About every 10-15 minutes in game my character permanently desyncs. I'll see damage numbers and other things, but no animations. My hp will drop and I can cast spells but I don't see any animations or summons. If I try to teleport out or go to another zone it just hangs forever and never takes me to the zone. Is this a known issue?

For the purposes of party play though it seems safe to assume that any effect that says "Ally" will apply to my friends and the friends they bring with them

Kinda. There isn't any of those things but you can gift gear to each other so if you can coordinate well, you can get a bump in gear by sharing.

Yes, there are several buffs that are very specific and are only designed to go on a player. Technically, almost all of them could go on a minion but it would require some reworking and would be a performance hit.
Is this a secret list of problem children players aren't allowed to know about yet?

Ah, this reminds me of an issue i encountered last night with Erza's Ledger that resulted in getting both uniques - is this a known issue? I couldn't find anything about it in the bug reports forum

the standalone was just done away with for steam only
it does what it says on the tin - this is applied when you load into a new area / transition zones to prevent you from taking unreactable damage

Is it intentional that i have to attempt to get my flame wraiths back each new zone or is that something new that needs fixing just asking as its a little annoying lol
Context i have perma wraiths but when they zone into a new zone they turn back to mele ones
Heorot's Protection, Warrior's Entrance, and Frenzied Onslaught are not working with Maul after taking the Skull Crusher passive (Fury Leap skills apply to Maul) is this because Maul does not leap or is it supposed to apply to it and it's currently bugged right now?

I'm only good at writing Discord bots, which still sometimes take hundred of lines of code, if something is actually a bug please make a bug report...its a can of worms to diagnose each bug, esp if you are writing a game with tens or hundreds of thousands lines of code lol xD

Had a few questions about the new Serpent strike that I couldn't quite find answers to if you wouldn't mind.
-venom damage. I think the site says 300 base. My assumption is that this is 100/s for 3 seconds. Though every other ailment is listed as the DPS. Was curious what the actual damage is.
-the armor shred node implies poison shred as well (well, posion lol)
But doesn't seem to give poison shred. Am I mis reading it or is it a bug?
-the crit strike node. I assume the game just looks at whatever your current melee crit chance is to determine the buff to damage. But if I were to take Swarmblade base crit chance node would I also gain that as venom damage? What about outside buffs like sorcs crit buff from lightning blast or a crit shrine?
-finally. What is 'high health' enemies. My assumption is above 80%. But that's kind of a wild guess.

Mana Strike has the node that converts mana gain into ward gain (Transfusion). Does the amount of ward received get increased from nodes that increase mana gain from Mana Strike (such as Mana Drain, which gives 20% more mana gained)?

the only way to influence which shards drop as shards is to get the corresponding monolith blessings.
You can also pick nodes which have base type rewards for the slot that the shard you are looking for is on so that you can shatter the items which drop
it is very likely that we will add a way to convert shards from one to another at some sort of loss ratio
I have a question regarding the mages lightning Blast. If you skill "Divergence" it says that it can fork or chain, but it looks like it exclusively forks now. How does it decide if it chains or forks? And as a followup to forking with "Fronloaded" skilled, which reduces dmg per chain: When it forks and hits 3 targets, are all of them considered the first target with regards to the dmg penalty per chain?
Am I right in assuming that Arcanist's Blade (+3 mana gain on hit) is the same as Ward Strike (+3 ward gain on hit) would be equally good, assuming 100% mana to ward conversion?
unless the conversion node says that it converts at some rate other than 100%, yes

that node has had some funky behavior in the past, it might not be working quite perfectly, I think it attempts to fork first and if it can't, chain.

