To continue what I kind of ended in destiny chat, sadly a lot of sailor food back during colonial eras lacked a lot of stuff like vegetables or meats, they actually ate majorly wheat based foods.

This was due to such being super easy and cheap to make, instead of proper meals. So it was what sailors had to go with.

Scurvy did some horrible stuff to you, you should've seen what happened to the gums of people who dealt with it. Gums swell, teeth come out of place and become loose and difficult to chew.

Also: I'd suggest trying baked/roasted onions. Just get an onion or two, get a baking tray, keep the skins on, no cutting them, just put em into a preheated oven. I'd suggest a 180C oven or 350 Fahrenheit in American. I'd say test it yourself but do it similar to a potato, so roughly 30 minutes to 40. Just keep track of it in the oven, and get some salt and cold butter.

Once the onion is done, I'd suggest cutting the top off so you can squeeze the onion out onto a bowl or plate.

Vitamin C generally comes from fruits, if you don't have access to it yes you'll deal with things like scurvy.

Also: Kale, yellow and red bell pepers, kiwifruit, broccoli, oranges, lemons, pineapple, raspberry, strawberry and even cabbage and lime all contain vitamin C.

Bell peppers probably would be your best source of vitamin C.

Also, make sure to go outside into sunlight. Since exposure to the sun can help in getting some of that important Vitamin D for healthy bone strength

Vitamin A, D and C are all pretty important for staying healthy.

Other vitamins are still important, but these 3 I'd say from my judgement are the more important kind.

Dude, if you have an iron deficiency get some help. Get some food cooked on an iron skillet for a start, and start eating stuff like cooked oysters and spinach or lentils. Hell, raw yellow beans are an option.
