Poe has an issue with testing before releases they only get so few people to alpha test leagues the pop every 3 moth ISH
That many changes and added mechanics in such fast cycle is very hard to balance ,and they over spoiled us with content so we always expect it to work and be more or less polished
I understand the reason why they do it it's so we didn't datamine stuff before it get released and sometimes a week before patch notes is not enough for people to plan things
Ok Haze give me your best online arpg cuz imo LE isn't exactly there yet 👀
so in d4, blizzard not only stole most of the ideas for item stuff... they also stole 1 shot mechanics for higher pit levels recently... i once was roasted.. and even had to be given timeouts replying to the ignorant people who didn't understand that 1 shot mechanics are dumb... guess what... blizzard's forums are in an uproar over the incredible stupidity of running easily through minions of a 61rst level pit only to get 1 shot by the boss.. you get nothing from the minions so it's a complete waste of time.
Stole one-shot mechanics from who/what? One shot mechanics existed in D3 lol
I wish they also 'stole' other ideas D3 like the transparent map overlay etc
Diablo 4 stole the idea of items
Map for sure 😭
if you keep cranking up the difficulty on a game mode incrementally the same hit that did 50% of ur health will eventually do 60%, 70%, 80% etc... until it becomes a 1 shot. one shots are considered hard pass/fail mechanic checks when done on non-scaled content and have been around forever.
An example of a one shot mechanic in an old game like mario 64 is just being on a platform, where clean precise movement is the mechanic check.
and if u fall off u die (aka fail)
wut? why on earth would I do that? O_O
if ur getting 1 shot by the level 61 pit boss but clearing everything else easily, try figuring out what specifically you are dying to. is it a phys hit is it an ele hit, etc...
then build that defensive layer
Because you reacted with a vomit emoji
Yeah because I don't like poe. Tried it. Made me hate arpgs for years until LE came out.
Fair
I've been playing PoE since its beta, before it was available on steam, I'm currently in act 9, hoping to finish at least the campaign one day. 😁😅
I mean, it's not THAT hard...it's just stupidly unbalanced and they claim it's intentitonal until they're forced to admit fault in laziness and nerf mob damage pre-maps.
Impossible youve been playing since beta and never reached map yet
It's not impossible. I bought Planetary annihilation back when it was in EA and played it on and off totalling around 3-4 hours max over a period of time. And I loved Total Annihilation. Something about PA was off. Possibly the fact there was no campaign nor different faction units.
It is because I don't like the game that much, that's why. But I want to finish what I started. 😅
Yeah, I shared this news earlier last month. it was a disappointment move
They shouldn't changed the original core gameplay
Bruh I just lost my stuff reading this how u are unable to finish a campaign when it's there as a tutorial of the game ,not trying to be rude but trying to understand why u struggling ,like a made a guide for Spanish community to face roll campaign in like 8-11 hours and that is "slow"
The only thing I can recommend is grab a build guide and follow it to understand how gem and links work u can beat it on blue items
U might not like it but it's gonna be 1 time thing so u can understand how things work as u progress . Yes it's a complex old game with a lot of layers in it ,just use a guide and follow it
People put effort in to them just for this reason
It's not a meme when so many people struggle to go through it when going in blind and in last 6 years I have only met like 4-5 people that actually beat it on their first try going blind
it's easy to understand, aprg is not for everyone and as such, what is considered child play for average arpg player may be uni math for others
Yea I can agree on that ,but we do have a loooot of guides and tools for this
I really don't like saying if the campaign u find as a burden then the game is not for you
It is like an mmo u can always find something u like to do rather it be crafting ,mapping or doing specific mechanics
Who you replying to? If it's Texalic he made it pretty clear he doesn't like PoE much. It doesn't have much to do with the difficulty or learning curve.
It's like how I know how beloved Hades is but I refuse to play it because I find it boring, music is annoying for me (other than the initial bit of the main theme) and I dislike the roguelike aspect.
Yea it was for Texa I didn't want to ping ,I can only tolerate that soundtrack from Hades for few hours a day I guess I understand the point lol
I can only stand it for like 5 minutes
Disliking something for something that u haven't even finished the tutorial is very weird to me but I guess I m shielding Poe
It isn't a game for everyone
Bastion and its soundtrack is their best game for me personally
I could swear I've had this convo with you before loool
Dejavu
I mostly getting people annoyed for liking lost ark campaign and the visuals there's some parts of it that is just so beautiful
Maybe I m in gaming rooms with around 400 k people lol we may have met somewhere else
Actually wolcen also has a great campaign but how game works people just get triggered by only hearing the name of the game
There's is reasons for it so can't really blame them for anything, the players I mean
Some people just don't get it, even if you exclude the passive tree that looks like a galaxy.
I think the worst confusion comes from simple mechanics, like gems for example. It's hard to explain to one that gems are similar to skills and even if they do get it look at the tags, active and passive gems, how they change requirements while you level them, linking gems, etc. Now combine this with items like Crown of the Inward Eye, where the only desc you have on the item is: transfiguration of soul/mind/body. How the "f" you suppose to get around that in your head. Also, without pob, try to explain the difference between "% increase damage" and "% to damage". We were laughing about damage desc pre season 4 D4, but man PoE does it too, just more subtle.
Now we have 2 trees and when u hit end game up to 5
Bit yea there's no tutorial that says go to Ur settings activate mod description then hit alt over an item to see what specific named mods do
And regarding the % damage modifier it's same as any game really, more is always better that Inc that's the law of physics
I mean honestly if you like a campaign/lore for a game I respect you more. Like I absolutely love even tidbits of lore in games like slay the spire.
It's more for thing that if I get interest in understanding campaign I think people did they job right
If it brings curiosity it's not just a go thru filler
I think of it like a movie
what to play till LE next cycle, 1 month feels too long
could try traditional roguelikes like tales of maj'eyal
it's cheap
the first descendant is supposed to come out this summer too, but dunno when
they're announcing the release date friday i think
Hi
Slay the Spire, Monster Train, Terraria, Stardew Valley
D4 Brawhalla
don't seem like any game I'll touch for the rest of my life though
thinking of playing some pet builds of TQ1 or GD hmm
where the real pet builds are
Can try Poe and build a minion build with around 60+ minions lul
I call it the gang build
uhm, no, I'm more than done with this league
normally I won't spend more than 1 month in a season of any arpg, be it poe, LE or d4
That's fair I do same
I usually comeback at end if bored just to clear stash and maybe make something fun
you even bother to clear stash, for me, everything of the season stays in season, or with delete button, nothing comes out of it
Ohh my have u checked Ur standard stash lately I m close to 100+ remove only stashes
If not more after last few leagues but I do mass hoard for other builds I want to try and never have time
as in, I literally delete chars when new league starts, so nothing comes out of it, and I do the same for every single seasonal arpg
I don't keep anything in standard, and never intend to touch it
Just saw this happen again (not Deias), is this a friend playing jokes or someone else?
I have no idea who this is, but probably someone else in the same crowd
As long as you don't want us to do anything, all good though please reach out if it gets annoying. I can see who's doing it.