"Ranged" isn't a damage type.
The 4 types are:
Melee
Spell
Bow
Throwing
Converting mana strike into a ranged ability, doesn't change its damage type from melee.

issue - if youre the party leader and doing a Shade of Orobys with a party, you die the moment Shade dies, you get NO reward but the node gets cleared

are the devs aware of extreme lag in parties? lag spikes that last for sometimes minutes in parties of 2-4 with complete loss of character, but latency not being representative of the graph at the bottom of the screen

no, migration didn't cause that, there is a bug with the 0.8.5f -> 0.9 conversion. some items can become corrupted and it causes either stashes or characters to not load properly. I think the files are still there, just not loading in game. Both share a save file location.

- If I'm converting Zaps to Lightning Blasts, does the Lightning Blast tree get applied?
- If I'm converting Zaps to Lightning Blasts, do the other nodes that apply to Zap from Static's tree get applied as well (such as +targets, +base crit)?

I've had to answer this so many hundreds of times at this point that I'm sorry you're gonna get the real short version.
They are items and we treat them as such. We have added a few features to help with their quicker picking up and organization through the vacuum and crafting inventory. Since doing that, they have started to feel less and less like items. It's in an odd half way point at the moment. We still want them to feel like items but have unfortunately added too many easy of use features to make them not feel like items any more.
Would the node Arcing Power (the one that raises maximum chains and gives chains on self-cast) from the Lightning Blast tree work?

When characters die, they go to hardcore solo but it's like offline softcore - is this intentional or is this a bug to be reported?
its always easier to smile and say "oh we fixed it" then missing it ๐
Duplicate reports are useful because it helps us to see if it's something that many people are encountering. Also it might not even be a bug but that's ok because it lets us know that players are expecting something else to happen.

We don't actually have that many things to pick up most of the time. If shards were auto resources, you could go for a long time without picking up more than 0-2 items per echo. Never finding anything worth picking up feels kinda bad to me.

Do all gambled items have low forge potential so its harder to craft a godly item if you get lucky on your gamble? Im wondering why the forge potential is always low, and why (or i havent found where) you cant gamble higher ilvl items
I'm not a huge fan of autopickup in general so there's that. Gold it makes sense to me because it never takes up any inventory space at any stage. Putting it on pets means that in order to play optimally you need to have a pet out and that's not for everyone (I do play with one anyways so that doesn't affect me personally.)

It is based on the ability level and your current level. It will say if it is gaining at an increased rate or not. It also gains faster as you level up in general. I don't have the numbers handy.

no. the mechanics of the gifting process are not changed by resonances. It just adds a new name to the list

There's a lot of little animation qualities and unit changes that have really added a lot like the maddened grole, to the new map changes that have really helped improve the early game pacing of the game. Hi question on mechanic Mike if you happen to know - i'm using the talent Mutilate, which consumes bleed stacks to deal their damage instantly. Does that mean i can scale how much damage that consumption deals by increasing my damage over time, or is that damage over time wasted and the mutilate is instantly dealing damage based on base bleed damage?

Nope, I tested it, you just get more ticks for the same damage if you extend the duration.

It takes the remaining damage for the bleeds on the target (however much that is) & deals it instantly
increasing dot damage will increase the damage from mutilate. It's looking at the actual dot and adding all the damage it would do if it were able to continue, and doing it immediately.
So anything that increases the total damage the bleed would do is accounted for.

right now it's designed that only 1 does it but everyone gets it I think. I think there are a couple bugs with that dungeon right now. We are also looking at options to split it if possible.

I know this is only semi-helpful. With smite if you put it more towards the top of your screen I found you can hit Lagon just fine. Took me a bit to figure it out.

are there plans to make the passive point respeccing less tedious? Right now if you wanna swap points within a certain "bracket" you need to either have a passive point available to put in and then take one out constantly or just spec the whole way down.

