i did notice during the child stage in particular it would turn the lights off on its own Sometimes
normally they fall asleep with the lights on and you have to turn them off by pressing A or B

another thing im confused about, prior to the adult stage theres no way to make money except randomly from the gotchi king or via the shop items if u have them? cause if so this feels like an oversight with the teen not getting their hearts filled unless its from store bought food

it kinda sucks at first but after you start making stupid money from concerts it's easy to afford along with other cheaper items

and then you can build up a food stockpile to get through easily on later gens

this reset trick i found mentioned on gotchi garden is wild

Set the time, date, and your username and wait one minutes for the egg to hatch. Once it does, it will go to the screen where you can name your pet.

i've been thinking about running my music stars closer to christmas, so i could help again with research then. i got my first music star as a christmas present back in 2009, but it was later stolen from me. i managed to buy the same shell couple months ago, so now i could relive that childhood memory with the same shell. it would my first time running two as well

i really like the music star, it just feels like really detailed device. i love the little details like how the tama answers the door for mail and walks through it go shopping

Disliked toys will raise stress but only by one point each time they use it iirc. They punish you a bit but not too much lol

Toy likes and dislikes are also gender based

I gave one of my boys a book because I thought it was one of the handful of gender neutral options, but he didn't like it. Reading is for girls I guess

I don't blame her for speculating or anything, but yeah I'm not entirely sure timing out does anything besides increase stress

I can't remember if it's this version or not but there's one where timeouts have the Tama sit there crying and unresponsive for a minute or so if you time it out for no reason

oh yea that does happen on the music star they get real mad for a bit and you can't do anything while they crash out (source: i accidently picked time out when i meant to praise them)

in my experience there really isn't a reason to ever time them out though

it's easy enough to give snacks or play games to reduce stress so they're less likely to play with their toy

and the manual only suggests using time out if they don't respond to you (i've never seen this happen idk what they're talking about) or if they keep playing with their toy instead of practicing

some people suggest skills points be as high as possible

Mostly it's random, but just having high skills and practicing a lot tends to feed the placebo that it does something xD

There's always been people saying switching the other band members' instruments helps, but in my experience it hardly does and Bill is always just a stingy jerk who likes the letter X and hates the letter O >:/

i have managed to pass on the first attempt with around 300 points in each skill, having practiced at the school a few times
i feel like it's mostly practicing with the band / at school and having the right instruments to music genre combination, but i don't think anyone knows for sure yet

Just make sure to answer their concert calls all the time since that's where they try again for a pro debut, and eventually they'll get three O's! I don't think I've ever gone an entire generation without it, but there have been times where they just get garbage luck and go several days being broke ahh Tamas

You can check the clock screen to see what your current rank is, as long as it's at 1st when you go perform a concert you should receive a trophy

I think you can only get one trophy of a specific genre per generation/band, but if they swap genres somehow you can get multiple awards of different genres

They can be overwritten in later generations, too; I think it gets rid of the previous band's info/performance if so?

Also also you can watch their performance again if you click on the trophy uwu

My working theory for praising and timing out is that it just alternates; since the animation looks exactly the same, I'll praise it the first time and if it gives me a training point, I'll time out the next time and just keep track of it. If it didn't give me a training point, I praise again the next time and I've seen that it works

I have zero idea when to utilize the praise function at all, and it’s not like older devices where your discipline them because they won’t eat

Its been literally well over a decade since Ive had a music star die (my pink one's lineage goes back to circa 2012)

Im the it's at 99 stress xD
it's from personal experience, I've actually tested it because I was pretty confused the first time
When it reaches 99 stress for a while, it will call out but refuses to let you do anything, buttons don't work at all, so you're stuck and have to wait till the time goes by and the tama leaves
Adults as far as I know don't die, only child/teen tamas can on the v6, they just leave you a passive agresive note xD

No time outs at all on the tamas lifespan on the second time it happened

I just left it unsupervised too long

Although as I comented, if you press reset, you continue as if nothing happened, although stress will be pretty high still

when researching the first time someone also commented to press buttons quickly, but that did absolutely nothing

I think the combo to get this "event" is 0 happiness, 0 hunger, 99 stress

I had it happen when I kiiiiiiinda forgot about them, so I think care mistakes might take a part on it yeah

but only those in adult life I believe, Because the first one that left was pretty well cared for until it was an adult, and the second one was a pretty bad run full of mistakes xD
I couldn't notice any difference in times it took them to leave, say, the good care one didn't tale longer to leave than the bad care one

I have two music stars at teen stage rn, I can turn them on and test stuff next week...

Do you happen to remember if they were physical or mental? I believe it matters because getting 1 physical and 1 mental, for example, wouldn't total to 2 cms because they're separate types

so what i think happened is yesterday my band evolved and they started playing a song, but right before the song started playing i got the low battery screen

so this morning, the little animation where they evolve plays again

but their sprites were JUST the top half of a kuchipatchi and the top half of like a shimashimatchi i think

and then they evolved normally into a mametchi and gozarutchi
