Facing away from you -> Praise (check their happy & hunger bars first though because they also do the same animation when their hearts are empty)

If you select the wrong one, it doesn’t count as a care mistake, they just miss out on getting a training point (but you’ll have plenty of chances to fill it up over the child & teen stage)

You only get a care mistake if you ignore it completely (15 minutes, when the light turns off. Sometimes they might get sick afterward if you ignore it)

I used to be fine running my V3, which was my perma run until earlier this year. My brain seems to have completely erased how to do the praise/time out 😅

To be fair they changed it slightly from the original V3. On the original V3, they would cry when they need praise and they would do nothing when needing a time out (beep for no reason)

but the OG v3 and the rerelease don't have the screaming sprite

It’s called the 2024 V3.0 internally as the wiki says and this can be seen at the end of the ROM test, it’s just that it also has a rom version of 00.0

Just had the battery I put in my old V3 after it 'running out' on the RV3 go dead. I think I got a couple weeks out of it, that said, I did accidently leave it in the RV3 for a month after it ran out. So, probably would have had a good 3 weeks from it.

(If you reset a RV3 mid-evolution you can reroll what it turns into)

Everything I’m missing is even gen only so I’m forced to get duplicate characters on my odd gens now LOL

It’s only limited to whatever tier your Tama was going to become. So if your Tama was gonna become good care, you can reroll to make it any of the good cares

Like, if I wanted Memetchi, I’d still have to do the correct amount of care mistakes and such, but if I saw it starting to become Kuchipatchi, I reset and try again to make it become Memetchi

When you reset it just immediately starts up the evolution animation again, on the OG Connections it would just set you back to your last “checkpoint” so you would theoretically have time to correct any care mistakes, but not on these ones

I would say 1-2 months is the average but some are really bad and only last 1-2 weeks. Battery brand also seems to matter?? I’ve been having more luck with PKCell batteries while Energizer & CVS batteries die constantly, but my ORIGINAL connections are practically allergic to the PKCells

I don’t believe the programming would go so complicated as the distinguish the method of sickness, the processors in tamagotchi are pretty simple and having that many integers seems beyond its capability imo, I think death from sickness will be death from sickness no matter how it happens

as in they get sick 3 times and the 4th time they'd get sick from a care miss they'd just die instead
it was bumped up to 5 on the Keitai and stayed there for the Entama

and on the OGs just getting sick was enough to increase the internal sickness counter
so they'd die even if you'd been healing them as soon as they got sick

seems they've changed this mechanic a lot for this release

To clarify the third one, oldies don’t technically die faster, I believe their hearts just go down faster (like the baby/child/teen stages), but I’m curious if they’d still need 9 sicknesses to die. It would be a lot to test tho given that you already have to wait so long to get an oldie

I might be wrong, but I think oldies do die faster? Last one I had on my RV3 I got three care misses from forgetting the lights, then I forgot to keep its hungry/happy meters full one day and it died. Didn’t actually see the death animation though, just the winged egg

it wouldnt surprise me if the oldies died from fewer mistakes because on most of the vintage models once they pass an internal timer that determines whether an adult evolves or not, it changes how sensitive the adults become to care mistakes

on the original angel for example, prior to that timer being reached care mistakes wont kill a tama but once the timer is passed 3 care mistakes will kill them

tho if u left it’s hearts empty for up to 12 hours that’s likely an insta kill

yeah it was that way on the originals too: there's a chance of sickness with every CM, even if you never refill the hearts

also you technically wouldn't need to heal sickness after a few hours of hunger; as long as you know when they first got hungry, you should be able to tell whether they died from being 12 hours hungry or 12 hours sick

in the originals sleeping hours did not count towards either of the 12 hour counter iirc

I want to see if the parent will still leave if you leave the screen on at the clock at midnight. Not doing clock pause, just leaving it on the clocl screen overnight. Curious if the cutscene still happens and you start the next generation when you go back to the main screen in the morning

Yeah that’s been noted before, so you can’t clock pause when the baby’s alone (granted it doesn’t matter since the baby isn’t “alive” until you name it)

actually there seems to be a bug in the plus and keitai series (at least the guides for those mention it) during that state
if you go back to before 12am after the animation for the parent leaving has played, the animation will play once again once the clock reaches 12, making the parent come back for a moment
i have never tested it myself, though

The yukata blue shell is so misunderstood here, the patterns on it are morning glory and asanoha (hemp leaf), both are typical yukata and kimono patterns (hemp was a common traditional clothing fabric before Big Cotton took over), and possibly blue color because it's a very old traditional dye.

It's the strawberry milk shell so it is a remake of an old shell, but the trim is silver

I did ROM test it, no differences there, it's no different from the Japanese RV3 apart from packaging

Strawberry milk is really good, I got that one yesterday, but it's also extremely close to the Keitai original