Damn you got a stalker
my biggest complaint with the new loot system in d4 is that you can't choose tempers like you can enchants
like a option 1, 2, or no replace
it's everyone's biggest complaint
I hope dev back down on this and add a no replace option
a no replace would be nice yeah
but a few times i've bricked an item cause i couldn't get the temper i needed
though i guess it's not too bad, idk
like bricking items isn't necessarily a bad thing in and of itself
like in LE it's fine
but something about tempering in d4 leaves me wanting just a bit more control i guess
I think it's because LE gives you some leeway, but D4 doesn't.
to be fair the reward for crafting in d4 is much larger than in LE
double casting a skill, nothing in LE can beat that
then there's 50% duration of a durational skill, imagine flame shield duration lasting 50% longer, that's massive
i guess so, idk. I'm doing double casting with blight and it just feels okay
it' doesn't feel as cool as say casting smite on hammer throw hit with LE's paladin
through the idol
auto-casting corpse explosion and tendrils through the ring in D4 is alright though i guess
i forgot the ring's name, Ring of Sacrilegious something
i am hoping with the d4 expansion they add paladin though
Lorewise that would be female only so I doubt it. I think it will be templar or something
speaking of, game fest is today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZzia5NrMuU
might see details on the expansion then
i assume maybe at least since blizzcon is cancelled this year
Is that the same dude who hosted game awards?
I thought summer game fest was some other day but I mightve gotten things mixed up
Oh ofc it. The channel is the same lol
ignore me @round elm
darn, I know some money has to be spent in 2025, civ 7 trailer is just out
no d4 at game fest main show, but there's still the xbox show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LZM-mxaPlQ
and maybe we'll see some TQ2 stuff at the pc gaming show? dunno https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=af4QRDcl3r8
could be gamescom we see anything though
<@&1161418687471956101> spam
<@&1161418687471956101> this seems like a spam
guy has posted nothing else here
ty
Damn it I hate these games with zombos. Why can't they use skeles for once...
It's showing now at least
Yep
They saved the best for last it seems
I might get xbox gamepass just to play the expansion lol
I don't think I want to pay full price for such an annoying npc 'lead'
Shrug. I liked Neyrelle.
Well there were some interesting titles from that direct but cod mw6 definitely wasn't one of them
Ok.
XGP never included expansions before, is that new?
Well people mentioning price tag so I m assuming is over 50$ so it's like a game XD
If we're talking D4 expansion it's $40
418 hours for me to finally beat A20H on all four characters
Silent was the hardest. Watcher the easiest.
i like neyrelle too tbh
anyway site was updated with features https://diablo4.blizzard.com/en-us/vessel-of-hatred
jungle area sounds cool, i like jungles
oh it's the jungle from Diablo 2, derp
also more news on July 18th
Yeah, Maguuma in GW2 is my favorite area so I feel ya.
i always wanted an elder scross set in Valenwood or Elsweyr
something about jungles / dense forests get me
They're just really cool. My only issue with them is games really like making obscenely large spiders in them and I do not handle them well. Not as bad for an ARPG since it's pretty far and detached so the visuals don't trigger the fear as hard.
My roommate says "Valenwood is automatically better because it has cannibal elves."
I'm not sure exactly what this means.
lol
bosmer (wood elves) are cannibals in lore
it's called uh
The Green Pact I think?
I've accidentally eaten wood chips before, I guess I'm in on it now
Yeah, the art of it looks sick as well
though imma be hoenst and say I just really want a sword and board character, even if we don't get a paladin
Seems to be using a polearm/spear of some kind as well, which I think is Barb locked rn?
yeah i think so? i haven't played a barb yet
I get that. I'm a Rogue and Necro main most of the time. But I'll definitely try it.
i kind of only really got back into the game with season 4
was pretty disappointed at launch
but season 4 is really good
er, story was fine. I liked doing it. but post-story was very dull to me
S4 is great, yeah. I've played every season, some more than others. Season 0 and 4 have gotten the most time for me.
I'm weird and unironically enjoy nightmare dungeons with like, no caveats
i don't mind nightmare dungeons, it was just very samey after a while at launch
upping helltides, having whispers reward more gold for when you need it, etc. changed the monotony a fair bit
i know it's small differences really, but my brain just gets so bored doing the same thing over and over
Yeah I get that. I'm a big Pit enjoyer I'm just bad at it lol
lol
but yeah i'll probably play a fair bit of season 4 until first descendant comes out next month or something
already started my second character this season
want to do more for sure
Aye, I'm working on my Necro recently. I wanna try bossing with it, Bone Spirit has some very funny damage output.
I tried First Descendant in beta but my laptop can't really run it well sadly
sad, it's gonna be on console at least if you have one
and yeah i did necro first this season, messed around with blight / corpse explosion
doing frozen orb sorceror now
Only a PS4 and we gotta try and run repairs on it :P
I always start Rogue just cuz I really like the gameplay of it, but it doesn't quite have the damage of some others right now so it's not as equipped for bossing
ah gotcha
i usually like ranged characters, unless it's like classic hammerdin (but i guess that's still range anyway)
i wonder if spiritborn will be able to use javelins
It would be neat to see javs make a return. Hopefully they'd also try to make it fit into another class at the same time as well.
Might actually be doable since they did say current classes would be getting new skills as well.
oo, i hope we get a skill tree expansion then
Holy moly followers are back? That's great lol
I can't wait to hopefully revisit the Kurast docks
Gold and mat pick ups? That's one thing I am liking for sure. If only PoE did the same (at least give us the option for vacuum)
Damn it what's wrong with me that I want to get the ult edition...
I do wonder though if Spiritborn will compete with druid (turning into animals and such)
oh the pets were added today seemingly, I have a doggo now
you get a quest added to your log for it upon login
Yeah, I just haven't been able to get on. Been on caretaker mode for today.
Just reporting yet another bot account, if any <@&1161418687471956101> wants to deal with moraslopez: I've been getting spam DMs and friend requests from them.
Nah, I suspect this class is a willpower int hybrid aka druid necro hybrid
And damn it, the gate at the end of the trailer, that damn gate
$40 down the drain I guess
And merc, finally, what's a diablo game without merc
I feel like one of the only people that doesn't actually care about mercs
Most arpg players don't, but this is diablo, so without merc, it's like the soul is incomplete
Oh boi, mephisto is back to kurast, d2 memory intensifies
I guess? I honestly didn't pay attention to it in D3 and in D2 I found it more of an annoyance to deal with than anything
yeah i don't really care either personally
i'm thinking spiritborn is a cross between amazon and witch doctor
maybe witch doc too, kurast is homeland of witch doc after all
darn it, so many people with angelic wingback already
Damn it that link threw me off. I thought it was a spam link lol.
how is everybody doing this fine day?|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || @waxen sonnet
not fine, account down 40 bucks
You didn't have to buy the expansion
I've been using Gamepass for 3 years? I don't think the expansion be available on gamepass
I don't think I wanna play a premium price game with a mediocre setup.
not that I have to, I was tempted to, and I gave in to temptation
hi
Is that all you ever have to say?
All your messages have been: hello, hii, hi, hi
Same
I wish there's some exclusive on game pass users though
just trying to differentiate with buyers
Just started Loop Hero on mobile, I might buy it on Steam instead
It's pretty good
A friend of mine really enjoys that one
It's a nice game but I got bored of it after a while. Love the music before the first boss fight. Cosmic temperance goes hard.
hey D4 team, how many charrs have you donse yet ion s4?
Someone mentioned that it was a freaking 60% off discount few days ago now I m mad
I really don't want pay full price for it
Surprisingly I have not spoiled any of game to my self since release because I want to get at some point
necro 100, barb 100, rogue ~65 for the recipe :p
pretty good season
get gamepass like 14€ a monthes, or what it is called by microsft,
ye i made a rogue 2 becus of it damm barbs
i really enjoyed heartseeker levelling tho
wouldve been nice, WT2 sucked a bit
everyone wanted to leech and nobody did damage
😛 well ye it is slow
Well have lvled up 8 charrs to 85+
only 1 necro and my barb is 100 yet lul
well im trying to lvl 1 up, but is kind boring lul. Thinking of lvl a few more charrs till Rank 18 ironwolf
but gona try and see how the Stygian drop drat feels from pit befor start lvling
but now i need to do pits for like 7-9h 😄 so i Can copmberd the stygian stones
Yea but I don't usually don't play "new" games today ,I might just get it this weekend I have 17 day vacation after this week
Need to find my self something to do untill 9 th next month since Poe league got postponed and I m not starting another valheim lol
Maybe if there was a group but to hard to find dedicated people that woul play same hours
well d4 cost like 4-5 monthes of the pass
It's still like like 70$ for base to play no ?
