i don't think it's a fair assumption
sigils couldve been loot that you have to find via endgame content
like blessings i guess, could have rarities, roll ranges, affixes, etc
i was mostly looking at it from the perspective of proc'ing them via flay but 1.5 spirit per second just doesn't sound like a significant amount of damage compared to, you know, 120 chaos bolts per second
the damage per spirit is probably about similar to the damage per chaos bolt, just 100x less of them
nvm i forgot two more multipliers
im assuming these are multiplicative with each other?
i also wonder if the flay spell dmg transfers to the poison bolts cast by wandering spirits
i mean fair, they could tie it to a pinnacle encounter or two
I don't see them gating new systems behind pinnacle bosses.
now some sigils could be, but not all
ye like technically you can create as much content out of them as you're willing to
the possibilities are endless really
like idk have mobs drop crafting mats (ancient bone style) and design a whole crafting system around sigils
that’s the thing if they actually balance things so all the woven echoes are worth doing then it will feel like a ton of new content even if the content stays the same
i was just saying earlier in a different chat that the problem isn’t the volume of endgame content it’s the balance
i don't think EHG wants to balance content in a way that makes you want to run it though
i've been complaining since forever that there is no reason to do pinnacle content aka aberroth (and now, uber aberroth) if you don't need boss uniques
but it's not just pinnacle content it's like everything
the majasa woven echo? not a shield user? ya that does not exist
harbinger rush echo, with a bunch of random harbinger loot? does not exist
1 targeted harbinger echo, only exists if you need boss loot
draal queen echo, i've never seen that unique item in a build, so it doesn't exist
but the new primordial echoes actually do exist and you know why, because they give ancient bones aka something that helps everybody regardless of their build, with no exception
why don't they just do that with every woven echo
and every boss
like why does 99% of the content only drop loot for 1% of builds
the game actually has like no generic loot
there is some, but not enough from pinnacle bosses
more stuff like Nihilis would be cool, great item for many build types
nihilis is not generic loot
it fits in many different build types
it's generically good, it's not generic loot
sorry ya maybe I misunderstood what you were asking for
i mean loot that literally everybody can use
i think it’s fine for the crafting echoes to be an “if you need them” type thing but 99% of endgame content is either “if you need them” or “never do them”
the game just desperately needs currencies
poe has all this divine orbs nonsense & whatnot
LE has favor and
- it doesn't drop from bosses
- it's only useful for CoF
- it's not even really that useful for CoF anymore
in theory the primordial shop would be a step in that direction if there were more than one way to get primordial materials
i dont think EHG is even aware that the last season and this season is just Unclaimed Trove and how to most efficiently get Unclaimed Troves
considering that woven echoes (aka troves) is p-much the only content in the game, the fact that you can't see rift beasts in there is egregious
i honestly feel like having 99% of echoes not make me feel like i’m shooting myself in the foot by not running troves would go a long way
if rampant coast wasn't bugged the new content wouldnt even exist
ye thats why i always say please god turn the rampant coast proc rate bug into a feature because the only reason to ever do something else than troves is so you can proc rampant coast
there’s a ton of woven echoes that are clearly intended to be “general farming” echoes but they’re just 100x worse than trove so basically don’t exist
why tf am i gonna run any of those “loot for a great _” echoes when trove exists
i mean what we need is to buff woven echo loot across the board, remove the ability to imprint the same echo multiple times, add more imprint nodes to the tree
and then buff the proc rate of these echoes like 10x
so you can choose to target farm like 4-5 different woven echoes, and are able to actually just run echoes normally
and be met with actual diverse maps
like i want to run 10 maps and randomly proc a uber majasa that's actually hard and gives me good loot
ye exactly
poison bolts don't deal any damage, yes they technically hit to apply ailments but they have 0% damage effectiveness and no damage. Pretty sure flay buffs spell damage which wouldn't work for thos eailments anyway
like if a balance patch means actually balancing woven echoes so there’s a legit reason to run different ones that’s still gonna be a massive change in endgame content without even actually adding anything
o i missed that 0% dmg effectiveness
i highly doubt EHG will ever manage to make the right changes in that regard tho imo
mike indicated that he was interested in woven echo balance between seasons 2 and 3 and hinted at balance changes for them but then season 3 came out and nothing changed lmfao
it's just their design philosophy
so maybe you’re right
like i mentioned poe had divine orbs earlier
i asked mike why dont we have hinekora locks in LE and he said "players wont stop whining if we add anything rare to the game"
ofc he phrased it differently but it wasnt actually very far off
like when i say LE doesn't have generic loot, that's not true
we have a ton of generic loot, so much generic loot in fact that it's unlimited
rune of havoc, rune of creation, rune of ascendance, rune of redemption
temporal keystone
glyph of despair
it's like 20 different types of generic loot that literally doesn't matter because it drops in unlimited quantities
actually sorry havocs are limited for the first 2 days
but ye it seems EHG is for some reason scared of adding rare "meaningful" loot to the game
so as a result it'll also be harder to just balance loot in general
how do you even make other woven echoes worth running
like actually, what would you change to make draal queen worth running 🤔
troves when u finish echo
i mean i would change the imprint system completely personally
just have it be like a "rune of imprinting or whatevering" that drops the things it currently drops from aka caches, killing mobs, echo rewards
put an item in the forge window, use your runes, they drop appropriate loot similar to when an imprint procs
except now you can make those runes drop from a wider variety of content
so it's not literally just troves and sepulcher
I really like how much of an arcade game speedrunning 0-100 is
the mages echo should drop in all monoliths tbh and not just the lv 90 ones
would make the 0-100 more fun not relying on the 1% chance per mage in 3 zones, and make it 1% chance relying on all non empowered monoliths
character is done at level 100, dont know what most of those echos are I dont do that stuff
this patch broke my lich, i can't defeat Uberroth anymore
Flay Mana Lich
Yeah thats the meta ine
If you cntrl f Noobzor in here, so many people have asked and gotten help from him. You can compare all the links etc hes posted
Marrow shards got patched
If you're playing the marrow shards bug abuse version you gotta switch back to chaos bolts
@deep bane
if you aren't playing marrow shards, then they broke something
my flay build is fine but it might take slightly more investment without marrow shards
to get the same results
or slightly better piloting
did it really get nerf?
im still 1 shotting mobs in 5k corr
and doing uber in 30s
just came back on lich to see the bugfix, not even noticeable tbh lol
agreed on this, looking at the pattern, it HAS to be november or january to dodge poe1/2, or get bent over by poe2 again
Only if marrow shards was part of your setup.
If it wasn't then nothing changed.
it is
like is said still 1 shotting things
i dont feel the nerf
Then there's a good chance marrow shards wasn't doing as much as you thought and your damage came from Chaos Bolts
Most builds that relied on both felt a bit of the nerf.
it’s a nerf for sure but the damage difference isn’t really nearly as substantial as i was expecting
The bug itself was... a rollercoaster typed bug anyway, either it only did double damage or skyrocketed it by x64
I thought the timing was good
It squeesed in before the poe2 update, deadlock update, and original dying light 3 release date
I was done playing after the weekend there wasnt really much new content
that's perfect for anyone who wants to spend 3 days and dip (not saying that's wrong, lots of poeple did that). i dont think they would have called it a succesful season numbers wise. if they go head 2 head with poe2 again and just yolo it, then maybe they are happy with the numbers
with the new patch i felt my dmg dip but a lot... was following volcas mana flay. anyone know what we can do to fix dmg now? (marrow shards is the loss in dps i think)
hmm so start a fissure lock and then switch to lich?
