Yeah people 100% focus more on the art side of it more then anything, I've always loved the different architectural designs of buildings around the world, I just adore English boraque, one of my personal favorites, I love getting to see different styles, unfortunately living in the us there isn't that much compared to say Europe of course lol, there is certainly still a lot of really nice buildings in the US though, I love the design of Philadelphia city hall, I started working on it as a plug-in a while ago but never finished, may try again since it's been a while and my abilities have evolved much since then.

Yes I remember when you send those in #art-n-photography , looked through most of them, I hope to visit those places one day, (I know this is a bit clique) but I just need to see Paris one day in person, it's truly fascinating to see the amount of work and expertise people put into such buildings, bit unfortunate those levels of work and craftsmanship aren't implemented into modern designs and such but hey the world evolves, and we have beautiful buildings from the past to look back upon.
Not to say modern buildings are just ugly or whatnot, I would say they have simply evolved into a different form of beauty compared to more historical buildings.

I've been recently making some builds on tt based on the Rotterdam region, they have a really unique way of designing cities I personally am not the biggest fan of the designs they have come up with for the new towns in lands formerly covered by water but since reclaimed but that region compared to the surrounding areas still feels very unique to me, they've taken slightly differing choices in modernizing although still similar to the route the rest of Europe has taken it still has a bit of a charm to it.

I think the concept of master planning whole cities is also kinda wild too, if things somehow don't work out with architecture then I would for sure have to look into urban design or city planning

I always find it interesting to see the differing ways cities, regions and countries continue to modernize and city design continues to evolve, whether it be Europe making greener, more modern builds, or the middle east aiming to boost tourism with towering skyscrapers.
It's a beautiful little form of art people tend to overlook in my eyes

Where I live we don't but if you go 20-30 minutes you can find the historical downtown portion, and if you go an hour or so north they become more common

And in terms of the US they are nearly a universal experience everyone can name one thing or another they remember about being in one of those small town downtown buildings, and I think not only bringing them into the present day, but working on some form of sustainability features as well would just be the icing on the cake. But fun fact typically restoring a building like that is more sustainable then building a new green building

Most cities or atleast the progressive ones thankfully are resistant to the tear it out and build it new design style and most self respecting architects are too, but yeah developers are typically in it for the quick buck and the bulk sale
Completely un-related to this, but I am actually doing some design work for a local city through my university to help them plan the baseline design for their new city hall before they send it off to an actual architect
