I think we have very different ideas on what the term viable means but it does have less variety at the higher end than some other item types. I disagree with the idea that the weapons themselves are poorly balanced though.
mhmm but katana gets a t5-6 value in implict as crit multi meanwhile dawn blade get a tier 2 worth of flat dmg and t1-2 worth of attack speed. for nagasa. its like a t3 dmg over time implict. meanwhile the crystal sword implict is obviously more than that as well

For what its worth, i often find myself telling new players that "last epoxh doesnt do a good job of communicating that empowered monoliths exist, and that's where the game really opens up".
there’s a short animation that plays when you unlock the ability to click the thing that unlocks empowered but i’m like 80% sure there’s no quest marker or anything

I'm sure. Quest markers only point to different monos. Nothing tells you to go finish the top 3 monos to unlock Empowered. Even after you finish them, it doesn't actually tell you to go back to the center island to unlock Empowered
I think the most it may do is ping a little circle on the minimap back on the center island but it's minimal and iirc only pings it like once or twice
ok just unlocked empowered on the new character. when you finish the last level 90 monoith you get one of those pulsing circles on the minimap but there's no quest marker directing you to the middle island and you don't get the animation until you get there so i imagine it's pretty easy to miss, especially since there are quest markers to discover the remaining branches of the timelines if you didn't already select every possible choice

i dont know the numbers but i summon 15 waiths that look like there spall cast rate is more than 1 per second so even at that thats 15 sets of numbers in 1 second so you are unlikely ever to notice you didnot crit

Well, the story isn't finished yet. There are more chapters coming which will finish it. But we aren't going to go back and rewrite what is already there from scratch or anything like that.

I found that I can squish critters (such as crabs and frogs) with the character. Since when is this detail in the game?

does the size of the minions affect their gameplay? something like hitbox, aggro of something like that or it's only cosmetic?
Increases their hitbox size (they'll block projectiles and be hit by AoEs more easily) and the size increase does make them count as slightly closer to enemies for aggro calculation.
Can I assume all the player data (such as bought cosmetic items, achievement ...) and servers are managed by devs alone, and there won't be any third party publishers that force local players to play on regional client like POE?
Strange, animated only deaths are never better than procedural/ragdoll deaths. You should move towards physics based deaths IMO. Not to mention that due to lack of physics enemies are very often suspended in the air after death. I did not expect that answer.

Not exclusively. Any real money transactions do go through Steam as a transaction provider so they do see those. So that's the Epoch Point purchases and the Supporter Pack purchases. They can't see what you spend your Epoch Points on though. We also don't have our achievement system set up yet and that could possibly also use Steam. We might do that ourselves though. We technically don't have a publisher. We haven't decided to make a regional client but it is possible that we might. I'm not sure what scenario that would be necessary but I can see it being possible.

Getting a blessing which increases your drops in one category does not reduce your drops in another category. It increases the total number of items you receive instead.

Many of us have played D4. I don't really have time to give it a full analysis. I think it has ups and downs like any game. Some things that stood out to me were animations, modeling, vfx and just overall cool factor. I had fun playing it and I'm nowhere near done with it myself. I just don't have the time these days to binge it like I would have 10 years ago.

The Bone Golem node Amalgam of Primalists (Give armor to nearby minions, including itself) - Does it stack if you have multiple Golems or is it limited to a single instance of the buff?
What are you guys' main focuses right now ?
No, like all auras (holy aura and leaf shield), all specific stat buffs really, the stats which come from the same source do not stack. So it checks all the individual stats and then combines them into one. This is important for holy aura because you can spec into two different parts of the tree with 2 Paladins.
Since this example is just one stat, multiple bone golems with it do not stack.
Performance, stability, polish, end game features, finishing the masteries, the next story chapters, general new stuff in most categories.