Pretty much
Hi Squad, im doing a wraithlord build and I found this. Unforunately the T8 bricks because of LL chest? Any suggestions to craft or do anything? Should I just throw it into weaver tree?
Yeah T8 means you can't use the super LL chest.
https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/always-low-life-corrupted-form-dont-work-with-other-notables/79037
Anyone knows if this bug is fixed? If not it means my build has tons of wasted points 🤦♂️
500mil dps to 100mil dps after patch on pure marrow shards, so yes.
They didn't fix the army of skin bug, if they did marrow shards would be 10mil dps like intended
army of skin is bugged? how?
Iirc still unfixed
Marrow shards gets 2x mana scaling and a bugged proc from the boots, the bug is the only reason anyone uses marrow shards instead of pure chaos bolts
👍
clear! thanks for the explanation, i've read here about marrow shards bug, i'm a lich using mana scaling and flay with cb and marrow shards proc, and until yesterday i can defeat uberroth in a reasonable time (2 min) now for me it's near impossible unless you run the fight perfectly, or have really good gears
didn't they fix this in the most recent patch?
no, they just fixed 1 node within marrow shards tree for a 75% dmg nerf
boots is another 75% nerf if it ever happens
and they still haven't fixed corrupted form :(
so the lich rework is around bugs? 😂
Ehhh tbf, current lich even in it's current form, much more intresting that old lich
old lich is one-dimensional as hell.
lich is busted without bugs idk
my first uber kill was 3 days into the season and it took 50 seconds with the marrow shard bug, then i immediately spec'ed out of marrow shards with the same gear to see how it would perform and it was a 70s kill
which is like way better than the so-called "completely broken" ES VK killing uber in 3-4 minutes last season after a whole 7 days of playing
Flayos Bolts is busted. I think Lich is a worse choice for stuff like infernal shade pop than it was pre-1.3
coal would also be pretty good if it wasn't bugged xdd
coal would be worse than before wouldn't it? death seal uptime is much lower & the tree doesn't have any giga dps nodes for it
rip blood flat got nerfed for coal too
I think death seal had half the cooldown and +1s base duration before but didn't have the same defensive benefits
so it was just up a lot more of the time giving a 66% more damage buff
70% actually I think
i think im missing the node where you get more damage per missing health
unless you mean that one?
which is increased so negligible unless it's bugged
no
wait, let me check
"Toggle to remove all ward and seal your health, preventing it from going above its current value for 5 seconds. Deal more damage equal to your percent missing health and take less damage equal to half your percent missing health.
Reactivate to unleash a wave of death dealing damage based on how long Death Seal has been active and your current percent missing health."
That was the old description
oh wew somehow i missed that completely
yeah it doesn't say it does that now
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/oyK3zxYQ idk if this is actually a good coal build but it's a 1.2 coal planner

Crit Stygian Coal Lich Build Guide by Bebins
you can see what death seal & the tree looked like before
i just played lich in 1.0 and i dont remember death seal giving more damage at all
which is pretty weird cause that's a metric fkton of dmg
yeah
shouldve left that in tbh
actually i do remember death seal giving a ton of dmg but i forgot it was literally 70% more
it's just lich's version of flame ward now sadly
that was kinda cancer at the time but i think it'd be more fun now that lich is stronger and doesn't actually need death seal uptime to not hit like a wet noodle
I'd rather see Lichs passive damage be improved. Same reason as why Sorc got their mana based dmg bonus buffed; minor increased damage doesn't really do much.
having an offensive cooldown is cool, just need to also be able to kill mobs outside of it
70% is way too much tho it'd have to be like 20% or something
yeah unfortunately it's most likely not gonna happen
if they didn't touch it on the revamp patch they're not gonna touch it period
And for that Coal build; Don't you want to scale mana on coal? And I don't think the Blood Pact node works for coals mana cost, as that's mainly from Dark Shackles.
I'm also wondering if Corrupted Form is the way to go for Drain Life, so you can make use of the skills leech.
that's just a 1.2 coal build with a planner I could look at, I don't actually know if it's any good
doubt it, it's not using ladle for one thing
:white_check_mark: This character build is verified

▸ Armor Mitigation: 42% (2,432)
oops
why is that not a hyperlink
anyway
thats the build i was looking at
i can guarantee that it would kill uber in 40 seconds with more optimization in 1.2
but yeah without 70% more from death seal, not sure about its 1.3 performance
(that build is from a 1 min uber kill video)
in 1.2 coal builds were only doing uber with really really sick gear
ya i mean i farm really really sick gear so
i mean this gear does not look sick to me at all
aside from the relic which is pretty sick the rest is like day 3 gear in terms of damage
yeah the relic is insane but like
there is so much focus on defense on the rest of the gear
this is like 50% of the dmg it could be
and lp4 ladle
probably even less
sure you can get lp4 ladles if you're lucky but
as far as i'm concerned that ladle is a 3lp
unless for some reason you wanna shock
well shock is another ailment for the ladle more damage per ailment thing
okay
i dont think i've come across a build that doesn't hit ladle's 8 ailments without even trying
i mean the build has pretty good gear in terms of like versatility and stuff i'm just saying in terms of raw uber dps i can double it with day 3 gear
alright maybe only like 1.5x on day 3 but double damage on day 7 for sure
so i feel like coal can still be good in 1.3 despite the death seal nerf
can probably do uber in 40s but it'll take high investment and it won't be tanky (and it'll take a bugfix xdd)
almost all of the +flat was coming from rip blood right? and that got cut in half
right
also the mana gain is usually less
btw can you explain why ppl dont spec this node
oh is it the cooldown node right before that applies to drain life itself?
not for sure, but I do know that not all of the nodes in drain life work for the stygian beams
ah
some jank
oh well
waste of time thinking about a bugged skill anyway
i'd try to mess with it for a bit if it was working
I wonder if you could make poison spellDOT drain life work
whats the pitch
well, I think poison spell DOT benefits from poison overload and the poison pen on the poison ailment etc
but if i'm wrong about that then there's no selling point at all tbh
what does poison overload do exactly?
but i dont see why it wouldnt benefit from poison pen
does stygian beam get converted to poison?
Up to 400% poison pen at 100 poison stacks.
"Poison Overload
You have +4% Poison Penetration per stack of poison on the target, up to 100 stack"
no beam doesn't get converted
ah
Poison Penetration is distinct from something like "poison you inflict has +x% penetration" isn't it?
"Stygian Beam" is its own spell afaik. The main point of Coal / Beam is that Coal adds int and Mana scaling.
