My run is not going great rn cause I'm nearly done the child stage and only caught 1 justice call so I think I'm gonna have to try and go for 4 in the teen stage

It would have been a better idea to start at a higher weight but i guess they can use snacks occasionally and its not too risky

i think the way the justice calls work, they can only occur in hour increments after the time it evolved. So as long as you recorded that time (and you haven't been pausing) you should generally be able to predict when they'll happen (if they'll happen)

I usually leave the minutes the same on my clock when I change it but I wonder if the justice call time will get slowly scooted later by the amount of time it takes me to set the clock since it'd technically be paused for that brief period

It should at least stay in the same general area though since it takes me less than a minute to set it

It'll be all good for me cause I never pause or mess with the clock anyway. I just saw mine evolve into a teen so now I definitely have to get all 4 justice calls. But I did get the exact minute it evolved so that's great

yeah i'm preeetty confident on that

the only sticking point is on a technicality with how the code works, because technically the hour rollover only causes a certain flag to be set, and then code in a different place looks at that flag and decides whether to call for justice. And i don't know what triggers that 2nd bit of code lol (although it looks like it's inside a big loop so probably gets run really frequently -- which is probably why that flag exists in the first place, to stop justice calls from happening literally every second)

but either way there's a second layer of indirection that i haven't fully accounted for which makes me nervous lol

Also to confirm it doesn't really matter how many candies I feed it if I keep it as a multiple of 3 when it gets to Leo it'll still be 39 candies to immortality?

Like if I feed the child 9 candies it cancels out

it's always 39 candies to immortality, the difference is in whether you can feed fewer candies than that to get there

or equivalently how many candies it takes to fall out of immortality

but yes as long as you are always feeding snacks in multiples of 3 it will look the same as if you've never fed it a candy before in its life

i reached out to the person who made that youtube video on getting lucky unchi kun, and gave the abbreviated steps on how to do it, but she hasn't made a mothra video or anything

double-checked 2 things today:
(1) time spent in the cocoon doesn't count towards time spent in the adult stage. it occurred to me that maybe that hour does count lol but nope. so you start tracking time once the cocoon hatches (which im guessing everybody was doing already)
(2) the counter that tracks how many candies you've fed - specifically the one that rolls over when it hits 3 and doesn't reset on evolution -- DOES reset when you hatch a new mothra, so the number of snacks you fed in a previous generation won't affect a later one. This one had been bothering me for a while lol

The way I understand it, the only time turning the lights on doesn't count as a care mistake is if you're trying to kill your tama with care mistakes, as in it doesn't contribute to killing them
The second go around with Mothra Leo when you're waiting for him to evolve into the twins I'm pretty sure it does count

She was taken care of flawlessly... until I headed to our first tama club meetup on Saturday... the elation and heading out to beat the traffic made me forget to pause her, albeit having fed her and played with her before leaving (and my mushikings lol).... the excitement!! Ahhhh... 🙈🙈 I always, always pause/turn off/remove batteries from my babies before leaving the house for anything... not sure how that happened... and of course when I came back Mothra Leo had four poops and sick. It's interesting the justice timer is reset by sleep. Like if it evolves from baby to child stage at 9:15pm and goes straight to sleep the justice calls run from when it wakes up at 8am so they happen on the hour xx:00 instead of at xx:15

I recall it being said that allowing the Hungry and/or Happy hearts to go empty doesn't count so long as you fill them right away, but it seems to have counted in one of my attempts because I got Fairy instead of Leo.

I am on my 17th attempt at this somehow I am just not good at this run. I got to the second generation for the second time ever and thought I immediately messed it up.

I wasn't paying attention to the baby stage and when it evolved all the hearts were still empty and then I realised and filled them up but figured I probably got 2+ care mistakes there. The next day I woke up late and got a third (or fourth) care mistake. Then somehow it evolved into the correct evolution anyway.

I was so relieved, I guess the care mistakes didn't count when the child stage had just evolved because not enough time had passed since the care mistakes counted against the baby stage.

Anyway hoping I can reach the twins this run since this is the 2nd closest run I've had so far

Just depends if I can get all 4 justice calls on the teen stage because I missed the child ones

Second Leo, this is seriously the furthest I've ever gotten

I did end up managing to get all 4 justice calls in the teen stage luckily

Unfortunately I am a fool though it's gotten sick 3 times so far so I wanted to immortal but I dont remember how much candy I've given it 🙃 it's definitely at least 15 but it could be 18 or even possibly on 21

i still assert that my method is the best one since you dont have to track anything. You just immortality right away and then work down to 79 (or even low 80s) and let the weight creep down naturally over time

The weight can creep down fast if you're not careful though! So i liked having the option to feed additional snacks if I wanted without losing immortality

i felt like being careful wasn't too hard, you just need to be sure to quit out when you know you're going to lose or if you know you're going to get a perfect game

and the mothra is pretty generous with the timing, so as long as you quit out before the score screen appears it doesn't count the win or loss

at the very least, i felt that was less onerous than having to do detailed tracking externally lol

I could only think to force that by leaving hearts empty, keeping it asleep until a guaranteed disciple call would be activated and then wake it for the fan letter but the sick strat is essier

for the Mothra it reads 4 inputs from the hardware - 3 buttons and then 1 thing that I realized later was the jumper pad for debug mode

it just gets read into a memory location which gets checked in various places to decide whether to act fast-forward-y

So that's what I want to check for Yasashii... does it read 3 inputs or 4

i don't remember how i tested it in emulation, maybe i mapped the hyperspeed mode to a button?

instead of just soldering a wire between the two contact points that put it into debug mode, u add a reed switch which will allow the current to be opened and closed using a magnet, so it’s installing exactly the same as a wire just now I have the ability to connect the current when u want it debugged and then open it when u want it to run normally