Ok what the base cost for playing ?
God damn I really don't want to give blizz more that 70 at this point
Running to grab some Chinese take away and be back ,body need some food inside
all of my irl friends have the freaking pass i just for some reason to stubborn to get it i dont play that much of new games and just grind poe and other things of seasson
but still d4 is something i want to get for my library more like a colection log than anything
i do have probably 20k plus hours in wow and around 4 k hours in diablo games didnt play vanilla d2
you just missed a 35€ sale for the base game https://isthereanydeal.com/game/diablo-iv/history/
35 bucks is like 2 takeaways sadegg
i l take the hit at some point and just get it , my hate for blizz is not that bad as for some people
at the end of the day they give me more hours than i payed for
Expansion bundle doesn't seem bad if you want to buy it, currently better than buying a base game plus dlc separately...
where is my 129€ exp pack and 4days pre start 😄
You are 1 year late
alredy got it then 😛
f it i had to much beers and its 10:40 pm xd i guess i go do some arams
dont judge lul
lets make some people mad for a change
129 euros sounds like i d wait for semptember btw
arams?
yep if the game let me update
No I mean whaat is aram?
ohh LoL game mode
kk
sorry makes sence mentioning it xd
man i got spoiled starting necromancer this season in d4, everything feels worse in comparison. Looked it up and Necro is apparently very good this season
like S tier all by itself
I played all 5 char this season, yesterday I finish my necro ebonpiercer build to 100 and max all glyph, suddenly got fatigue and prolly done with season
now back for some GD
Well necro kind dont even need gear :P, but the rest of the classes is good too but req abit more investments,
it still needs gear, unless you never intend to play the real endgame which is the pit
and contrary to initial belief, minion necro is not even in the top 5 of pushing builds of the season
well only source i Can get is from the streamers and diffrent discord, where ppl have send in
and so Far only sorc ithink have done 150
higest necro is like 142
the only legit leaderboard this season I recall is maxroll, which ended 1 week ago, and in that board, necro appeared somewhere in top 15, but not even in top 10, left alone top 5
Well no one rly care about thet leader bord tbh
currently the best pushing builds are immortal sorc or barb, some kind of barb
except everyone watching a d4 streamer
which is, well, a lot
every major d4 streamer took part in that leaderboard, so it's wrong to say no one cared about that
anyway, it's hard to believe necro suddenly jumps massively in the ranking when there's no buffs at all for the last 2 patches
oh I forgot, holy bolt usage was banned on maxroll leaderboard, that's why necro couldn't even enter top 50, but with that elixir, the story may be very different
or they got lazy 😄 but ye holybolt makes a diffrent
Fishing pits are kind boring tbh
i dont know why they not just did put one leaderbord in
laziness, I can't think of any other reason, same as not having an official trade site
who knows it mby come mid uppdate 😛
we got the pet so who knows how mutch more suprises we gona get
Still think leaderboard & trade site should've been there from the start
and you just know that people will praise blizzard when they finally implement them
i will morte say Finaly lol
but the 3part Site thet they suport is pretty good tbh
I don't think blizzard will ever make a trade site, it's like a matter of principle or something for them, maybe ingame auction house like d3 did, but not trade site
a ah whould be nice, Becuse then you Can alwyes sell and buy and dont need to be online
you wot?
Torchlight Infinite next season launching July 4
Rod Fergusson: "When you launch something, you're always doing it with a set of assumptions. We had the assumption that Diablo 4 was meant to be more Diablo 2-like. And so one of the assumptions was that people were going to be okay with the long grind for the Unique or an Uber Unique in particular."
i think they misintepreted what people wanted from D2
or they listened to a very small minority
they just dont get it at all unfortunately - they copied the long grind without understanding why it was fun (aka finding interesting stuff along the way, especially also for other chars)
he's right about farming the same boss over and over for the shako, he's wrong about how bloody inaccessible d4 duriel is compared to d2 meph
along the way, not so much to be honest here
d2 boss farming has always been about getting there as fast as possible, except if you're not boss farming like in the case of cow level and arcane sanctuary, or terror zone farming
let's be fair here, all the need for boss summoning mats, they copy from poe, not d2
Nope they got it from D2 :)
Uber Diablo trio required certain body parts from uber lilith (andy) and uber duriel and I think uber whatever that traitor angel was.
I never really did ubers in D2 but I know you were required to do uber lilith and duriel at the very least.
Oh just looked and you were supposed to also fight countess, summoner and nihlathak for keys to access the mid tier ubers.
So yea they took the idea from D2 imo.
sure, if you look at uber boss in d2 and the fact that they only drop hellfire torches but no other notable items
but the system in d4 is more akin to poe than d2, in a sense that the lower bosses drop lower tier items, and the uber bosses drop more sought after items
also in d2, hellfire torches are tradable, both unid and id, d4, just wtf
I believe, sooner or later, uber unique will become tradable
anyway, euro cup starting in a few hours, so hyped
You specifically mentioned summoning mats being copied from PoE. I just wanted to correct that :p
which I think is not true as well, in d2 all 3 bosses that drop keys doesn't require mats to summon them, in d4, it's just like normal vs uber boss in poe
It's much more convoluted in D2 lol
I prefer the d2 way to poe way tbh
I prefer the D3 way
which is no way
It's the best way
best way is to not play game
I mean there are better games out there like slay the spire 💯
didn't d3 have something you had to get mats to summon for? i forget what
maybe i'm wrong tho, i really don't remember
but yeah idk, i prefer d4 to d3 by far
d3 just felt like All Rifts All the Time: The Game
d4 has a bit more mix to the monotony, like doing whispers to get more gold
simple difference, but i appreciate none the less
It had a very annoying way at first but then they changed it so you just fight a specific enemy and that drops a certain key which opens a portal to specific uber boss fights.
This is what I miss in D4. I can't go back to D4 right now and will only play it when the expansion drops.
Yea but I guess I meant rifts and not grs. Grs are cool and all but I liked loot dropping as I go. Idk.
oh i see
idk, i feel like helltides serve the same purpose
do gotta open the chests tho but yeah
helltides do exactly what rifts did with more stuff happening, its my perfect replacement too
yeah, helltide is rift but 10x better
but rift gives you the zoom zoom feeling similar to poe that helltide doesn't
helltide nowadays is just summoning maiden boss for infinite items and cinders
Nah that feels more like going and doing bounties in D3. Oh and I definitely prefer bounties in D3 too lol.
I guess I'm just too used to D3 zoom zoom builds
god i hated d3 bounties
Same but with the right amount of zoom I don't need to worry
agree, d4 whisper is ways less worse, I mean less worse, nowhere say it's good
d4 content don't really offer anything open map enough to feel zoom zoom, and even the movement skills of all classes reflect the philosophy that they don't want zoom zoom in d4
and I think it's fine, some have zoom zoom, some have slower style, all are good in its own way and have its own fanbase
Idk rogue feels pretty amazing depends very much on the class
Sorc can zoom very well too
well, compared to the level of zoom zoom in d3 and poe
d4 game speed is more in line with, for example, LE
i'm doing the boulder/hurricane druid combo on my druid this season and it's pretty slow compared to my Necro
but by slow i jus tmean movement speed
still feels okay though, idk. I don' tknow if i like the boulder/hurricane gameplay honestly
i wasn't a fan of barb the little i tried of it either, but i think i'm gonna give it another go
I tried bash barb, very strong, but not a big fan of it
my latest build before I quit the season was ebonpiercer build
Well anyway I am a little excited for the expansion because companions are coming back (solo play should be a little less boring with that I hope!)