Would all of it go into Incineration? Or would Exothermic take it's 3 stacks first and then any leftover goes to Incineration? Or does it double dip both?
We hadn't found a solution that we were interested in pursuing until the Item Factions were proposed internally. It was one of those moments where the lead designer really showed why they are awesome.

if the game break my pc with the memory leak, causing it to shut down and put all the vent to MAX to prevent overheating, does EHG cover the cost ?
if i leave the game running for 5 hour on character selection screen, even tho we get the AFK notification, it's doesnt stop the memory leak to expend. having to leave the house fast and comming back to a JET in my office to see the screen all black. i just want the memory leaks fixed

Bone curse has a bug?
Spriggan form has a PS bug fix that's they're trying to fix
Cursed limbs has been broken since 0.9 in the really good way for players, where any % more damage from skills applying bone curse also work on bone curse

We don't plan to add any more new systems specifically targeted at alt toon QOL on top of the ones we already have. We have been updating those and will continue to do so though. For example, the dungeon 1st tier is going to get some adjustments.

Legendary Items retain the level requirements of their base uniques, allowing for some really strong leveling items to be created.

Yes, you still have to level your new character.
There are more quests for each than there are rewards of those types available though so you don't have to do all the passive/idol quests. So you can skip sections and do the side quests in others.
You can customize a campaign path that is shorter than the normal one and you can do it faster because you have super powered gear.

If you have multiple Thrones of Ambition equipped, the advanced tooltips say you don't get extra stacks or extra maximum stacks, but do the bonuses from each stack... stack? Like if you have two, do you get 4% More Cold/Fire Damage/Armor Per Stack of Ambition instead of 2%?

How well it works in Chronicon has little to do with how well we think it would work in LE. We have no intentions of adding it to LE.

Can you confirm that the implicit shown in the attached image "% of minion dmg leeched as health on hit" grants health only to your minions? If this is true, it's strange that the implicit description doesn't say specifically that the dmg dealt by minions is leeched to only the minion's health - something I think should be reworded. The wording should specifically say the dmg dealt by minions gives health to minions only, for example the implicit could read "% of minion dmg leeched as minion health on hit", or it could be clearly detailed in the description. As the implicit stands right now, I don't know if the dmg dealt by my minions returns health to me or to my minions or both, as the description reads, "is returned to you as health", as the implicit currently doesn't specifically say "% of minion dmg leeched as minion health on hit".

Well, right now it's entirely us everywhere that it is. I just don't know if that will always be true. Like maybe some regional rules make it impossible for us to operate the game in a region. Currently, Steam is the only method of distribution for the game.

They should, if their stability is the same as yours.
Everyone who enters the boss fight with enough stability receives full benefits from the kill. Everyone gets a blessing and everyone getsa boss kill unique.

It's just if this node is intended to turn Multishot into a weapon-pool skill, then 5% chance is way too low. I had it never trigger once over like 30-50 shots. Even Ballista has its own "multishot" triggering with 15% chance.

It's pretty bad. Minion damage rolls generic into specific types, causing confusion, crit only shows generic increases and sometimes doesn't even show crit buffs right, armor gets erratic if you have any kind of temporary buff, dodge to GB passive doesn't show up right, and more. It's literally acknowledged to have fallen behind the state of the game quite a bit.
In the same vein, either Foot of the mountain doesn't work, or it doesn't show the end. threshold on the sheet, didn't actually try which it is

Just weird wording; there's a few weird ones like the '+damage for damage over time spells' modifiers (don't apply to any hit portions of DOT spells). Might be good for #tooltip-hunt if you can think of clearer wording.

Yes, we have considered it. We haven't found a really good mechanical reason to add player housing as a feature. It's possible as a long term option that we might consider.

o to open options, first button near the top is change input keys, scroll down, to the toggle user interface. del is the default, but its in there and changeable, so, just hit w/e key is there as the keybind
Loot in general is instanced so every player gets their own drops.

It's the usual thing, devs test something and it worked internally, then they pushed live and it failed spectacularly. They flipped a switch or made a quick hotfix to disable and get the game working at least as well as it was before. Which worked.

