Grim Dawn is pretty amazing. Though I have a few minor quibbles. Like not being able to easily play with your friends unless your DLCs match exactly and not being able to rename a character without editing the save file with a 3rd party tool.
I picked up a game called Last Epoch 🙂 Was gonna wait for 0.9, but decided to just pull the trigger.
The other games like this I was watching were Torchlight 3, Wolcen, and Warhammer: Chaosbane -- but haven't really heard good things about those (other that Wolcen looks pretty).
Titan Quest was made by the same people as Grim Dawn. It's not as polished, being older. But a lot of people liked it.

I picked up Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 because I want to punch Goku. I got to punch Goku, Gohan, Frieza, Raditz, Cooler, Nappa, and several others. I haven't kicked Cell in the stomach yet but I will soon. Highly recommended if you want to punch muscly anime characters, slime girls and aliens in various body parts, including the solar plexus

i belive TL frontiers was marketed as an mmo, first and foremost, and since it is "fashionble" people awaited that exectly. when they changed from a frontier to "3" they also changed said options, the game was redenerd much a singleplayer game, thus people found it to be off. sure the game has few bugs here and there, nothing game breaking, though, and well, i dont think i know of any game build that does not suffers atleast a little bit of lesser bugs here and there.
further more the game classes, the game balance storyline and graphic style highly suggest good continuiation of the franchise, and if any , i am saddned that the developers have been bought by someone else and thus probabaly no one will work on the game further
that being said , the game is decent, i give it a weavy 4\5 , with few major lacks... but its a solid title none the less.
i never botherd with darksiders, so i don't know about your compersions.
but its much closer to TL2 , then D3 to D2.

Yeah, I just mentioned Darksiders 3 because the game was not received well at release and to this day has a Mixed rating on Steam, despite not really something being wrong with it on a larger scale and it simply being different than people anticipated, so I saw parallels to TL3 and was curious how true it was, so thank you on expanding on it.

As someone mentioned before, avoid Chaosbane. It feels like it was designed by someone who has never actually played an ARPG and has only watched gameplay videos. Combat just isn't satisfying and I cannot describe what's wrong with it other than it feels "off". Graphics are nice and it plays well with a controller are the only nice things I can say about it

Van Helsing was always meant to be one game. They did a first part because they didn't have the budget to do everything and check how players would welcome it. And they did it as stand alone as possible (in case they didn't do the other parts).
But for the second part, as their idea was one game, they tried to continue the progression system. But it wasn't working.
So for the third, the previous save wasn't continued and they did a new progression system, with more classes, intended for the whole game but modified to kinda fit a third of a game (which doesn't really work too).
At the end, the three are just part of one same game with differences being the story and the state of development of the whole game.

Other things are important in MMORPGs. The game cycle is very different, so build diversity is less essential
You tend to play one character for a much longer period of time whereas in an ARPG you make new toons more often
Likewise, MMORPGs tend to have a heavy focus on story. E.g. FF14 is a story game for the first 30-40 hours. 🙂

I heard that it is more a Twin-Stick Shooter than an ARPG, although I would like to know what people think about it. All I know is that one shouldn't approach it like ARPG games like Last Epoch and Path of Exile because then one will be disappointed.

I went 26 hours in the first two days, ive also done betas for new world, my experience is based on NA. Theres literally no ques early morning. Its pretty vibe, i like running around getting materials, crafting and making money. If you dont like old school questing it might not be for you

They've added dozens and dozens of new servers since launch. They are actively increasing load, but people are refusing to join the new servers. So while one server has 2k queue, another has 200 players. People are just being stubborn for no good reason.
And because of that, they shut down character creation on high pop servers entirely because people were still trying to start on high queue servers

Hell yes! That is an amazing Roguelike. I love how the meta consistently changes so the game never gets boring. Only thing it lacks is random area gen, because you end up repeated content if you die.

Omg! I am so excited for that. And Monomyth. I was a BIG Ultima Underworld fan back in the day! To me, Soulslike is just an extension of what RPGs were trying in the 1990s when they attempted to go from sprites to full 3D with mouse-look...but most failed miserably. Until Dark Souls. Bethesda's marketing department likely think so. I think there's more anniversary/special/limited/legendary versions than there are quests in the game.

So Ruined King... I can't get a feel for what the game is. Screenshots only seem to be the battle screens. What sort of RPG is it? I've avoided videos for spoiler purposes. Its made by the creators of Battle Chasers: Nightwar, and that was made based off a comic book. Battle Chasers is a dam great game and I've been loving Ruined King, plays the same with some new twists

I just got back into outriders with buddies after the recent change removing expedition timers from the end game, feels like playing whatever the hell I want now. If you treat the game like a Borderlands slaughterfest along with skill trees and gearing, its honestly good fun.

I run the boulderdash set, where it drops the cooldown down to 1s and alternate boulderdash and aoe melee slams to heal myself off the bleed damage. I'm literally unkillable and can face tank in the middle of multiple bosses while allies dish out damage, but still dish out damage myself