I'm not sure if they will be hireable throwaways like in D2 or permanent choose one to follow you like in D3. I dunno which one I prefer more. Probably the latter but the former is what they might go with to make us spend some more gold lol.
hireable throwaways?
in d2 when your merc is dead, you revive him, not throwaway
but anyway, merc will have a skill tree this time, not sure if it's only a simple one like d3 or a more complex one like van helsing
Yes but if you swap to another hireling the previous one is gone.
I mean it didn't make much difference in the end game since you'd basically keep one
i wonder if mercs are for the new co-op thing they're doing so people that solo can still do it
But early game you could throw them away
i don't really get the hype for it
in d3 they felt like an afterthought to me
maybe d4 will improve on it though dunno
I don't care about it in other arpgs but in Diablo (other than D1 which I never played) I just can't imagine not having followers.
yeah, it's a feature of diablo, a part of its soul
Yea that's fine
and in august we can see the 1st gameplay demo for TQ2
yeah, is it gamescom ot something?
in cologne
this time round the dev of TQ2 even receives financial support from german gov
There are three arpgs I'm interested in this year/2025. Grim Dawn expansion, PoE2 and D4 expansion. Most interested in grim dawn ofc but I still want to play the others.
talking about GD, I recently install a mod and run the game at 1.5x of base speed, best decision ever, the speed is now on par with other arpg, just nice for me
Slormancer?
Grim Internals?
I have that game and need to play it again at some point lol
It's the better choice compared to hero seige for sure.
Kinda feeling like some Diablo2
Worth investigating?
i heard hero siege was kinda mid, but i haven't played it myself
It is pretty mid
slormancer is fun, maybe I should pick it up too, few months ago I was hooked in this totem huntress build, so fun
Fixed an issue where casting Boulders with Dolmen Stone would cause it to not cast at all. Boulders now have a limit of 10 but their damage is increased by 10% for each boulder.
I thought they already fixed this but I guess not, but that should make my boulder druid feel a lot better either way. Nice.
I'll have to bring him back out when the patch drops
I think I put 3 hours on Minecraft Dungeons in 2 days. 😂
Nice
Yeah, with this new monitor the colors would pop out and make it enjoyable to play
but their fault is making a linear game on a non linear layout.
Back to GD and feel so nice, kinda a slow game so I install mod to make the whole game run 50% faster, now it's butter smooth, still far from poe level of zoom zoom but more than enough
Haven't played GD for over a year at least lol never tried the mods neither
It does feel like enjoyable game first few times
I don't want to try content mods, so only qol mods are used
Why does BBC have the volume going up to 11... They couldn't keep it at 10?
coz the british don't like SI units and everything scaling in the magnitude of 10?
It's a reference to Spinal Tap - These go to 11
Nice
It's a fun easter egg to a hilarious movie
Yeah, it was a reference of Spinal Tap, even Beatles have 24/8 in BBC radio
There was a volume level on 20, but Music standard starting to ban anything that compete in the loudness war.
Meh mostly a useless direct https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HorTUKvj0K8
I guess those who like metroid and mario might enjoy the new games shown
Oh and Legend of Link
useless?!
they're bringing back Marvel babyyyyy
with rollback
tho i guess fightcade already existed, but still
official version is nice to have
and it's a collection, not just MvC2. Children of the Atom is in there too
Hello Everyone, with the blessing of @mortal dragon , I'm thrilled to share our passion project with you - action RPG called Carbon. We are small indie team Hardwired Studios and our game is for everyone who is missing sci-fi in diablo-like genre. Really appreciate any feedback. Wishlist now on Steam and be part of this exciting adventure from the very beginning!
link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3012300/Carbon/
screenshots look cool, i'll add it to my wishlist and check out more later
Reminds of Grim Dawn but set in the future. I hope the game turns out to be pretty good!
I should specify I'm talking about the guns lol
Oh, looks great, wishlisted for sure. 😃
EA when... 😁
thanks. early access is probably too soon to tell but we are aiming for kickstarter plus october steam fest demo
isn't GD future too? post aocalypstic setting is usually future
Looks pretty cool. I'll wishlist it and keep an eye out.
Pretty sure it's set during/before industrial revolution. Other than the magic guns are kinda basic?
There are some portable cannons in plains of strife, aren't there?
But yeah it's certainly not in future
yeah there are
it's kind of post-apocalyptic for its era, like after the aetherials invaded i guess
but it's def like steampunk too
kind of post-apoc if the apocalypse happened during the industrial revolution i guess
no, the gun tech level is indeed industrial revolution, but that's because apocalypse set back the tech tree
remember Einstein said? WW4 will be fought with stick and stone, I don't think it's that bare bone but 18th century weaponry is the best they can do post-apocalyptic
Thanks! Bigger wishlist is always better 🙂
D4 rogue totem skill looks cool
Loool D4 bringing in ultimatum xD
wut?
new roguelike endgame looks fun
next season I think I'll play CL sorc lol
with that new unique
anyway, more endgame is always good, give option to players and make endgame less boring/repetitive
lol I read the campfire summary again, sorc is dead, druid is also dead
Was druid ever alive?
I have not followed very carefully d4 news but I feel like they were always a bit behind, no?
Was one of the best picks last league iirc
s3 I didn't play so idk
barb has always been the best, even after the 1001st nerf
I swear the lead char dev is a barb main back in d2
hmm, really tempted to play elden ring but I have skill issue with souls like games, so maybe I'll pass
I'm hearing it's hard as hell. I don't have the patience for getting punched in the face by a game over and over.
Elden Ring is probably the easiest of the From Soft souls-likes. Though I’d say Sekiro is a better experience because of how much your skill matters.
Addendum; the DLC is just not very well balanced and that's where most of the difficulty discussion is coming from right now
Indeed
hmm, guess I'll stay far away from souls like
my game reaction wasn't fast when I was younger, surely worse now
Also apparently a lot of people refuse to use in game mechanics like summoning bell etc because "it's cheating"
Or they don't lvl up the dlc thing for some reason
summons are not balanced for DLC, they get nearly instan-killed. they're still good in base game, though
And yes, I know people like this.
They'll go in with only R1 spam because "that's the only real way"
If you're going to try any, try Sekiro. That has the least reliance on reaction time, as it's practically a rhythym game. It might still be very difficult though.
Takes the fun out of the game.
It does
Tbh it did take me a long time to get used to the ashes of war and also using the flask for buffs
Nah, unlike souls like games which I like but can't do well, rhythm games I actually hate
Part of the reasons I hate doing bosses in arpg too
I don't like to memorize choreographically
Ah, okay.
My friends who played since DS1 would say: Skill Issue.
Yea darksiders 1 is pretty easy imo
From someone who hates the Soulsborne type games, I play to relax not bash my head against a wall, Elden Ring has been fun! Nowhere near completing it, only play sporadically at best and not touched the DLC yet - I'd say it's worth a try if you find yourself with access to it
I’ve played every game in the series bar Demon Souls. “Skill issue” is not at all an accurate motto for the games. It’s unfortunate when it’s spouted ‘cause it just makes people feel alienated and doesn’t contribute to helping anyone: :/
the only game I somewhat care about skill is cs2, the rest, just entertainment, and entertainment shouldn't need skill or training day and night to achieve something
the only time you need skill is when you're out of entertainment and into competition
But sometimes skill is nice to have as the game can be more entertaining. If Slay the Spire were super easy even at the highest ascensions I'd have quit the game ages ago.