I mean, Ribbon of Blood has an almost identical modifier (specifies on hit) and it certaintly doesn't leech to you
archer a while ago was on flamewraith and he made the build broken according to him cuz he found out he can use that base armor to leech hp from flamewraith and sustain twisted heart dreadshade spam indefinitely to stack ward
i could be wrong or he could be wrong but he showed me live on stream that without that armor his hp level is way lower while spamming

I think the right answer here is, it depends. RV is special in that it is both a boss drop and a random drop. If Gaspar drops it as a boss drop, everyone in the party should get one. If he drops it as a random drop, then it only goes to one player.
The future of offline mode is fully offline. No connection required at all. No chat, no nothing that would be an online anything.

if you guys could PLEASE seriously consider my point of view (apparently a lot of players agree), I'd appreciate it. if cache had a guaranteed way to choose an affix from the exalted base, it'd be good for the longevity of the game, since gear grind would FEEL more enjoyable. it doesn't matter if this guaranteed way to get the legendary affixes you want takes longer than simply getting, say, 5-10 more uniques and bases of the same type to slam, it'd STILL feel a lot better for players, and it'd keep many players playing the game longer
It's just 1 stack and it's limited to 1 stack, even if you get 6 points which would normally put you at 102%

the "no legendary tradable" rumor came from some people only reading part of the devblog and making assumptions based on that. It very clearly states that they will be tradable and that the only "hard no" restriction is that the items can't have an item faction rank requirement (either faction).

It's the display failing to round. That is the actual number.

Steam Deck is still an unsupported platform. We have released patches which improve the performance of the game in general so it's doing better on all platforms but nothing Steam Deck specific. I don't know what the changes have been as we don't test on it.

''Increased Fire/Cold/Lightning Dmg'' has higher value than ''Increased Elemental Dmg'', but lower numbers than ''Elemental Dmg over Time''.
But why has ''Increased Dmg over Time'' the same value as ''Increased Poison/Bleed Dmg''?
For example, affix/implict rolls are represented in 0-255 basically 256 possibilities to ensure the same uniform distribution between low to high roll of any roll ranges(i assume uniform, it could be a non uniform distribution as well). And actual value is multiplied on top of the roll range. Aka actual value=(high-low)/255*roll+low. Now you already have floating pt in the mix so its inevitable
Also you have things like endurance threshold=added endurance threshold+hp/5 thats again introducing floating pts
When you divide things by 255 i dont think you are gonna run into integers

I'm not entirely sure off the top of my head, might just be an oversight, might have to do with which slots those affixes can appear on. Generally speaking, the more specific an affix is, the higher the relative values will be.

Hi! Can someone explain how items like Burning Avarice work - does penetration with Ignite apply only to stacks your hero applies or minions too? Also - penetration is for ignite damage only or it basically puts a debuff on enemy?
minions have their own stats for everything, including chance to apply ignite, ignite penetration etc etc.. Affixes that work on minions describe as such.
burning avarice in particular has no affixes that help your minions, unfortunately.
Same goes for penetration really - if it says fire penetration then that's any fire damage you do, including ignites. ignite penetration is more specific.

It won't make your minions apply shred, but your minions do benefit from the shred debuff on enemies no matter where it comes from (such as from you applying it on hit with that blessing).

Each WW unique is created specifically to have these WW stats added to them. The vast majority of uniques that are in the game would not do very well as a WW unique and therefore we don't want to add it to them.
Could you elaborate? The WW is random affixes correct? So how would it be tailored to the items?
The items are tailored to which slot they are in and the affixes which could be added to them based on the restrictions of that slot in order to increase the odds of beneficial affixes being chosen.

No. Affix roll ranges are no affected by anything.

