swap back before she finishes casting cataclysm, because that hurts
I know 😄
Damn, ok ok I will work on that timing, but damn that is a big game changer indeed
Thx!
Feels silly now, I have been playing since sooo long... 😛
And if you got tips on how to improve the build even further, also welcome! (aside from the crit avoid/res issue I mentioned though), as those I know. 😛
And as we are in Sentinel chat: Be careful not to switch time with Volatile Reversal - that will kill you with delay!
And yes, i do know about equipping a wand with spell dmg etc at bosses, as that improved dmg greatly, but reduces area!
Yeah learned that the hard way for sure, i make sure I stick around a bit around her before doing VR. 😄
Have you tested it fr? Cause previously neither base smelters wratg dmg effect, no more dmg per second of charging, nor more dmg at full charge applied to axes, literally no multipliers
They all seemed to apply except some certain ones
Are you talking her mega nuke if you dont time jump out of it?
I didn't do a serious test, but definitely remember crit chance of some sort applying
the axes are a true subskill of smelter's wrath (specifically, I think a subskill of the slam portion)
Oh the full charge 100% crit working from top left?
Yea i know that one works
But because of the dex node in forge guard that gives crit, i think back then i had tried to see if that works with it and it didnt
Instead of going top left in smelters and grabbing the free crit
But i mean, theres no reason not to grab it
Interesting, yeah I haven't tried that one yet
in theory it should work, but it might not be implemented normally
Points in smelters can pretty much be spent willy nilly
Thats what the mega nukes called? Cataclysm? The real fun is making a build that can facetank it
It does obscene amounts of damage, but you can facetank it
I think its actual name is "Catastrophic Implosion"
been a while since I've seen it, so the name blurs lol
I think they should buff its damage and make it a true one shot
Crit chance was always applying, the issue were all damage multipliers
The dex to damage multiplier always worked, at least for me, as well as any flats
I can test the damage multipliers... I'd say I should wait for 1.2 in case any big changes happen, but that might be hopium
But tbh even axes had property that they oneshot anything they touch i wouldnt play it
Clunky aoe, slow
U mean for 2.2?
I still hate that my tankiest build ive ever made was on rogue
They'll fix melee in 4.0
The tankies ive build was druid, max block 8k life 3k or smth endurance threshold
Stupid class
Mountain boots rogue, boss tank, sit there with 6k life and endurance covering the entire life pool
nah thats gonna happen in Last Epoch 2, but in the act of doing so their gonna make ranged builds even better than the new melee builds
4.0 is last epoch 4 lol
Which realistically we will never see

Dang, LE 2 is like 10 years out
Depends on how they feel like numbering, not sure if they are using any particular industry standard
Have you or Misha submitted any IGBRs for these, or posts in the Discord listing them? I'll go see if this is on the teams radar 🙂
@winter copper ^^
I don't remember any working wrongly, but I didn't test it thoroughly. Well, the axe tooltip saying it scales with dex is a typo that I didn't report. 😅
I can at least check on that haha
the testing we did was around a year ago or so, thats why i was asking toast, we can test more if we have time and file the report again
Trying to build a ssf hc Minion Sentinel, and wanna use forged weapons and manifest armor. Which things synergize well here, I guess I want the armor to also have my mainhand weapon, as well as whirlwind strike for some AOE as its base dmg autoattacking seems really meh?
Or is the armor only really useful with the throw shield skill combined?
It's really really good with Shield Throw
was thinking about trying to get back in here, but I saw there's sentinel changes coming? Should I not try and finish my 2h Melee Paladin until then?
April will bring a lot of change to Sentinel. Personally I am waiting.
It’s not a rework but their updating a LOT with sentinel, I’d say play it now and then in a few months when it comes out play it again