StS being difficult is what makes having some skill/knowledge as well as relying on rng makes the game more interesting.
It took me over 400 hours in StS to get A20H wins on all four characters and when you get those sweet victories then it feels like you achieved something great.
Otherwise might as well play some super easy game like Stardew Valley (I'm aware it's not easy easy but you never go into negative money for example).
And I love both types lol.
To add on to the dlc discussion they added a new mechanic for scaling that you basically have to interact with.
damn the trailer got me hyped|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || @waxen sonnet
difficulty doesn't necessarily require skill
take arpg for example, just need time, luck for better items
and again, how much skill is enough
it's when you spend more time honing a skill ingame than a skill irl, that's where the issue begins, unless you earn money from playing games
That's actually what eventually got me to quit playing Overwatch. I wasn't having fun getting beat on, and grinding for "skill" in a video game, especially one I wasn't making money from, felt like even more of a waste of energy than people who troll twitter/x all day.
Plus I get no satisfaction from being skilled at games, or "getting good" as it were.
really depends on the individual, clearly there are many players out there to enjoy difficult games
im a recording musician as my other hobby, so practicing and git gud is kinda what i do , even recreationally for "fun"
many ppl with hobbies like whether an amateur pool player, rock climbing etc do it over and over again without any financial gain.
I'm aware they do. I won't ever do it though. It's pointless to me.
Or skill. Lol
I'm similar to @narrow token , but by all means I respect the players trying to git gud at their fun activities too
it's all about whether you need that dopamine or endorphine
Try killing PoE pinnacle bosses without skill (with exception to a few super op builds) and then see if you need skill or not
which is why I either don't play non OP builds (no need top 5 but OP nonetheless), or I skip poe bosses entirely
meta is constantly shifting anyway so I don't need to repeat the same build every season
POE pinnacles arent hard mechanically but getting there will be the first hurdle
Sirus is hard with just 6 portals on a first try for most people
last league I got all my favorite map slots without doing a single boss anyway, it's easy in poe
its different from say souls/ no rest for the wicked etc
poe and games inspired by d2 are more knowledge than skill
Damn dude that's kinda sad I can't lie. I get not going ubers (I suck at them myself) but not doing normal pinnacle bosses is a little sad lol.
d4 is just braindead but theres fun for the casual i guess
nothing sad about it, I'm quite open in this channel for a long time already that I hate doing boss in any arpg, not just poe
I'm not socially compelled to do everything the game has to offer, just do what I like and avoid what I don't like
its not for me for sure i feel i waste my time even putting hours
agree with this, arpg bosses are more about when you see this boss animation, you know how much damage it deals, and know whether you can facetank it or you should stand in a certain location or move in a certain pattern to avoid it
test your knowledge much more than your skill
Yea sure but to me that's like doing A0 in Slay the Spire and not going any further than that. I mean you do you or something but I think it's kinda a waste lol.
nothing waste, I get everything I want including boss specific items because trade happens
irl offer rock climbing and diving too, I don't do it, and I don't feel my life is wasted at all
being forced to do what I don't like, that's where I feel my time is wasted
actually how much mechanically harder is elden ring compared to darksiders series?
Do you mean demon souls/dark souls? Darksiders is a different genre lol
no, darksiders, I'm comparing difficulty with that, because that's the kind of game I can beat
the only DS game I played is DS1, and for like 15min, then I never look back at souls series ever since
Darksiders is easy and boring
I played that game for like 30 minutes and uninstalled it lol
its ok to be frustrated in souls thats the only thing you gotta be prepared for
sit back and return you might just overcome
its a game, its not as hard as real life ventures after all
darn, that's slower than the speed I uninstalled DS1
Honestly I probably would enjoy soulslike games more than games roguelike games (except turnbased). God I hate Hades lol.
I wanted to like it but I couldn't. Same how I don't have any interest in GoW or GoT lol.
that's why there are so many games out there that surely 1 or 2 will fit someone's liking
not that I reject skill-based games entirely, quite the opposite, I absolutely love cs2 for example
but when it comes to rpg, I don't like to use skill that much compared to fps or moba
as an ex fps pro who played overseas multiple times in my younger days etc i dont think so, pve games can still invoke the feeling of learning and improving. in the end of the day if you wanna play games just to relax there are games that do just that
you can play CS for a decade but only joining pub games and not proper 5v5 with actual strategies
improving can be in terms of knowledge, not necessarily skill
CS on ffa pub is nothing like the real tournament structure
you just play get lucky with kills and have your fun
nah, I do see myself doing more headshots over the years, that's definitely skill improvement
yeah but its not the game in tournament level
anyone can get better with aim
actual strategies are alot different
of course not, not like I care about that level, I'm not making money from game, no motivation to get there
think about the teams who practice 10 hours a day and not even reach a final
they earn no money either but they push on and some succeed over time
no you need passion first not money as an incentive
I need both
thats you but others dont
yes, and nothing wrong with either parties
everyone's motivation to improve is different
its a mentality that is rewarding in anything you choose to do in life
i dont know if you or anyone else are good at anything so it shouldnt matter
it matters to me that what I should be good at, should also make money
for me thats abit sad because in the creative world it begins with passion not financial gain
I don't blindly improve at something just to get some mental reward out of it
it should be an intrinsic reward rather than material
again, different people have different practicality level
some live for ideology, some live for material, some in between, all are fine
i work a professional job and earn money, i can separate my own creative ventures and gaming without selling out for example
that's why I don't try to improve game skill, enough to have fun
stay with d4 i guess
I have more hours in poe than d4 I also guess
its seriously the bottom end of the genre for me atm
i tried the current season and just told myself to quit every hour so mu experience is very negative
it's ok
don't like don't play
same as I don't like skill based rpg I also don't play
there's no right or wrong here, just people thinking others doing it wrongly
yeh now i can accept that , enough games out there to cater for anyone
souls games without live service mtx etc ppl can still invest thousands of hours
it's not about accepting anything, no one has the right to accept anything for another person
it's like a vegan 1 day telling meat eater: hey I accept your preference to eat meat, like what is that
well still your POE builds are likey copied from players who put the hard yards first and foremost
yes, and that is not a problem
some find fun theorycrafting builds, others find fun playing the builds
all are having fun
its the effort and git gud thing i refer to
if you worked on your own builds you know it takes trial and error and effort
they may not earn alot of money in doing so
"they"
important to highlight
told you right? all those kinds of fun are equally respectable
be it making builds or executing the builds
everyone is different and enjoys different things
sharing knowledge is a very generous thing
so what's your point? I believe for the past hour or so, not a single sentence did I discredit those kind hearted people doing things without material gain
I don't need a conversion
im just providing a different insight. one you also benefit from
no thanks, I surely don't
I and "they" are different
and like I said repeatedly, over and over again, the way I enjoy game, and "they" enjoy" game, all are valid, there shouldn't be any moral superiority here
or bossing others how to enjoy games the right way
I mean, you do kinda need money to live. :/
I know some privileged countries have a baseline from government that you at least don't have to worry about basic survival, good for them
It's not possible for everyone to make their passion their funding. And it's not possible for everyone to support themself whilst supporting their passion. It's the unfortunate reality for a lot of folk.
yeah, good for them
ehh if all ones do is play games being unemployed thats the reality but we still live life
I don't understand what you mean, could you go on?
we all still need to work pay bills etc
I'm not sure how that relates to my statement, other than being agreement.
how is playing games the solution other than finding a gig that comes with it
I never said playing games is a solution to anything.
i guess the money part i was referring
Ah. I think that if the decision is made to pursue a career in professional gaming, then that's a choice no more invalid than another, y'know? Some fail, some don't; everyone fails at something anyway.
depends where you come from really but i know from experience people become good at their thang because they enjoy what they do and not about money
gaming is just one of many and i dont think people are wasting their lives doing so
It can be both. It could also be neither. Some poeple just like doing.