If I pick the node Plasma Ball for fireball (Converts half the damage from fire to lightning) and also have the gloves Liath's Machinations (50% of Fireball Base Damage Converted to Lightning) will fireball now do 100% lightning damage?
I'd like to ask 3 question regarding the Loot Filter possible improvements. 1.: Are there any plan to add the option (like a checkbox or more detailed setting) to show specified looted items on the map/minimap too, maybe included with a sound notification? It would help greatly when you kill stuff out of a screen. 2.: Are there any plan to add the loot filter coloring to be showed in the inventory too in some way? Like keep the text recolor/resize/underscore in the item tooltip when hovered. It's really annoying that I have to throw out everything at the chest to see which of my filter was the reason to pick that item. 3.: Are there any plan to add filters to chest tabs and adding an "autosort" feature to put everything in their place (or maybe do it like PoE where you can make a "dump" tab which it can sort item away to their places if it finds a spot)? These 3 would greatly help the already nice loot filter functionalities to make it streamlined between maps, ofc I understand that these would be most likely low priority features, I'm just interested if there is any plan to extend on something like these in the future.

Is there a particular design reason for not having affix shards be filterable, or is it simply something not a lot of people ask for?
affix shards are sitting in this very strange place between item and resource and I'm not quite sure what we will do with them. They eventually don't take up any inventory space so they are eventually a resource that you will want to pick up regardless. I know some become less useful over time but we have plans for a system which will allow you to exchange them at some sort of loss ratio so if we put that loot filter option in now, we will eventually probably not need it any more because everyone will just go back to picking them all up anyways.
For me it's more about highlighting certain shards that I want to be sure to pick up - it can be pretty easy for me to mentally gloss over a shard that's valuable to me at that moment just because many shard drops are not immediately relevant (which I suppose is also accomplished by hiding irrelevant shards, but I'd rather emphasize important ones) that said I'm quite quickly veering into feedback territory so I'll move any further crystallized point there

What was the reasoning behind forcing people to use steam other then a form of DRM. Like does steam offer support for games that you canโt get elsewhere ?
It's really not about the DRM, we can already enforce that to the level that we want for multiplayer through our account systems. We are actually lowering that by including a true offline mode soon.
It's actually about all the other amazing stuff that Steam brings to the table which saves us massive amounts of time and energy. Which in turn allows us to spend that time on making the actual game better. We are also not spending even more time trying to replicate those features double up on a stand alone launcher at the same time now.
We know Steam is a deal breaker for some players and that's really unfortunate. I wish we could offer them an alternative but sometimes we have to make tough calls on what goes in.

Mike someone brought up the stash tab bug in another channel, is this on the radar soon for getting fixed? Multiplayer kinda makes it impossible for us to fix ourselves and I imagine it's going to pop up a bunch soon.
(if you need to fix having lost stash tabs from lsoing a category, you can make new categories and it'll give you those stash tabs back after a couple, but yeah phantom category still stays around, same bug as before)

Hey Mike, I'm been trying to get AOD to work with my build and I was wondering was it intended for the damage you take from your own poison to multiply off map mods?
It seems like "Mobs do increased X% damage" modifiers seem to multiply the damage I take
kinda, what it's telling you is the optimal timeline to farm that item type in. It doesn't account for normal vs empowered. If the item has a level requirement of 75, it won't drop until you're in a lvl 75+ zone. This doesn't mean that you need to wait until empowered to get it, rather you can still find it from any 75-90 normal monolith. The best chance will just be in the empowered version of that specific timeline.
the way that the do increased damage is you take increased damage, so yes.

Having a issue where I go to empower the time lines ( beat all of them and it will not click or allow me to in the center where you empower them. ( solo offline)
Might be worth looking at that interaction for next patch, seemed kind of wonky and frustrating to play around

Could you guys feasibly do some backend sim feature for dps? Have a button to sim dps for your skill where it just calls backend process that spawns your character with a really fast gametime and spams the skill on a target dummy and averages the results of the damage events over a few minutes or something and then sends back that number? Queue + rate limit the requests too

Cause I can't change any abilities on my bar while in Spriggan Form, so that means I can't use the Rejuv Wind.
You can't activate Summon Spriggan's healing spell while transformed. It is Rejuvenating Wind.