Hi Mike, I was experimenting with manifest armor and found out that MA does not proc decimate with forge breath and the node that copy that copy the stats from your weapon. So I wonder what kind of stats MA is able to copy? Is it just more regular stats like +flat, Inc dmg, AS, cast speed etc?
What about set bonuses? Can the MA get them?
How excactly does reduced and less damage interact with each other? I asked in ask-the-community but seems like there's general confusion about it. And are the ingame tooltips correct in saying armour and resistances reduce damage taken?
A little confused about some nodes in spirit plague. Pestilence gives DoT with 13 stacks, and Endless Decay gives poison dmg with 13 stacks. When both are taken, I only seem to get the buff for Pestilence. Is the buff icon for endless decay missing? Is it rolled into the same buff/buff icon since poison can only be DoT anyways and they both apply the same way and time?
they're both character sheet stats right, so you should be able to check on a dummy if it's working properly?
We do plan to add cosmetic skins for transform abilities. I don't know if werewolf will be an option or not. It's a pretty obvious one but it would put us in a tricky situation if we ever wanted to make a werewolf form in the future.
There is no hard rule. It's all the things that it can. The more complex stats generally don't work. I don't think any "chance to cast" affixes will work.

Less is the opposite of more.
Reduced and increased are all additive with each other. Then are multiplied by less and more stats.
Armor and resistances are multiplcative.
Since they are always both identical, it only shows 1 icon for both. It should probably say that it's both. We try to show as few buff icons as possible.

Out of curiosity, do VK echoes snapshot your stats for the skill use instance that they're echoing, or do they snapshot your stats at the instance they occur

It takes the stats when the ability it is echoing is created. Really technically speaking, the echoes don't do anything. Under the hood, it's actually still you doing the echoed abilities.

I prefer this personally. I don't participate in seasons normally. The race to lvl 100 and leader boards aren't appealing to me.

Yep but I have seen people saying yes and when I tried it, it "feels" the cooldown was removed and the skill gated by cast speed
that's because it is gated by cast speed despite the cooldown.
the cooldown with the 100% is 1.5s and its cast time without % cast speed is slower than that

At -100%, yes. This is because it's -X% cooldown, rather than +X% increased cooldown recovery speed like we're used to seeing.

I just checked the database of translated fields and the languages they are already translated into. That lines up with the Dec 9, 2022 interview and I think that's the right one. So yes Spanish and no Italian.

so for the ballista node shared enhancements - i understand if i have 200% physical damage, my ballista will get %90 physical damage increase.
does this node also work with flat bow damage? (e.g i have +10 bow dmg on my bow, my ballista will ger +4.5 flat)
Short answer: yes.
Long answer: yes, but just to be super clear and annoyingly precise, the stat 200% physical damage doesn't exist. It requires an increase or more value. Both do work in this case so it doesn't really matter but it is generally important to make the distinction. Every stat that is of type Damage is applied. So every single stat that you have that is in the form +(added/increased/more)(tags) Damage apply. This technically will give your ballista stats that it has absolutely no use for like increased minion melee fire damage for example. No idea how you'd get that on your rogue but just a silly example. Also important to note that giving a minion the stat increased minion damage increases the damage of their minions, it doesn't double dip.

also - for the "perfect aim node" does my bow critical strike chance & multiplier ADD to the ballistas? so at 4 points, the ballista would get +9% crit chance on top of their own/+200% crit strike multiplier on top of their own?

It's literally identical to my above answer except switch critical strike chance and multiplier out for damage.
Just to be clear it's all your stats. The base Crit and Crit multi values are not stats but rather properties of the abilities you are using.

Hi and thanx for this fantastic game. I bought the game (I have 250 hours now) mainly because there was a native Linux client and my OS of choice is Linux. However, linux native client is seriously broken (intolerable graphical glithes, flashes, blinking, etc) and I am forced to play the game in Windows. I am reading that Linux version has been broken for several years and you never tried to fix it. I understand that linux community is relative small compared to windows, but I would like to know if you plan at some point in the future fixing the linux version. Thank you

While we haven't released a successful fix for it, we have worked on it. I know it can be frustrating to not see the progress you are hoping for on specific bugs. We are still supporting the Linux version.

