Retailers get info on upcoming releases way in advance and it’s not too irregular for them to (accidentally?) upload them early

I think Bandai deliberately avoids sending out photos until closer to release to avoid stuff leaking in full

The Pix leaked months before its reveal in 2021 and since then all the new shells and devices which have leaked have typically done so through retailers like this without images (a few oritama designs, some Connection shells, Paradise shells and merch, I think a few Nanos too)

the thing is the code is just a set of sprite IDs to use and a list of characters you can use the item with, the character IDs in this version aren’t guaranteed to match any other version so if it were like this it probably would’ve been a conscious choice

Or an oversight if it’s just one character

Hey guys! The RV3 is a super super favorite of mine however, both of mine instantly die! Putting electrical tape over the screw next to the battery fixes this right?

I tend to play my tamas on mute anyway so using Panasonic batteries and having my RV3 muted, I'm currently at 6 weeks with the same battery

every time i've had a battery die i've lost zero progress as far as i can tell

idk what events exactly trigger a save, but buying from the shop seems to be one of them

on the og i think it was just evolution, sleep, and connection?

The time is saved too so you know exactly when the save occurred, not sure if the OG did that either

The discussion in study hall has me inspecting all of my boxes more closely. Do we already know what these numbers represent? I imagine it’s the date the Tamagotchi was packaged, seeing as the Chinese box is literally just 20250708 or July 8th 2025. Though the NA numbers are more annoying to figure out, if they’re backwards like on the original connection shells and we ignore the 971 then maybe it’s:

March 20th, 2024 (Clear Retro shell)
September 12th, 2024 (Sweet Charms)
April 24th, 2025 (Strawberry Pearl Milk)
April 24th, 2025 (Aura True Friends set)

Though interestingly all of Wave 1 shares the same code, all of Wave 2 shares the same code, and all of Wave 3 shares the same code.

It doesn’t look like the JP boxes have this same type of code imprint, but there are other codes on the JP boxes that may be their dates instead.

Also interestingly the shells that were released in NA outside of specific Waves like the Pink Glitter shell and Melon Soda shell have different codes too:

January 24th, 2024 (Pink Glitter)
August 28th, 2024 (Melon Soda)

Though the Strawberry Pearl Milk shell falls under this category of being released outside of waves, it has the same code as the Wave 3 shells. 🤔

This wave has been really odd and spaced apart. Looking at my deliveries:

Neon Planet RV3: Delivered 2/11
Pool RV3: Delivered 2/19
Tropical Flowers RV3: Delivered 2/21
Cherry RV3: Estimated 3/6 - 3/8

And I preordered Neon Planet, Pool, and Tropical Flowers all at the same time when preorders went up, and then preordered the Cherry RV3 when it went up later.

There’s been some that look official and seem to be shipped from Amazon but they also don’t appear on the Tamagotchi store on Amazon

Exactly!! That's the exact reason why I'm doubting this listing. It's apparently from Amazon and links to the Bandai storepage but it doesn't appear in the Tamagotchi section. However, every picture is in french and features multiple shells from different waves. Plus this one was the one featured in the pop up store marketing

The shipping date is set for mid March and the price is around 30 bucks so it's reasonable

I crossed them out as they are probably not going to be rereleased. We have the Blue Graffiti and Pink Graffiti True Friends set so it would be unlikely for them to rerelease the Graffiti shell, and the Gold shell was made for an online giveaway with only 2,500 units produced, which makes it seem unlikely to return. Unless they do another giveaway! Though that seems doubtful too. XD

Yeah the last JP RV3 wave was Wave 3 that released 3/22/25. In 16 days it'll have been a year since the last JP wave.

I don't mind if the product image is replaced by a real image for connection shells since sometimes it does look different in real life or the product image itself is poor quality in the case of the oceania shells. I think we can have both for the blue wave and camo shells though since the real life images are proof that a certain wave of V3 shells had an alternate logo in the USA

Something I noticed is that every single wave, both NA and JP, has had a pink and a blue shell. (Except NA Wave 2, which had 2 pink shells)

Wave 5 has been shown to have a pink shell and a blue shell already, too.

This is oooooold but I'd remembered it being discussed in the past - I just started up an RV3 again and my male Mametchi does use the bow tie for his idle animation rather than the bow (I didn't even have the bow in my inventory, just the bow tie)

Even though I remember most other serious adults I've had in the past used the bow

It looks like they bought a “reservation” spot, so whenever the seller DOES get the Tamagotchi I assume they’ll make the buyer pay even more for it, and probably off-site/under the table so that they can nickel and dime the person. And if the person backs out it’s unlikely they will make a complaint over one dollar