Doesn't matter the application or interest.
I agree.
if one does anything after work solely for financial gain and not what they really are passionate deep inside it can kinda bite back down the line just sayin
Some have no choice.
yeah i get hence why depends where you come from
in the west we all have lots of free time compared to asia even as a working person
And some people like having money, too. That's an enjoyment in itself; it can provide certain freedom, or feelings of freedom. And some may simply like working- of course, there is an extreme that is unsafe, as is there for anything.
yeh of course i understand
going back to the entire souls git gud thing you can also see how happy people get overcoming the challenges. you dont get this feeling playing a game just to “relax” and punch some buttons to end game
You totally do, though.
It just depends on the person.
Take what I'm playing right now: Disco Elysium. At the very start of the game, you get a task to find a music tape and sign karaoke. Later in, you can finally find the tape, and a large scene plays out where you do, in fact, sing karaoke. It didn't require skill. All I had to do was walk around the environment, but it still swells a sense of pride in the player.
That pride is no different than learning the patterns of any enemy in a souls-like, fast or slow, and breaking through the barrier. They're both enjoyment, and both pride.
not the same to me, i love disco but its not a game that takes effort like any other irl game
or games that require skill and practice
Then you are simply a one who doesn't get enjoyment from casual experiences, which is perfectly okay. But your truth is not everyone's, y'know?
yeah im not preaching that my way is better than yours, just providing a different perspective
Well, from my perspective, you failed. In my view it certainly seemed like you thought others were wrong, even if you didn't intend it that way- which is, of course, okay.
there are 2 kinds of entertainment modes, be it irl or game: dopamine or endorphine
one can choose either, or both, for entertainment
I think you excluded the third kind: nothing. :D
dopamine is as most people know it, instant gratification, whereas endorphine is from achieving something after some challenges
Which I think is a form of entertainment. A certain nothingness that can come from something, I get it when meditating. Though yes, perhaps it is literally just one of those two happy chemicals.
meditation is not really about having fun though, it's more about the state of calmness of your mind, or basically freeing yourself of any mortal emotion, so I think if you still have some emotion left when doing meditation, for example "fun", something must have gone haywire imo
Not all meditation is about absolving yourself of emotion, though.
I guess there is incomplete meditation, and that is more popular than complete meditation, coz easier to do
complete meditation takes so much training, almost like a real monk, to achieve
play fighting games, they're good for your health
you mean sports?
no, like street fighter
without the e-
and by good for your health if you like getting aneurysms 😂
bruhhh
I don't think labelling any meditation that involves emotions "incomplete meditation" is really accurate. There's tons of different spiritualities/religions/occultisms out there, all with their own beliefs and methods.
I think call it partial meditation is a better term, and how partial, depending on different practices, different religions
I think it's just... Meditation.
enough to calm yourself, but not deep enough to free yourself of all emotions
i think that's showing inherent biases. Not every belief system is in accordance that emotions are burdens, therefor there's no freeing yourself from them.
or I think in modern definition, anything that helps you feel calm and relaxed is in itself a form of meditation already
even for us gamers
like, don't play HC, no adrenaline rush = calm
I suppose you could define it that way, yes.
anyway, I think I stray too far from my original topic, which is, where lies the difficulty of elden ring between darksiders series and souls series
if it's bearable, I may grab it at steam summer or winter sale
You are comparing completely different genres imo. You might as well compare elden ring to PoE then 😂
not much different
there's nothing in common between elden and poe lol, over the shoulder view vs top down
to me, elden ring can even be comparable to dragon's dogma, or even elder scroll, but definitely not top down arpg like poe
souls like is just a mere sub genre of over the shoulder arpg, can't make too big of a fuss about it
nvm, I'll watch some gameplay to see how much skill it takes to play
hmm, seems really close to MHW
big ass bosses same as the dragons in MHW lol
cannot be compared to dragons dogma, souls battles are alot more technical , if anything ppl are copying them not the other way around
old monster hunter is an influence of course
alot of their design are japanese in origin, down to castlevania NES bosses
yeah I see a lot of MH elements in elden ring, which is nice, coz I can play MH just fine
but is it also optimized for K&M or best with controller?
I know japanese games hate pc players
controller because you can hit attack and then target your swing 360 degrees
on keyboard you lose that accuracy with wsad
but its just pvp min maxing at this point
🥲 I have an xbox controller but tbh I hate using it
i mean its not a deal breaker, keyboard and mouse players do just fine
from software makes games for consoles but they are getting better at least
elden ring has a 60 fps cap, any higher will bug out the physics lol
monster hunter world and rise have the same issue also, they cant seem to make it even
oh this is new, I don't know about this at all
darn, I don't even know MHW has fps cap
MHW doesnt, but its physics is affected
player gets more knockback and spacing is not the same
i think i remember that, some monsters were easier if you put a 60 fps cap on the game
even old monster hunter games on emulator adding a 60 fps hack will totally bug out the physics
like you run faster lol
its a common known thing with japanese devs
told you they hate pc players
thats why the japanese speedrunning scene in MH do not account for pc players because its not the same
I can imagine that, as they say, the IT facility of japan is even worse than many 3rd world countries
dark souls 1 when it first came out on pc its capped at 30 fps lol
and its not that long ago either, at least they are making improvement lol
before or after human lands on mars
i only accept fps lock in fighting games, since frame data is important
anything other genre i don't get why there's locks
i still play old school games so graphics isnt everything for me , i have a 4080 but dont play AAAA games lol
I think more of capability issue than principle issue
yeh its more capability, the market in their country is still predominantly console
japan can be the chad for many things but when it comes to computer and IT related stuffs, I don't trust them at all
Also you have games where physics are tied to fps
so going above the fps lock can break stuff
for souls games where the physics need to be like, not buggy is kinda important
a small difference in landing a hit and being hit goes a long way lol
Also in Dark Souls: Prepare to die edition
if you went from 30fps to higher
it would affect your rolls. You wouldn't roll as far as you should, jumps also got affected
sometimes when interacting with a ladder it would also drop you below the ladder instead of on the ladder
weird stuff like that
i remember the pc version of spider-man had some animation bugs
there was this one where you had to scan something, but the animation would stall at above 60 fps
they fixed it tho
i think there were a couple others, i'm not sure
i replay the souls games like every year, elden ring hasnt evolved all that much really lol not surprised if they are still using the same engine from demon souls
They most likely are, just adapted & made changes over the years
even the enemy models some of them are exactly the same as demon souls still
Are you guys going to buy Monster Hunter for cheap later?
I'm quite impressed it took 3 years for Xbox to add cloud character on Minecraft Dungeons. 😂
Already got Monster Hunter World & Rise
I'm kinda hoping Dragon's Dogma 2 goes on sale tbh
I wouldn't get it even if it was free
I kinda wish that THQ Nordic GmbH would release Kingdom of Amalur sequel though
I've had it for years no need to buy it. Unless...
I remember I bought THQ humble bundle because they were within days and week before declaring bankrupcy
Nice.
I forgot that Monster Hunter Wilds just announce this year, not release this year. 😂
when elden ring and dlc on sale maybe I'll buy to try
Doubtful the DLC would be on sale since it was just launched.
probably 10%
but for Elden Ring? I might guess they'll sell around 30-60% off
yeah, waiting for big sale, like summer or winter sale
Steam summer sale in the next few days I believe
starts today, quite soon
in 1:30 hours left
I'm thinking about scoring Hades 2 someday
Ok can't lie I love the steam summer sale banner
That cat with a mini collar and riding on the bike is soooo damn cute lol
Aaaand you can click on it to see more
I would like a hope that A Thinking Ape would release an animated game they have a such polish stat PvP mechanics in mobile games before with GaW and and KaW
I spend more than 6 years playing KaW daily
Just a pure no disconnect PvP game that even Rust can dream about
The only thing that probably is on the level is EVE online
If only I had money for all the on sale games!