Coal is a weird item, since it effectively replaces drain life with a new spell.
there's fissure, wandering spirits & drain life which can all do poison spell DOT rather than ailments
notably two of those are kind of fire & forget
a new spell that still benefits from some, but not all of drain life's tree
a bit arbitrary and confusing if you ask me
think that cooldown is about how often drain life can stun not adding an 8s cooldown to the spell drain life but I'm not sure
thats also what i read it as
but yeah, the selling point of poison spell dot is definitely 400% pen from poison overload
it was just the most logical explanation i could come up with, but "node doesn't work" also makes sense
Well, it is part of the Coals description. "Drain life now repeadetly casts Stygian Beam instead of its usual drain effect"
I don't see why you couldn't make one of fissure/wandering spirits work with drain life
I guess you go with rip blood for +flat and mana recovery
man fissure kind of sucks if you're looking at the spell dot side of it
drain life is way more damage baseline
And stagger does add CD to drain life itself. So that'd introduce a need for CDR into your build to get 100% uptime.
oof
with coal you can spam cast drain life and get more beams
can you spam cast (dark shackles obviously) baseline drain life and get more damage?
if not then it's probably just a shit build
You can cast multiple ones to increase the amount of beams you fire, yes
ah but can you have multiple draining zones going at once
Works without coal too, yes. 1 zone gave 400 dmg ticks without coal, 2 zones for 800.
Limited range on Drain Life compared to Stygian Beam. So mobile enemies is more of an issue.
yeah
even if you pretend 400% pen is just a 4x multi rather than pen it isn't looking great ngl
It isn't. Was doing some tests myself, and Coal just feels so much better. Mana, Int and crit scaling. Actually hits if you want to do DoT through Ailments.
it's only 360% damage effectiveness/s
I'm not sure it would be good at 720%/s
not an acolyte skill but avalanche does like 4k+ damage effectiveness/s and that skill kind of blows
And using Drain life for utility (Eternal Servitude, Contempt, ward) feels like a waste of skill spec slot compared to the other utility skills you get as a Lich.
eternal servitude is apparently not particularly reliable
it works with dark shackles but if you use anything that reveals spirits, like the off-hand catalyst with a chance to reveal spirits on kill, then it will break
you are right, the old lich was all around death seal, the other skills was and are always a bit meh....with warlock the acoltye class has a good moment, but lich suffer a lot of mono dimensional "approach" to build something viable. Flay skill, that it's a good concept and the reason i've returned after 2 years, but it shows how bad are lich skills: you need to cast 3 skills all together (1 from warlock that deal a good amount of damage) to do a build that can compete with other classes and run high contents. You need to have the opportunity to defeat uberroth with your abitual build, not a zhp one with 0 defense dedicated to the fight. And bis gears in all slots with2-3lp (weapons on top) are near impossible to do in ssf or mg, unless you play cof. That said, i continue to play because i'm having fun, and this matters. I can finally reach endgame, defeat uberroth, grind at 1000c, impossible to do with my old poison lich.
poison lich
I fear you weren't even playing the best old lich build.
But yes, Reaper form and death seal are must takes for old lich.
i've played poison lich in 0.7
so much fun
i've done a mixed RF SR with aura of decay and drain life 😂
Oh you mean the version where poison was broken as all hell
they've fixed in 0.8 if i remember correctly
passed too much time
i don't know if was broken or not, i haven't the knowledge to test it, but it was supereffective and fun!
Yeah, poison was very bustedly strong (relative to the time). It got mechanically nerfed and has been pretty meh ever since, with just a few outliers making it viable in spite of that.
hi i have a reliq nest 2 LP which affix besides mana should i try slam?
im trying to get all the items first so i can start the character hehe
the best setup would have spell crit on 2lp
it's optimal for chaos bolts, not for marrow shards
but marrow shards might be slowly getting bugfixed xdd
So is Abom still sacrificing itself?
Just tested...still happening.
yup still happening here too
Running mana flay and was wondering if 1lp blood mage with 4% crit is better or 2lp with 2% crit?
exalted gloves
useable with flay?
guys i really need help i stopped playing first leauge becase i switched build i need to talk some vc
low rolled / useless rolled
its good to keep in stash for the next 2lp one that rolls in useless
im full i had dinner but im still hungry and want desert i need tobtalk some vc
in
now
Mana lich here. Was wondering between woven flesh and the chest from Aberroth which was better?
Depends on your priorities / gear for crit avoid & resistances
Lots of people use Core of the Mountain too
hmm. Didn't even think of that one tbh.
does golems amalgam primalist stack if i also have twined golem and dread shade if i make it so i cant have more then one if i have multple shades would the +10 necrotic damage and the +60% necrotic damage stack on all the minions per shade i have?
extremely difficult to overcap enough for portent to be worth it
i'm primarily using pale ox and occasionally swapping to valeroot for a smidge more damage on bosses
so woven>portent then? unless you have giga gear?
Core of mt plus red rings for mapping. Valeroot plus julra rings for bossing
even if you have giga gear it's like you're gonna have to give up mana idols to hit 115 allres which is no bueno
what about this for mapping? with mana and heath roll?
good especially if you don't go marrow shards. plus way easier to get a good 2lp than core
guys i really need help i stopped playing first leauge becase i switched build i need to talk some vc and help me out
just play ghostflame
In what way? Theres plenty of builds out there
I was havoc harvest to mana
So you switched to mana flay or?
Shade effects don’t stack.
Aura effects don’t stack.
Y
guys i really need help i stopped playing first leauge becase i switched build i need to talk some vc and help me out
if you have dread shade with aura buffs on minion A and then spec into the no aura shade stuff and put that on minion B then minion B will get double buffed while in the radius of minion A's dread shade aura by the things that apply to the targeted minion and minions in the aura
saw someone demonstrating that with poison rogues before
Does anyone know with some certainty if the frenzy berserker belt is working any more as intended compared to first week
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/QW41yq3B idk how to get mana rolls

https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/build-guides/flay-mana-lich-guide
yeah but idk how i get the mana rolls and slam them am really new
you sure you complete reading the guide?
it says use harvest to gain mana
i mean i only got like 140 mana
oh man you don't have any mana affix on your items
yeah idk how i get that or target farm them
you see this?
yeah
how did you make your traitor tongue?
can we hop on a vc real quick
I mean if you don't have legendary items then just use exalted ones first
am not good at explaing so thast why i wanna vc
well I don't have the mic so can't talk to nobody 🤣 🤣 🤣
u can i type i talk
dm
never heard a word 😂
really ?
yeah I just saw you were livestreaming and didn't hear anything
oh i didnt know that sorry i wann call u back
I got my old headphone plugged in so I think I can talk rn
thats good too for the movement speed and health. i just prefer core of the mt for the all attributes to hit red ring threshold
Still completely bugged
I test after every patch hoping that they just forgot it in the changelog
Summon Volatile Zombie bone pact passive that spawn Marrow Shards. Do the Marrow Shards scale with player or minion damage is spawned this way?
Pretty sure it scales with player stats
Player. "You have a chance to cast Marrow Shards"
Considering it's been untouched for ages....
cool, i wont expose it. let me have fun for a while XD
It's been known since this major patch
Not much use for it other than sacrifice usage.

