The one that's overhead is aka a monorail which is usually a high speed inner city only loop train. The two that's on the ground are freight and passengers. The one under ground aka a subway is passengers only. They all have one thing in common which is increasing the transportation percentage value but it does "not" help to lesson the flow of traffic jams. The fastest and probably the cheapest is the subway. It's there but no animation. The monorail as far as I know is the second cheapest. As for the ground you can customize the build of a station with the station parts. It's what I've learned myself and I'm still learning. Hope this helps you out.
