I'm a little bothered by the amount of vehicles in my 2nd city. It has a population of around 100 and the vehicles are a tad too much. Though I get that realistically speaking, not all vehicles are from the same city/region, is it possible that the type of buildings I put in the place create a lot of unnecessary traffic? I have a residential building with 1 person living in it and there are about 4 cars going to it on the regular, which is mildly affecting the experience. I was actually trying to design a kind of, Resident Evil Village-esque city 😞

Simple fix: don't constantly change the angle. I don't usually change my city angle simply because alot of things aren't rotation aware.

I think it's because it has free tunnels. Basically if you build underground roads it doesn't cost diamonds. You usually have to pay diamonds to build them (if you're playing the Freemium version of the game). And also it looks kinda nice and it's pretty universal, I've seen many builds uses them.

I'd say first of all is that it's better to shape your road layout around the coverage of utilities, services,transport, park etc and not trying to cram it amongst the buildings. The zones should be only placed after everything else has been considered

I'd also encourage isolating the industrial area and only connecting it via highway as they cause alot of traffic

As well as pollution and noise

But for power and water you're fine

And if you want to make it look good, don't use zones and use manual building instead

The number next to the building name denotes the influence provided by the building. The buildings under the landmarks and awards are all vanilla. Landmarks costs diamonds to place (on mobile). The plugins in the image are only some plugins that provide cultural influence. You may be able to find many more on the plugin store.

I got to 1 million population on hard mode, and noticed 3 things: wealthy residents dont pay enough taxes at 9% to cover the cost of education, I had to export to neighbor regions. Residents who have everything are still slightly unhappy. And Im not seeing significantly more disasters.

Makes me wonder if there is an unlisted happiness metric. The population swings are pretty wild also. Maybe thats a feature of hard mode?

I'm pretty sure that must be caused because when new buildings are built their average happiness is 50% before it starts going up again.

So if you built large swaths of land at once, that might be the answer

However sometimes the happiness reading does like to give you scare just for fun so it goes to 0% for a few seconds and then returns back to normal.

There's always traffic in this part of the city because there's only one way through (purple). So I'm thinking maybe adding another lane but the overpass bridge thingy (yellow) is on the way. I don't know how to build one should I ever remove it. Thanks!