oh man I think we gotta buy a new VGA every time play that build 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
huh, looks like you're not actually using chaos bolts?
i changed the dread shade to chaos bolt because they died too quickly
too much thing to do, spamming rip blood for mana/ check if dread shade still aplied. sometimes the shade wont last more than a sec after multiple cast
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/BMj1pXPo
Hey guys i got these items but idk something feels weird idk what am doin wrong could anyone help
that’s not the correct link that just links to an empty planner. you need to hit save & share to get the right link
just did that
should i use manafused shattered worlds ?
this is looking better than the last one you sent, you’re missing a lot of mana and damage from slams and idols.
obviously you’re very far from stuff like double t7 slams but this is a good setup to aim for, much tankier than the maxroll version
@random dew
<@&1161418687471956101>
anyone here know, the Skeleton Resummon node for the necro and summon skeletons, do its only resommun 1 every 3 sec. or if i have 100% in the it resummon all skeletons 3 sec after they died?
It should just be 3 seconds after a death to roll the resummon chance. So in theory you have 3 and they all die in the same game tick then youd get 3 more 3 seconds later.
I dont see anyone mentioning it having a cap or ICD
Each skeleton rolls the revive chance on its own death and then ticks its own 3 sec timer
Is flat necro spell dmg or crit multi more important for mana flau
thanks man, and what a damn shame
flay nerf is real lol.
Has anyone done a flay build not using reaper form? Is that even viable?
yeah it would still be viable just weaker
you get attack speed and crit and flat dmg in that form
Ok so that’s the best way to scale it? What do you do for defensive you think? Ward?
the current meta is really just splitting your health via corrupted form passive and having the leech to not die to DoTs and use ward to take any hits directly.
Core of the Mountain is popular, so is Valeroot because mana. Seed helm for further DR via dmg taken as mana
im omitting a lot of info but theres plenty of planners out there already
Losing a good chunk of buffs and losing a 2nd health bar is quite a bit
Depending on your corruption level, the difference can be night and day
Yeah reaper form makes me not want to play the class but I do enjoy the flay ability
I wonder if I can make it work, obvi will not be taking it to uber Abby, but having a badass dagger acolyte would be fun with flay, I just really dislike the visual and playstyle of the reaper form
Your power ceiling will be.. pretty low actually
300 is prob doable
For sure
Probablty still enough for aberroth though.
Crit is gunna be a problem
For sure, I’ll give it a chance, if it is that bad will just go back to rogue
Ty for the info
There is no mtx or anything to keep the visual for acolyte when doing reaper form right? I’m seeing people can perma sustain it, but I also really dislike in maps when you don’t have a mob pack and then you lose your form after running around a bit
I disliked reaper form aswell until I just played with it. Its really not that bad, you just press a button every couple of monos.
And don’t underestimate the armor. I have 16k armor in reaper form because of the armor from int while I only have 9k ish without reaper
What effect does + minion melee skills have on abomination?
Abom gets more skill points.
Just tested it with ox armor and doesn't look like it gives more skills actually
Been playing Harvest Flay Lich and the damage is solid but i am just dying way too much. I dont have Mountain of the ox armor yet cant down that T4 boss yet but any suggestions on how to make the build more tanky?
I think ox says strength minions not melee minions doesn't it?
abom doesn't scale with strength, it isn't a strength minion
Yeah makes sense
Been playing around with my build a ton but finally can kill Uber
First time was luck on an int build and eternal arrow now doing it with strength using only double strike
armor, life, leech, capped endurance, pick up the woven flesh chest for 100% crit avoidance, ...i suggest you to switch to low life, if you haven't done yet....blood mage gloves can help you against rares and bosses.
has anyone defeated uber with a mana flay? ive tried over 100 times and i think it's bullshit. ive coppied some of the top builds and still cant even get him down past 60% hp without getting 1 shot.
thats skill issue
you need to dodge stuff, not tanking
btw may post your profile here so people can check it and give advice?
most likely skill issue but ive watched countless vids and read everything studdied the pattern
still cant get it aha
you fight against the arena, not the boss itself😂 however, with that gears you can defeat him, just dodge 1shot things like slams and ground destruction...or like khan said, switch julra's rings with 2rr or 1 rr+ 1 font of the erased, this ring gives you ward while attack uberroth, %life, %mana and random affixes like res or spell damage if you're lucky enough!
Also won't heart be better for tankiness? Or buy shattered worlds if MG. And use t8 rune dagger
I got 2 red rings too which I swap between
phantom grip is just fine
I got a feeling half you people replying have no idea 😅 I've tested like 3 different builds. which include phantom grips, mana stacking, stardiles. t8 rune daggers, different relics. they're all much of a muchness. think it just comes down to skill
as long as it's strong enough 😂
Yeah need to find what works, ill keep switching and see how I go, can only get more practice.
well I've been following the guide on maxroll since new season released and it's going pretty well to me
here's the guide https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/planner/2ai4s0qh#2
what corruption you at? defeated uber abberoth yet?
I'm at 500 corruption rn
okay, I'm on 1000 felt like volcas maxroll version sort of failed after 600
uberroth to flay lich is like a piece of cake 🤣
so that's why I switched
I like that he put the T8 dagger on the table
You basically have no defenses chest and helm have no %hp. Using core of the mountain, pale ox can provide more defense with 2x red rings or a well rolled font of the erased. Also there is a bug and you are not counted as low life. All those low life bonuses you are not getting.
Also using brewmaster belt is solid.
Ok but what about necro? I can’t find a good build
Abomination is the go to necro build
Oh great
Who would have guessed XD
For "bone curse applies decrepify/penance/acid skin" from pearls of swine, does more damage from the bone curse tree scale the damage of the curses?
Usually "more damage" nodes in a tree apply to ailments inflicted by the skill, but I dont know if that's the case here
I don’t think so. Bone curse more dmg nodes are generally generic in creases to whenever it does dmg aka whenever the cursed mob is hit. So I don’t think it would apply to an extra curse inflicted. At the very least I haven’t seen any increases in dmg numbers when doing testing for things without any gear but the swine on
Should be easy to test and verify in game on your end
No
if you have multiple 'summon a new minion on minion death' types of effects, can they all proc at the same time?
Yeah, if they are all applicable to the minion that died
what build you guys use before getting good amount of mana for Flay Mana Lich?
Rip blood marrow shards or melee flay/harvest
thanks
has anyone done a dot focused golem build ?
Yeah, it’s pretty bad depending on what your goals are.
Don’t expect to kill Abberoth with it
If you just want to have fun and don’t cate about pushing high corruption though then it’s fun.
weird cuz they are quite many multipliers
vitality stacking (passive)/ decrepify (amulet)/ aura of decay/ dread shade with lich scorn
Anyone care to guide me to a warlock build?
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/B5qRNw7B
https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/planner/bf8vr0q6#1
I have 2 planners for 2 different builds here
:white_check_mark: This character build is verified

Flame Whip can kill Uber,
Witchfire is great for Monolith clearing.
