It's kinda just... not much of a roguelike/lite. It has really limited variability and extremely obvious "this is better than other options" systems to it, and really poor combat readability at a very early point of the game. Added on to the fact that the difficulty scalar of it is entirely built around "get lucky, idiot" it makes it very mid to me.

New to the game and just want to ask if it sounds right that a well rolled Clotho's Needle is out DPSing my World Splitter by like 50% on my Warpath Void knight without Warrior's Fury (not enough mana sustain yet)? infinite c is fine, but needs to scale exponentially instead of linearly, and need thresholds of new enemies / static difficulty every 100c like between 100 and 1000c imo

My main issue with end game right now is that your farm doesn't really scale as you get stronger. You could just power farm 300c and even if another build could do 2000c, if it isn't doing it faster all that extra strength doesn't really mean more or better rewards

You could literally just sit at 100c, fresh into empowered, and eventually you'll have full 2T7+ gear on most of the best uniques

The other detail I noticed from this server is people tends to play sentinel and primalist. Melee players are more active here.

They're tanky so more fun, make sense

I don't remember a lot from the time but things really came together in favor of PoE back then. Like there was a substantially large and hungry player base for arpg and PoE delivered pretty decent game for them. Diablo immortal's fiasco with mobile also drove players towards PoE and to top it all off it was f2p

At the end of the day PoE made a game, listened to players and put out consistent and frequent updates. They are a largely good monetisation system in place, not perfect but it's by far the best we have seen.