I always struggle with setting too low expectations for myself so I'd say, exceeded expectations for me but I can't speak for everyone.

no, I'm not sure, there is also an axe that reduces the duration as a positive thing but it might be worded very differently
the axe reduces the duration by x2 but also doubles the damage
Cool, I'm combining this with the bleed to ignite gloves to make a ignite decoy build. Doesn't matter a lot either way because ignite is only 2.5 seconds a stack but the min-maxer in me wanted to know which was better if I got another relic to drop.

yes, minions are just like players really. if you had increased damage, it would affect your ailments. the only difference is with minion stats, when you summon the minion, those stats become normal stats. So the minion gets increased damage.

Hello Mike, I actually have a question. So I have been having a lot of conversations about high corruption farming recently. Currently there are a lot of modifiers that become very large after 500+ corruption, leading to very inconsistent gameplay, like the void enemies deal x% damage. I was wondering what are your guys's thoughts on high corruption gameplay as a part of the game? Is it something you guys are going to support in the future or is it more of a hands off approach? Each unique item has a hidden stat called "effective legendary potential level". Generally, this is equal to the level requirement. This determines how likely each unique is to have legendary potential relative to each other unique item.
Generally, lower level unique items get more legendary potential. Some unique items which scale their power very well, have a lower chance of getting legendary potential.
The level of a zone being higher makes all unique items drop with more legendary potential.

You can see what stats a skill scales with by looking at the tags. Hammer Throw has throwing and not melee tag. Melee damage does nothing for it. Throwing damage does.

they are technically different skills
attribute scaling doesn't apply directly to sub skills
when you use the initial skill, its attribute scaling gets applied as raw stats
nothing down stream of that calculates attribute scaling because it has already been done for the first one
I'm actually not sure. One thing I do know is that if it does, it doesn't also reduce the number of unique swords that drop for example

For monolith clearing I did the 58 > 66 > 80 > 85 > 90 to unlock empowered monoliths, so i'd assume you want to do empowered monoliths for new blessings. but the empowered monolith i have for the level 100 outcast doesnt let me kill the mono boss, is this intended?
am i really supposed to go back to the 58 zone and redo the rest or can i do the quest at the 100 monolith

Currently, there is no way to gift your friend an item that you've dropped while he is not in the party, which makes stuff like crashes or disconnects more frustrating (as well as making solo progress feel a lot worse if you're mainly playing with a friend). When trade was announced, I saw a line or two about the system that lets you bypass that, because you'd be getting "orbs of friendship" while playing with a friend that you'd be able to use to gift them the item you've dropped while playing solo
Any chance that system of gifting will come before the trading release? Trading update is quite nice, but I would like to have that feature in particular ASAP because it feels like if you are intending to play in a party, then you can't ever leave that party if you want your gameplay to stay meaningful

Is it intended or not that once you spec homing on fireball in online that the skill goes from smooth to low FPS? At 144hz, the skill is smooth as butter. Once you spec into homing, the skill itself animates at like 15 fps, the rest of the game is smooth. I can create a bug report if it's not intended.

My PC goes from 40ms stable to 3000+ms, and i can't play anymore without a 10-30 sec freez (that kill me most of the times :')).

When I Leap, I gain Frenzy.
I leveled Werebear so that Maul benefitted from the Leap tree.
When I Maul I do NOT gain Frenzy.
If we get 60 corruption in empowered timeline, monsters get 30% More damage and health bringing it to total 80% increase of monster HP and damage, but if we get 30% increased damage and health mod from echo in an empowered timeline we get total 95 (50% from 100 corruption, 45 from 30*1.5). Is my math correct here or are there some other increases to monster HP and damage that are getting multiplied by that more modifier from corruption?