Profane Veil can be pretty good for all content but I don’t think it can do Uber
Generic DoT lock for Chaos Bolts can do 300 - 500 cr easily
ty! im doing the ficher build now im lvl 26 having a blast
ill change it up some when i get close to end game
Up to 240 mil crits on abom now on dummy. Kind of a glass cannon but with some successful slams can probably get to 45 sec uberroth kills
Regular aberroth dies in like 5 seconds
Mana flay lich... should I have t8 flat nec dmg or t8 critical multi on my dagger for max dmg?
neither use primordial relic
nec dmg is just fine
Thx for input 👍
flamewhip can stun uber which is kinda crazy
<@&1161418687471956101> The usual
flay mana lich this season is something incredible, btw am I hallucinating or this void rift look like a purple buttock 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
You looked at too many anuses.
💀
like Bwz said, if you want min maxing the build and bring out the full potential of the build, use primordial relic and stack mana as you can (gears and idols), Your damage comes from chaos bolts and the deadly pot passive in flay skilltree. Destroy everything with the mana power! Once you get 2.5k mana uberroth become a joke. Who needs skill once you have MANA!
How much does speccing into marrow shards increase flat lich’s damage? Seems like most of the damage comes from chaos bolt right?
Do we have a tooltip to show the numerical values (damage, HP, crit chance, etc) of our minions?
Pressing Alt only shows the % gained by Intelligence and levels.
No
Only way to truly find out is pen and paper.
Thank you 🙂
Hahaha good to know i will start stacking asap... right around 800 right now but just getting into min maxing
Marrow shards is still a decent chunk. It also receives the spell dmg from mana multi like chaos bolt. It's the best option for last skill since you can get a lot of value out of unspecced death seal
New to lich, death seal does nothing when I’m at max health or does it help since lich caps my health at 50%?
wdym does nothing? death seal delays dmg so you dont get 1 shot
What is the priority range of unique affixes on Executioner's Tithe?
4% crit chance and 30% mana when hitting boss/rare. oh and spirit battery of course 4%
really pathetic
4% spirit battery mandatory
4% crit pref not mandatory
mana when hitting rares will affect your QoL
If you have corrupted form it still acts as if you sealed at 50% hp. Obviously sealing at low health gives more benefits than high health but its still a powerful defensive button
sealing at 33% hp is less ehp than sealing at 50%
Just got it today from Nemesis, and I'm looking for a new build to play
LP3: 1 in 6,920 and rare drop omg
This season dies too fast
I somewhat expected it because their content creation history is usually six months or more
saw This patch addresses skill bugs, controller and WASD issues, and more. and fooled myself into thinking an abomination sacrifice fix was in the offing 🙁
I've been playing for over a week and have already experienced sacrificing two Dino
I had to try really hard to fight off sleepiness while playing Abom
if you use infernal shade it makes it a lot smoother to play
@mighty tundra how did the wraith build end up you ever try Uber?
I got Uber to 50% but I need better gear. Life has gotten in the way a bit though
It's a very fun build
Not bad though! Looks fun
Hey so, your build, you manually recast skellies?
Yes and abom detonates them, turning them into blood wraiths
That's about the best evidence I've seen for the re-summon + sac being what kills aboms randomly...anyways, you use rip blood for mana?
I've done everything there is with standard abom so probably will try something new
Mana and ward yes
The abom does sac himself randomly but it is what it is
still clearly took a really long time for you to reach 120 in that previous vid
then again...cast speed 🤔
It doesn't take long at all to get all the mana back. It scales with the amount of minions I can hit and the speed of the orbs coming back
It's usually 1 cast and I'm max mana when I have enough wraiths
I meant how long it takes for you to lose the abom, heh
Oooh yeah
I found if I put 2 or more points in the chain node on sacrifice he dies way more
but are you also using the passive resummon of skeletons as well? or does that not really mesh well with hard casting them
I have the resummon on the skill tree but not the passives iirc
I can't check right now
Interesting 🤔
Thanks for taking the time btw
I have it specced into archers and chose eternal arrow for the abom for extra bleeds but honestly idk if it's even going off with all that's going on lol
No problem
It can kill Uber I'm just getting bored of the gear grind. Been playing too many arpgs
I know when I had him doing it by himself he was firing arrows
I didn't have as much cast speed as I could have too, so that coulda been improved
(for either of us)
Yeah I want t7 attack speed T5/t7 cast speed on julras gloves just to help the abom with casting sac also
you kindof double dip on effectiveness with those, heh
Honestly the only thing I don't like is there are so many wraiths on screen I couldn't see the line dot that the Uber drops and that nukes 15k ward in an instant lol
xD
there's a wraith guide here https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/build-guides/wraith-necromancer-guide
That's a different wraith to what I'm playing
I'm spamming the temporary wraiths you get from sacrifice
idk but I've seen a lot of necro builds this season but none can beat abom necro up to par
Necro strong
"It's not about the peformance, it's about sending a message"
Yeah I can crit 240 mil with my abom and handle Uber decently with very few successful lp2 slams
My axe has t7/t5 and my rings are are lp2 failed slams, belt is good but that's it
wtf am I looking at...
Selling what...something in Last Epoch?
do you...have anything to do with Last epoch?
Why the hell are you talking about that in a game channel.
<@&1161418687471956101>
Idk why you're posting about real life stuff in a game server, in a channel meant to be talking about a specific class of the game.
Success that has nothing to do with the game in a channel made for a specific class.
I think the point he is making is that this is not the place for those kind of posts
agreed
#📚┃off-topic exists for a reason.
Whatever this is, it's not appropriate for Acolyte channel. Take a break.
something wrong with my filter?
i'm told there's bugs with filtering for roll ranges on certian uniques
Hope me luck
you better be luck or it sucks 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
5 times today but only 1 with 4% spirit battery
5 times with dual t7 and failed all
Man i was playing wraithlord and constantly getting targeted by enemies (and dive bomb one shot by rift beasts) even with the dread shade taunt skillpoint. I rage quit that build 😂
And I'm still on regular monoliths (lv 90) after main story with 3.4k ward (low life)
Going back to mass necro minions. How far can they push?
If you can't push well with wraithlord, mass minions will do worse.
They can probably beat abberoth, but won't go too far further then that.
Does Harvest have a base freeze rate when converted to cold? Or do I have to rely on Bone Curse to freeze?
If it doesn't say so, there's none.
Main issue was surprise attacks. I could run around enemies, but when stuff teleports out of existence and then divebombs me, then it was frustrating. Especially when wraithlord was supposed to pull aggro away from me
Yeah, that same thing will most likely happen with mass minions, since they'll hold even less aggro.
Maybe I can try not limiting shades to 2? So wraithlord summons more?
It depends if you want wraithlord to be the main dps or the wraiths themselves
Necromancer really underpowered huh 😞
I can completely stand still and sleep while my Abom clears both rare mobs and bosses at 2k2 corruption with a strength stack build without needing to dodge
I only played Abom for a short time this season, and it’s really powerful, but I didn’t find any joy in playing it
Well, considering abom can eat uberroth for breakfast, not really.
Minion army builds on Necro really struggle with even regular Abby so yeah, anything past that isn’t likely to happen.