What's the difference between Base Values and Scaled Values of an affix, and which number should I look at when assessing idols?
I'm seeing different ranges for the same affixes, supposedly when applied to the same size idol:

Oh, that thorn totem shaman slaps, but it's not really a shaman build, it's just a "Shaman" for the totem mana cost discount.
Look at the scaled ones. You can see this by going into game with any idol and holding ctrl + alt and it will show you the roll range. These will line up with the scaled versions.
Each item type has an affix effect modifier which multiplies the affix values to line up with the weighting of that slot. This happens with all items, for example, added melee physical damage can roll at a higher range on a 2H Axe than it can on a 1H Dagger.
1x3 idol has an affix effect modifier of -33%. So the uper roll range on that affix is 42% and the scaled version for a 1x3 idol is 28%.
If we put that affix on an Adorned Idol (2x2) then it would roll up to 40% because it has a -5% affix effect modifier.

It has been said before that the reason for not every skill (currently in the game, so not speaking for future skills) having a a conversion, excluding balance reasons, is theming. Certain damage types either don't make sense for a specific skill or the class as a whole.

Thank you for your answer regarding linux support. I would like to let you know that if it is too time consuming to fix linux native version, then you can cooperate with valve's proton devs to patch the proton so the game runs with good performance. The graphical glitches of linux native client do not exist if you play the game through proton. However, playing the game through proton, DESTROYS performance (FPS are in best case scenario 50% of what you get in Windows). Proton can do better than that since we, linux gamers, play other games through proton at performance levels similar (or even better) to Windows. In conclusion, if you can't fix the linux native client PLEASE work with proton devs so they can patch the proton and we cam play the game in Linux.

No. Haste has one max stack. You can however benefit from other buffs that boost movement speed while haste is active. This is why Rogue is 180% move speed class.
I'm aware that you can only ever have one Haste buff, and that newly applied Haste-s will override older ones. I'm specifically asking about the interaction with the new boots, which would benefit from getting as many sources of haste applied as fast as possible, regardless of whether those haste-s actually persist.
I'm pretty sure it procs for each source of haste considering the insane ward I'd get, but if a same source has more than 100% (is it possible ?) Idk

Oh, I definitely wouldn't want to go auto-pilot, I love the thrill of checking loot on the ground, it's probably one of the most addictive things about LE. since humming bee is a distinct effect from "chance to gain haste on hit" they are not additive and do not combine into 1 stat. They therefore can apply distinct instances of haste from a single hit and can both trigger the ward gain effect individually in the same hit.
more than 100% chance with haste does not trigger a second instance and a second ward proc.
We actually discussed the loot filter and potential changes to it yesterday. This was discussed and our decision to not include it was upheld. We do not intend to add this to the loot filter.

I have no idea if the "pop'd" bleed stacks still count as damage over time damage or not

taking the text literally it should still just count as damage over time; It's not hitting the enemy with the damage, it just gets its duration cut to zero and its damage increased by an equal amount that it had "left"

you could test it by applying a large amount of armor shred to the dummy and counting the damage of basic abyssal echoes, any source of regular bleed, and then abyssal echoes consuming those bleeds respectively.
no, the stat is additive with multiple instances and is applied as one, just like any other stat.
It should still count as DOT (shouldn't change anything other than duration) if it's consistent with similar effects. Whether or not it works probably depends on the order those effects actually apply, I'd guess.
I have the same question for the masochist mode. I've been digging around for more info but all I've seen are other users asking or a forum reply from a few months ago where a dev stated that it wasn't ready for the multiplayer patch. Can any of the devs provide additional info? Some context on the difficulty of the refactor required for it combined with the current priority level (probably low) would be nice to get an idea. I don't mind waiting but the lack of info on it is disappointing.

