Right as I was debating whether or not I'm still interested in this game, the announcement of the announcement drops and I'm pogging

Alright so went looking so I wasn't banking on pure visuals. We are in fact somewhere in Breach territory, the hive are mentioned a couple times by Xesht in PoE2 and the league name is similar to a couple things related to the Acolyte of Chayula.
What exactly any of it is? Who knows. I'm mostly curious where this fits in to the destruction of the Atlas, previous major threats have almost exclusively been tied to it somehow and now it is gone (or at least inaccessible to us).

I think it's high time we shifted away from the Atlas. Latest bosses were underwhelming in terms of lore, although Zana coming back as a potential villain was cool but unsurprising.

Note, probably not actually Zana. They ended off a blog post with something along the lines of "but was it actually Zana" which is pretty much writing it out in big red lettering "THIS ISNT ZANA"

And in the last chapter of the lore expansion we heard her say to that Eagon guy "I'm not your sister" or "You're not my brother" or something like that.
To me, it felt like she is Zana and he is not who he said he is.
Although, with the blog entry in mind, and remembering that he visually looks like Valdo (jawline and hair colour), it could very well be the case that she indeed is not Zana but someone else. Maybe Zana from another Atlas?

Depends what you want. Chronicon is a bit more traditional ARPG-y in its style and gameplay, while endgame Slormancer can feel almost bullet hell-like at times. Both are very fun games that I can personally recommend though.

Neither Slorm nor Chron have mandatory online to my knowledge, but they're a bit more niche I suppose. So I guess technically yeah unless you wanna count Grim Dawn (though I'd say it's a bit towarss the old end now), these games tend to thrive off of online systems like trading and boss rotations

The problem with that though is that it's really laggy if you need to always be online

I want multiplayer but sometimes I just want to turn it off when I'm not trading or doing endgame boss runs and stuff

Depends on server infrastructure and client-side stuff as well, I've rarely had issues with any of the online only games in the genre outside of their big hiccups (which are usually something major failing or an outage on their server provider's end)

That one can be settings related. I exclusively set it to Lockstep mode, Predictive is awful

(I will note that their EU servers can sometimes be dreadful, which afaik is just a consequence of EU routing in general)

I'd say so. Set it to lockstep, make sure it's connected to a nearby server (depending on where you are it may be different than what you expect; I play on Canada for example despite my closest technically being US East, it just tends to be more stable in my experience), and always make sure you don't have anything that might be eating up significant bandwidth.
Also if you have the option to use a wired connection over wireless that can sometimes completely change how it behaves.

the missile doesn't scale with weapon dmg at all... Unless you get special gear that gives it weapon dmg
And since it's elemental dmg it deals fire, cold & lightning at same time
which is worse than concentrating on a single type of dmg

I'm not trying to be mean, but have you taken the time to like deep dive or understand whatever mechanic better? It's very easy to just throw your hands up and say this sucks, I suck, this is shit w.e. but like have you tried to learn the core/basics and why certain things are effective etc.?

The storytelling in wolcen is too fantastic. It's just less than d4 because d4 spend much more money on hiring as a top game company.

But the action in combats is quite stiff. I always get physical block when I want to move.

Just pass chapter 1 but the experience on rhythm (the balance between dialogues, exploration and cinematic scenes) is pretty well