Wraithlord and Abom are much, much better for pushing and for bossing @void steppe
I have to ask. Are the devs even aware of corrupted form's bug since season start? I have seen so many skill fixes and yet nothing for something that would boost our damage massively
They dont even fix the new uniques of this season, im not sure where their bug fix priority is
what are you slamming
unlucky missed 5 times 😄
i think aspd is the worst 2nd roll option but i guess you want it for maps
it makes your mapping worse imo
I'll slam dual t7 weapons to use temporarily before starting to farm a new character. I absolutely don't like going to massage for those 2k mobs
I prefer to quickly jump to the familiar 2k milestone instead of grinding at low corruption
at what corruption do people run uber boss?
500 at least, aside from that it doesn't matter
I have some specific items to equip her with, like the gloves I failed this afternoon
the hard version?
Corruption does not affect/scale the fight
It's just a requirement to place it
you'll have like half the ehp if you dont use immortal vise but you do you
I burned through all my 2lp Vise a few days ago
Oh, I see.
My mistake.
At what corruption level can people confront ably run hard uber boss?
Mana and AS, right?
I have over 20 3lp Tongue, so I’ll probably manage to hit one
Next season, this dagger will probably get add more LLP or be nerfed a bit 😆
My Warpath VK character has a dual t7 Vise with those affixes and a nice roll. I'll slam another one for him
Last season, the Lich Stygian Coal made me extremely exhausted
maybe i should start a new character
mage seems fun (my first choice in any rpg is a necromancer, then a mage)
Sup guys im new here , ive played few thousands of hours in poe 1 , what should i do for a beginner in this game ? Currently at lvl 25
Welcome, traveler!
Well, not much to say other than have a lot of fun and CoF (Circle of Fortune faction unlocked in chapter 9) basically boosts loot and allows easy target farming for a nice self found experience
Also don‘t sell random items to vendors, that’s a waste of time.
And get familiar with crafting - it’s really good 🙂
Making your own loot filter can be fun
You're not forced to trade in poe
The point is: ssf experience in LE is really nice
Having done SSF in both, I actually think PoE has the better SSF experience
High tier items can be made completely deterministic with Omens and Essences in PoE 2.
In LE, not only are your drops completely RNG reliant (and good Exalteds very hard to get), you also likely will get screwed at the last step when making your Legendary with <4 LP.
And when crafting low tier stuff, you are at the mercy of FP
Yeah SSF Uber was very difficult for me. And my gear still kinda sucks
that's not really related to SSF though it's just an LE thing
MG will have the exact same issue
what you're saying is that your poe experience is better than your LE experience (in terms of gear progression anyway)
but if you compare the poe SSF experience relative to trade, and the LE CoF experience relative to MG, i mean the advantage that trade gives you in poe is immensely superior to that of MG, by orders of magnitude
I meant what I said, this is not what I said
i mean you'll have to define SSF experience then
For someone who knows how the crafting system works, trade in PoE 2 offers no significant advantage other than a shortcut to getting Omens faster.
You can make BiS gear completely deterministic.
and how long does it take you to deck yourself out in 6x T1 mods in SSF vs trade?
but regardless a lot of ppl agree that "getting screwed on your sanctum slam" as you put it feels terrible and the only way it's gonna change is if people give a ton of feedback so i'd encourage you to put that in the feedback forums
I don't play trade, so I can't tell you.
How quickly I can make BiS gear with guaranteed modifiers with guaranteed tiers solely depends on how many Rituals I need to get my Omens.
The SSF vs trade advantage would be exponentially bigger for me in LE vs PoE 2
LE high tier crafting is just a lottery, you can't "know how to craft" your way to good gear
considering you don't play trade i don't think it's fair that you make this assumption
and i'm not gonna debate you on poe stuff because i'm not an expert
however i've put my time in LE and i can safely say that you are completely wrong with your last message
I'm happy to be convinced otherwise
I mean I think this is an expectations thing. You can get your bis with LP on it very quickly for most builds. If you want multi lp bis then yes there is more rng but that’s a design decision for replayability
you can check out frozensentinel's video on imprinting and crafting double T7 legendaries
i'm not gonna pretend that there is no RNG involved but afaik there is RNG involved in poe2 crafting as well it's just that the amount of RNG isn't so high that you can't just bruteforce through it
LE is the same
you do have to hit a 1 in 3 slam at the sanctum there is no way around that
The only RNG involved when I make BiS gear in PoE 2 SSF is having the blue base with the starting modifiers.
The rest is deterministic.
so when you go and do your abyss shit, you are 100% of the time going to get the t1 mod you want first try?
You're misunderstanding
no i'm understanding what you're saying but i'm trying to make a parallel with LE crafting
you're only calling it deterministic because the impact of RNG is low enough that you can try again until you hit what you want, and it's pretty much guaranteed to happen
LE is the same if you know how to craft
the main thing about LE is that there is such a thing as expectations to be set, if your idea of BiS is a 2LP red ring then you will be disappointed yes
but then again i don't think you should be expecting to hit 100% adorned in poe2 SSF
so it goes both ways
Hang on, I'm writing a full explanation lol
Expectations rising faster than our ability to fill them has been one of the bigger issues I've noticed in LE of late
I remember getting asked why there were no 3 lp blood roosts on the market in MG and how they can't finish their bleed falconer build (before the nerf) and I went and looked at the odds
No idea why it got blocked
That's what I mean by "knowing how to craft guarantees you BiS gear"
yeah i think we should first define what good/BiS gear is in LE, because some 3LPs are, in fact, completely unrealistic
The only influence you have in LE is imprinting an item to increase the same base dropping by what seems to be whatever percent.
but see this is where i already don't agree with you that poe2 crafting is "100% deterministic"
you say guaranteed T2+
what if i want t1
i agree that it's very deterministic and you can bruteforce it
Then you're focusing on the wrong things. There are modifiers where T1 matters and modifiers where it's irrelevant.
but if you want a T1 mod you have to take a 1 in 3
in LE when you slam an item you have to take a 1 in 3
what's the difference?
For +5 Chaos Level it has to be T1
For resistances, tier 3~1 is fine, you'll overcap anyway
but you realize that you're saying "poe2 is deterministic, you are just focusing on the wrong things, T1 is irrelevant", basically my expectations are too high
you realize i can say the exact same thing about LE
This is partly EHG's fault. We should have the lp math ingame. I shouldn't have to go to a 3rd party tool to learn the math or the lp level. There are items with drastically different lpls that you wouldn't know till you went and looked
how is this even remotely comparable
i wrote a google doc with the help of a dataminer on imprints btw
i'm not sure you realize how strong the imprint system is
you can read it here
let me check
i don't really think that would help so much, some omega sweats keep telling me that 3LP 777 boots are super realistic (the 70 LPL ones), for me i'm done with the league way before i slam that
Honestly, and this will be unpopular, I take huge issue with the existence of random FP and LP
a lot of people just look at what other people have farmed and assume it's also realistic for them
i don't mind it but i completely respect this take
i think that they can improve the systems, the fact that they exist is completely fine imo
Let me rephrase, I don't mind LP, I mind that you can only choose 1 affix from Exalted
i agree with this entirely
this is one take i had about the LP system on the suggestions forum
and this is why i think you should keep sending feedback either in suggestions or feedback channel or both
Oddly it seems like getting a perfect one is easier than getting an okay one.