I think I'll do online now, because I did offline at launch
and I don't plan on doing cycles
Update is still three months away, more than enough time to play whatever you want
and tbh even with a normal length cycle you have more than enough time to play casually and still finish a build or two
casually in this instance is like under 8 hours played a week
are there any basic attacks for sentinel that can be tagged for fire instead of physical or void? I think I used rive before, but it doesn't look like it has a fire skill node
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by basic attack, but some skills that can be spammable fire melee are healing hands, warpath, shield bash, and forge strike
There will be at least one more coming with the next update (vengeance, and I don't remember if others were teased yet)
doesn't flamedrinker give rive the fire tag (not converted tho)
cause I think thats the entire base of draven's triple dot build with the ruby fang set
It shouldn't, but idk if it's bugged to add a tag
@quiet hearth how do you get a spammy fire skill for the rubyfang set on your triple dot build, isn't it rive with flamedrinker?
I know theres some spammy fire skill that he was using
LE Tools seems to think it does not add the tag, and it is almost never wrong on stuff
🤔
I guess I meant "skills that cost 0 mana"
Hm, then I guess remove forge strike and shield bash from that list and add smite and shield throw
Heh, well that one can't be fire tagged
maybe not fire tagged, but I can just stack melee fire damage and that scales with fire damage stuff

I'll play around, I had a healing hands build before offline that I had fun with, but willing to experiment
the goal is, greatsword melee paladin in the end.
I can do 1h sword and shield too if there's a distinct advantage there, but yeah
if your using a 2handed sword/axe you can make void cleave be fire
and tbh I think void cleave is the best travel skill for sentinel rn
take its go a lot farther node
This I do remember, and it rocked.
I guess I also mean like.. what do I use as a filler attack/basic attack when things are on cooldown etc etc.
block is a very good not die defensive layer
tbh even if rive doesn't get a fire tag, just go foe reaver with some fat melee fire dmg on your sword
rive is basically the go to spammy free skill
There is that, and I think Rive gets some good ignite/fire shred skill nodes too
other than smite, but smite is more so for spell builds
yeah just keep in mind that flame drinker consumes ignites on enemies for phys pen so you probs dont want that
and also grab the node after foe reaver
so you don't randomly make forged weapons and instead get a solid stacking buff
block is always good
opens up variety too
you can do a sceptre + shield with rive + cast on melee hit healing hands (have it be a fire dmg spell)
as pally gets two nodes that gives flat spell dmg while holding a shield
Vengeance get Fire
Rive get Void
swag
Pvt. Vlad comes in clutch once again
can I transmog a sceptre to look like a sword?
no
you can get spell damage as an affix on swords
healing hands
Ah
well, shield bash is pretty fun
guess I'll have to try out vengeance when they update if it's getting the fire tag, wish rive would too
Vengeance with the fire tag will be cool
Hoping Rive iysv getting it too
Wish MS gets a conversion too
MS gets a conversion where it gets max swords equal to the number of damage types and each extra sword is a different damage type
ez
all the tags
Ye I saw that, is there a different way to build it outside that? Feels like it does as much damage as a single Forged Weapon so kinda feels like a waste to invest into, but I am just leveling :I
Imo it's not worth using a skill slot for it if you are not going for it
Because you already need 2 slots for Forged Weapons ( Forge Strike and MS or Warpath) + Volatile Reversal ( sucks but kinda mandatory in Sentinel rn)
Void Cleave is super strong.
And for the last slot I see Ring of Shield, Healing Hand, Sigils of Hope and maybe last MA
@ionic gust
very valid
Gotcha :) ty
o7
I hope Multistrike and Vengeance get some giga cool changes. They’re so bad when Rive exists
And they’re all too similar anyway
Most of note regarding the two is that multistrike will have an option to all attack the same target; making it viable in bossing (hopefully). And vengeance will have it's iron blades fixed/buffed (not to mention the fire conversion). So just what we've already been told about them they seem to be pretty good
Bladestorm MS looks like it'll eat your mana, so it'll be an interesting challenge to build
could be really good
If Time and Faith is untouched, I reckon it should be enough
with current tree that change still not enough to make it viable for bosses outside of smite version
It will do a lot of heavy lifting, but we'll need mana regen as well - especially on VK with echoes presumably consuming mana