TBF if u are interested in trying new games and stuff as a boomer I would recommend Xbox pass it has some decent stuff there
That's probably 1st reason that Xbox can overwhelm PSN to start with
Just good products
Oh, I have it. A lot of the games I like aren’t big enough to make it on there, though.
(Some of the games I’d love to pick up are Pacific Drive, the Thaumaturge and Dredge)
Personally I enjoy more games in development and I always mail Devs if I get a key for it
Or just pay the price ,as long as I value my play time 1$ an hour mostly get my money back from games
I agree, I just can’t afford anything right now. Oh well! Not like I don’t have other things to do.
I still don't want to drop 70€ plus expansion for D4 and I probably already give around 3k to blizzard for there games over years easy
But I want to get the freaking game for the library lol Poe is around same and I have no regrets
Still scroll through my mtx library in Poe and like wtf is wrong with me
but the game gave me over 6 k hours so ..yea
Love my wings and portals so Le design team should pick it up
Let me swipe
I don’t think I’ve spent much on ARPG mtx
I buy mtx just for my own eye sake if I intending to invest time in to it
Understandable
think about the time needed to play too, and you feel better
lol I can't believe the base elden ring game is 30% cheaper but the combo base game + dlc is not dropping a single cent, why
spent 150 hours on V rising 1.0 actually find it harder than elden ring lol, recommended
ok
Try V Rising man, it's like Diablo isometric survival game with good combat
I have plenty of time right now, I don’t have any particular qualms there
I mean, if you can buy all the games you want, you don't have enough time to play them all anyway, so you feel better thinking that way
I don’t think I feel that way
V rising for 30% off
I wonder what's Last Epoch is
I died when V Rising have Castlevania DLC. 😦
elden ring for 30% too but elden ring + dlc is not having a single cent of sale, I wonder why
Throwing in a vote for Dredge!
soon TM, end of month, near salary time
Dredge good
castlevania soundtrack on my castle feels good lol
if they add another dracula tier boss would be insane
somehow, mentioning castlevania reminds me of a completely different game: bayonetta
Nah I'm good. Nothing worth buying for me but that means I get to save some money!
based
Any steam sale purchases? Got myself Bloons TD6, pretty fun
Octopath Traveler 2 and Blasphemous 2 for me
If you guys are into good combat and indies, I can't recommend Crosscode enough.
Storywise it's nice but I hated the puzzles. I understand the game was supposed to be mostly about puzzles but I would have preferred if you could choose to skip puzzles rooms where you needed to progress.
I look at my wishlist mostly city builder/planner game lol
elden ring even if you buy full, you still have to play base game first before touching dlc right?
You can get to the dlc surprisingly fast if you know what you're doing
like the speedrun is 40ish minutes, maybe less
but yes the dlc is locked behind one of the end game bosses
nah I ain't those speed run streamer, won't bother with speed run, especially in a non diablo-like game
is dual wield viable in this game? back when I played MHW I absolutely loved dual wielding
Yeah, you can dual wield
have to be same type of weapon
for example can't mix a normal sword + thrusting sword
and I can't remember what the button is to activate the dual wielding
nice, I've always liked dual wielding, it's fast and swift
there's something a bit too deliberate about 2h weapon in these kinds of games that really turns me off
I think last time I dual wielded 2 greatswords 🤔
ok, just bought game bundle for $55, logindude
Hope you like it
as usual, take too damn long to create char
Classic keikajin 😂
now I feel more lord of the rings than elden ring lol
interesting this game doesn't support ultrawide at all
yeah. there are mods to fix that
ultrawide still isn't the standard, though i'm not sure why they didn't support it at all
Yes. You need to have two weapons of the same archetype (ex. two curved swords, two spears, or two greatswords) and also 1.5x the required strength for the highest strength requirement on your weapons.
This unlocks new attacks where, by using left bumper (don't know the MnK controls), you have new combos.
I have to admit, K&M control is quite a mess
calling horse need E + arrow key, potion don't even know which button
That’s because no From Soft game is intended for mouse and keyboard
I learnt hard lesson, all guides saying kill sentinel easier with torrent, until I tried otherwise, on foot, and thing is noticeably easier, still die a lot a lot though
but I miss the old dodge roll back in other arpg, just need to double click wasd, unlike this game has to press wasd + another key
You might like the game more with a controller tbf
Yeah, From Soft makes pretty much exclusively controller-centric games
The big golden guy at the start? You're not even intended to fight them for a bit
I don't like the usage of a controller itself, so that hypothesis will never happen to me
no wonder? my best was to beat him down to 1/3 hp then I ded
now I'm avoiding him and cheese in easier area
happened a lot back in skyrim, wandering around too much and when you're back to main quest, things are so easy
You're intended to do that in Elden Ring
Also IDk why you're using a guide for the game
it's a habit, I don't like to come unprepared for anything
I'm not in that young age when self-exploration means everything
people in their 15-25 will heavily criticize me for the way I play but it's fine, it's their turn sooner or later
You play how you feel like playing
doesn't impact me
that's how it should be, just play the way you like, no question asked
As long as you don't cheat and then bring that stuff to online play, that is
you can cheat in this game? I thought this game is always online?
Understandable
No. All From Soft games have a setting to counteract automatic server login upon boot, which allows you to play offline. This is also how the game will boot if you have no internet connection
This is especially useful because of the modding scene, that way you can play the mods without getting banned
This applies to every From Soft souls-like
didn't know that, today I went in a few times already and everytime asked to log in automatically
Yeah, you have to disable a setting
well doesn't matter though, I'm good with always online
yeah, it's primarily just so the game is playable with no connection and for mods
only issue is I don't know what to do now, except knowing there's the boss I can't kill yet
You explore
same as skyrim yes, but with much much less guidance
I mean, I'm not sure I'd say "same as Skyrim," but sure
Acquiring area maps is a good place to start, since you can generally see any notable places on the map
like, I know how to level up, but not clear how to upgrade my gears so that the boss once was big trouble for me can later become piece of cake
You can upgrade your gear at the first church you were at, with the merchant Kale--near the tree sentinel--using Smithing Stones
Later, there are other ways
euro cup time
didn't realize infantino is both italian and swiss, I wonder who will he support in this match lol
Good Evening
any tech guy has a suggestion on why my Steam is not starting up with my PC automatically? I have the setting turned on 'Run steam when pc starts' inside of the Steam settings. And even tried putting a Steam.exe shortcut into the shell:startup folder
Have you enabled it in Task Manager -> Startup ?
Yeah 👍
i like to have the ones i use almost every day on auto startup 😄 but ye i disabled a lot as well to speed up my rig.
My game backlog is so big it will take me a few years before the ER purchase. 😅
Over 450 hours and I'm still playing slay the spire
I understand how you feel
Worst part is I kinda suck at the game
Can you only trade in late game?
Seems like you can only do it once you reach bazar n stuff
Yes you need to reach act9 with at least one character
Awww maaan. I wanna buy the game but i feel so lazy to start from scratch 😛
Was hoping i could beg for some low level uniques xDD
Also. Is the game still super buggy? I remember last time i playied necromancer was basically useless cause the minnions just teleported all over the place xD
haha same, I really suck at elden ring combat, imagine I got 2 bandit curved sword to +3, got the bleed ash of war, and still died 3 more times to tree sentinel before finally felling him
now I'm looking for some early freeze/shock dual wield build, wonder if there are such builds early on
Hey now
taking down the tree sentinel is pretty hard when you're new to the game
especially if you're new to the genre
good work on it
now I'm inside the stormveil castle and every big ass knight seems more dangerous than tree sentinel lol, but at least their drops are decent upgrade
You can do it
(Shock is not a status effect)
I completed all the achievements in StS yesterday and got my first ever winstreak on Silent (no winstreaks on any others so far) and technically a rotating winstreak between ironclad and silent.