to give you my own perspective on the topic, this is the character i've farmed in about 10 days of CoF: https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/oPn9OlWQ

wait thats the wrong planner
yes this is CoF so necessarily SCF (i dont play multiplayer)
I'm not familiar enough with high tier gear in LE so I can't really tell how gear or not great it is

still insane gear
I've been too busy playing characters until monoliths and then making new ones because I have other build ideas lol
and you can "deterministically" get this gear, it's just that it takes a 1 in 3 roll at the sanctum to hit any 2lp and yes it feels bad to miss it
but you can farm as many attempts as it takes and on average it'll take 3 attempts so it's not terrible
I think the hardest part is exalts
i think you're just not going deep enough into the endgame farm if you think exalts are hard
Potentially true
isnt double t7 setup technically hard too though
since you have to get T7s of the affixs you dont want to imprint or whatever
i mean idk i'd honestly like Lilith to tell me if they are trying to get t7t7 2lp items or like t7t5
i still don't know what they think is hard
i don't really think anything is hard (at least below triple t7 items) i think it's unfun
which is completely different
the hard part is that from my limited experience, the modifiers on an exalted item are completely random, and you will want it to have 3 or 4 good modifiers with good tiers (and also the right modifier T7) before taking it to the sanctum
yeah i just think you have way more experience in poe than LE and you are comparing the two games on completely different levels
the uniques I can keep taking to nemesis / turtle / gauntet of strife, which is RNG too, but at least I know what to do with it
exalts Id just keep killing stuff and hope something good drops
Yeah poe crafting is infinitely more determinisitic
^
but thats mainly due to the FP system
it's rare for people to actually craft items with 4 good modifiers before taking them to the sanctum
you just take 2 good mods and roll the 1 in 3, if you miss, you go next
and then you use a unique with 3 LP and get screwed and restart from 0
how dare you call me out for my quad T5 sanctum runs
lol
people will only craft 4 good mods if the unique base is actually rare
like you're not realistically getting another one this season
examples?
Yeah, I think it is a bit awkward though for the "best" way to get your desired T7s is by imprinting a random item with T1empty/T7T7 where the T1 and empty are your desired slots
but then again thats just players being players
well we had a friend actually get a 2lp red ring a few days ago
^ yeah 2lp RR is nuts
I still havent gotten 1 in 3 leagues of playing a bunch
you would craft 4 good mods for this
"red ring is rare" is literally the first thing I learned about LE before even booting it for the first time 😆
its like dropping a mageblood lol
there are a lot of items whose upperbound is realistically 2LP
like world splitter, executioner's tithe, null portent, seed of ekkidrasil, etc
pretty much most items in the game have an upperbound of 2LP
if you happen to get extremely lucky and get a 3LP you would probably craft 4 good mods
I was aiming for 2 LP as well on all uniques
that 1/100 ish range
before slamming it
i mean i'll give you a clear example, which illustrates why i posted the suggestion that i posted above
this is my body armor
i do have a 3LP in my stash
I just personally find it very "bullshitty" when after going through everything and finding a 3 LP + "decent enough" Exalt, you can still get screwed over in the sanctum
ideally you'd craft 4 good mods to slam the 3LP, then you have a 2 in 3 chance to hit your T7 mod, and then the 3rd mod is good regardless
but yeah it does take way too much effort to craft such an exalted item, only to have a 1 in 3 chance to brick it and be useless because it missed the t7 mod
8 movespeed 5 AA 20 allres too sheesh
and that's why that 3LP is in my stash, unslammed, while i've quit the season 3 weeks ago already
the reality of LE is that 2LP is best in slot
Then I don't understand why you disagreed with my assessment eariler
because 3LP is not best in slot
3LP is unrealistic
it doesn't exist
it's a miracle that it's even in my stash
2LP double t7 is the equivalent of your 6x T1 mod in poe2
3LP would be the equivalent of vaaling your mirror item and getting exactly what you want
3lp just gives you a higher chance to get the 2 affixes you want
No, rolling 90% instead of 88% on your 20~90% modifier is
i mean so is rolling 90% instead of 88%
And for the important cases, you can guarantee T1
yes, exactly, that's my point
PoE 2 also has tiered Orbs, Perfect Orbs of Transmutation / Augmentation guarantee level 70+ for your modifiers
in case of % energy shield, for example, it is a guaranteed T1
so when it matters, you can guarantee the T1
i mean idk arguably you can guarantee 1 affix that matters at the sanctum
but there is a difference between getting 23 Spell Damage instead of 25 on my Transcriber's Graver, or getting a completely trash modifier
2lp on that sword is so insanely common that
idk if this is a real situation that you're complaining about
or if you just randomly tried to come up with a fictionary example
I was frustrated after bricking 5 times at sanctum the other day, so personal example
like the whole thing about LE is that you'll brick your sword but you can bruteforce your way through it
how do you bruteforce your sanctum to give you the 1/3
you slam a whole bunch of items and eventually hit it because it's an incredibly common item and exalts are also incredibly common
i can farm you a successful slam of this item in 15 minutes
by finding another exalted with 2 or more relevant T7? ok see you in 2026
like trust me i understand where you're coming from
before 1.2 you couldn't even guarantee any affix at all
i failed 25 slams in a row
once you have 2t7 bases another 2t7 even is not that hard to get
like 17-18 of them were orian's eye
i calculated the odds of it happening and it was like idk
1 in 25k bad luck odds or something
i was absolutely pssed
Yes, and when you get the decent base in PoE2, you fail 0, because the craft is deterministic
but 99% of the time you can bruteforce your items if they're realistic within a day
that's what I meant earlier
i’ll never forget all the times i whiffed the t7 on a lp3
yeah but i dont think you realize how extreme it is to fail 25 orian's eye
vs failing 5 swords
do you have a level 100 character in LE
But doesn't that support my statement that crafting high end gear in LE in SSF is much harder than in PoE?
no because your poe standards are lower than your LE standards
That's not true
my LE standards are lower
and you can slam a t7t5 sword in 15 minutes
if you get the exalt
t7t7 might take you a day if you're unlucky (like probably 2 hours on average)
eventually
no, not IF you get the exalt
that's why i'm asking if you even have a level 100 in LE
you don't realize just how common an exalt is
single t7 exalts don't even show up on my filter
on day 3 of the season
you can get a t7t5 exalt in like 15 minutes yeah
that's how common they are
hmm
nah the 15 minutes are for rolling prophecies to get 2lp swords
the t7t5 that takes 5 seconds of looking at my stash
take a random item craft what i want and havoc
literally
well, assuming you don’t have the stash for that
I'm leveling my Mage right now, I'll see how long it'll take me to get decent exalts for my items.