I use the Decoy node "Ambush" to bump up my crit multi for 4 seconds, wondering if I should start my channeled Flurry before, or after the buff. I tried testing it out last night, and it seems like it's realtime - but wanted to confirm with yall

I saw on your stream that you liked the idea of some kind of rare glyph and/or rare/time-consuming method to revert slammed uniques back to LP legendaries. However, you guys then changed your mind and reverted to "maybe", and then even further into "low chance of happening".
What are the reasons to avoid doing it? Diablo 2 had Hel runes, to clear runewords and reroll rune bases, and it was not an issue and never introduced any sort of power creep. Is it a technical limitation of some sort? Hard to code?
I'm not going to lie, I have failed 5 VERY expensive/rare slams this past week so I DO have a chip on my shoulder from all this. I will NEVER get another chance for potential upgrades like these and it feels, once again terrible:
I cannot acquire these again, and acquiring another exalted base for each of these would each take 2-3 weeks of playing AT BEST. I really don't see WHY allowing people to reroll failed legendaries like these would be power creep or a bad thing.
For one, instead of feeling excited to slam my 1LP orian's, I have not slammed it, and do not plan on slamming EVER. And I have worn it for about 2 months now. Instead of slamming it, I have replaced it with a higher roll orian's. The 1LP orian's, the thing that is supposed to be better, that is supposed to excite me, is sitting in my stash, NEVER to be used/worn again.
THAT is the ultimate outcome of this legendary system that does not forgive, and does not allow you to retry. I have dozens of 3-4LP and rare 1LP uniques sitting in my stash and I will NEVER slam them, and NEVER use them on any of my builds.
You say you cannot acquire them again but you have evidence that shows you can in fact acquire them again, you're just not willing to because it supports your narrative to say you won't get them
those 2lps I kept from over a month ago until I found a t7 to try for each of them. they BOTH FAILED
there's another, a 3lp urzil, I kept it for 2 months, slammed it, it MISSED the only affix I absolutely needed. 2 months of waiting, gone. I will not get these 2lp or the urzil again
there IS no narrative, only extreme salt, and I DO want to know WHY NOT make them cleansable?

Yes, I do like that idea. I'm far from the arbiter of what gets put in the game or not so the best I can say for an idea I like is "maybe". Having suggested similar ideas in the past myself and having them not make it out of the discussion stage for reasons that also apply to this idea, I think it has a "low chance of happening".
It shifts the rarity of the items. Yes, D2 has Hel runes, the rarity of runewords was set around that being in the game. Adding a Hel rune to LE changes that rarity. To be clear, Hel runes did increase the average power of characters in D2. Not by much but it did. Also, Hel runes are a little different because in almost every case (yes there are a few exceptions), high tier runeword costs are skewed pretty heavily towards the runes, not the bases. LE is kinda the opposite, especially with the ability to use a Rune of Creation on the exalted to copy it and get 2 cracks with it.
I like to joke about knock on consequences of changes sometimes by saying "a finger on the monkey's paw curls inward...". Well, in this case it could be something like that the average LP chance of items would probably go down as a result to maintain a similar overall average power level. These changes rarely happen in a vacuum.
Personal anecdotes and hyperbole aside, we do watch #suggestions-and-like-to-see and #368968647114227723 for what people want to see change about the game and what people feel about how the game is now.
I see. So it is basically a rarity/power level argument. In that case, adding a method to revert legendaries would only need to be sufficiently rare/time-consuming/expensive. If it is, say, on average, more time consuming than getting another unique to try with (but is something you can progress towards), it should not affect rarity or invoke the Monkey's Paw of Power Creep.
Many players simply do not like the idea of losing so much progress, in mere seconds, to an unlucky roll. I'd rather make slower, incremental progress that is not lost. I am ok with spending weeks/months farming another high-roll T7 exalted. Hell, I'd be ok with Rune of Creation being changed to revert legendaries. Would that be a good compromise? Instead of being able to dupe exalted, the rune would instead remove slams from legendaries?
Another idea, you could make it so that I'd need 1 or more copies of that unique in order to restore the legendary back to its unique form. Say, I have my 1LP Orian's. If I fail the slam, now I need to sacrifice 1 (or more?) Orian's in order to restore it back to it's un-slammed form to try again. And, the higher the LP, the more copies of the unique I'd need - so, a 3LP would need 3 (or some multiple? 6? 12?) of that unique to be sacrificed. Though, I think the rune of creation change would be the most simple to implement.