Also remember that you don't need to kill everything
it's okay to run away

yeah, now I play this game exactly the way I played skyrim, explored the heck out of it till I'm over-geared for main content
not keen on proceeding the stormveil castle area for now, so I go back explore the whole weeping peninsula south of starting location
You’re meant to do Weeping Peninsula before Stormveil anyway
I didn't know that though, was there only to farm bandit swords
then there's this area to the right of stormveil, is it beginner area too? The one after you defeat the boss on boat
if you mean the Mistwoods, yes
If you mean Caelid, no
Central Limgrave/Mistwoods, Weeping Peninsula, Stormveil
In that order
seems like caelid yeah
Which mushroom? The plant one or the radioactive one?😉
Both
The not fun unedible kind of shrooms
Started a new game on elden ring myself recently, man the prisoner is such a good start
My SO who's been out working 10-12h shifts for a couple of months now: *rants about how she wants to go to sleep earlier than our kid who's been steadily going to sleep increasingly past 10-11PM*
Me who's been with the kid literally 24/7, doing almost all the chores, and constantly sacrificing my own sleep for laptop time: "And what am I supposed to do with all that?"
My SO, without batting an eye: "Wash the dishes please."
I just can't win no matter what, being a work-from-home IT guy with zero life.

hi
Hello!
anyone tried The First Descendant? seems kinda meh after a few hours. feels kinda like worse Warframe with greedier cash shop?
It's a Nexon game. I'm staying away on principle.
I have. It's a mix of Warframe and Destiny gameplay, but doesn't do anything new or better compared to those games. The graphics are nice and the game runs well on PC, but the playable characters are overdesigned at best and coomer-bait at worst. The cash shop is indeed greedier, and the skins you can buy are "meh" at best but usually just overpriced coomer sh*t (maid outfits galore).
I'd say give it about 3 hours to see if it sticks, it becomes very obvious very quickly what they're going for with this game.
I played through the tutorial and some open-world content, looked through the cosmetics store and at the prices, and promptly uninstalled the game
I'm at the second actual boss fight. Actually completed it but the servers went down again... I was a little curious if it gets better later...
I played Destiny 2 during one expansion, it was the Ice themed expansions with the ice themed character subclasses... was a good time but honestly too many paid expansions for my taste
Then you've played it way more than I did, nice
Only reason I'm not playing D2 right now is cuz I don't have money for the latest expansion. Otherwise I happily would put in at least another few hundred hours on top of the thousands they've already gotten from me.
Gotta give it to The First Descendant though, it made me chuckle when I first loaded into the hub area and almost everyone else were playing the same big booba lady. The people who didn't were Bunny players lol
Then I saw someone running around with the 100 dollar Ultimate Bunny skin and I was like "damn, they got one".
haha, I only picked the big booba lady because frost abilities sounded cooler than grenades or shields 😄 I swear!
I learned quickly during the last beta that I can't run the game well enough to enjoy it. Oh well, I'm probably not missing anything crazy.
"Hmmm, who am I going to choose? Suggestive blond big booba lady, generic action dude or generic big armored tank dude? Hmmmmmmmmm"
not missing anything imo. the gameplay is kinda meh to be honest. almost all the missions are "stand over here and kill the enemies that spawn"... which I guess is kinda like Destiny 2 open world content also but dunno, the gunplay feels more interesting in D2
I was hoping it would've been good enough to waste my time until July 9th
The only gameplay mechanic I enjoyed was the grappling hook, but then again, Warframe beats it with at least a dozen more interesting movement options
The meat of D2 isn't open world either. I'd wager 85% of the playerbase doesn't touch open world much after they finish a DLC campaign.
Maybe an argument to be made for certain vendor reps or triumphs, but they aren't really all that necessary.
And yeah, D2 gunplay just hits different. It's not the best gunplay ever, but it's unique and handles itself well enough to be distinct.
oh well, need to find something else to do until july 9th... I got Dwarven Realms recently lol 😄 maybe try that some more
never heard of that, looks like it might be fun 😮
and couple of my friends own it and I know they play good games 😄
I bought today
I need figure out the lootfilter because 1st zone and I am already swarmed
Note they may have gotten it before 2.0 came out, 2.0 drove the vast majority of the playerbase away from the game
yeh there's mixed reviews and lots of people saying that the game used to be good but not so much anymore
77 cents whatever, might as well try it
I think I got it for free during a Steam event a couple years ago lol
I don't even know what genre it is
The base game is practically cheap but the dlc adds up 👍
man, when people say D2, 99.9% of my brain says diablo 2, and the 0.1% says it's something else
brain failed me
ARPG player moment
Speaking of ARPG’s, I’ve actually been really enjoying Minecraft Dungeons
The gameplay loop is pretty damn satisfying, and I like the level-based system instead of the usual “walking through connected maps in an act” type thing
And the artstyle is quite nice
d1 style
Perhaps. Never played Diablo 1, I wouldn’t know.
Same lol
I only accept the existence of Diablo 2. The other game doesn't exist.
Old people being old.
Computers existed back then? /s
in 2000? even 3rd world country like mine already had countless of them
all the little computers running windows 98
playing minesweeper lol
🥳
I don’t know how to interpret this
thats the iconic xp wallpaper with the box pc screen
You mean iconic xp os 😃
The legend
we the same age i think lolz, i had the same mouse it was one of the better early opticals.
iirc its microsoft and not logitech, i was playing pro quake/unreal tournament back then
it was such an ancient past where people were playing d2, aoe1 and 2, then later on mu online
Hey I played quake 3 on ball mouse lol and that not even win Milenium ,xp was goated tho
Win 95 was the first one I touched
I guess you mods already know but <@&1161418687471956101> spam
Trying to get into that series now is crazy difficult because anyone playing it has been playing for a long time, the average skill level is absolutely insane
I mean what was the last one quake champions ? And people were already crazy stupid good there
Like if u a new player to those fast pace shooters u going to hate the game
I played in beta and yea I don't have reflexes like that anymore lul
Exactly, yeah
lol maybe - im 42
yup - grandpa x2 😛 lol
yeah i played quake 3 in invitationals and tournaments overseas back then, i used a ball mouse for most of that time
the russian prodigy at the time used an oem russian mouse anyway so this entire thing about dpi was overrated
Таже мышка
before I get pitched and forked i used the same mouse
You’re telling me you don’t use half-broken mouses like normal people?
we have come far, from a mouse with big ball, to mouse with no ball
I can't wait to play LE on offline mode and cheat the hell out of it 😂
are you using an external tool or is there an ingame option to do that? i think this league i will test the build first before buying 2 red rings just to realize a skill node doesn't act like i thought it did
There might be external tools but I will be using cheat engine mostly
Ingame there is no such thing
I do wish though that necro minions could be changed so that when you die, you don't have to resummon them again
Grim Constitution - Grim Dawn constiitution 😉
I asked for storm totem buff for so long, finally, not exactly what I want, but definitely what I need
@naive pine ey
mmm chili
This is clearly insane. I thought you were talking about that Ohtani solo shot. Wild stuff, duder.
Yeah, but the greater point was how strange Discord is as a concept. Though I will happily discuss the NFL if you like. I got some opinions. Duder.
I don’t know anything about football