Hello, I was wondering why didn't you do the 0.9 release on a Monday. I think it would be easier on the devs for the first bugfixes not to be on the weekend. Also since people would play less in weekdays and work hours it would help a lot of people not experience the bugs before the first bugfixes in contrast with the weekend play numbers. It just looked to me that sometimes getting a higher corruption, which is a scary MORE modifier could not be as bad as getting a simple echo mod with increased stats, because when you get more corruption you are actually stacking ONE more modifier additively.
Let's say we have a monster with base stats of 1000 HP and 100 damage.
100 corruption (50% more) would bring it to 1500 HP and 150 damage, and getting additional 60 corruption (+30% more) would bring it to 1800/800.
But, if we have the same monster on 100 corruption and get a 30% increased modifier from echo, we actually bring monster to 1950/195.
Which is where my confusion came from. But I guess that only works for normal monsters, without additional modifiers.
i hate it when i click 1 shard i want and i get like 20 shards of useless resist mods i have hundreds of clog my inventory and screen up

with addition of multiplayer you kinda want to lootfilter for all 4 builds in 1 party in one filter. are there plans to allow for more than 75 rules to accomodate that? its kinda hard to fit proper filtering for 4 builds in one filter

That was the problem in the first place. You can search all you want, but EHG hasn't communicated anything back out. People submit bugs, reply to requests for logs, and never hear anything back. Communication has to be in both directions. If you notice, I never asked you for help with the bug. All of my questions have been asking when or where in the process EHG would communicate back out, and those questions have largely been deflected or gone unanswered by you.
Does Last Epoch use P2P (peer to peer) connections for anything (like error logs)?
we don't have time to reply to the bug reports, especially when it is so busy like now. For now, it'll just have to be with the patch notes.

just curious, would allowing multiple affix/basetype sections within one rule be bad for performance while keeping same rulecount? like allowing to filter for exatly oracle amulet+coral ring within same rule or filtering for spellcrit+critmulti or crit+critmulti but not crit+spellcrit within same rule?

Very interesting. When I switched to a VPN to diagnose my desync and disconnect issues I found the VPN complained every time I had a disconnect or desync by saying "p2p connections are not supported by this connection" which seemed to imply something on Last Epoch was making the error happen.
I can't remember why that had to be done that way but there was a specific reason. I'm not sure if it's fixable soon or not
It has not been 'busy like now' for 3 years. It's still a progression stopper bug that is happening right now, so by your metric, it's still in the highest priority. The breakdown in communication is a process problem. It's a piece of software; there'll always be bugs. Your process for handling them appears to be a very poor experience on the user and developer side.

I have a chest with a +1 to fireball, and +1 to meteor skill, but when I use one, the skill in the other disappears. Is this a bug, or can I only have one skill level increase on my body armor??

@placid plinth is this bugged if multistrike ? if i cast on certain range my smite will always go off on single target only and if i stand directly at the boss in melee it wont cast smite

Will there be a way to improve the odds of a high roll on a blessing/upgrade the percentages more deterministically? Currently a couple percentages off stuff like crit avoidance or all resists could be a difference between hitting the cap or not which could be annoying especially if you want to make multiple characters

Hey there :) I'm looking at Abyssal Echoes, and I have two small questions:
- When you press alt, it says "deals X total damage over its duration". Does that means that increasing its duration would decrease its dps, or does it keep dps constant and increase total damage?
- The "Fragility" node says that abyssal decay is not consumed, but without the "Impair the Weak" node behind it, it would still only deal damage once if we hit the enemy multiple times, right? The "not consumed" part is the debuffs applied by abyssal decay, like blind?
I'm looking at a node that says 'recover cooldown when you hit a boss' uh...what counts as a boss? how do I know? is orbyss a boss?
what if it's just a sub-boss?

A suggestion: I'm sure you have an internal pinboard for bug tracking. Have a support team member write up a list of known bugs and their status, possibly once every two weeks after the patch cycle calms back down. It'll slightly reduce the volume of inquiries and employees will be able to spend more time triaging each bug rather than trying to crunch through a flood. Even a lot of what gets posted in here is just "is x bugged?".

Is there a difference in drop rates in offline vs online? I noticed I got like 10 uniques before lvl 20 in offline, while in online at that point I usually have only gotten one, since this patch. Or am I just being unusually lucky on this character?