NP, I really hope you guys seriously reconsider the current eternity cache system. There are plenty of ways to make it more deterministic and still keep it rare/hard to get.

I really do think that adding a method to restore it to the original LP unique is the best. You can have this method be as rare/time-consuming as you want!

I think I have my answer. You are worried about a monkey's paw situation. I understand. But as long as the method of reverting/guaranteeing these slams remains very hard to get, it would not curl back a finger. 🙂

It'll be a gradual thing. What I may have glossed over too fast on stream is that these are Tech demos of tools that we are adding for our level design team to start using. They will apply these to zones mostly individually.

how large is the blacklist anyway? i am constantly getting messages dropped with absolutely no idea why, it would be nice if there were some kind of feedback, maybe even just a 'your message was not sent' error, it took me literally months to realize i was tripping the naughty word filter, for the first few months i played this game i just thought chat was extremely buggy and constantly dropped messages

I don't think the intention has anything to do with the word Sawyer, it's just an untuned filter
The explanation given a while back was it was a preset one and they just haven't tuned it

The best thing to do is let us know - we try to keep an eye on the system, but we won't catch everything right away. I can't really go too deep into how it works, but it's not a 'block list', it actually does take into consideration context and history as well, so there's many things that could cause what you're experiencing. Submitting a support ticket at support.lastepoch.com lets us look into what particular situation you're encountering, determine what may need to be adjusted, and do so.
hmm. i feel like it happens way too often for individual reports to be meaningful.... it's also kinda hard to keep track of, because you don't get to find out the message got censored until after it's vanished into the void, and then you can't quite remember exactly what you typed
like, a few minutes ago, someone was asking about grammar, and i typed something like "if it's supposed to be possessive, it's just 'i t s', but if it's supposed to be a contraction it's 'i t apostrophe s'", and the message just got dropped. i figured it probably had something to do with putting spaces between the letters, since that's a common method of circumventing word blacklists, but it felt like too much effort to test... i guess i could start taking notes when that happens, and try my best to like, remember what i had typed, and hope i get it right
would having a list of examples like that actually help? and if so... wouldn't it be way easier to just log flagged messages serverside for review? based on my own experience i'd guess that 99% of them are false positives and it would take less than a day of logging to get enough data, but then again i might be underestimating the number of edgy 13 year olds

You should be receiving a message that it was blocked. If you're not - that's a bug.

I think the combination of two things seem to limit the multiplayer enjoyment
(1) If you die in Echo you do not get any reward.
(2) your allies cannot revive you.
I am not saying both should change but (2) should imo, because the appeal of multiplayer is to partially to have your friends help you do difficult things you can't do on your own. I am not talking about power lving but like cooperation. I am lv 6x and playing with lv 7x friend. I don't die all the time but even dying once in a long echo means no reward. Same for boss fight, and it makes playing together less productive than me playing alone in echos I can guarantee to solo. Are there other players with such opinion? What are the devs opinion on this?