which it doesn’t sound like lilith does
the reality is that it'd take you 2 minutes because you'd have to go back to your loot filter and make t7s show up
the thing is i don't trust your methods
you talk about all this determinism in poe but i don't think you know how to be efficient in LE
that's why i'm saying you are comparing poe to LE on different levels
your poe knowledge is way higher than your LE knowledge
and i mean it respectfully
that's true, I'm literally very new to LE. I've noted some strategies and echo patterns and methods to reroll mods and LP, but my experience is very limited
Also I assume all of this is speaking with high Corruption, and I reached Empowered Monoliths on my Paladin and started an Alt 🤷♀️
yeah that's totally fine, and you said that you reroll a lot but i will give you credit in that it'll be much harder to get high end gear in LE if you keep rerolling
on your first character of the league, the high end reward structure of LE starts at level 97
you are not expected to be able to farm good gear before that
you can start getting stuff at 300 yeah, the endgame standard is 1000
but the most important thing is to be CoF rank 12
so you can make use of prophecies
as efficiently as possible anyway
it’s really worth your time to push further on a character before you roll alts, as it makes farming gear for alts way easier
i think they play SCF
^
ah
Also I'm too excited because I come up with new builds lol
yeah i mean that's totally fine to play that way
but to me it just sounds like you complain about endgame stuff being less accessible, while not even reaching endgame
I was also a bit scared of empowered maps, playing HC and all
why character found instead of account found? just curious
Offline for performance
you can play SAF offline still
aka shared stash
if you play SCF i can only assume it's for the challenge
fair enough
but twink gear is extremely potent in LE and most people have a lot of fun rolling through the early game with 200% movement speed
not for me personally
i can appreciate that but even if you don’t use twink items not having your faction rep, keys and crafting mats would drive me mad personally lol
you can do skips on your first character btw
but ofc on HC i wouldnt recommend it
lol
if i had to do it for every alt that is
I personally ban alt crafting mats on my HCSSF runs in PoE too 💀
I just like doing fresh runs idk
well you are the target audience
for scf?
of this stupid seasonal meta
i come from MMOs so i'm not a fan (i tolerate it it's fine)
MMOs usually keep player progression from one patch to another (even if they invalidate most of your gear by releasing new much stronger gear at the same time)
I come from build creation in CRPGs, so character progression from 1~finish is a huge factor for me
the thought of having to manage a legacy stash kinda makes me shudder tbh
it's better now with gauntlet
it gets better with time
gamba > hoard
i play cRPGs as well but most cRPGs don't have a ton of replayability
cause the longer you play, the stricter you pick up items
its only an issue immediately
same lmao
bless original sin for existing
maybe I'm biased idk
i just look at my imported legacy stash for 5 minutes each season and remember why i don’t play legacy
It's withdraw only can pretend it doesn't exist
it depends what you like about those games, there are ppl who like to experiment with builds, and there are ppl who are here for the story or questing/progression experience
Like all of our problems
the latter usually only plays once or twice
I'm a build maker, so I have potentially infinite replayability
I think those games heavily encourage the fresh start vibe, like a new survival/crafting world
Towns are ready to pillage again
Etc
meh i get so bored if i replay DOS
IDK how odd this will sound, but starting from fresh vs having alt gear also contributes to me feeling like I'm actually playing an RPG
it's definitely an acquired taste I guess
i like discovering new stuff, i cba to be on the beach again i alreayd know that beach all too well
NWN was insane for that with the amount of community-made content
Yet here you are doing your 44523321234th False Temple run
I'm a little desensitized to replaying because of older jrpgs. must've finished golden sun a trillion times while on a trip/public transport when younger
😆
i find with CRPGs replaying them often shatters the illusion of the impact of choices
it's unclaimed troves but ye
cough trove cough
different genre, i'm here for different things
i can certainly tell you that i haven't read a single word of the LE campaign
surprisingly I care less about the roleplay and more about just moving through the world like the plague and getting everything I can get my hands on
literally the opposite here lol
i mean there are games that i replay, i've played through pathfinder wotr like 4 times for example
NWN i mustve played like 15 times as a kid (just the OC)
but u have to really enjoy a game for that
temple of elemental evil was my first one
DOS was enjoyable but not so enjoyable i'd play it twice
toee was still cool
IDK why TTRPGers tend to dichotomise RP / story vs powergaming. I'm a huge powergamer / minmaxer / spreadsheet junkie / optimiser, yet I'm very invested in the lore and plot
i think they just recently put it on steam or something too
if it's not out yet then it's in the works
DOS is also long
cant speak for the whole ttrpg community but i'm also into both
it just depends on the mindset when booting the game
I have an embarrassing amount of time dumped into chronicon and that's only due to how easy gearing is in that game, guilty pleasure of a game I swear. Just pure numbers nothing else
i do also think that for me the main selling point of DOS was the combat
i will always powergame but 90% of the time i'm invested in lore in cRPGs
i dont give a single damn about lore in arpgs and MMOs
the DOS story was fine but the combat was fantastic
I haven't read too much of the story in LE either
All I know is funny guy turns into worm
ngl i didnt even notice
It was in the name or I wouldn't have noticed either
meanwhile I've been binging LE lore stuff the past couple days 💀
I was like wait a minute
i talked to the first npc once when chapter 1 was different and haven’t talked to anyone since
ik there’s some funky time travel stuff going on
pirate man becomes crab
funniest story change to me was the academy thing
Placing a portal inside it
People got lost 😭
unpopular opinion but i think DOS was a lot more immersive than BG3
I dont think that's a very unpopular opinion.
I agree but I admit I'm very very biased
i despise how there's a pseudo-cinematic every time you talk to a character in BG3
Original sin is my favorite crpg
And I've played a metric ton of them
are speech bubbles not good enough anymore?
i think this is fine when deployed strategically but i can see how it was overused
I've always wanted to try the coop in original sin but none of my friends are into those games so I kept getting dragged into d2 instead
my controversial take is that BG3's success was highly due to marketing strats and design choices targeted towards a wider audience, and not the actual quality of the game
although it is a fine game ofc
Wonder how much of little things like that were Larian's choice
Imagine if it's "new player accessibility"
I have never played Diablo 2, but whenever I come across a horrendous mechanic in an ARPG, the reason is "it's an hommage to D2", so I hate D2 without ever having touched it
i mean those pseudo-cinematics were definitely oriented towards a non-cRPG audience to be like "hey look our game is cool"
d2 is a super innovative game with fantastic itemization systems but after 2k+ hours in LE the qol in d2 is intolerable to me tbh
It's a cripplingly unbalanced game, with the stalest endgame (almost absent), worst case of max amount of entities on the screen (item labels included) and power spike issues across the board. And yet the itemization itself is near perfect
like the forgotten keep woven echo, thankfully you only have to deal with it for 3 minutes per season
Chris Wilson rejected the Auction House and kept insisting on site-based trading for a decade because "Diablo 2 had it like that"
the fact that blizzard refused to incorporate even the world’s most basic qol in the remaster at risk of “tainting a perfect game” or whatever was so inexcusable
the question is why did poe2 launch without an ingame auction house when Johnathan said in an interview on launch that "we can't flop now that people expect things that other games have"
You'd assume he meant we need MG
But no
yeah bro it really ruins your perfect game if you include ground item tooltips
we have it now