On a road trip right now so the formatting is tough.
As to point 1, a death penalty is something we feel is necessary to keep the tension. We don't want to take something you've already earned away so that takes a lot of the classic options off the table right away. With this, we feel that the best option is to remove the reward from the echo you were attempting.
As for number 2, it sounds to me that you're struggling when playing significantly under leveled. I can understand the frustration of dieing semi-regularly. Having players be able to resurrect each other is something we've considered several times (and might possibly maybe consider again) but I don't think it's a solution to this situation.
You mentioned dieing less playing solo but is this a good direct comparison? Are you attempting the same content and having an easier time solo than if you bring a high level person to help or are you dieing more when you try to do harder content than your character is ready for?
I'm actually a pretty big fan of being able to res your friends in general. It does drive an even bigger wedge in the divide between solo and group play though. And we aren't really interested in adding self res charges right now. If the ability to res friends was added, you would still lose your echo reward. That's the death penalty.
@placid plinth I am attempting different content, but it is bad for social play for the party to need to play for the dungeon of lowest player. For example I am lv 60 and my friend is lv 70. If we do lv 75 echoes I die but lv 66 are ok. I think doing multiplayer should be to encourage players to push harder content together, but the way it is, will make it that you go for the safest option for all party members.

let's prhase it in a different way. what's the multiplayer experience the game wants to offer, and how is it a good one 🙂
so you can play levels with someone and if they or you get an item the person can use you can trade it, also you can sit back let someone clear an entire echo and then port in to get reward.
Ok let me tell you how my multiplayer experience has been negative. I am playing with someone who plays a bit more than me. He is typically ahead of me in level and stats. His playstyle is to try to push the hardest content he can do, which is kind of mine too. Him being lv 75 he can solo the T3 arbor light dungeon, but with me he has to do T2 lv 65, and when I tried to do the lv 85 I died, which is expected. But most of the game content is not spread evenly. Like it doesn't give a good experience when we have to do the lowest lv dungeon that no player would die with through the entire run to play with many people. From social prespective you feel bad for forcing them for lower lv dungeon, and feel bad when yo ucan't keep yourself alive in higher level one. creating resentment.
Frankly, multiplayer should not allow you to be pulled into content that you wouldn't be able to run yourself imo
if you want to discuss this we have to move over to another channel. this channel is for dev responses, but ill gladly keep explaining this to you because i had a similar mind set
The dungeons aren't designed to each be a one after another thing as you are leveling. We will be adding more dungeons eventually to have more options too. The monoliths are more granular in their level options.
I really think the issue here is that you've got a friend who is higher level than you and isn't interested in scaling down to your level to play together.
We are very interested in having a tangible power increase relative to the game world as you level up. We don't want to add dynamic level scaling to the game. We feel that it wouldn't be a good fit for LE.
I know that these responses don't really give you any path for improving your situation. We do keep an eye on the #suggestions-and-like-to-see channel for ideas. Just note that even if we did include a party res system, you still wouldn't get the rewards add that's the death penalty.

Without some other death penalty to take its place, yes.
I have a question regarding the future of the ladder. Will the ladder only revolve around the arena? Or other systems could be integrated into the ladder such as: pushing corruption as much as possible on a particular monolyth or a monolyth dedicated to the ladder with specific modifiers ?

Whenever items might be exclusive to some mode: you said no exclusive content.

the confusion mike is that a lot of us assumed that we wouldnt have to rush ladder or worry about where we get on the ladder and that we would have the same chance as everyone else to get an item. i know you mentioned on stream that this is not official and that it is still an ongoing conversation but a conversation sparked earlier today surrounding it. still not complaining.

Yea for sure, I think it's going to be something we experiment with and actively seek out feedback on. We don't know if we will need incentives for people to play the fresh cycle on ladder or not. Taking items out of the game all together is really not awesome but taking out an item that was only in a cycle isn't quite as not awesome. This means we could probably experiment with more "out there" mechanics on items without having them necessarily become evergreen in the scenario that they cause problems.
Is there any possibility you will do experimental or intentionally temporary content in the permanent cycle? I enjoy those kinds of things quite a bit, like the experimental item content, and would hate to miss out on that in the temporary cycles, too
If that's something people say they want, it's certainly possible.

Nothing is currently planned for experience to do once you hit 100. It is probably good to note that it will take longer to get those last few levels.
